I think the important context for the "Bajoran earrings violate Starfleet dress code" thing is that the two times we've seen a Bajoran be denied the right to wear an earring, it was bc someone was being a hardass over rules to them, specifically. Tuvok with the non-compliant Maquis, and Ro Laren bc she was, well, a court-martialed failed Starfleet officer who got her own crew killed. We've seen many other Bajorans wear an earring in Starfleet and even the Enterprise without a problem so clearly it's something up to the Captain's discretion (and I'd imagine any rules would be relaxed when Bajor joined the Federation). Starfleet as a whole seems relatively permissive uniform-wise, like, see the Native American officers in TMP
If it was a blanket ban it would be weird that Klingon baldrics and Ferengi headdresses are okay, but not an earring, though. Worf could wear the symbol of a Klingon House while the Klingons were actively at war with the Federation, but the religious symbol of a friendly species the Federation was preparing to join is too much?

I know that lower decks is a successor show to TNG and that entire era of trek but this season made it clear to me that it’s also the spiritual successor of disco in that I find it hard to imagine a character like Beckett Mariner existing in trek the way she does if disco hadn’t struggled through breaking the barrier of having a black woman and several lgbt characters as leads. I don’t think the shows are related, they’re the least so considering lower decks’ better connection to just about every media other than it, but compared to disco’s actual successor snw it feels like the next foot forward so to speak

LMAO Tendi's face when Rutherford just casually tells the group he had a cave baby with T'Ana was priceless

So, I have about 35 unpublished star trek one shots that ive been casually working on for almost two years that includes:
-vulcan mind switching
-a vulcan named T’lan (pronounced like T’lyn)
-spock having moments of being full human
-spock takes the ship (with crew permission) to save one of their own
-kirk goes back in time with someone not from his universe to right the timeline
I mean, what a fun bunch of coincidences (or simply the repetitive nature of trek)
