Fully of the belief that Miko is only seen as an annoying character because of the dynamic between her and Jack.
Miko in isolation isn’t an annoying character. She’s reckless, and unwise, and has to be bailed out of trouble every five seconds, but this isn’t really an issue for any of the bots because as far as they’re concerned, this is Normal Human Behaviour™. They are constantly having to work with and around humans or bail them out of trouble.
Bulkhead adores Miko. He is exasperated by her like a parent is of their toddler, sure, but I wouldn’t say he is annoyed by her in any way. Her interaction with wheeljack is another example. When she exists with the bots by herself, she doesn’t come across as burdensome. She’s just limited, as every human is, by the curse of being small.
It’s only through her interactions with Jack, and his continuous challenging and calling out on her behaviour, that Miko becomes an annoying character. Frankly, it’s the tension between them which annoys the audience. We can only watch the same cyclical bickering between children before it gets old.
I have noticed that there actually are a lot of people who do like Miko, and find Jack super annoying instead. It seems like people pick one or the other depending on how you interpret which one is causing the tension. When I watched tfp as a kid, I loved Miko and hated Jack. Like, hated hated him. Because I saw Miko as a fun punk rock kid and Jack as the one needlessly calling her out. Upon rewatching tfp as an adult (who works with kids a lot) I related far more to Jack, and so the situation flipped; I saw Miko’s actions as more frustrating to watch.
The writers did eventually try to fix this, with the one heart-to-heart scene between Miko and Jack. But it was kind of rushed, and didn’t leave any lasting change to their dynamic. They went right back to arguing.
Tldr: Miko and Jack are annoying together. Fans usually pick one of em as the cause to be annoyed at but honestly, they are both fine on their own. Children bickering is annoying even in a fictional cartoon lmao

I was at first in love with totk, and I still think mechanical wise, its quite impressive
And when I collected all the tears and saw the "story" I genuinely got upset in a good way (at first), because man! Did they really got the balls to go that far? Is there nothing I can do for her? Now I MUST do all the temples, see how it plays out and --oh, I've got this cutscene already. Why are all the people so dumb about Zelda, I KNOW where she is, Link say something-- Link??
After finishing all the temples and almost falling asleep, I stopped playing the game, looked up the last boss and remaining cutscenes and went "Thats it?"
Watching other people (including you) being critically about so many things, both character and mechanical wise, I've almost startled myself with a realization what the gnawing feeling I constantly had, actually was.
Totk feels like a fanfic.
And don't get me wrong, I love fanfiction, I think its great and important, I adore fanfic writers, I love finding gems, I love reading self indulgent stories, see new spins and interpretation of characters. I love the casual, the passion, the creativity!
But totk gives me the same feeling everytime I am reminded that Fifty Shades is a Twillight fanfic.
The world is there. The faces I know and grew to love are there. But everything is ever so slightly different, uncannily so. Just how some characters talk, how they act, how they were placed in the story. The Zonai appearing out of nowhere, but no, they always had been there you see, they were these super magical advanced people but they all died, the king is so tragic. And you see, the king is super cool and powerful and-- oh I dont get to interact with him outside of the tutorial. Did they try to do another King Rhoam-- but wait, that only worked because we didn't knew he was a ghost-- totk wait stop why do you take him out of the story, why couldn't he be a companion, he IS ABLE TO TALK THROUGH THE ARM LET THE OLD GOAT COMMENT ON STUFF?? If you bring up all this ancient stuff and you still got a ghost lingering, let him talk?? (I never ended up getting Mineru but I smell wasted potential as well)
Im not even mad, I am disappointed. It feels like the devs saw what all the lore hunters got attached to and talked about and then just... took the "cool". All the Zonai stuff could've easily been Sheikah tech, but got just reskinned to look more exciting instead of being its own thing.
Like... at this point I prefer what fans are doing over what Totk gave us. The characterization of Rauru (and everything Zonai), projects like you do of what totk couldve been, the little nuggets of actual highlights and details of love fans find in the game. I found much more enjoyment in these concepts than I got from a 70bucks game. And thats depressing.
I love fanfiction. I dont love it when my corporate 70 dollar, six year development, console exclusive game feels like a story that passionate fan couldve written miles better in a week (and I've already seen much cooler and interesting rewrites and ideas).
Zelda has been a huge part of my childhood and its depressing seeing it treated like that. It always was about the story, the epic, its The Legend of Zelda for crying out loud. To be courageous to enter a dungeon, to be wise and solve all the riddles. To become powerful over the journey you embarked on. Zelda to me is the campfire story you tell to others and go into the woods or the beach and imagine what monsters you would slay. Zelda is not the sandcastle you build in the sandbox and then add dinosaurs and star wars ships because you didn't had any other toys, and just stumble into and over some story to entertain yourself until lunch is ready.
I'd have an oracle of seasons over another totk any day at this point. They should've just make the mechanics of totk its own thing, but I guess they were scared it wouldn't sell if it doesn't have a Mario or Zelda skin straped over it.
Anyways, sorry for the mini rant - love your art, love your thoughts and insights, and I am looking forward to see more of it - Zelda related or not (your original characters look amazing, I adore your style sm)
Hope you have a great rest of the day!
*nods along through this entire rant*
idk how many of my rants you have read but yeah ... yeah ... and the further you think about it the further it all falls apart, the wasted potential of it all and the goddamn audacity of them to do those interviews in which they make it EVEN WORSE is just
i know the expectation for a direct sequel to botw was huge and understandbly so but i really REALLY think it would not have been that hard to make it a good follow up even taking into account that totk was originally a DLC, pretty much all of botws aspects could have been developed further, i dont know what could have happened to make totk have turned out like this .. literally it feels like something had to have gone wrong, its like someone who doesnt know zelda nor botw at all was given a few prompts and then just made some generic fantasy story while the rest worked on ultrahand for 5 years
the technical impressive things ARE technical impressive, but i dont think it was necessary nor served the game well in any way (and i LOVE building games- however totk is neither a building game nor a story game nor a zelda game nor an exploration game nor a sequel imo) but zelda, this zelda, is not made for that and i cant help but think it was mainly to encourage people to make some ridiculous mechs so it can go viral on tiktok (not trying to discredit them, it IS cool what they are doing but i .... have my doubts if zelda is the right place for that)
ill stop there bc i have ranted so much about everything i dont wanna repeat it here again; it just doesnt feel like a real game (derogatory), it feels extra bad bc i was not really into zelda when botw came out and while i did get it as soon as i could (months after release since i just started a minijob and didnt have the money) i only over time grew to love zelda this much again, devouring any theories and anything about it bc i loved it so much- i was never into it like this when a new title was announced and dont own any special editions so i bought the totk collectors bc i was just so damn excited for it after the 2019 trailer dropped (god i want that time back ... it looked so much more like it was going to be an actual sequel) even if i was already worried it wouldnt be good at that point given how much i started to sense stuff i dont like about the newer trailers
i recently sold it at our local gameshop bc it was like a thorn in my side given how expensive it was and how dissapointed i was in the game, i genuinely think that, technical impressiveness aside, totk is the onyl zelda i truly cannot stand (for alot of reasons) and im genuinely worried for the future of the franchise
i bought an Oki (Okami) figurine for what i got back and i feel much happier with that :3
(also on a note, i did finish the game two weeks after release but stopped playing it right then and hadnt touched it since, i also streamed all of what i played and its still up if you want to see my slow descend into madness fjkdhkdhjk though its been a long while since then and i by far did not talk about everything back then, just what my most immediate frustrations were while still playing)
(also the gameplay isnt as good as people make it out to be, so much is so frustrating and punishing to use i am kinda baffled it got through like that and most people call that its best aspect ..... though i guess if the rest is so much worse even mid gameplay can seem good ooooooooh how dare i)
also thank you for liking what i do!!! <3 it means alot to know it is appreciated by someone :D

I wonder why Chris Rodriguez joined Luke in the first place. Was he jaded against the gods like Luke was? Was he following his older brother's example? And then I wonder how he coped after the Labyrinth. How did it feel to know he was basically sent on a desperate suicide mission with almost no chance of success? How did it feel to know that the camp he turned his back on, the children of the gods he had renounced, one of the very gods he had been working to destroy, ended up saving him? What was going through his mind when he came back from his madness at Camp Half-Blood thanks to one of the very gods Luke and Kronos insisted didn't care about him? Is that why he chose to stay? Did he realize Luke was wrong about Camp Half-Blood and about at least some of the gods when they welcomed him back with open arms? Did he see Dionysus save him and realize that the gods are capable of caring when it matters? Did he realize that there was a chance for the gods to be better? Did he realize there was another way to get what they wanted without war and death and deals with monsters and Titans? Is that why Chris Rodriguez chose to stay at Camp Half-Blood rather than return to the Titan army?

So uh, I kiiiinda forgot I had a HB-themed blog in the midst of me feeling the itch for HB redesigns... figured I'd might as well fix that with this recent Stolas family piece I did not too long ago-
(Now, as mentioned before on my DA post, I honestly have nothing against either Stolas, Octavia, nor Stella's canon designs.... Iiii just feel like as high-ranking demon birds, a lil "variety" tweaked in could lowkey go a long way the more I thought about it?)
Aaaand here, here's a quick lil rundown of what I had in mind for my own personal interpretations (AU, HC? Idk what exact term fits best but... *shrugs*):
DA Link~
For Stolas, I tried to tone down all the black & red from his previous design to a more "autumn sunset sky"-aesthetic (+ditched the big top hat 'cause like... you're a royal my dude, don't you just need a crown? lol), gave him a gradient starry cape instead of that old ripped one 'cause I always loved how the star cape looked on him from the "Ozzie's" episode, popped in some grey streaks in his hair, and then finally unified his outfit to a purple & black theme like a classic Disney villain~
For Octavia, I went with a classy "indigo night sky" vibe with lil gold accents, then shortened her hair to a fanned bob (kiiinda looking like bird wings, in a way?) along with adding some more "blended" features from her mom and dad just 'cause .3.
As for Stella... honestly I've fallen *way* too in love with the "Stella is a Swan" fan-theory ('cause yknow... she's all-white, black & pink beaked, elegant-looking but bitchy af in-person, etc.) that I couldn't resist incorporating more swan-y vibes to her design. Then I relaxed her big choppy hair to a more "refined" half-up/half-down style (+some extra feather tufts to still fit with her peacock bro Andrealphus), gave her more of a mermaid-shaped dress to fit her regal noble-lady vibe, then I simply left it a gradient pink/black in terms of colors 'cause... idk, it just reminded me alot of fancy Chanel-aesthetics~

Kristoph Gets Fawkin Murdered While Apollo Is Still Working For Him AU WIP
I have no idea if I'm going to write more of this but I'd like to gauge what the interest is in this scenario. Several people seemed interested in my post from a bit ago about an AU where Kristoph is killed while Apollo is working for him similarly to Mia and Phoenix's situation. BUT, there's a twist. Somehow it turned into.... this.
Let me know what you think. Full WIP is below the cut...
(CW for semigraphic details of violence/injury and use of weapons)
---
At first, Apollo thinks that Kristoph must be out of the office. "Hello? Sir? I brought the documents you requested…"
But the lights are on, even though there's nobody at Kristoph's desk. Kristoph wouldn't leave the office without turning the lights off.
Apollo steps further into the room, almost mindlessly. There doesn't seem to be anyone in here, after all-
And then-
Apollo takes a step back when he sees what he's certain must be Mr. Gavin's corpse.
Apollo has seen what images of dead people look like - he knows. Mr. Gavin is lying supine on the floor, red blood trickling down his temple and forming a small puddle on the floor. His shiny glasses are some feet away, smashed to smithereens - it looks like someone has stepped on them with force. His eyes are closed; he's completely still. His hair's undone, tangled blond sticky with blood. He's been beaten badly - dark bruising blooming over one eye, and his cheekbone, but the head wound appears to be the worst of it.
Apollo doesn't move, can't move. This is the worst of his worst nightmares. He knew that Phoenix Wright had found his mentor, Mia Fey, in a similar state, just like this. And she didn't make it.
Next thing he knows, Apollo is surging forward with a cry, adrenalin driving him on. He drops to his knees near Kristoph's body. Getting a better look doesn't help matters. He's really dead. Somebody… somebody killed him. Tears spring to his eyes. Mr. Gavin had taught him everything he knew about law. Mr. Gavin… cared about him. And that was one more person that Apollo just had to lose, from his biological father, to his adoptive father, to…
No use crying now. Have to start investigating. Now! Apollo had to find the culprit. Whoever did this had to deal with Justice.
Just then, Apollo heard a quiet sound in the otherwise silent room. He stared at Mr. Gavin's corpse. The sound came once again.
…Was it… a soft moan?
Apollo's first thought was that he didn't want to put his fingerprints onto a corpse, especially if it could ruin other evidence for forensics. But now…
Apollo's hand dropped delicately to Kristoph's pulse point. "M… Mr. Gavin, can you hear me? It's Justice!"
After a very long moment, Apollo watched as Mr. Gavin's eye twitched, definitely a twitch, one time, two times, then slowly opened, pained and hazy. Apollo almost fell over with relief.
But he wasn't out of the woods yet. And there was a chance he might not make it.
Fumbling his phone, Apollo dialed for an ambulance as fast as he was able, blurting out the first thing he could think to ask as he did so. "Sir, tell me, who did this to you? Who did this?"
Another soft moan, barely even audible. It was clear Kristoph couldn't move, could barely talk. He's probably in a lot of pain… But his lips were moving, and Apollo had to drop to the floor to hear the barely-there whisper. "E… Enigma…"
"Enigma? Enigma?" Apollo didn't know any Enigma, but it was better than nothing. The other end of the line picked up and Apollo screamed down it as loud as he could. "Hello?? We need an ambulance, please, at Gavin Law Offices, Mr. Gavin is-"
"Slow down, if you please - what's the address of the emergency, sir?" The woman on the other end of the line sounded tired, but she did stay on the line with Apollo while they waited for an ambulance to arrive.
"Does he have a pulse?"
"Y-yes, but it's very weak, there's blood everywhere, and-"
"Is he breathing?"
"Yes, but just barely, please send somebody soon-"
"They're on their way to you, kid. Just tell me if anything changes."
"It'll be okay." Apollo promises. Apollo isn't good at being soothing in an emergency. That's usually Mr. Gavin's job. All Apollo can try to do is think of how he would handle this situation. He'd tell me to calm down, breathe. Assess my options. Stay alert, but relax.
Mr. Gavin's hand seems okay where it's lying limply at his side. Not knowing what else to do, Apollo picks it up, holds it, and tries to be comforting - but realistically, this is a time where he'd want to hold his mentor's hand anyway, if it were somebody else bleeding out on the ground, so it's as much for Apollo's comfort as Kristoph's. They breathe, they wait, they watch, and Kristoph watches Apollo dimly out of the one eye that he can open.
"S'all gonna be okay." Apollo forces a smile out. Then he has to get up to let the paramedics in with the stretcher. Apollo thinks about asking to ride along in the ambulance, but Kristoph is so out of it that Apollo is pretty sure it won't matter if he just jumps on his bike and books it to the hospital ahead of the triage team.
-
Apollo sits in the waiting area of the triage center for a long time. Every hour he gets up to speak with reception and begs them for an update, and every time he is denied, until hour six.
A nurse takes him aside, and tells him.
Apollo is empty inside. Kristoph didn't make it.
-
The only person at the funeral who really cried was Kristoph's little brother, and Apollo could understand that.
Klavier hugs him, thanks him very deeply and sincerely for staying.
"You know," Klavier says, wiping away the tears that just seem to keep on coming, "I know that you being there really comforted him. It brings me so much comfort to know that he wasn't all alone. Thank you. Thank you."
"It… it was the least I could do." I should've done so much more. I should've been there. I should've saved him. If we had both fought, we would have been able to take whoever did this. We could've beaten Enigma… Apollo's whole body aches.
An Enigma. A puzzle.
Apollo checks the guestbook several times for anybody's signature that even looks something like "Enigma". But nothing jumps out.
"Mr. Wright."
"Sorry. I shouldn't be hanging around here."
"Weren't you Mr. Gavin's friend?"
"Yeah, I was. But he wouldn't want me showing up to this. Hey, listen. I want you to go to Central Hospital later today. Go to the tenth floor and ask to see David Krisler."
"Wh-what?"
"Four PM. No later. I'll see you there."
-
Apollo shows up as requested.
He feels funny, asking to visit somebody that he doesn't even know. What will he say if the nurse asks what his relation to the man is?
But nobody asks. The nurse brings him past a set of double doors and all the way to the end of the corridor. "He's in there. They're expecting you." is all she says before shuffling away.
More confused than ever, Apollo steps into the room. Is this some sort of a setup? What the hell did Mr. Wright lead me into?
The room is dim and warm, with all the window blinds down, and just one light on. Behind a sterile drape on the other side of the room, Apollo catches snippets of a conversation.
"-and not for nothing, but I'll know it when I see it-"
"Kris, the chances of anyone figuring anything out are about a million to one-"
The two people talking are Mr. Wright, and a very familiar voice. Apollo's heart surges as he takes a few quick steps forward, behind the curtain.
Both people go quiet and look up at him straightaway, Mr. Wright and none other than Mr. Gavin himself. Mr. Wright sits in a plastic chair at the side of a hospital bed. Mr. Gavin is in said hospital bed, which has been reclined to a level at which he can sit up most of the way. He still doesn't have his glasses, and his hair is a mess and he looks worse for wear, with big purple bruises covering one side of his face and his left eye swollen almost completely shut. The side of his head is bandaged and he looks awfully exhausted besides all that. Apollo isn't used to seeing him like this - weak, supine, vulnerable. It makes him look like a stranger. But he gives Apollo a tired smile.
"Close the door, Apollo. We've got a lot to talk about." Mr. Wright says evenly.
Apollo does. When he walks back to the bed, he realizes that there are no more seats. "Go ahead and sit at the foot of the bed if you're comfortable, Apollo. This is going to take awhile."
"Okay. I… I have so many questions I don't even know how to start, but… your funeral was today, sir."
"I heard."
"But… but you're not dead."
"Correct. Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated." Kristoph takes a slow, labored breath.
Apollo sniffs hard and wipes tears out of his eyes. He can't help this. Every time his adrenalin runs down and he's relieved, this happens. He can't help but become a crying mess.
"Can I… do you mind if I… h-hug you?"
Kristoph and Phoenix both laugh lightly. Apollo doesn't see what's funny about any of this. "I don't think you'd better, Apollo, not right now. Your boss is a bit fragile right now, so maybe no touch is the way to go." Phoenix says. Even though Phoenix says it, Apollo looks to Kristoph, who doesn't say anything in response to that, doesn't nod, but neither does he object, indicating that he agrees with Phoenix's assessment.
Apollo knows that Mr. Gavin doesn't like hugs very much, regardless of what's going on, but Apollo wanted the comfort and confirmation so badly that he'd thought there'd be no harm in asking. Now he bites his tongue. He won't ask any more silly questions.
"We… we have to go tell Klavier that you're alive. He'll be so happy, he-"
"Apollo, we can't tell anyone."
"…What? Why not?"
"If the one who attacked me knew I was still alive and kicking… he'd no doubt return to finish the job."
"Y-you mean Enigma?"
"Yes, Enigma. His full name is Shadi Enigmar. He is my assailant. Of that, I am certain." Kristoph nods with the utmost seriousness. "You must find him, corner him in court, and bring him to Justice. Understood?"
"Yes, sir."
"Once this matter is dealt with, I may be able to reveal my ruse. But until then, here I will stay. Until that time, Phoenix will be in charge of this case, and of you."
"Of… of me?"
"I can think of no one better to keep an eye on you, Justice. I want you to follow his words as if they were my own."
Kristoph sighed deeply. "There is another reason why. Shadi Enigmar is a very dangerous and deceitful man. He shows no mercy in his choice of victim - young or old, it's all the same to him. The last thing I want is for you to come to harm because of your connection to me. Unfortunately, you are likely his next target, but Wright will protect you with his life if need be. He's my good friend, and I trust him in this regard."
"This is a very dangerous assignment. I don't want you taking any unnecessary risks." Kristoph hands Apollo a piece of paper.
"What's this?"
"The combination code to my gun safe."
Apollo shudders. "Wh-what?"
"Yes. Even when you aren't investigating, you need to be carrying all the time, no matter where you are."
"I barely know anything about guns!" Who does he think I am?? James Bond?
"Wright will show you the proper methods. Obviously, it's for self defense purposes only. You need to be able to protect yourself. Had I been able to reach a weapon in time, all of this may have gone differently, no?"
"I don't want to shoot anybody."
"Well, when the time comes, you'll know what to do. I should hope you will protect yourself in due course."
Kristoph takes his hand in his. "Be smart and be safe."
---
That's all I have for now... :P (don't ask me what happens next because I don't know... you tell me lol)

interesting how people think this was a “happy” ending. on the contrary, everyone is in the exact position korn wants them to be. kp “ended” with korn winning and manipulating everyone again. therefore, it is not an end, but setting up a whole new plot.
korn killed gun before he could finish what he was going to say about nampheung. what was it? we don’t know. he said “history is written by the victors” when he saw the pic of kinn and porsche in love. he is using their love to his advantage and by making porsche head of the minor family, he eliminated a huge threat bc he knows porsche would never betray kinn. he has leverage over porsche and he can oversee everything. he has won.
korn is the one who killed porsche’s father. when porsche had his first flashback he saw gun sitting down and korn standing. so gun’s explanation seemed to be true. he was about to spoil a secret so dire that korn had to instantly kill him for fear kp would hear it.
now, there are so many loose ends to tie and plots to uncover. what is nampheung’s deal? was she pretending all this time? what was gun going to say? what was korn’s plan all along?
he is moving everyone around like chess pieces. at the end of the first episode, he began his chest match and said “let’s begin.” the events of whole show have been korn’s doing. he has won the match. if he has won, it cannot end there. there must be justice.
the way I see it, there is so much to go on from here with a second season. kinn and porsche still have to realise korn’s deceit. and the only way to take korn down is if kinn realises all this himself and dethrone’s korn by his own choice. with porsche’s help. and perhaps even vegas’s help. kinn still needs to grow into the strong mafia leader and be the true head of the main family instead of listening to his father’s orders. and the journey to that point is not easy.

at the request of absolutely nobody, i present my vaguely fleshed out steddie mummy au
sources: i still own the mummy on vhs
there’s a possibility that the whole story of hamunaptra could be tweaked a bit to fit the story of henry creel/vecna/one into imhotep’s story, but the actual nitty gritty doesn’t matter as much as the actual dynamics and relationships between stobin and eddie. the important part is that a man is cursed to be buried alive, immortal but destined to awaken only to take vengeance.
fast forward and eddie munson ends up drafted into the military. (rick is apart of the french foreign legion stationed in egypt, and i’m not entirely sure how he manages it but eddie munson is apparently a colonel). things happen and eddie finds himself running away from the battlefield, only to stumble upon the ruins of hamunaptra. except they aren’t really ruins and hamunaptra is a myth. so he runs, but when he gets back to the city, alone and half dead, eddie finds that in his rush to leave, he’s grabbed some sort of puzzle box.
at the same time, one robin buckley has dedicated her life to learning more about ancient egypt. her passion for languages led her down a rabbit hole, and she drags her brother steve to egypt with her for further study.
robin is set up with a job at a small museum, working as an archivist. unfortunately, it’s a lot more tedious than she anticipated. it would be a lot better if she could work with steve, but forgetting his glasses at home nearly everyday isn’t super helpful when it comes to trying to sort books.
so what is steve doing in egypt, you may ask? evie’s brother jonathan in the movie literally schlepped around egypt fucking around with his sister and figuring out his next get rich scheme. steve isn’t really the type to open up his own nightclub in shanghai (a la the mummy: tomb of the dragon emperor), but just like jonathan, steve happens to stumble across a cryptex containing a map of the lost city of hamunaptra.
as an aside: i see steve doing the same minimum wage jobs he did in hawkins, just in egypt. i think it would be funny and makes so much more sense to me than him kind of skulking around for news of possible treasure. (bonus: the party in egypt, and dustin coming up to steve with a “brand new discovery” and it’s eddie’s puzzle box that he’s swiped. (THOUGH NOTE: evie and jonathan’s family is Rich. Rich Loaded. Rich Loaded British. So honestly, he doesn’t even have to work)
either way, when robin opens the cryptex and finds the map, she’s astonished. this is what she’s dreamed of her whole life—being an explorer and discovering lost civilizations. so she gets steve to find out where the puzzle box came from. his search leads them to the prison, where eddie munson is destined for execution.
the two of them talk to eddie, and eddie tells robin he’s seen hamunaptra in person. he’s been there. he’s walked the same sand that pharaohs had and seen the ruins that no other have laid their hands on. but eddie refuses to tell them the location, but steve convinces (bribes) the warden to let him go.
so the three of them set off to the city of the dead.
the details of the trip would make this post way too long, but i’m thinking about dynamics rn…
eddie is a little standoffish at first, sure that these rich kids won’t be able to handle themselves, and he’ll be stuck carting around two spoiled brats. and robin and steve don’t necessarily trust him. robin is wide eyed and blinded by eddie’s knowledge of hamunaptra, but steve keeps trying to keep her in check.
at first, eddie thinks steve is cold to him because of some upstairs/downstairs prejudice or big brother protectiveness. and eddie flirts even harder with robin, delighted every time he sees a scowl on steve’s face. even if robin keeps rolling her eyes and ignoring him, he isn’t looking at her anyways. he’s too busy searching steve’s eyes for some spark of disapproval. he doesn’t see that though. he sees worry and concern and fear. and that’s when eddie starts warming up to them.

I think the comics should synergise a tiny little bit with the movies in regard to High Evoloutionary and Rocket being enemies. Not that I think it should be exactly like the messed up abusive creator/creation dynamic of the film (lord knows Rocket’s comic backstory is enough of an inconsistent mess already), but instead more like “this powerful, 1000+ IQ smug intellectual man who basically sees himself as/is pretty much a god-like being, gets shaken to his core/royalty pissed off when he’s out done intellectually by a fucking 3-ft tall furry abomination”

hello again, hime! ;3 Let's imagine a scenario with Leumin.
Context: MC is being irritated by someone (like a "rival" or an old enemy from school who bullied MC and still bullies them.)
So, MC gets uncomfortable and irritated and decides to share this with Leumin. but ends up talking too much, without thinking. like:
"MC: y'know, Leu... I hate that guy so much. Seriously, he's so stupid and irritating. I just wish him to disappear from my life. Die, or whatever...
Leumin: ...understood."
After this event, would Leumin do anything about it? would he do something extreme like, I don't know...maybe >anonymously< hand over the decapitated head of this MC's "rival" as if it were an innocent little gift?
(I have unpleasant thoughts, sorry💀 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHS)
Hey there, my lovely friend 😌 Oooh, I love scenarios!! 👀
Honestly, Leumin would never want to do anything that incriminates himself in his beloved's eyes... And yet, he also wouldn't just sit around idly after finding out that some guy that harassed you years ago is still doing it- I genuinely think the rest of his rationality would fly out the window and his desire to make you happy and eliminate every source of anguish for you (within his power) would take over. And in the end, that guy who was bothering you would no longer even be a thought of and would wind up on the nightly news, found as a mangled corpse in his own house. The funeral would have to be a closed casket, of course.
And if his beloved were to question him about his involvement in the bully's death, I think he would just smile sweetly and ask: "If it made you happy, petal... I'd do it again, too." 💗

I think it’s pretty obvious ea is going to announce a fairy’s pack soon… first of all, I HOPEE this is just a game pack like all the occults, cause doing a whole ep for that would be insane. Second of all. Honestly for me, I’m not excited at all about that, I never get to play with occults, is not my gameplay style so for me this is just meh… what I would prefer is worlds with new cultural representation… we’re lacking of worlds based on Latin America countries, European countries, more Asian countries, African countries, I know a lot of ppl will enjoy the fairy’s for sure, but I think I speak for the majority of us that we prefer better cultural appreciation for everyone…

Look. I get that folks who are approaching the finale from this angle are usually doing so from a place of genuine good faith and love for Joel. But like. If your immediate reaction after finishing season 1 is to insist that the cure never could have been developed/distributed/tested/viable and that the Fireflies were stupid/naive/slapdicks/never could have accomplished it anyways, so Joel Definitely Did Nothing Wrong, I can’t help but feel like you’re wildly missing the point of it all.
Because like. Joel did not ever care if the cure could have worked. He did not care if it’s what Ellie might have wanted in that moment (neither did the fireflies of course, but they’re not the ones who traveled by her side, protected her, made her feel safe and cared about). Neither of these were ever a point of consideration in the finale. Ellie’s death and the resultant hypothetical cure could have had a guaranteed 100% success rate. It could have spread instantly, around the world the moment they removed her brain from her skull, turning every single runner, clicker, and bloater back to a healthy human being, with no deleterious side effect.
And Joel still would have shot that doctor point blank in the face.
Because that moment right there, is the point. To me at least. It’s the climax that the whole story has been building towards: a father’s beautiful, selfish decision to save his daughter at the literal cost of the entire world. And not just the world in an abstract sense, but in ways that carry weight to him on a deeply personal level. Tess’ dying wish. A real future for his niece or nephew. Ellie’s own agency in all of this. And he did it without hesitating for a moment.
Going from treating Ellie like cargo, like a clicker waiting to happen, to deciding that her life is more important to him than than any other human being who was or ever will be born? Regardless of whether it’s “““healthy”””, that’s an incredible fucking relationship arc. And it only has this level of gravity and meaning if there are genuine consequences to making that decision.
(And let me be clear here: none of this is a moral indictment of Joel. Joel’s motivations, actions, decisions etc. are all incredibly blatant, human, and relatable, and if he’d done anything but go on that rampage, it would have contradicted everything we know and understand about him so far. Also, he’s fucking fictional. Who gives a shit if he did a Kinda Amoral Thing. None of it is real, and it doesn’t matter)
The argument here isn’t that Fireflies Good And Smart And Can Totally Save The World For Sure Guys, or Joel Did Objectively Bad Thing And Is Unforgivable Bad Forever Now. The argument is that the show is much more interesting and internally consistent if you buy into the idea that there’s a chance, even a slim one, that the fireflies could have extracted a viable vaccine at the terrible cost of a fourteen year old girl’s life. That maybe Joel did prevent a cure from being made – that he potentially did doom the world for Ellie (or at least doomed it to another few decades of limping painfully by until something else came along). And that despite the cost, he pulled that trigger, brutally and without hesitation. He did it knowing that he’ll have to go on living with the knowledge of what he took from everyone, and how effortless it was to make that choice in spite of it all. That he’ll willingly betray Ellie’s trust as many times as he has to if it means keeping her from taking the burden of that guilt on herself, but also because he can’t bear the thought of her hating him if she learned the truth. And most of all (and in his own words), that if he was given the chance to go back and do it again, he would have made the exact same choice all over.
You take that out, and what kinda finale do you get now? A run and gun scene of a man rescuing a girl that he’s come to love, sure, but now it’s from a bunch of one dimensional, child murdering villains, set in a place they never had to go to, preceded by a journey that was rendered useless before they even left, all because there was never any chance of it working in the first place. Pointless roundabout cynicism, and an endpoint that now textually only existed to stick the protagonists in their get along sweater.
You don’t have to agree with this specific interpretation of the ending. I get that this can come across as a harsh reading of Joel, especially since he’s a character that myself and others genuinely like a lot. But that nitpicky fixation on proving that the cure never could have worked always felt more for the benefit of the uncomfortable player/viewer than as any sort of actual narrative improvement. A way to divest yourself of ever having to sit with the weight of either choice. Of having to think about the way that a secret so massive, sitting unspoken between you and a loved one, can rot that relationship. Of the way that someone you thought you trusted can act in your best interests, but against your own wishes.
And if that’s not what you want from the show, genuinely and without judgment: that’s fine. You keep doing you. I’m just not sure why you’re watching something like tlou otherwise.

You know how Lord of the Rings portal self inserts are an enduring classic? I feel like transmigrated into Celebrian could be a whole genre. It has it all! Romance, tragedy, jewelry, a powerful mind reading witch-mom who is likely to notice her daughter being possessed. You're a Princess(ish) with all of the attendant outfit opportunities. You may or may not be hanging out with Celebrimbor trying to avert tragedy, invent some kind of trans dimensional portal or at least figure out what happened to you. It's got the juice. If transmigrated into Celebrian is in fact a whole genre and i just missed it please pass the links.
