ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁✰ With Leon and hybrid! reader…

As much as I love a good Leon and hybrid! reader fic… there needs to be more variety! Puppies are cute and so are bunnies and kitties, but what about birds? Or deer? Fish?

Warnings?: None! Purely SFW, fluffy content.

Note:(These are all my hc’s and ideas on those specific hybrid mixes, sorta just random lol).

With Bird Hybrid! Reader…

Like, imagine Leon with a bird hybrid. He’d be absolutely mesmerized with your pretty wings. They could be a pretty brown, like a finches. Or a colorful rainbow, like a Scarlet Macaw’s.

Of course, there would be feathers everywhere. On the bed, the couch, the floor… but Leon doesn’t mind. Not one bit. In fact, he’d collect them all, keep them safe in a jar or in a drawer. All those feathers are precious to him, because they were once a part of you.

Though the cleanup certainly does take a while. And it mayyy occasionally have him huffing to himself.

you’d wake him up with your pretty chirps, the sound reaching his ears like a sweet bell. The soft, excited flapping of your wings send a light breeze, eliciting goosebumps to emerge on his skin. Such a great thing to wake up to, really. Even if he’s a little grumpy at times.

Even if it comes with the occasional grumbled: “Jeez, if I wanted a morning rooster i’d get one…”

Did I mention he loves your wings? He loves your wings. And you do too. You take great care of them. The hybrid center provides preening help; due to a lack of a beak, you have to use specialized items from the center. Such as specific oils and moisturizers, (and Leon helps on occasion too when he can! Just a simple pinch and twist and a pin feather is out whenever you go through a molt).

Having to research birds in general before retrieving you from the center, Leon had already picked up on a lot of your behavior. Your feathers fluff up on a particularly cold day? He’s immediately by your side trying to warm you up. Your pupils dilate upon seeing something interesting? He points it out and brings you closer.

Though of course, those behaviors could come from negative causes as well. Such as seeing something distressing or hearing something loud. Leon soothes you as best as he can, cooing reassurances and comforting words.

“Hey, birdie. Look at me. S’okay, yeah? Just focus on me. I got you.”

With Deer Hybrid! Reader…

I’d like to imagine that instead of retrieving you from the center, he’d find you in a forest. It’s a few days into winter and theres a light fluff of snow coating everything: the trees, the grass, and you.

He’s on his way back home from a mission, but due to how far he is he decides to stay at a cabin for the night. The sight is pretty, and despite the cold, it’s cozy.

Though, just as he’s bringing his things in, something catches his eye. It’s you, standing a few feet away, curiously mesmerized by the pretty light emitting from the cabin’s interior.

Your antlers (if masc) stand tall and proud, covered in a light layer of snow.

(If fem) Your pretty ears flicker lightly, the slow falling snow landing on them and painting them white.

Leon’s completely entranced. From your doe eyes to the tail attached to you, a light brown with a pearly white underneath. He’s heard of hybrids before, but only the typical ones. You, you’re different.

And he has to have you. So he spends several days at that cabin, more than he’d admit. Forgetting about his original goal to head home, he makes a new one.

Throughout those days, he leaves food. Attempting to coax you closer, just enough to see the pretty fur on your ears and tail. You’re so skittish, so easily spooked away. And at times it gets frustrating, but he pushes through.

Because he needs you. and he will get you. Besides, he kinda has that hunter mentality at times, doesn’t he?

(I can’t decide on if a deer hybrid would have a satyr-like appearance, since with just the ears and tail it gets boring. So, for the time being i’m going with that!)

With Fish Hybrid! Reader…

With hybrid centers, I like to think that there’s different ones that cater to whatever specific type of hybrids they have under their care.

So for aquatic hybrids, they’d have a more aquarium built center.

And when you piqué Leon’s interest, he immediately looks into proper care for aquatics online.

Oh boy, that’s a lot of money.

Not a big deal for an agent like him. So, he buys the best of the best. Though, that involves some renovations to his place of stay. After all, you need a huge tank, and lots of water.

not to mention filters and tank decorations… it’s a whole process, alright?

However, once you’re moved in— Leon finds himself rather frustrated. He’s completely hypnotized by the way you move underwater, the ethereal blue glow making the scales of your tail gain an iridescent glow. But, he can’t really touch you, now can he?

He needs air to breath, and you can’t stay out of water.

But that doesn’t stop him. Because even if his heart flutters just by seeing you, he needs more. Pressing his palm against the glass of your huge tank isn’t enough. Besides, he can swim, right?

Well, not frequently. But with you in his life, swimming has become a part of it too. Constantly, he finds himself in your tank until his skin starts to prune. Only then will he get out.

In the water, he doesn’t hesitate on touching you. His fingertips glide against your scales, feeling the smooth center of the hard shells all the way to the sharp edges. It never fails to send pleasant shivers down his spine.

“Pretty,” he’d comment in a soft murmur, eyes slowly tracing over the outline of every cycloid scale.

What type of fish are you? A multicolored Koi? A sunny goldfish? Or maybe a neon Beta? It doesn’t matter, whatever you are; Leon is absolutely smitten.

The water may be cold, but somehow, you manage to warm him up every time. He’s careful not to damage your delicate fins whenever he embraces you with his arms. He wishes he could hold you forever, wishes the elements weren’t so cruel in this case.

But for now, he’s content with what he has. For you, it’s all worth it.

(Essentially, reader’s appearance is that of a mermaid’s. But, I didn’t wanna consider it mermaid exactly cause, there’s like so much pretty fish with different forms and shapes. That’s more interesting to me than a typical mermaid, iykwim LOL).

I had to research so much y’all omg.

ANYWAYS, these were my little random ass ideas on those specific hybrid types. Most of it was bad building BUT I tried my best so. I hope you liked reading!

Main Trio With A S/O That Loves Reading - A Little Too Much

Not happy.

At all.

I’m sorry.

But he’s not.

Having your face being sucked into a book 24/7 doesn’t let you leave with much attention for him.

He’s attention deprived put down the dang book and hug him.

Another reason that fuels his hatred for your love of books is because your behavior reminds him of Deku - like, a lot.

If he wasn’t deeply in love with you he would have tossed you into a garbage can, but he’s Bakugo so he’ll probably do that anyway.

But if it really mattered that much to you, he’d respect it.

And probably take his anger out on Midoriya instead.

I doubt he’ll surprise you with books as gifts, considering the fact that you have every known book in the universe written by every author ever.

But if you ever see a book you like, he’ll buy it for you, even if you already do have twenty different copies of the same book with different covers.

And no, he won’t let you pay for it yourself.

If you even try, he’ll start yelling and angrily threaten to murder the cashier’s entire family if they accept your payment instead of his.

“SHUT UP, I DON’T CARE IF ITS ILLEGAL, IF HE DOESN’T TAKE MY MONEY I’M TAKING HIS GODDAMN LIFE.”

He’ll hardly ever openly show his respect or liking for your hobby ever.

Yes, dating Midoriya is great and all.

But if you start reading too much and disregarding your studies, he takes it upon himself AS HIS DUTY AS YOUR BOYFRIEND TO KINDLY DRAG YOU AWAY FROM YOUR BOOKCASE

He appreciates your interests, but won’t let you fail school.

So don’t even think about it.

I seriously doubt he sees the root of your interests at first.

He’s understand right away if it were textbooks for school - cause its educational.

But fantasy books and the like? I doubt he’d get it immediately.

Whether you like books or not he’d treat you the same either way.

He’s a mix of Bakugo and Todoroki.

He would never let you fail school.

And at the same time, buys you all the books you want.

With the money he took from Endeavor’s wallet.

“Huh? Oh don’t worry about the cost. Its not my money anyway.”

You’ll never need to worry about paying for your books again.

Besides, if his dad does find about him stealing the money he’ll emotionally guilt trip him into giving him allowance.

Its a win/win anyway!

You get a book and he gets to annoy his dad.

He loves seeing your eyes light up as you glimpse at your new book and watching your grin getting progressively wider.

His house is huge too, so I bet they have a library or at least a ridiculously large bookcase. Either way, he’d take you to his house and while he works on his homework, you skim through the books.

He loves those moments near you - even if you aren’t talking or touching, you’re just there, and thats all he needs.

Senku!Reader Imposter AU

(I mean like reader with big brain like senku)

"It cracked again." You scribbled down notes in your notebook. NileRed was right, aerogel is so freaking fragile.

This was the 4th time in a row that your aerogel had cracked. To be fair, in a way, it was still aerogel. But you wanted it perfect, more perfect than NileRed, more perfect than any other aerogel in the world.

You could feel tears of frustration threatening to fall. It had been a stressful week. Another failed prototype, another mistake you had to fix. I should take a break, you thought, Theres always tomorrow.

It was only 7 in the evening, way too early to head to bed, yet you could feel the exhaustion slowly entering your system. But, it wouldn’t hurt to try again, right?

It, in fact, hurt a lot to try again. Hours passed by, reading through what felt like a million research papers and non-stop annotating made your hand ache and your eyes droopy. I guess closing my eyes for a second would be okay…

You woke up to the sun right above you. The warmth of the grass felt so warm and inviting- wait… grass? Your eyes wide open and you sat up so fast that you could have gotten whiplash.

In front of you were 2 squirrels digging around a familiar bag. Your backpack. But how could it be here? It should be on your desk. You should be at your desk.

The scene in front of you felt real, and… familiar? It didn’t take long for you to see a very large statue nearby. You were sure it looked exactly like a statue in Genshin Impact. But that couldn’t be. It’s just a game, it doesn’t exist in real life, right? And on your left, in the distance, was a city with massive windmills spinning and a massive castle with pointy tops. You looked up and saw glowing butterflies. Crystalflies? Teyvat?

You stood up and picked up your bag. In your bag were loose pens, notebooks and notes. Nothing looked out of the ordinary, other than your location of course. On the ground was the notebook you were just scribbling on before you fell asleep. You picked it up and flipped through it, but everything looked the same. Maybe you were going crazy, but even if that was the case, a little vacation would be nice. And so off you went, towards the city that looked suspiciously like the city of freedom.

This isn’t how your vacation was supposed to go. You’re running out of oxygen, but you could hear the footsteps behind you. The screams of angry citizens and knights. The vile curses that spewed out of their mouths. God, when will it stop. You’ve been running for hours now with no rest. Your stomach was rumbling and your legs were screaming to stop, but you knew if you did, it would be the end.

You watched as an arrow flew right by you. You felt the sting of it slicing your leg. You saw the arrow covered in blood land in front of you right in a tree. You need to stop, you can’t run forever.

You jumped down a ledge and hid between some rocks and bushes. You heard the footsteps slowly come to a halt.

“Master Jean, we can’t go to Wolvendom, its too dangerous and most of us are too tired, we won’t make it.”

“This imposter has to be tired, she won’t make it through the night.”

A series of quiet agreements could be heard.

“Let’s head back, but tomorrow, we return to ensure that this.. this imposter is gone for good. We can’t allow anybody to defile the name of our creator as blatantly as this creature.”

You let out the breath you were holding in once you heard them leave. You looked at your leg and saw so much blood. It was definitely going to be infected. In front of you was a worn down carriage surrounded by small lamp grass that glowed in the dim forest. It wasn’t much, but at least you had shelter.

You limped over and took a seat on the tree root in the carriage. You needed a plan of action. You’ve read enough SAGAU fics to know what’s about to happen to you. Luckily, you were a loser who spent way too much time studying the lore of teyvat and had some basic knowledge in first aid. But where were you going to find bandages and cleaning alcohol? You remember that wolf berries had medicinal properties, but could it heal your wound?

“You smell… familiar.”

Elder Bones, can we get more info on ShadowClan's territory? They live at a bog, right?

I won't put out too much yet, because I want to make another research guide on wetlands in England the way that my lowland heath document covered what moorland is. That research opened my eyes to how important peat, fire, and management should be to WindClan's culture, and so I'm expecting something similar to happen when I dive into what their bog is.

But I DO know that the bog of the Forest and the bog of the Lake are going to be quite different. That is because the Lake is in active development during the Settlement Era (Po3), where the old Forest bog was downright medieval-ancient.

The Lake bog also has a SPECIFIC NAMED model, unlike the others which take a little from a lot of areas. It's the Black Moss in Delamere Forest-- a developing quaking bog which is an EARTH-SHATTERING success for the Wetland Vision project in the UK. I'm in love with it. I want to learn everything about it and explain why it's so awe-inspiring

(The area is also fucking gorgeous btw, I want to show everyone pictures of how breathtaking it is-- the moss enfolds the ground like a velvet blanket and the water seeps up to meet your step. The trees sprawl above you and cast dappled sunlight on the greenery, as if the sun is painting the definition of beauty before your very eyes. Also theres toads)

Anyway though, some various things about bogs;

Bogs are acidic, a fen is alkaline. I know very little about fens, besides that there's a few of them in the south

Like moor, bogs are so important for carbon capture that the destruction of any wetland makes me feel physically ill

Dead matter is quickly covered by fresh, living things, so the bottom layer is basically in permanent arrested decay

because of that, gas bubbles to the surface on occasion. That's why they're smelly sometimes! It means there's MUCH MORE down there that the bog is saving you from!! You're WELCOME!!!

It's a pretty bad area to be in over winter; everything freezes, falling into the water can become deadly, and a lot of the prey hibernates.

In other seasons, it's bountiful. Insects, amphibians, frogs, birds, fish, and mammals live here, you can get some good eats in a bog. ShadowClan has the most varied diet of the forest four.

A "swamp" is actually a term that refers to forested wetlands. "Marsh" is not covered by trees.

Medicinal leeches are supposed to live in wetlands but with the decline of natural livestock management their populations have crashed :(

It's so stupid. I dropped a mug on the floor in the bunker and I couldn't stop the tears and crying.

I knocked the mug while I was trying to reach the sink to start dishwater and my heart sank as I reached for it. I felt my fingers just barely graze the cup before it fell on the floor and shattered into a bunch of pieces. Immediately I cringed at the noise and my eyes welted up in tears and I deflate.

"God I cant do anything right..." I say shakily as my sobs overtake me. I go to lean over the counter but flinch when I go to touch it remembering that that was how I broke the mug in the first place. I wilt and sit on the floor not caring that the porcelain is digging into my legs through my leggings and I shake violently as I cry. I just broke down on the floor hyperventilating and crying about the broken mug.

My heart is racing as adrenaline pours into my veins to keep my hands from staying still as I try to pick up the bigger pieces. I cant help but shake as some crazed part of my brain cries out to hide my mistakes before someone sees it. My mind runs on and on about how worthless I am and how much I suck at being a functional person. For crying out loud I cant even do dishes without fucking up something. But its not my voice telling these things to me... Its Johns voice.

As the forever forgotten middle child of the Winchesters, also the only girl, I was forced to stay inside and do research instead of going out and hunting with my brother Dean and John. Secretly I despise them for it. But I could never tell them that. Instead, I stayed and took care of Sam, helped him though school and supported him when he left for college. And stayed in the shadows. Always in the shadows. Never any real help, just another burden... Or that's what John tells me. He lost the title of father or dad when he yelled at me that I should have succeeded when he found my cutting marks when I was 13.

I hear his voice as I sit shaking and sobbing quietly on the floor in the kitchen in the bunker all alone and surrounded by broken porcelain. I drop the few pieces I picked up as I cut myself on a rather sharp edge and start crying so hard I can no longer see well.

I put the pieces next to me and curl up and cry in a ball. I let myself sob quietly for a good few minutes until I hear footsteps approaching the kitchen. I take a deep breath and my eyes go wide as my anxiety ridden mind tries to scream at me to get up and hide. I sit paralyzed on the floor with wide puffy and red eyes locked on the doorway.

Instead of one of my brothers or the deceased John, in walks Castiel, the favorite angel. He is none the wiser and I didn't even think he noticed me until he started walking on the broken mug pieces.

"Are you ok? Theres a lot of glass on the floor. Did you mean to do that?" He says in his little gruff voice. I sniffle a few times and start crying again as he stops talking. I use my now bloody hands to cover my face as I sob into my knees.

Cass looks confused at my mess on the floor.

"I take it that's a no then?" He says a little softer as he looks at the glass and then at my hands. He sighs and walks to the sink to grab a washcloth.

I shake my head softly and sniffle as I try to stop crying but just proceed to wipe blood on my face. I smell the metallic liquid and frown. My heart is practically beating out of my chest as John continues to torment me from my head.

Cass brings the washcloth to me and kneels Infront of me to be face to face with me. He has a small frown as he gently grabs my bleeding hand and presses the cloth to it to try and clean it up before he heals it. I stair at the floor blankly and my eyes fall on the broken base of the mug. My eyes are bloodshot and I feel tingly as Cas uses his angelic powers to heal my hand. It fills my body with an odd warmth and I shiver softly.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" He prods gently. I shake my head and let him continue to hold my hand.

"Do you want help cleaning this up?" Cas says softly. I can tell he's trying to help me but I dont really hear him as I sit in my little cocoon of self depreciation. He puts my hand back on my knee and stands up and picks me up off the ground and puts me on the countertop.

I sigh softly as he moves me but I dont protest. He lets me sit there as I zone out again and start crying once more. Cas grabs a broom and dustpan and cleans up the broken mug quietly. I shake softly as I cry.

"I'm sorry." I say in a soft shakey voice once he gathers the mug into the dustpan. He pauses for a moment and looks up at me from the floor and shoots me a soft smile.

"It's ok. Accidents happen." Its a sweet sentiment, really. I nod softly as I sniffle and wipe my face on my hoodie sleeve.

"A little too often with me though." I say in a soft but sad tone. He frowns and looks at me confused.

"Ive never seen you break a mug before. How could it be often?" He says in an aloof manor. This breaks me out of my anxiety attack for a second and I smile for a second before I go back to frowning and looking at the remanents in the dustpan. Cas throws out the broken mug and then puts the broom away and stands in front of me as I sit quietly on the counter and try to quiet my rapidly beating heart to get my chest to stop hurting.

"You didn't have to do that." I say softly as I put a hand over my heart to try and add some pressure.

"I didn't want you to get cut again when you sat on the floor." He says shortly. I nod with an empty frown on my face.

"Fair." I say.

"Ill finish dishes for you if you wanna go pick a movie for movie night tonight." He says as he shuts off the water just before the sink spills over because I forgot to shut it off in the midst of my short anxiety attack. I frown as I look at the sink.

"Are you sure Cas? I dont want you to think im not able to do things." He shakes his head.

"You work so hard all the time trying to keep this place clean. Go sit down and pick a movie. Ill be in in a few minutes." His voice leaves little room for argument so I get up and shakily stand and walk to the living room and start looking through movies.

I smile to myself as I pick a stupid comedy movie about history and get ready to start the movie. A few minutes later, true to his word, Castiel walks in with slightly damp hands and a bowl of popcorn for me. I smile softly as I take the popcorn and he grabs me a soft blanket. As he drapes the blanket over my lap Sam walks in and then shortly after that Dean. Everyone settles in and Cas sits next to me on the couch and we all enjoy movie night together.

Luchino with a Scorpion like Survivor S/O

Warnings: Possible ooc, mentions of scorpions and reptiles

Story type: Fluff

Pairings/Characters: Luchino Diruse x reader

At your first arrival to the manor Luchino was incredibly curious about you, you looked completely human other then the strange scorpion like features you had, some covered by articles such as clothing or hats, some not. For awhile the scientist observed you from afar and didn't directly confront you, plus he was focused on researching his own reptiles in his lab so he didn't have much extra time.

It's equivalent to the spiderman meme whenever you first see Luchino in the manor with your own eyes, you immediately being drawn to him due to his similar features to you despite being influenced by different animals. Luchino is pretty solitary and doesn't really talk to others within the manor unless someone approaches him first. So you'd have to be the one to strike up a conversation.

After awhile of chatting with the professor you two seemingly instantly hit it off and became each others designated science buddies. It doesn't really matter if you understand a lot of what Luchino is trying to explain to you or not as he works on studying more about his reptilian friends, Luchinos just happy that theres someone that will listen onto his rambling about his research.

Once you do get into a relationship with this loveable part lizard man you basically get constant access to his lab and you're practically the only person he'll pause his research for unless it's a emergency, anyone else though for any other situation he's most likely ignoring.

Due to being in a relationship with you Luchino feels more comfortable about asking about your scorpion like features, wondering if it was similar to his. Do the mutations increase your speed? Do they increase your senses? Do you have a sort of poison like most scorpions do? The man is completely curious of you and wants to know more, even willing to shift his research away from lizards for awhile to focus on scorpions. That's when you know the man is dedicated to figuring all of this out cause this man has been studying reptiles his entire life.

If you two were to get into a match together he wouldn't even be decoding, he would be studying you to see if theres any scorpion like traits that show up in the match, carrying a notepad with him to jot down every interesting thing he finds. You eventually have to get him to stop and just straight up tell him that you can display your abilities to him in his lab.

Most days end with the two of you dosing off in his lab, your head situated on his chest hearing his heartbeat. Scorpions are known to be heartless hunters, but maybe even they can be pacified with just the right person beside them.

But you are right, I am not as invested in MHA, because it just doesn't have the versatility and genius of Naruto and Shippuden, it is actually quite a straightforward story and I don't need to burn a lot of my braincells to 'get it'. Lol. I am not saying it's bad, but as compared to its contemporary mangas, it just isn't at par for my tastes. It's good for entertainment but it doesn't affect me like other mangas that it takes inspiration from. Some silly shipper telling me I can't read, I would tell you my credentials but nah, too much work for disproving silly ass headcanons.

Fans make comparisons between Naruto and BNHA because Horikoshi is inspired by Kishimoto, definitely some similarities are there, but it misses on the most crucial point. Naruto and Shippuden are love stories. BNHA is simply your typical shounen manga. Naruto and Shippuden use the narrative tool of subversion to tell a love story in the restrictive genre of shounen. It has multiple layers and you need presence of mind to see them. Naruto is gay and you see comphet in his character, his interest in Sakura looks superficial from the beginning and then in kage arc, it is concluded as a mere cover to run from confronting his dilemma, and closetedness. His character is consistently shown as having an internal fight, a dilemma. Sasuke is just on your face, he is clearly shown as having no interest in women, but with Naruto he is especially intimate on his own accord. Ya know, using random panels ain't gonna help, you need to establish it in the narrative. Headcanons are all nice to entertain when that's all you watch media for, shipping. But please to be showing more maturity and media comprehension when sending me an ask, I am not very sympathetic to gaslighters whose heads are filled with shippy shit and cheap self gratification. When I talk Naruto, I make comparisons with other clearly gay media, and point out the common tropes, it's a result of expansive research. Not just random panels that prove nothing. Little one, you need more than that to prove your theories. I have watched a wide range of media, including gay media, your ask is just representative of your ignorance and lack of knowledge about how storytelling and character building works. Heh. Or do you think BNHA has its own concept of homosexuality, its own private language that cannot be compared with how other media establishes homosexuality in a given universe? Yeah, solipsistic ideas like that cannot be taken seriously.

Conformity is one of the pillars Japanese society is built upon, so it's not surprising that Japanese media talks upon how anything that doesn't conform to the norms is rejected. Their media is representative of their society. Mha also touches upon that and there's no surprises there, but again, you need more than that to prove it in the course of plot building and narrative. Some random out of context panel about some character saying something about conformity proves your point? You need to SHOW it and not just tell. But where other mangas, great mangas, popular and critically well acclaimed mangas have explored this idea in detail, MHA is just touch and go. It doesn't entertain a balanced proper discourse on it. It is truly shounen in that sense. Again, I am not saying it is bad, it is just more age appropriate. Which is totally fine. Do you know how heteronormativity is established in the narrative? Like this. Show me where this happens in MHA. Lol. Sweetheart, if the writer had made any attempt to write this world as heteronormative, where gay characters face challenges, I would have seen it. But mha is just not that deep. Sorry to burst your bubble. But that's just a fact.

Seriously, you are going to give me the example of Toga? I haven't gone through the recent chapters yet. I have only watched the anime. But it is clear that, that girl is medically insane. Her idea of liking someone is to kill that person and drink their blood, for her own pleasure. She ain't a homosexual, more like hemosexual. Hahaha. Again, you gotta show me the trajectory of her character, start with the base and show me how it escalates, how does she learn better about herself, her own feelings, the world from her perspective. No character is isolated, any writer who is talented enough to write multimillion franchise knows that. Don't project your assumptions on the story and the characters, work with what you have and draw the meaning from what's given, not the other way round.

There is no doubt Izuku and Bakugou have a strong relationship, even if it is mostly rivalry. But one can see that Bakugou cares about Deku and vice versa. Before telling me how to read, perhaps you should have done it yourself. Lol, I see this type of behaviour a lot from typical silly shippy shippers. "What, did you just say my ship makes no sense? 🤬"

Do you even know what subtext or text is? Hahah. This is text and subtext. So just because Bakugou and Deku talk about their rivalry in their vulnerable moments, that the audience knows as congruent since we have already seen they have a hot and cold relationship but that they are friends nonetheless, that proves they love each other romantically? You obviously don't know how romance tropes work. The dynamic between two men who respect and admire each other is always shown with a lot of empathy in Japanese media. It is one of the founding pillars of shounen, a genre meant for teenaged boys. They are certainly closer to each other than they are with women they are interested in, but a lot of fans such as yourself misinterpret it as romantic, because headcanon goggles. No, you gotta have more than that. Where Naruto and Shippuden have it in truckloads, none of that in BNHA. Deku is heterosexual af. If he is so interested in Bakugou, how come he reacts the way he reacts to Uraraka? Where is his conflict? Where is his dilemma? His affection and romantic interest in Uraraka is genuine and sincere, not a cover to hide his more private feelings. Unlike in Naruto's case. Kishi uses clever narrative tricks and tools to tell his love story in shounen and he does it skillfully. His motives and intentions are clear as water. He uses inventive smokescreens and red herrings to escape from being too controversial and colour inside the borders of shounen, nothing like that in BNHA. To begin with, Horikoshi doesn't even delve into the sexualities of his characters, because his story is not about that. There's no context, no set up, nothing. His worldbuilding is simply conventional, by which I mean heteronormative, there's no talk about sexual orientation of characters. You see the usual shounen perviness by Mineta and Kaminari and typical straight girls going kawaai over good looking boys like Todoroki, what impression does that give? If Horikoshi wanted to establish his characters being gay, he would have set up the context mindfully and carefully, like Kishi did. Gay relationships and characters can't be shown so explicitly in shounen as that would jeopardize its distribution in the west. Reason? Censorship. That's why Kishi had to be so careful, his target audience might not get it, but the adults do. Well, unbiased adults do, at the very least. So the boys in bnha are gay just because? Because you want them to be? Storytelling and character building doesn't work like that.

Seriously everything you think works as 'analysis' isn't even valid. I honestly didn't even want to respond to this ask, given it's so surface level and ridiculously simple minded. Perhaps you are a tween or teen who thinks every time two boys or girls smile at each other or rescue each other, they are gay and in love. Lol, watch gay media. TO CAMP ANON

Hi love! Someone sent some advice to you, so I'm putting it under the cut because it's a bit heavy. I hope you're doing well <3

I’ve been keeping up with your tumblr and your asks and stuff, and I hope it’s okay but I had something to say to Camp Anon.

I sort of inferred the situation through your answers Cas. When I was a kid I was often in group at church with other “rebellious” kids. I know now that we were all the queer kids who hadn’t realised yet (credit to them, maybe some of them had) and then when I turned 16 and partly figured myself out I started getting invested in peoples stories.

By that point a lot of the kids I’d gone to church with were also closeted, and we started talking to each other about ourselves and our experiences.

And turns out a few of those kids went to conversion camps. The summers before and after I found out. 

One of the kids was a year older than me and is still a very close friend of mine. She’s actually taking a course to be a therapist now.

And there were a few things they said (and my friend still says when she decides to talk about it) that I thought maybe you should know. 

It seems like from Cas’ answers to the ask, that Camp Anon has been somewhere before and I presume is going somewhere else again this summer? (Parents don’t usually send kids the same place twice in a row)

Look, I have some advice that’s gonna suck but I think you should hear it. You need to know before you go to the camp what sort of level/type the camp it is. 

There are ways to find out and i’m gonna list some here and just do as much research as you can (safely) because if you’re unprepared it will be difficult to leave if you need to.

So the camp has to find away of telling parents what it’s like without directly saying it. It’s often found in quotes.

Theres a big difference between “helping your child” and “healing your child” and “fixing your child”. 

Helping usually means giving quotes and bibles and doing straight kid activities (whatever that means).

Healing usually means a lot of churchy sessions, “explaining” what’s wrong with you, being more delicate

And then fixing means being absolute dickheads. 

There should also be a website somewhere, or a form or something that your parents had to sign. Sometimes that can be over an email or sometimes it’s a letter. It’s just another way for the camp to cover their asses. Whatever is written inside it should give a vague message about the danger level, how many things they want to cover themselves for.

Also- about recording the camp. If you do decide to (no pressure, always prioritise your safety), focus on filming the other kids around you. If your phone is caught or found, if the videos start of silly with other kids in (as long as they know the risk of being caught with a phone too), it’s unlikely someone will scroll through all the videos, which will mean even if they’re deleted, you won’t rise too much suspicion. 

You can also hide videos in other places, like take a video you have and put it in a draft on your tumblr account, and then delete it from your phone. That can be done on Insta too. It does require internet but I assume you have mobile data.

Also camps without phones will still have wifi for adults, sometimes this is free wifi. If it is, don’t use it (if possible).

Also, sometimes the location of the camp on fliers won’t be the real location. For example, it might be the location of the church you go to, but the place you sleep might be one road over, so stay awake. Keep an eye on road names if you move from the location your parents dropped you off at (in case someone needs to come get you, and then can’t find you). 

It is illegal to say that being queer kids can be “fixed”. It’s against the law for camps to do this. Conversion therapy is illegal and wrong. Morally wrong and literally wrong. Not a thing. Doesn’t work. Total fucking bullshit.

And be careful. I know there’s a temptation to bring a weapon (like a knife) with you to these places, and it makes sense. But these kids have been through a lot, like you, and can be really depressed and have mental health issues. And you don’t want a kid to do something bad to themselves with a knife you brought with you to the camp. 

(Cas here: just remember if that ever happens, it's NOT your fault)

Just think it through. 

And be careful who you talk to, some of these kids believe the stuff they’re told. It’s not their fault but don’t assume everyone will agree with you about the situation. 

I don’t want to get too involved, I understand this is an overwhelming thing and reaching out just to talk about it was so brave. If you’d like I can ask my friend, who’s been to places like that, if there’s any personal advise she can give.  Or not, either way is fine. 

And finally, the area I grew up in had a terrible social services place nearby, and when you called the number for social services that school gave you, they’d just send someone from there. There was a kid I used to know who called social services on his family and the guy who showed up was friends with his dad. 

Idk if you have good social services or not but do some research first if you can ❤️

this one was fun! i always like merging a character's outfit with the bg so i liked doing that again. picking the colors for elliots outfit was also enjoyable. ive wanted to make smth w that cover for a while

2. shame was still the tyrant of his life

i only wrote two nol and eli things this year and neither of them are finished. the first was a continuation of a scene where nol kisses elliot against the blue stained glass in his room--i once posted it but then i deleted it bc it made me feel woozy for its allusions to sex. i wanted to rebuild it and take a shot at it now that im comfortable writing n reading sex, but i never got very far. theres actually lots of nice parts! i just like nols dumb angsting the best!

i really wanted to focus on nol's eye here, but also not make it too obvious lol. i used a ps filter like a schmuck but i wanted it to be darker without making it even more difficult to see, so i took away their bodies and limited the colors to make it what it is.

i wrote some reflections about this one already here. i honestly was very (distressed voice) cant believe im writing pure fanfic for the first time in over ten years and lacked a lot of direction when i started bc uhhhhh terence has 8 and a half mins of screen time. i tried to convince myself that it's not much different than me stealing brucemont for my own evil devices, but the unique perspective of seeing quite so much fan content def influenced my interpretation. i wanted their relationship to be much more imbalanced from the get-go initially--dion using his power unintentionally and terence barely passing a thought abt it until later bc he's just so accustomed to obeying--but i ended up giving terence a lot more sway & ammunition in their argument. the breakfast bed thing is also smth im rly fond of.

there's also additional meta for this one here. i made a silly doodle abt it also. dion kept picking fights here! it honestly turned out how i expected. when i first started this fic, i was gonna have dion start out right in oriflamme and meet ter and kihel there, but i booted them to northreach so i could have this stretch of conflict. i think it's like. Bad Pacing. technically. if i still believe the conflict introduced in the next chapter is the core one, that is. which i sorrrrta do. but i dont care bc i rly like the visual of kihel laying in dion's lap and getting to put a gun on the wall w ahmed.

its been two months since the last chapter and this chapter is humiliatingly not written. i have all my scrambled notes and scenes that i jotted down in between the first two chapters, so i have a full direction, but it's been really difficult to write lately. ive been devoting all my time to trying to recoup my mental health and work on my teredio secret santa. ill start next year with this wip as a priority, so for now i only have the photoshop edit for it. kihel is holding terence's hand--it's his pov turn.

overall i didnt like this year very much. i didn't read, create, research or do a lot even though i tried to. i became really disconnected from all of my friends bc im too tired to stay for rp or hold online conversations. at this point, i dont play ffxiv at all except the few times i managed to rp a little. i moved into nanny's house and have my own space, but don't have the presence of mind to do anything about my pc, books, and so on, although i did make a lot of progress rewrapping my books w fresh wraps and some other things. my plans for next year are to reach out to a couple of my friends, build my pc, relearn + rebuild + relaunch my queer lit blog on open source code, survive school, and rediscover the productivity ive lost the past few years.

teredio has helped me a LOT to find community, inspiration, and art in my loneliest year yet. im very proud of my fic and grateful every day to the ppl who have reached out to me about liking it. even if im sorry about my productivity rate in comparison to how many extraordinary writers there are in the ship's fandom, i know i have to be easy on myself to relearn how to write, create a writing schedule that works for me, and stop punishing myself when i cant get the words out.

Its a nostalgic song for me, reminds me of the slower days of childhood but also has a strange melancholy to the sound of it that just... chefs kiss. It reminds me of days gone by, of new loves being forged, and of the bittersweet that comes with it.

we spent a long time talking about weed and shadow the hedgehog

inferno pops out of eeby deeby by tori oh no. frog says hi. tori is cursing at this lol. frog shows sunnie inferno's cat. suzy tackles him lol. frog introduces inferno to sunnie. inferno pretends to not know sunnie xD suzy says he told her to beat up sunnie. inferno got a 22 to deceive but sunnie also got a 22 wtf. sunnie trusts the kids more xD tori and sunnie just give each other a look.

suzy bites inferno for covering her mouth. clamped down lol. he manages to escape tho! tori says she normally tries to stop suzy but not when it involves inferno. inferno flips her off lol. cam goes eeby deeby. sunnie asks tori what inferno did, so much my guy.

dess and dans are still getting high. talking about how fucked up eeby deeby is. dess mentions another storage and freaks dans out. 'dess are you ok?' 'what do you think?' 'i think no but i wont push.' dans asks why dess joined this weird journey and she says she has a contract. cause of tall ass creepy elf man. cant talk about it cause contract stuff maybe lol. dans peeks in the bathroom on undyne shes snoring up a storm. he says his lawyer could help dess get out of her contract xD his lawyer is gaster and hes a nerd. dess says "oh 2 of them thats weird." "yeah thats weird."

suzy is poking inferno lol. run away inferno! sunnie asks if thats normal xD tori asks if sunnie is in town long. not long just research. inferno is still running from suzy lol. frog makes sunnie put them on his shoulders. sunnie is ghost hunting? he doesnt believe in ghosts tho like wtf xD frog says cam got possessed by a ghost lol. sunnies like what?! tori's like yeah lol. sunnie is also a flat earther nooooooo!

as dess and dans hang out undyne starts sleep walking and broke the bathtub. dans tries to lead her toward the bed and she fucking smacks him wtf. dess throws a snowball in her face to wake her up. doesnt work and she barrels toward dess. dess tries to restrain undyne with magic but since shes high it turns into wild magic lol. dess is blue now oh no and undyne slams into her and they fall over.

group 1 arrives at the hotel. sunnie pats frog on the head he was glad to meet them. tori asks if theyll see him tomorrow. suppose they will! tori sends the kids upstairs. inferno follows. they see undyne outcold ontop of a blue dess. dans is trying to pull her off dess. she wakes up finally. shes so confused lol. dess shuffles away lol. dans hands her some water. he tells her she was sleepwalking and smacked him in the nose for a nosebleed lol. and destroyed the bathtub. inferno says tori wont let us go to a haunted house. dess calls undyne a murder slut xD dans tells inferno theres a soap cart at the end of the hall lol then removes dess blue curse.

tori comes up and is very concerned. dans asks how brother time was and dess takes it the wrong way and then walks into a wall. cam pops out of eeby deeby by dess with an egg in their mouth xD dans catches tori up on what happaned with them. suzy and frog ask tori what cannabis is xD ask again in 10 years.

we long rest and frog is very energetic and they want to see sunnie. breakfast first kiddo. dess tells frog cannabis is a plant lol. cam says dess really likes quests. undynes got a headache and dess picks up frog from jumping on her. dess says she saw frog die 40 times or so. like girl what. tori of course really hates that. after breakfast frog runs out and starts asking people where the haunted house is.

frog you smell like weed stop that xD the guy just runs.dans is just having vani sniff out sunnie and undyne follows him. haunted house! frog just runs in okie dokie. frog avoids a hole then starts yelling for sunnie. time to split up! very burnt home. are we sure this isnt tori's family? after a long investigation i didnt bother writing, inferno sees a ghostly woman. cam returns to eeby deeby lol. undyne just wants to leave. ghost lady hates the husband guy i guess. sunnie isnt here.

Wait From Eroica with Love had an influx of male readers?????? Do you know why??????

yes! there's a few different reasons, but eberbach really is the main one

as naoki urusawa (of monster fame) said in his documentary about yasuko aoike, eberbach was a big standout in shojo manga - while male heroes were usually, by 1970s standards, gentlemanly and gallant (except andré grandier from rose of versailles but we can talk abt him another day), eberbach was crass, rude, conservative, and didn't even like women

he still appealed to female readers of course, even with this personality, being a handsome and long-haired agent guy, but the attention from male readers really was a new thing, and the story begun to change as aoike found she simply liked writing/drawing more for that crowd

the focus of the story slowly changed from "eroica wants this thing, let's see him steal it, and the major has a mission related to that thing, so they bump ways" to "eberbach is doing a mission, let's see him do it, and eroica randomly shows up and helps him/makes it worse". despite never having any character development himself, we also see more of his background - his home and work life - and his backstory, while eroica's men show up less and less until only mr bonham and mr james are left

a standout for me are the chapters "vacation orders" and "midnight collector" - the first is about eberbach's past, and we never see dorian once. the second is about dorian's past, and eberbach has his own side story inside of it

the story itself also changed a lot more from the usual shojo demographic, appealing way more to male viewers - at the beginning, it was an action shonen-ai (action with men kissing lol), with dorian talking about the beauty of paintings and statues and kissing a couple of men along the way; and in the last few chapters, its entirely become a spy action story. the last time dorian kisses a male character is literally on the 6th chapter

and lastly, the art itself. just compare the cover of the first volume to the cover of the 23rd

the characters were made a LOT more masculine/less androgynous; no more skinny fingers and long eyelashes, now they just look like normal dudes with weird long chins. even dorian loses his wardrobe of long robes, skinny jeans and high heels and chokers/bracelets in favor of more business-like suits as the series goes on

lastly, yasuko aoike really just seemed to enjoy writing these spy stories rather than the art thievery going on in the first few chapters. she puts a ton of effort into researching them and it shows, theres like five chapter arcs with intricate plots spanning multiple nations and characters, and she pays so much attention to drawing the right uniforms, tanks, and airplanes.

i personally know if i ever take a trip to germany and see a lufthansa plane i'm gonna say "oh it's that airline from eroica". it's just the kind of thing that makes dude go "oh hell yeah"

TL;DR spy stories focusing more on the NATO military officer than the gay art thief, the art style becoming less "girly"/shojolike, and a ridiculous amount of detail when it came to depicting military equipment such as planes, tanks etc.

i think im down to two main options, screen accurate robe or a historically accurate one- accurate is a general term here, ultimately ill do what i want with little care for being exact, but as an overview, thats the idea split. there was a fleeting idea i might do some other style of robe, but i never found anything i exactly vibed with (if you wanna vanilla extract it though, feel free to drop other suggestions in the replies)

its necessary to note at this point i already plan to stray a little from screen accuracy on my lining. the SA lining is quite a vibrant pink, but to compliment my personal wardrobe more, im learning towards a dusky pink or almost maroon colour (im visualising the robe fabric background colour but a little darker, but itll depend on what i can actually find in my local shop)

this one will also require buying another fabric on top of the lining (an orange for the piping) and making or sourcing tassels if i decide to have them (up in the air as i am bound to catch them on things)

a big appeal to this version for me is the box pleat in the back- it allows for more volume, more movement, while still sitting right and keeping the silhouette. i do like volume in my garments

its probably a more technical build than a HA one, just on the neck binding and kinomo sleeves, but it should still be pretty straight forward

historically accurate (HA)

historically, the SA version seems to be based on wrapping gowns. a very simple construction, cut all in one big length (though, as on the SA i would have a seam at the shoulder so the print isn't upside down) this image gives both a good idea of pattern and silhouette

the wrapping gown is generally quite a loose fitting garment, and is very simple in its cutting. its all straight lines, and all triangles and rectangles. theres a couple of different options in the cutting, but im thinking as flared as i can make it (with or without piecing) at the hem, and also maybe some flare on the cutting of the sleeve to make it wider at the wrist without affecting mobility

wrapping gowns do typically have a small collar up near the neck, similar to the way the SA one is, but it only wraps around a short distance, not to halfway down the body as the SA does

this is obviously a much easier pattern, in my research ive seen people complete this in a day. my main concerns for me personally are in the flare and in the fit. i like a good swoosh and im not sure that ill get that in this (but not certain. some look quite full).

while it is designed to be an unfitted garment, it still has some fitting. im a little concerned that to give myself enough room around the chest i will end up with quite a dropped shoulder (shoulder seam sitting down the arm) and im not a huge fan of that. these are all things id figure out in a mockup, but it has me hesitating to go that way

a sort of tldr;

heres a basic look at what the patterns look like. as you can see the HA one is far more simplistic in shape

if youve been following any of my sewing projects youll know i have a tendency to make things take far longer than they really need to, so obviously a simpler garment that uses mostly techniques i already know is a huge appeal rather than a far more complicated and out of my comfort zone project. but i have concerns about the fit of the HA, and there is just something so appealing to making the SA version....

Take Fortune verse is my ambitious iceland character study project in which he goes to university for 3 years getting an undergrad degree, despite technically having a phd or two.. and he gets in touch with the youth and makes friends his age. a coming of age for a boy that doesnt age and all that. it sounds basic and derivative and it is, i'll gladly name my inspiration sources. but its also really special to me

its hard to condense TFIE without making it sound like a lot of nothing. but the most notable plot development is when a generic Nations Reveal plot kicks off in the background by total coincidence, and iceland's secret identity has been unravelling since before then. he gets some close calls, and some others get sworn to secrecy like his closest oc friends (pictured above). but iceys lies about his fake government internship keep getting more elaborate every chapter to cover his ass. idk. its a lot. theres a lot to it. i reread my whole 30 page outline and cried. iceland is my favorite character ever btw did u know that

Since I mentioned Matilda, I can’t stop thinking of stories like Annie, Cinderella, and even mythology where godly parents were somewhat detached from a demigod’s childhood (like Hercules).

We could talk about how those individual cases might be impacted by omegaverse (and I’m not gonna discourage you from doing that if you find it fun). But I think a deeper, more cohesive question would be: how would fiction that mentions/concerns adoption be portrayed in omegaverse? Would the fantasy of the perfect found family carry over, would new themes/fantasies emerge, would these themes change based on historical events, etc?

depends on how your adoption in your verse is. Currently I am very neutral about how to go about this so I’ll cover everything:

Positive: It would kinda be like, adoption is good and has its issues but it’s mostly well/handled the best way they can! They’d portray it with merit and addressing (or at least loosely) the circumstances and why this was an option that was chosen would arise. I think for fantasies I think the ‘found family’ wouldn’t carry on AS much. Maybe that’s only in the deepest parts of the world where theres just bad everywhere.

Since this is positive I don’t think there would be too many delusions but one delusion I can see is that “Adoption can never be an option for you because your life isn’t as bad,” which- is bad and sad but I think that delusion would carry over. Why? Well an ethnical adoption system IN MY OPINION doesn’t involve you taking away a kid cause they’re in poverty it’s having programs to help that family. (There is more but happy part lol)

I also think that parents don’t consider adoption as the solution to their puppylessness. They consider it a way to help a kid in need with the possibility of gaining nothing

Neutral: Neutral will be well what it is. It’ll have its delusions and its realities. Found family fantasy would be HUGE but not the fantasy of ‘perfect parents.’ (Aka our world thinks you just need love and cultural stripping and identity change isn’t bad because they adopted you and that’s a good thing. In ‘positive’ this would be addressed with parents better being equipped and researched about a kid’s possible cultural background. At least with transracial adoptions)

I think the issues surrounding it is addressed but in a basic form opposed to a deep one.

Negative: Tbh like how our world is today. Found family delusion, ‘adoptive parents are saints,’ ‘adoption is a gift’ and I think a NEW delusion that would arise is: ‘they gave you their scent you should be grateful,’ like okay?? Another would be how about the dynamics:

‘Your parents adopted an Alpha?? Oh you should be so so so grateful since you are- no offense a handful,’ - Delusion: Alpha children has the lowest adoption rate to be picked cause they’re a handful

reality: Alpha children are harder to adopt out because the government wants to keep its charity points and Beta Children just don’t- have that kind of ‘urgency,’

‘Omegas are adopted mostly because they’re the most tragic so of you’re gonna adopt adopt an Omega!’ - Delusion: Omega children have the most tragic stories so adopt them

reality: The system know Omegas are the societies babies, ofc they’re gonna pull on their heart strings and make some shit up about how 90% of their omegas come from a bad situation

Beta’s would cost the least

As for INFANTS since you cannot tell a pups dynamic until ages 3-4, they are usually kept unavailable unless you are willing to pay an ungodly sum (they gotta get those dynamic stories/papers)

As for historical events I have a few in mind? But they are not part of my culture so I feel awkward for bringing them up lol

Matilda grew up in her parents house, so her scent confusion and security isn’t ‘that’ severe. But also that place smells of 80% smoke and other things so definitely still bad (I mean ofc it is)

sorry for taking days to respond to this (i started typing something and then saved it as a draft and forgot for like. 3 days straight) but YES I LOVE TALKING ABOUT LABOR HISTORY

i was personally introduced to it through irl experiences but for other people id very very heavily recommend trying to research specifically local labor history Or labor history relating to some other interest you have. often times theres a lot of really fascinating stories that just arent very well known unless you dig a little and its always easier to get into a new topic if its tied to something you already love

im gonna be real one of the books i own irl about american labor history as a whole is so long and dry that i aint actually finished it yet but i did buy this much more specific one last year about a really important part of pa labor history and i really enjoyed it. if youve ever been interested in learning about militant miners unions in 19th-20th century appalachia you should absolutely read it. it covers specifically a irish american miners union/secret society in late 19th century pennsylvania + the long history of irish agrarian secret societies that preceded it
