ill be upfront in that i have very few i'll-die-on-this-hill opinions about the boys, but here's some i'm pretty stuck to <3

sfw headcanons

1. lee's better with words, gaara's better with actions, and they're both secretly envious of the other for it: my thoughts here are that gaara spent so much of his life not understanding love that he'd still struggle to articulate it in flowery ways that i think, as a born theatre kid, lee would be good at. but gaara would absolutely be that person who shows it in subtle ways -- like taking care of someone when sick, remembering food preferences, always ensuring lee takes care of himself when lee forgets or is busy having a self-flagellation moment. not that i think lee would be incompetent, but he strikes me as more of a scatterbrain, but would always be on top of verbal reassurances and affection (which i also think is what gaara would benefit from: clear straightforward declarations of feelings and intent)

2. they're both super cuddly in private look, you put together a touch-starved former monster vessel and a social outcast who mostly knows touch from violence (until gai) and you are going to get some clinginess imo. you can't convince me they're not the kind of people who would sit side by side at the dinner table so they can eat holding hands. bro (emotional)

3. they're probably actually really shit at "conventional" dating hear me out ok. they're like initially so far away and gaara is the whole president and lee kicked a meteor in half one time you think they can just wander around and go to restaurants? it's absolutely nonsense that shinobi don't suffer village celebrity paparazzi syndrome in nart tbh. not exactly the same but i have a whole wip in the bort-verse about them sneaking around. tldr i'd bet they sometimes get casual breakfast or dinner but i think more likely takeout and quiet time together as opposed to like fancy dates

4. language learning and hobbying as a form of devotion as a purveyor of my wares u may notice i have language headcanons. it is also my gaalee romance hc that they learn each others -- i've incorporated this into in the space between and a wip called multilingual, which is all about nejiten teasing lee about his crush on gaara in front of the man. i also think that lee would lean into gaara's gardening stuff with gusto because if it's something gaara loves, lee would want to love it too.

3. rock lee's canonically huge dick ok lol listen. listen this one's canon jokes aside i think lee is hung as detailed in We Don't Talk About Fight Club and i will continue that joke. that being said i think normal hung. not arizona tea can hung which is a hilariously illustrated discord joke

4. tbh i think they're kinda vanilla in the bedroom i say this in a positive way i think they'd be far more into like, just being able to be with each other instead of getting into wild sexual mischief all over the villages although they definitely bone in weird places secretly. they Fuck, but like i don't see them as super kinksters or anything. however, i have seen many a kinkfic that im like nodding my head this is valid cakesitting bdsm what who said that

4. How many WIPs do you have right now?

actually shockingly few! ever since i finished my big owl house editing pass back in june i've not done a whole lot in terms of projects...and recently i've been playing rain world so instead of writing im playing rain world like 24/7. currently my only main project is the dess raises kris au, and in that 'verse the only thing i'm writing right now is a dess/chara relationship study. i WOULD finish it, but, uh. rain world. (<- guy who is trying so hard not to write rain world fic. i probably wont but also i am always tormented by ideas. but consider i have to tell the story of my slugpup scooter SCOOTER I WONT EVER FORGET YOU--)

5. What's a fic idea you've had that you will never write?

probably countless that i do not remember right now! but digging around through my drafts, i've got a few deltarune daemon aus that won't ever see the light of day...one of them was a fangame where the player played as one of kris's two daemons, and the other was a fic where ralsei was kris's daemon. the ideas from there have basically been repurposed elsewhere--a lot of my kris&ralsei stuff went into various works, and the fangame stuff is being reworked into the dess raises kris au.

beyond that, in terms of things that are actually abandoned and won't be used elsewhere, there are so many daemon aus that i've left behind for one reason or another, though the gravity falls transcendence au is the one that i think was the best...that one postcanon his dark materials fic i was gonna write where lyra and pan return to will's world and cause general shenanigans there with him and kirjava...a vera-centric son of sea foam wings of fire au because vera is the love of my life and i was rereading wings of fire bc i felt nostalgic....oh my god fantasy high SOPHOMORE YEAR FIC, which i tried to start TWICE, once from fig's pov and once from ayda's that was their road trip back home and i have some very funny snippets from...MY INFINITY TRAIN DAEMON AU WAIT THAT ONE STILL GOES SO HARD ACTUALLY. okay drop everything ive ever said the fact that i never wrote my infinity train book two daemon au is a travesty. i was cooking with that one.

11. Do you have specific playlists for writing fics?

sort of! i usually always have at least one or two songs i connect to any given fic, but in terms of what i listen to when actually WRITING, it's changed over the years. i used to put on compilations of video game music--usually utdr, pmd, and then just whatever got recommended to me lol--then i did like. those character playlists people make on youtube? mostly bc they tended to pull from the same pool of songs so it became good background noise lol. now i use the youtube mix or whatever its called for a similar reason--it tends to play the same handful of songs ive listened to a lot, so they dont distract me.

14. If you could see one of your fics adapted into a visual medium, such as comic or film, which fan fic would you pick?

oh i LOVE this question, and it would be without a doubt my nimona daemon au oh, are you at all like me. nimona itself is obviously both a comic and a movie, and i'd say animated film since the fic follows the movie plot more--i think there'd be a LOT of really cool scenes you could get with that fic. i also think i could make killer animatics based on my fics if i could draw good enough <3 and thats not a joke i have scripts and sketch storyboards and everything. maybe one day i'll finish one of those.

for salt and fresh, they don't hate each other at all! they don't get a chance to really interact often so they are just unfamiliar with each other, however they are all still slimes so they get along just fine when they can (usually at estuaries or other areas where fresh merges into salt). other than that they just never really see the other.

AND AHHHHH YEAH!!!! ACCENTS!!! i didn't even think about that, i was more focused on how the color of their slime might be different based on sub group and their diet/climate/environment but oh my god yeah, there is so very much an accent that only other slimes might notice ily anon thank you. I think some does come from "family", but there's always a chance for it to chnage when you move, just like real life. Like another slime could tell charlie was a cave slime at some point maybe by how he talks or acts

and the bones..... ough the bones............

I have thoughts on the bones. the most significant one is how important a skeletion is to slime hybrids. Slime mobs don't care for that sort of thing, but since hyrbids are just that, a combination of slime and (in my head) human- hybrids like bones. It's the biggest think that sets them apart from their mob counter part.

Salt slimes build their skeletons from drowned, sea life, and literal drownings, giving them slightly abnormal appearances compared to fresh that only pull from skeletons and strays and humans. when desperate, they will make do with what they have and go without bones or fashion something out of what they do have. I hc as charlie having a pretty fucked skeleton during eggxile

also i have. a wip based on the idea of étoiles giving charlie bones to help his bro out and it spirals into the accidental courting ritual cause bones are really important to hybrids. I WANT TO SAY SO MUCB MOOOREEEEEE but im trying to hold back for this wip where i explore it more. ugh

i will say that the idea of giving and sharing bones is also a familial and friendly thing too. There's different meanings and different intentions. I like to think of big slime families having hand-me-down sets of bones as slime hybrids age and grow until they are able to get their own complete skeleton, almost like a rite of passage before they leave if they decide to. they keep a bone from their family and either keep it in their skeleton or on their person. Same goes for offers from friends and more...

charlie was not afforded the same... generosity and kindness as other slimes in other families and he had to build his skeleton by force. I am going to leave that there lest i say too much :) dw you'll learn more soon

okkk so this is cheating b/c this is actually. From an old draft of If You Want Divinity that was way darker. But I might reconstitute it for a new thing b/c I do.... like it, it just didn't fit with the tone:

I can feel everything. All your rage, your shame, your desire, your lovely desperation. Your envy… Does that frighten you? To know you can never hide from me again? It must be some sort of miracle for him to actually intimidate Porter, but rage emboldens him. He’s kept two people under his skin so long that the company is comforting. You don’t have the guts. “You sure?” says Jace. A beat. Do it. His grip slackens.

☔Is there a fic concept you have that you'd like to just explain and share because you're not sure you'll ever write it? If so, what is it?

I have a couple that I'm not sure if I'm gonna finish or go for. A lot of these are kinda ambitious which i used to take on with gusto but i do have a problem with abandoning shit (and delayed gratification) so the idea of committing myself to a big piece is like. Maybe.... maybe.... At the same time, i am that kind of ambitious person, short things are not normally what i do. I have a few ideas that are not the most fleshed out:

I do genuinely really like the idea of doing a You've Got Mail rival academies AU but i also know that would probably take a tone of work and i'm like..... ughhhh. But i think they could do the hate to love thing. Its the Nora Ephron n Meg Ryan collab i think is the most fitting for the two of them (although if there was a when harry met sally (evil version) Take..... maybe)

Vaguely a timeloop au sounds fun. I LOOOOVE a timeloop. and have been wanting to write one for forever but i don't have a strong Vision on it right now. Don't know if its a timeloop to change what happened kind of timeloop or a timeloop to realize you can never go back kind of timeloop. There's also the Timeloop as Redemption angle that i think is fun, that's the groundhog day thing that's the happy death day thing and i think there's precedent of it being like. a Chronomancy thing. Aguefort subject these bitches to a timeloop so you can put them back on your payroll im begging you

Althought time loop purgatory also goes hand in hand with my joke that Porter and Jace should be subjected to a Bad Place Elmville as hell punishment. A vaguely inspired Good Place AU would be really funny i think. Again, it's too formless for me to know what to do with it. I don't actually think it should be that they think they're in The Good Place, i think the trick should be they're convinced ankarna gave them a second shot at life so now they life in elmville only everything is shifted slightly to the left bc its a pocket hell dimension meant to torture them. Like Chidi and Eleanor, oops they fell in love. Again. This is formless.

ALSO kinda goes hand in hand with my joke abt Ankarnatown i made a while back like Jace fetching Porter from hell??? no notes. But like. damn i gotta make it myself?? That sucks

I honestly sincerely might write some zara/clones or lucilla/clones stuff. That ones purely and indulgence. Purely just for me. I wanted to include a small zara/jace throughline or a lucilla/j2 implication in Almost but it just like. Did not have the air for that i just felt like it didn't fit for the tone it just kinda was detracting (as much as zarajace making porter jealouse wouldve been fun) and just in there for me b/c i like Persephades Orphydice

a little taste of a wip Ive been working on since I told Xam bout it, yes I had to deactivate my account and then reactivate; don't ask it was such a headache

Long long ago, before the emptiness that consumed the world before the sun descended from the sky, before the people heard the phoenix war cry.

There were gods, gods of every shape colour and size. Gods with a hundred hands, gods who hid in smoky coils and gods who had no eyes.

And above it all shining bright the sun would preside, Nika the god of laughter, life and light. Beside Nika stood the Phoenix, his brother and advisor to any plight.

One day the Phoenix met The Wild, The Hunt, The godless god. A meeting perhaps not so strange but unexpected. They were the strangest being, constantly shifting. Wolf, Jaguar, falcon, yet their eyes always stayed the same. Glowing like the embers of a fire.

Terrible how the phoenix has always had such a weakness for flames.

the story goes like this, two gods fall in love and through love comes creation. (not that kind of creation). A new being born on earth, great obsidian wings, eyes like rubies, long white hair and a constant fire burning above their back. Their child (in a way). The Wild started spending more time on earth, teaching their and others creations how to survive. The story goes like this; The Phoenix tells the Wild

"I will love you for the rest of eternity."

I wish I could say this story has a happy ending.

The Wild is killed, humans are ever so fickle you see.

The Phoenix screams.

The Phoenix tears through every settlement It can find, ripping the ones who dare take Its love away. By the end the bottom of Its feathers and robes are soaked in blood. By the end Hope tracks It down and holds it down, the metal pipe pressed against Its throat. Nika watches as his brother cries and screams, the agony of eternity.

"The Phoenix, God of Eternity, Medicine and healing. I know anoint you a new title."

Red eyes meet blue and for a moment, there is an all encompassing dread. Then Nika looks away, "My Brother, My friend, The Phoenix, God of eternity, God of Death."

Hundreds of years pass, perhaps a thousands. Nika falls from the sky, susceptible to the most human emotion; love. The gods either give up or fade away, some plant themselves hoping to reawaken again. The Phoenix continues, It cannot fall nor can it die.

Perhaps in those centuries of loneliness, it came to forgive humans, perhaps not. Maybe it made a deal with someone a priestess who loved Nika. Maybe it became a memory, a ritual of sorts for one to pass down. A guardian.

Maybe it caught a man who in turn taught it love, maybe it stuck by the mans side until the day he died.

Maybe maybe maybe, there are so many maybes and so many routes that Fate would have it travel down. (never trust fate.)

Whatever the case, the route, the path. The Phoenix collides with a boy who is dying and maybe in a fit of madness, decides to heal him. There is a deal struck and the Phoenix lets it conscious fade into the background of the boys mind.

Whatever the route the end always stays the same.

the Phoenix presides on a ship now, watching through someones eyes. Until it sees the flame. The Fire, It knows that fire. It calls, whispering with a hundred voices, distorted like speaking through glass.

Anyone watching would be confused as the First commander Marco's eyes changed colour. The deep indigo, swirling into a burning cerulean. The Phoenix feels the roar of power as It finally reaches the flame, pulling the one It thought lost into a kiss.

Grey eyes are uncertain but sparking, flames lick around Its fingers as The Phoenix caresses a freckled cheek. "I found you, My Wild."

17. talk about your writing and editing process

my process is very chaotic so brace yourself

most of the time i start with dialogue. i mentioned it a few times i think but a lot of times an exchange of dialogue is the scaffolding that i build the scene around of. 221 Beika Street is the best example i think it started with this bit of dialogue

“You want us to live and work together?”

“Like Holmes and Watson.”

“Am I Watson in this scenario?”

“Well, you already have a cane-”

and it all went from there. sometimes i’ll have ideas for whole scenes that i write down and think about context later but thats usually when i already have a vague plot or premise in mind. second chapter of Law’s Eleven from zoros pov was just short single paragraphs that i then expended upon

i tend to get my ideas when im lying in bed so they get dumped into my telegram chat with myself or random docs so that ends up looking like that

when im trying to gather all the pieces i pull them all into a full doc vaguely in order so i dont lose anything. i make a copy and depending how polished the bits are i either work directly in the collection or rewrite in a new doc with the other one open on the same screen

if i already have a plot in mind or its an ongoing project with multiple chapters i might also have bullet points for plot beats or character stuff. Lucky Charm definitely requires that bc its like complicated deductions and stuff. future detco au also has a spreadsheet with a timeline and important dates and birthdays. occasionally i’ll also have a spreadsheet for characters and oc’s so with descriptions and traits so i can find it faster.

when im writing on the fic itself and i get stuck i’ll occasionally just put placeholder bulletpoints with what needs to happen and then continue on or a scene is getting its own doc

before i send it to my beta i consolidate all the pieces in one place and read it through at least once if not more times. do some minor edits, add some stuff, delete some stuff, reword. my first language isnt english so sometimes my wording is wack.

wow i had to pull this one from the VAULTS. i don’t actually have any current wip drafts (just a ton of loosely planned ideas) so this one is from like 2022. it’s an owl house mythology au loosely based off of hades (the video game) in which the golden guard gets reincarnated over and over and tries to escape. i like the concept but have no idea what the plot would be so on the shelf it will sit until i figure that out

hmmmm not really a fanfic trope but ive been thinking a lot about crouching moron, hidden badass. specifically the variant where a character is deliberately hiding how badass they actually are by acting like a moron, at least partially. invoking this trope is like, how to make that character my favorite character 101.

as for fanfic tropes. uh. a favorite of mine that never gets old is childhood friends to enemies to friends to lovers. so many of the ships that have been giving me brain worms throughout the last 5 or so years fall in this category. *cough* sashanne *cough* narumitsu *cough COUGH* catradora. it’s the layer of being previously childhood friends and having that past pure and unconditional friendship. and then having that all torn apart and then rebuilt again. S-tier drama.

99% of my writing is done in my bed bc im paranoid that if i wrote at my desk my parents would be able to see because they tend to randomly barge into my room. when im at college i tend to write a lot less but at least i can do it at my desk lmao

for ‘the girl, the cat, and the black hole calamity’ i went down quite the rabbit hole of archaic and modern physics concepts like entropy, black holes & atomic decay. it was very fun and absolutely none of it ended up in the fic because i was like. why would 13yo anne care about this nerdy physics stuff lmao

i also have researched a lot (A LOT) of archetypal literature, historical figures, jungian psych, & various myths (specifically irish myth) which is on paper for the persona 5 swap au fic that im never gonna write buuuuut mostly was out of my own curiosity. when i was first learning how to write i read up on archetypical literature and campbell and stuff quite a bit so it was very fun to revisit. also this swap au lives in my brain rent-free. it would theoretically be a longfic covering the events of the entire game but i can’t do that. but im gonna have to do SOMETHING with it considering the sheer amount of effort ive put into the planning and reworking all of the main cast’s personas to the point where im pretty sure ive put more thought into my picks than the original p5 writers lmao

Ok so I have started this one but then decided I hated it so it's mulling on the back burner until I have more energy to rehash it out for better stuff is part of The Doctor and The Butler storyarc(?world?) at this point, but basically the robins all take the Doc on a Proper Road Trip and it All Goes To Chaos(tm) because the Doctor Does Not Do RoadTrips in the slightest because he just pops in and out of time on a whim and doesn't seem to do great in small spaces for more than 15 minutes (basing this on the cube episode in the Matt Smith Era). It'd be good but it needs a certain... vibe yk? haven't gotten there.

15- (favorite weather for writing). Not a weather, but I can only write when it's dark outside bc then I don't feel about about not doing homework/other things. Rain is also good tho.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm I don't have any full-length WIP done for you to look at but I think I have some assignments (checks through old google documents) lmao no what assignments (shoves them all into the fireplace). Let me give you the beginning of one of my current WIPS that im really proud of currently even if I've been writing and rewriting it so many times.

It wasn’t even close to the moonset when hands and voices raised them from sleep. “Misha, Rose. On your feet. It’s your turn now.”  “Ugh, just kill me now,” Rose muttered as she and Misha both sat up blearily. “Be quicker and easier.” “That’s the coward’s way out. Also, way too expensive.” Misha stood up and rubbed her eyes. “How much fest prep do we gotta do still, Dani?” She watched as the freckled elf started climbing to the top bunk.  Daeneryl flopped down on her mattress, clutching a fat feather pillow, with a yawn. “Just drinks, but those are last minute.”  “Oh, and be careful how you tread around the old man today.” Fayley peeled off her slippers from her feet as Misha and Rose got dressed into their outfits for the day. “Got a new run of trash gryphons. Damn pests.” “Thought Sammy took care of all that?” Rose sighed as she pulled a brush from the vanity table to untangle a sea of unruly curly hair. Starting from the bottom, she winced every time she had to pull it through to the end.  “He was supposed to. Says he did his whole ‘pied piper act’ which he did, but apparently these are a different breed.” Dani sighed. “Nick’s looking into wizard enchantments.”  Eventually, Rose gave it up and threw it all up in a slicked-back ponytail, held in place with an assortment of ribbons and pins. “One day, I swear, I’m just going to take a knife to this and hack it off.” “You’ve been saying that for five years,” Dani laughed. “I’ll believe it when I see it.” “Watch me.” Rose grimaced. Misha shook her head silently as she braided the front sections of her hair and tied it back with a bright orange ribbon that matched her flowing skirt. It was one of her favorites because it made her stand out in a crowd that mostly wore shades of brown and black for practicality. She slipped into her boots and crouched down, waiting for Rose.

Rose caught sight of her and rolled her eyes. “You’re asking for it. Fayley, your count.”  There was a muffled “Go” and fingers interweaved the laces with their corresponding hooks. They looked up when they were finished, approximately the exact same time. “Call that one a draw, I suppose.” Rose shrugged. “Come on, let’s get some food before we have to deal with life.”

(Cat)dom Hearts AU - Masterpost

alright i'll bite the bullet and finally make this post! i've been wanting to for... a while lol

Ok so (Cat)dom Hearts is an AU of Kingdom Hearts. All of the characters are cats, and most of them have warrior cat names. It still takes place in the KH universe and follows the same plotline, just everyone is a cat and has a different name. 

Only Keyblade wielders and Organization members have warrior names (i say "only" like those aren't the majority of the cast… whatever). Other characters have "kittypet" names. A few exceptions to this rule are Naminé and Yozora (because nami named herself apparently, and yozora just because i Wanted To).

Union Leaders have the suffix "-star" except for the ones from specifically KHUx because they don't actually lead the Unions and are somewhat more of a co-opted leadership? (i may be pulling this out of nowhere, i cant remember rn).

Nobodies (specifically AtW's apprentices) had "kittypet" names at first but after losing their hearts, they were assigned a warrior name (this functions as a replacement for the Recusant's Sigil because i Said So). When they returned to being human (post-ddd/kh3), most of them chose to keep the warrior-styled name but changed it slightly (symbol for how they're not the same as they were before but they're not a Nobody either so they kinda get a middle ground) EX: Isa/Saix was called "Moon" until he lost his heart, then Duskthorn (Xemnas) gave him the name "Moongaze." After he died again and was recompleted at the end of KH3, he chose the name "Bluemoon."

Some cats have breeds, others don't. It's not that much of a big deal.

Most Keyblade wielders have a diamond on their chest (i say "most" because vani, rox, and xion don't have it, im just gonna say that's Because Sora). For most of these wielders, the diamond is their lightest fur color, to symbolize their connection to Light. However, if the wielder has turned to Darkness, (Xehanort, Baldr) this diamond is their darkest fur color. ~symbolism~ hehe

Oh and also Nobodies have a dark-colored oval-circle-thingy on their chest, to symbolize their lack of a (metaphysical) heart.

a few years pass, and albert went to live above ground because he didnt want to be like his father. he changed his name to vyn, because he didnt want anyone to figure out he was a noble from his name. eventually, he meets a girl named rosa, who is very brave and kind and passionate, and he falls in love with her. they have some Struggles, but eventually he tells her his full name—albert, and all the painful and heartbreaking things he experienced, and how that led to falling in love with her. they get together, but one day someone attacks rosa because they thought she was too loud mouthed about bad deeds that she was a thorn (haha) in their side. at her dying breath, he gives her another name: whirlpool in the water, a maelstrom, because whatever crushed her hurt him all the same, and a part of him followed her when she left. vyn was not raised a liar, and he had no beautiful things to speak of, so he said: “you are a maelstrom, that which pulls me beneath with you. when you die, my heart will follow.” he remembered vaguely that he was born from his father, the prince of beautiful things, and realised that beautiful things are also ones that die the quickest. he bought her into the water as her grave, and the blood that had seeped from her wound flowed and dyed the waters a deep red, the colour of wine. blood blossomed from her wound and she became a lotus upon the water. out of anger, bitterness and vengeance, he takes on the name richter instead—judge of all things, the most noble and righteous of anyone: that way, no one could take away anything from him ever again. and he becomes the wicked witch of the seas, making trades and granting wishes to fools in love, wanting to help them see through their love of beautiful things to its bitter end.

Just read raider gangbang and it's like... The most wholesome thing. Loved the dynamics between the boys and Stella, and that most didn't look like models. Like with Bailey, how his big features looked goofy to her, but his personality made it endearing and attractive. Or what kind of a man can pull off a rat-tail?? An infuriating twerp who somehow makes it cute, that's who. Even though I hope she gives in to the urge to cut it of.

And Stella is so... Idk lovable?? In that snarky kinda way that makes you wanna do whatever she says, but only after being snarky back. Like how can you NOT tease and mess with her when she is being all bossy <3 was kinda imagining she looked like Tanya from mamma mia, and then she straight up lounged with a sunhat and everything haha (move out of the way lads, I'm gonna steal her for myself)

Also so cute how she was so ok with the idea that some of them would want something different - with someone different - one day.

This story is one of my absolute favorites, I know its long as hell for a single chapter but it kinda serves as its own lil mini completed story so I left it as such. I love love love all the characters and they all have so much personality! I definitely wanted body and face diversity because its the WASTELAND, like theyre all cute to HER and probably her descriptions wouldnt be the same to someone else.

She’d refuse to describe herself as a nurturing type but she so is, she sees all these dummies as like a basket of puppies who obviously need to be taken care of DUH. Also I love that she turns her nose up at them being raiders and likely doing sketchy shit and she’s like hm, i don’t like the shower is super bloody but wow a new chair thank u!!! I definitely enjoy that she makes things overcomplicated and difficult for herself because of her stubborn heart. Nobody TOLD her to go fuck all these dudes and she’s acting as if she HAS to hahah I love that you were imagining tanya thats perfect. Milf!!! energy!!

I think any of the boys who were named at the end are officially hers, so Colt, Theo, Leon and Bailey. Its a good mix of different personalities and I would love to explore more of their whole dynamic. Certain other side characters who got in on the action im very attached to haha, sackhood for one. I have plans and wip’s that include sackhood, zombie freak and some others.

ok so i started this thing and idk if i should complete it or not

its basically where the pm is like a book publisher which chuuya was in, but acts as dazais replacement who left, and he finds dazais old pm book at a random library and gets attached to it for basically no reason (or so he thinks)

Each page precariously wailed with words of solemnity and passion. Remarks that he could never comprehend and had made no sense to him when he was but an adolescent traversing the world through the more… unconventional substances.

No gifted child could ever stray away from such solutions (even under his parents’ strict surveillance) which is why Chuuya fell in love with people who despised the words ‘success’ and ‘life’. Not so much that he had felt the same, he just enjoyed picking apart these ‘reasons’ and countering them in his own work.

It’s kind of dumb.

For this reason, he never wrote books - he wouldn’t dare. He sought so highly over etching out people's lives in their stories and feared those doing the same to his. No matter what conclusion they would arise, it would never be the one they expected.

That’s why Chuuya wrote poems, you can only speculate about something so short and vague, with the only factual evidence being a semantic field of pain and melancholiness.

So fuck, only a genius could write Chuuya’s story from that.

And that’s also what brought him to a bookstore.

Pondering over each book created anxiety fluttering through the pages as if the texts sweat under his gaze, which they most likely did.

Something about the pensive smell of a traditional bookstore dragged him in.

The types of books he enjoyed were vast and nonexistent—a divide between fairytale-esque worlds to fantasies created as a microcosm of real-world issues.

Something crafted to combat boredom, or in his case, burnout.

Nothing had captured his tastes quite yet, as such of a bohemian romantic.

Not until a certain Shuji Tsushima had bled into focus. A pen name, surely. Or possibly a name meant to shove the reader into a ruse.

Chuuya meekly slides a hand around the spine of the book, in a tight, strangler motion.

The cover is entirely duo chromatic, devoid of pigments but two contrasting fades, a fuchsia pink and a deep black, with a scene of a silhouetted statue.

“No Longer Human”

Shuji Tsushima.

A tale in which one traverses through life with Western ideas meshed with a traditional Japanese Aristocratic family, where he finds himself “disqualified from being human”. Obo Yozo attempts to create reasons to become obsessed with people and how they should be written. He records the cruelties of life and its fleeting moments of human connection and tenderness.

A true resemblance of pure sorrow and despair, a pathetic representation of mankind.

Truly, Chuuya didn’t mean to grab the book, something hypnotic pulled him against the tide and beckoned him to sink his teeth into Obo Yozo’s life. Prying open the paperback cover to skim the forefront page, usually containing reviews or a lettered version of the title, however, instead, was a short author note, nothing but four words, directly in the center of the page written in typewriter font.

Soulmates? What a brash thing to believe in for someone who wrote a story of misery and weakness. Surely someone of that calibre would have no taste for soulmates, a metaphorical phenomenon for someone bound to you, destined to find each other despite the situation.

A stupid ideology.

Chuuya digresses, as his interest did not waver, and this ‘interest’ was piqued, as they would say.

Possibly a normal person would just brush it off.

Well, Chuuya is not normal, at least not to the degree that is considered ‘normal’. Chuuya Nakahara is a goddamn poet whether the world likes it or not, and he suddenly has a profound interest in Obo Yozo.

“Hey, are you getting that book or nah?” A voice bellowed from across the shelf towards the counter. The store owner stared at Chuuya with sleek almond eyes.

“Yeah.”

“Sure, sure, that’s fine. It’s been on that shelf a while, so it’s good to see someone buyin’ it finally. Although- I won’t lie, I only thought a proper nutter would buy it,” She shrugs, “Guess you are that nutter.”

Chuuya raises an eyebrow and shuffles closer to the counter than to the shelf, not yet placing the book down for purchase, “What do you mean?”

“Exactly what I said, mate. Weird story actually, some guy came in here and dropped the book on my desk. Told me to put it on sale in that exact corner you got it from. Dunno why, assume the guy must’ve been some friend of the author, spoke about the author on a first name basis and went on about some vengeance.”

The girl behind the counter frowned and widened her eyes, “But like, I don’t wanna put you off the book, y’know… It’s a bestselling book and stuff, so there’s gotta be some merit to it, but damn when I read the back couldn’t help but feel a bit irked. That’s prolly do to with the guy tho, seriously he was weird, had no eyebrows and shit.”

Alright, weird book with weird origins.

“Okay, and because some guy came and gave you the book means it’s scary?”

The girl tilts her head, “Uhm, well, I mean, that’s not everything. I may not seem like it, but I read a fair bit, sweetie, and I’ve read books by Dazai before, ain’t nothing weirder than his books. I’m just telling you, but it’s almost like the guy ain’t got a soul in him, no faith in humanity at all. Book’ll make you depressed for a good week after, but you seem like the typa guy to eat that stuff up.”

“Excuse me?”

“Kidding. Obviously.” She half smiles.

Chuuya slams the book onto the counter, “Just give me the book.”

This causes the girl to flinch and raise her arms, “Alright, calm down Speedy Gonzales.”

“That’ll be ¥1500- wait, Nakahar- damn, you’re in my English Anthology, old man.”

So when he briskly purchases the book and pockets the number with swift zephyr, nobody is surprised.

Yet, Chuuya does not even glance at the cover when he reaches his domicile. A place of tranquil importance, yet not in the aristocratic style of Obo Yozo. On the mention of him, Yozo truly was a despicable man.

Chuuya had never hated a character more than he hated Obo Yozo. He used as many women as he would see fit, just to fulfil his empty pleasure. Tsuneko was a prime example of such behaviour of Yozo. Fully consecrated by a vow of death, in which Yozo had deemed romantic yet tragic that she had passed and he had not.

“I drank the liquor. She did not intimidate me, and I felt no obligation to perform my clownish antics for her.” The only woman Yozo had ever loved was one who wished to die more than he did.

If Obo Yozo did not see himself as human, was Tsushima one to follow the same ideologies? To produce a story of pure irascibility, you must have many unwanted thoughts or even traumas.

Was this how Chuuya’s generation was reflected, through the eyes of a sorry sob?

The question still stood, why was Chuuya compelled to finish the entirety of the book despite loathing the main character’s decisions?

Would it be such a stretch to believe this author had anything but a heart?

Shit.

Chuuya slammed the book on its paperback cover. He doesn’t care what that woman said, what does he care? The person who wrote this book was probably just an entitled snob that didn’t deserve this much thought

“Y’know what, fuck this. Fuck this stupid book, and fuck this fucking… this fucking author.”

The moment he opened the book, his fate was sealed.

Poets are dramatic, as far as the stereotypes go, and well, they aren’t wrong.

What’s a medium you’ve always wanted to try? aghhh i tried my hand at making gifs a while ago (like two years maybe lmao) but they were shitty because (1) i don't use or know how to use photoshop and (2) i don't know anything about gifmaking, so i haven't revisited it. but i would like to learn more about it and try to make actually good ones because when i hear gifmakers talking about shit like "coloring" the gifs im like ?? you do what to them ?? so yeah it would be nice to pull back the curtain on that at least a little

friendship! and also, the importance of kitchens! friendship is hugely important to me as a person with a shit ton of friends and also as a person who has never been in a relationship - considering i’m always writing fic that is about a romantic relationship i also always want to emphasize the importance of having people in your life who are not your Love Interest. and how much they can add meaning to your life in ways that are equal to but different than the way a Love Interest can.

11. What part of the process of creating brings you the most joy? answered this for hazel as well but let me think of something else!! OH when i write something that elicits the emotional reaction in myself that i want it to elicit in others. like if i write a line that's supposed to be funny and then every time i read it i laugh, that's a winner. or when i finish writing an emotional scene and then go back to reread it and am like holding my breath........THAT'S how you know.

probably! although to be honest usually it’s the reverse, where i don’t know that i want to see something created until it is, and then i see it and i’m like damn i wish i had done this but also i couldve never done this. it’s a great experience though because then once ive read it i can be like wow that was amazing because i got the same feeling i get when rereading my own work (the feeling of “this is exactly the thing i wanted to read”) but without having to put in all the effort of writing it !! it’s awesome. that is how i feel about @burstingsunrise’s muke fic interlude. i also feel this way about most of @reveriesofawriter’s writing.

SORRY THIS TOOK FOREVER MY BAD LOL :') 4. Q: a story idea you haven’t written yet A: BESTIE. YOU KNOW I HAVE A MILLION WIPS. (mild Book of Bill spoilers) Okay BUT one I've been jingling in my head recently is a oneshot about Pacifica dealing with the trauma of her horrible Bill nightmare because it made me insane forever. It is so!!! horrifying!!! and intriguing!!!! I love this idea of her avoiding wearing red gloves and red outfits because it keeps reminding her of the blood staining her hands, thick and warm and raw. And the note about her feeling comforted by the fact that she has Mabel and Dipper's contacts!!! SOBBING!!!! Imagine a scene where she has another nightmare and the only thing that can calm her down is hearing Mabel and Dipper's voice on the other line WAAAAAAAAAAAGH IM INSANE!!!! AND the fact that the twins Understand all of this. They Know how horrible it all is. They're all just kids trying to navigate their way through this trauma. And realizing that it's so much easier to deal with them together. I'm going to combust. Another wip for funsies (and that u don't know abt ;3 ) is one I'll be doing for Honkai Star Rail! 8. Q: if you had to write a sequel to a fic, you’d write one for… A: OOOOOOOOO great question! I've had a lot of ideas for sequels over the years and some that are wips but I think the one I'm most dead set on is doing a threequel to my Coming Home. series! I've been meaning to do it for ages and I just haven't had the motivation to but one day!! I really want to complete it with a short chapter from Domino 2 and 3's unique povs about Anne near the end of the show I just,,,, need,,,,, to drag myself to start the fic,,,,,,,,,

12. Q: a trope you’re really into right now A: Oh man SO MANY but I think right now,,,,, big emotional outbursts? I'm always a big fan of characters who just stuff so much of their emotions into a jar and eventually letting it all out in a huge impactful moment (NOT PROJECTING AT ALL HAHAHA) and changes their relationship with the people around them forever because of that. MWAH!!! CHEF'S KISS!!! I just adore big emotional moments in general (its literally 90% of what I write lmao) and maybe a big part of that is bc I have ADHD and feel many things in very extreme ways and seeing characters feel the same way I do is comforting haha

Q: talk about your writing and editing process A: Oh boy it sure is a Process Okay so generally I get the idea kicked into my face after listening to a certain song, watching a certain scene, or looking at fanart. It's rare that I don't have ideas for fanfics bc I just have them jumbling around in my head all the time. I usually record down any major ideas I have in my google docs or notes app, (sometimes write down a specific line or scene that is super vivid in my mind) and then when I'm hyperfixating on a certain show/character/idea I can always go back to it and add to it! I also browse through my ideas and wips whenever I feel like making something creative but don't know what project specifically. I also listen to lots of music when developing an idea since it helps for inspiration!!! When the stars align and I have the right motivation and energy for a project I usually will latch onto it until it's finished or until I get a considerate amount of it done. I'm usually Crazy Glued to the project for HOURS and it's almost impossible for me to stop lol After that, I usually take a break from the project (sometimes a few hours, sometimes a whole day) and come back to it later to reread it and see what I want to change or add. My editing process is not usually very intensive or long since I get tired of it quickly but sometimes what I'll do is revise it once then come back to it a few weeks or months later with a clear mind and see what I want to change. And the good thing is that by then my writing skills will have improved so the later passes look much better. Also I usually send them to you so that I can tell they're coherent and I'm not going crazy LOL My editing process can also be much shorter and sometimes if I'm really happy with what I wrote or want to post it immediately, I'll just revise it once or twice right after I finish the fic. That's how it turned out with And I try my best, to prove that nothing's out to get you. which was nice!!! Especially since it was more of a quick writing practice. I also find that sometimes I just need to let the text be and not overedit it where it looses the original impact and tone I was going for.
