My Favorite B*rchie Moments

You know, it has been said in the past that I'm too negative about B*rchie. The word "hater" has been thrown around. "Anti", if you will. Some have gotten the message that I disapprove of B*rchie.

Well, my dear followers and Melinda, I am nothing if not cognizant of my own flaws. Reflective, you may say. Basically a mirror. So here, as repentence, I offer a small smattering of my very favorite B*rchie moments. Also, special thanks to @thetaoofbetty for her contributions to remembering the love story of the ages.

Them being so in love and not talking for 7 years.

This declaration of love:

3. Archie announcing he was joining the army and Veronica instantly being like "absolutely the fuck not" while Betty was like "well whatever you need to do, boo, try not to die."

4. When Veronica sings Archie's song and she looks at him like "you absolute fucking imbecile how could you be so stupid".

5. When the BAs were told to watch in 1x13, and Betty flat out told Archie that she was glad they'd found the right people they were supposed to be with.

6. The s2 kiss which was immediately met with "we're never going to talk about this again"

7. Archie's general s5 FWB attitude of "yeah the sex is nice but like she really does have a lot of thoughts"

8. The run of 8 or so episodes in s6 where they not only didn't interact, but it was followed up with them deciding whether or not they were actually dating.

9. The s6 premiere wherein Betty got her sperm and then gleefully cosigned sacrificing Archie.

10. That time she shot him in the head on their wedding day then made out with Jughead on his bed.

A love that dare not speak its name, truly. A romance for the ages. Soulmates.

Week 7

Since Season 7 premieres this week, and all the previews seem to show Betty trying to get some, I figured this would be an appropriate read for the week: the good girl's guide (to getting dick from your roommate) by @thetaoofbetty

Authors description: Betty Cooper is, if anything, a good girl. At least, that’s what she tells herself every time she drools over someone she knows she should consider, at best, a casual acquaintance of her own and newest good friend of her best friend and roommate. He is, unfortunately for her, dreamy in the worst sort of way. Intellectual? Check. Polite? Check. Tall, dark, and objectively delicious? Check. Pretentious (in a non-condescending way)? Check. Ignoring why she’s attracted to that last one? Double Check. Or, Betty Cooper gets a temporary new roommate and she's got a plan to get what she wants.

~ 3 ships: It’s weird, but Bughead is really my first and only “real” ship. I’ve definitely liked (and disliked) other ships, but don’t give them much thought outside of watching/reading the show/book.

~ first ever ship: Again, Bughead is the only one I’ve ever felt compelled to post about, discuss or read/write for (I’d previously just read whatever fics looked interesting without concern for ships). 

~ last song: Not sure if it counts, but I’m currently learning to play Listz’s Consolation No 3, so it’s technically the last piece of music I heard (and it’s pretty much seared into my brain at this point).

~ last movie: "Glass Onion” and “El Camino.” I watched both recently, but forget which one came last. 

~ currently reading: I got “City of Quartz,” by Mike Davis for Christmas and it’s next on my list of things to read.

~ currently watching: I’ve been rewatching “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” (hence the “El Camino” watch) now that the latter has concluded. It’s such a treat (hooray for great writing and continuity!).

~ 3 ships: Bughead, obviously. Fitzsimmons (from Agents of Shield) even though I don’t post much about them but they feel right for No. 2. The third place is always changing based on recent obsessions but I’ve been a shipper of Cresswell (from The Lunar Chronicles) for many many years so that feels right.

~ first ever ship: I honestly don’t know? Maybe Sabrina and Harvey from Sabrina the Teenage Witch (aka the superior Sabrina show)? I remember being into that back before my internet days. 

~ last song: I actually don’t know what song I intentionally listened to last. Turns out I’m not a big music person. 

~ last movie: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - that movie was loooong and I wish I was still as into Marvel as I once was but it doesn’t feel the same anymore.

~ currently reading: Technically I’m about a quarter way through The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet but I’m not exactly feeling it and debating whether to continue or not.

~ first ever ship: Oh this is embarrassing. I think the first time I ever discovered fandom and fanfic was for Meredith and Derek of Grey's Anatomy. Closely followed by Olivia and Elliot of SVU. Funnily enough, I ship neither now.

~ last movie: I don't know how to tell you guys that I don't watch movies. ADHD, you know. I guess it was Samantha Barks and Ramin Karimloo's new movie Tomorrow Morning? Agressively bad but enjoyable.
