What I’m calling By the Sea au, I was thinking about how thetis is nymph and then I was like ‘what if mermaid?’ And here we are.

Thetis the Swamp Hag. Achilles playing Ashokan Farewell on his fiddle to ease the pain while Patroclus saws off a man’s leg. Pride question for the human au: for your ocs, when did they realize their gender and/or sexual identities? Were any of them nervous about coming out to their family and partners? And what was everyone's reaction when they did come out?

no one in the family reacted badly when any of the kids came out! it was more just the kids being kind of nervous to make it official

For Hestia, i think she realized pretty early on that she was bi. the only person she was really nervous about telling was Tumble, since he had just come back to the neighborhood, but he came out to her as bi as well, and the two of them just started laughing because neither had any reason to be nervous! Eventually, when they officially started dating, Hestia made them matching bracelets to wear with the ones she made them as kids!

Hades was nervous to tell his family that he was asexual. He always knew that he was gay, but George was really the only person before his family who knew about him being ace. So, when Hades decided to tell his family, George was right at his side, and Tugger and Misto just gave him the biggest hug

Thetis is aroace, and realized it in her teenage years, when all her siblings were getting partners, and she really had no desire to get into a relationship. She didn't beat around the bush, and showed up to the family Pride event wearing the aro flag and the ace flag, and of course everyone was fully supportive of her!

Apollo didn't realize he was bi until he met both Coricopat and Miela, thought they were both incredibly attractive, and then he thought "oh... i like them both..." and talked to Tugger about it. There wasn't really a "coming out" moment for Apollo, he just showed up to a family event with Cori and Miela, and introduced them as his partners!

Iris was similar to Apollo's experience, it wasn't until she met Electra that she was like "i like girls and only girls". That was when she got really close with Bombalurina, because as much as she adored her dads, Iris needed to talk to Bomba, since they had similar experiences. Bomba helped her to come out, and ofc Tugger and Misto just smiled and asked when Ellie was coming for dinner

of course, in a family like the Jellicles, it's easy to come out, because everyone's part of the LGBTQIA+ community in SOME way lol, so a lot of the kids really never felt the need to officially come out, since they saw all different types of couples and relationships growing up!
