A swamp filled with Goomys.
Tumblr media
Astra was on her way to a nearby city to earn her second gym badge, but there was a problem. To get there, she had to go through a swamp, which she didn't realize would be a headache to get out. Lost in the swamp and growing frustrated that she couldn't find a way out. While wandering, she was startled by an Ampharos holding an Oran Berry. This Pokémon didn't belong in the swamp which grew Astra's fears of it attacking her, especially being the final evolution of Mareep. Ready to run away, knowing her Rowlet and Eevee couldn't defeat it, Astra caught a glimpse of a sparkle on its neck—a Mega Stone. This lessened her fears as Ampharos offered her the Oran Berry. "Aww, thank you, Ampharos!" As Astra said that, she thought its trainer might be nearby. She didn't like the thought of talking to another person but she sucked it up and asked Ampharos where their trainer was so she could find a way out of the swamp. Ampharos nodded and started to search for its trainer, with Astra following behind.
They arrived at a part of the swamp filled with Goomys and Sliggoos, and Astra was in awe of how many there were. Ampharos then led her to a guy playing with the Goomys. Ampharos made a happy "mehh" sound as it's red gems on its head and tail glowed. Astra smiled at Ampharos. She nervously approached him and said, "Hi." The guy looked up to see who was speaking to him. Astra panicked a bit as she recognized him—it was Beleth, an Elite Four Member.
Astra was confused about why an Elite Four Member was there but then remembered that Beleth likes to wander around different places. However, she didn't expect to meet him in a place like this. Panicking, she thought of many ways this interaction could go wrong, but her thoughts were interrupted by Beleth's response.
"Oh! A new trainer! Hello, do you need anything?" Beleth smiled at her while petting a Goomy next to him.
"Y-yeah, umm, I really want to get out of the swamp, but I got lost. Can you help me?" Astra said, twiddling her thumbs nervously.
"Sure! I don't mind. This swamp is pretty big, you can easily get lost inside it, but I know this place pretty well! Since I usually come here to see the Goomys. They are all friendly with the trainers that visit." Beleth held and showed Astra the Goomy he was petting. The Goomy squeaked.
"Huh, why are there so many Goomys and Sliggoos in this place? I-I thought they lived deep within the swamp."
“Well… it’s a long story, but you don’t want to hear me ramble about that. Hey, look! A Goomy is coming up to you.” Beleth pointed at a Goomy that was emerging from the water and approaching Astra. It squeaks at her. “H-hello,” Astra said, still twiddling her thumbs. “Umm, do you want to see my Pokémon?”
Goomy stretched its body up and down while it squeaked happily.
“Goomy seems to like that idea! You should bring out your Pokémon. Some Goomys really like seeing new Pokémon from outside the swamp,” Beleth responded happily.
Astra, starting to calm down a bit, brought out her starter, Rowlet, from its Pokéball. Rowlet let out a chirp. Goomy went to talk to Rowlet, and Rowlet talked back. Goomy stretched its body while Rowlet flapped his wings happily. Astra seemed to enjoy watching them chat and preferred to take a small break for a while despite wanting to get out of the swamp. Beleth seemed to enjoy just playing with the Goomy that came up to him.
================================================ If you wanna see more info about Beleth here although it has some old art -> Beleth and Miya This whole drawing took a long time and I don't know how I survived that long plus making a story that was pretty much accidental and is probably bad and grammatically bad. Anyway I made this for extra stuff. I thought it would be fun to do my ocs teams. (Also, I found the background from pokecharms.com, cause I can't be bothered to make my own) Here are Astra's and Beleth's Pokémon.
Tumblr media
Beleth likes to nickname all of his pokemon. The names of the Dreepy on Launcher's head are Blast and Rocket)

Fablehaven Pokemon AU; pt. 1 (Kendra)
Tumblr media
what i have worked out so far:
Kendra as an aspiring pokemon researcher; she and Seth are sent to Fablehaven (daycare/sanctuary) to help out their grandparents
the main point to that is to get them some field experience with a variety of pokemon. you can't get the full experience of pkm handling as a city kid!!!
child labor laws in the pokemon universe are extremely dubious, but still, Kendra and Seth don't really work Work like Dale. they get the menial jobs, i.e, grooming, feeding, and occasionally training pkm
this works out great for Kendra!!! she gets to see (and register in her pokedex) all types of pkm while also learning all about their behavioral patterns
I can't really see Kendra as a big fan of battling; she has the occasional friendly battle when prompted, sure, but her team selection is in no way geared towards competitive strategies
they are just Her Little Guys
absolutely a fan of contests. those are basically the equivalent of idols for the teenage girls in the pkm universe
obligatorily i have to make most of her team fairy types but i think she'd enjoy the occasional water and grass type
NOT immune to magical horse propaganda! her biggest little-girl wish was a galarian ponyta
the Sorenson are all the way over in Unova unfortunately . sorry kendra no unicorns for you
(she doesn't Know)
Kendra drifts more toward defensive pokemon — the ones that can take a hit and hit back harder
speed isn't much of a priority (leafeon & rapidash as the only outliers)
she spends her time differently depending on the pokemon. swimming with azumarill, going on runs with leafeon, making the psychic horse read Jane Austen, etcetera
team! from oldest to newest
Azumarill: azurill is a fairly easy pokemon to raise — that's why it was the first one Kendra ever trained, a gift from her parents. high friendship comes easy after a few months, and a marill quickly evolves into Azumarill. they so sunbathe together by the edge of the pool
Leafeon: originally an eevee, given as a graduation present for trainer's school. it only evolved after Kendra was already in Fablehaven — there was most definitely a mossy rock in the middle of those woods. they make a good match! leafeon as a species don't enjoy battling all that much
Altaria (Raxtus): same old story of dragon egg raised by fairies except this time they were actually fairy-type pokemon. methinks Raxtus was a wild pokemon who took a liking to Fablehaven as a sanctuary, and upon interacting with Kendra, took a liking to her as well. technically, Kendra hasn't caught him, since a pokeball would restrict his ability to wander around, but Raxtus always comes back to hang out or to help with anything important, so! they're besties. also he mega-evolves bc that's about as close as a can get to canon Kendra's battery abilities.
Galarian Ponyta: remember when i said she wouldn't get to have the unicorn bc she hadn't ever been to galar. well. SOMEONE who does a fair amount of traveling may have ACCIDENTALLY stumbled upon a wild ponyta and decided to catch it and bring it back all the way to unova upon hearing Kendra did very much wish to have one. who would do that though haha. smitten loser behavior (→→→→→ bracken ←←←←←)
Decidueye: originally a dartrix Seth caught in a ranger mission (will elaborate on this. eventually)! they got along fine but this whole evolution line is unbelievably prissy. they need one grooming down daily at LEAST. it was simply not feasible for Seth to take care of it especially since rangers spend most of their time with their partner pokemon only. so Kendra kinda takes care of it unofficially. when it evolves they start practicing archery together. yay
this au has been gnawing on my brain for a while now and im happy to share my genius. seth should be next!

Hey about the requests thing, will this include variants that you may or may not miss? [Basculin anon waiting patiently to mention white striped basculin once basculegion is produced as to not break the order of things]
it won't include those, no. it includes the obvious things, like "hey you should do nacli (A GEN 9 POKÉMON THAT IS HUNDREDS AWAY" or "hey you should do torchic" (A GEN 3 POKÉMON THAT WAS HUNDREDS AGO), but stuff like "hey can you do the other gender variant of this pokémon you already posted" or "can you do this alternate form you missed (e.g. white stripe basculin)" are fine. i may or may not do them, but those are allowed. speaking of which:
Tumblr media
i'll consider this basculin a "special case" on being "out of natdex order" because it doesn't have its own natdex number (which the same could be said for regional forms, but this is effectively the same pokémon, whereas something like alolan vulpix and kantonian vulpix are effectively different pokémon)
Tumblr media
this is mean because of how much i love gen 6 but i can see where you're coming from. gens are going to be forgettable if you didn't play them as a kid, so if you just skipped gen 6 in your time as a pokémon fan, then it'll make sense that it's forgettable to you. but it kinda did introduce mega evolution and also bring the core series into 3d and also give us fucking pokémon go so i don't think you're like. Correct
Tumblr media
i actually had to scroll all the way back on the nose ratings to see if the nose rater did these or not, and realized i didn't always tag them. you wouldn't have to ask me about that—you'd need to ask the nose rater anon themself. i don't do the nose ratings—so if they see this and decide to oblige your request, you'd be the first to know if you weren't on anon

What do you mean when you say Minerva no longer belongs to Peach? Was she traded? Did she not want to be Trainer owned?
Minerva is a fussy Pokemon, she likes things the way she likes them, indulges in fine fabrics, enjoys being brushed and preened, and of course peach has always done this for her, catered to it her entire life, even when money was tight, she would do her best. So much so, she learnt to sew and tailor so she could enjoy new outfits for cheap. Not once has that Pokemon ever had to ask for anything, she’s been adored.
This did not change when grey turned up, he was more fashion forward than peach, and he got along with Minerva, they shared a lot of love for finer things.
And then plum came along. Since she started coming and going from the professors home, she had been drawn to Min, and in turn, the lopunny gravitated to her too. Every time the trio got five minutes to relax, plum would mindlessly brush out her fur, or help her put outfits together. They truly bonded. It has been two years, and they’ve become thick as thieves. When Minerva isnt with her actual trainer working or hanging out, she’s with Plum. This did not go ignored. Peach often looked over at the sofa and saw them flicking through a magazine together, or swiping through fashion blogs on a phone, discussing trends, figuring out new uses for old items once they cycled back into the hottest trends. They clicked. She’d be a fool to ignore it.
And so, knowing plum’s only Pokemon was Missy, a less than strong dragonair with a tendency to get distracted, and the fact that her family was now a well known threat to them all, she decided it was a wise move to perhaps bring the subject of changing Minerva trainer officially. She took her old friend out to the berry fields, normal work, min liked to collect fruits and do these odd jobs, and while they worked, the subject was brought up. Minerva though shocked, wasn’t against it, she would still be able to come and go from the house, she would forever be peach’s darling friend, nothing would truly change, but it was painfully clear that she belonged with the ranger, they got along like a house on fire.
Peach did not tell plum of her plans, instead initiating a battle with her as training, a little fun more than anything else. Missy the dragonair, vs Minerva the lopunny. The poor dragon didn’t stand a chance, outpaced by the normal type. Defeated and somehow not surprised, plum laughed it off, caught unawares by the professor handing her a pokeball and a smooth mega stone for Minerva.
Peach trusts plum to love her partner, to cater to her, and sees that they truly fit as a team. She also knows Minerva will keep her safe should there be an invasion, an attack, or god forbid, her family turn up and start to cause trouble. She feels better knowing that Missy isn’t her only defence.
It is the highest honour peach can possibly bestow, handing one of her beloved personal partners over, trusting her to do right by them. Seeing as she got Minerva as this dusty flea ridden little mess many years ago, and helped her grow into the fabulous, perfect Pokemon she is today, there is a lot of love and respect between the two. Enough to know when it’s time for a change for the better.
Plum of course cried like a baby because she’s like that, nothing surprising, and mega-evolution training has begun, peach no longer needs the skill set, and so she was happy to give her own keystone up, and help the ranger learn to do it safely, it’s become their little weekly event, a tough session sure, but plum enjoys it, and Minerva is happy to spend time with both her partners working hard together.
So while Minerva is still in the house, still around and part of everyone’s life like normal, technically she is plums partner now. A mutual decision. Peach has picked up Riot instead, a midnight lycanroc she travelled Galar with, who is incredibly brutal in nature, and needed more hands on time.

If they ever bring back Mega Evolution to the games, Dudunsparce should get a mega and it's just 1 more segment (like your Two-Segmented Dudunsparce is now a Three-Segmented one and the Three-Segmented one is now a Four-Segmented one).
this would be hilarious and I am in full support of it

Welcome to Project YW!
A fan-made Yo-kai Watch/Youkai Watch project that is about Mega Youkais and the Mythical Ancients!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This blog is run by the only person who came up with this:
me lol XD
This blog will be an archive, sub-account for Project YW. If I feel like I wanna work more on this, you should know where to check back for some updates!!
Sub Main Art Account: @mysticstars02
Before we get started: For anyone who is actually enjoying/interested in my content, please make sure you read or follow the rules!!!
Fail to follow the rules and the block feature will inspirit upon you
Tumblr media
(THIS ALSO APPLIES FOR THE MYTHICAL ANCIENTS IF YOU TOO ENJOY THEM AS WELL)
RULE #1 - Project YW is only for fun and satisfaction
Please don’t assume this account will bring back the YW community spirit or somethin. I do not intend to “revive” or whatever fans are thinking about this account.
On another note please don’t assume Project YW has “way better content than any popular monster-catching game”. I don't appreciate some random ass person bringing up these such topics here on this account. My intention is NOT to make better content, I’m just a human who loves to make epic fanmade designs on these fellows. Again, please do not bring up the “oh this is way better than this” topic here.
Speaking of me as a human-
Sub-rule: "Are all Mega designs & Mythical Ancients are purely created by humans hand or AI-generated?"
If you're against the use of AI over like everything, then this should be very obvious to what my answer is gonna be: All Megas & Myths are created by my human drawing hands.
RULE #2 - Didn't like the Megas/Mythical Ancients? That is totally a-OK!
…as long as you’re not being a total asshole or shit to others enjoying my content
RULE #3 - Permission of Collaborating with my project?
If you are willing to collaborate with my project account for any future fanmade media projects, please message me and I will try to get to you. I have the right to refuse any request or offer
RULE #4 (well not exactly but it's like a note) - YOU CAN OR FREE TO MAKE FAN-ARTS
That
will make me super duper happy if you did! ^^. Just make sure you put credit over my Mega Youkai design(s) and the Mythical Ancients!!
(I would highly suggest my @ main art account)
Onto an important note for making fan art: Please do not
Make NSFW over my fanmade content
Use my fanmade content as cr///o stuff and commercial use. Project YW is personal use
Claim my fanmade content as your OWN work
Using my fan-made content for derogatory, hate stuff, and backlash on the community. The purpose of my fan-made creations is not here to mentally hurt anyone’s health
Please. Do Not. Make use of my fanmade content for AI training or relating to AI content
Now that's all of the major rules (hopefully). Here's some notes that you need to know about Project YW
1.) The idea and design behind Project YW is the major inspiration for Mega Evolution from the Pokemon series and some Legendaries/Mythical Pokemon designs for the Mythical Ancients (It’s super duper obvious for just one group lol). Sometimes it can be the inspiration for the Digimon series.
This account is not a rip-off. It’s not the 1st time I received such comments or feedback (It did happen to me a few times). That’s not gonna stop me, however >:)
2.) When looking for the mega youkais/mythical ancients, you may have to input either Japanese or English names. Almost all of them are a mix of JPN and ENG names
3.) Haven’t seen your favorite youkais getting their mega form yet? I got two things:
This is pretty obvious: When it comes to life events, I mean it. There are cases where a month or so is a whole break from creating the mega yokais. My process on creating the Mega Youkais depends: whether it's short cause it’s easy for me OR it’ll take a few days.
Got a request for me to mega-evolve this youkai?...Sorry! I already got myself a planned to-draw list, so if you’re gonna keep sending me requests, prepare for a mute/block upon you! There are some youkais I may have missed (The ones from the mobile games are the best example). There might be a case where I’m going to ask y’all for suggestions on what youkais would you like to see their mega forms, however there are certain things I need from you guys sooo stay tuned!
Dedicated to the above, if you request mega forms for fankais, that's a best friend only. If you suggest a youkai but it looks unfamiliar to me, please let me know if this design is official or not (I am real serious here, don't try to gaslight me.)
4.) Most important rule of all: I hope my fan-made content surely brings more happiness, amazement, and hopefully motivation to you. I’ve started this project for 4 years or so (?). Project YW always keeps my passion strong and lets me continue to create content that no one has ever thought of.
That is all the rules and notes I want to include so far. I will update this page in case of anything that is majorly happen in the media & community that may affect Project YW
As always, I hope the Mega Youkais and the Mythical Ancients have made your day!!!

lewis hamilton during the press conference [part 1/2], japan - september 21, 2023 (transcription under the cut)
Interviewer: "Lewis, coming to you now, I believe you've already had your first race of the weekend." Lewis: "Yeah." Interviewer: [laughs] "Tell us a little bit more about what you and Esteban have been doing." Lewis: "Yeah, so Eseteban and I had planned, obviously a while ago, that while we're here we'll get our remote control cars together and have a bit of a race in the pit lane. So for me it was very reminiscent of when I was a kid on Blue Peter, and it was really cool 'cause we all share more in common than we probably think, other than the fact that we're pure racers, but it's very rare that we all get to do things like that, so it was fun." Interviewer: "Tell us a little bit about the cars. I believe they were petrol?" Lewis: "Unfortunately, yeah. [laughs] I thought they were gonna be electric." Interviewer: "Hi-revving, as well." Lewis: "Yeah, but that's what I raced when I was a kid. I raced electric and petrol and it was Kyosho, which is basically an evolution of the car that you'll see Senna had, and I had the same car as Senna when I was younger, so yeah, and he's mega at it, so…" Interviewer: "Who won?" Esteban: "It was just a bit of fun." Lewis: "It was just fun. We were speeding it around, but I wasn't far off your pace." Esteban: "No, I was super impressed because he hasn't done it for years and he was like, 'Yeah, start slow' and all that. Because I practice a lot, like I'm constantly on it, and straight away, like first braking points, he nails it, so that's more than impressive." Lewis: "I flipped it a lot of times. [both laugh] But I think I had a softer setup." Esteban: "He had a softer setup." [laughs] Interviewer: "I love it. Proper racers." Look, Lewis, can we bring it onto the weekend, and can I get your reaction to something that Checo's just said? Do you and Mercedes believe that Redd Bull will be back this weekend?" Lewis: "I have no clue. I would think that if they're not thirty seconds ahead like they've done in the past, then something's up. [laughs] But no, I think that, as Checo said, it was obviously a difficult weekend, the last one, but their car should be phenomenal here. They've been phenomenal all year long, they've aced pretty much every circuit, and it's gonna be great to watch that car, in general. Normally you would come here and it's beautiful to watch the laps that they do, because the whole team and their drivers are doing an amazing job with the package they have, so it'll be interesting to see how the weekend goes. I hoe we'll be closer and I hope they're not as fast as the thirty second gap they've had in the past." Interviewer: "Well, what about your car? I think there's a strong argument that it was the fastest at the Singapore Grand Prix last weekend in the race. How hopeful are you for here?" Lewis: "Mmm… I don't know whether that's really the case. I think Carlos was managing at the front. We were all relatively close, I would say, at the front, but what a great race it was, just to have us all that close up front, and I think this weekend, yeah, I don't anticipate having the performance we had in the last race, but we've worked very hard to… We're continuing to try and push the envelope that we have, so I'm hoping that we're not terribly far off this weekend." Interviewer: "Final one from me, Lewis: You often talk about this being your favorite race track. Just describe the anticipation you have ahead of jupming in a Formula 1 car around Suzuka Circuit." Lewis: "I've got a terrible memroy, but I don't remember saying it's my favorite. It's one of the favorites, I think, for all the drivers, for sure, just because it's that figure of eight, it's that historic circuit where you saw Ayrton and Alain racing on many years ago, and it is an incredible track to drive. And it's such a beautiful country, as well, so it's just overall a great trip. Great food, amazing hospitality, and then the track is just, yeah, it's one of the greatest layouts that we get to experience in the calender, and so I just hope that our car works on it."

Grove Digimon Partner: Westley+Willow
Hi we are joining our headmates in picking out a digimon partner/line that represents us. We decided to go with a split Digivolution line that we thought would be fun. Especially since there are two of us. Westley+Willow is made up of well Westley and WIllow. Westley is a ghost boy and WIllow is a skeleton girl. So this should be easy yeah? Just pick some undead/spooky digimon and call it a day? WRONG We love Birds, so we decided to go with a bird/bird related creature theme. We also decided to play with a theme that we thought would be fun, a more bestial side and a more humanoid side of things. We also play around with some digimon who have awkward stages, ones that in their first appearance(animated at least) existed outside of the Traditional Rookie/Child> Champion/Adult> ultimate/perfect> mega/ultimate line of things and tried to fit them into a place that made sense. So lets start things off with Rookie/Child- Hyokomon
Tumblr media
There are quite a few bird starter digimon that we like but we ultimately decided to end up with this cutie for a few reasons. The first being that we love chickens and this guy is just a excited little chicken friend. The second one is the Egg surrounding the body up a nice solid white "armor" if you will, which will be nice to help set up both "champion" stages especially since they are both armor evolutions which, armor evolutions when they first appeared made use of Digimantles or Digi-Eggs. Plus its just so cute. Any Way lets start off with the more Humanoid Evolutions shall we...
First Digivolution path: Champion/Adult- Harpymon
Tumblr media
Harpymon is an Armor Digimon who tends to be accessed by a Child/Rooking Digimon(usually Hawkmon but digivolution in general is weird.) using the Digi-egg of light. We obviously had to have Harpymon on our list because heck our url is Harpyboytits of course it made sense. Not to mention it offers some visual cohesion from from Hyokomon, the white hearkens back to the Egg Hyokomon wears while the red is similar to Hyokomons Orange and the Gold assimilate to it's yellow. It also offers up some nice contrast to the other champion idea we had. But first Harpymon DIgivolves to
Ultimate/Perfect- Shutumon/Zephyrmon
Tumblr media
It is a bit Ironic that I am making Shutumon the ultimate for the *humanoid* evolution line since it was the *beast* spirit of Wind in its original Appearance. But this sleek wind warrior seemed like a very nice pic for an in between stage between the champion and mega stage. I don't have much to say except I really like the design. I guess I can add that the wing/ears are super cool imo. Mega/Ultimate- Valkyrimon
Tumblr media
I had a hard time picking between Valkyrimon and Ancientirismon but ultimately Valkyrimon ultimately felt like it was more cohesive with the line as a whole. The fact that it brings back a bladed weapon makes me feel like i can see this as some sort of Warp or biomerge evolution since those tend to incorporate elements even from the rookie stage. But it also had the white red and gold of Harpymon and ear-wings similar to Shutumon( although valkyrimons are a bit smaller) Alright time for the second potential branching path. Champion/Adult-
Tumblr media
Nefertimon is also a digimon that tends to digivolve from the Digimantle of light( usually Gatomon using it to digivolve), you can even see some of the cat-like elements from Gatomon in this design.(which will actually be relevant later) That being said there are elements that could connect to Hyoko, obviously there is the winged element, but the Yellow, red, and white colors hearken back to both Harpymon and Hyokomon.
Ultimate/Perfect- Hipogriffmon
Tumblr media
Hippogriffmon moves further away from Hyoko in terms of color scheme, with a primarily white and purple which it keeps from Nefertimon. It also regains some of the bird elements from the lines as a whole. It seems very stoic in nature imo. We always have been a big fan of Hippogriffs and Griffins... speaking of....
Mega/Ultimate- Griffomon
Tumblr media
Griffomon feels like an appropriate end for this bird related four legged creature line. While it is the most visually distinct it keeps the yellow/gold motif and the massive front claws the two previous stages had. Amusingly this Griffin digimon has some elements from another mythological creature, specifically the Chimera which is often depicted with a snake like tail. But of course Chimeramon is a completely different terrifying digimon.
And there you have it Westley+Willows digimon partner. :3

Please speak more on your knowledge of vpets???? I've never met anyone who knew anything about them!!
uh oh anon you just slapped the "hyperfixation" button here we go
OK, so, I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for--are you looking for a way to get into it? or are you into it and just want to know my personal faves?? or my general history and opinions of them?? so sure I'll answer all of that. by the end of this you will have wished you were more specific.
I have one of my interests listed as "electronics," mostly to encompass the broad range that is for me, like mechanical keyboards, PCs, synthesizers, game console modding & hacking...but it also includes vpets. Pretty sure it started with vpets.
(Aside: haven't done anything with circuit bending quite yet, but it does fascinate me. A lot of people seem to find it horrifying, especially when it's done with kids' toys, but I just find it...Neat. maybe that's how I know I'm in too deep with this stuff.)
as a Millennial™ I was a small baby child when the craze first hit, and so the whole concept of "virtual pet" was just very formative for me. didn't matter what it was--physical electronic devices like Tamagotchi, PC games like Petz, robotic toys like Poo-Chi or Furby, whatever, I had a little of everything. Tiger electronics and LCD screens dominated our childhoods (RIP).
but then the craze faded, as all crazes do. I became less interested in toys' for toys' sake, and a fair few of the vpets I had became lost in two moves (I'm so sad about my angelgotchi ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. please remake that one next Bandai?!).
wasn't till college where my roommate had a Tamagotchi Connection with her. and I was like, "wait, they still make those?!", a sentiment shared with many of my peers every time I start spouting things about vpets. turns out they never stopped making that shit in Japan, we just...weren't getting the majority of them. Japan had colored Tamagotchi for YEARS and we only JUST got them like three years ago, over here.
I'm very happy about the revival and Bandai's willingness to bring more and more Tamagotchi and Digimon over, because let me tell you, those eBay prices fucking hurt. $80 for a secondhand Digimon X is now $20 at Wal-Mart. Thank god.
I have seen a Giga Pets revival browsing online stores, but uh, Tiger's been out of business a long time now. Those are not the Giga Pets of yore. and Nano Pets? who?? I kinda do miss Nano Pets though...I liked their aesthetic. they had those weirdass talking ones with the super crunchy 8bit voices, and yet, I still played with mine a lot. I think my favorite Nano was a dog one that came as two devices, that you could connect and breed once they reached adulthood, and just continue the generations that way. it'd record your family lineage. I found that one incredibly cool and kinda wonder why more pets hadn't done that. but alas, all of my Nanos are lost to time!
but, like, yeah, I got mega back into Tamagotchi specifically in college. turns out, I can take care of them pretty well! when I was a kid, I lost my Tamas pretty quickly and the rest of what I had were Giga Pets, so I guess they just colored my opinion for the longest time.
here's my general Tama/Digimon strategy, since they operate on similar time scales:
hatch on a day off where you can attend to the needy baby stage and/or be generally aware of the beeping.
once it's at the child stage you're seriously good muting it and playing/feeding it whenever you go to the bathroom or something. after that you just have to be aware of the sleep schedule.
if you want to go for a specific form, look up an evolution chart and follow the instructions accordingly.
you should be golden!! they're super easy if you're allowed the break time to check every couple hours like that.
GENERAL OPINIONS SECTION IDK HOW TO SEGUE INTO THIS ORGANICALLY?????
Giga Pets: I feel like these were the ones that created the stereotype that vpets were hard to take care of--those things were PICKY. if you look up a guide on how to properly care for one so that it reaches adulthood, it fucking SUCKS! don't bother with them! they were just riding Tamagotchi coattails! I had a few of them as a kid and became endlessly frustrated with them, lmao. the revival looks like it's doing weirdass AR stuff, I can't attest to how it is as a "vpet" device, but I feel like it's probably not much better.
Nano Pets: probably the better of the western brands if you're looking for an electronic vpet that's an actual animal and not a funny anime creature. nothing wrong with wanting that. however, I don't think this brand ever came "back," so anything selling itself as such nowadays is bound to be some kind of scam if it's not a '90s used one. I remember them being fairly easy to take care of even when I was a small child killing all of my Giga Pets.
Tamagotchi: the "girly" Bandai vpet. originally sold gender neutrally in the west, Bandai's finally bringing over the modern devices with color and dressup and whatnot. the color ones are a bit unwieldy compared to the classic, but I'm glad we have options to pick from in that regard. go for the classic revival you can find in stores today if you just want Any Old Virtual Pet Device, as it's definitely the most reliable of the bunch. (you fake pausing by going to change the time, and then never finalizing a time change. the color ones have pausing built-in.)
the color ones tend to have some gimmick or another per each release (the latest one has an app and lets you take photos, for example), and are generally even easier than the classic ones. you can literally keep your Tamagotchi alive forever if you care for it every day, while the classic ones do eventually reach old age and a natural death. the color ones are a bit reminiscent of browser games like Gaia with their dressup and room/furniture aspects, and I'd call them fuller "games" as a whole. however, as you can imagine, this makes them pricier.
don't bother with the mini ones or the mascot tie-in ones, unless you really like the mascot. (I think the mascot ones have totally eclipsed the mini ones at this point, but I figured I'd mention them both. they're the same shell and game engine and such.) they're not very involved; more like a glorified keychain than a virtual "pet." but hey, maybe that's what you prefer!
Digimon: a lot of people are surprised to learn that Digimon was originally the "boy" version of Tamagotchi, and not, (shocker) a Pokemon ripoff. but yeah, it is, and it's my favorite! you'll get a big evolution chart in every device, and now that Bandai is bringing more of them out here, they don't cost an arm and a leg on eBay. that's kind of the tradeoff with Digimon--due to the existing fandom, a lot of Japan-only products are pricey or get snapped up immediately.
but thankfully, we have a lot of cool ones in the west. any Digimon vpet you see over here marketing itself as just a Digimon vpet will be the 20th anniversary vpet, which is a FANTASTIC first Digimon imo! it has a huge amount of QoL compared to the original vpets from the '90s: there's RAM, so your progress isn't killed by your battery life, you can train up to two 'mons at once, and you can fight other 'mons as a sort of "stadium" mode rather than NEEDING another device to connect to (which was pretty harsh because battling others determines if you got to evolve or not).
the Digimon X are my favorite vpets overall, but they have a bit of weird backstory that was in Japan-only TV specials and stuff, so the US releases of them...just...market them the same way? be careful if you order an English one if it says "X" or not, in case you're looking for the 20th. the Xs have an actual "campaign" mode with RPG leveling, which is what makes it fun to me--you unlock new evo branches with your progress, so I try to make it to the end of each one. you can store your digimon, too, so if you got a big strong one you don't want to grow old, you can just shuffle it out and raise a new egg.
the Pendulums haven't come out over here, which is a shame, because I like that the devices are specific Digimon elemental families. just makes sense to me! I know the Pen 20th is like the holy grail of Digimon devices, because you can hack the board to unlock every egg that was in that lineup, which makes for the biggest evo branch in any Digimon device. but it's like $300 on eBay AND you have to mess with the PCB. so, no. if you want a modern Pendulum (which is the Pendulum Z line, though I think they recently wrapped it up?), you kinda have to be on top of the preorders from Bandai's site, or pay scalper price. the Pendulums function similarly to the other vpets, but have a gyro shake battle system, and focus more on new digimon and fusion evolutions, almost requiring you to have more than one device...but the fandom loves them.
the actual Digivice electronics are less a pet and more a pedometer with a game attached. these fetch high prices on eBay and are often gimmicky, so I wouldn't go for them nowadays unless you were strictly a collector. apparently the Japanese ones are better, but I don't think it makes them "eBay scalper price" better.
(side note: Japanese devices are fine for Digimon, as the menuing is still in English for some reason. it's a bit harder on Tamas, because of all the accessories and such you can collect. In terms of finding more obscure devices, JYW has my back.)
I tried a bit of the Vital Hero but couldn't get into it, sadly. a bit too unwieldy on the wrist, and it wants you to do a bit of exercise in order to make any progress. which is, like, fine, but it's not really what I was looking for. I guess I was hoping it'd be more like the Pokemon Pikachu, counting your steps and gaining happiness etc. that way? but it wants me to do squats. eh.
The cool thing about the standard Digimon vpets (vanilla/20th, X, and Pendulum), for me, is that it's always been backwards compatible. there's a generic battle system baked into each device, so my Pen Z that I bought a couple years back can battle with my original '90s vpet if I so desire. AND, if you like Arduino stuff, you can very much spoof other devices to connect with if you know how. I've literally battled with folks across the world using this silly little program and an Arduino board. lots of folks make their own on Etsy and such, and the Discord is very friendly to new tamers, making this all less intimidating. I certainly don't know how to program, but I've done it.
they recently announced a color Digimon, which is like, wow, about time, but I'm a little worried it might bring the devices more toward Tama territory, of not being very compatible between generations. fingers crossed, but both are owned by "Bandie" "Scamco," so...we'll see, I guess.
BUT. YEAH. THANKS ANON. here's my collection, thank you for entertaining me.
Tumblr media
I literally just came back from the store to this ask. I've been typing for like an hour and a half straight. ahh. sometimes, I go down the toy aisles just to see what's Hip With Kids nowadays. each and every time I STILL feel tempted by whatever FurReal has currently put out or something. (also I'm very happy when I see Tamagotchi & Digimon there.)
I have ideas for a vpet like program thing, or perhaps a story that involves similar devices somehow, but currently it's on the backburner. but lord if I don't end up thinking about it every time I play with one of these.

Dungeon Crawling without Gold
This is a bit of a train of thought post with no conclusions.
I’ve been running my newest in-person game of dungeon games for a few weeks now, a total of five sessions spread across two parties. It’s using my in-house rule-set that I’ve talked a bit about. That rule-set, Barefoot Pilgrims (BfP), was originally built to lean heavily on travel and the “journey being the destination”, but I figured I’d see how BfP ran as a dungeon crawl. After all maybe the “crawling is the destination”?
One of the big tenets of the rule-set is that an active currency should be avoided since being able to haul a ton of wealth with you would invalidate a lot of choices in what/how you pack your bags. Inventory management is a whole thing in BfP. The quick and dirty is that you lower your maximum Stamina (HP) by the Load of the things you carry. It gives a ton of weight (heh) to the decisions players make on what their character carries with them. Most OSR murder hobos will take any loot they find and stash it away or purchase better equipment with it. Which is fine and dandy, who doesn’t love that? I wanted to see what would happen when the players had to choose which of the cool things they found in the dungeon they would keep, and if selling something cool wasn’t an option what then?
This past session the players completed hauling a bunch of neat stuff out of the mega dungeon and the party immediately asks where they can sell it. I told them there was no cash in the setting, it’s all barter. We then had an out of character discussion about why. Which I always encourage at my table. (For total clarity I let them “buy” starting equipment with copper, with a note that they shouldn’t get attached to the idea of cash. I probably messed up when I offered to let them buy a house.) I explained that cash is inherently easy to carry and that would invalidate a lot of the inventory stuff they liked. They argued that the inventory was already tight, and I said yeah it’s supposed to be. I want them to have to make decisions, not making decisions is what makes inventory systems boring.
Finally we landed on a wait-and-see approach, functionally some money exists but it’s all ancient and only the wealthy have it. My gut is telling me that we are on the right track with no cash. Next session I am going to bring up the idea of no land-ownership and while in town the town will trade supplies for things they bring-up. I think that might be the right move. Functionally ripping the capitalist tendencies of dungeon delving out by the roots and see what happens.
Writer’s Note:
Any way this is less of an informative post and more of just me noodling about this issue. If y’all have thoughts I’d love to hear em. Also I am finishing up getting Barefoot Pilgrims down in a more cleaned-up state. Folks who backed Still Waters on itch a while back will get this totally for free, since BfP is an evolution of Adrift Upon the Still Waters of that Passionless Sea. If you’d like to check out my games you can see em here: https://dastardlydave.itch.io/

Steven Universe Characters as Pokemon Trainers
Tumblr media
Okay so a little background about me: I have never really liked S.U’s fandom, and I quit the show some years ago, before its finale season. I do not watch it anymore, and my general opinion on the show’s execution is that it was that it would have been a much better show if it a.) had been shown from multiple povs instead of always being through Steven’s eyes, and b.) had been able to focus its themes and stories more. It also should have been shorter. I think, as seasons progressed, that it got to focused on trying to be a show about everything (every genera and every topic) and that the quality in how it handled situations was hurt by the choice of quantity.
All of this does not mean I see the show as without praises. The art style and colors are very fun. A lot of the songs were great. Characters could be really unique and cool at times. A lot of the issues I have with it I can tell are the result of CN imposing restrictions and not allowing Rebeca Sugar to write the show how she wanted/envisioned it. This brings me to one finale trait of he show that I will always praise it for: It was front-line in showing networks LGBT+ characters and relationships, not just hinting coded ones but making them explicit parts of the show, did not mean have to mean that the show could no longer be watched or enjoyed by kids. We would not have the present day representation we do in children’s media without Steven Universe paving its way.
On a semi unrelated note I have been getting back into Pokemon lately, and have been imagining characters from cartoons I have watched from Disney as trainers (I have like 7 previous posts with those teams by he way if anyone would like to check those out too). After I finished doing Disney shows I thought of cartoon Network, and even though I have long since stopped watching SU the question “what pokemon would Garnet have?” popped into my head and I ran with it until I had done her and seven more characters. In honor of Pride Month I am posting it now.
Garnet
Tumblr media
I will start with the Leader, and the one who I started this train of thought with.
Flareon (was originally just Ruby’s) and Glaceon (Originally just Sapphire’s): because they have different fire and ice types, but are from the same branch evolution
Mawile (was originally just Ruby’s) and sabbleye (was originally just Sapphire’s): So I was looking up pokemon pairs and found out that these two were both version exclusives to the ruby and sapphire. That they can also both mega evolve is adds their perfection.
Slowking (has always belonged to Garnet): I had to give Garnet Slowking. Slowking is when Slowpoke and shellders fusion becomes so close they go from being two pokemon attached at the tale/mouth to one pokemon
Hariyama (has always belonged to Garnet): Garnet needed a boxer to match her style of fighting. I was originally going her Hitmonchan, but it just looked so small against some of the titans on Amythyst’s team, and Garnet is supposed to be hands down the strongest Crystal Gem. So I had to swap it for a bigger, heavier, hitter.
Amethyst
Tumblr media
Ditto: an obvious choice for Amethyst whom shape shifting was a favorite game and method of expression for.
Ganger: It’s both a tough fighter and the ultimate prankster. Gangar and Amethyst together are a manse to all things decent and orderly (Or at least that is something Pearl likes to say when they try to have fun with her)
Machamp: They are both wrestlers
Snorelax: Another pokemon that I remember being a pretty powerful member of Ash’s team, but its also really laid back and prefers to eat and sleep. Amethyst can chill with Snorelax. Plus I just have this image of her in her bouncy ball form bouncing up and down on its jiggly stomach while it wither sleeps or genitally tries to bounce her.
Turbbish: I looked up what the messiest pokemon was, since Amethyst was pretty much a slob if I remember correctly, and Turbbish is what I got. It enjoys needling  Pearl’s miccino. The two seem to have a feud going on, but are friends regardless. This one could also tie into Amethysts self worth arc. Turbbish is trash which is how Amethyst saw herself. But it is still a valued member of her team, just like how Amethyst has always been a valued member of the crystal gems.
Wishmur: hugable plush, and a little boom box. Amythyst can party with Wishmur,
Pearl
Tumblr media
Clampearl: I had to. Its based off her gem, so of curse I absolutely had to. I feel like sh would be more likely to evolve it into Gorabis than Huntail, its more inline with her style.
Minccino: It is listed on wiki as being one of the cleanliest pokemon and as we all know Pearl is a neurotic neat freak. Minccino enjoys making jabs at Amethysts Turbissh. The two seem to have a feud going on but are friends regardless.
A Hisuian Lillligant: Now Here is a pokemon I feel really represents Pearl, how the worls is meant to precieve her and how she see’s herself. Lilligant is thin, lightweight, feminine, and completely unintimidating. It looks like nothing more than a graceful dancer. But  picked the Hisuian version specifically because in addition to being a grass type it is also a fighting type. Pearl may not look like a fighter on the outside, but she definitely is one.
Primaria: This would be one of if not the strongest pokemon on her team. Dance style is important in SU as it’s how the characters draw forth weapons and fuse. Pearl’s style always seemed akin to ballet to me and Primaria is what I got when I googled Ballerina pokemon.
Marowak: the way it wields bones reminds me of the way pearl wielded her weapon arsenal
Escavalier: Sam reasoning as with Marowak, adding to it that Escavlier is clearly  based of a mid-evil knight, and Pearl could easily be considered a knight to Rose/Steven’s round table
Steven Universe
Tumblr media
Ralts: I got tired of using the Chancey line for any character with medical talent/healing abilities so I looked up what other pokemon could use heal. I picked Ralts because like Steven it is kind of girly, and also because its evolution line is madly powerful.
Chatot: Greg gave it to him. The universes are a musical family so they would have t have musical pokemon. i gave most of them to Greg. but Chatot due to its size and cutness, seems really well suited to Steven. Also adding that Parrots are really loving compainions to their owners, and I bet Steven could teach his Chatot to sing.
Male Pyroar: For Lion. Would it also be considered a gift/inheritance from his Mom?
Bronzo: For his shield powers and desire to defend what he loves. It has a close friendship with Connie’s honedge.
Vanillish: First episode “I can summon my shield by eating ice cream”. Yes I know that wasn’t actually true, but you cannot tell me Steven wouldn’t love this pokemon.
Larvitar: In no way was I going to get away with not giving this male queen of the rock people a rock type pokemon. I went with Larvitar because baby dinosaur
Connie Maheswaran
Tumblr media
For some of these I originally intended to give her the next evolved form. Then I noticed her team had a lot more higher evolution's than Steven’s, and decided it would be better to keep them about equal, since they train and fight together (Steveonnie).
Honedge: Because Connie is the sword to Steven’s shield. It has a close friendship with Steven’s Bronzo.
Kricketune: She plays the violin and it is violin based
Vulpix: neither her team, nor Stevens has had a fire type yet, and at least one of them should have one. Vulpix, and its evolution Ninetales are both Fire types I consider to be very smart, and I could see it making a strong member of onnies team.I like to think it would be buddies with Stevens Vanilish
unown letter “M”: I gave both Dipper and Amity unknowns on my Disney lists (deserving so) and tried to make them the only ones, since I know its a very rare pokemon. But SU was on a different channel and I had to give Connie one. In addition to being extremely intelligent and loving to read, Connie basically stepped herself into the unown when she decided to become the first human soldier in the Crystal Gems. I gave her the letter “M” for her last name, and because if it turns upside down it would be a “W” for warrior.
Spoink:So originally I had it as a gruntpig and I was going to say that Connie did sports with it, then I had to de evolve it, then I found another pokemon for to be Connie’s primary sports buddy. But I decided to keep Spoink on her team because it is a good psychic type pokemon and its great at balance. Connie balances so many extracurricular activities on top of being an honor roll student.
Nozleaf: Connie’s primary Sports buddy. The pair are great at playing Tennis, pokemon ping-pong, and sparing together.
Greg Universe
Tumblr media
Warturtle and Cyndiquail: So most of his pokemon are music based (they are a band) but I did want to give him a Warturtle to to help him out at the car wash; and a Cyndiquail to help him grill food and keep warm in the winter.
on to his music pokemon.
Ludicolo: Both are big, goofy, and fun.
Chimeco: Both are chill, relaxed, and a soothing presence
Toxtricity: Rockstar pokemon.
Meloetta: This is a more OP pokemon than I would usually give someone, and I am not sure if it stays with Greg all the time or (more likely) lives on its own and just frequently visits him . But we all know that mythical space goddesses adore Greg Universe.
Lapis Lazuli
Tumblr media
Her pokemon are all water and flying types for obviuos reasons.
Cramorant: So did anyone else ever read that comic where, before pumpkin, Peridot and Lapis adopt an abandoned baby bird and Steven decides to help them take care of it? But Lapis winds up doing pretty much all the actual work because Steven and Peridot do not really understand how to take care of it? But Lapis is able to feed it and teach it to fly? Well the point is she is actually really good with Birds so I am giving her a couple of them, like Cramorant and
Mukrow: So since I watching the show before it ended I know that Lapis comes back from space, but I have no idea if her and Peridot ever got back together. But they were that cool artsy couple for at least a few seasons and I wanted to give them both  artsy pokemon. Turns out the only art based Pokemon is Smeagle.WTF? Smeagle doesn’t really work for either of them since its a pinter and they were sculpters. So I did some out of the box thinking and decided they should both get pokemon that like to collect *cough steal cough* cool, and shiny objects, that they could use to create meep-morps. Lapis’s is Mukrow.
Slowpoke: This is not meant to show any tie or similarity between her and Garnet, who has its finale evolution. This choice honestly does not really have any deep reason to it. Slowpoke is just a really dopey water pokemon and given Lapis’s sense of humor she might find it funny to have.
Omanyte: a water type pokemon that has a shell it peeks/craws out from sometimes. Lots of symbolism for Lapis’s arc in this one.
Poliwrath: Wasn’t it a common part of her fighting style to knock any gem she wanted away from her flying with water fists? Poliwrath helps with that.
Gyaradgyos: I want you to look me in the eye and try telling me that Lapis Lazuli could not handle a Gyaradgyos. Yeah do not even try that lie with me.
Peridot
Tumblr media
Magneton: Peridot’s ace pokemon. I picked it out due to her magnetic powers and technical intelligence.
Pachirisu: Not only do I see electric and then electric and grass pokemon as being Peridots favorite types, but Pachirisu also happens to be small, adorable, hyperactive, and keeps on form all its life. Pachirisu is basically the pokemon equivalent of Peridot as it is.
Egylem: Peridot was the first Homeworld gem to be shown landing on earth. I picked Egylem first for its whole “little body, big headed, space alien” vibe. Also according to Bulbapedia it typically has a personality that is similar to Peridot’s.
Zigzaggoon: Peridot’s little meep-morp helper. It was close with Lapis’s Mukrow, and the pair would go on scavenger hunts together to find supplies for their masters sculpting hobby.
Pumpkaboo: For Pumpkin. Vegetable Farming was hinted to have originally been Peridot’s idea, and she is the one who kept Pumpkin in her and Lapis’s split.
Sunflora: Again she loves gardening, and growing/tending to flowers was one thing she started doing as a therapy exercise after the split.

Zinnia and Sapphire were sitting together on Sapphire's bed. as they were catching up. Sapphire talked about her past and her family... about her friendship with Heidi and Daiyu... and about how the war affected her. Zinnia, meanwhile, talked about Mega Evolution, Rayquaza, and about May. In addition, Zinnia was holding Sapphire's Altaria plush while Sapphire was holding her Gardevoir plush.
Tumblr media
"Think about it this way: It's kind of like how Dark-types are to Psychic-type Pokémon. Dragons are more in-line with Psychic-types, but they generally have really high stats to make up for it. Pokémon like Garchomp and Dragonite are big powerhouses while Goodra can tank really hard hits. Not to mention the vast coverage they get."
"Oh. Okay. That makes sense." Sapphire nodded. She'll have to see how this all works first-hand, then. "Is there anything else that I should keep an eye out for, then?"
Zinnia gave the question a hard thought. "Well, not exactly. There are other big, region-specific differences, but considering that you're in Sinnoh, that's really all you need to think about. Focus on the new changes and how the world works. Then, we can introduce you to more advanced stuff like Dynamax or Terastallization! Sounds good."
Sapphire nodded.
"Good! You know, you're a really good listener. That's definitely a big similarity between you and May, I guess." Zinnia laughed. It was nice to teach someone a little like this. "Though... one more thing--"
"Yes?"
Tumblr media
"You... said that your Pokémon buddies died in that war, right? So, I'm guessing you don't have any Pokémon anymore...."
Sapphire shook her head. She seemed a little more somber.
"..." Zinnia nodded. "Tell you what? No pressure, but I want to introduce you to someone and add you to a group chat. If all is good, we may have someone that can hook you up with a starter Pokémon in this region. I know that whoever you get won't replace these fellahs--" Zinnia petted the Altaria Plush. "-- but maybe making a new bond in a new place will help you in the long run. Does that sound alright?"
"...." Sapphire was silent. The act of "moving on" was still so foreign to her.... She thought that she could spend much of her life with most of her Pokémon, if not all of them. Even now, she continued to cling onto the old memories by proxy of these plushies. Would it be disrespectful of her friends' legacy if she really tried to give Pokémon training another chance?
...
....
... a feeling started to wash over her. For some reason, she felt... reassured. Even though she could never have her friends back, the act of holding onto their memory was enough to keep them alive in some sense. Losing the bond of one doesn't mean to prevent the bond of another.
Maybe she could grow from a Pokémon journey again, just as she did in the past.
Tumblr media
"....Yeah. Though, I'll likely bring a plush of one of my friends with me for the beginning of the journey. Reminders of the past and all that."
"..." Now, that brought Zinnia back. Aster... she was a big "reminder of the past" for her. She remembered back when she first went out of the Dragon's Den with Aster... how she thought that she would never be separate from her dear friend... and yet, here she was. Aster -- the Pokémon -- was back in the wild, taking the lessons they both learned together with her to her new life. As for Zinnia? She was here... considering what to say or how to bring it up.
Maybe it's a topic for another day.
Tumblr media
"That sounds like a good plan. Feel free to take whatever you need." Zinnia nodded. "Anyway, let me call Leaf and Hilda. Let's see what they say about it."
--
Tumblr media
"Oh, hey, Zinnia." Leaf looked onto the video call. "Also, hey Hilda!"
Tumblr media
"Hey, gurl!" Hilda was chuckling. "Man, Zinnia, must be important if you're calling us up like this!"
Tumblr media
"Heyyyyyy! Honestly, I think it's rather important enough to get you two involved. I have someone that I wanna add to our Starter Squad group, but also a little favor to ask of either one of you, if that's alright..."

The Flames That Burn Away Evil
Moments before Blaziken appeared
Trainer: That's all of them Blaziken, let's wrap up and go watch the Defense Force clean up the rest of the Youju.
Blaziken gave a quick nod of agreement before jumping up to the nearest building to meet Trainer, Pidgeot, and Rotomdex. They were at the site where Kafka, Reno and Kikoru were sent on their first mission, the reason was because they wanted to watch there new friends on their very first mission with the Defense Force. Which had been to kill Mushroom type kaiju that was swarming the city. Though trainer couldn't help but want to help out even if it was a little, so they brought Blaziken out to wipe out some of the kaiju that made it to the outskirts of the city though with the added restriction that they only use fighting type moves for a bit of training. The battle went on without a single trip up and the entire area was soon cleaned of all Mushroom Kaiju. Though just as the group were about to make there exit a concerning message from the Defense Force picked up by Rotomdex, soon came to the attention. They had lost contact with Reno and Iharu, and that changed the group's plans entirely.
Present Time
So, here stood Blaziken, expression being completely stoic towards, Reno and Iharu before moving forward to confront the threat.
No.9 meanwhile was busy reattaching his jaw from the attack.
No.9: What was that? The force in which it hit me was immense, what could have caused-
No.9 was cut off as a loud thump caught his attention. Turning towards the source of the sound, he came face to face with an odd sight, a tall red avian like creature.
No.9: Hmmm, who are you? Another Kaiju? No that can't be right, are you the one that sent forward that attack?
Blaziken just stood there ( MENACINGLY) not giving any sort of response just a intensw stare while there arms were crossed.
No.9: Not the talkative type eh? Well there is one way to find out.
Raising there finger they shoot out a projectile expecting them to either take the hit or be killed, however neither of those things happened. As Blaziken in a singular swift motion caught the projectile and burned it to ash.
This slightly shocked No.9 but really peaked their interest.
No.9: You caught my attack?! How very unexpected, but lets see how you handle more of those.
No.9 grew two extra arms froms his back and prepared a volley to send towards Blaziken who stood there still, not worried in the slightest. The volley No.9 sent was faster than the naked eye could normally see, however Blaziken saw each and every one, and swiftly countered them all, futher shocking No.9. Though before No.9 could say anything, Blaziken held up there hand over the face, which No.9 now noticed that the hand had a fingerless glove with an odd marble like gem inside.
The next part was instant, a bright light covered Blaziken entirely as his form began to change, and when the light died down, Blaziken now stood with the power of Mega Evolution couraing through him.
No.9 stood there in sheer curiosity to how the strange creature pulled that off, but there instincts blarred at them and they just blocked in time for a devasting punched that caused fissures in the ground.
Calling what happened next a fight would be uber generous.
No.9: Wh-What is this? I can barely keep up.
Mega Blaziken's punches and kicks easily caused shockwaves throughout the area. As Blaziken's beatdown on No.9 was nothing short of merciless. A flamming kick turned No.9's torso to ash in an instant, a swift punch which ripped away his entire upper right side, a flurry of kicks and punchs from a point blank Close Combat. No.9 couldn't regenerate fast enough to block out the damage dealt to him at such a rapid pace. Even bringing forth corpses to give him a second did nothing, as Blaziken simply turned up the heat and burned them all to ash as they delivered a devastating blazing kick to the face! Blaziken had let this battle drag on far longer than he should have and decided to end it right there. All who beared witness to the attack would be left speachless as it left all in daze from the speed and power it showed.
When Kafka eventually joinded the fight all he saw was Mega Blaziken standing tall over a barely living No.9
No.9, you fucked up. That's definitely gonna leave a scar no matter the regeneration abilities. Also the Mega Evolution probably singled where they were to the other Defense Force officers.
No.9 ends up playing dirty to escape by shooting at two arriving officers. Something which forces Kafka and Mega Blaziken to intercept. He can't exactly die without dissecting such an incredible discovery.

My unpopular opinion (pokemon)
I prefer 3d over 2d style: I'm being honest I likes more the 3d pokemon than 2d after I likes both but I am tired to hear "oh no they take away it's soul booooh" no stop. they're the same pokemon with softer colors nothing less nothing more end of story
I hate 4g and 6g: seriously why they are praised ? If it's nostalgia I understand but these gens have nothing oh pardon me 6g has mega evolution "sarcastic wow" 4g is a copy paste of the 3 first generation and 6g has nothing special it's terribly basic their antagonist are the worse.I can't believe people actually preferred this bland gen over 5g that was way more worthy than these two fraud
It's not only about pokemon but: a game with bad graphism isn't a Bad game. So I don't say for every games with bad graphism. But I have enough that people says "bla bla bad graphism = bad game" no because opposites exist a game with good graphism isn't a good game Stop pretend opposite . I understand for the case of scarlet/violet that is also buggy but the game has it's quality that NO ONE want to admit like it's scenario that is one of best after black and white. But yet yes I would liked that GF take more time for the game to look prettier and less buggy because there had only 10 month between legends arceus and scarlet/violet
I think the hates on somes pokemon is just stupid: example popplio what did this pokemonn did to you ? do you remember of all hate art people did on popplio seriously I never understood why people hated that pokemon so much if you dislike a pokemon okay but you don't need to do hate post about it. like i don't likes gardevoir yet I wouldn't do a hate art about it
I think we should stop with the "bring back national dex" thing: I understand that frustrating you to not play all your favorite pokemon but seriously you're just doing a tantrums over nothing can't you just enjoy a game without bring it back ? I think you can but you don't want
I actually like enamorus: so I understand why people dislikes her. She appear a bit from nowhere and she's not the prettiest pokemon but it's like popplio her hates is stupid. Again What that pokemon did to you ? . I think it's a bit exaggerated...
The elemental monkey are not bad: they are hated for what ?. used for gym leader then left in pc ? No i don't imagine my party without any of them and to me the pre evo are adorable and their evos is cool like any pokemon if you training them well they can be good pokemon
