Ranking the difficulty level of becoming the hortator for the great houses, from easiest to hardest:

Hlaalu: by far the easiest, even if the people you need to talk to are somewhat spread out around vivec and the surrounding countryside. The councilors mostly all agree pretty quickly and without much of a fuss, and you have explicit permission to kill one of them instead of trying to persuade him.

Redoran: absolutely fucking awful to try and get the redoran councilors all behind you. Everyone is situated neatly in Ald-ruhn, but good fucking god the amount of running back and forth between them all is awful. They all hate your guts and it takes so much effort to not chew your way through the walls of the crab shell. Also having to go all the way to vivec just to kill one of them and then go BACK to Ald-ruhn is annoying. I would list Redoran as the worst were it not for:

Telvanni: by far the worst group of councilors to try and communicate with. Everyone is in a different mushroom tower with a different, nearly identical name, and even just keeping who goes where straight in your head is an olympic sport. You're also just kind of fucking out of luck if you can't cast levitate, or if you can't get any rising force potions because you checked every vendor selling potions on vvardenfell and somehow only managed to find 3, despite needing way more than three because of how much running around between the towers you have to do in order to complete the tasks each of the councilors asks you to do in exchange for their vote. Jesus fucking god.

Dee's the writer and director... stepping into the leader position she naturally gravitates towards... she's casting the roles. She cast wrong in dee day, but this will change.

She always wanted the lead role before, which got in-between mac and dennis, but if she steps back (behind the scenes), she won't be their buffer anymore and then...

I rewatched aluminum monster vs fatty magoo and noticed how bad mac is at being controlling and manipulative (he follows exactly what frank says, doing things that he's still trying to apply to this day, like announcing dennis' announcement), how dennis can only ever see himself as filling the role perfectly, and how dee naturally stages a strike and everyone listens to her.

I also rewatched gets held hostage and noticed how it heavily features frank's will and how his gun saves the day, both elements that are coming back in tandem in ep2 of s16... and hostage is a very interesting ep in analyzing the group dynamics and how they interact with each or betray each other. It's also like... its talk of stockholm syndrome, because due to dee's monologue I feel like "why are you doing this to me?" will be a theme, in s16. Because it's like... well ok, no only is it also in gets whacked p2, but it implies that you fell in love with the other person because they did something to you...

look, I'm being rambly (as usual), but what I'm saying is that I feel like s16 will pull a lot from s3 specifically... I guess we will see more clearly when it airs, but I wanted to put it out there. It's not just THAT season tho there's like, season 9 too. and 14.

I've been contemplating where i think succession is going, in this, its final season. Seeing Roman and Gerri's tenuous relationship grow sour, and watching the relationship between Shiv and Tom transform into something we have never seen before, i have lost all confidence i once had that TomGreg would at least be acknowledged as a thing that exists. I think that Roman and Gerri had such an interesting dynamic, and i genuinely believe that love was possible, if it didnt already exist. Roman obviously has mommy and daddy issues, and you can say its unhealthy or weird, but Gerri was the person that he showed the most of his true self to, and Gerri wasn't repulsed by it, but enthralled, intrigued, they matched each others energies perfectly. But now that's been taken away from him, most heartbreakingly so, on the day after his father passed away, where he has to act like he doesnt care about her anymore, but inside, desperate to cling to her for comfort, but alas, no comfort was to be had. So, we've had this relationship of sorts, built up, and in one fell swoop its been destroyed, and treated as if it never happened, back to business as usual.

Which brings me to TomGreg. These two characters have been glued to each other since season one, and now all of a sudden we're supposed to ignore all the not-so-heterosexual conversations and gestures between them? Tom and Shiv are now having a more Tom and Greg type relationship, Tom's able to be openly hostile and upset towards Shiv when he feels that way, rather than hiding it away within himself, or taking it out on Greg. He's able to stand up for himself and what he wants, he's able to offer support to her if she wants it, but when she declines he has the confidence to not worry about it after the fact. He is able to care for her still, but she's not his entire world, he's not relying on her for emotional support or financial gain, its almost like they are back to when they first met and fell in love. Meanwhile she is purposefully trying to make him jealous, and willingly comes to him for emotional support, rather than ignoring him, she's hostile towards him, but in the way a kid lashes out when they are frustrated and dont know how to tell their crush that they like them. All this points to a possible reconnection between the two, and a healthier relationship than it once was, and that would be fine, if Tom and Greg hadnt had the relationship that they've had up to this point. You dont get to set up this dynamic between two weirdos, stuck in a world of apathy, make it seem like they are the only two people in the show that get each other, and have each others backs, and reach for in need of comfort, and then turn them into the disgusting brothers, and pop a baby up in Shiv, kill her father and then fix the marriage, because lets be honest here, if she wasnt pregnant, and especially not pregnant at such a scary, stressful and sad time of her life, there would be no chance that this marriage could be seen as anything close to salvageable. So if that is how this story ends up going, its gotta be seen as bad writing, im sorry, especially the pregnancy aspect, its always such a cop out, like, "oops, she wanted a divorce but now shes trapped in a toxic relationship!" no, im tired of this kind of story. I think we have had enough in this show to actually call the relationship of Tom and Greg canon already, but one of the main reason i want it on screen is for representation. There are plenty of lgbtq romances with teens or young people, and with shows like The Last of Us and Severance, we get representation for older gay couples, and that's beautiful, and i love it, but its not enough, how many mainstream shows or movies have you seen where a middle aged man and younger man fall in love, and its not abusive, its healthy, and its actual love? and how many of those romances are between a man that is bisexual even? its not that common at all, so the idea of a canon romance between two characters that millions of people have grown to know and love, one being a closeted younger man, and the other, an older bisexual man, that just feels really special to me, and i'd be sad if it didn't happen. Of course my desires for Tom and Greg's relationship to become realized are not entirely selfless, i also love the characters and think they both can be happiest with each other at this point in their lives, and since we wont ever see these characters again, i'd like to know they are going to be okay by the time those credits roll for the last time.

I feel the exact same way when I see people use “girly pop” or “babygirl” or the 💅 emoji when what the really are insinuating is f*g. I see it wayyyy to often on other social media sites. Especially about Lando. Yes sometimes it’s meant lovingly, or endearingly, but more often then not it’s used in a mean way.

and even if its used lovingly it most likely carries an undertone of condescension. idk i had a very illuminating conversation two days ago w these two very straight guys id watched quali with, who said they didn't realise the limp wrist meme / the word 'zesty' / babygirl and girlypop were derogatory gay stereotypes, they thought it was 'how girls talk' or imitating women rather than imitating feminine gay men. and i find it soooo funny that when cultural artefacts that are meant to b subversive in the gay community spill over into straight culture, the cishets rly do just turn it back into good ol' gender stereotypes. thats why lando's whole astrology bit for HIM is a casually misogynistic imitation of astrology girls (complete with the pitched up voice), but to tiktok it ended up reading as 'fruity' or 'zesty' or whatever other stupid fucking euphemistic adjective they use to skirt imaginary censors that don't actually exist.

and its funny bc lando is actually so straight-man-ish from his obsession w the world's most boring rich boy sport to his bragging abt sexual exploits on stream to the bluntness / refusal to couch his words & soften the blow in interviews that in women generally doesn't survive past teenhood. but bc hes generally slender and baby-faced (even with that atrocious chandler-bing-in-alternate-reality-episodes goatee) ppl will still code him as feminine on social media / tiktok / fanart / fics especially. idk as someone who like among other things has drawn lando as a girl or in dresses i also personally have a bit of a complicated relationship with the idea of a feminine lando, but it definitely isnt helped by the thoughtlessness with which people in fandom spaces, and also on the internet in general, and also in real life treat these new incognito homophobia cultural trends

i think part of what is so captivating about edizzy/blackhands to me is bc i dont like them in the cliche shipping way of i hope they kiss and live happily ever after, but because they are just so fascinating to analyze with the freedom of different interpretations. not only that but they are a tragedy in a predetermined story. i as a viewer know that they will not be canon. they may not even end on positive terms. i as a viewer know how Blackbeard’s story ends- he dies. the story takes place in 1717, of course he dies. he might get killed by the British. Bonnet might hang. maybe not that exactly, but the broad strokes is that they die. their story was sealed hundreds of years ago. but the emotion they are feeling is there, the tragedy is there. in all its self-centered, self-destructive, self-made glory. no matter what happens i know how it will end; it’s just all a sort of wondering of how did they get here, and how solidly will they march down this path

what i really like so far abt 2 is that they put in a lot more little details. the sprites still have the paper doll thing where sometimes you need to approximate an action thats too complicated to animate but way more stuff DOES have custom animations like particio pulling out a bag or throné doing the little knife flip at the end of battles, and also it seems like the protagonists you havent picked up yet have different dialogue depending on the party leader who talks to them which is great. most importantly though i really like that they have dialogue that react to each other in combat though, like giving them all lines for when specific party members do a good job or are in danger is really sweet
