#thylacines can talk#faaf au#i love this au very yummy. a very fun twist on how Flower's dynamic with their parents would progress afterwards#the vessels live but the void exits their bodies in quite a violent manner (extreme pain and literally throwing up an entire person worth of#void). Flower was on guard duty and theyre found barely conscious in a pool of rapidly evaporating void. passes out seconds later#PK also had the displeasure of experiencing extene pain and burning as void forced its way out through his skin <3 And his moulds all melted#and evaporated. after the initial shock wears off theyre hit with “Oh No#the vessel“ and rush to find them. Well somebody else was already looking for the royal pair about this#Flower wakes up dazed and in pain in their father's workshop. their stomach hurts their throat burns and they feel lightheaded. the entire#place is considerably brighter than they remember and in they can hear two faint voices in the background but theyre too preoccupied with#examining their now pure white hand in shock to focus on anything else. until they hear their mother say “My wyrm they're awake” and#suddenly their parents are by their side. Now the two have no idea what void leaving their body might have done to them. Are they still#hollow? are they still dead? do they understand anything are they sentient? or was what was done pernament even without the void? do they#have the mind of a child if their sentience was restored? or do they remember anything? So WL stays by their side and helps them sit up#while their father goes to grab his tools. She's trying to keep them calm and comfort them but theyre still too disoriented to pay her much#attention. Until their father checks their breathing and they yelp audibly from the cool metal contacting their skin and suddenly they seem#much more alert. theyve never experienced true coldness before. PK quickly apologises and tries to be gentler with them. Theyre breathing#properly and they have a heartbeat. And he just pauses for a long while just. listening to their heart beating. Many emotions to be had#after the exam's over he asks them point blank how theyre feeling. And Flower looks up at him still seeming a little disoriented. and then#they lower their hand to their stomach and mutter 'My tummy hurts...a-and my throat burns'. It's to be expected after the way the void#left their body. so he goes to grab them some water and meds and they also ask for food and a mirror. And after he returns they just stare#at themself in the mirror and pull on their bangs for a while then blurt out 'I have your eyes' when PK asks if everything's okay. And he#and he almost chokes up as he replies 'Yeah...Yeah you do'. Flower eventually spins a lie that they remember everything but its all distant#and blurry. Like they were not aware until now. They figured it'd be better to not break their hearts#And now the three have to figure out how to be a family while PK is also scrambling to find a new solution to the infection#oops i meant to only give a brief rundown in the tags which is why it was in the tags. but i got too invested KDHDKFB

sometimes these days i think about who I was in 2017, compare them to who I am now. i've come so far, in so many ways, and I can't help but see that person as someone else entirely. They were so helpless, too proud to accept help or even that they needed help. They couldn't cook, couldn't keep a single thing clean - the guy I was dating back then once found a not-quite-empty half gallon of milk ready to explode behind my desk - and they couldn't make it to class, hardly ever. They went to OSU for two semesters, a different major each one because they couldn't decide what to do with themselves, and promptly failed out because they could not make it to class. There's similarities, I was still there under the skin; I've always been a fighter, never willing to give up, but back then I didn't even have a vision of what I wanted. I was just flailing around, determined to keep my head above water and convinced that was the whole end goal of my life.
It's like to that person, nothing better was even imagineable, which is probably why this year has been so surreal. Am I making any sales yet on my stock art? No, lol, I'm not even marketing enough for half my friends to know I'm in the ttrpg sphere professionally, as it turns out. But I'm doing it. I'm doing regular releases, actually keeping to a professional goal - I have a trade name, I'm networking, I've already had one paid project this year. I fought tooth and claw to finally get my degree, and now I have a salaried job. It's not perfect, but I finally fucking figured out what I'm fighting for, and it's not settling for being able to breathe. The last few years I've been so much happier than like... any other time in my life, even while dealing with some seriously crushing medical issues that STILL affect me today, and while I've been sort of confused but not questioning it this whole time, I think this is the root of it.
I'm not trying to go it alone, I'm not accepting anything less than happiness. I'm setting goals based on what will make me happy and satisfied with my life, instead of what I think I can convince life to give me. It's not easy, nothing worthwhile is, but I think I'd actually rather die than go back to who I was back then, wallowing in my circumstances and telling myself it was enough.
#this feels pretentious somehow but im literally just trying to get my thoughts down so whatever#i always feel a little dumb saying shit like 'i clawed my way to where i am' because i do have a pretty privileged background#but it turns out health does not give a shit about that and is an equal opportunity asshole#most people say it and mean theyre fighting society but i mean it like i fought myself and god and won#or at least am winning#very much still fighting the good fight#but i refuse to stand still#i refuse to just let things happen to me if i can do literally anything about it#we keep moving#one foot in front of the other#yelling at the void#also if you're wondering the use of they is very intentional#because honestly part of the divide is that back then i was iding as nb and avoiding thinking about gender any further#i didnt WANT to think about it. i blocked out the idea that i might be anything else for a long time#it was like two years ago now that a fucking. tiktok. shattered that shell#idk im just living more authentically as myself nowadays in like a million ways#and i am so so glad#i dont like... hate my old self or anything though#if anything i pity them#imagine if they had been able to pick themselves up off the ground sooner#what could they have done at OSU? what could they have done with their life?#well. they didn't. so they're me now#and I'm doing this now instead of whatever they'd have done#suddenly understanding the idea that life is a series of ego deaths

ALRIGHT CONTEXT FOR THE RP AND ALL THE OCS IM POSTING ALONG WITH THEIR RELATIONSHIP WEB BC ITS CONFUSING AF
Ok so, Obsidian (not drawn yet) (my original oc and what i based my persona off of before changing her entire design and saying 'nuh uh go in oc corner') is half skeleton half werewulf, it being taboo she was suppose to die but instead the assasination killed leader werewulf resulting in war to breakout, their civilizations are in medival timeset
Haily (the wensday looking oc with the most vibrant green eyes and a choker i totally dont want-) is sister to Obsidian and lived as a royal guard bc Obsidian is royalty (yes i mary sued obsidian dont ask i was 13 or smth when i made her) pretty much during the society collapse Haily escaped and decided 'screw it ima go insane', saw Obsidians daughter and just yoinked her said Obsidian is dead and now shes her mom turning her into bio weapon, created a lab and we had a few other ex rp players so im gonna mention a few things that arent mine. A third rper whos no longer in our group Olive has a child experimentation section in the rp/their own lore n oc, we mashed our lore making Haily the co owner of that lab or smth along that line
Aliza codename Silent is the neiece (i forgot its nephew and niece for boy n girl) (black haired kid with giant eyes) of Haily and turned into a human weapon void of all emotions good at acting, has way too much truama and abuse thrown into her
Alex codename Anti (the ninja lookin girl) is Aliza's babysitter after Haily found them half dead and revived them but they had brain injury and concussion not remembering much with Haily abused this fact, before concussion they were a child serial killer who killed their family and blew up their school, along with a few other things, grew up drug dealing before getting into an accident.
Kisha/Lola (Kisha reference art is coming in an hour or so and Lola ref art is to be made) was the product of a 4th rper throwing in demon slayer into the rp, so shes a demon who can turn chains into hair to pretty much just hide em, thats why in the drawing im doing she has two orange braids when her haircolor is actually lilac, teen girl turned demon after hating humanity and found a girl Lola being abused by others bc of her personality (pink, glitter, egirl ig? like discord kitten personality if it was a 9 year old), got her turned into a demon now theyre sisters and live alone, they come in and otu of the rp as just background characters
Blake (reference art to be made) pretty much Obsidians ex bf (yes aliza is a unmarried child) and then just decided to live quiet life after the cities/races did genocide on eachother until he rencountered obsidian now they have one sided love one sidied hate realtionship
Okami lore (the one i made the reference sheet for once for), pretty much me irl died and got thrown into the rp, no its not mary sue for this one bc shadow my partner in roleplay makes everything impossibley hard then again i keep trying to kill gods so-, they died from throwing themself into a woodchipper as suicide, their design is my personaxhow i look irl, their goal is kill god become op and just be chaotic, yes im serious
Akui lore (the adorible oc with blakc hair ourple skin n horns), imp slave bc imps r treated lesser, got soul bound to Okami and is just there for the ride trying to make sure she doesnt keel ovre dead with how often she gets blown up or killed only to revive because Shadow is somehow keeping her alive XD

u kno im in deep with an oc when i already have complete narrative writing itself in my head
im trying to avoid anything that may or may not happen during the penacony questline bc ill have to adjust it in the end anyway
but i got a better feel for aster's character (while making a hot pocket in the kitchen at 1 am):
dead!aster = dead friend who shapes my OC's identity
fake!aster = my actual OC, who is just referred to as aster to other characters
dead!aster probably had some sort tragic background where their entire planet just [insert bad thing where dead!aster is the sole survivor] and is living afterward in absolute despair before becoming nihilitypilled.
and moments afterward theyre just like 'no im not accepting this' and goes through the process of radical acceptance and is constantly trying to find some sort of good or beauty or wonder in the terms of 'oh [insert dead family member/friend here] would have liked these flowers i will appreciate them in my friend's honor'
so by the time dead!aster and fake!aster meet, dead!aster is pretty kind and gentle
while fake!aster, before all this. is a pretty jaded memokeeper. she is not a cremator at all but is like 'when someone dies their memories are kept alive by their loved ones. but there will be a time eventually that not even the living will remember this one person. we are preserving these memories but theyll just sit here.... forever'
they were probably on their way to becoming nihilitypilled herself but the two eventually does find companionship in each other. trying to find a way to bring meaning back into the inevitable process of being erased once the living no longer can remember you
but then ofc dead!aster dies and fake!aster is abt to fuckin spiral out of control right into IX's empty void before coming to the realization that she can keep dead!aster's memory alive forever if she just wears their face & identity and can carry out their goals on her own
the timeline of dead!aster finding meaning in living for others and on their own death fake!aster does the same thing for them, in her own fucked up way
so i think it would be neat, that fake!aster wearing the skin of dead!aster covers up the fact that theyre a memokeeper. theyve probably deflected from the garden of recollection by now. but its fucked up and kinda manipulative that she fronts as this unassuming character but she can literally store and preserve memories. theres nothing stopping her from just Knowing the memories of those she comes into contact and feigns indifference

For the sake of idk following lore or whatever lets say my gloomy shading is cause its cloudy or rainy or nighttime idk pick your poison with that .
Also uhm dont mind the fact that there’s two versions i really wanted to draw my phantombur design again since its been a while… And like might as well post both of them if i spent the time redrawing parts of it

yeah this. I'm ngl, i understand how people love to find the similarities and compare emory with damon, but i've always been on my michael x emory mastermind family and friends agenda, alright. I know many people dont like michael, but hear.me.out. I think because temperament wise, D & E matches and are pretty similar to each other on a surface level, readers tend to confuse them being the most similar with each other, but vision and role wise? Personality? Goals in life? Interests? The way they look at the systems around them? The way they handle their conflicts in life?
Damon and Emory could not be any more different than each other! And their differences in everything was clearer as we get to will's pov in nightfall, and we came to the conclusion that to a certain extend, one was an enabler, and one was an usurper. This shows their thoughts, words, beliefs and actions' patterns. What made them an enabler? An usurper? How does will come to that conclusion? Only two traits bring them back to be similar: dominance and aggression. But nothing else beyond that because the way they want and vision their life to be are very different from each other. Damon wnating his friends and banks, emory wanting the best for everyone and settle down his responsibilities towards education, caring duties and career first. (Their financial background does play in this factor, but hey, michael and kai were from rich families too, they werent acting all entitled towards their inheritance and life like damon. Much to think about). And Despite being angry and hopeless, emmy still put one foot in front of the other, visioning whats her future gonna be like. But damon want to be in hell, he doesnt give a fuck about anything else, even his company was started out of nowhere, he didnt even have the skills to know that people would want to pay for his labor's services, and when he fucks up too much, he didnt know how to reconcile with all that. Only promised that he'll make sure he deserves them later. D & E are so different, i was always confused when they relate one with the other. I believe, much to the disgrace of a lot of readers, damon was more similar with rika than he was with emory, or even banks.
Thats why it's also infuriating to me when readers said damon and will married the girl version of each other, because did we read the same books? What about will and winter, and damon and emory is the same to a T? This is Penelope Douglas we're talking about, they're not shy to write raunchy sapphic, polyamorous, dubious relationships. If they wanted a gay relationship between Damon and Will to happen, it wouldve happened, but the text always made it clear that theyre not into each other like that because of what they wanted the most in life, and also because damon only use sex to control people. Not until winte then he felt like he can just enjoy sex without pain. And now in this bonus, even Kai called him out for it. Not even will, his #1 bff had the power to change that. And will had years by his side, but this winter pops out of nowhere, and fix that for him in such a short amount of time (which emmy also knows that winter's the ony way to damon, interesting). I'm not even a fan of winter, but even i can't say that theres anyone else who would fit to be damon's lover or even anyone else in this series because they all have their very specific wants in their partners that they couldnt find anywhere else. Not even their best friends can fill in the rika, banks, winter snd emory-shaped holes in their lives. Ofc, fanon interpretations are allowed, so wtv. Damon and Emory has no similarites other than 1. Theyre in the same family for the same call of void, 2. They love will very much, 3. They had a very sad backstory that impacted their plots, and 4. Theyre grumpy on the exterior, dominant and aggressive. But even point 4 is debatable, because even though emory is dominant and aggressive, she is still pretty amicable to people as long as those people are or can be usefull to her or her higher motives.
Do recall her first interactions with Alex, Aydin, Micah, Rika in the present time. She saw what they can do for her, and she wasnt sorry at all to use them. I like that her character can be questionable sometimes, and i even like it when Alex called emmy a manipulative monster, because just like michael, i never saw something wrong with that. This is a dark romance with fucked up people who do want they want, who think they actions and words justify their ideas and beliefs, in an ugly way, why can't we see the potential of emmy being someone else's monster? And her not even denying alex? I was screaming!!! Because Isn't that cool? That she's not just this pure innocent nerdy girl from the town? Finally after 3.5 books, we actually see a dominant questionable FMC in this series. Let FMCs and women be morally grey!! She's a fictional dark romance character, let her be slimy AF just like the men in the series! Let her bully her lover! Let her use and support that serial killer and the son of a terrorist! Let her be friends with that same leader you hate (michael/aydin)! Emory Scott was not a morally righteous person, let her do her thing, and enjoy the ride. This is also why I like it when she was dealing with the police' questioning and reaffirming will about their family in fire night. It's for this reason. And noticed how michael didnt care what she did? Because he knew she did it for them! We need more questionable FMCs in literature, pleasee.
Now, coming back to damon and emory, i cannot deny, D & E both did make up to each other's strength, weaknesses and quality of what they want at work. That's why their partnership work very well. But that's where their pesonalities' similarities end (other than the ones i listed).
Onto my Michael x Emory family and friends masterminds agenda, M & E are like leader x architect mastermind. Theyre always in the position to either lead, or in an active stance, unlike kai, will, rika or winter. Damon and banks did fluctuate between passive and active depending on what others needs, but michael and emory's the pioneer. They're the front and center. Their opinions and decisions are usually what shape their current situations or the final say in a discussion. Their approach towards strategising is more hollistic, and it touches pretty much all aspects of their life. What i meant by that is their leadership, opinion and building of something doesnt just revolve around their work, but it also shapes the dynamic of the group, the role they or others play in their family, and they execute their role very well. Michael more so a leader than emory was. But i 100% believe than unlike damon, if emory actually wanted to take over michael's position, she could. She's an usurper, i dont think she'll just let michael have it easy if she didnt agree with something. And this is beyond like banks and michael bantering because they have some weird tension and families' companies. Emory actually do have input on what they do, and she is known to have a say in things, that other might not agree with.
another interesting thing about michael and emory's interaction with the people around them is, Being around people like M & E can make you feel like you're a fish in the water, not only you're breathing, but you feel at home, because when they disagree with you, it feels like youre being chided or corrected or shamed, but them being by yourside made you feel good about yourself. This part of M & E are not always explicit though, but you can see the implicit text by observing the reactions of how people react to their words and actions. Like how rika, kai, damon snd will reacted to michael's approval, help or disappointment, like how will, damon, aydin, alex, micah and rory reacted to emmy's actions and disagreements. Their words and actions have very impactful rippling effect on people unlike the rest. You can actually feel like you can achieve or be who you want to be, or where you want to Be with them. As if they knew where your wrong or right on your path to somewhere. I think rika, kai and will felt that with michael, and will, aydin and others felt that with emmy. We dont see much of others but we know that this is can be possible especially after ten years. Because their personality revolves not only being visionary, but them being accustomed to the system around them, made them able to have the ability to execute their plans to get what they want. Emmy doing all that in nightfall to support her grandma, to get a degree and a job, to have aydin's ally, to be friends with micah and rory, to borrow rika's items, to have someone by her side with alex, to offer herself to them sll in that train. "Nothing wrong if she just give in to what you want". Michael too with rika, with his nba career, to stay loyal with his friends, to open that resort, and many more. Can you see the vision, KO? (Pun intended)
M with the horsemen and later on with all the addition to their family, and E with the guys at blackchurch, and later with their big family, making decisions around them, finding what fits best for them etc. They both knew what was important to their values in life, and how to keep the family up, and it's not only within the group, but also to match the system outside of their family, like their potential allyship with khadirs and morreaus, enemies with ilya evans martin trevor, police system when they cause mischief around town, third and significant places of/in the town like the tower, church, cathedral, resort, etc. M & E knew the vision, what and how to preserve, and how to polish or do better so that they can move forward and profit more. This Doesnt mean that theyre better than the rest but this was where their strength lies best as compared to rika, banks, kai, damon, winter and will who took care about rules, state policies, morales (in private and in public) or tradition, They all take care of each others strength and weakness like this.
Unlike the majority of the fandom, i Never saw how D & E can be similar other than the ones listed above, but M & E? They've always been pretty similar, i believe. If not their background, it's the way they move. I still believe that Emmy is smarted than Michael but Michael is more intuitive than Emory. Hence why i think michael understand will's need for something more, above and beyond. Not like damon who he knew will didnt need alex. But michael would know WHY will needed emory. Someone that not only makes him see what's up there, but also someone who can take him up there to see what he's made of. Sounds similar to how michael made rika feel huh? The difference is that michaelrika just wanted to feel and discover something unknown, outside of their monotonous privileged life, but willemmy wants to use whatever unknown path in the light and dark to ACHIEVE something bigger, better, something above what they already knew about themselves. MichaelRika felt like an idea or a calling, but WillEmmy is like the tough final destination executioner, with KaiBanks as the strong steady pillar, and DamonWinter as the whimsical storytellers and dreamers of the group. WillEmmy would be the final destination executioner that wraps up all of their unknowns, where they gather the ideas, pillars and dreams from others and then set up a more structured, efficient and profitting path that benefits their families and everyone, knowing when and where to anticipate people like how they always deal with everyone. and i believe that was how they build their world when i finished the series then, I always get this feeling from these couple. This bonus just strongly reaffirmed my opinions about them building things together. WillEmmy "we build thunder bay together now, Em"! Exactly! Now they know what theyre made of!
side note: Made me also think about Rika and Emory's interaction throughout the series, and from that bonus from banks' pov, emory IS a steady, firm and strong support system for their family. Like a big sister. Like a pillar. That's why i also believed that nightfall should come before kill switch so that sensitive matters like rika's pregnancy can be handled better if she had a stronger, mature and steadier female presence and support system by a big sister like emmy, who's love is always flowing and very unyielding. I just knew that emmy would know how to breach this topic with rika and she would spoil them all always. That bonus really just showed that even in a short period of time, she was a very adoring and doting sister to everyone. Banks just didnt realised that emmy loved her the same way she did with rika because of her insecurities. Now this made me crave a rika, banks, winter and emory get together! What would they do on the weekends or for fun, huh?
Anyway, back to my M x E agenda, It's interesting too because at one point, i had the thought of switching michael's life with emmy's and i wonder, if emmy grew up like michael, how different or similar would she think, act, lead, follow etc. and how would michael react if he grew up like emmy. Sex and gender swap included. Because the very big differences for them would be their dinancial status and physical strength to overcome their abusers. Hmmm? How long would they take since by the end of nightfall, michael still havent killed evans, but martin's dead. And between michael and emory, emory was more likely to use physical violence than michael. Interesting, no? out of all the horsemen, michael and kai were the most class conscious. Like they knew how the system around them works, and only people who knows how system works can get far in life. damon and will had a late awakening, due to whatever things they were going through or enabling themselves with, but michael and kai were pretty clear-headed. Emory was clear-headed too. Making tough decisions was her forte. Again, the M x E crossover. But how would their class consciousness impact them if they swap realitues and sex/gender?
idk i havent think that far, but it's something that interests me now. What do you think of all these, KO? What do you think were similar or different about michael and emory? Or even other horsemen with her? I fully believe what alex said in emmys car at that cove scene was very important. In chapter three about what alex and the family needs. And emory knew it too, she just cant have it. Them.

Michael, as Kai said, is like The Builder. He sees how all the parts of something make the whole. How their strengths and weaknesses balance each other, who can hold what load, and where they need reinforcement.
Emory (an architect that can actually read blueprints, so it’s just funny in literal and figurative sense), does the same with people. She can destruct them, see how they fit together, and move forward based on that.
However, Damon, like Michael and Emory, is not without the ability, he just uses it differently. He sees life like a chessboard; people are just pieces to move. That takes understanding how people work, who has what power, where is their weakness, what holes are they leaving unprotected.
But going back to your point.
Reading this first point, I realized how true it is that Emory and Michael share a lot of the same traits. They’re both determined, realizing what they’re good at from an early age, set a goal, and took a path to achieve that goal. They were both able to make careers out of something they loved, despite all obstacles – family, financial, or otherwise. The only other person who shares this quality with them - knowing from a young age what they wanted to do and finding a way to do it - was Winter.
Additionally, the way that Michael allowed Evans to stay alive at the end of Nightfall to take care of his mother sort of echoes the way Emory let her grandmother stay with Martin. Both were on the condition that the person they’re letting off the hook is going to take care of the person they actually care about. At the same time, Emory acknowledges that a part of her loved her brother, at least the memory of him. And while Michael doesn’t want to take another person away from his mother, there might still be a part of him that wishes things could be different between him and Evans. At the very least, both Michael and Emory wanted their abuser to leave them be, without wanting to take revenge for the abuse.
Both were aware of class differences. I think Michael, aware of his privilege might have admired, or even envied, Emory because she had to fight for everything she got. Every accomplishment, every bright of recognition; none of it came because she was anyone’s child or she had an advantage. In fact, she had nothing but disadvantages and it didn’t stop her. Michael would have recognized that. In the bonus chapter, Trevor questions whether Michael would be as good at basketball if he didn’t have a court, and Michael wonders the same. In Nightfall, Emory wants the pool to herself because unlike them, she doesn’t have access to a private pool in her home. Micheal would have respected that, I think, even if Will hadn’t asked them to leave.
Michael doesn’t want to give up his privileges and good life; he wants to earn them for himself, apart from his father. Emory doesn’t want to stay poor, as if that would be revenge against the wealthy classmates she hates. She wants to earn it all herself and show them up. They have similar lines of thought about money and privilege.
They’re not always right; sometimes their biases get in the way. Still, they have much in common.
But after reading your message, something else occurred to me. We’ve been talking as if there can only be “X is most like Y”, “A is a reflection of B”, “C and D are literally the same, just different fonts.”
And none of that is true. Truth is Damon and Emory do share a lot of similar traits. They’re more reserved, they’re more calculating and suspicious of new people. They can endure a ton of pain by themselves, both physical and mental, possibly more than anyone else in the group could tolerate.
Emory is a lot like Michael, in that both of them can see people for what they are, they’re strengths and weakness, and make a plan to use them to the best of their ability. Like you said as an example, despite knowing that the group didn’t like Aydin and that he’d used her, she could see the value and benefit of keeping him close and including him. She didn’t let her personal opinion get in the way, and I think if it were Michael alone, she could probably sway him. But he as the think of the group as a whole.
Emory is also a lot like Kai in that she’s patient with people, and she realizes when she might have said something insensitive and backtracks (Emory with Elle in Nightfall vs. Kai with Damon in the Bonus Chapter). Emory also cares a lot about people, like Kai does, and they’re willing to do the dirty job of caring for those even when they don’t want to.
Emory is like Will in having a sense of curiosity and adventure, wanting to create something no one else has before.
And I’m guessing the same could be said for any of the other characters, and that’s why they’re a family? One thing I picked up from the Bonus Chapter was how often they guys commented ‘I need him for xyz reason’ Michael and Damon had their fathers in common and a dislike of extreme drugs and alcohol abusers (Will excluded, though Damon got on that fairly quickly when he came back). Damon and Will were wild, where Kai and Michael were cautious. Michael and Will were curiosity, and Kai and Will were easier to be around. Kai and Damon were opposites in almost always, but they both agreed that sometimes you need some healthy violence. All of these traits play into and off of each other, and as their family grows, the same can be said for each new addition.
I like the idea of comparing the characters, seeing where they are similar and where they are different, and what those differences mean of the situations they get into. So perhaps it is time to lean away from the “Damon and Emory are exactly the same” talk, and replace it with “what do the similarities mean? What do the differences mean?”
I was trying to think of where this discussion was coming from. We see Emory compared to Banks and Damon, and now Michael. We see Rika and Winter compared often. As you mentioned, so people compare Will with Winter.
At first, I thought that it was the "If this hated female character where a man, they'd basically be this male character who is universally loved." But that's not really the case here, is it?
D & E are so different, i was always confused when they relate one with the other. I believe, much to the disgrace of a lot of readers, damon was more similar with rika than he was with emory, or even banks.
And this goes to what I was saying above. Damon and Rika do share a lot in common. They like playing games of manipulation, treating situations as if they’re a game of chess. They value family (Rika forgiving Christiane because that’s her mother vs. Damon not seeing her as family because he’s got all the family he needs, and the fact that they fight over what makes someone family). They both wanted children. A lot.
While I get that what you’re saying is the comparison between Emory and Damon is weak when there are others that are more alike, I think the discussion of MBTI as shown me that these characters are all really different and that’s what makes the group work.
Thats why it's also infuriating to me when readers said damon and will married the girl version of each other, because did we read the same books? What about will and winter, and damon and emory is the same to a T?
I, fortunately, haven't been confronted with this comment (that I can remember), but I can imagine people saying it.
I think the case for comparing Emory and Damon is stronger than comparing Will to Winter. Though I can see why they do. Will and Winter are easy to deal with (in theory). They’re both generally warm and welcoming people. But those are basic traits, and I’m not sure if there’s are deeper aspects in their personalities to draw comparisons to.
Still, I don’t agree that any of the characters can be compared as if they’re a 1:1 version of each other. Therefore Damon and Will couldn't have married the female version of the other. That’s stupid.
If they wanted a gay relationship between Damon and Will to happen, it wouldve happened,
That’s what I think every time I see someone state with complete confidence that they were in love. As if a part of this story isn’t that there are different ways to love a person. That not all love is romantic. As if their brotherhood doesn’t and can’t exist because Damon and Will care about each other deeply.
“But the sex!” they cry.
Yeah…because neither of them ever had sex with someone they didn’t love? Or had no real emotions towards? Because Damon never used sex as a manipulation tactic, and Will as a way to ease his pain? I’ll accept that they’re not completely straight as an argument, but I highly doubt either of them would ever fall in love with a man.
Do recall her first interactions with Alex, Aydin, Micah, Rika in the present time. She saw what they can do for her, and she wasnt sorry at all to use them. I like that her character can be questionable sometimes, and i even like it when Alex called emmy a manipulative monster,
To have this as an example after saying that Damon and Emory don’t have anything in common is interesting, because I remember Damon using Alex to get information on Evans. He had no problem seeing what she can do, and using it to his advantage, even if it meant going behind the group's back. Alex even had a few words for him at that party, too, and Damon didn’t really care.
There’s the phrase “two sides of the same coin”?
These people are like six sides of the same dice. (Die? Is a single dice a die? You know what I mean.)
Because while I think Damon and Emory are the same in this situation, I can argue that Damon is more extreme than Emory.
Remember when Damon said that he didn’t think any of the boys would help him murder someone, but then when he was killing Natalya, Emory jumped in. She didn’t even really know the situation, but she recognized something in Damon that was in herself.
We know she never took the chance to kill Martin, because for her, it never got that far. She was never that desperate, though I have no doubt that if the situation were life and death, she’d be able to make that decision. Similarly, I don’t think Michael would have killed Trevor if the situation wasn’t life and death. Michael and Emory match up in that aspect, but that doesn’t mean Emory didn’t get there before him.
I think on the scale of No-Murder to Murder, she’s probably a lot closer to Damon than she is to Michael.
who think they actions and words justify their ideas and beliefs, in an ugly way, why can't we see the potential of emmy being someone else's monster? And her not even denying alex? I was screaming!!! Because Isn't that cool? That she's not just this pure innocent nerdy girl from the town?
 I mean, I think Emory always sort of owned that she was a bomb waiting to go off in Will’s life, and that’s why she tried to get away from him. She never denied that certain things were her fault. She always had a backbone and was willing to cross the line if she needed to. She accepted accountability easily.
But I thought Alex was calling Aydin a manipulative monster, not Emory, because he was able to “manipulate” Emory into thinking she doesn’t have to answer to them, even though she owning up to her role in Will's life. She was essentially calling Emory weak for being Aydin's victim.
However, Emory came to that conclusion because she was ready to, not simply because Aydin opened her eyes. As Emory said, her view of Aydin was more complicated than Alex was willing to comprehend. Even so, Emory refused to apologize for it, which I guess made her a monster in Alex’s eyes, too.
Their [M&E] opinions and decisions are usually what shape their current situations or the final say in a discussion.
And it’s in this way that Will and Rika are similar. Both had to wait for the person they desired most to be ready to accept the inevitability of their love. They spent years watching, waiting, following, as their person was just outside of their reach. And when they finally thought that they’d grabbed hold of them, after just one night, Michael and Emory slipped away again.
Just an interesting comparison I thought about as I was reading.
But i 100% believe than unlike damon, if emory actually wanted to take over michael's position, she could. She's an usurper, i dont think she'll just let michael have it easy if she didnt agree with something.
I don’t think Emory would let Michael have it easy either, but is she persuasive enough to sway the group as a whole? I’m not so sure. Micah and Rory were different because their bond to Will was different, as well as their view of him. For over a year, he’s been a friend and ally, but all of the sudden he and his six friends – who they have no loyalty to – are ganging up on this girl they’ve come to care about? It’s no wonder she was able to get them to change sides. Not sure Emory would have as much success with Kai or Rika.
But she might have success with Damon, though. Because they have similar thought processes.
My point is that it all plays into each other, and it’s why I would have liked to see more of the dynamic between Emory and some of the others, especially Michael, but they hardly share more than a sentence in the entire series.
this is beyond like banks and michael bantering because they have some weird tension and families' companies. Emory actually do have input on what they do, and she is known to have a say in things, that other might not agree with.
But a part of Banks' character is never coming to the table without a plan, even if she knows Michael isn’t going to agree with it. She still tries; she puts it out there, states her case, and will argue to get Michael to see things her way. And sometimes she wins, like we see in Conclave when Michael eventually agreed to her idea.
There’s a reason people compare Emory and Banks, too. They think and strategize, and they don’t let people they see as equals boss them around.
They both knew what was important to their values in life, and how to keep the family up,
I do see your vision (haha!). But I think Emory probably isn’t as skilled in this as Michael is, if only because he’s had more time to develop and live with the responsibility of making this team, this family, work. You said that Emory was smarter, while Michael more intuitive. Emory is book smart, but then her goals in life relied on her getting out of town and into a school, while Michael relied on his intuition to survive his father and find his real family. Both are logical and goal orientated.
I can see Michael teaching Emory how to develop her skills. Maybe not directly, but identifying that she has these same skills and helping her cultivate them by testing her, giving her the opportunity to make plans and see them through. He did that with Rika. And being a mayor, Rika is something of a leader now. Banks learned from Damon, and A.P. how to execute her role as a Senator. But no one is there to teach Emory how to use her skills to the best of her ability, and as a leader of the family and the other person who can see the blueprint – the builder, the visionary, the mastermind, as you said – Michael could help her in that way.

Agreed. This doesn’t mean that they're better, just that their skills serve a different role. If they were all leaders, it wouldn’t work.
The difference is that michaelrika just wanted to feel and discover something unknown, outside of their monotonous privileged life, but willemmy wants to use whatever unknown path in the light and dark to ACHIEVE something bigger, better, something above what they already knew about themselves.
This is interesting, because I see your point. To me, it feels that Michael and Rika are very inward focused; they are concerned with themselves and what their family is doing, but not overly focused on things outside the group (this isn’t to say they’re unsympathetic or unwilling to help when they see a problem in Thunder Bay or the world), but that their concern will first and foremost always be them and the family. Whereas, Will and Emory are very focused on Thunder Bay as if the entirety of It (the town, with its traditions and mysteries and lore) is their family, and they want to build it up and take care of it. They’re more focused on the external.
I’m not sure if that’s what you were getting at but it’s how I heard it. Again, neither better or worse. Just different.
And between michael and emory, emory was more likely to use physical violence than michael. Interesting, no?

if emmy grew up like michael, how different or similar would she think, act, lead, follow etc. and how would michael react if he grew up like emmy. Sex and gender swap included.
This really gets into the idea of nature vs. nurture, which is not something I’m competent enough to discuss thoroughly, but it’s an interesting question all the same. If we had Emerson Crist and a Michelle Scott instead?
I fully believe what alex said in emmys car at that cove scene was very important.
 I believe it too. It was a fundamental theme in the story, but I think I would have liked it coming better from Michael, seeing that Emory was the missing piece that kept their family from reaching its full potential. Since he was the builder, after all. Instead, we got him being all defensive and acting like he didn’t know they needed her. Sure the family could continue without her, but he had to see the benefit if he was the visionary of the group.

Weds since you're in Pokémon mode rn I wanna see your Legends Arceus opinions if you have any, it's personally the most fun I've ever had with a pokemon game so far I love being a pokemon biologist
omg i have not played it yet! i hope they carry any fun like full sim stuff over to the new region, and okay i really like the mythos lore and stuff of d/p, if it Had been the actual last pkmn that would have been alright i feel like that or b/w like how people thought back then and sometimes it does feel like that had been the intent but x/y is so charming despite a lot of things and sun and moon is like top slot number one pkmn game, but d/p its so like deep futuristic and strange, and im glad that carried over to legends, im also a big fan of like time travel theories right along with like war stuff so like, also legends and stuff like it often are my fave things about pkmn like nonmain series stuff ends up being so cool, like i miss stuff like sevvi islands or like the just overload of strange stuff in emerald or like the shadow series
but i think its rather problematic to take pokemon from other regions and connect them to like to this and like others who are affected by this in a day to day way have said its really freaking weird to make a game be like teehee my pocket monsters [colonizing of an inhabited land in the background] like, pokemon games have avoided this in the past by making stuff seem like scifi futuristic alt space so this past thing in the way theyre doing it is really like,i think in poor tastes
cause like past games were designed like with draw Hard Line this pokemon is from this region, even if they appear from another region its as import, invasive, or like an expanded territory, where further away regions were given no like interconnectivity like why would rowlet be there, implying thats like the Truer form like its really,,hm, tasteless, given like japan's history with hawaii,, and like rude, a lot of design work recently has felt that that to me like, mean spirited
like here's all this work and effort previous teams put in to make this world feel a certain way, like rules the setting has, designs meant to exist in a certain space and feel a certain way, well now we're going to use it this way, do as little work on it as possible, to make fat stacks of cash, overall i find design work is uggo to me, i know its a by product of how the staff is like separated from each other (like you can design a creature and have no say in its name or what it does in the game or even its final color palette,,,,insane) and how much crunch it is but it has a really strong vibe of like being made to cater to like a casual western player in a way that feels hard to arctiulate like when you're in a shop and there's stuff for tourists willing to spend 30 dollars or so on something that Looks like its from there
but from the fan art im filter feeding off the dash the writing looks like it takes it so some pretty cool places! not fully related, but i dont think id mind it if they did these like mini games to support legendary lore! like i do mind that theyre 60 dollars each, but if each legendary came with a free or like 10 dollarish or 30 dollarish (being realistic =_=) dlc event thing that would be really cool! one of my All time fave things about d/p is like invsa wall hacking it and walking off into the void to see the legendaries chilling, and its all extremely cluttered in the main game but imagine like a two hour or so fully written add on getting to explore them, they just try to do soo much in the main games it ends up thinning them out too much, id rather like smaller story with a more robust simulator with story added overtime

i know yall agree, but allow me to tell you exactly how he became the best host.
so this is obviously post-war
you and george have been living together
and you wanna do something real nice for george cuz you see that he's suffering
not in the most obvious ways
its how he makes a joke, starts laughing but midway through the laugh he trails off and stares out the void for a second
and its how he clutches the letters from his easy friends a tiny bit harder
and how his eyes screams 'i miss you' when he's reading them letters
you being you, go around his back and try to surprise him with a party
you start writing letters to a few of george's war friends inviting them over
and easy boys being easy bois write back to you, all oh-so-excited to be there
but luz, the sneaky lil bastard, senses somethings up
he tortures tickles you into confessing
you're actually kinda scared he might not like it, and you'd totally understand if he wasnt comfortable with it yet
and you feel a gut wrenching pull on your heart when george goes silent once you tell him your lil plan
and george breaks out in the largest grin- i mean THE LARGEST (bigger than when he was giving toye dat beer)
and pulls you into a bone crushing george luz™ hug
he instantly begins thrusting himself onto planning the party
he obviously wants it to be perfect - his instinct is to go all out with a 4-tier cake and live music with clowns as entertainment
he eventually decides to take it down a few fucken notches and settles on cozy, private, yet filled with happiness
its two days till the "party"

george, with his oh-so-warm eyes, looks at you with his hands on the either side of your face
"don't you worry about a thing"
and of course, you believe george. he IS a man child, but you trust him with your life, so you could trust him to manage to feed a couple of his friends, right?
so the big day rolls around, george just came back from work with a fuck ton of bags in his hands
while youre getting all dolled up george is busy in the kitchen
you step into the dining room and voila there he is, with delicious looking plates of.. are those lobsters?
you're about to ask him what the fuck is going on, but a knock on the door makes you whip your head around
george goes to get the door while you do some last-minute fluffing of living room cushions
suddenly, there are a swarm of very loud men all barging through you and george's house
to say that you were overwhelmed whould be a grave understatement
you couldn't keep up with all the jokes and jabs and hugs and barking laughters of the men
so you decide to step into the dining room and get everything ready
george has somehow managed to herd all his boys into the yummy smelling dining room and they all sit down
yall start eating, and george introduces yall and you finally get to meet the men that shares a special bond with your georgie
they're very kind, yet in their eyes you can see what you can also see in george's eyes
the bois bombard you with questions, some not so polite as the others iykwim😉
and you being you, squirm a tad bit uneasily
its all in good sprit- they are brothers after all- but youre a lil shy
george of course notices your discomfort, and does a terrible sobel impression soon the table is roaring with laughter, and you feel george's hand squeeze yours
he give ya a cheeky wink (swoon)
the lobsters are scrumptious
you bring out the pie (store bought) and ice creamfor desert
george makes sure to save the perfectest slice for you
yall share the pie and some liquor that you swear wasn't there when yall began dinner
the bois are so full both of food and love and theyre talking and catching up and hugging and oh my god im so soft
sadly its time for them to leave
you and george at the doorsteps hugging everyone goodbye and promising each other to write
when the last of them's gone george turns to you, puts his arm around your waist, kissing the side of your head
you both silently clean up, brush your teeth, and climb into bed, all the while the radio is playing soft tunes in the background
truth be told you were exhausted
george is staring at you with is big brown eyes
and you hear everything he's telling you with his eyes
the thank yous, i love yous, how did i get so luckys
you share a tender kiss and you cuddle up to him
just before drifting off to a long and deep slumber, you whisper
"how did you get fucken lobsters"
george mumbles something like seagulls, grenade, candles, but you're asleep before you can ask him again
you somehow know that you won't ever know how he got those goddamn lobsters, but you're totally okay with that.
after all, george was happy, and so were you
oh and a month later, you were at a certain louisianian's home for some of the best cajun food you'd ever had😌

Hi! Just found out about this blog. It really is a rarepair heaven. I'm happy that I finally found a place where I can talk about pairings and ideas about them. So, as for pairings. Anybody ever considered Nightmare/Ink/Dream or Geno/Ink?

we call em vantadrink and vanitas and theyre both fucking adorable
for vantadrink, i feel like ink has to (somehow) be a bit of a mediator between dream and nightmare because those two can get a little... intense. in gay ways
but i also feel like nightmare and ink could just get along. they probably prank dream often enough to the point where dream just has to put his foot down and ask ink to help him plot revenge fire back at nightmare
they’d be utter disasters and the only thing keeping them from destroying the multiverse is the fact that “they love each other they really do”. if nightmare has to perish in a prank war he initiated, well, sacrifices must be made
as for geno and ink
i almost feel like geno would be extremely annoyed at ink’s entire attitude at first but as time goes on it starts growing rather... endearing?? as endearing as *ink* can be, smh
geno absolutely has a moment of realization where he’s just like “dear fuck, im in love with an idiot” and ink is just sitting there in geno’s void being his stupid self as usual
and then ink breaks him out of the void and they travel the multiverse committing gay crimes together

oops. time travel quirk mishap. toko gets sent back in time and meets edgar allan poe! whaaat? being the smart birb he is, he does his best not to do anything to alter history. sticks to the shadows, stays hooded, etc. though he does have a run-in with the author. good news was the guy was so drunk hed never remember it happened.
it takes a while for the quirk to wear off and send him back home but by that time toko is relieved. things were crazy back then and he ends up with a better appreciation of the present, flawed though it may be. upon rereading a favorite of poe’s stories he realizes that history is forever changed…

I see that your Chara led the other humans to their doom. What made Frisk so different from them?

this got long while i was writing it so TL;DR:
Chara starts getting mixed feelings about leading the fallen to death. When they find out Player is also possessing frisk, they’re determined to have a greater influence then them.
Frisk is separate from the other fallen. The others, even Patience, acted out and got aggressive when put under stress. Frisk never does. Chara just sort of admires that, I suppose, and after the undyne fight is when chara sort of realizes that theyre in it for the long hall. Chara gets easily attached.
So y'all know how human souls persist after death ? Charas soul did that, and then Asriel absorbed it and then he died, and it was all a big fuckin mess right?
Even after the death of Asriel, charas soul was still stickin around , but they didn't have any place to funnel that persistence or determination .
Basically u know how we meet Chara after NM on a completely black background ? That's Void . That's how Chara persists after death; their soul wound up in a place where it could exist without a physical body .
Okay now that that's out of the way:
Time works differently in Void, so Chara spends a lot of time self deprecating and feeling angry. They failed; they don't know if Asriel lived or died, their suicide somehow managed to keep them around, and they couldn't free the monsters.
They blame themselves and humans. So when they become attached by the soul to another human, they A) automatically assume that they're going to kill their friends and family and B) they can still follow through with the initial plan: get seven souls, free monster kind, and maybe obliterate the human race. Problem is when their soul attaches to that of a living child, it's a bond that can't be broken; they're stuck with that child until they die or Chara does .
Patience is a good kid. Chara hates them for it. Their connection with patience is small, but enough for them to see what's happening and make decisions and assumptions. Patience can't necessarily tell that Chara is there, even when they're affecting their choices and leading them to Asgore to die.
And they do. Patience stays in place, Asgore comes and defeats them.
Funny thing though, humans; a lot of times they seem to know what's going to happen before it does.
The fallen can reset. Patience is, well, patient; they wait it out in hopes that one time, Asgore will realize that they aren't going to fight and will have mercy.
He doesn't. They die over and over. Chara is practically ripping their hair out. In a fit of frustration, they push Patience from their body and force them back into their soul, taking the vessel and leading it to death. This widens the connection between Patience's soul and charas, and so when patience, unable to control their own body, dies and is unable to reset, their soul is extracted from the body. Part of Chara's goes with it.
It fucking hurts, by the way, losing a chunk of your soul. They bear it, though, because they failed and deserve the pain if it will help their cause. Now we play the waiting game.
Second soul. Bravery. Bravery's quick-witted and aggressive, and Chara definitely takes to that; they still sort of sit back, but when Chara starts influencing the choices they make, they notice.
They seem to think Chara is a gaurdian angel, which sort of hits a nerve for a couple of reasons; still, they lead the soul to Asgore, use the same method to force Bravery into their own soul and prevent resets. Bravery does not appreciate it. They shriek and claw their way back into their body and generally make a real big effort. It freaks Chara the fuck out.
With each kid, Chara sort of realizes that they're just, well, kids, and that they were every kid who's fallen this far at some point-- they were the anxious kid playing the waiting game, the fiery one, the helpful, out of the way one-- and it sort of wrecks them. Every time a kid dies, a piece of charas soul goes too, and they get more and more confused.
They count the fallen as they come, and when they get to six, something twists at their stomach; just one more, and they can all be free, right? All the people they've ever loved can escape this stupid fucking hole in the ground .
But. . . That means another kid, another kid who acts, who feels the same way that they did, would have to die.So who do you kill in this situation? Your family or yourself?
This should be an easy decision for Chara, especially because, well, they are suicidal. But it's likely that once the vessel, once the last human dies, so do they. Their soul is gone. And that means that they don't get to see all of the things that they've been working towards. They get sort of apathetic about it; there's really no winning.
So. Anyway. Frisk falls and they're thrust into the situation without any warning, which is how it always is; they keep their connection small, just sort of monitoring their actions. For the most part, Frisk is fine, if acting a little odd. Chara doesn’t blame them.They try to take over at about the bakesale. just to see if they can. just in case the human messes up later on and Chara has to fix things up. But as soon as they try to access the vessel- its like someone pushed them, and they go flying back into Void. which is fucking weird, cause usually none of the humans are observant enough to notice them. They feel out for frisks soul and when they hit it, theres another person there too. Chara gets super anxious about this. there's not supposed to be two nameless, game-changing influences for one kid- especially not when one could be scheming against them.
Plus, frisk is just generally personable. They communicate all the time, they're joyous and charming and more determined than chara could ever be. Chara gets,,,, emotionally attached. also: Frisk knows that chara is there and they know the player is there. Chara they think of more like an equal, the player more like an authority figure. Chara is an ally to them, and Chara really appreciates that.

btw got this ask on my classpecting blog (which is basically super dead because i rarely ever have the time/energy to get around to posting on it) but since its cb related and were on a spree here, i wanted to put some info here because well... you know me :3c

yes i made the base of the characters personalities with their classpects in mind. obviously they still developed past that point (quite a few of the characters ended up completely different from how they were when i originally wrote them (rivian, crylus, vergas) because of the original writing being more based around classpects)
also ill write some real quick classpect descriptions for all of them under the cut since i dont want this post to get too long. i dont really want to say exactly why the puzzle pieces fit together because i think its fun to hear about other peoples opinions and also show w/o telling but i also really love classpecting and just some baselines doesnt really count as spoilers i dont think
rivian: witch of void, typically witches are quite a bit more fun and optimistic and generally just all around more Expressive than rivian is but like... youll understand when we get to it. witches are also just Incredibly Stubborn and i think thats quite a rivian thing.
witches have their aspects permeate throughout their life, and manipulate their aspects actively; they bend their aspects to their will, either by going totally against the notions and boundaries of their aspect or by simply modifying it to suit their needs. they thrive in environments where theyre able to go along with their own organized chaos and sense of structure. 
void is about secrets, irrelevance, the enigmatic the mysterious et cetera. i think void is also about hidden interpersonal knowledge. its working on the sidelines and in the background. void players always seem to do the hard work, but are in someone/something elses shadow.
lyreni: sylph of time, honestly lyreni is still basically The Definition Of A Sylph. shes caring, very aware of her surroundings, acts according to what she deems is important, shes patient shes exacting... but she can be a bit meddle-y and pedantic and pushy due to her own anxieties.
sylphs analyze and heal their aspect. they find where people and where their session is lacking in it and essentially poke and prod and go about whichever way they possibly can to fix the lack of their aspect. theyre very opinionated about their aspect and what it means to them and what it should mean to others, and therefore sylphs need to learn to wield these ideas and use them to help others.
time is about time itself and the flow of it, death, progression, etc. not only that, but its about order and structure, singleminded focus, all of which selfimposed. time is more like a chain of events that needs to be kept in order than it is about inevitable events that are out of your control.
kapreo: rogue of rage, i usually say rogues follow two different archetypes (1. they either start with an abundance of their aspect and need to find a comfortable balance, or 2. they start with a percieved lack of their aspect and need to accept it into their life. either way, once both of them grow into those second stages they then redistribute their aspect to others). kapreo is a v2 rogue. rogues also as a whole are very friendly and generous, passionate, determined. though on the other hand, rogues can sometimes have the tendency to isolate themselves from others when they face stress and other struggles.
although both types of rogues have different types of deeprooted insecurity when it comes to their aspect, v2 rogues in particular lack in confidence comes from the fact that they could never handle their own aspect. therefore, they might have difficulties ever allowing themselves indulge in their aspect even when worse comes to worse. as stated above v2 rogues need to learn to accept that their aspect CAN be a part of who they are, and that they CAN handle it.
rage is about skepticality, defiance, boundaries, intense feelings, adrenaline, its putting your foot down and not taking anymore bullshit. its about putting yourself first. rage is also just a very like... sensory aspect. its the burning feeling in your chest that you get when youre in those states of passionate, unrestricted emotion.
sebran: knight of space, You Know Why Lets Be Real Do I Even Have To Say It. knights are boundlessly loyal, committed, reliable and nuturing people, however obviously they have a tendency towards the Emotional Constipation and are constantly concerned with their own sense of usefulness and competence.
knights essentially have to unlearn their obsessive facades and sort of... perfectionism when it comes to the way they come off and the way they interact with their aspect so that they can exploit and wield their aspect. basically knights have to put the metaphorical shield down and take out their sword instead. their facades usually tend to reflect their opposite aspect due to their insecurity with their actual aspect. 
space is about creation, lack of bounds, infinite possibilities, the universe, isolation, loneliness. making something out of nothing. everything is at the universes whims, its unable to be contained. theres kind of a lack of any sort of structure or stability when it comes to space.
crylus: prince of doom, now hold your fucking horses before you say anything okay i know a lot of the times princes make everyone go “Oh god oh fuck” but i can promise you that crylus is a GOOD prince. princes can be incredibly capable and confident, goal oriented, helpful players. on the other hand though YES they can be a bit impulsive, arrogant. princes also tend to be a bit hypercritical as they hold people to high standards but they hold themselves to even higher ones (see dirk) a lot of the time.
princes ghost their opposite aspect and either just straight up destroy or destroy WITH their ACTUAL aspect, as they have strong internal brewing anger and hatred for their aspect and what it stands for. for the most part, princes need to learn how to channel this energy towards only flushing out the genuinely NEGATIVE parts of their aspect, as destruction sometimes isnt inherently a bad thing. in fact, sometimes tearing things down to make new ones is necessary and part of the process. but princes are REALLY high risk/high reward.
doom is about order thats outside of your control. its pre-established rules, guidelines, fate and futility and inevitability. similar to the death card in tarot though, even if doom is about the unavoidable end of a cycle, its also about the beginning of a new one.
vergas: bard of blood, i think its pretty easy to understand Why. originally he was going to be a bard of light which youll still see some remnants of that when his land comes up. bards are faithful in their beliefs and can be very committed to those ideas... but due to that faith they can be at their best just kind of annoying and stubborn to at their worst, antagonistic, unaccomodating, and dogmatic. 
its kind of hard to explain, but bards ghost their opposite while destroying THROUGH their aspect. i usually say that to mean that bards use their own aspect as a sort of vessel of destruction. theyre also incredibly unpredictable players, as if their convictions ever waver theyre likely to go totally off the shits. i usually call that their Bardly Revelation aka when a bards world views and ideas about their aspect are finally challenged. a bards challenge then is to figure out how to take these challenges in stride and become open to new perspectives rather than letting it consume them whole. (hint: a lot of bards have a very hard time doing this. you can kind of figure what im getting at here).
blood is about bonds, strength, unity, responsibility, society, norms. i relate blood also to expectations, and relationships but more like… in the sense of working together as a team. commitment.
hopefully thats vague but informative enough for you to get why i picked their classpects out. as always im really excited to get deeper into the story and actually really Show like Why they fit rather than just give some overly wordy explanations

some Unfortunate vague vambling into the void wrt tpf
The book is a grail quest, about ppl - either knowingly or unknowingly - on grail quests, and (with/presuming the small amount that can Ever be discerned about SL) written during/around a time when a grail quest was essentially occurring/could-would be a comfort narrative. Its a surprise (to me at least) that its, as Hopeful(?) as it is*. growth occurs! people move on & move past traumas/big Events(tm)! 
I had wanted to compare it to ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ for some reason**, but its honestly not especially similar. If one was to take ILD as a starting point, as people/LD trapped in a cycle by the v nature of Who They Are, TPF kinda jumps from that point, or some a point of hitting a level of Rock Bottom and Acting/. For some of the characters its been a more gradual shift into decisive action, (Tracy, ARY Lewis), while w others its a hitting breaking-point/epiphanous kinda thing (Bob, Sid & Danny) - action is Spurred, etc. 
A reading could be taken then, as Action as Redemptive Force, mayhaps***. in certain cases. maybe. Sid & Danny, would probs be the easiest players to be reading this theme from, “fucking up”**** & then immediately deciding ‘yk what! lets find this fckd up old musician dude u/i really loved, and ask him to restart his 60s-70s band but w us in it this time’. SO! then they go from essentially wasting away, getting high & rehashing old routines & watching/critiquing awful (beastiality) pornos, to going on their drug-smuggling funded ‘grail quest’, to meeting & reteaching the dude guitar, to Genuinely /Finding/ the grail - before (thru an act of giving up on Expectations / releasing Bitterness) - giving it up. the previous wallowing / lacking of Authenticity is Absolved though all tht, as is a long standing weirdness between them regarding giving up on what could've been their Original /Actually Lucrative/ band*****. ARY Lewis thru action comes to terms / peace w himself even tho he Doesn't find his grail, Tracy finds a kinda “peace” thru a ‘mortifying ordeal of being known’ thing, etc etc. The man (SG Lee) loves his Things Bigger Than The Self stuff i guess.
As a theme this can maybe Also be seen in reverse/inversion, w Abby (p fckn minor character), not rly being Unredeemed or anything, mostly bc she starts off as one of the ppl Least in the gutter. but from the like, glances/vignettes of her once she leaves the main story ( “[god] has a hack screenwriter’s sense of drama” ), shes now set a drift in a way tht she kinda wasn't before, and as it goes on loses diff aspects of control/certainties in her own life. i don't think shes mabs treated as sympathetically as she maybe ought to be? could the loss of these things be read into as a weird punishment for /NOT/ going on or supporting ppl going on grail quests******** ? idk ! or idk, the ending w PR running off bc he's finally found that cigerette end, and her then missing the Avril Lavigne’s hit early 00s song ‘sk8r boy’ reminiscent bit w S&D ringing her up to send her audio of the 1st of the New round tabyls’ gigs, might be read as her still being Stuck/. everyone else has (to one degree or another) improved their position since the start of the book, except her, as the only thing she now no longer has is a deadweight boyfriend and his kinda grody bffl, otherwise everything is The Same.  
Not surprised tht he (i think?) doesn't think its necessarily aged well? or. that it is no longer Quite as Relevant bc of the internet & stuff - idrk if thats Properly True******* - both bc that kinda thing can Just About still happen, but also bc if there wasn't a p minor mention of 1997 being in the past, you'd probs assume it was set earlier. ditto some of the concerns wrt oh, You Know, fckn, Exoticism/native american/shaman stuff - which i don't think is bad/ignorant/racist! but its always difficult to tell, and everything (but which i legit mean Everything/ in Gen, in The World) could use more Nuance.  
I had smth else i wanted to say, but I've forgotten what it is tbqh - & ofc, this has mostly been an exercise in Thought ReHashment(tm). It might've been that the ending seems Terribly/ Tidy. like, i don't think there could BE another ending? but its very Neat: the Bad are punished, some leads are paired off in a (presumably) cishet coupling, bad feelings are trowelled up & buried, the bois remake a hot, niche & authentic band, Luther Peyote can play the guitar again: Picture Perfect. Its an ending that fits, its an ending tht (i think? idk Anything abt this kinda thing) puts emphasis on the quest-y stuff, and the poss redemption angle; but it feels like a far remove from the kinda squalor of the first while - which is probs another point in its favour, rip.*********

*not to say/imply (ofc! ofc!!) tht this might be seen as somewhat ooc of stewart lee, but it still kinda caught me off-guard. poss bc its a Very Tidy wrap-up, and it happens quite fast, i felt. but tht might just be the time that in it.

***** the orig uhm, idfk, them lemon boys, could probs be read into - if one Wanted to read too much into these things mabs - as some kinda weird parallel to the original On The Hour stuff(?) w AL vs L&H, & how they Didn't get royalties/whatever was up there. you'd never be able to be either Accurate or Sure about that though, even w certain traits of S&D being p clearly lifted from L&H, or old SL routines - theyre not Explicit or Perfect cyphers/inserts yk?******

(if i may) some of the. not /Tension/,, but smth similar, w S&D often feels. not truly emotionally resolved? or just like, Unclear/ at times. the whole novel speeds up a fair bit once more than 2 (two) characters have to be properly juggled in a scene. [which is to say tht in some real Old L&H interviews, (usually in the ones where L isn't present, lmao) RH says tht SL gets ‘embarrassed’ by having to directly explore how ppl might feel about each other/relationships yk? can't say thats necessarily true! but it Is smth i couldn't help thinking about. but emotional exploration & openness is also the realm of fanfic, so maybe I'm asking too much, fgdksh]
