#rejuv spoilers#one of my favorite tropes is when the selfless sacrifice gets deconstructed#so the person sacrifices themself but theyre TERRIFIED. and they change their mind. they beg for life they beg for mercy#they do not want to die and that crumbles in their last moments. they dont want to leave their loved ones#but its too late.#its heartbreaking for both characters in different ways too#nancy is a very soft spoken sweet individual and seeing her break down like that and act desperate is jarring#especially since she did sacrifice herself before. but without the threat of death…#and that changes everything…. and then alain is the tough one. they pick fights they lash out and they act aloof and angry#and then she not only dies so crescent and mc can escape but gets scared and starts begging for mercy#like…. it feels so human. cause we all would jump to say that yes we’re ‘’selfless’’ enough to sacrifice ourselves for our family and friend#friends#but actually looking at death in the face knowing its coming? that shakes you to your core#echoed voice

Just finished 2 skeins of sleeve yarn and once again marveling at how little yardage im fitting on a bobbin with this stuff--each skein was 60 yards (55 meters). And each skein was a totally full bobbin of plied yarn (and my singles each took up a bobbin). Part of it is that its very airy (and bulky weight, obviously), and the other part is that my take up is not very high so its not compacting down as it goes on, but even so, it feels like a lot of yarn when i was holding it ! And the spinning and plying was only maybe 2 hours ! Bulky yarn is crazy
#so nice though#the carding takes a day or two so im never spinning back to back days which is actually kind of nice#and then i can get the spinning and plying done in one day as long as i keep the tension low (less stress on my joints that way)#and break it into a few sessions#ideally id also be using up the yarn as fast as i was making it but im spending most of my knitting time on that scarf#i moved the sweater panel to straights because i thought i would hurt my hands less#which it isnt but i feel like the reason for that is more to do with how unbalanced it feels and how i can never get the stitches#to sit at the balance point on the needles so theyre not trying to fall out of my hands#which i think is user error really#also thought i was getting lever knitting straights (i.e. the very very long ones) but i dont think i did in retrospect#theyre too short to press the left one into my hip while sitting unless i slouch a ton which i dont remember it being the last time#i tried lever knitting. so maybe i might have better luck if i actually got a pair of those#anyway its going fast when i can knit. and its Very soft and so satisfying to knit#excited to get to the front panel so i can do a design#not sure what though#ooh a beet would be really cool#dont know if i could render it in brown though... id like if it could be all hand dyed and ive never gotten a red#on the other hand could do my best to dye some yarn with beets and then it could be more symbolic of red than actually red lol#spinning#bulky sweater spin

So some speculative projects:
Doing some digging for SEO purposes, I found out that there's general interest in even bigger d20s than what I already make.
The blue is the standard size (mine are 22mm), the glittery one is 30mm, which is a relatively normal large d20, but the white one (made of paper) is 50mm!
(I kept seeing 55mm mentioned, but I had this one on hand back from when I was choosing fonts for the then new masters.)
Like heck! It is big! It still easily fits in my hand, but it's so much bigger!
I'm.. so tempted. It's such a satisfyingly large d20. Getting it printed will be its own adventure.
Speaking of adventures, do y'all need somewhere to keep track of yours? I may have something for that!
Some dicey notebooks (as in the pattern, not the quality)
The top one is the first prototype I got but it wasn't the best quality so I shopped around for a bit and found the nicer, larger one with lined, perforated pages! It has a nice matte hardcover with nice, thick black textured paper as the cover pages
And like I'm not going to show my chaotic notes I took from the commissions I did leading up to Christmas, because those are mostly just the lessons I learned along the way and it's just a chaotic mess..
But I honestly really like how they turned out.
I have these pretty much ready to put up in 10 different colors.
They would be print-on-demand but mine arrived within a week so it's not too bad.
I may also do some other patterns or artwork on the covers if there's interest!
#some speculative shop things#i honesty really love the quality of the larger notebook that i chose#theyre also less expensive to produce which is wild#because the smaller ones dont stay open very well and the text block was very roughly cut#meanwhile the larger ones sit flatter and have a nicer cover and have cleaner cuts on the text block#i actually tried to soft launch the notebooks a while ago on the shop but i dont think the listings were that great#that yellow one is my favorite of the ones i made and the brown is my second favorite#and i am using the yellow one we made stencils so i can use it as a weekly planner#also I'm intrigued by the idea of doing the bigger d20#i just need a few people to enable me on this one tbh and I'd gladly do it#i even have a plan for how to get hopefully decent prints of it in parts so we can use the fdm printer G has#it would only work at this larger scale because thr way I'm thinking is face-by-face which would take some assembly but I'm fine with that#if it means theyre less likely to end up warped or have a ton of support to deal with#he has an ender 3 pro and i bought filament for him to use for prototypes like this#it's definitely been helpful to have at least some ability to have things 3d printed#I'm lucky i ended up with an engineering nerd who loves to do stuff like this

im still cleaning my room and im realizing just how many dresses i own
which wouldnt be surprising if it werent for the fact that i usually present vaguely masculine/androgynous
#im pretty sure theyre from the month after i went to my first (and so far only) ren faire#bcus i wanted to get dresses and turn them into outfits for the next ren faire i went to (i havent been to another one yet)#so we went and got a bunch of second hand dresses and i never ended up finishing them bcus i didnt have all the stuff i needed#…i kinda want to do that tho#ill have to ask my mom if i can go to another one soon#a deadline would probably help me with the motivation to make the outfit#and i have this nice (maybe fake) leather bag i got from my grandma that i could use instead of my mothman purse#and i can get some soft fabric some tulle (is that how its spelled?) and some elastic and make skirts to make the dresses poofier#and i can get some fabric for a cloak#ooo i could get fake fur to line the cloak#…nevermind if its in spring or summer i would sweat to death#but if i go to one in fall i could make a cloak with fake fur lining#the last one i went to was in either early fall or really late summer and it was kinda cold so i used a spirit halloween cloak#the spirit halloween cloak was very thin so i was very cold#(it was from goodwill i have never actually bought anything from spirit halloween :/ )

distant lands is so weird. maybe my feelings about it are the weird part also but like idk theres just something about it. to me all four episodes have completely different and often contradictory strengths and weaknesses. its definitely a ‘spinoff show’ but in four different ways. my hot take is despite how well i think together again characterizes finn and jake (pretty much perfectly) bmo is the best one. and it still has some significant problems with pacing
