Fat Probs
I know I just posted but let me tell you how other people will have to deal with your weight. Obese people when they're older and can't move as well, have a hard time washing themselves. My coworker is only maybe 320 pounds but his mobility is so limited that he has sores on his stomach and he smells like actual shit all the time. My mom's boyfriend also has this issue. Not only that, but he either has to shower or use a rag placed on a ladle just to wipe his ass. He has scores under his armpits, his chest and on his back. I couldn't even bring people over because the smell was so embarrassing.
You're not just going to impact yourself. You're going to impact yourself, your partner who's going to have to take care of you, your kids who are going to miss out on your presence and probably have to bear some amount of shame, you're going to inconvenience coworker, friends, bus/airplane passengers. Your choice doesn't only affect you. "The world needs to be more accommodating." Your bones, organs, joints and tendons can't even accommodate you, how is the world going to? The fact is, humans aren't supposed to be that big. They're supposed to fit on a plan and a bus and benches. You're supposed to be able to walk up stairs. You're not supposed to have nasty sores on your body or limited mobility due to your size.
Maybe, the next time you have to pay for 2 airplane seats instead of one, you should ask yourself "why can't I fit" instead of "why can't this chair fit me".

I had a very good time at the 1920s garden party yesterday, but it brought up some feelings... I wore what I lovingly call "theater accurate" clothing. Good enough from a distance, though up close its all polyester nonsense. But I dressed for a daytime party, because no one in the 20s would wear glitter and fringe and feathers to a garden party. I spent most of the day with two women dressed in fringe-y dresses, one sparkly and so popular we lost count of the number of women we saw wearing it in various colorways. They got a lot of compliments on their outfits. I got just a few, and from older people who were also dressed accurately. And I know it wasn't because I was not sparkly. It's because I'm fat. And it's just so disheartening that the same bullshit fat women deal with every day, dressing better than our colleagues and still being seen as messy, happens at ridiculous vintage events, too. I saw it in the way the people I was with reacted to everyone else's clothes, too. Two people could be wearing the same dress, one fat with fabulous makeup and a gorgeous wig, the other thin, with her hair in a messy and half hearted attempt at a faux bob, and the thin one would be noticed first, and complimented. I felt like I did at my junior prom, when all the mom chaperones told me how beautiful my dress was and how nice I looked (and they meant it sincerely) but all I wanted was for a classmate to say the same thing.

As this discourse around body positivity and self love gets co-opted more and more by people who are already scaling high on the desirability scale and who are loved by the whole world already-I am forced to ask myself: who is all this ‘love yourself’ rhetoric for? ••• People didn’t learn to hate themselves by themselves. We didn’t wake up hating our bodies or who we are. We were taught that. Everyday. By society. By the people around us. ••• So if we didn’t learn to hate ourselves by ourselves, why should we learn to love ourselves all by ourselves? ••• So the next time you want to yell ‘love yourself’ to someone, why don’t you love them instead? * * * #selflove #feminist #feminism #intersectionality #intersectionalfeminism #loveyourself #loveyourselfquotes #privilege #thinprivilege #beautystandards (at Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bx_MVQTBCgd/?igshid=oiwstly7zphm

i’m just over this
imagine you’re researching obesity and you come across the thinprivilege level of idiocy.
like, mate, ok. i know it’s hard. I’m no twiggy either. but the likelihood of it being just a cosmetic issue and not something that ups your chances of being very miserable past a certain point is... close to zero. 2000 calories a day isn’t a starvation regiment for an adult woman, for fuff’s sake. No, you can’t calculate your BMR based on your total weight instead of the metabolically active tissue. No, being stared at when you wolf down three buckets of KFC chicken isn’t fatphobia. No, just because your bloodwork is good now you really shouldn’t continue drinking a bottle of soda every day.
and on the other side:
no, calorie in calorie out doesn’t work that way. yes, there is a thing called metabolic syndrome and genetic factors to obesity. (Seriously, most of my overweight and obese teenage probands eat less than their normostenic counterparts)  (as a polygenic trait you do have certain degree of control over it, but you have to take action during childhood... which usually doesn’t happen) It’s not fatlogic to argue that one of the components of the obesity epidemic is the change in the environment that is beyond any individual’s control. Gut bacteria can make or break your BMI. There is a socioeconomic factor to the prevalence of obesity and no, it’s not that poor people are lazy gluttons, you wee shits.

Dance Classes
A friend posts on Facebook that they are taking a dance class for fun. I know if I even considered it I would have to worry if I was the biggest person in the class, how much I would sweat, could I even keep up with the rest of the attendees, and what would I even wear that could cover my fat body but not be too hot? The class would be far from fun for me. It is a shame that one has to wait to be thin enough to start doing things other (smaller) people see only as fun.
I have found society in  upper Midwestern American to be a place where fat people are taught through media, others parroting media and unwritten social rules that fat people are not allowed to do certain things , like take dance classes, until they are thin enough. I am not allowed to state this to smaller people either. I am told that these feelings of deprivation should be used as motivation for me to lose the weight so that i can be like everyone else.

I was watching videos and remembered that marine bear bustle is actually still available new, but I checked just to look sadly and the colorway I want (mint) is out of stock, so I am freed from potentially feeling bad in the back of my head that I didn’t try to negotiate with someone for it. (also it sounds like I should be able to fit comfortably into it unaltered which is nice, #thinprivilege)

@eyesw I saw your ask about how you find it hard to deal with "1 time fat, always fat". I deal with it by not believing it, and I've lost 40 kg since 2/2016 and have been maintaining my weight for a few months now without strictly counting calories. I'm kinda hopeful that I will be able to kepe it down, lose it again if I can't, and lose more eventually.
I recommend you check https://www.reddit.com/r/loseit/ , people tag themselves for how much they've lost or how long they've been maintaining for.
It is your choice to believe the FA people, definitely, and I'm not going to bother you any further unless you want me to, but I wanted you to know that there are other choices, and that there are ex-FA people who have made them and are happy with that.
If you have questions, feel feel to reply, send an ask, or message me.

Wow. The #ignorance of #somepeople is astounding. Yeah ok sure 👍 So you have never seen a fat kid get picked on at school? So you've never seen a fat person get side-eyed for eating in public? So you've never seen a fat person get laughed at in P.E or at the Gym? So you've never seen woman get called a FAT bitch? So you've never seen some get called fat as an insult? So you've never watched an US/UK tv show or movie...like ever... 😔😒 #icallbullshit #thinpriviledgedenial #denial #thingsskinnygirlssay #thingsskinnybitchessay #fatshaming #fatshamingisreal #thinprivilege #thinprivilegeisreal #thinprivilegeinvadingfatpositive #privilegedside #fatpositive #fatshamers #fatpositivespaces #fatfriendly
