do you have any au versions of paisley and rex you like? (yours or others)
YES!
I definitely like @quasarzt’s roleswap AU version of them, awesome and simple designs and looks very familiar to the show! 💫
@creatorping’s mashup of WK and that Dunmeshi show, Paisley looks so badass! And Rex looks very nice! ⭐️
@lovelybakerandconstructionworker’s AU of Rex, I love his design, he looks very pretty! ✨
And I’ve been thinking about drawing something regarding this, this gives me more motivation! 🔭

There's this kind of hybrid artstyle in comics lately that I wanna learn how to do (i just wanna stare at them coz its too pretty). Would it be an insult to call it hybrid? Hybrid in a way that its more anime-ish/cartoon-ish...but still very much in comic artstyle. It's very stylized too, and it's more softer and expressive on the face, and I love it.
I don't know if its a real thing, or I'm just seeing things in my fave artists in comics
Jorge Jimenez (Super Son Vol. 1)
Simone di Meo (Robin 2021 #16)
Belen Ortega (Batman 2016)
Yasmine Putri (Robin 80th Anniversary)
For chibi, theres
Dustin Nguyen (Lil Gotham 2021)
Juni Ba (Boy Wonder 2024)
Other notable artists that I like: (1) Patrick Gleason for giving us RSOB & for drawing kids who look like kids; (2) Joelle Jones for lineart; (3) Christopher Mittens for inking and panelling; (4) Otto Schmidt for character dynamic & fight scenes; (5) Gabriel Picolo for nostalgic DCAM feels

I had a nightmare in which my face was covered in painful blisters. They looked like big zits but hole-y. One of them, on my forehead, had something sticking out of it. As I started pulling on the tip, I soon enough discovered that it was the leaf of a long vine that was nestled within my head. As I was pulling it out, I felt its roots snapping and sliding through my veins. I started coughing violently after I got rid of it. I called out to my bf for help as I started clawing at something itching in my throat. I pulled out a bunch of long twisty viney weeds from my mouth that were rooted in the pit of my stomach.
And then I woke up.
Suddenly Drakken's plant mutation doesn't seem so appealing to me anymore...

I think it’s kinda crazy that ppl saying “I wish more ppl read the comics” is considered kinda gatekeep-y or anything like that… Bc all I imagine is ppl doing that w cartoons.
you tell someone to watch the owl house if they’re going to invest so much time in these characters & they tell you to fuck off they’ll continue never seeing an episode of the owl house bc fanon is more fun anyways & like im sorry but I just giggle to myself thinking about it

ive mentioned before my like. fascination and incomprehensible attachment to mysterious ambiguously brown man characters in schlocky fantasy romance media marketed towards women and a lot of it is from like, a like. nearly anthropological standpoint as someone heavily interested in orientalism in narrative media from a visual culture and art historical point of view and a part of it is also from being mixed race and ambiguous IRL LOL BUT there is one other angle i havent really touched on thats on my mind a lot. you know that bit we all go through where someone reads something like mediocre and it sticks in their mind more than something well written? the "I COULD FIX THISSSS" curse..... im like this with ambiguously brown characters. holds loosely (LOOSELY) south asian coded love interest from some romance comic #8997485344534984875943 tenderly in my hands..... my brother i know you weren't written with this depth but i know the truth. i know about your complexities as you navigate this fantasy europe as a racialized man. i know your truth

I've got my disney duck addiction back but other then dw and some of the disney afternoon cartoons I need some comic recommendations cuZ I'm really curious about them.
Do you know any good ones?
there are 2 recent Darkwing comic series that I'm a huge fan of - I bought up everything in the 2010 BOOM! series, which isn't afraid to get dark and bittersweet with its stories, and features a (no longer canon lmao) crossover with ducktales!
this is from issue #1 of the Boom! series, picking up after the end of the cartoon where Drake has started a new life as a working stiff to keep Gosalyn safe, which means no superhero-ing and no Launchpad. They give him and LP big "divorced but still missing each other" energy and it's breathtaking to watch
