Idea!

Ex-Twin

Damian and Danyal were twins. They were very close but only within their mother's sight. Everyone else only ever saw a cold indifference.

Danyal has failed a mission at the age of 6 which resulted in his death. Damian was with him at the time and retrieved the body. In a desperate attempt to get his brother back, he tried to dip him into the Lazarus Pit.

The Pit took him away much to the heartbreak of the living boy.

Damian threw himself into an even more ruthless training and excelled at it. With time, Ra's was even happy that the other boy has died. It served as an excellent motivator to his heir.

Years passed. Damian has been with his Father for a long while now. He was now turning 22 and Father held a Gala in his honour. Damian has long since realised that it was quite unnecessary but it helped their covers and allowed him to make connections.

However, they were just as boring as ever. Same faces, same lies, same talks. Nothing aloevera changed

Until a new couple from a city Amity Park, came with two teenage children. Samantha, the girl, was expected. Her bright pink gown less so if any information on her was any true.

Her companion, a boy her age, clearly uncomfortable in the suit and tie, made the ground under his feet disappear.

He looked so much like Damian himself did at the age of 15. And his eyes were that familiar, haunting blue.

Damian excused himself from his current conversation, and gracefully strode out of the room past the young teens.

Maybe he was being paranoid. Most likely unreasonably hopeful. Perhaps he was behaving irrationally.

Nonetheless, long minutes later, the scan of a hair he managed to snag revealed the truth.

It was his brother.

He came back.

Um... so, Maddie and Jack got dozed with some old Ecto at some point during very early stages of Maddie's pregnancy and Lazarus (Ectoplasm+Clockwork) infused the preserved genes of the baby, who died so early and had a glorious life of adventures ahead of him, into the barely formed zygot.

Danny's adventures happened. Phantom Planet not so much (unless you want it to be after the AGIT). Sam's parents finally made into an even bigger leagues and were invited to the Gala.

Danny had a bad feeling. Anything to do with the extremely rich was always problematic. No offence, Sam.

the new girl at one of my favorite bakeries called me pretty this morning and it literally melted all my stress away 🥺

#kai.rambles #i was feeling sad bc my grandma is in the hospital and when i went to visit her they wouldn’t let me pass bc my license is expired #which okay ik that’s my fault but i took my passport with me just in case and the guy straight up told me that it wasn’t a valid form of id #and im like yeah tf it is ITS A PASSPORT and he said no #and while i was waiting for my mom to come down to the lobby an old lady came in and he turned her away for the same thing #and dudeee okay you turn me away fine fuck off but an old ladyyy??? at that age they don’t pay attention to that just let her pass #and then he argued with another woman bc she brought a flower arrangement and it had water so he couldn’t allow it HELLOOO??!?#so i had to leave and went to go get breakfast for my mom at least bc she stayed the night and i was supposed to stay the day #and when i came back to give her the food she told me that the nurse that was with my grandma asked what happened bc she wasn’t expecting #my mom to return and when my mom told her she immediately got so angry bc that same guy #didn’t allow her and a couple other nurses to bring in a cake for one of the residents #who’s birthday is today and they had a full on argument this morning #so it was all in all awful and now my mom has been there for more than 20 hours until later tonight when my aunt goes over :(#anyway this turned into a whole rant im sorry but im so mad bc i know for a FACT that a passport is a valid form of id #and he was just being a fkn dick #but the girl called me pretty and it took some stress off and she really liked my blush #and i liked hers so we had a little makeup 101 exchange and it was so nice at least 🥺#and i have a couple cute asks to answer that have made my day as well so i’ll get to those in a few 🥰

it honestly frustrates me when i see people reduce the ericsons cast down to "just some teens in the woods" acting like theyre no different than any other group of lone teenagers from other existing properties and treating them like an overused trope

it is sooo important to acknowledge the "troubled youth" aspect of the whole equation. theyre not just some random teens in the woods clem stumbles across. these kids were abandoned by their families for their various "difficulties" and fucked up by The System before the outbreak even began. and then once zombies started roaming the streets their familes never came back for them and the adults that were in charge of taking care of them just left them there to rot in that old boarding school (except for ms martin who was like their lee 🥺 the only person who ever saw them as the scared traumatized kids they were and died protecting them)

the whole aspect of them already being fucked up by the adults that controlled their lives is like.....kind of important when discussing the whole "delta is stealing kids to force them to fight in a war they have no real part in and want nothing to do with" aspect of the season. and its important when comparing them to clem and her journey of also suffering at the hands of the adults around her forcing her to become self reliant. AND its important when discussing the "just trying to build a safe home (and future) worth fighting for in this world that wants them dead" aspect of the season as well

these kids were forced to come together to survive. and a Lot of them didnt... theyre the only family they have left and you can tell that even when they argue with each other theyre still a close knit group who looks out for each other. theyre a Real family before clem even gets there (and its why what really happened with the twins and brody and marlon hits them all so especially hard)

all of this is what REALLY makes ericsons such a perfect home for clem. its a Real community of her True peers. theyre not Just teens. they mightve had a layer of safety clem never had by at least having walls to keep them safe. and having the benefit of the school being hard to find. its the only reason theyre still alive when clem shows up. but theyre also some of the only people who can Truly understand where clem and aj are coming from. and its why it hurts so much when they vote to kick them out. but its also partially why she merges back into the fold so easily when she returns. plus the fact that shes Really the only one who has any idea what shes doing. shes their rock and she makes them feel safe because underneath it all theyre still just those scared traumatized kids ("EVERYONE is scared, clem..." vi was Definitely including herself in that 'everyone'), and on some level, so is clem

they saved clementines life. and she saved theirs. "the school was supposed to help them with their trauma, now they help each other" its about the LOVE the COMMUNITY the SUPPORT!!!! and thats the shit that makes good zombie media honestly 👌

#critical role #c3 #p #cr3x95 #both the sweet and shenanigan-y part and then the ABSOLUTE PEAK DRAMA HOO BOY #everything's so fucked up and by everything i mean mostly laudna #sometimes it gets on the back burner but like. this has been coming up with more and more force as the story goes on #is the question of..how will this ever. ever. end for her. how? she's so entwined with delilah. she doesn't seem to have the inner strength #to rip herself away from that influence; that presence that has killed her; made her; shaped her; accompanied her for decades #that's been a whisper in her ear and into her deepest thoughts for longer than imogen - the other biggest influence on her - has been alive #and even if laudna /could/ find the mental fortitude to attempt to rid herself of something that's this integral to her very existence #i don't know how she could? and now i mean physically; she's alive only through delilah; she's tethered to this essence; how could she ever #be her very own person again; how would that /look like/?#we thought we saw it after her resurrection but in the end that's not truly what it was. delilah was still in there #and if she ever truly left-could laudna live?how? a continued endless undeath? some true form of return to life? it seems terribly unlikely #and after episodes like this... it all seems so helpless #a little like what imogen was trying to express. 'i love you. i will always love you. i just don't know what to do with it.'#because it feels like you cannot ever truly move laudna out of the position she is in #but that position is becoming more and more precarious #now i've gotten into the thoughts re:laudna but THAT ENTIRE COMFLICT WAS AMAZING AND I'M HERE FOR IT

#my special interest is way more than just dinosaurs im oversimplifying ahdjska #dinosaurs are actually one of the least interesting parts of deep time to me #but theyre easier for me to talk about bc its the part everyone is already familiar with #my FAVORITE part of deep time is the animals that came before the dinosaurs #ESPECIALLY all the funky little dudes in the cambrian period #but also the beginning of life itself and all the animals that preceded and evolved into the classifications we know today #(the first vertebrates! the first land animals! the ancestors to amphibians and reptiles and mammals and dinosaurs!)#and also the things that came after them? like megafauna are really cool #and i love learning about the evolution of human ancestors too #and maybe even a bit of archaeology instead of paleontology if im feeling spicy (which would be humans less than 10000 years ago)#and theres other cool fields too like paleogeography?? like the study of ancient supercontinents and how they formed??#anyways im rambling. my point is that i think its funny that i have a somewhat stereotypical special interest with facets that all connect #while she has a lot of seemingly more random ones #a while back i picked up my qpp while i had some of trixies books in my car that she had asked me to return to the library #and as i moved the 6-7 books about the russian revolution out of my passenger seat i was just like #well. you probably can tell which special interest trixie is hyperfixating on right now 😂#other times she'll check out a bunch of jfk books or titanic books or magic books at once and go through them like crazy #and shes done a lot of personal research into different unsolved murder cases from the 1800s. even wanted to write a book at one point #i know im poking fun here but my gf is one of the coolest people in the world and has really cool special interests #it is my honor and privilege to listen to a goth girl infodump about historical murders and tragic accidents and magic o7 #rambling

predictably, i am absolutely feral about the new sleater-kinney record

#like jdjdjkdjfjf its easily their best since no cities to love #it feels like a return to form but like also like something new #the whole tracklist is a bop but Hunt You Down #Six Mistakes #and of course Hell #are standouts #my one complaint is that the drums feel soooo stale #which is like expected with this modern era of sleater kinney sans janet #but like still its still a disappointment #the songwriting more than makes up for it though #im so excited for my vinyl to arrive #i got the limited edition gold splash one #ill post pics once it gets here #esther rambles #sleater kinney #sleater-kinney
