Saga - a young child with pale sunburned skin, very long platinum blonde hair and the brightest blue eyes, wearing a yellow 70s hippie dress - sat on the floor of her Dad's car, an old red one she didn't know the name of.

She pressed against the old weathered leather seats and hid as much as she could from the explosions and gunshots ringing from the outside. Her Dad had left to find something to eat a while ago, probably dumpster diving or pickpocketing, and he had yet to return. Saga hoped he was out of harms way, as well as anyone could living in Gotham City.

(She missed her home country, in times as these. The government and Authority had been the reason of her mother's passing, and the eviction of their tiny house in Falun. But she hadn't needed to worry about the violent fights as these there, hadn't needed to worry about her Dad getting in the crossfire or exploding alive. Barely had she needed to worry much about goons in general.)

Saga looked up through the windows again, fire casting orange shadows across the buildings across the street, hoping her Dad would hurry back so they could leave this city already. Or at least this part of it. She tugged her knees closer to her chest, hugging herself tightly as she listened to the quickly approaching fight outside.

She'd give Dad a few more minutes before she'd drive away from here herself, despite her being far too small for such a thing. Maybe they could try Metropolis or Fawcett next time? She thought that was the name of the cities at least... Or just some normal city for once!

She hugged herself tighter, covering her ears as the sounds got louder, tears threatening to fall as all she could only think was:

Where is Dad?! Dad, come onnn hurry!!!

I’m Berry! I’m 20 years old now and this is my blog! This blog is mostly SFW but *occasionally* features suggestive or angsty content so please scroll at your own discretion! (Minors, DNI, sorry!) I post for a lot of different fandoms but tend to hyperfixate on one at a time… A good fic or prompt is usually enough to recapture my interest for an old fandom of mine, though! 👀

Disclaimer on ships: I find healthy and unhealthy ships interesting- it doesn’t mean I think they *should* be together and depicted as happy in canon necessarily or those kinds of relationships are good to have in real life. I just think fictional characters who make bad decisions but are narratively linked and important for each other’s character development are interesting and make for complicated and fascinating dynamics/stories! (E.g. Catradora, BillFord, Nandermo, Darklina, Dabihawks, etc). I will reblog content (sometimes sweet and goofy aus ignoring the bad side, sometimes stuff reflecting their canon relationship, sometimes things dealing with the darker stuff) for both healthy, sweet ships and also for unhealthy but narratively interesting ships between consenting adults! I don’t ship or reblog any inc3s7 ships or ships involving minors and adults. That said, please don’t bash people for their ships on my fics or posts- just block and move on! Shipping discourse isn’t worth it.

Disclaimer on fandoms: I like a lot of fandoms! Some I have been in for a LONG time. You might even see some you don’t like, or which have creators with views we all dislike. You’ll see a big mix on my page, ranging from shows like MHA to WWDITS to OFMD to Good Omens to Gravity Falls. I don’t keep up with politics around what the creators or cast have been saying/doing (unless they are very loud… Looking at you JKR…. (Fuck JKR)) because I find Twitter deeply depressing. Been reading through your blog and I agree with a lot of what you post about d although she’s actually still my favorite character but most other d fans hate me and accuse me of secretly hating her and being a Sansa stan (I do like Sansa but d is my fav) just because I’ll be like yeah I think she’s been written as a budding villain like she was referred to as a THREAT in GRRMs original outline. I think there’s a CHANCE that the villain interpretation is wrong but it’s not likely. I can’t imagine that the show would’ve done that if it was entirely the show’s own idea. It’s been obvious to me since book one when she didn’t realize how cruel it was to ask mirri to heal drogo, then killed her instead of sympathizing with her plight. I also like aegony but think a lot of the foreshadowing people claim isn’t all that sound and could easily have other explanations but when I try to talk to other fans about it suddenly I’m an anti d psyop jonsa stan. I’m totally jonsa neutral tbh I ship her with Podrick because I think it’d be cute but I know that’s pure crack

It's true, she was a villain since the first book. Imagine if we were reading Viserys' POV and we heard her say how she's planning to have her son sit on the IT. That's treason, bitch. Those D stans also keep saying that MMD was such a villain that she killed her baby but if you look closely at the text, MMD only "admitted" she killed Rhaego after Dany has accused her of doing so. Why would MMD do that? To twist the knife into Dany's heart just like how Tyrion admitted to killing Joffrey to Jamie. Dany also planned to kill an innocent person in exchange for Drogo's life so...

She's so fickle I believe she'd have ordered the death of children over 14 if she had eaten 14 berries that day. There's no way she thinks one should denounce slavery when they're over 12 years old, right? If they don't, they deserve to be killed. By that logic, she should be slitting her own wrist. She had no problem using Drogo's, Xaro's, and Illyrio's slaves at age 13 to 15. 01. MANGA BASED. i've fully watched the anime + ovas + movies ( dubbed ), read the manga and i'm planning to watch the remake yet my akane will be entirely manga based. akane and ranma are equals and the 80s manga has been the only media so far reflecting this so i'm sticking with it.

02. FOLLOWING. this is a semi selective mutuals only blog. open to other fandoms, multimuses, ocs, and even doubles. having a rules page is a must for me, i won't follow without one. i have the right to unfollow and block at any moment. if i follow it means i'm interested in interacting ! feel free to send an ask, like old starter calls or approach to plot.

can you talk more about that? I have noticed some people on reddit resenting Faberritana’s popularity because three of them are white (and one is viewed as the epitome of pretty privilege) and another is a slender, lighter-skinned and mixed-white Afro-Latina (aka Hollywood’s “acceptable” version of a black woman, akin to Zendaya) and while that’s a discussion to be had, imo some in the fandom take it too far and suggest that racism, colorism and fatphobia are the main reasons why they're the four most popular female characters on Glee in general and idk that also rubs me the wrong way.

Yes of course, because it can be a controversial topic but honestly fuck whoever takes issue with me saying this.

Like, let's start off with this: I get that the Faberritana thing can be annoying. I myself find it grating, particularly when I see stuff from the height of the Glee fandom 2011-2012 and it's very clearly centering on Faberritana, at the expense and exclusion of the two other main girls who are less conventionally palatable for, let's be honest, racist and fatphobic reasons. And Glee itself was very, very bad at centering them. So like, I Get It. Faberritana feels like elevating the three white ladies of the group and "allowing" Santana to also take on that fan favourite role. I'd wager, because of the queer storyline and yes, Naya's undeniable conventional attractiveness. Although I do take issue with the baffling backlash people like Zendaya face because shifting the blame onto women of colour for Hollywood deeming them more screen appropriate is in itself fucked up. Particularly in Naya's case because her mixed heritage was constantly ignored to boil it down to something more easily consumable, such as in the context of Glee her being the token Latina and her Blackness all but erased. But anyway.

The answer to this being this, like you say, taking it too far and creating a counter movement is just all wrong. To me. Not only because putting some women down to elevate others NEVER should be the fucking case oh my god it's 2023, but because appreciation for Mertina being born out of spite towards Faberritana enjoyers is... not real appreciation. I could start stanning St Berry sooo hard but if it's just because I find Finchel more and more repulsive, that ain't gonna be the great win for St Berry I sometimes see people posit Mertina appreciation as. I know this sounds strange but it's the fandom equivalent of trying to make an ex jealous via your rebound. You're not actually taking the rebound's feelings into consideration. Alright okay out of left field simile but you get where I'm coming from.

I think that's what annoyed me the most in my reddit days, which, *shudders* are thankfully over. This childish need to counterbalance to take extreme. X ch is popular? Well I don't like them so there must be a moral reason as to why they're The Worst, actually. Y ship is well-liked? I'm going to passive-aggressively show appreciation for Z shit all while implying that all who support another ship hint hint wink wink are Wrong and basic. I think all who spent time on the sub will be able to relate to this. But like I say, that's not real appreciation. If you feel like showing appreciation for, say, Mertina because they're statistically less like to be talked about with the same fervor, good! Please do that. But make it come from a place of authenticity or I, for one, will not be able to get fully behind it.

It's slightly different on tumblr. One, because you curate your own dashboard and experiences and I've fortunately seen the love get spread around a lot more. There are entire blogs I associate with loving Tina (hello tumblr user @tina-cohen-chang) and though Mercedes love is less "centered", I guess, it's ubiquitous as far as I see. And sure, some chs will always be more appreciated than others, but I don't see people throwing a hissy fit about Artie not being even close to being as popular or Klaine, or similar things. Liking the Glee boys is basically synonymous to liking Klaine + Sam + Mike but people never used the term Klainesike so I guess that's okay. And to be clear, it is okay! Like who you like, call it what you want. I'm happy to see things like Tina week or the relatively smaller but constant portions of Mercedes love. It's never the people complaining about Faberritana supplying it, though, which is why it's so performative. You don't have to be a content creator, no one does, but also no one owes you anything and supporting less fan favourite-y chs out of pure spite just makes you look like an ass.

Circling back, even with all this said I too find the unironic use of the Faberritana portmaunteu cringe and I do think Mertina deserve more appreciation. And I think there are layers of racism as well as the show's own issues playing into why that isn't the case. They were less featured and that in itself is a problem. And that's worth investigating within fandom circles. But that's never what happens when the people of reddit complain about Faberritana's popularity and instead it just becomes this resentment party where no one wins but they give themselves brownie points for even pretending to like the Black and Asian women of the show. Congrats I guess, real win for intersectional feminism right there. Really kicked racism in the gut with that.

Basically it just becomes grating, far more grating than unironically using the term Faberritana, when people get into petty passive-aggressive counter-movements in fandom. It becomes not about love for Mertina but bitterness that chs they happen to not like are popular. And I know I just said in my reply that I don't vibe with what I perceive to be inauthentic appreciation of chs, but I also don't like when fans start policing within fandom. So I'm not doing that with anything I'm saying, in fact what I'm trying to get at is to enjoy and let enjoy. Heaven knows I don't have the energy to spread all my Glee love equally and that's okay. I do try to express the love I have for chs other than Santana, or other than my usual suspects but at the end of the day, I know what I like and I like it because I want to enjoy it. Getting sort of off topic, anyway, so just like stop be an ass about people's love for things and mind your own business. If your own business is liking thing X then that's great, enjoy the fandom content and create your own if you wish, but why be mad about what people like about a 10 year-old show, particularly if you're too lazy to actually have those discussion about race and gender and other larger societal issues. You know?

daydreaming about a quiet day with sasuke. him helping me with heavier things in the garden, me putting sunscreen on him and making him wear a big hat so he doesn’t burn. him trying to keep me from eating all the berries as i pick them even though he’s doing the same with the cherry tomatoes.

daydreaming about cooking us something for lunch and eating it on the engawa together, listening to the sounds of nature. maybe we go for a walk to digest. i like to imagine him picking me up by the waist to help me step up a log while we’re on the trail, or moving me to avoid me stepping in mud.

at some point he’ll want to get some training in and he’ll make me join him because he cares about my health. but when i get whiny he’ll let me have a water break while he does some more intense training, things he lowkey wants to show off to me because he likes to hear my impressed gasps while i watch him.
