this is more of a prolonged thought than a cohesive fic but I hope you enjoy
baby daddy deku?
18+ MDNI
god … imagine it being some random hook up ? a friend of mina’s that showed up at one of her pool parties.
and you looked so pretty in that sundress— all soft and smooth. thin fabric nestled perfectly against your curves. and fuck when he watched you pull it off, revealing the tiniest little bikini… he knew it was a wrap.
deku fucked you hard that afternoon. mina’s bathroom— butt naked with the lights on.
he had you bent over the counter with one hand covering your mouth and the other gripping your wrists behind your back. thick cock pounded your poor cunny that was already swollen and puffy from his extremely thorough prep.
deku was so whiny in your pussy. begging you to ‘take that dick, please’ and praising you for “squeezin’ (him) so perfect”.
each thrust was like having the wind knocked out of your lungs. it felt like he was nestled in your rib cage. all you could do is scream and cream on his cock while he wrecked you.
and that was that.
he filled your little pussy then licked you clean . a particularly nasty kiss was exchange fill with cum , spit and your own arousal.
the two of you exchanged numbers but of course he didn’t call. you didn’t expect him too. he’s a busy guy. a rising pro hero with a growing agency. you had no intention of making this situation more than what it was, that is until you realized your period was late.
now you had no intention of telling him. you didn’t want to tell anyone. you locked yourself in your apartment to embarrassed to venture. you probably would’ve gave birth in there had it not been for mina beating your door down to make sure that you were still alive.
she scolded you for trying to do this alone. reassuring that she would be there for you regardless. encouraging you to be brave in your new journey. and getting really excited to be an aunt.
she even helped tell deku when you were ready— which was about the beginning of the second trimester. she marched the two of you right past his secretary and into his office.
he was a bit startled at the sudden intrusion.
“ashido— oh”
seeing you was a surprise. he wanted to contact you after the … fling but time got away from him. if he wasn’t doing hero work , he was making appearances. if he wasn’t making appearances, he was sleeping. surely, you wouldn’t hold it against him ?
but then he noticed you cradling your stomach that looked slightly rounder than the last time he saw you.
his brain short circuited but only for a second. after a few deep breaths and a sip of water then he’s at your feet profusely apologizing and promising to be there every step of the way in some way shape or form.
deku makes good on that promise. he will never let you go to an appointment alone. if he can’t be there personally he’ll enlist the help of mina, and kacchan on occasion. the appointments with bakugo are always pretty fun because he tried to censor his speech for the baby.
“i don’t need that daaarn nerd on my case if his brat comes out cursing !”
deku gets so excited and invested in this baby that it’s bleeding in every aspect of his life. literally lost it when he found out that he’d be having a baby girl. he has to catch himself during interviews to keep himself from spilling too much tea about the “brand new girl” in his life.
things are great with you too ! it was easy for him to develop a friendship with you. heck you’re the mother of his child and you’ve already touched privates so is awkward small talk really necessary?
he’s rock solid. a shoulder you can cry on when things get to tough. deku will always be there to help you carry the burden. he spend the majority of the final trimester in your apartment helping out wherever he could.
and when the baby finally came— ahh! cue the water works. between him and his mother, they nearly had to evacuate the maternity ward for fear of flooding. he couldn’t help it. every time he looked at that little bundle he couldn’t help but be in awe and then he’d look at you and feel even more love because you’re the one that gave it to him.
six month in your baby girl is sitting up and babbling. rolling in her crib wearing an all might onesie and dynamight booties. she’s your twin— save for the curly green space buns and sparkling emerald eyes. easily the cutest baby in the world.
deku just wants to hold her all day. all of his spare time is spent with her. he’s barely even using his apartment at this point only going once a week to get more clothes. most of the time he’ll crash out on the floor next to the baby’s crib or on the couch with her on his tummy.
he’s just so comfortable here. a little too comfortable some might suggest.
he can’t help but bristle at the inquiries about your relationship. eye twitching when kaminari jokes about you being back on the market.
he has no reason to be upset. you’re a beautiful woman and of course there’s the potential for interested suitors but it just doesn’t sit right with him. it nags on him all day. well past the end of his shift. well past when his daughter has fallen asleep. well past when you’ve handed him his blanket and said goodnight.
he just can’t shake the sick feeling in his stomach whenever he thinks of you in another man’s arms.
so he goes to your door and allmight help him when he hears soft whimpers of his name.
“izuku~”
“right there, izu”
“s’good. so good”
and if that’s not a sign then he doesn’t know what is.
you’re embarrassed when he opens the door. cheeks hot and ears burning at his lewd gaze. he gives you no time to explain it away— kissing you passionately while tearing off the remainder of his clothes.
he doesn’t fuck you hard like he did the first time. he fucks you slow. painfully slow. he wants to learn your body. he needs to feel you. and there’s no need to rush. the two of you have all the time in the world.

Miles Fairchild x fem!reader
Chapter seven: So now you're back?
A note from Fxchild ! Hi hi so ya I am not dead ! My phone lit broke and I totes forgot my email for this acc but now I'm back and my writers block has never gone away so quickly ! I'm so excited for new chapters to b out soon ! In the meantime while you r waiting for chapters, if you have one shot ideas for characters Finn Wolfhard plays I would b more than happy to write those so you guys aren't waiting forever for a new chapter ! So...finally heres the well awaited chapter seven ! I hope you enjoy this <3
It's the first day of May. It's also been three months since Miles left again. I keep telling Flora that he'll be back soon but I feel my heart break every time I lie to her. I don't think he will be back until I leave for the summer and then he'll leave again when I come back. I feel so guilty..Flora doesn't have a brother that lives with her because of me. But was it all really my fault? He treats me like shit and expects me to tolerate it. Never mind. I don't give a flying fuck about him anymore. He can do whatever he wants, if something happens to him, oh boo hoo not my problem.
It was finally Friday which means I have tomorrow off and I only have to teach Flora a little today because the weather was perfect for horseback riding and I'd promise to let her out today. Today I wore a dark red top with dark grey jeans with black high top shoes. I put my hair in a half up half down clip and did minimal makeup because I was planning on recording myself for an upcoming interview I have for a summer job.
Today I planned out a written test to see Flora's knowledge on geography. I would give her a half an hour to finish up on review and two hours for the test. The test was fairly easy so it shouldn't take her more than an hour or so.
"And begin." I smiled at Flora, setting my timer on my desk which is right across from hers. She immediately begins to read and write down answers while I look over her past work to grade.
Around 45 minutes into the session we hear the front door open. Flora pays no attention to it, I assume it's Ms. Grose coming in from cutting grass or buying groceries so I ignore it and go back to reading old assignments. Around a few minutes went by when I heard footsteps coming to the room. Expecting Ms. Grose I take my feet off the desk and fix my posture without looking at the door. I pretend to be in deep thought with grading when I hear someone clear their throat and hear Flora shout,
"Miles!" She screeches and jumps from her seat running over to hug him. I immediately turn my whole body in my chair with wide eyes. His hair slightly longer and he looks a little taller. He still has the same smirk and dead eyes I saw the night he left. He had on a black coat that ran down to his knees and two bags in his hands that he must have taken when he left. He engulfs Flora into a hug and smiles down at her. I've never seen that smile before. Unlike the ones he had given me this one was warm and loving. I think I had given him that smile before but I wasn't sure. Finally after what seemed like an eternity, he looked up at me and smiled. It was genuine, his eyes brightened. I knew it was real because it wasn't that same old smirk he put on with confidence, he looked painfully awkward and his eyes kept darting between me and the wooden floor. I didn't smile back. I rose up from my seat and walked over to him.
"Flora, why don't you take Miles bags and put them in his room for him sweetheart?" I smiled down at her while patting her hair. She gladly accepts and runs off with his bags. Miles smiles at me again nodding opening his mouth to speak but I cut him off.
"How you been Miles? Where'd you go this time huh? Was it fun?" I say with a sarcastic fake smile, he could tell I was mad.
"Well I-" He begins as I slap his face.
"You scared the shit out of me! Do you know how upset Flora was? She cried for almost a week, blaming herself, poor girl!" I say gritting my teeth with my eyes starting to tear up slightly.
He stared at me with pursed lips before sighing and answering. "He told me to."
I scoff and look at him dumbfounded. "He? Wh-who the hell is 'he' Miles huh? What are you schizo?" I roll my eyes annoyed
"Nobody-nothing. I just..had a dream that's all." He shakes his head staring down at the floor with shame.
"Whatever Miles." I roll my eyes and walk over to Flora's desk to pick up her finished test. "Better go find Flora. Told her she could get out of class early to go ride the horses." I say looking through her test without looking up at Miles.
"You're not gonna come?" He asks quietly, nodding his head to the side, scratching the back of his neck.
I chuckle quietly before placing the test back on the desk. "After the last time?" I walk over to him, picking a pine needle off his jacket. "No thanks." I fake smile before walking out of the room to my own. When I reach my room I fall flat onto my bed before letting out a loud sigh into my pillow. A few minutes later I look out the window. I see Flora and Miles running to the stables and shouting happily. I turn to look at my Calendar, 30 days until I leave. I got sick of sitting in my room bored and decided to go do something, anything in his boring place.
I walk into the kitchen hoping there's an apple or some food sitting out but instead of being greeted with food, it's an unbearable Ms. Grose. I smile at her but she crosses her arms and frowns at me.
"Why are you being so unpleasant towards Miles?" She grits her teeth. "What are you talking about?" I ask trying to pretend I have no clue what's going on. "Talking to him in such an arrogant tone, not accepting his offer and you still wonder why he left? You should be shamed." She spits at me coldly. My face dropped as I start to feel tears in the corners of my eyes.
I quickly ran back up to my room and slam the door. Tears start to stream down my face as I grab my backpack and start shoving stuff into my bag. By the time I zipped it up I hear the front door open again. I quickly put my shoes back on and started heading down the stairs. Walking towards the door I'm wiping my tears, Miles blocks my path.
"Woah woah! Where are you going?" He asks with a concerned look on his face, his hands falling to my shoulders. "Out." I reply while sniffling trying to push past him.
"Um okay, when are you coming back?" He lets go of me, now following me out the door. "I don't know..like..tomorrow? Sunday maybe?" I continue to walk away from him to my car. "Tell me where in case you get black out drunk again and need me to pick you up." He scoffs grabbing onto my wrist.
"You know what Miles? You won't have to worry about me anymore! I won't bother you. It's clear I make you want to leave and you hate me so I'll just leave you alone okay?! Is that what you wa-"
He cuts me off by pressing his lips against mine. It was soft and quick, like he was trying to shut me up and this was the first thing he thought of. He lets go of my wrist and stands up straight looking at me sternly. My cheeks are burning red as I attempt to say something but I can't seem to speak, like there's no air in my lungs.
I lean up against my car door for a moment staring at my feet trying to decide whether to leave or not. I finally look up at him, his head in staring at my feet too. His hands are in his pockets and he's biting his bottom lip nervously. I smile up at him.
"Hey..I'll be back in a little while. I promise I won't make you pick me up this time. Want me to grab you something?" I softly smile, hoping he won't hate me. He shakes his head no with a small smile on his face before letting me get into his car. He watches me drive off before heading back inside.
'29 days..' I whisper to myself as I head into the nearest town, smiling to myself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This was extremely rushed so my apologies if it wasn't as great as one of my last chapters ! I promise the next chapter will b better and have more of a plot than this one. Hope you guys liked this and r excited for the next chapter!
Y/N groaned as her phone alarm went off and hit snooze for the fifth time. She reached her hand out, head facing away and resting on her pillow, fumbling for her phone to turn off the incessant sound. Before she could shut it off, the noise stopped. Y/N turned her head slightly to see a large, dark figure in the corner of her eye. She turned her head fully to see her bodyguard with a frown on his face as he shut her alarm off.
“Your alarm, it’s annoying,” Bucky grumbled. “You should get up anyways, busy schedule today.” He walked out of the room before she could respond. Super soldier hearing was no joke if he was able to hear her alarm from his bedroom down the hall. Y/N sighed as her face planted into the pillow.
She was not looking forward to the events planned out for the day. During the day, there was a slew of interviews she had, back to back, and at night, a gala she was being forced to attend by her father.
Being the daughter of a wealthy tech tycoon had its perks for sure, but Y/N did not consider all of the press she did as a part of them. She never liked being in the spotlight but was forced to be, a birthright she had. Growing up with her dad, she’d developed a fascination for tinkering with computers, game consoles, and everything in-between. She spent a lot, practically all of her free time, with her dad when her mom had passed away. Her dad ended up throwing himself into his life’s work and she worked with him closely in the beginning, but slowly started to drift apart from him as she started to make a name for herself.
Earlier that week, her dad had sent her a text, informing her that a big announcement would be made at the gala. Big parties and large crowds weren’t really her thing, but it seemed like she didn’t have the option to avoid this one.
She got ready for the day, walking down to her kitchen to see her bodyguard, Bucky, sitting at the table, reading a book. As soon as he heard her come down the steps, he stood up and put his book away.
“C’mon, we’re already running late,” he mumbled, making his way to the door. Y/N rolled her eyes in response, grabbing a granola bar as she briskly followed behind him.
When her dad became a big name in the world of tech, the last thing Y/N thought she needed was a bodyguard, but her dad felt otherwise. It took one, very close call, of her almost getting mugged for her dad to immediately assign a personal bodyguard for her. She insisted that it was unnecessary, seeing that she was a fully grown adult, but her dad refused, as he was the one paying for Bucky’s salary.
Bucky had always been rather closed off since the beginning, and not much had changed since he was first assigned to her a little over a year ago. He kept their relationship very professional, only speaking when necessary and leaving the room whenever he wasn’t needed. She had tried to get him to open up more, learn about his past, but he always shut her questions down by either ignoring her or changing the topic to discussing something work-related. He was an enigma to her, which only left her wanting to solve the mystery that was James Bucky Barnes but couldn’t seem to crack the code.
Her first two interviews went smoothly, exactly what she was used to. A couple of questions about her current projects at work, some about her dad sprinkled in, and what she had planned for the future. It was a format she was used to and had come to appreciate, not exactly enjoying being the center of attention. During her last interview, however, she was caught off guard by one of the last questions she was asked.
“I know this might be an awkward question to ask, but I just have to! The people want to know: do you think your dad’s ever going to return to the dating pool?”
Y/N choked on her saliva. She knew her dad was an attractive man, seeing posts on social media of people fawning over him. Although she found it to be very weird and uncomfortable, she just brushed it all aside, not wanting to think about it as it only led to her thinking about the loss of her mom, a sore spot for her.
Y/N cleared her throat and forced out a chuckle. “I think that’s a question only he can answer, I don’t always know what’s going on in that crazy head of his.”
The interviewer laughed and proceeded to transition into the next segment. Y/N quickly thanked the interviewer and left, Bucky swiftly following behind. He had a feeling that something was off, as Y/N would typically stay behind to chat with the interviewer, crew members, even the service staff, whenever she finished an interview. It was always something he admired about her, how down to earth she remained, despite all of the privileges she had. She went out of her way to thank everyone on set, no matter how small their role might seem. He always told the drivers to pull the car up a little later than originally planned, just so she would have the extra time to talk.
Y/N pushed the doors open, only to find an empty street. She turned around and gave Bucky a curious look.
“Sorry, the driver just texted me,” he said, as he sent a text to the driver, telling him to come now. “He’s running late.”
Y/N nodded and leaned against the wall, looking down to fiddle with her hands. Bucky leaned against the opposite wall, facing her, his arms crossed over his chest.
“You okay?”
Y/N looked up at Bucky to find a gentle look in his eyes, slightly taken aback at the sight. She always found herself drawn to his piercing blue eyes, but they usually had a colder glint to them. This was a look she’d never seen before.
“Yeah, ‘m fine,” she replied, averting her gaze down as she felt her cheeks flush at the sight of Bucky’s soft gaze.
The car arrived, cutting off Bucky’s train of thought as he was thinking of what to say to her. For a moment he debated on continuing the conversation in the car but figured she already had a long night ahead of her and didn’t want to push any further.
After a quick pit stop back to Y/N’s place, allowing her to change into an evening gown, the car headed to the venue of the gala. Bucky got out of the car before her, walking around to the other side to open her door. Before she stepped out, Y/N took a deep breath in and exhaled, plastering a fake smile on her face as a surge of flashing lights from cameras greeted her. Bucky watched, seeing her seamlessly transform from Y/N, the girl who needed to set a million alarms before actually waking up, to Y/N, tech extraordinaire, one of the most powerful people in the tech world.
Once they were inside the venue, Bucky stuck to his usual routine. Scope out the exits, look for any potential threats, and make sure Y/N was in his eyesight. Bucky kept close by but also kept his distance. He wanted to make sure that he gave her enough space whenever they were out, knowing that having him around was her dad’s idea and that she wasn’t too fond of having security detail in the first place. So he did everything he could to make himself blend in with the crowd, allowing her to roam freely, only following her when she moved out of his line of vision.
Y/N walked around, not knowing a single soul but making polite small talk with the rest of the guests. She became accustomed to knowing how to act at these types of events over the span of her adult life. Food, drinks, more food, home. Crowds made her uneasy, but she always felt calmer when she saw Bucky in her peripheral vision. Y/N would never admit it out loud, but over the last year, he had become a constant source of relief at these public events. Just knowing that he was there if she felt uncomfortable, unsafe, or wanted to leave early made her public outings much more bearable.
“Hey, sweetie! I’m so glad you made it.” Y/N turned around at the sound of her dad’s voice and smiled, moving in to hug him.
“Yeah well, you said you had a big announcement, so I figured I’d stop by,” she joked, eliciting a chuckle from her dad as they pulled away from each other.
“I’m about to make it now,” he started, placing his hands on Y/N’s shoulders. “And I was wondering if you could join me on stage for it? I know that’s not your thing, but it would mean so much to me, Y/N.”
While she absolutely hated the idea of having to stand in front of thousands of people, she reluctantly nodded. Y/N and her dad had slowly grown apart the past several years, only talking a couple times a month to catch up. With both of their busy schedules, they always seemed to miss each other. Despite their growing apart, she would do anything for her dad, especially if it meant so much to him.
Bucky slowly followed behind, as Y/N and her dad walked up to the stage. Y/N glanced behind her to give a slight smile to Bucky, to which he nodded back. He stood backstage, watching them from behind the curtains.
“Hi everyone, thanks so much for coming out tonight,” Y/N’s dad spoke into the mic. She was standing beside him, hands clasped in front of her, trying to look calm and not totally anxious.
“Since the success of my brand, people have said that I am a man who has everything. And I definitely have a lot to be thankful for, my company, my friends, and most importantly, my daughter.” Her dad extended a hand out to point to Y/N and the crowd cheered. Bucky couldn’t help the smile that formed on his lips. Despite his brooding attitude, he had come to grow fond of Y/N, being able to see her for who she truly was. She was smart, witty, and had a heart of gold.
“The only thing I’ve been missing,” her dad looks down at the ground for a second, before looking back out at the crowd. “Is someone to share it all with.” Y/N’s smile faltered and felt her stomach drop. She couldn’t fully register the words coming out of her dad’s mouth.
“After Sarah, my wife had passed, I didn’t think I would be able to love again. Until I met Alyssa.” Y/N was frozen in place upon hearing her dad’s confession. She’d never heard of anyone named Alyssa during any of their catch-up calls and now he was saying he loved her? Y/N quickly turned as a woman walked out on stage. The woman walked over to her dad and he wrapped one of his arms around her waist before speaking.
“Now I feel complete, now I have everything.” He pulled Y/N to him and wrapped his other arm around her shoulders, smiling for the cameras ahead. There were a lot of strategies Y/N had devised over the years to deal with potential unexpected and uncomfortable situations in a composed manner to avoid having a PR nightmare.
She didn’t have one for this.
Tearing herself from her dad’s hold, she ran off stage, heading towards the exit that led to the outside. Y/N took in the fresh air, trying to stop her hyperventilating. It wasn’t working. Her chest felt tight as she began gasping for air, struggling to take in oxygen.
She was having a panic attack. It was nothing she hadn’t experienced before, but it had been so long since she’d had one. The last time she remembered, was at her mom’s funeral.
Her mom. Her dad. Alyssa.
Her thoughts were pushed aside as her vision blurred, her eyes swelling up with tears. Y/N felt like she had no control over her body and shut her eyes, allowing the panic to consume her.
Then, a firm, but gentle, warm feeling in her hands.
Y/N blinked her eyes open to reveal Bucky, standing in front of her. She looked down and saw that it was his hands in hers, holding them tight.
“Can you breathe for me, honey?”
His voice came out in a soft whisper, accompanied by the warmest and welcoming smile. She shook her head, unable to control her quick and rapid breaths. Bucky squeezed her hands a little tighter, rubbing his thumb in small circles on the back of her hand.
“Yes you can, just breathe with me, okay?”
He started to breathe in and out slowly and eventually, she was able to follow his lead, deciding to focus on his eyes. There was that look from before the ride to the gala, the gentle look in his eyes. She’d always felt that his blue eyes reminded her of stormy seas, but now, now they made her think of the calmness of the ocean in the early morning, waves crashing softly on the shores.
As she regained her composure, she realized she’d been staring into Bucky’s eyes for, probably, far too long. Bucky felt her tight grip on his hands loosen and reluctantly let go of her hands. He immediately missed the softness of her hands and how small they were in comparison to his much larger, calloused, hands.
“T- Thank you,” she stuttered out, her gaze locked on the ground, as she placed her hands to her sides.
“It’s no problem. I get them too,” he replied. She looked up at him as he clarified. “Panic attacks. PTSD from serving overseas.”
Y/N face drops, her stomach churning at the thought that Bucky had ever experienced panic like she had. She returned her gaze to the ground as a silence washed over them.
“He didn’t tell me about her,” she spoke in a quiet voice. “Never brought her up once. But I guess she must be pretty special for him to do all of this.”
Bucky stood a couple steps in front of her, seeing teardrops fall from her face. She lifted her head up to wipe away her tears, her hands shaking from anxiety. Y/N placed her hands on her face and started to sob.
She was slightly hurt by the idea of her dad loving any other woman than her mom but knew that he’d have to move on eventually. What hurt her the most was the fact that he didn’t tell her, not until they were on stage, standing before a crowd of people. It was too much for her to handle and she reached her breaking point.
Bucky’s heart dropped at the sight. He cautiously stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her tightly. Something his PTSD had taught him was how pressure from a hug could help relax the nervous system and calm him down. He held her firmly in his arms until he felt her breathing slow. She looked up at him, remaining in his embrace, her eyes glassy from crying, nose red and sniffly. Bucky felt his heart skip a beat and immediately pushed the thought away.
“You wanna leave, honey?”
She nodded in response, staying in his arms for just a second longer before pulling away. Y/N longed for his warm touch, feeling like a child who had their security blanket taken away. It didn’t help that it was also cold outside, sending a chill down her spine.
Bucky noticed and shrugged his suit jacket off to wrap around her shoulders. She beamed a smile at him and he smiled back.
The pair walked around the outside of the venue to find the car when they ran into a mob of paparazzi, shouting questions at Y/N about her sudden exit. Like a reflex, she grabbed hold of Bucky’s hand and he gave her a comforting squeeze as he cleared a path towards the car.
Bucky and Y/N were sat next to each other in the car, which was not the typical seating arrangement they usually had, usually sitting on opposite ends of the car. But Y/N hadn’t let go of his hand, not quite ready to separate herself from his warmth. Bucky had absolutely no problem with that, mindlessly rubbing his thumb against the back of her hand. She felt safe. She always felt safe with Bucky around.
Y/N felt her eyelids become heavy, struggling to keep them open. She was exhausted from her long day, and her panic attack had taken most of her energy away.
Bucky felt a weight on his shoulder and turned his head slightly to see Y/N’s head resting there. He felt a warmth rush to his cheeks and smiled, resting his head on top of hers.
“Thank you for tonight, Bucky,” she mumbled, keeping her eyes closed. “You always make me feel so safe.”
Bucky felt a surge of tenderness rush through him. That was all he ever wanted to do. He wanted to keep her safe. He kissed her forehead, causing her to snuggle closer to him.
“Of course, honey. I’m here, always.”
I was tagged by @wintercrushes to list my top nine movies, so here we go.
In no particular order:
Tumblr media
As a little girl, I found Mulan deeply empowering on a fundamental level. Almost every movie I saw had a man at the center of it, or as the protector, while women were generally either rewards for their bravery and/or damsels in distress. Mulan was brave, strong, adorably awkward, and willing to risk everything for her family. Seeing a woman be incredible like that, even if she had to impersonate a man, made me feel like I could be too. Also I was awkward as well, and it was nice to feel like that wouldn't stop me from being a hero if I wanted to be. I credit Mulan and Captain Janeway for making me feel that being a woman was a beautiful thing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Road to El Dorado was also a meaningful movie for me as a child, but that was related, I believe, to my bisexual identity. Miguel and Tulio were originally meant to be a couple, and I found their relationship deeply compelling, far more than most straight relationships. I was also completely in love with Chel. Dem curves. Plus it was just fun, with amusing dialogue and excellent music. It remains one of my absolute favorite movies.
Tumblr media
Another movie I watched as a child which I believe I found compelling because of my queer identity. Though I didn't realize it at the time, I think on a deep level I understood all the queer subtext in Interview With The Vampire, and, though it was darker and sadder than I tended to enjoy, I was fascinated by and in love with Louis and Lestat's relationship. I haven't seen it in many years, though, and I would very much like to watch it again.
Tumblr media
While I don't know how objectively good of a movie Independence Day is, it's one of my favorites that my dad and I watched all the time when I was a kid, and every 4th of July we put it on. We can quote the whole thing. I think I'll always have a soft spot for it.
Tumblr media
Did the novel deserve better? Absolutely. This adaptation didn't do it justice at all. Regardless, World War Z remains one of my favorite movies, and is definitely my favorite zombie movie. Regrettably, I can't explain why, I just know that every time I watch it I enjoy myself greatly.
I think that Cabin in the Woods is absolutely excellent. Hilarious, surreal, an excellent parody, and entirely unique, this movie is a delight for me from beginning to end.
Tumblr media
While this movie, as with the whole series, did not do Gene Roddenberry's vision for Star Trek justice, being far more about action and war, instead of a thoughtful commentary on social issues delivered through a vehicle of exploration of space and attempts to understand and connect with other cultures, it's still a delight to me. I adore the relationship between Spock and Kirk. In truth I find all the characters interesting and enjoyable to watch, though I didn't care at all for the relationship between Spock and Uhura. But I find most straight relationships to be a bit of a turn off and always have, so I don't think my opinion is necessarily rational here.
Tumblr media
This list would not be complete without Ever After, my favorite of the very few straight romance movies that I actually enjoy. Drew Barrymore's Danielle is an emotionally strong bookworm whom I absolutely adore, and Henry, despite his flaws, draws me as well. I love them together. Why that is, exactly, is not something I can fully explain. But I do.
Tumblr media
I think that The Lion King 2 is vastly underrated. Getting to see Simba as King, and all the ways his childhood trauma impacted his behavior, was fascinating. I also adored Kiara, and, as I am a sucker for redemption arcs, ESPECIALLY those that stem from overcoming poor parenting, watching Kovu shake off his mother's toxic influence, and become the kind lion that he is on the inside, was deeply meaningful for me, as I was facing the same challenges. And there was something very sweet about the two of them finding themselves in each other.
I realize that a lot of these are movies that were influential to me as a child, and I think that's likely because I much prefer television shows over movies as an adult. I like the long form nature of them, and getting to see people change in a gradual way that feels more realistic and requires fewer montages, fun though those may be (looking at you, "I'll Make A Man Out Of You") is much more appealing to me.
You arrive there, waiting for them to open the doors when a man approaches you wearing a yellow jacket labelled “security”.
“Hello ma’am, is your name y/n y/l/n?” He askes.
“Uhh yes? Did I do something wrong?” You reply with a confused look on your face.
“No ma’am. I was just asked to let you in first to allow you any seat you would like.” He says.
“Oh...okay cool..thank you?” You say still seeming fairly confused.
You are assuming this has something to do with Florence because what else would it be. You follow the man through the doors to an empty room filled with seating. You feel almost a little awkward walking down the aisle alone with nobody else there. You pick a seat in the front row because well...why wouldn’t you? And just scroll through your phone for a little in anticipation of the panel starting soon. After about five minutes has passed, you hear the doors behind you open and people flood in filling the seats at an extremely fast pace.
The crowd begins to quiet down a little and you look up to see the host walking out on stage. He begins his introduction and then proceeds to announce the celebrities that would be up on stage today. He starts with announcing Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, to then Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, followed by Scarlett Johansson, Rachel Weisz, David Harbour and finally Florence Pugh. When her name is announced and she walks out on stage you can feel butterflies in your stomach. She is waving one hand to all the fans while scanning the crowd looking for you. The two of you lock eyes and the biggest smile comes across her face.
The panel started and the actors are cracking up everyone in the room with behind-the-scenes stories of their respective shows and movies. About halfway through, your phone buzzes, you look down to see Florence texted you while she was on stage.
“Come to the side of the stage when we walk off at the end ;)”
A small grin creeps across your face when you see the winky face at the end of the text. You look up and see her looking at you and she gives you a small smile before looking away. You couldn’t help but wonder what she had planned, maybe she just wanted to say hi before leaving because today is her last day at the convention. Or maybe she wanted to grab a bite to eat together after the panel. Either way, you were feeling excited yet nervous because you still had about 30 minutes to go before you got to talk to her again.
Those 30 minutes dragged out to be about 45 but it felt like 10 hours had passed. Although you watch online interviews with these actors all the time and they fly by like nothing, the anticipation of meeting up with Flo after made everything feel like it was moving in slow motion. Everyone is saying their goodbyes and they begin to walk off stage, you immediately get up and start walking the opposite way of the crowd who was heading for the exits. You get close to the gate that separates the crowd from the celebrities when security stops you. As you are about to start explaining you hear a familiar accent scream out
“Oh no! My bad! She’s with me!! Let her through!”
The security guard opens the gate for you and you’re greeted with open arms, you go into hug Florence as she embraced you tightly.
“Ah, it’s so good to see you again love! Did you enjoy the show?” She asks.
“I did! It was honestly so surreal to see all of you out in front of me when I am usually watching you through my TV.” You reply.
“That’s great to hear. Well, I was just wondering if you would like to go out for a bite to eat with me and some friends?”
“Some friends? Y-yeah sure.”
“Wonderful! Want to walk back to the hotel with me so I can change and then we can head to the restaurant together too?” She asks.
“Yes for sure, sounds good, let’s go.”
The two of you walk back to your hotel and go up to Florence’s room.
“Alright love, I’ll only be a second, make yourself at home.” She says.
You sit down on the couch that is facing her room as she walks in to get changed. She closes the door behind her but not all the way. She starts talking loudly to you from her room while she is changing telling you about how much you are going to like her friends when you meet them. As she is talking to you, you are scrolling through Instagram. You start to respond and lift your head to look up in the direction of her room when you realize you could see her changing by the reflection in her mirror. You quickly stand up and walk over to the window as if you are looking out at the cars moving below.
“Sorry, what did you say I missed the end there,” she says as she is walking out into the living room and putting on her earrings.
“Oh- uh- just that I am looking forward to meeting them...your friends.” You say as you feel the red rushing to your cheeks.
“I think you’ll get along very well...as if you already know them all!” She says.
The two of you walk out of the hotel and get into a car waiting for you outside. The car takes you to a small pub about 15 minutes away. On the way, Florence explained that one of her friends knew the owner of the pub and he agreed to close it down for a couple of hours because of fans and paparazzi. The two of you jump out of the car and walk through the door when all of a sudden you hear her friends call over to her.
“Florence! So glad you finally showed up! Lizzie said we had to wait to order for you to show so get over here I am starving!” You hear a familiar voice say.
Holy crap was that Anthony Mackie!? You look up and your eyes widen more than they ever have before. You turn and look at Florence…
“Oh, so the “friends” you invited me out to lunch with are the Avengers?” You say quietly.
“Uhh yeah, I thought you would have guessed that?” She says with a chuckle. Florence thinks you look absolutely adorable all flustered and starstruck by everyone sitting at the table.
The two of you walk towards the table with you looking the most nervous you have ever been. At this point, you are just hoping your face isn’t all red.
“So, you’re the one that Florence hasn’t stopped talking about all morning?”
You look up to see Scarlett Johansson addressing you with one eyebrow raised.
“Uh aha yeah I guess, my name is y/n.” You reply.
“HI Y/N! IT IS REALLY GREAT TO MEET YOU AND I REALLY WOULD LOVE TO GET TO KNOW YOU BUT CAN WE ORDER FOOD BEFORE WE START THE SMALL TALK?” Sebastian announces with a smile.
You chuckle and take your seat in between Florence and Lizzie and across from Scarlett. Once everybody has ordered you start talking to Scarlett and Lizzie.
“So y/n, I hear the two of you had a fun time last night? Scarlett says with a smirk on her face.
You turn and look at Florence as her eyes widen and look right at her starring her down.
“Aha yeah, we had a great time actually! I wish it didn’t have to end but hopefully, we can do something like that again sometime soon.” You reply.
“How about tonight?” Lizzie asks. “But with us included too? I have had a very long week and I wouldn’t mind some girl time!”
Florence looks at you and says “You don’t have to if you don’t want to of course, but I would love to have you over again”.
“I would literally be crazy to turn that down.” You say.
They all laugh.
“Ok, it’s a date!” Scarlett responds.
You all get your food and continue to have what felt like the most amazing moment of your life, getting to talk with people you never thought you’d meet and share stories, and laughs. Florence generously pays for your meal and takes you back to the hotel afterwards.
“Well, that was the most amazing experience...ever!” You say with a big smile as you are hopping on the elevator.
“Aha, I am glad you had so much fun! I have to take a meeting with some people from work but I am looking forward to seeing you again later tonight.” She says.
“Me too, thanks so much again for lunch. Is there anything I can bring tonight?” You ask.
“Nothing at all! I will get someone to pick us up some food and drinks and bring them to my place.”
“Okay great! What time should I come down at?”
“The girls are coming around 6, why don’t you come a bit earlier?” Florence says with a wink.
“Sounds good. See you then!” you say as she is stepping off the elevator.
You are freaking out a little bit internally but realize quickly that you should probably go shower and change so that takes your mind off the fact that you are about to have the best night of your life.
You let out a breath of relief as you dropped the last brown box into the corner of the room. How you managed to own this much stuff, you’d never know. Glanced around the living room, it was difficult to decide where to begin. After much contemplation, you huffed and picked up the pizza catalogue, deciding to call it a day.
It was unbearable to leave the house in the mess that it was. On the other hand, your right hip wailed in agony every time you bent down. Lacking the much-needed support of friends or family, you had no option but to suck it up and unpack… but that can wait till tomorrow.
Fishing out just the necessities for the night, you climbed up the stairs and headed into the master bedroom. Massive house for one person, you noted. You did insist that an apartment would suffice but Tony was a stickler for rules.
All Stark employees have to be residents of a Stark-Jensen neighbourhood.
Before getting the job, you weren’t even aware that “Stark-Jensen” neighbourhoods were a thing; it was a term coined by the tech company itself, referring to neighbourhoods that are protected by Stark-Jensen technology. The crime rate in these neighbourhoods are always startlingly low, the odd criminal or two being from inside the community itself. All things considered, how could you say no to free housing?
Sure, the security measures assured that you never had to worry, but it also made you wonder why they were there in the first place. This place was as secure as the Stark Tower; why? You tried not to ask too many questions, afraid of getting on Tony’s bad side. Besides, it isn’t characteristic of him to give you a straight answer anyway.
Life is good, your most harrowing concern at the moment being that your new place had no curtains. It had been a long time since things were calm and you were just recognizing that your days had been free of storms for some time now. Counting your blessings for the second time that night, you stepped into the shower and reminded yourself of all the things to be grateful for.
To say you were in a good mood was an understatement. You finished your night routine right as the pizza was delivered and excitedly skipped down. No one told you how fun living alone was but they didn’t need to - you quickly found that independence is a glorious necessity in everyone’s life.
Jake stood bewildered at your person throwing the door open. He gripped the pizza box tight to ensure he didn’t drop it and continued to look at you like you had grown a third head. He never was very good with his words, but your beauty truly inhibited his ability to think.
“Hi?” you asked.
“Hey, I-I’m your neighbour, Jake. Saw that you were moving in and I came to ask if you need any help.”
“Oh,” you contemplated, looking past him. “Where’s the pizza person?”
“I paid for it. Housewarming gift?” he  said like a question and handed it over.
You received the warm box and waited for him to say something as he fiddled with his hands. His smile looks so familiar but you couldn’t place your finger on it.
“So…Do you need help?” He looked up right at the end. You grinned at how shy he was.
“I would really appreciate the help tomorrow,” you replied casually.
“Oh, so… I’ll come by tomorrow morning?” He looked hopeful, as if you were the one handing him the olive branch. You took a once-over of his build, sure that he would come handy when your hip gives up again and nodded in response.
He nodded back slowly and turned around to leave, but seeing him at your doorstep felt eerily similar to a puppy left out in the rain.
“I don’t think I can finish this pizza alone,” you called out. He turned around, a glint of happiness apparent in the shine of his eyes.
“Do you have time to help me with this right now?” It was your turn to look hopeful and you really hoped this cutie took the bait.
He did.
You couldn’t ignore the nagging at the back of your head that you had seen him somewhere. You also couldn’t dismiss the fact that dinner together was just a little awkward. The conversation started off with small talk, and it didn’t take a genius to tell that neither of you enjoyed it. Luckily, it shifted to talks about the neighbourhood and your old job. After that, the words flowed easily, the two of you bonding like you had known each other forever. Although it was smooth sailing, you couldn’t help but wonder how he knows so much about the neighbourhood security measures. When he mentioned that he had lived there for about 6 years, you chalked it up to a simple accumulation of knowledge he must’ve acquired from being around for so long.
“So everyone who lives around here works for Stark-Jensen, right?” you questioned, trailing your finger on the rim of your second wine glass for the night.
“Yeah, for the most part. Though it’s hard to tell who works for who.”
You chuckled in agreement.
“What is it with that? I mean, I work for Stark, and my colleagues, too… but exclusively for Stark. Jensen does exist right?”
“Yeah,” he snickered, “He does. Stark makes the tech and Jensen does the coding.”
“So they’re a two-man team, but Tony’s the face of the company? Seems sort of unfair,” you muttered, quirking your brow a little.
Jake smiled at your comment, glanced at his hands and looked back up at you.
“Maybe he wants it to be that way.” He nudged his glasses up and took a little sip of his wine while peering at you.
You cocked your head to the side and considered the information. Your head was hazy and you needed to stop drinking; alcohol and cute guys are not a good mix.
“Wait.” You squinted at him.
“Does that mean you’re a Stark-Jensen employee?”
He let out a chortle and took your glass from you.
“Hey, hey I want that back!” you whined, not even caring that you’re embarrassing yourself.
“I think that’s enough for today.” He gently helped you up, waiting for you to move.
“I can usually handle my liquor,” you promised, clinging onto his broad form for support.
He started moving you up to your lone mattress in the corner of your room, softly laying you down.
“Jake,” you caught his arm. “You didn’t answer the question. Do you work for Stark-Jensen?”
“Yeah, something like that.”
You pouted at his answer, still gripping his wrist like you owned him. He tenderly pried your fingers off him and placed them on your belly.
“See you tomorrow,” he mumbled as he left your room. You drifted asleep easily, blissfully unaware of how you’d never be able to live down the humiliation of your drunken stupor.
The next day, you hoped Jake wouldn’t show up. It would save you from the burning heat that crept up your neck every time you recalled the night before.
Unfortunately, Jake had found it way too amusing an opportunity to tease you, showing up at your doorstep at 10 AM on the dot.
The day went on without a hitch, the conversation picking up easily from where you left off. Jake found it endearing when you groaned at the mention of your state, only after three glasses of wine. The question of his employment never crossed your mind again, both of you having way too much fun unpacking. You felt ten times better knowing that your neighbour was a loveable, single, hunky nerd; it made the stress of settling in that much better.
Of course, like all good things, the weekend came to an end. Monday morning, you eagerly prepped yourself for a new week at the office. Being Tony’s right hand took five rounds of interviews as well as background checks into every living relative you had. After the turbulent hiring process, you found that the job was not any easier. Luckily, the move had you feeling more thankful about being in sync with all the Stark tech; with FRIDAY managing your house and personal appointments, it was easier to keep track of Tony’s day.
You stepped out of the house and shielded your eyes from the beautiful day. Just then, your lovely new friend stepped onto his porch wearing casual attire.
“Have fun at work!” he called after you.
“Thanks! Are you going to work?”
“Yes, I am.” You took in his outfit one more time, chuckling as you wondered what job would pay enough to live here while dressed in sweats.
“Well, in case I don’t see ya’... Good afternoon, good evening and good night!” you exclaim loudly.
Jake giggled like a schoolboy and waved goodbye before ducking into his car.
Tony’s 10 AM meeting has been pushed to 11 AM, Miss L/N.
“No, no, that won’t do! He has another meeting at 12 PM, the timing will clash. FRIDAY, who was he supposed to meet at 10 AM?”
Speaking to the AI felt more like talking to yourself, but with time, you assured yourself that it would look as cool as Stark when handling your things.
He’s meeting Mr Jensen, the co-founder of Stark-Jensen. I believe you have not met him yet.
“Yeah, I haven’t. Could you call him for me, FRIDAY?”
Sorry Miss L/N, Mr Jensen’s phone is switched off. He has already notified Tony of the change in plans.
“What an asshole,” you grumbled.
On the contrary, I think you would like Mr Jensen, Miss L/N.
“You can just call me Y/N, FRIDAY. Oh, and, send out a notification to all of today’s meeting hosts and tell them to push it by one hour. If they complain, send them my number to take up any problems they have.”
It’ll be done by the time you reach your office.
“Thank you,” you smiled and pulled into your parking spot, right beside Tony’s.
It was hard to imagine what would’ve happened today if Tony didn’t give you access to FRIDAY. Calling each meeting host and personally asking them to push their meetings seemed like a tedious and mind-bending task. And frankly, you didn’t ever look forward to talking to Karen’s. But now, you would never have to know; FRIDAY was an absolute godsend.
You stepped onto the other side of security clearance just as the clock struck 9 AM. Strutting up to your office, you made a mental checklist of everything you need to do during the day. Usually, Tony didn’t require you to sit in for his meetings. He has a different set of assistants for note-taking purposes.
Too consumed by your thoughts, you didn’t notice the large picture of Jake and Tony sitting side by side on the wall beside the elevators. You also didn’t notice Jake’s smirk as he passed by you with ease. He would’ve stopped to say hi, but he knew that you didn’t realize who he was yet. Now he just had to figure out a way to get you to show up to his and Tony’s meeting and give you the heart attack of a lifetime.
Beep, beep.
The Stark-watch buzzed on your wrist, letting you know that Tony was calling for you. You had barely even stepped into the elevator and he was already whining like a baby.
You shook your head and stepped into the doorframe of his lab.
“Come here!” his voice called from the far end of a lab. Your suspicions of him being under the work table were confirmed when he wheeled out on his back and handed you a wrench.
“Do me a favour. Tighten this for me?”
He handed you the arm of an Iron Man suit, what you assumed was his latest mark. He already lived at the lab as it was, you wondered how he ever had time for Pepper.
“Come on, put your arm into it L/N! You know what, you’re distracted, give it here.”
“Did you call me here to tighten your screws?” You shifted your weight onto one leg and crossed your arms. It was sassy of you, but Tony’s assistant needs to have some backbone, famously said by Rhodey.
“Well, you know me, screws always loose.” He knocked on his head and chuckled at his own joke. You sighed and turned to walk out.
“I need you to sit in for my 11 o’clock. And cancel everything else today.”
You gasped and turned again, marching to where he was lying down.
“Tony Stark, you have no regard for anyone’s time! I already pushed everything back by one hour because of your buddy Jensen and now you’re asking me to cancel everything?”
“I know, and I agree. I wish I could go to the mind-numbing meetings with corporate clowns, but I want to show you and Jensen something cool.”
He stopped fiddling with his toy just long enough to glance at you.
You sighed and called for FRIDAY, groaning for the umpteenth time since that morning. Why were you acting like this was the first time he’s done this? It was probably your lack of energy from moving. You couldn’t wait to get home and maybe call Jake over for dinner. Now that you considered this possibility, time seemed to pass slower, but at least there was something worthwhile to look forward to.
When 10:55 rolled around, you were sitting in Tony’s lab, patiently waiting as Tony set up his latest invention for demonstration.
“Where’s your buddy?” you asked, checking your watch for the time again.
“On his way,” he replied without turning away from his work.
He paused and took a step back to admire his work before facing you.
“You haven’t met Jake, have you?”
“Jake?”
Right on cue, Jake walked through the doors of the labs and you whipped around to find your grinning friend.
“Howdy neighbour,” Jake sneered.
“Oh, right. You live beside each other,” Tony muttered as he gathered some more things from his desk.
You shamelessly inhaled the pinewood and vanilla-infused scent of Jake as he sat down beside you. To have him so close to you was a dangerous thing, your cunt unknowingly clenching every time he moved his biceps.
“Stop making heart-eyes at him.”
You threw whatever was in your hand at Tony’s head, and it happened to be a pen. It narrowly missed as he ducked and doubled over in laughter at your embarrassment. The bastard took sick pleasure in it so he often made it a point to humiliate you, but it usually wasn’t in front of the co-CEO of the world’s largest tech company.
The rest of your time in that lab went on without any heart attacks - as far as anyone knew, the slick between your thighs doesn’t account for a ‘heart attack’, per se. You shouldn’t even be thinking about Jake like that. He was technically your boss too.
Tony dismissed you at lunch and told you to take the rest of the day off, much to your delight. You slid into your car and dropped your head onto the steering wheel.
You had barely moved into the neighbourhood and you’re already finding ways to be fired.
Tumblr media
~Time skip~
You sighed and laid back in the over-the-top maternity chair Jake got you for feeding. Your baby gurgled as curled his little fingers into his palm before knocking on your breast once. With a light chuckle, you cooed as the little bundle began falling asleep.
This was the only place in the house that had a sliver of sunlight gracing the inside of the house.
You could have outdoor privileges if you didn’t pull that little stunt.
Could you really blame yourself for trying to leave? How were you to know that it’s impossible to leave a Stark-Jensen neighbourhood?
Because it says “Stark-Jensen” in the name, you dumbass.
Fair enough.
You lost count of how many times you sigh on the daily, instead opting to count the number of times you’re able to hold off a mental breakdown. Today, you got the rare privilege of privacy, with Jake being gone to another one of Stark’s presentation.
You reminisced about the last time you sat in Tony’s lab and watched him explain his latest creation. Little did you know that the first time you sat with Jake in there would also be the last time you ever sat in there.
You gently placed the Jim in the cradle. Again, one of the many over-the-top investments made by Jake to ensure the baby got state-of-the-art care. The way Jensen had made you sit beside him as he put the contraption together almost had you lurching. But you didn’t want to wake the baby. The horridness of the memories cannot outweigh your will to keep Jimmy from crying.
“Look at it!”, Jake excitedly spun the box to show you. It must’ve cost an unreasonable amount of money - not that he couldn’t spare to spend the coin, but the purchase confirmed your worst suspicions; he was serious about this all.
Your eyes, puffy from the days of crying, were barely open. Yet you still nodded, figuring that if you put up with his enthusiasm now, he’ll let you go to sleep without raping you like he did every night.
Anyway, you were wrong.
When did everything go so wrong?; How?
You picked up your phone. Your eyes flickered between the only two contacts saved on it. Jake made sure you couldn’t do anything except call him or Tony.
You missed your ex-boss (who was always more of a friend to you). But, it was obvious that calling him wasn’t worth it and would rarely yield any fruitful conversation. Tony always spoke as if he were walking on glass around you and your words were always monitored and censored by Jake. It didn’t take long to figure that one out.
“I don’t know what happened, Tony, she’s just unhinged,” Jake explained over the phone. In the background, you struggled against the bonds that held you to his bedframe. You sobbed harder into your gag and tried to scream ‘help’. All that came out was a shriek.
“You hear her? She’s completely unfit to come into work… What happened? I don’t know man… She’s breaking down under all the stress. A few days of rest might do the trick. No, no, you don’t have to come down. I’ll take care of it.”
He ended the call and you went limp, pausing your hysteria. He smiled at you as if he hadn’t kidnapped you. As if he hadn’t just made Tony believe that you were off your rockers. As if he hadn’t just fucked you five times over the span of 48 hours.
He had planned every step of your entrapment to the letter and it was all going according to his plan.
You put your phone facedown on the dining table and walked back upstairs to your room. His room. Your room, too.
Never, you internally screamed.
Well, it’s too late to debate it.
You stood at the foot of your bed and traced the footboard. He took you countless amount of times on this bed and every instance held some clue that he was working up to what was happening now. You could see that now - but what was the point now?
You giggled as Jake pushed you onto his bed. Who knew this golden retriever could be so rough?
“Shhshshshhh” you slurred and Jake laughed in response.
“Tony’s not here, baby,” he replied, climbing on top of you.
“We’re not gonna get fired?”
“He can’t fire me, sweetheart.”
“Oh… yeah.” You frowned, remembering that your risqué relationship was only risky for you.
In your drunken haze, you didn’t realize Jake was rubbing his bulbous tip against your folds, gathering slick.
“Condom?”
“Don’t have,” Jake lied.
“Oh,” you hesitated.
“It’ll feel so good, baby.” He nuzzled his nose into the crook of your neck and sunk in before you had the chance to protest.
“Jakeeee,” you whined. Writhing under his grasp, you shook your head side-to-side as he vigorously fucked into you.
He abruptly stopped and pulled out. “What have I said about saying my name?”
“I’m sorry, daddy,” you sheepishly say.
“That’s right, slut. You’re gonna make me a daddy, right?” He pushed back in.
“Yeah, you are. Gonna make me a daddy, so call me daddy.”
The implication of his words flew right over your head in your drunken haze and blank mind. Any ounce of sense that you had left was being fucked out by his thick length.
“Gonna blow my load. Fill you tight cunt, not gonna last long.”
His words were broken with loud moans. He couldn’t think straight with your warm, wet pussy inviting him in over and over.
As you shook from an overwhelming orgasm, your pussy involuntarily clenched, causing Jake to lose any last bit of restraint he was holding onto. He pushed in as far as he could go as you flailed around. He pinned your arms down and pressed his mouth into yours, delivering a hot and heavy kiss that had you panting.
He pulled out, but the string of cum that followed made you blanch. You never were one for cum play. Still, you didn’t protest when Jake pushed everything back in with two fingers.
“Gotta’ make sure you’re full baby.”
You shake your head now, but again, what’s the point? It’s all done and dusted. Though, you should give yourself some credit. Even if you had realized earlier, it wouldn’t have made a difference. He would’ve realized that you knew before you could’ve even thought about escaping.
As you drifted asleep, you adjusted the volume of the baby monitor one last time and slumped into the fluffy pillows.
How do you wake up from dreams? Was it by pinching yourself? You couldn’t wake up from the nightmare that was your reality when you pinched yourself. You doubted that would work right now. You couldn’t recall how to open your eyes. Instead, you whimpered in your sleep, reliving the moment Jake finally revealed his ulterior motive
Tumblr media
“You did what?” Jake was seething, but the only indication of it was his clenching jaw and red face. His tone was the perfect embodiment of the calm before a storm.
“I know you aren’t happy… but Jake, you- you’re always talking about babies and a family. It was so overwhelming and I… I-I…” You were shivering now, unable to withstand the heat of his glare. You had never been on the receiving end of his anger. Hell, you had never even seen him angry.
“I didn’t have an abortion, Jake, for god’s sake stop looking at me like a killed a baby! Plan B is not a crime. I’m only even bringing this up because I started on birth control anyway. Plan B every time we have sex is just not practical or feasible.”
At this point, you could’ve been speaking to a wall. Jake still hadn’t said anything and you were beginning to wonder if he had even been listening.
“I can’t believe I didn’t notice,” he whispered, at last.
“What?”
“I watch you do everything, I can’t believe I didn’t know about the Plan B.”
“What… What are you saying?”
“I said,” Jake stood up, “I’ve basically been watching you 24/7. And I don’t know how I didn’t notice this.”
“What do you mean watching me?” Tears in your waterline were threatening to blur your vision but you blinked furiously in an attempt to keep looking Jake in the eyes.
 “You think FRIDAY works for you?”
Jake leisurely cracked each knuckle and took a step towards you. You took one back.
“Oh, now, don’t be like that.”
Tumblr media
You woke from your nightmare that was the boiling pot and jumped straight into the fire. Jake was already moving in and out of your channel, moaning about how he missed you too much.
You tried to adjust yourself but he caught your arms and pulled out just long enough to flip you onto your stomach.
When he pushed back in, the hopelessness of your life manifested as tears; it happens every once in a while.
Today, you had a new record: you were able to hold off a total of 7 breakdowns.
But, of course, that was right before he pinched you awake every time.
previous part
"This is the best birthday present I've ever gotten”, Spencer grins as you walk together through Griffith Observatory. It's already evening, but it doesn't feel like you've been here all day. Around every corner there is something different to discover, exhibits to see, new things to learn, and Spencer is almost like a child, so excited is he. He can't keep still and when you stop at an exhibit, he trips from one foot to the other.
"I'm glad you like it here”, you smile as you sit down at a table at the Café at the End of the Universe. You're glad he's enjoying the trip, even though you had to fly here for it. Los Angeles isn't exactly close to D.C., but you wanted to give him something he liked that you could experience together, and a visit to Griffith Observatory seemed fitting.
The view you have from your seat is breathtaking. Los Angeles is at your feet. It's a beautiful view for a beautiful day and you're glad you're here with Spencer. "What did you like best?"
He doesn't even have to think hard before he has an answer. "The Once and Future Griffith Observatory”, he grins, and you roll your eyes.
"But that's only because Leonard Nimoy narrates." You have to grin, too. Spencer is a little transparent, which makes him incredibly endearing.
For a few minutes, you sit together in silence, enjoying the last rays of sunlight on your skin. The silence between you is anything but awkward. Ever since the beginning of your friendship, you've been able to sit together without exchanging a word, enjoying the moment without it getting weird. And although the dynamic between you has changed a bit and you've grown closer lately, it hasn't changed.
"I know you're not into all that stuff”, he interrupts the silence at one point, and you avert your gaze from Los Angeles to look at him. He runs his hand through his hair so that it falls slightly into his forehead, and the reddish glow cast on him by the last rays of the sun makes him look so incredibly handsome that you have to swallow. "Did you like it, too?"
You nod vigorously. "I don't know much about it, but you showed me that the science of the stars can be fun even if you don't look completely behind it." You want to reach across the table and take his hand, but you don't dare. "And I think it's nice to be here with you."
You can't pinpoint exactly when your friendship changed. Since you started working at BAU, you had hit it off and become fast best friends, and you value his friendship very much. But lately you see him in a different light and you can sense that he feels the same, but neither dares to make the first move. Two idiots who have a crush on each other and don't want to admit it.
A few moments later, the sun disappears behind the horizon and Spencer gets up from his chair. "Come on, we have one more thing to do." Carefully, he pulls you from your seat and before you know where he's going, you're there. Even though it's Saturday night, there aren't many people at the observatory, so you can stand in front of a large telescope without waiting in line. "We've heard so much about the universe today, but I want to see the stars with you before we go."
You hesitate, but Spencer tells you to look first, so you take a peek through the telescope. Except for the bright stars, the view is pitch black and deep. A cluster of stars looks very familiar. "What constellation is that, Spence?", you ask, making room for him to take a look himself.
"That's the little bear”, he replies, letting you back up to the telescope so he can explain further and you can look at the stars. "In Greek mythology, the little bear is actually a son of Zeus and a nymph. Or rather, Zeus turned the child into a bear so that the bear wouldn't attack his mother, the nymph, who also became a bear." You look at Spencer. "And then Zeus hurled them both into the sky. Pretty unrealistic."
"I think it's very realistic for a Greek god to turn a mother and child into bears and then stick them in the sky as stars”, you grin, and he gives a short laugh. "Thank you for knowing such things. I find it interesting when you explain things." You smile at him and glance up at the starry sky again. "Do you want to look through here again? The view is phenomenal and breathtakingly beautiful."
"It is indeed”, Spencer replies without taking his eyes off you.
The look he gives you now is one of sadness and pain. You don't see it, but you feel it in your back as you make you both a cup of coffee each. As you turn and place the cup on the kitchen table in front of him, he averts his eyes.
The silence between you is unbearable and only then do you really realize how much everything has changed. How much you have changed. Sitting together in your kitchen in the middle of the night feels as forced as it actually is, but neither of you is ready to get started. For as confusing as the last time has been for you, you know full well that this conversation will either raise more questions than it clears up, or it will be goodbye. And you're not ready for the latter.
You put your hands around the warm cup and realize how cold you are, even though the heating is turned up. Goosebumps come over you and you try to shake the cold shiver off your back as inconspicuously as you can, but the small movement doesn't go unnoticed by Spencer. He looks at you, and as you meet his gaze, he no longer seems sad or pained. Spencer looks lost, and there's nothing you can do to get him out of it.
"What have you been up to for the last year?", he asks you quietly, taking a sip of his coffee.
"I've been here and there. Been working a lot”, you answer, and it's probably the only truth you can tell in the conversation. For the past year, you've really been working, around the clock, but you can't explain to him what exactly you've been doing. And you're also glad he's not asking.
"So you're a professor in between now?", you ask at one point, and he nods mutely.
"Yes, I have to take thirty days off for one hundred days that I work, and I'm teaching during that time."
"Do you enjoy it?", you ask, even though you know the answer. Spencer has always loved teaching other people and sharing his knowledge, which is why you've always secretly thought he'd enjoy teaching.
"Well, a lot of the students just come to listen, which is kind of a shame because the topics are really interesting. Luke said they just come to gawk at me, but I don't think so."
"You're the only professor who talks about crime and everything, but who's also been to prison. I can well imagine that a lot of young women find that very hot." You smile at him and he weakly returns it. When he doesn't respond to that, you keep talking. "I probably have no right to ask about it, but I'd like to know what you've experienced in prison." You take a sip of your coffee. "I can tell it's changed you a lot."
His fingers tighten a little around the cup as he answers. "Prison isn't the only thing that's changed me." To others, his comment would have certainly come off wrong, resentful and bitchy, but not to you. Spencer is simply telling the truth, and that's what the conversation is supposed to be about. You're supposed to be honest with each other, at least within a certain framework that allows you to be as honest as you can. "It really wasn't easy. I became friends with a former FBI agent - Calvin Shaw. He gave me tips on how to survive in prison. Which didn't help much. I tried to help a friend, his name was Luis, by telling a guard that he kept getting beat up by a certain gang, after which they almost killed me." It comes so easily to his lips, but his posture shows that this has not passed him by without a trace. His shoulders are tense and you fear the cup will break, he's clutching it so tightly. "I was supposed to help smuggle drugs in, but I refused, whereupon they beat me up in the laundry room and slit Luis' throat in front of me." He pauses for a moment, as if he needs to sort out his thoughts, and takes a deep breath.
"I wanted revenge, so I poisoned the drugs, hoping it would kill them. But they were just the distributors. Five people got poisoned by it, including Shaw." You can hear he's not proud of that, and your stomach tightens. His hands shake, which is why he lets go of the cup and folds them in his lap. "The jail got into lockdown, but Tara did a cognitive interview with me that didn't do much good. My trial was delayed, and I was really afraid I was going to die in jail. When Shaw and the others were released from the infirmary, Shaw got back at me. He knew I was responsible for the tainted drugs, and he tipped off the others that I was FBI. He said to me I wouldn't see it coming, but they didn't want to put me in solitary either. So I whittled down a knife and took Shaw's hand and stabbed myself to make it look like he did it."
Your gaze moves from his face to his legs, and there you see it. A small scar that you certainly wouldn't notice if you didn't know it was there. Tears well up in your eyes. Not even for a brief moment, did you doubt your decision to leave then, but now you wish you had stayed with him then. You would have helped him, stood by his side. You blink away a tear before it can run down your cheek. "And then?"
"Then at some point I was discharged. The team did everything they could to get me out of that hellhole, and for that I'm very grateful. Otherwise, I would have been murdered in there for sure." He shifts the cup of coffee from one hand to the other. "Look, I don't want you to disappear again. I really don't, but this can't go on like this either. We can't seem to stay away from each other, but we're just arguing and it's not doing either of us any good."
You have a few more questions about his time in prison, but you keep them to yourself.It's clear from him that the subject is closed for him, and you don't want to force it on him. So you just nod.  You wouldn't leave Spencer again for any amount of money. It nearly killed you the first time, and for sure you wouldn't survive it a second time. "What do you suggest?"
He purses his lips into a thin line and starts to tap his foot. "I don't know if I can forgive you for leaving then. It was too painful for that. But I think that maybe, somehow, we can get along. We might even become friends again."
"I'm sorry I left then, Spencer. And I don't expect you to forgive me, I have no right to, because after all, I'm the only one responsible for this situation here”, you confess, running your hand through your hair. A nervous gesture that you seem to have picked up from him. "I'm very grateful to you for not wanting me to leave, even though I've caused you so much pain. I don't know what I've done to deserve this, but I'll do everything I can so that we can live together to some extent. And I hope that someday we can be friends again."
A smile spreads across his face. "Thank you for being honest with me, Y/N. I think this conversation is good for both of us. And it was pretty overdue, don't you think?"
You tighten your mouth into a thin line. "Pretty much." You take the last sip of coffee before rinsing off both cups and putting them back on the top shelf. Your shirt slides up a little, exposing the tattoo on your ribcage.
"You have a tattoo?", asks Spencer as you sit back down. "What did you get?"
You hesitate. "Nothing in particular. Just a saying I picked up a while back."
To this, Spencer doesn't reply, and silence returns. Only this time, it's not as stifling as it was at the beginning of your conversation.
"I should go”, Spencer says eventually, and stands up. He puts on the rest of his clothes and you accompany him to the door. Indecisively, you stand in front of each other. How do you say goodbye to someone you love?
"I'd like to kiss you”, Spencer confesses, and your heart skips a beat. "But that wouldn't be good. For us." He spreads his arms and you fall against him for a moment, hearing his heartbeat one last time before he pulls away from you and smiles weakly at you.
Sometimes you don't even notice a goodbye right away. It happens quietly, creeping, slowly, more painful than a quick goodbye. It goes to your bones, tears at your heart, blinds you. You can't look at Spencer as he speaks, because you know that the goodbye you were afraid of is here now.The glimmer of hope you've carried with you for an entire year is quietly extinguished, the embers cease to glow and the smoke clouds your senses.  For a year, you held on to the fact that you would eventually find each other again. You prayed, hoped, and pleaded for it. The thought gave you comfort as you lay alone in your bed wondering how he was doing and what he was doing. And now it's over. Standing in front of you is Spencer. Spencer, who was in prison. Spencer, who's been through so much. Spencer, who might be your friend again someday.
"Someday you're going to make someone very happy”, you whisper, hoping he doesn't notice how your voice breaks.The pain spreading through you is too intense, and you wrap your arms around your body, afraid to crumble.  But you really wish this for him. You want him to be happy, to find someone he can love as unconditionally as you love him. Someone he can trust blindly. Someone who will not leave him.
Spencer smiles at you and opens the door, but before he leaves, he turns to you one last time. "I have one last question." You look at him and wipe the back of your hand under your nose. "You said it's hard to leave someone you love." He gives you one last look. "Did you leave me because you didn't love me anymore? Or did it have another reason?"
Inside you are screaming at him that you could never stop loving him. That everything you did was for him. That you almost died when you left him and turned your back on everyone. But you can't say it out loud. It was part of the deal. A deal that not even Emily knows every detail of. As you answer him, you die again inside. "I didn't love you anymore, Spencer. I'm sorry."
-
You'd love to never leave your apartment again, but that's not an option. You'd like to call in sick, but that would be a bad start to a someday-friendship, and you don't want Spencer to realize how much this goodbye has destroyed you. You suffer silently, not even telling Emily about your conversation, but trying to let others notice as little as possible how you're really feeling. Work distracts you, and that's a good thing.
When you're alone, it's harder. The pain is unbearable. Loving someone, and losing that person, is the worst pain you could have ever imagined. Your nights are plagued by nightmares, your days are filled with distractions. You try to somehow come to terms with the fact that Spencer would never be yours again, but you had hoped for too long that one day you would find each other again. But that wasn't going to happen. Spencer left. And it's your fault.
After a while, you stop waking up screaming in the middle of the night. You haven't gotten used to the pain, but it's a constant companion now, almost a friend, and you don't try to block it out anymore. You are no longer afraid of the nightmares, because even when you wake up, they are real. You find that you can neither escape nor resist, and so you accept your fate and withdraw so deeply into yourself that you lose yourself.
The emptiness in your head spreads throughout your body and the biggest hole is your heart.
hi! idk if req are open but can i request an nct 127 reaction where their idol s/o is maybe on the same variety show as them? :) ty!
here you go <33
i haven’t written for nct in sooooo long, so this feels good. i hope you guys enjoy this :D
this is just nct 127 acting like five year olds in front of the cameras, all because of their gorgeous s/o. i did get a little carried away with haechan’s, especially with making him into a huge menace (affectionate) <33
reaction under the cut
Tumblr media
taeil
oh lord, i just know that he’d be nervously laughing, which makes things slightly awkward, but absolutely hilarious for the audience. the hosts are just thinking ‘wtf is up with him’, while you, his members and your members are trying not to giggle at how flustered he is that you’re both on the same show together. nctzens just make tons of comments like ‘taeil isn’t making his feelings for y/n totally obvious or anything 👀💀’, and ‘he looks like he’s about to pass out wtf.’
Tumblr media
johnny
johnny would be all up in your personal space, if you had to do any physical activities. let’s just say you miraculously got paired up together and he had to guide you to a specific place while you’re blindfolded, best believe that he would be basically back hugging you the whole time. you two would be giggling together and acting all cute, making it totally obvious that there’s something going on between you both. fans would definitely trend something like ‘#johnny gets bitches?’ 💀💀
Tumblr media
taeyong
at first, everything is going smoothly, and you’d think that taeyong is just going to act like a normal human for the duration of filming. that is until one of the hosts picks up on your boyfriend’s sneaky glances of you, and then he shrivels up into a blushing, stuttering mess. “what’s so interesting about y/n huh?” all of the blood rushes to the poor man’s face, “n-nothing, i mean w-what are you talking about?!?!” 👀👀…and it was all going so so well.
Tumblr media
yuta
now yuta would actually manage to act like a functional human being. the filming would go very smoothly on his part. he would answer any questions he was asked, take part in all the activities and interact very well with you and the rest of your group. the only tell-tale sign that anything was going on between you two, would be the myriad of compliments that he would throw your way. “wow y/n did amazing in that last challenge, they’re such a fast runner and they still look stunning afterwards.” starting to look a lil sus there yuta.
Tumblr media
doyoung
we would all like to think that doyoung is another sensible man for the most part. however, sometimes he won’t even look your way because he thinks the fans will catch onto the fact that you’re dating, yet this just makes him look so awkward. everyone is just thinking ‘wtf’, while you’re sat there facepalming. the paranoid look does not look good on doyoung, mans is sweating and acting shifty asl. the comments are definitely things like ‘my guy is fighting for his life out there.’ if anyone tries to criticise you on the show though, he is the first one to jump in and defend you.
Tumblr media
jaehyun
i think that jaehyun would try to act composed like yuta, and he would succeed at the beginning of the filming process, but it would gradually descend into him giggling to himself just because you’re also on the variety show with him. he would honestly start behaving like a naughty school child, making him look a little insane. jaehyun would be thinking something like ‘omg i know some things about y/n that all these people don’t hehehe. *internal gasp* I’M SPECIAL.’ meanwhile, everyone is so concerned with how he’s acting, but no one says a thing. nctzens make some of the funniest looking clips go viral and caption them stuff like ‘he was either going through a high fever, or he was literally just high.’
Tumblr media
jungwoo
throughout the variety show, jungwoo spills so much information about you, honestly not giving a fuck about what anyone thinks. when the hosts ask how he knows so much about you in those patronisingly teasing voices, he just answers “well we’re *smirks at you* really close so i have loads of stories about them, and of course…i’M tHeIr BiGgEsT fAAAAn!!!!” the embarrassment that flows through you, from head to toe, is unbearable, which is why you decide to have your own fun. you tell almost every embarrassing story you can think of about jungwoo. the variety show has now turned into a battle of humiliation…good luck, you’ll need it.
Tumblr media
mark
let me introduce you to giggling five year old #2, a.k.a mark lee. every single time he catches your eye, he bursts out into fits of giggles, but no one questions it because 1. if they’re the members, they know about you and mark, and 2. literally everyone is used to mark laughing at anything and everything. the thing is, you’re exactly the same as mark, so the pair of you are crying with laughter in the corner, completely immobilised by your own idiocy, while everyone else is doing the tasks and interviews. but ermmmm at least you two are happy.
Tumblr media
haechan
bestie, i’ll be honest with you, this is a tough time for you, not haechan, just you. that’s because this man will do anything to tease you and make you blush…at this point he’ll probably make you pass out from embarrassment. he’ll make a huge show of it too, flouncing about and making theatrical gestures, when telling the most embarrassing stories about you. “and then *flails is arms everywhere* they TRIPPED, in front of who you ask?!?!?!?! LEE SOOMAN HIMSELF!!!!!!!” *pretends to faint, very dramatically*. haechan will also not hesitate to straight up smack a massive smooch right on your cheek in front of the cameras, revelling in the shocked look on your face and the way you want the ground to swallow you up. he will get his ass beat by you and all of the nct management team after filming. what can i say…stay safe soldier 🧍‍♀️
missing you
Tumblr media
featuring: tom holland (x actress!reader)
you thanked the hair stylist once they were done with your hair and remained in the dressing room to have a quick facetime with your boyfriend.
“hey, love,” tom answered, his voice slightly raspy. “wow, you look really beautiful.”
“thank you,” you smiled. you couldn’t see him too well but you could make out the grainy outline of his facial features and part of his bare shoulders and chest. he looked like he was still in bed. “why is the room so dark?”
“i’m just laying down for a bit,” tom explained.
“how are you feeling?”
“okay. i just wish you were here.”
you frowned. “yeah. i wish i was there to take care of you.”
“nah. then i’d just get you sick. your company is really all i need. i’m so lonely,” he pouted playfully. “but if i get you sick then i get to take care of you so it could be a win-win for me.”
you laughed at his very ‘tom’ logic. “i know. i miss you too. i think we have some time off soon but if you’re sick then we can always see each other when we’re done with promotion stuff.”
tom groaned. “ugh. i don’t know if i can wait that longggg, love.”
“i know this has been a long one but what you do you normally do when i’m away?”
he didn’t respond, his face buried in the pillow. then after a few minutes, he started giggling.
“what’s that one line from spongebob? where spongebob’s like, ‘what do you normally do while i’m at work?’ and patrick says--”
“‘wait for you to get back,’” you finish for him, laughing along.
“yeah. i feel like patrick right now, babe.”
“aww. well, just focus on getting better and maybe do some golfing and i’ll be back before you know it,” you promised.
the pout was still present on his face. “okay. i’ll try to survive until you come home.”
you smiled before you looked at harrison in the mirror, seeing that he had entered the room.
“we’re getting ready to start-- oh, is that tom?”
“harrison?” tom spoke through the phone.
you nodded, raising the phone up to harrison so he could see his sickly best friend.
“hey, mate,” harrison greeted. they had a quick chat about harrison’s recent debut.
“it’s been fun to see you on the other side of things, dude. i’m so happy for you,” tom praised. “i’ve been watching your interviews and they’re hilarious.”
harrison laughed. “thanks, tom. we have to get going if we’re gonna make this next one, though,” he reminded, looking down to you.
you nodded. “okay, babe. looks like i have to go.”
“alright, baby. i love you and miss you so much,” he blows a kiss to the camera.
“love you. miss you too,” you smile.
“see you, harrison.”
“yeah, see you, man.”
you end the facetime and follow harrison out to the set where you would be doing a promo shoot for the irregulars. like harrison, this was your first major role and the promotional part was just as important as the actual shooting of the show. you had been with tom through several of his press junkets but now you understand how taxing and exhausting it can be, especially when you’re away from your boyfriend for so long.
you would’ve liked to have him with you for some of it, like you had with him. but lately your schedules haven’t been matching up so easily. once you were done filming the show, he had gone off to film for spider-man and once he was done with that, you had started the promotional period for the show. there were short periods in between when you got to see each other but it wasn’t nearly enough time.
the heart certainly grows fonder when you’re apart from each other.
besides all that, you found press stuff to be pretty fun for the most part. photoshoots were really easy and usually didn’t take that long. this one took a little longer because harrison was with you and you both took some individual pictures as well as some photos together. if anything, you’re glad he was your co-star. you knew this wouldn’t be the case for every job you get so you tried to enjoy it while it lasted.
after the photoshoot, you and harrison went over to the studio where they film the wired autocomplete interviews. interviews were a bit more daunting part of press, mostly because you felt the pressure to be liked by the general public and that could put a lot of stress on you to be more performative. luckily, your actor boyfriend has been there to remind you to just be yourself and that’s really the best way to handle it.
you had seen several of the autocomplete interviews and always thought they were funny so you were actually looking forward to this one.
once you arrived at the studio, you got all set up with harrison beside you and then the director explained how it was going to work. it seemed like it was pretty lax, which was nice because there was no one asking questions. rather, the questions were actual google searches that people had made so you and harrison were the ones who really got to lead it.
“you guys ready?”
you and harrison nodded.
“three...two... one...action!”
harrison started. “hi! i’m harrison osterfield.”
“and i’m y/n.”
“and this is our wired autocomplete interview.”
“ladies first,” harrison insisted, prompting you to grab your board.
“okay,” you agreed with a laugh.
“here. i’ll hold it and you can rip the tape off,” he offered.
“good idea.”
a lot of the questions were pretty basic like where you were from, where you went to school, if you went to acting school, what your favorite food is, etc. but then you got to a certain one.
“‘is y/n--’ okay. let’s see,” you said as you peeled off the masking tape before reading the full question. “‘is y/n dating tom holland?’”
you laughed awkwardly before answering, as this was the first question about your relationship status in an interview.
“yes. we are dating,” you responded. your mind suddenly wandered to your earlier conversation with him, causing your mouth to keep moving.
“i haven’t seen him in a bit but--” you paused when you realized what you were saying. “um, i’m pretty busy these days.”
you ended with another awkward laugh and shrug as harrison nodded.
“okay. that’s all for me. your turn, harrison.”
you continued on with the interview despite feeling put off by the fact that you missed tom. fortunately, harrison’s questions were more entertaining and perked you up again.
“‘does harrison osterfield drink the juice?’ wait. what does that mean?”
you bursted out laughing at the vague question.
“y/n, what’s so funny? i don’t get it.”
“nothing, nothing,” you replied. “just answer what you think it means.”
you had finished the interview on a high note.
“you seemed to be in a better mood than earlier,” harrison remarked.
“yeah.”
“are you okay?”
“i just,” you started. “we’ve never been apart for this long and it’s just really hard. i didn’t think it was going to be a big deal and i thought i could handle it but i can’t.”
harrison frowned. “hey. no, no. you’re doing a great job. i promised,” he comforted before looking down to his phone.
you stood up off your chair. “i’m going to get some water.”
you began to walk away until harrison abruptly stopped you. “wait, y/n!”
you looked back to him as there was some commotion at the back of the set. you ignored it, looking incredulously at harrison.
“what?” you asked in an annoyed tone. you just wanted some water.
suddenly, a third voice appeared.
“aww, love. don’t be mean to harrison like that.”
you turned to see none other than your boyfriend standing there. you couldn’t react in any other way other than clapping a hand over your mouth and beginning to cry in disbelief that he was actually there.
“baby, it’s okay,” he cooed, walking over and wrapping you up in a hug. some of the crew watching the whole reunion began clapping and cheering.
he rubbed your backed as you sobbed into his shoulder for a few moments before lifting your head up to wipe your eyes.
“how, how-- what-- i,” you stuttered, wanting to know how this could be happening right now.
“what? are you not happy to see me?” he pouted playfully, brushing some hair out of your face.
“no! i am but i thought you were sick.”
“well,” he smirked. “i am an actor, darling.”
you rolled your eyes facetiously before he continued his explanation.
“i got in late last night and stayed in a hotel. i wasn’t sick but i gotta admit, i am pretty tired.”
you laughed. “you’re so dumb.”
“don’t blame this all on me! harrison was in on it too!”
you looked over to harrison who was still sitting there, watching this all go down. he held his hands up.
“guilty. but i’d like to add that tom was freaking out that you had found out somehow and has been texting me all day.”
“no. i really had no idea but i was worried about you,” you prodded at tom’s shoulder with a finger.
“i’d say it was worth it. wouldn’t you?”
you nodded. “i suppose.”
“can i have a kiss now, please?”
you leaned in and pressed a short kiss to his lips but of course, that wasn’t enough to satisfy him. he kept pulling you in for more before you began to get embarrassed with the other people around.
“alright, i’ll stop. but don’t think you can escape from my sneaky kisses!” he took your hand in his and began leading you out of the studio.
“wait, we still have some promo stuff to do for today.”
tom shook his head. “you don’t. can’t say the same for him,” he nodded over to harrison. “i’ve sorted it all out with your manager and it’ll just be me and you for the next two days. does that sound good?”
well, you couldn’t argue with that.
Caution. Slippery when wet. - Sebastian Stan x Reader
Title:  Caution. Slippery when wet.
Pairing: Sebastian Stan x Reader
Warnings: Some language, Sexual tension, Dirty stuff (we all get it)
Summary: Imagine promoting your newest movie with your costar and friend, Sebastian Stan, and reading thirst tweets. Only resulting in more flirting, teasing and sexual tension too much for you to handle.
Tumblr media
“Hello everyone, I am Sebastian Stan.” Sebastian spoke once you got the green light to start.
“And I am (Y/n) (Y/l/n).” you added when he paused for a second to look at you.
“And we're here to read some of your-” he looked at the bucket he was holding in his hand and you did the same with yours “Thirst tweets. Cause let's face it, how bad can it get?”
“You really are so unaware of the dangers that it's almost cute. I can't wait for you to get the shock of your life, dear, cause twitter doesn't hold back. Trust me.” you chuckled, enjoying the look of weariness and suspicion that Sebastian gave you before you turned to face the camera “But let's make something clear, before we start. He is here to read thirst tweets, I'm here to read some thirst tweets and make sure my side account has not been discovered.”
“I-” Sebastian started but paused again, eyes narrowing slightly at you “I want to ask but at the same time I think I don't... Am I somehow involved in all of it?”
“When are you not, Sebby?” you smirked at him, winking in a way that earned a laugh from the man. Taking a second or two to admire the way he hang his head low and laughed softly to himself you turned to the camera “But let's get started cause I see we both have plenty of this! I'll go first, since I've had years of preparing for this moment.”
“Wait- preparing for yours or mine?” he raised an eyebrow.
“No further information must be given until I've got my lawyer here or until the game's over. Too much is at stake.” you shrugged innocently “So here we go-” you pulled out a piece of paper from your bucket first and read it out loud “I mean, not to objectify, but (Y/n) (Y/l/n) in her new Endgame suit left me pregnant. And I'm a guy.” the second you read the whole tweet, both you and Sebastian couldn't help but burst into laughter.
“The movie must come with a warning first now huh?” he shook his head with a laugh as he pulled a paper out as well “Though I definitely agree with that guy, you looked amazing.” he made sure to point out, looking at you as you were still giggling before focusing his eyes on the paper once more “Alright, here I go: Man, Sebastian Stan could run me over with a truck and I'd still... suck that dick?” he trailed off a bit and the last part came out as a question. He paused, blinking as he looked at the camera with a tilt of his head and you could hardly stifle your laughter, mostly at his reaction.
“Alright, that's-” he paused, looking down at the paper again just to make sure before shaking his head and saying with wide eyes “Wow. I uh... thanks, I guess?”
“You know-” you tried to calm yourself down “You know what's even more weird?” you asked.
He frowned and looked at you “No, and I'm not sure I wanna know either. But you're gonna tell me either way so, go ahead and make it worse. Though I doubt how easy it'll be to top this off.”
“Is that the order it would happen in?” you said and looked back at the camera “Because, man, it concerns me. It's 2020 and a zombie apocalypse is not far from possible right now.”
“Alright-” Sebastian huffed “It did get wore, yes. Seriously, the image I got is even more disturbing now.” he closed his eyes, lips pursed as he shoo his head.
“Oh honey.” you said sweetly, placing a hand on your friend's shoulder “And this is just the beginning.” you chuckled when he groaned more.
However, you could see a playfulness in his eyes, and the small smile that tugged at the corner of his lips that gave away his whole act. So after giving him a small squeeze with your hand, you pulled away – completely trying your hardest to ignore the way you missed the warmth of the contact and convince yourself that it was nothing. You were becoming better at it lately as it seemed.
Convincing yourself of things that weren't true, such as you being only friends, such as you not longing for his touch or smile directed at you, such as him probably seeing you as family and no other way (no way which your heart longed for), had started being much easier with time. It was easier, and it certainly hurt less, to flirt and be playful with him, to touch him casually and to give (and receive) easy smiles and looks that you labeled as your thing, as part of your friendship, both to him and the rest of the world, and nothing more. With no more or any real meaning behind all of it. And he went along with it so there was no reason to even think of this as more than just a game, the way your friendship worked, even if your heart did crazy leaps each time his hands lingered or the way he looked at you had something about it.
You cleared your throat “Alright, let's get back to the game-” you tried to suppress a shudder when you felt his hand on your neck and his thumb rubbing soft circles, after all it wasn't the first time, as he leaned a bit over your shoulder to look down at the paper as well “(Y/n) (Y/l/n) could walk up to me and punch me in my face for no reason and I'd honestly apologize. Oooh no, no I wouldn't do that to you. I'm- I'm more of a tender and sweet lover, though of course it also depends on the guy I'm with.”
“Would you be tender with me?” Sebastian asked, small smirk on his lips but not as playful as... curious perhaps; the thumb on your back continued to bring pleasant shivers down your spine.
You managed a small, easy laugh before shrugging innocently “You'll have to take me out on a date first, Seb, and then you'll see for yourself.”
“Good thing I am free later then.” he shrugged, his smile too sweet for you to not reciprocate before his hand gave your shoulder a squeeze as well “Now, my turn-” he cleared his throat as he pulled a paper and frowned at it “I want Sebastian Stan to take my ass and fold my entire body inside out.” he paused for a second or two, an absolute silence setting on the room where Sebastian was looking at the camera with a straight face, you doing your best to keep yourself from laughing because of said expression “That-” he too a deep steady breath “Wouldn't be good for your health. You know that right?”
“It's something I did not want to picture is possible. That's what it is.” you chuckled, fishing for a tweet of your own “Wow your fans are on a roll, Sebastian.” you chuckled when he gave you a look as well “Ok, uhm Alright but (Y/n (Y/l/n) not finding her seat on that interview made me think like: 'Ma'am please use my face.' Wow now that's- that's the kind of tweets I had in mind. See, me not finding my seat on that interview had kind of became a meme and I'd laugh at it but this- this does give the whole situation a new kind of meaning.”
“Hold up a sec-” Sebastian spoke up, eyes narrowed “Is this person implying-”
“Because yes, I'd let her sit on my face.” you read the last part in addition “Not implying, he's stating it.” you shrugged slightly, chuckling a bit at how ridiculous and yet amusing this was. At first you thought it would get awkward with your crush sitting right next to you but right now you were beginning to think it was entertaining.
“I-” Sebastian pausing, eyes narrowing and jaw clenching in that way that distracted you for a couple seconds, before he turned to the camera “Is there a way to find someone's address through their tweets?”
“Pretty sure it could be possible yes.” his manager, who was also there behind the camera, shrugged.
“Oh my, don't encourage this!” you exclaimed, despite how adorable he looked grumpy and dare you think... jealous? Maybe, hopefully “It's just a tweet. Just read the next one, will you please?”
The man next to you huffed, eyes carefully following your motions as you placed the paper away – as if planning to snatch it later – before focusing back on his own “Alright, these are like in a list, one below the other but I'll just read it as I see it [someone mentions Sebastian Stan] Me: Caution. Slippery when wet.” another pause only because-
“Oh my- Yes!” you nearly exclaimed with a laugh “Yes, that's how it feels like! Wait, for a second there I sounded like Loki but-” you grinned, shrugging “I mean, it's true. Like, seriously- Same! And just imagine seeing him naked from up close, oh girl that's what I called a good morning.”
“Wait-” he looked at you with a raised eyebrow and you shrugged once more innocently, maybe a little too innocently to the point he could see you didn't mean it “What?”
“Long story which I will probably share first with the fans and then with you.” you winked and this time he narrowed his eyes playfully but you ignored it, or at least tried to “Is it just me or does seeing (Y/n) use that lasso in Infinity War make you think: 'Yes ma'am, tie me up and have your way with me' Is that a kink now? Cause it should be. I'm... flattered that me and the lasso of truth could do that? I don't know what to say, honestly.” you laughed, shaking your head and feeling the heat rise up in your cheeks.
“This is the same guy from before, isn't it?” Sebastian asked, nobody in particular, as he looked around at the cameras and crew “I just know it, you can't tell me otherwise. But-” he let a small breath, a smile on his lips that wasn't all that sweet and you knew that if the person that had written the tweet was standing there he would be dead just from the look on Sebastian's face “FYI: It's not as fun as you think my friend, it gets uncomfortable and the lasso is made out of a thick rope that leaves marks which last for uhm about four to five days. The makeup department didn't like that but luckily I wear mostly long-sleeved shirts and jackets so it's fine. Anyway, just sharing my personal experience on the matter seeing as you sadly won't ever get to live that dream out yourself.”
His shrug was anything but innocent to you and with a smile, not very open, but certainly far too smug for anyone to miss. You didn't want your heart to but that too was included, and it gave a skip in its beat when it felt the spark of hope within your chest. All you did was play coy and raise an eyebrow “What?”
“What?” Sebastian asked back casually and you blinked several times before he winked at you and turned back to looking through his bucket with a small smirk on his lips “My turn, let's see: Sebastian Stan is so lucky. He gets to touch Sebastian Stan's dick any time he wants. You guys are seriously-You're on a roll!” this time you both couldn't help your laughter, to the point you were wiping tears off your eyes.
“Man-” you sighed a little, a smile still on your lips as you both tried to calm down; but playing along with it you looked down at Sebastian and the up to his eyes, saying “Aren't you lucky Seb!” you nodded your head with a wishful look and it soon had you both erupting into a new feat of laughter.
“Well-” he tried to stay serious but his laughter gave it all away; he looked at the camera “See, it comes with the perks of being born in this body. And (Y/n) (Y/l/n) is the only one who gets a free pass on that, so I'm sorry you can't but uhm yeah, that's life.”
“I'm really really tempted to ask about that, and even more tempted to try it but-” you cleared your throat, pulling out a paper yourself and tried to focus “Heard (Y/n) (Y/l/n) has been doing some extra training lately for her new movie but she thinks none of it real fun. Why don't she use my-” you paused for a second there, trying to get the words out in between your laughter “Why don't she use my dick as a trampoline. 100% fun assured.” you didn't even know if your words were fully clear but you couldn't control it “Wow this I was probably not prepared for. Though I once came across a guy's tweet that went like 'Hey, (Y/n), if you're looking for a ride, zipper of my jeans is 24/7 open.' or something like that. This is a bit more creative I'll give them that.” you laughed a bit more when both of Sebastian's eyebrows shot up in surprise; you cleared your throat before continuing “I mean, I'll admit I like trampoline. Oh no, not that kind- Although, that kind is absolutely fine and fun and all too, but you kno-”
“Oh my goodness please stop. This-” he sighed, looking back at the camera “I had pictured many outcomes but this? This tops it all off easily.”
“Come on, you came here to read thirst tweets. Is me saying I'm good at trampoline or if you want a demonstration I'm always available, that off the realm of possible outcomes?” you asked, laughing wholeheartedly when his eyes widened and maybe taking a bit of extra pleasure in seeing the red color rise in his cheeks.
“That last one is not that bad.” he shrugged “Alright, I've got one last tweet let's see what twitter has to say about my- Oh it's not about it, alright.” he nodded his head “Someone: says something. Me: Yeah but have you seen Sebastian Stan's ass? I mean-”
“Hold up.” you spoke up before he could continue “Can you please get up?” you asked sweetly and he raised a curious eyebrow but he still got up. Without shame you took a good look at his ass before speaking “Alright, you can sit. See, every time someone mentions art, I must spend a couple seconds in silence admiring it.” you shrugged innocently, this time even members of the crew laughing apart from Sebastian himself “Everyone keeps mentioning America's ass and I'm like ok, it's fine, but have you seen this guy's? Work. Of. Art. I tell you.”
“Thank you, thank you! Finally someone said it, I mean-” Sebastian tried to hold back his laughter and shake his head with a heavy sigh “Everyone keeps talking about America's ass and while I do agree, it's hard to compete with that one, I'm equally sad nobody will give mine some love and attention!”
“I'll give it all the love it deserves, don't worry. People are just sleeping on it because oh if only you guys looked at it a bit more you would know just how good that ass looks with and without clothes!”
“Hey, yeah, you keep mentioning the naked part and I almost forgot-” he sounded actually surious as he turned to look at you “When did that happen?”
“When?” you blinked “Is that seriously what you're asking me? When?” you giggled and he grinned.
“Hey I'm just wondering in case I missed out on the best moment of my life or something. Besides-” he shrugged “I walk around my trail naked all the time on purpose and in hopes that you will just walk in at some point. I was hoping that when it happened we were more face to face than face to back, you know? Though I'm glad you appreciate the back view as well.” he was saying it as if it was the most casual thing in the world, and just because you knew him so well you had a hard time thinking it could only be a joke, unlike the rest of the people in the room who couldn't control their laughter.
“Yeah, I have a terrible habit of never knocking when I walk into a friend's place. Terrible indeed.”
“Eh depends on who you're asking.” Sebastian shrugged once more, smirking “I find it lovely.”
“Of course you would.” you muttered feeling your own face heat up “But for the sake of everyone in here, and to be able to give them a break from all these laughter, I think a slight change of topic would be nice. And I can happily say I am out of tweets to read. What about you?”
“Thankfully, for the both of us, yes I am done. Though it does beg the question-” he looked at you with a smirk “Did they discover your secret account about me?”
“No, no and it's a good thing. Because really, we wouldn't want everyone to know about all the spicy details concerning your front and rare view, as you call it.” you grinned “And, before you ask how, I'll tell you that's not a topic I'll talk about that easily. I will need the proper motivation to, first.” you giggled when he raised an interested eyebrow “All jokes aside, it's probably a really old account that I think I used when I was simply a fan and not an actress or part of the MCU and I didn't really use it to begin with.”
“That still doesn't mean I'm still not intrigued to find it myself.” Sebastian pointed out and you gave him a playful punch on the shoulder.
“You say they didn't discover your account but didn't say any of the tweets weren't yours, too.” it was barely half a second later, and in between Sebastian's laughter, but you heard the words crystal clear coming from your manager and you glared daggers at her.
“Oh my-” Sebastian's eyes widened “(Y/n)... is any of these tweets from your old account? Is there some dirty little secret in one of these that belongs in your past?”
“You know what belongs in my past? My manager and our friendship, that's what.” you gave her a look as she laughed before you shook your head “That's a question I refuse to answer.”
“You say that as if I am ever going to give up trying to get it out of you. And don't worry I have my ways, I can be pretty persuasive.”
.
..
...
“Just check your twitter people for more info on Sebastian's front view then!”
pairing: min yoongi x reader
genre: college, enemies? to lovers, a wee bit of angst, smut
word count: 16.9k (lmao sorry)
summary: it’s your senior year of college.  after surviving three years, nothing could surprise you, right?  wrong.  you can’t seem to catch a minute of peace from the moment the beautiful, yet utterly obnoxious min yoongi decides to sit in the seat next to you in one of your lectures and takes every opportunity he can get to pester you.  he’s just doing this to piss you off, right? (or maybe he’s an awkward idiot).
a/n: i’ve written for quite a few other fandoms in the past, but this is my first bts piece i’ve actually decided to publish here after transitioning this blog into bts trash.  this has been a work in progress since yoongi decided to hit us with that daechwita video and give me all the feels.  would love to hear your feedback.  sorry if there’s any typos but enjoy!!!
Tumblr media
Senior year of college was here.  The last first day of classes you would ever experience was upon you.  The fact that you had made it this far felt almost close to miraculous; taking into account all of the late-night library mental breakdowns, near-death drunk experiences, and relationship drama, it was shocking that you had made it this far in one piece.  Yet here you were, seated in a familiar, large lecture hall preparing for the first day of a history gen-ed class.  Why hadn’t you listened to everyone else and gotten all of your gen-eds out of the way freshman year?  That would have been the smart thing to do, leaving you to take all fun classes for your final year.  The class was probably going to be full of freshmen, too eager to befriend a lonesome senior such as yourself with the hopes of coercing you to buy them alcohol or invite them to upperclassmen parties.  Cringe.  And yet here you were.
As you spread your neatly-labeled notebook and color-coordinated pens out in front of you, you couldn’t help but feel someone’s eyes burning into the side of your head.  Oh no.  Had the freshmen already scoped you out as obviously older than them and an easy target?  Class hadn’t even started yet.  Chewing on your lower lip, you tilted your head to the side slightly and allowed your eyes to meet those of the unknown source.  Immediately, your breath hitched in your throat.
There before you stood Min Yoongi.  Although the two of you had never met before, you were aware of his existence through mutual friends and word of mouth.  The boy was gorgeous; even with his dark, piercing eyes intimidating you nearly to death, you felt as if you were going to melt into the ground as you took in the features of his face.  A thick red headband pushed his bleached blonde hair out of his face, allowing you to take in more of his perfectly sculpted features.  The plump of his cheeks and lips seemed to contrast the rest of his frightening yet gorgeous attributes, giving the appearance of a sort of twisted innocence.
“Is somebody sitting here?” the boy interrupted your fantasies in a deep, low voice, motioning to the empty seat to your right.
Blinking a few times to snap back into reality, you shook your head and turned back to your belongings, cheeks tinted pink.  “No, you can have it.”
With a loud slam of his backpack onto the table, he sank into the seat beside you.  As you stared down at your notebook and began to nervously jot down the date and any other unimportant details you could think of, you were quite conscious of the feeling of Yoongi’s eyes studying you.
“Is this history gen-ed or do I have the wrong room?” he tried to question genuinely, but you could hear an amused glimmer in the tone of his voice.  “This whole elaborate set-up you have going on has me thinking this is an art class or something.  It’s a bit much.”
Just as your cheeks had finally started to cool down, the color rushed to them yet again.  The judgement in his voice suddenly had you embarrassed of the organizational skills that you usually took pride in, your instincts making you put your arms up on either side of your notebook and pens in an attempt to block them from his view.  As the judgement settled in, it slowly morphed into a deeper feeling of annoyance.  Sure he was hot, but who did this complete stranger think he was making fun of you?
“Tell that to my grades,” you simply muttered back, the sound of the professor’s voice at the front of the lecture hall cutting you off from indulging further in your irritated thoughts.  Rolling your eyes to yourself, you shifted your body to face the front of the room and clicked down on one of your favorite pens, ready for the start of the new semester.
As you were now occupied with learning the layout of the new course, you missed the way Yoongi’s eyes scanned up and down the side of your face and his lips fell into a lop-sided grin.
Tumblr media
The happenings of the first day of class proved to be the beginning of a pattern.  Although the chances of Yoongi coming to class were a hit or miss, whenever he did happen to show up, his behavior was the same.
One day about two weeks into the semester, the boy in question showed up approximately thirty seconds before class was set to begin.  Rather than rush into his seat and shovel out his things, he remained standing for a few moments too long, his eyes traveling up and down your appearance.
“A dress and heels?” Yoongi interrogated, a quiet chuckle slipping through his lips as he finally plopped down into his seat.  His dark eyes searched yours as he raised an eyebrow.  “A bit much for class, don’t you think?”
Sighing to yourself, you smoothed the floral skirt of your yellow sundress out over your thighs.  Couldn’t he ever just let you exist in peace?  “They’re wedges,” you corrected, digging the heel of your shoe into the carpet beneath you to let out some of your frustration.  Feeling a bit braver today than during your first few interactions, you allowed your eyes to rake up and down his body slowly, faking a judgmental look on your face.  The corner of your lips quirked upward slightly as you noticed the way he seemed to freeze in place at your actions.  “Some of us actually enjoy putting a little bit of effort into our appearance, you know.”  A white lie of course, but a necessary one.  Even in his joggers and oversized hoodie, the blonde boy managed to look like a model beside you.
Yoongi’s eyes widened just the slightest bit in surprise at your fighting words, but nonetheless, an amused laugh bubbled through his body.  “Didn’t take you for the feisty type…” he trailed off, tapping the edge of his pen against the table in front of him.  “You loo–”
His voice cut off abruptly as the professor’s voice boomed through the lecture hall, signaling the beginning of class.  Rather than finish his mysterious statement, Yoongi turned to face the front of the room, smiling to himself as he jotted down the date in the corner of his notebook.
Tumblr media
Three weeks into the semester, friendship or even acquaintanceship seemed out of the question for you and Yoongi.  Although he was physically still the beautiful boy you had daydreamed about prior to having met him, his personality destroyed any fantasies you had about him being a quiet, misunderstood boy.  It seemed as if though he refused to let you catch a break in class.
As the professor finally dismissed class after what felt like an eternity, you shut your notebook and picked it up off of the table, ready to rush back to your room and indulge in a much-needed nap.  Before you could shove your belongings into your backpack and rush out of the room, Yoongi’s voice cut you off.
“Hey, do you have the notes from last class?” he asked, folding his hands together as he offered you a small smile.  “I was, uh, sick.”
Although his half-assed excuse was clearly complete bullshit, you weren’t exactly in the mood to cause a scene and knew you were more likely to get out of the room faster if you just caved in and let him have at it rather than force him to beg.  “Yeah, sure,” you muttered, opening your notebook to your notes from the previous class and plopping it down in front of him.  “Knock yourself out.”  You wished he literally would.
Digging his phone out of his pocket and opening the camera, Yoongi glanced down at the notes before side-eyeing you with what initially appeared to be an authentic smile spreading across his plump lips.  “You know, I saw something earlier that I think might interest you.”
Was Min Yoongi actually trying to start a genuine conversation with you?  Intriguing, to say the least.  Crossing your arms over your chest, you raised an eyebrow at him.  “Yeah?  What was it?”
His eyes flickered back down to your notes, the once seemingly genuine smile on his lips morphing into a devious smirk.  “I saw a flyer earlier about an art contest happening on campus,” he replied a bit too casually, beginning to take pictures of your notes.  “I’m sure they’d be extremely interested in the artistry and precision of your history gen-ed notes.  Truly a masterpiece.”
Any momentary hope you had of Yoongi not being an asshole diminished in that instant, your hands immediately reaching down to rip your notebook out of the view of his phone camera and slamming it shut.  “You’re a dick,” you muttered, rolling your eyes as you stormed past him.  “Get the notes from someone else.”
As you rushed out of the now empty classroom, you missed the way Yoongi’s once amused expression changed into a frown, his hand reaching up to rub the back of his neck in frustration at himself.
Tumblr media
On a Wednesday one month into the semester, you were having arguably one of the worst days of the year.  As syllabus week was long over, the workload in your classes had increased exponentially overnight and you were left feeling exhausted and overwhelmed.  Having gotten into an unwarranted fight with one of your more difficult housemates the night before, you had gone to bed frustrated and forgot to set an alarm.  While this would not have been an issue on a regular Wednesday, you had forgotten that you had an interview scheduled with a potential employer for a job after your senior year would inevitably come to an end.  Having apparently been in desperate need of some extra sleep, you didn’t become conscious until approximately 11:45am, fifteen minutes before your history lecture and long after the interview that had been set for 9:00am.
Tears threatened to sting your eyes as you rushed out of bed, quickly becoming aware of the weight of the situation you had fallen into.  How could you be so irresponsible and miss the opportunity to get hired for a position in your field?  So many seniors already had jobs secured for the summer even though it was only October of the fall semester.  You were a mess.
These negative thoughts only became louder as you rushed across campus toward the lecture hall, glancing down for a moment to take in your appearance.  You were sporting a pair of black joggers and an oversized hoodie that belonged to your best friend, Kim Taehyung.  In addition to this already rather unpleasant sight, you hadn’t had the time to do your skincare routine or makeup, and your bedhead was thrown into a messy bun on the top of your head, threatening to fall out of the elastic at any moment.  As someone who usually was well put together, you were extremely uncomfortable with roaming the campus with your current appearance.  The lethal combination of your messy appearance and the chaotic night and morning you had experienced had you feeling quite insecure as you finally rushed into your lecture hall with twenty seconds to spare, sinking down into your seat with your eyes low.
Just as you thought the morning couldn’t get any worse, the presence beside you just had to make himself known.  “All dressed up for me?” Yoongi asked sarcastically, smirking as he looked you up and down.  “I thought ‘some of us enjoy putting effort into our appearance.’”
While on any regular day Yoongi’s sarcastic comments were enough to get under your skin, today they proved to be unbearable.  Slamming your notebook down on the table in front of you, you twisted your whole body to face the amused boy.  “Can you just leave me the fuck alone?  For once?” you snapped a bit too loudly, noticing the way that a few of your classmates turned to look at the pair of you.  Before you could wish for the ground to swallow you up in that instant, your professor started to speak to begin class, snapping everyone’s attention away from you.  Swallowing to yourself, you turned to face forward, keeping your head low as you stared down at your notebook.
With your eyes averted, you didn’t notice the way that Yoongi’s expression fell and he stared at the side of your face with such deep concern that you weren’t even aware he was capable of feeling, wondering what he had done to make you that upset.  Was he really that intolerable?
About fifteen minutes into class, the sound of your phone vibrating next to your books snapped you out of your daze.  As your eyes scanned over the screen, your heart sank down to your stomach.
mom (12:16pm): Hey honey, how’d the interview go?  Bet you crushed it xo :)
The tears you had managed to hold back on your way to class were now stinging at the corners of your eyes.  Fucking up your own life was one thing, but disappointing your parents who had such high expectations of you and often talked about you with so much pride was another whole ballpark.  The thought of having to break the news to your sweet mother that you had fucked up yet again made you feel sick to your stomach.
As the first tears escaped your eyes and slid down your cheeks into visibility, you quickly shut your notebook and shuffled to your feet on shaky legs, not even bothering to shove your belongings into your backpack.  Ignoring the puzzled looks you were receiving from your classmates, especially Yoongi, you stormed out of the lecture hall and didn’t stop moving until you pushed your way into the nearest bathroom.  The moment the door of the single-stall closed shut, you slid down the side of the door and put your face in your hands.
Of course you knew this would all pass.  Of course you would figure things out with your housemate.  Of course you could try to reschedule the interview, or even just apply to other jobs if that didn’t work out.  Of course you could just explain things to your mom.  But college had a funny way of throwing so many things at you at once that sometimes it was hard to think straight and see things clearly.  Sometimes you just had to cry for a little bit to let out some of the stress.  So that was precisely what you did.
When you finally were able to compose yourself at least a bit, you fished your phone out of your pocket, immediately dialing the number of the only person you felt comfortable talking to at the moment.  There was no way you were going back into that lecture hall after the scene you had caused.
“Hey, what’s up?” Taehyung’s deep voice sounded through the speaker, the low tone immediately sending a sense of comfort through your body.
Inhaling deeply, you rose to your feet and wiped the last of the tears from the corners of your eyes with the sleeve of the hoodie that happened to belong to the boy on the other end of the phone.  “Hey, can I come over?” you asked, sniffling quietly.  “Your place is closer than mine and I’m kind of a mess right now.”
“Hey, hey.  What’s wrong?” he asked, genuine concern laced in his voice.  He sensed your apprehension in discussing your problems over the phone and decided to speak up again.  “Actually, you don’t need to answer that right now.  I’ll leave the door unlocked for you.” You could hear him shuffling around on the other end.  “I was actually just about to text you.  I finally cleaned my place and found some of your clothes from when we used to, you know… Do the dirty.”
For the first time that day, a giggle forced itself through your lips.  What an absurd way to refer to your past attempts at a friends with benefit situation with Taehyung.  The two of you had been friends since freshman year of college, or even before that if you wanted to be specific.  Having been in the same orientation group the summer before starting college, the boy with the boxy grin was an immediate standout to you.  After being placed together by your orientation leader in a partner activity, you discovered that you had a lot of the same interests and the same, twisted sense of humor.  From that moment on, the two of you vowed to stick together through the ups and downs of college.  Apart from sticking together academically by taking most of the same literature classes together, you acted as each other’s emotional support system.  Whether it be a bad grade on an assignment, a painful breakup, or even a miserable hangover, you were there for each other.  Sometime during the beginning of your sophomore year when both of you were going through breakups and wanted to get laid without catching feelings for someone else, you struck up a friends with benefits deal that lasted all the way through the middle of your junior year.  The deal served its purpose well; the sex was good and there were no feelings involved, despite the concerns of some of your friends.  It was mutually ended when you both decided that you were ready to put yourselves out there romantically again.  There was no awkwardness for either of you.  The friendship remained as strong as ever and you were grateful to have someone as supportive as Taehyung in your life.
“Good, I could use a change of clothes right now,” you responded, finally working up the nerve to exit the bathroom and make your way out of the building.  “You’re the best.  I’ll be there in 10.”
As always, Taehyung knew just how to cheer you up.  Immediately upon your arrival, he insisted you take a hot shower to allow yourself to calm down alone for a bit.  To your delight, he had discovered one of your cute black t-shirts and a pair of ripped mom jeans you had been looking for forever while cleaning his room, allowing you to change out of the dreadful outfit you had been wearing earlier.  After combing your hair and putting the emergency makeup in your backpack to use, you were back to looking like a presentable human being and returned to Taehyung, plopping down beside him on his bed and resting your head comfortably on his chest.
Taehyung knew how to calm you down unlike anyone else in your life.  He allowed you to rant for nearly an hour, only chiming in when you asked for his advice or to offer words of comfort and encouragement.  By the end of the conversation, you were left feeling much more relaxed and acknowledged that none of the issues that you found yourself in were irreparable.
Glancing down at your phone, you sat up straight as you noticed the time.  “Shit, I have class in twenty minutes.  I should get going in a few.”
Taehyung sat up beside you, reaching his arms overhead to stretch with a loud yawn.  It had become quite clear to you that he had skipped all of his classes today by his disheveled hair and his boxer-clad body.  “Are you feeling better now?”
Nodding, you flashed him a small smile as you rose to your feet and took the opportunity to stretch out your own body.  “Yes, much.  Thanks, Tae,” you praised, glancing at yourself in the mirror and fixing a few messy strands of hair.  “Honestly, I think I would’ve been fine if it wasn’t for that asshole Yoongi.”
“Yoongi?  As in Min Yoongi?” Taehyung questioned, authentic interest laced into his voice.
“Mhmm, that’s the one.”
“Hmm, interesting.  Namjoon’s been hanging out with him a bit now that he’s gotten closer to Hoseok.  I think they’re doing some sort of music thing together.  He’s brought him around here a few times recently,” the boy informed you, finally rising to his feet to stand beside you.  “He seemed cool, but if he’s an asshole to you I won’t hesitate to kick his ass.”
Hmm.  Now that was some interesting information.  Namjoon was one of Taehyung’s two roommates, Jimin being the other one.  Seokjin had lived with them in previous years, but his room was left vacant after he had graduated the previous year.  Still living nearby and remaining close to all of you, he often visited on the weekends to fill the void.
That wasn’t your concern though.  Namjoon was Taehyung’s sweet, clumsy dork of a roommate that you had also grown close to over the years.  After meeting Hoseok the previous semester through Namjoon, their friendship made sense.  Hoseok was loud, bubbly, and impossible to hate.  The boy didn’t have a bad bone in his body.  How the fuck did Yoongi fit into the mix?
Snapping back into reality, you giggled to yourself and pulled your concerned best friend into a tight hug.  “Don’t worry about it, Tae.  He just says stupid shit to get under my skin and today I was extra vulnerable.  Nothing major,” you reassured, giving him a squeeze.  “Thanks again for listening to me.  I’ll text you after class to get dinner or something.”
“If you say sooooo,” Taehyung drawled, pressing an affectionate kiss to the top of your head.  “Of course.  I’ll see you later.”
Flashing him one last grateful smile, you turned on your heel and pushed open the door of his bedroom, quietly closing it behind you.  The peaceful scenery of Taehyung’s bedroom was greatly contrasted with what was occurring in the common area, and nothing could have prepared you for what you were about to face.
“Y/N!  I thought I heard you show up earlier,” Namjoon shouted out to you from behind the kitchen counter, offering you a warm, dimpled smile.
“I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever, Joon,” you replied sincerely, returning the smile.  As you approached the kitchen, your eyes took in the faces of the familiar figures before you.  Namjoon… Jimin… Hoseok… No.
No fucking way.  It was as if Taehyung’s comment about Namjoon’s new friendship just moments prior had been a warning to you, because there before you stood Min fucking Yoongi right beside Hoseok.  It was evident by the look on his face that he had spotted you before you noticed his presence.  Rather than sporting his signature smirk, his mouth was slightly open and his eyes were wide with what could only be shock.  If you had allowed your gaze to remain on him a bit longer, maybe you would have noticed the genuine concern and sympathy in his eyes as he stared back at you.
“It’s because Tae hogs her and barely lets us have any time with her,” Jimin commented, chuckling as he glanced down at his phone for a moment.  “Oh, before I forget, Y/N…  Jungkook needs a model for his photography project and told me to ask you for him because he’s too nervous to ask you himself.”
Namjoon laughed to himself, shaking his head.  “I see Jungkook is still trying to live out his noona kink.”
Giggling to yourself, you rolled your eyes as you fully entered the kitchen and grabbed your backpack off of the stool where you had left it earlier.  Your friends were referring to Jeon Jungkook, a current sophomore who had found his way into your circle of friends early on in his freshman year after taking a few classes with Namjoon and Jimin.  The two of you weren’t particularly close as you typically only saw him on the weekends and in passing, but he was a friendly addition to the group.  Despite hearing about how popular he was with the sophomore girls, you found it hard to believe.  Every time Jungkook was around you, he seemed to turn into a nervous, stuttering mess, much to the rest of the boys’ enjoyment.
“Leave my little Kookie alone.  He’s an angel,” you responded, slinging your backpack over your shoulder.  “Tell him of course I’ll do it.”
“Phew, I think he’d pass out if I told him you referred to him as your Kookie,” Namjoon pestered on, nosily glancing over Jimin’s shoulder in amusement as the shorter boy typed out the news to Jungkook.
“I will be leaving that part out for now.” Jimin chuckled, slipping his phone back into his pocket before his eyes met yours again.  “Oh, I don’t know if Tae told you yet, but we’re planning on throwing a little party Friday night.  You should come, Y/N.”  Little party.  Whenever Jimin claimed he was just throwing a “little party,” it was often anything but little.
Taehyung had not told you yet, but you weren’t exactly surprised as he was a bit of a scatter brain when it came to remembering minute details.  Pursing your lips, you crossed your arms over your chest.  “We’ll see.”
Namjoon rolled his eyes, moving closer to shove his shoulder against yours.  “We all know that’s your way of trying to appease us momentarily and then end up not showing up.  Come on, Y/N.”
Jimin stuck out his lower lip, clasping his hands together to plead.  “Pleaaase, Y/N.  You never party with us anymore like you used to.  We miss you.”
“If not for us, do it for Tae,” Namjoon argued, poking your cheek.  “Or even for your little Kookie.”
Dramatically shaking your head, you shoved Namjoon back as you rolled your eyes.  “I’ll think about it, okay?”
“Hmm, you better.”
A moment of silence fell upon the group before you were forced back into the reality of the current situation that you were trying to avoid.
“Oh shit, sorry Y/N.  I’m being rude,” Hoseok interrupted from the other side of the counter, offering you a sheepish smile.  “This is my friend Yoongi.  I’ve finally been managing to drag him out to hang out with some of my friends.  Quite the antisocial one here.”
Ah.  How could you forget he was here?  Also, antisocial?  Hilarious.  The boy in question never kept his big mouth shut around you.  The look of pure discomfort that spread across Yoongi’s face when Hoseok brought the silent boy to your attention caused you to feel nothing but pure joy.
“Oh, no worries at all, Hobi,” you replied sweetly, flashing the boy an all-too-pleasant smile.  “Yoongi and I have actually already had the pleasure of meeting.  Isn’t that right, Yoongi?”
Nothing pleased you more than witnessing the look of sheer panic plastered across Yoongi’s face as he reached up to rub the back of his neck.  His typical overly confident persona was gone; he was now putty in your hands and you loved the feeling of being in control for once.  If only this moment could last forever.
“Uh, yeah we have,” Yoongi muttered, attempting to appease Hoseok’s confused face with a not-so-convincing smile.  “We have history class together this semester.”
“History?”  Hoseok’s eyes glanced back and forth between the two of you, as if trying to process something.  At last, they settled on Yoongi.  “Weren’t you just telling me you made some girl cry in history class today?”
If Yoongi hadn’t been mortified before, he surely was now.  It almost seemed as if his face was frozen, his eyes and mouth all wide in the shape of an ‘o.’  Just as you thought this interaction could not possibly get any more uncomfortable for Yoongi, his eyes flickered away from yours to move behind you.  Whatever it was that he saw left him looking even more disoriented, earning an amused smirk from you.
At last the sight Yoongi had observed made his presence known to you, Taehyung’s voice causing you to spin around on your heel to face him.  “Guys, let Y/N go to class in peace.  She’s had a rough day.”
You had to bite down on your tongue to avoid the laughter that was threatening to force its way through your lips.  As your eyes raked up and down Taehyung’s body, you were quite aware of why Yoongi had looked so stunned just moments before.  Taehyung stood before the group just as he had beside you in his bedroom a few minutes ago, hair a complete mess and sporting nothing but a pair of tight boxers.  Although the sight was nothing unusual to you and most of the boys, you knew by Yoongi’s expression that he had assumed that you and Taehyung had been hooking up before you emerged into the kitchen.  Even though it was false, you found yourself enjoying the current situation immensely.  You were well aware by the way Yoongi usually teased and belittled you in class that he perceived you as the quiet, innocent type, and you knew this scene would cause him to question everything.  How good it felt to be the one making Yoongi feel like shit for once.
“Tae, don’t worry about it.  We were just talking,” you assured him, reaching up to ruffle his messy hair.  While this act of affection was typical for the two of you, you knew it would be perceived differently in Yoongi’s eyes.  “But I do actually have to go to class now.  I’ll see you guys around, okay?”
The sound of various “goodbyes” and “we better see you at the party” filled your ears as you turned on your heel, but not before taking one last glance at Yoongi, knowing this was likely the last time you would have the pleasure of seeing the confident boy looking so distraught.  His eyebrows were knit together as he frantically looked you up and down, almost as if he was trying to search for the quiet, jittery girl he was used to seeing in class.  Although you knew this newfound confidence you were feeling surrounded by your group of close friends probably wouldn’t last when you saw him alone in class on Friday, you allowed yourself to indulge in this little victory where he was the one looking like the fool.
Directing one last small smirk at the confused boy, you finally approached the door and slipped out.  The moment you exited the building and walked toward the academic quad, you couldn’t hold back the laughter you had been keeping in for what felt like an eternity.  The unfortunate events of the morning had been long forgotten; you had achieved your first victory of the day and it was a big one for you.
When you finally slipped into your classroom with five minutes to spare, you took a moment to retrieve your phone out of your bag, blinking in confusion at all of the texts you had received in just a few minutes.
kookie (2:49pm): thanks for agreeing to help me w my project!!! :)
kookie (2:49pm): i promise it won’t be too much work for you
kookie (2:50pm): sorry for being a loser and not asking you myself
kookie (2:50pm): hopefully i’ll see you friday night? :)
Aw.  What a cutie.  Now onto the rest of your texts.
tae tae (2:51pm): yoongi will not stop asking us questions about you
tae tae (2:51pm): he asked if me and you were dating and then got confused when we all laughed
tae tae (2:52pm): also suspiciously curious about who jungkook is
tae tae (2:52pm): now he’s asking all about how long we’ve been friends for.  wtf is he trying to get at
tae tae (2:55pm): ya know i think he has a crush on you or something
You let out an exasperated gasp as you read the last text, barely believing your eyes.  Yoongi, the boy who managed to make every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at noon unbearable for you without fail for the past month, having a crush on you?  The thought was laughable.
Before you could type out an adequate response to such absurdity, your phone buzzed again.
jiminie (2:56pm): so what’s the deal w you and yoongi? seems ~steamy~  👀
jiminie (2:56pm): i feel like he somehow knows i’m texting about him
jiminie (2:56pm): he’s glaring at me
jiminie (2:57pm): didn’t take you as one to go for the intimidating ones hmm
jimine (2:57pm): i’ll let kookie know he has to be scarier
It was understandable for Taehyung to have such irrational ideas, but now Jimin too?  If your friends saw the way he talked to you in class, they would be laughing at themselves too.  Someone grab these boys their clown suits.
Biting the inside of your cheek, you locked your phone without responding to either of your friends.  That would be an issue for a later time.
Tumblr media
The next two days rolled by rather smoothly.  Your housemate had apologized to you after realizing that she had overreacted for yelling at you for leaving your dishes in the sink when you were busy with homework, you had managed to get the missed interview rescheduled, and you had explained the situation to your understanding mother.  Most importantly, it was now Friday and you were more than ready for the weekend.  Things seemed to be finally falling back into order.
After getting an early lunch with one of your friends before your class at noon, you found yourself with fifteen minutes to spare before your class and it didn’t seem worthwhile to try to go back to your house or even the library.  It wouldn’t hurt to be a bit early for class.
When you finally entered the lecture hall from the back, the sight before you caused you to come to an immediate halt.  As it was still quite early, the class was empty all except for one person who you could identify even from behind due to his bright, bleached blonde hair.  What the fuck was Min Yoongi doing fifteen minutes early to class?  It was generous to even expect him to show up a whole minute before start time.  This was unprecedented.
You momentarily considered turning on your heel and leaving the room until right before noon, but it would be too much of a hassle to find somewhere to sit outside and the sound of the door closing behind you had already notified him that someone else was in the room.  As you accepted your fate and began to walk down the aisle, your eyes stopped on the space in front of your usual seat.  There in front of your seat sat a large coffee.  Had somebody already taken your seat?  Was Yoongi saving your seat for someone else to avoid you after your last interaction on Wednesday?
Working up the nerve, you continued to walk closer, only stopping once you were right in front of Yoongi.  The confidence you had found around your friends on Wednesday had seemed to diminish.  Before you could even allow yourself to take in the nervous expression on his face, you forced yourself to speak.  “Hey, did somebody take my seat?”
Yoongi blinked a couple times in confusion before his eyes wandered over to the coffee in front of your seat, a sense of comprehension taking over his features.  The calm expression on his face didn’t last.  Suddenly, the same anxious Yoongi you had experienced in Taehyung’s kitchen was back, his cheeks heating up and his hand reaching up to rub the back of his neck.  You had noticed that was a nervous habit of his.  Clearing his throat, he shook his head before finally attempting to clear up the confusion.  “Uh, no…” His eyes darted around the area, moving anywhere but to your own.  “It’s for you… The coffee.”
The confusion certainly was not cleared up by his answer, and you were left feeling even more puzzled.  Why had Yoongi bought you a coffee?  And why did he seem so nervous about it?  Glancing down at the venti cup in front of you, you picked it up and examined the label on the side.  Venti iced caramel latte with almond milk and less ice, it read.  Wait a minute.  How did he know your exact order, down to the less ice?
Furrowing your brow, you crossed your arms over your chest and continued to glare at the clearly uncomfortable Yoongi, much to his dismay.  “How do you know my exact coffee order?”
Yoongi’s cheeks flushed darker, his hands reaching down as he grabbed his backpack off of the ground and attempted to distract himself by zipping it open and looking for his notebook for a bit too long.  “I zone out in class a lot and have happened to zone out on your coffee a few times so I happened to remember.”  When you stood your ground and refused to assume your seat next to his, his eyes finally met yours.  It seemed as if though he was trying to put on an irritated front, but you could see right through it.  “Just sit down and drink it, okay?”
After standing still and staring at him for a few moments longer just to further his discomfort, you finally let your arms fall to your sides and walked behind him to plop down in your seat.  Jabbing the straw into the top of the unexpected cup of coffee, you took a long sip.  Ah, the sweet sensation of caffeine flowing through your veins.  Almost as sweet as the feeling of a highly uncomfortable Yoongi sitting beside you.
You were well aware that he was waiting for you to speak first.  He was most definitely waiting for you to ask him why he got you the coffee.  He was also likely wishing you’d bring up Wednesday before he had to.  However, the knowledge of his discomfort made you hold off.  If he wanted to talk about it, he would have to initiate the conversation.  You were enjoying this role reversal just a bit too much.
After a few more moments in silence, Yoongi finally let out a defeated sigh and fully turned his body to face yours.  It was quite apparent by the distressed expression on his face that he had been having a battle with himself in his head to work up the courage to speak.  “Aren’t you going to ask me why I got you coffee?”  Ah, the male species was so predictable.
Taking another long sip from the coffee just to make him wait a bit longer, you quirked an eyebrow at him, feigning innocence.  “Am I supposed to?”
“Well, I mean, yeah.  I would expect you to be curious.”  Running a hand through his hair, he allowed his eyes to scan over your face.  When he realized you weren’t budging, he let out yet another sigh.  Poor guy.  “It’s an apology, okay?  I wanted to say I’m sorry for Wednesday.  You know, when you, um… Cried.  I was just joking around and had no idea I would upset you so much and I felt like a complete asshole.  I followed you when you ran out and tried to find you to see if you were okay, but you really disappeared.  I just… I know I’m not good with this kind of thing but I’m sorry.”
Clasping your hands together over your drink, you allowed yourself a moment to process all that was just thrown at you.  Not only was Yoongi apologizing to you, but did he just admit that he chased after you to try to comfort you after he saw you cry?  That seemed all too out of character for someone who was known for being overly confident and priding himself in his ‘I-don’t-give-a-fuck’ attitude.
Gnawing on your lower lip, you allowed yourself to take in his current state.  As he had told you, he clearly wasn’t very good at whatever “this” was.  What was “this” exactly?  Was it him having to apologize?  Or simply him having to not be a complete dick to you for more than thirty seconds?  Regardless, it was evident that he was being genuine.  His hand continued to rake through his hair, causing it to stick up in various directions.  Although his eyes were finally fixated on yours, the expression on his face communicated to you that he wished the ground would swallow him up at any moment.  It was strange seeing him this stressed for so long, but it was a welcomed change.  You knew all too well what it felt like to be so on edge, so you found yourself starting to feel a bit bad for him.  Maybe you could take it easy on him.  You had already felt the satisfaction of seeing him lose his ego for at least a little while, and that was enough for you.
Sighing to yourself, you shook your head and offered him a small smile.  “It’s fine, really.  Wasn’t even really your fault,” you assured him, reaching down into your backpack and fishing out your notebook as you noticed some of the other students finally started to file into the lecture hall.  “I had a lot going on and you just happened to be the one to set me off.”
“Are you sure?” Yoongi’s eyes trailed up and down your face as if he was trying to speculate if you were telling the truth or not.  Why did he suddenly care so much about your feelings?  “Do you want to talk about it?  I mean, why you were so upset and all…”
Furrowing your brow, you opened your notebook to a fresh sheet of paper.  “Uh, no.  Not really.  Talking like that isn’t exactly something we do,” you answered, crossing your arms over your chest defensively.  It almost felt like he was trying to pry into your life, and you weren’t sure why.  As your relationship– if you could even call it that– was strictly limited to unwanted banter and insults from Yoongi, you didn’t exactly feel comfortable opening up to him about your problems.  A pity coffee wasn’t enough to convince you otherwise.  “I already had the chance to rant about it anyway.”
Yoongi was silent for a moment as he copied your actions, opening his own notebook and distracting himself by flipping through various scantily-covered pages.  “Ah, with Taehyung?”
You sensed a tinge of judgment in his voice, causing you to recollect the events of Wednesday.  It was clear that your perception had been correct; the tone of Yoongi’s voice insinuated that he believed something was going on between you and Taehyung.  Apparently whatever Taeyung and the other boys had told him after you had left wasn’t enough to change his mind.  His judgment was a valid one, even expected, but his apparent need to ask you about it was not.  What did it matter to him?
“Yes, with Tae,” you replied simply, watching the way he doodled in the margins of his notebook.  “He is my best friend, afterall.”
“Oh, my bad.  Wasn’t aware he was ‘Tae’ to you,” Yoongi spoke up quickly, a small smirk tugging at the corners of his lips.  “I think we have different definitions of what a ‘best friend’ is, though.”  Ah, there he was.  The insolent Yoongi you had come to know and despise.
Rolling your eyes, you unknowingly pushed the coffee he had bought you further away, almost as if to symbolize that he was becoming repulsive to you yet again.  “I’m not quite convinced anyone would want to be your best friend anyway,” you snapped back, clicking open your pen.  “So was the coffee really an apology or just an excuse to pry into my life?”
“No, no.  It really was an apology,” he answered right away, pushing the coffee closer to you again in response.  “I’m just curious.  I guess my initial impression of you wasn’t entirely right.”
Now that was enough to get your full attention again.  Yoongi sure seemed to have a lot to think and say about you.  Raising an eyebrow, you hesitantly took another sip from your coffee.  “I wasn’t aware you had any impression of me to begin with.”
Yoongi chuckled to himself and shook his head, almost as if in disbelief of what you had just said.  “Oh, I have had a lot of thoughts about you.  I’ll keep them to myself, for your sake.”  If you hadn’t blinked, you would’ve noticed the way his eyes momentarily flickered down to your lips as they wrapped around the straw of your coffee.  “However, don’t worry.  I had it right that you’re a nerd who’s always going out of her way to do a bit much, and I stand by that.”
Scoffing to yourself, you slammed your drink down yet again.  “And you’re still an incessant asshole who pries into my life for absolutely no reason.”  Your eyes flickered to the front of the room as your professor took his place behind the podium.  “And I stand by that.”
Yoongi laughed a bit louder this time, clearly unbothered as he nodded his head at you as he turned his body to face the front of the class.  “Fair enough.”
Class seemed to fly by in a breeze, the majority of the lecture taken up by your professor outlining the content that would be on your first exam in the following week.  It was a lot of information, but you were confident that it wouldn’t be too challenging if you gave yourself enough time to study.  However, that was a problem for next week.  This weekend had to be about unwinding and giving yourself the proper amount of time to let go and relax.
Shoving your contents into your backpack, you were snapped out of your post-class daze by the sound of Yoongi’s low voice.  “Any fun plans this weekend?”
Blinking a few times to wake yourself back up, you slung your backpack over your shoulder and eyed the boy in front of you.  It was very unlike him to attempt to start a casual conversation with you, especially after class (that is, unless he was asking you for your notes). His odd behavior was continuing to surprise you.  “Uh, not sure…” you answered, taking a moment to push in your chair.  “Might need to make an appearance at a party tonight so my friends don’t kill me, but that’s about it.”
“Ah, the life of the party here.” Yoongi snickered, flashing you a lop-sided smirk before raising his hand slightly to give you a lackluster wave.  “See you around.”  With that, he spun around and quickly disappeared out of the lecture hall.
What an odd afternoon.
And you sure did see him around.  Much sooner than you would have liked, if you were being perfectly honest.
To your dismay, your lame excuses of “I’m sick” and “I have other plans” did not work on your friends, and they left you feeling guilty for trying to get out of going to their party.  Along with that, none of your housemates were particularly in the mood to go out, conceding that they’d much rather just stay in and watch a movie after such a chaotic week.
So that was precisely how you found yourself alone in the back of an Uber on the way to Taehyung’s house, discreetly trying to take shots out of a plastic water bottle filled with some old raspberry-flavored vodka that tasted closer to nail polish remover.  As painful as it was trying to hold in your gags so your Uber driver didn’t notice, you knew you couldn’t show up to the function sober.  Your friends were probably already ten rounds in.
As if on cue, your phone started to vibrate against your thigh, gladly distracting you from having to take another shot of poison.
joon (10:01pm): you better get your ass over here rn
joon (10:01pm): it’s still just all of us pregaming together and we want you here before everyone else shows up
joon (10:02pm): jimin is already absolutely plastered
jiminie (10:02pm): um nit thst drink theyre bing mwan to me
jiminie (10:02pm): cum here niw nd guv me s hug ;(
jiminie (10:03pm): o uiongi ia here too
Laughing to yourself as you didn’t even try to decipher the complete nonsense Jimin sent you, you glanced out the window as the car slowed to a stop in front of your destination.  After thanking your driver and sliding out of the car, you rose to your feet and smoothed out your lace top and black leather skirt.  It had been a while since you had allowed yourself to get all dressed up like this.  As you approached the door, you couldn’t help but notice the warm fuzzy feeling in your stomach and the head rush you felt from standing up so quickly.  Ah, the lovely effects of alcohol.
Before you could even ring the doorbell or text one of the boys that you had arrived, the door was swung open aggressively, revealing a grinning Seokjin holding a half-empty bottle of tequila in his free hand.  “Y/N!  I almost didn’t believe them when they said you were coming,” he cheered, pulling you inside and engulfing you in a tight hug.  Pulling back a bit to look at you, his eyebrows raised in amusement.  “And I can tell you already started drinking.  The old Y/N is back!”
“Hey, I knew I had to have a few shots beforehand if I was going to be able to tolerate all of you,” you joked, playfully shoving his chest.  Your eyes wandered upward as he held the bottle of tequila up as an offering over your mouth, quirking a challenging eyebrow at you.  Rolling your eyes, you leaned down and opened your mouth beneath the bottle, allowing him to pour a generous amount of the potent liquid into your mouth.  As you swallowed, you noted how it went down without much misery.  That was usually a good sign that you were tipsy.
“Taking it like a champ!” Seokjin chanted, draping an arm over your shoulders as he took another long swig from the bottle.  “We should probably head in there before the guys get mad at me for keeping you to myself.”
“Good idea.” You giggled, affectionately wrapping an arm around his waist for support.
Before the two of you could even round the corner, you were stopped by a stumbling Jimin who practically threw himself onto your body, curling his arms around your waist and burying his face in your hair.  “Y/N, you’re finally here,” he slurred out, his fingers digging into the skin on your lower back.  Seokjin gave you an apologetic look before chuckling to himself and leaving the two of you alone.  “Did you get my texts?” He kept his arms wrapped around your waist as he pulled back a bit to meet your eyes, flashing you a huge grin with half-lidded eyes.  God he was plastered, but you were just tipsy enough to enjoy his affection.
“Yes, and I see you’ve already claimed your hug,” you greeted with a giggle, poking one of his dimples.  “That was about all I could make out from the complete nonsense you were sending me.”
Jimin’s eyes widened as he grabbed your hand from his face, messily intertwining his fingers with yours.  Leaning in, his lips brushed against your ears.  “You got my text that Yoongi is here, right?” he attempted a whisper, but his voice came out quite a bit louder than that.
It took a moment for your buzzed brain to fully comprehend the meaning behind his words.  Once they finally sunk in, your eyes widened.  Sure Yoongi was close with Namjoon and was beginning to bond with the other boys, but what exactly was he doing here?  Wouldn’t he have brought it up earlier when you told him you were probably going to be stopping by the party?  Why couldn’t this guy make sense for once?
When your thoughts finally subsided and the shot you had taken just a couple minutes before started to set in, you simply decided to squeeze Jimin’s hand and offer him a warm smile.  “It’s fine, Jimin.  We’re fine.”
“Nooo, you don’t understaaaand,” Jimin drawled out, completely giving up on trying to whisper this time.  The music was loud enough anyway that there was likely no need to worry.  “He told Hoseok and Namjoon last weekend that there was absolutely no chance he’d show up to our party.  He hates parties,” he explained, reaching down to grab your other hand as well.  “Now all of a sudden this afternoon he decided he was on board.  Me, Namjoon, and Tae have a conspiracy theory that he’s only here because he found out you’re gonna be here.”  Jimin’s eyes closed shut for a few moments and he stumbled back slightly, catching his balance at the last moment.  “Woooow, I’m drunk.”
You weren’t going to overthink this.  You were not going to let Min Yoongi ruin your one night to relax and have a good time.  Sure he did find out that you were likely going to be here when you told him this afternoon, but that was obviously a mere coincidence.  Perhaps he had just decided to not be a stick in the mud for once in his life and try to let go.  That was definitely it.  Wrapping an arm around Jimin’s waist to steady him, you began to walk towards the chaos that was likely occurring in the next room over.  “Don’t be ridiculous.  Let’s go have some fun and get you some water before you’re puking all over everything before people even start showing up.”
“Water.” Jimin chuckled to himself as he unsteadily followed by your side, leaning much of his weight into you.  “That’s cute.  You’re cute.”
Rolling your eyes, you guided the two of you into the kitchen, immediately being met with a parade of loud cheers from the six other guys who had been waiting for you (probably five cheering voices, since you weren’t exactly convinced Yoongi was involved). Speaking of Yoongi, although you refused to meet his eyes just yet, you could feel his eyes burning through you. While this action would usually make you quite uneasy and jittery, the alcohol was doing you another favor by allowing you to brush it off.
“It’s about time.” Taehyung flashed you his signature boxy grin and draped an arm over your shoulders. “What was going on over there? Were you and Jimin having a secret meeting or something?”
Reaching up to ruffle his hair, you nodded and smirked. “Yeah, actually we were…” you trailed off, your eyes setting on the various handles of liquor spread across the counter. “We were actually discussing how you’re a bitch if you don’t take a shot with me right now.”
There was an uproar of “ohhhh’s” from most of the boys that echoed throughout the whole room, followed by Taehyung’s booming laughter.  “Wow, I forgot how much I love feisty, drunk Y/N,” he commented, lining up two shot glasses on the counter and filling them with what was either silver tequila or another random flavored vodka.  God you were going to hate yourself in the morning for mixing so many different types of alcohol if you didn’t slow down soon. After handing one of the glasses to you, he clinked his against yours.  “Cheers to you.”
Giggling to yourself, you downed the shot, noting how it went down even easier than the one before.  You were in trouble if you kept moving at this pace.  However, you were aware that the house would be filling up with people outside of your immediate friend group shortly and that was enough reason to keep drinking.  As was Min Yoongi’s burning presence.
“I still haven’t forgotten about that party last time when you and Jimin beat me by one cup in beer pong,” Namjoon directed at you, chuckling to himself as he shook his head.  “Rematch now.  I’m taking Hoseok this time.”
“Ah, sore loser,” you retorted, sticking your tongue out at him.  Your eyes wandered over to Jimin who was leaning against the refrigerator with his eyes closed, no glass of water in sight.  He clearly was not beer pong partner material at the moment.  Continuing to weigh your options, you noticed the way that Yoongi stared at you with his arms crossed over his chest and a raised eyebrow, almost as if he was challenging you to choose him.  You were too into this whole barely acknowledging his presence game to pick that route.  Finally, your eyes settled on an oblivious (or maybe nervous) Jungkook who was nursing a cup of beer in one hand and mindlessly staring down at his phone in the other.  Perfect.  Walking around Taehyung, you approached the younger boy and poked your finger into his side.  “Kookie, let’s kick some ass.” Out of the corner of your eye, you noted the way Yoongi’s eyes remained on you, but they became colder the moment those last words left your mouth.
“How daaaare you pick another partner?” Jimin scoffed, his eyes still closed as he wobbled to the side, catching his balance on the counter.  Oh boy.  God help whoever was stuck taking care of him tonight.
Jungkook’s eyes widened and his mouth fell into an ‘o’ as his eyes finally met yours, his fingers fumbling around his phone and almost causing it to fall.  “M-Me?” he questioned, his cheeks becoming rosier by the second.  “Are you sure?”
“Of course.” You smiled and wrapped your arm around his waist, resting your head against his arm fondly.  “I help you with your photography project, you help me maintain my pride.”
“O-Okay…” Jungkook’s arm stiffened in surprise at first, but he forced the nerves away and smiled warmly at you and hesitantly draped his arm over your shoulders.  As Namjoon and Hoseok led the way into the other room with the beer pong table, the younger boy guided the two of you behind them.  “Anything for you.”
Not only did the music drown out the sound of Jimin hurling into the kitchen sink, it also did a good job at masking the sound of Yoongi’s scoff and the way he immediately downed his full drink.
Despite Namjoon’s cocky attitude, you and Jungkook proved to be an unstoppable match, beating the other pair three games in a row.  The party proved to be a lot more fun than you had expected and would ever dare to give your friends credit for.  Shortly after you had started your first game of beer pong, the other friends and acquaintances of the boys started to file in.  It seemed like the guests never stopped arriving and those who came never wanted to leave.  Even after nearly three hours, the house was still quite full.  Although still quite tipsy, you found yourself hungry and tired, longing for your bed and a box of pizza.  Taehyung had suggested you just stay the night to avoid ubering back by yourself so late at night, but you were sick of the noise and mess.  Your social battery was quickly running out.
Sighing to yourself, you closed the front door of the house behind you and sat down on one of the front steps.  Staring off into the darkness, you started to plot your escape.  You didn’t want Taehyung or any of the other boys to worry about you too much, but you knew that they would immediately notice if you were gone for too long.
Before you could think too much, your thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the front door opening and closing yet again.  Instead of watching the backs of another group of guests leaving, you felt somebody plop down beside you on the step.  As you looked to the side, your breath hitched in your throat.  “You good?” Yoongi asked, tired eyes searching your face.
God, if your social battery was already on low, you couldn’t even imagine how long ago Yoongi’s had run out.  You were shocked he had stayed nearly this long.  His tired eyes pleaded with yours, perhaps begging you to not make a fuss and just be civil with him for once.  Biting your lip, you nodded your head.  “Yeah, I’m fine,” you replied, looking off to stare into the street lights again.  “Just exhausted and in desperate need of some quiet and some food.”
“God, I feel you.  I think I’m going to have an eternal headache.” Yoongi chuckled to himself, letting out a deep breath as he ran a hand through his hair.  He seemed so… Calm.  So… Normal.  It was a bit jarring, but comforting at the same time.  “I don’t think you’re going to find any restaurant open right now, but I ordered pizza for dinner and have a lot left over at my place that I’m willing to share.  It’s also definitely quiet there.”  The words seemed to roll off of his lips so casually, as if this was something common for the two of you when it was anything but that.
Turning your head to look at him, you raised an eyebrow.  As you scanned his face, you couldn’t find any traces of disingenuity; it seemed as if he really intended to invite you over his place to hang out as if you were friends.  While this would have been intriguing on any normal day, it was extra intriguing with the bit of alcohol’s effects remaining in your body and your deep desire to leave the party.  Finally, you asked, “What’s the catch?”
“Hmm…” The corner of Yoongi’s lips perked up the slightest bit, his teeth digging into his tongue to prevent himself from laughing.  “The catch is you have to spend time with me.  I can see how that might be difficult for you, especially after you’ve spent the whole night avoiding me.”
Your eyes widened as you looked away, warmth flooding your cheeks.  You hadn’t actually expected him to notice the little game you were playing, at least in your head.  “I wasn’t avoiding you,” you immediately shot back, refusing to meet his eyes.  “I was just… Busy.”
“Ah, I know.  Very busy.  Crazy how you just seemed to disappear every time I tried to approach you,” Yoongi teased with a smirk playing at his lips, rising to his feet.  After stretching his arms over his head briefly, he turned to face you and extended his hand.  “So are you coming or not?  It’s only a five minute walk up the road, and I’d recommend you decide quickly before I rescind my offer.”
After staring at his offering hand for a moment, you sighed before grabbing onto it and allowing him to pull you up.  “Only for the pizza,” you retorted, although the small smile on your lips informed the both of you that that was far from true.
Despite being perfectly capable of walking on your own, Yoongi’s hand remained wrapped around your own.  While you initially had some concerns that it would be awkward between the two of you, the conversation flowed naturally the entirety of the walk to his place.  Whether it be laughing about the random guy at the party who attempted to get with every single girl there or even poking fun at some of the freshmen in your history lecture, you had plenty to talk about.  Maybe it was the alcohol, but there seemed to be something deeper there.
After arriving at his place and noting the surprising cleanliness of it, the pair of you found yourselves sprawled out on his couch in the living room with two slices of heated up pizza a piece.  It was beyond relieving to finally have some peace and quiet, and the taste of the pizza was immaculate.  This was exactly what you needed.
Wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, Yoongi raised an eyebrow at you.  “Aren’t your boyfriends probably worried that you disappeared?”
Taking a big bite out of your crust, you rolled your eyes at the boy beside you and nudged his thigh with your foot.  “They’re not my boyfriends, and I already told them I left.”
“Hmm, interesting.” Yoongi smirked to himself and pushed your foot away from him.  “What about your little Kookie?”
“You’re awfully interested in my relationships with my friends,” you teased, leaning back further against one of the pillows and draping your feet over the armrest.  “We’re just friends.”
“Okay, okay.”  Yoongi chuckled and leaned forward to place his empty plate on the table in front of the couch.  Once he fell back against the couch, his eyes scanned your face.  A long silence fell upon you as he chewed on his lower lip, almost as if he was contemplating saying something.  When you opted to sit up straight again and positioned yourself a bit closer, he finally broke the silence.  “You know I never mean to hurt your feelings or offend you or anything like that, right?”
Swallowing the nervous lump that had formed in your throat, you stalled by busying yourself with putting your plate on top of his, wiping your hands against each other.  “I mean, I can see that now,” you admitted, allowing your eyes to meet his.  “But I never really know what to make of it all.”
Yoongi sighed to himself, looking down as he fiddled with his fingers.  You were glad to see that you weren’t the only nervous one here.  What had begun as a surprisingly fun and carefree hangout seemed to be morphing into something else very quickly.  If there hadn’t been any alcohol remaining in your system, you likely would’ve run from the tension.  Yet here you were, watching as Yoongi poked the inside of his cheek with his tongue.  “I’m just really bad at flirting, I guess.”
Your eyes widened as you allowed yourself to process what he had just admitted, staring at him as he attempted to look anywhere that wasn’t at you.  All of those little jabs and insults had been flirting?  Sure, you were aware that a lot of people used teasing to flirt, but that was usually after you had established some sort of foundation and it was made clear that that was the intention.  Either you had been overreacting all along, or he was right– he was really bad at this.  A jittery feeling filled your stomach as you looked down, occupying yourself by playing with the ends of a strand of your hair.  You hated yourself for still being so intrigued with him, but you couldn’t help it.  He truly was an enigma.  “You were… flirting?”
“Trying to, at least.” Yoongi let out an emotionless laugh, sounding rather disappointed in himself and likely a bit embarrassed.  After another moment, his eyes found yours.  Rather than look away, his eyes remained fixed on yours and a mesmerized look took over his face.  It was rather unclear whether it was a genuine newfound sense of confidence that spoke up next, or if it was the alcohol talking.  At that moment, something in him snapped.  “I just… You’re so fucking adorable and it really frustrates me because I just don’t know how to act around you for some reason.  I’d noticed you around campus before this semester but never really knew how to approach you.  When I saw you were in my class, I thought I finally had a shot, but I clearly fucked that up from day one.  Still don’t think I’ve even fully forgiven myself for making you cry.”  Letting out a huff, he leaned his head back on the pillow and stared up at the ceiling.  “Everything you do is just so fucking… Ugh.  How much a perfectionist you are, the short sundresses, the way you don’t even kind of realize the effect you have on people, it’s all just… Fuck.  I’m so used to just getting my way with people so easily, but it’s such a challenge with you.  I can’t decide if it’s more frustrating or alluring, but it doesn’t even matter.  You’re all I fucking think about these days.”
Swallowing thickly, your eyes scanned his face to search for any sign that he might be lying, but you found nothing.  Instead, he leaned back against the couch with his eyes closed, a hand raking itself through his hair.  He looked so… Frustrated.  Defeated.  You did this to the typically unbothered, confident Min Yoongi?  Biting your lip, your eyes trailed along his jawline and up to his lips.  Not only did he look discouraged, he looking so fucking… Good.  The apprehensive feeling that had taken over your stomach morphed into a pool of heat, slowly sinking lower and lower.  This was the Min Yoongi you had always imagined; a vulnerable, introspective boy who also happened to have a face that looked like it was sculpted by the gods themselves.  And here he was, confessing to you that you basically had him wrapped around your finger and at his will.  While this twist was certainly exciting, the feeling of dominance that came along with it had you feeling turned on.  You might not be good at words, but you certainly were good at communicating physically.
You hadn’t realized that you had completely zoned out until Yoongi was sitting up straight, panic in his eyes as he rapidly shook his head.  “I can’t believe I just said all of that… Forget it.  I’m sorry and I understand if you want to leave.”
Blinking a few times to snap yourself out of your daze, you shook your head at him.  Unable to find the right words, you rose to your knees and lunged forward, wrapping your arms around his neck and slamming your lips into his.  Instead of being met with the warmth and rhythm of his lips that you so craved, he pulled back a bit.
“Wait, are you sure?” he questioned genuinely, but his eyes became dark as they trailed down to your lips, longing to taste them again.  “I don’t want you to do something you might regret.”
“Yes, I’m sure about this and I’m also sure that you’re talking a whole lot.  It’s a bit much, don’t you think?” you teased, mocking the phrase he always used whenever he’d make fun of you in class.  Moving your hands up a bit, you tangled your fingers into the hair on the back of his head.  “You know, you probably should’ve led with some of that nicer stuff instead of being such an asshole.  Would’ve worked wonders for you much sooner.”
Yoongi’s entire demeanor seemed to shift as your words, a sense of relief washing over his face.  A smirk tugged at the corners of his lips as he finally wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you into his lap.  “I would’ve if you didn’t frustrate me so much.  Don’t know how to act around you.”  Finding his statement efficient enough for now, he at last closed the gap between the two of you, his lips slamming back onto yours.  His fingers slid up the back of your shirt and dug into your back, causing you to moan into his mouth.  The parting of your lips allowed him to slip his tongue into your mouth, the taste of him overwhelming you.  The pool of heat and desire in your stomach continued to sink down lower, becoming evident in the wetness in your panties that was soon going to become noticeable if your short skirt kept rising up.  Shifting yourself to straddle one of his thighs, you grinded down against it in an attempt to find some relief.
A groan from Yoongi caused you to pull back, taking a moment to catch your breath before you began to pepper wet kisses down his jawline.  You were too far in at this point and there was no turning back now.  As his hands slid down from your back to cup your ass, your lips found their way to his ear.  “How can I make it up to you?  You know, for frustrating you so much and all.”
Yoongi clenched his thigh in response to words, eliciting a moan out of you as the fabric of his jeans created friction against your wet panties.  “You’re playing a dangerous game asking questions like that.”
“Mmm, I think that’s what I’m trying to do,” you cooed, pecking his lips a couple times before kissing your way down to his neck.
“Bedroom.  Now.”  Before you could continue, he lifted you off of his lap and placed you on your feet on the ground.  He rose up beside you and wrapped his arm around your waist, quickly leading you out of the room and down the hall.  The moment he dragged you into his room, one of his hands departed from your body to slam the door shut and roughly press your body against the back of the door.  His lips roamed the skin on your neck for a few moments before his wandering hands abruptly tugged your shirt up and over your head, ignoring the way he forced your arms to twist.  Once the piece of clothing was discarded on the floor, his eyes fell upon your exposed skin, widening when he realized you had not been wearing a bra.  He took a step back, a combination of lust and what almost appeared to be admiration filling his eyes.  “God, are you trying to fucking kill me?”
Biting on your lower lip in an attempt to hide your growing smirk, you raised an eyebrow at him.  You could feel your ego being boosted and it was in that moment, just like that time a few days before during your run-in with him at Taehyung’s place, that you realized again just how much it got you off to feel in control over him.  After having dealt with him making fun of you and watching you unravel under his gaze so many times, it felt incredible to have him like putty in your hands.  It was clear by the dazed look in his eyes that he was at your command now, and this was finally a situation you felt comfortable taking control over.  “Don’t tell me you’re going to die on me already.  I haven’t even gotten started with you yet,” you teased, tracing your finger down his jawline at a tantalizingly slow pace.  “Take off your shirt.”
Yoongi’s eyes widened in surprise for a moment before he obliged to your command, quickly pulling his oversized t-shirt over his head and throwing it in a pile on top of yours.  It was obvious he had become accustomed to being the one holding power over you, and this shift had caught him off guard.  “A little bossy, don’t you think?”
“Get used to it.” Eyeing his bare chest and stomach slowly, you planted one last wet kiss onto his lips before dropping to your knees in front of him.  You ignored the way his eyes were practically bulging out of his head as you unhurriedly undid his belt and unbuttoned his jeans, dragging them down his legs and making sure to keep his boxers in place on his lips.  Despite his surprise, he eagerly stepped out of his jeans and kicked them to the side, a hand moving to rest on the top of your head.  Your mouth watered as you eyed the hardening bulge through his tight boxers that were already stained with pre-cum, leaning forward to just barely press your lips against the tip of his cock through the fabric.
Yoongi’s fingers threaded through your hair as a suffocated groan escaped his lips.  “Y-You know, I had planned on going down on you first.  It’s the least I could do.”
Ah, of course.  He was just as predictable as every other man you had slept with, and the point had been affirmed by all of your female friends you had discussed it with as well.  Let them go down on you first, they always said, knowing that if they did the job well, you would be a begging, submissive mess, hanging onto their every command for the rest of the night.  While there was nothing wrong with submitting sometimes, it just didn’t get you off quite as much as taking control did.  The stakes were even higher when the other person was Min Yoongi, who had just so graciously admitted to you earlier that he was so used to getting his way with people and feeling in control.  Despite your arousal, you couldn’t give him that satisfaction.  Not yet, at least.
“Mmm, no thanks,” you hummed nonchalantly, keeping your eyes on his as you used your teeth to grip onto the waistband of his boxers and slowly drag them down his legs.  Once you reached his ankles, you pulled back and took a moment to admire his fully hardened cock pressed against his stomach.  It was not the longest you had ever seen, but the girth of it had you clenching your thighs together at the thought of what it would feel like inside of you later.  Licking your lips, you grasped a hand around the base of his length and leaned forward, grazing your tongue against the head to lick up the pre-cum.
“Fuck,” Yoongi muttered under his breath, his other hand moving to tangle into your hair as well.  “I wouldn’t recommend too much teasing, sweetheart.  You’ll regret it later.”
Ah, already making threats in an attempt to feel in control.  This was going to be too easy.  You wanted him to beg, though.  Chuckling quietly to yourself, you locked eyes with him as you flattened your tongue against the back of the base of his cock, slowly licking your way up along the protruding vein until you reached the top again.  “Oh, no,” you teased, beginning to pump your hand up and down.  When your hand reached the top, you brushed your thumb back and forth over his sensitive tip.  “I’m so scared.”
Whimpering softly, Yoongi’s eyes screwed shut as he craned his neck back.  “Please, Y/N,” he groaned, giving your hair a rough tug.  “Need your mouth.  Now.  Please.”
There it was, the begging you had been waiting for.  All it took was a bit of teasing for the cocky Min Yoongi to lose all sense of pride.  “Well, I guess, since you asked so nicely.”  Smirking at your victory, you leaned forward and wrapped your mouth around the head of his cock.  Once you had hollowed out your cheeks enough to accommodate for his girth, you began to bob your head up and down and use one hand to pump the rest of his length that wasn’t in your mouth.
“F-Fuck, babe, just like that,” Yoongi groaned out from above you, trying his best to keep his eyes open despite the immense pleasure surging throughout his body.  Once you had adopted a rhythm after a couple of minutes, you removed your hand from the base of his shaft.  Yoongi immediately noticed its absence and moved a hand to the back of your head, slowly beginning to urge you forward further down his length.  “Fuck, you’re doing so well.”
Your eyes remained on his as you allowed him to slowly fuck your face, watering as you fought against the urge to gag.  The sound of his quiet moans of your name encouraged you further.  When you could tell he couldn’t take much more, you leaned forward to take the rest of his length in your mouth, bottoming out as your nose touched the skin on the bottom of his stomach.  Sucking in a deep breath through your nose, you swallowed gently around him, allowing his cock to feel the tightening of the muscles of your throat around it.
Yoongi released his loudest groan yet, eyes screwing shut as he shook his head. “F-Fuck, stop, stop,” he whimpered out, letting go of the back of your head.  “Don’t wanna cum before I even get to be inside of you.”
Fighting back the urge to smirk yet again, you slowly worked your mouth backwards until you released the tip of his cock with a loud ‘pop.’  Using the back of your hand to wipe the string of saliva that was hanging out of your mouth, you slowly rose to your feet to meet a flushed Yoongi.
Clearing his throat, he raised an expecting eyebrow at you.  “You know, I would like to return the favor first.”
“Hmm.” You couldn’t deny that your core was throbbing at this point, begging for any sort of release.  Still, your ego had you wanting to maintain the dominance you currently had over him.  Pressing a peck to his lips, you reached down to unbutton your skirt, shimmying it down your legs along with your soaked panties.  “Think I could sit on your face?”
For the umpteenth time that night, Yoongi’s eyes enlarged to the size of saucers as he looked you up and down.  It felt like an eternity that he stood there frozen and you could practically see a bubble above his head that read ‘Yoongi.exe has stopped working.’  When he at last realized his distraught state, he blinked rapidly and cursed beneath his breath before nodding.  “Uh, yeah… That works.”  God, he really was speechless.
You failed to suppress an amused laugh as he quickly made his way over to his unmade bed and laid on his back, his short-term flustered demeanor quickly being overtaken with a cocky smirk.  While this shift left you wanting to take control again, you couldn’t wait any longer at this point.  Sauntering over to the bed, you made your way onto your knees over his face as you faced his stomach, slowly lowering down until you hovered just above him.
Yoongi let out an amused chuckle, the release of warm air from his nose making your wet pussy throb.  “God, babe, you’re already soaked,” he mused, reaching his hands around and gripping them tightly around each of your thighs.  “You really got off that much just from sucking my cock, hmm?”
His words had you whimpering above him, gasping as he urged your body lower and barely ghosted his lips over your clit.  The need for power was gone for now.  You needed him to do something.  “P-Please.”
Another laugh had you clenching your thighs around his head, begging for any sort of friction.  “Come on, babe.  I bet you were feeling pretty good about yourself thinking you were in control, hmm?” His nails roughly dug down into the skin of your thighs.  “Please what?”
Letting out a frustrated huff, you closed your eyes tightly as you moved your hands up your body, wrapping around your breasts.  You knew you had to give in.  “Please fuck me with your tongue.  Anything, please,” you moaned out, pinching at your sensitive nipples to feel any sort of pleasure as you waited.
“Was that so difficult?  That’s all I needed to hear, babe,” he hummed from beneath you, reaching up to grab your hips and urge your body down lower under your pussy rested gently over his mouth.  Once he adjusted to the new position, he opened his mouth and slowly began to run his tongue along your folds.  It wasn’t until he received a few satisfactory moans from you that his tongue began to gently circle your clit, somehow hitting the spot right where you needed him.
“F-Fuck, Yoongi.  Right there,” you moaned out loudly, absentmindedly lowering yourself down a bit more to increase the friction.  Your eyes closed shut in pleasure as he replaced the circling motion with a soft sucking, a string of profanities leaving your mouth as you pinched your nipples harder.  God, it hadn’t even been long and you could already feel the knot in the pit of your stomach building, dying for that beautiful release.
After a few more moments, Yoongi urged your body up a bit so he could speak coherently.  “Come on, babe.  Be a good girl and fuck yourself on my tongue.”
A whimper escaped your mouth as you lowered yourself back down onto his now-flattened tongue.  Once you had applied the right amount of pressure, you slowly began to rock your hips back and forth.  At the top of each motion, his tongue managed to hit that perfect spot on your sensitive bud, bringing you closer to your orgasm with every jolt.  Yoongi could sense that you were getting close as your movements became sloppier, encouraging his nails to dig deeper into your thighs and hum against the lips of your pussy to increase the sense of friction.  This proved to be all too much for you and the pool of heat in your abdomen snapped moments later, your orgasm overtaking your body as you loudly moaned out Yoongi’s name.  The high was almost too much to handle; you were left seeing stars as Yoongi continued to fuck you with his tongue until you couldn’t take it anymore and moved off of his face with shaky thighs to collapse behind him.
Yoongi sat up quickly moments later, refusing to wipe your release off of his face as he marveled at your breathless form before him.  “Holy shit, that was so fucking hot,” he breathed out, and you swore you could see his cock twitch against his stomach.
When you finally fully came down from your high, you propped yourself up on your elbows to observe the wide-eyed man staring down at you. “Glad we were finally able to find something that mouth is good for.”  Your tongue poked out to skate over your lower lip as you admired the glistening of your release shamelessly left around his mouth and the head of his cock glowing an angry shade of red, just begging to experience the same release.  The mouth-watering sight had you aroused again at an embarrassingly fast pace, and it was only moments before you gripped onto his arm and roughly pulled his body on top of yours.
Yoongi’s mouth eagerly met yours, bringing you into a messy battle of teeth and tongues.  As he felt you attempt to buck your hips up into his, he began leaving a wet trail of kisses up your jawline until he was barely an inch from your ear.  “Think you’re ready to take my cock already?  God, you really are a needy, dirty slut, huh?”
His words had your clit throbbing and your body without any patience left.  You’re perceptive enough to know that he had been waiting even longer than you and likely couldn’t take waiting any longer either.  Reaching down between your bodies, you wrapped a hand around his shaft and guided it toward you, slowly rubbing the tip up and down your wet folds.
“F-Fuck,” Yoongi groaned out, eyes looking down to admire his cock against your clit before meeting your own.  “Want me to grab a condom first?”
Whimpering at the feeling of his tip brushing against your sensitive bud, you bit your lip.  “I’m clean and I’m on the pill.  It’s fine as long as you’re clean.”
“I’m clean too.” Yoongi nodded his head rapidly, reaching down to replace your hand with his own around his cock.  “Such a dirty slut wanting me to fuck you raw.”  Without any further warning, he placed the tip of his cock at your entrance and bucked his hips forward, slowly filling you with his length.
The sudden stretching of your walls caught you off guard, a loud gasp breezing through your lips as your head fell back against the pillow.  The initial shock of overstimulation washed away in an instant, a feeling of deep pleasure in the pit of your stomach replacing it as he slid all the way in.  When you realized he was remaining still, you opened your eyes and dug your nails into the skin on his back.  “Y-Yoongi, move.  Please.”
“G-God, so fucking tight and wet for me.” His forehead fell upon yours and he pressed a shockingly gentle kiss to your lips before propping himself up and beginning to thrust in and out of you at a rapid pace.  “Taking my cock so well.”
Whimpering quietly, you moved your legs to wrap around his lower waist and hoist your body closer to his, attempting to match his movements and feel him even deeper inside of you.  At the new angle, it wasn’t long until he adjusted his hips so the tip of his cock was pounding against your g-spot with every single thrust.  You knew you were not going to last long.  Without even realizing, you clenched your walls around him.  “F-Fuck, you feel so good.”
Yoongi let out a loud groan as he buried his face into your neck, his teeth clamping down on the exposed skin.  “Fuck, babe.  I’m not going to last if you keep doing that.”
It was almost as if his desperate words reignited the same fire for dominance you had been feeling earlier, suddenly recognizing the power you held over him.  Despite feeling quite close to orgasm yourself and enjoying the position you were in, you knew you’d get off even faster if you were to take control of the situation.  Tightening your legs around his waist, you used all of your strength to flip your body over so you were on top of him.  Pressing your hands against his chest, you pushed yourself up into a seated position, moaning loudly as his cock was able to fill you up even deeper in the new position.  “Mmm, that’s better.”
Yoongi initially looked at you in shock, but the moment that you sunk down his length, he threw his head back in pleasure.  “Fuck, what’s with you needing to be in control?” The clear implication of the question was that he was used to being the dominant one, and this switch was catching him off guard.  Regardless, he maintained his composure and propped his head up on the pillow, placing his hands on your hips as you began to bounce up and down.  “Yeah?  You like getting off by fucking yourself on my cock?”
Throwing your head back, you dragged your nails down his chest as you began to grind your hips in figure-eights, feeling that all-too-familiar warmth quickly building up in your stomach.  The sound of your skin slapping against his and echoing throughout the room only intensified your arousal, your hand moving to your clit in an attempt to reach your release sooner. “I-I’m close.”
“I’ve got it, babe,” Yoongi murmured, wetting his fingers against his tongue before pressing two of them against your clit and beginning to rub the sensitive area in small circles.  His breathing was quickly becoming as jagged as yours, his groans more frequent.  “C-Close, too.  W-Where?”
Although his question was quite vague and your mind was clouded from your orgasm that was quickly approaching, you understood what he was asking you.  Opening your eyes to meet his, you ground your hips against his harder.  “I-Inside me.  Please.”
“Fuck, that’s hot.  O-Okay.”
Yoongi’s fingers quickened in pace against your clit, his own hips lifting up off of the mattress to meet your thrusts.  The new sensation of fullness triggered your second orgasm, your eyes slamming shut as your walls pulsed and convulsed around his cock.  The feeling was even stronger than the first one, and although your mind was quite foggy, you’re sure that you were left practically screaming out his name as you desperately gripped onto his arms for any source of stability while you rode out your high.
After witnessing the euphoric look on your face and the feeling of your pussy clenching around his cock, Yoongi’s orgasm followed just moments later.  A loud groan escaped his lips as he sat up straight and wrapped his arms around you, his forehead resting against yours as the feeling of ecstasy flowed throughout his body.  The incoherent noises leaving his mouth continued as he pulsed hot streams of cum inside of you, filling you up completely as he tiredly lifted his hips a few more times to fuck it deeper inside of you.
When you were finally able to catch your breath and the tingling sensation left your body, you opened your eyes and were surprised with his closeness when you realized that his forehead was resting against yours.  Something about the position felt so intimate to you, and despite having just been fucked senselessly by the man in front of you, you were left suddenly feeling a bit… Shy.  Maybe it was the last remnants of the alcohol wearing off or maybe it was the fact that you had just come crashing down from one of the best orgasms you had ever experienced, but you suddenly felt so vulnerable in front of no one other than Min Yoongi.  Chewing on your bottom lip, you slowly lifted your weight off of him and collapsed down beside him, throwing an arm over your eyes as you let out an exhausted yawn.  You knew you were good at sex.  What you were not so good at was what usually came after it; the uncomfortable conversations and trying to figure out whether or not the other person wanted you to stay or go.  The tension that had existed between the two of you before all of this had occurred left you even more on edge.
Yoongi fell back next to you moments later, a huff escaping his lips as his head hit the pillow.  Although your arm was covering your eyes, you could feel his eyes glued to your face.  “Wow, what the fuck was that?  Not what I had imagined you being like,” he exhaled, and you could feel his weight shifting closer to your body.  “I’m so used to being in complete control… Didn’t expect to like it so much when it’s not like that.”
Smiling to yourself at your victory, you allowed your arm to fall away from your face, opening your eyes to meet his. “You live and you learn.”
A shockingly warm smile overtook Yoongi’s features as his eyes trailed down your body, stopping when they reached your thighs.  Suddenly, he sat up straight before pushing himself off of the bed and getting onto his feet.  “Fuck, sorry.  I’m gonna get you a towel to clean up.”
“No worries.” You offered him a reassuring smile, sitting up as you watched him disappear out of the room.  Once he was gone, you exhaled a deep breath you hadn’t even realized you were holding in.  His question was valid: What the fuck was that?  Your mind wandered back to the heated conversation you were having before throwing yourselves at each other, trying to recall the confession he had made to you.  The post-sex dreariness was setting in and you were finding it difficult to recollect just what he had said and what the implications behind it were.  You remembered him saying something about how you were all he could think about, but that likely just meant he was physically attracted to you, right?  Had you wanted him to mean more than that?  The pit growing in your stomach suggested that perhaps you did, and perhaps you should get out of there before you got too upset about it.  It would make sense if it was only for sex to him, especially since you were aware of his past and how he was used to getting his way with girls.  You needed to get out of there before it became more than just sex to you too.
Your eyes wandered over the edge of the bed, spotting your top within reaching distance from where you were.  Right as you were about to reach down to grab it, Yoongi barged back into the room.  He was now clothed in an oversized t-shirt and a fresh pair of boxers.
“Sorry for the wait, but I got you a towel fresh out of the dryer.”  He lingered in the doorway for a moment, eyeing you curiously for a moment before shutting the door behind him.  “Also brought you some sweats and a t-shirt to sleep in.  A hoodie, too.  Wasn’t really sure what you’d want so I kind of brought a little bit of everything.” His eyes avoided yours as he reached up to rub the back of his neck. “You can also shower if you want, but I figured you’d be tired and could just do it in the morning.”
You blinked a few times as you studied his oddly nervous demeanor, taking in the meaning behind his words.  He had wanted you to stay?  Was he just being respectful, or did he really want you there?  Reaching forward to grab the towel he left on the edge of the bed, you looked down as you started to clean yourself up.  “Oh, I didn’t know you wanted me to stay…”
Yoongi remained silent for a few moments, his eyes finally falling upon your face as he sat down on the edge of the bed.  “Huh?  Why wouldn’t I want that?”  There was genuine confusion laced into his voice as he anxiously tapped his hands against his lap.  “Wait, I did tell you I was interested in you earlier, right?  I… I was nervous so I wouldn’t be surprised if it came out the wrong way.  I tend to do that a lot around you, apparently.” A jittery chuckle escaped his lips as he looked down at his lap.
An excited rush burst throughout your stomach, a smile threatening to spread across your lips as you finally allowed yourself to look at his distraught form.  You were feeling hopeful, but you needed to make sure.  “I mean, you said something along the lines of being attracted to me and wanting to get to know me, or something like that…” You were well aware that such probing was only going to make him more nervous, but you needed to hear him say it.
“Ah, right.  I’m seeing now how that’s kind of vague.”  His cheeks were flushed bright red, but he finally allowed his eyes to meet yours.  It was like the cocky, vocal Yoongi you had just experienced fifteen minutes prior and the smol bean hunched over beside you were two completely different people.  Offering you a shy smile, he rested a gentle hand on top of your thigh.  “I like you.  I really do want to get to know you better.  I’m sorry we did this, uh, kind of backwards.” His free hand reached up to rake through his disheveled hair.  “But I was thinking that maybe tomorrow we could study for our history test during the day and after that, there’s this nice new restaurant that just opened down the street that I was, uh, thinking about taking you to.  You know, only if you want, though.”
It was nice to see Yoongi let his guard down, and it was even nicer to know that you were the cause of it.  Smiling to yourself, you grabbed the sweatpants and hoodie he had left on the edge of the bed, moving the dirty towel to the side as you began to dress yourself in his clothes.  Your head lingered for a few moments in the hoodie before pulling it over your head, inhaling the scent of his laundry detergent and cologne.  While you did appreciate his openness and his confession left you feeling quite jumpy, you knew you couldn’t turn down an opportunity to tease him even further.  “Oh, so now you’re just using me for my notes, huh?”
Yoongi’s face fell as you spoke, but the moment he noticed the teasing smirk spread across your lips, he rolled his eyes and shoved your shoulder.  “Just because I’m not as neat doesn’t mean I’m not as diligent.”  Scooching his body over until he was beside you, he shook his head as he pulled a blanket over both of your laps.  “You know, I don’t appreciate the teasing when I’m trying to be vulnerable here.”
Giggling to yourself, you leaned back until your head hit the pillow.  Pulling him down beside you, you rested a hand on his cheek.  “I can agree to all of your plans under one condition.”
Raising a curious eyebrow, Yoongi moved his body closer to yours and draped a leg over both of yours.  It was clear he was quickly becoming comfortable again.  “And what might that be?”
Running your finger along his jawline, a small smirk stretched across your lips.  “We go for round two first thing tomorrow morning.”
Yoongi appeared to be caught off guard at first, but it wasn’t long until he was laughing along with you. “God, you really are a bit much.” His tongue swiped over his lower lip as he appeared to think to himself.  “I can also agree to that under one condition.”
Your finger stopped moving along his face as you tilted your head to the side.  “Oh yeah?  What?”
Smirking at you, Yoongi’s hand trailed down your back before he gave your ass a playful squeeze.  “Before the semester ends, you promise me that we break into our lecture hall one night and you let me fuck you over the table while you wear that yellow sundress.”
“God, how long have you been fantasizing that one for?”  The mischievous look spread across his face told you all you needed to know.  Laughing loudly as you closed your eyes, you snuggled your face into his chest, quickly becoming accustomed to viewing his warmth as a source of comfort.
“Deal.”
strike
part 3 of the ‘hey batter batter’ series
pairing: Francisco Morales (Frankie, Catfish) x reader
wordcount: 2k
warnings: extremely mild mentions of sex, unwanted advances that don’t get far (not by Frankie)
summary: it’s a Triple Frontier baseball au - trust me, you don’t need to know anything about baseball.
In this chapter, we learn that a ‘strike’ is when a batter misses the ball when he swings, even though he shouldn’t have. And some strikes don’t just happen during baseball.
>>
“Jimbo, I'm here!” You called as you kicked the door closed behind you, arms heavy with grocery bags. Your grandfather would be in the living room, no doubt impatiently waiting for you to unload so you could watch the baseball game together. It was a few states away, which meant the two of you could enjoy evening on the couch with affordable snacks and air conditioning. Games in person were more exciting, but climbing all those stairs wasn’t great for his knees, and it was nice to chat with him without the roar of the crowds.
There was a faint squeak to his favorite rocker, and you unloaded half the bags onto the coffee table – his favorite treats – before tossing the rest haphazardly into their places in his little kitchen. You raced the commercials, listening to the final advertisements with one ear as you hurried to get yourself settled, even though he was always happy to chat with you during the game. For these times with him, you hated to miss even a moment. The chair to the left of his was yours, newer and softer and it would have been the perfect evening, eating and catching up with your favorite man.
Except this was the first real opportunity for him to grill you about your unexpected lunch with his heroes.
There had been laughter in his voice when you had tried to call him afterwards, and he had told you he would wait to hear the story. To him, even over the phone you couldn’t hide how flustered you were, just moments after Francesco’s eyes had been in yours. All things considered, he had been more than patient, so as you fidgeted and you kept your eyes on the screen, you told him what had happened as casually as you could.
It was the top of the first inning – the very beginning of the game, and his boys were mostly crowded into the dugout. Their fingers were grabbing fistfuls of sunflower seeds or pulling on batting gloves or hanging on the wire, watching as Will walked up to bat. There was a fun country song playing, and it was surreal, thinking it had just been a few days since he had tossed a chunk of fried food into the air and his brother had caught it in his mouth. James thoroughly enjoyed you story, laughing and for once not lecturing you about leaving them alone to live their lives. He seemed approving, proud of you for taking a change, and proud that the boys from his favorite team did his favorite granddaughter well. You answered this questions and indulged his excitement over the little things, trying not to reveal too much of your own daydream fodder. Thinking of Francisco’s eyes as he laughed at the Miller boys, you grabbed a pillow to give your hands something to hold onto, to ground yourself.
The camera panned over to Tom adjusting his cap and without thinking you winced. When you realized that James had caught the movement, you winced again.
You had to explain, then, the biggest detail that you had glossed over – the only one that would disappoint your grandfather. The outfielder had looked at you with confidence and hunger in his eyes. His fingers on your hand left cool, invisible lines, slimy like residue of the stadium cup holders.
James listened with sad eyes, before he was reaching over, gently squeezing your hand, and asking about Will’s family in town to find out if he knew a relative. It was kindness - changing the topic, rewarming the memory as he coaxed out more details of their interactions with you and each other, making you blush and laugh and smile.
The discomfort that had been lodged in your heart regarding the athlete  lessened as you remembered that they were all human. It had been clear the other players respected him, maybe even looked up to him, and that had to be good for something. Even though it had just been a lunch, a single moment in time, the assessments of a group of open hearted baseball players already held weight on your opinion.
As you began to tell James about a joke Santiagio had told, you noticed that Tom’s turn had come and gone, and he had struck out.
-
Every professional sports group had a second team, full of people who pushed papers and cleaned locker rooms and handled press conferences. One of these people was a woman who was in charge of sorting through and organizing special fan appearances.
Flipping through applications and mail, she would have hardly noticed the broad shoulders and hazel eyes of the man who entered, had he not kissed her breathless the night before.
For all they were on and off and she knew he was a player in all senses of the word, she couldn’t help but stand, and let his hands find her hips as he pressed into her.
“Hi, Tom,” she whispered, already dazed and adoring as his beard scraped at her neck, warm and insistent.
“Hey, babe,” he returned, absentmindedly, squeezing her hips before pulling away. There was something about his eyes, the way he held his head, like his shoulders were comfortable bearing the weight of others, like he’d prefer it that way, that made him seem like a natural born leader.
She knew him better. He had the crowds and the rookies and the managers and even his brothers on the team wrapped around his fingers - the perfect mentorship allusion, but she knew. There was another side to him, a darker side, filled to the brim with pride and arrogance and power. Of all the men who flashed smiles as they shook hands and carried kids on their shoulders for photos – he was the one who preened the most. There was a hunger in his eyes, even greater than when he’d love her, when a chance came for him to do an extra interview, put some senior input in, or take a newbie to his first after party.
Still, she loved him. Too much, maybe, but her mind whispered not enough, and she hungrily took what ever he would give her. There were always flowers and jewelry and coveted high-status sex in his apologies, anyway, and she knew he’d always come back to her, eventually. She knew better than to guess.
“What can I do for you?” she asked, star stuck in spite of it all, but knowing there must be something. His “cousin” had stocks in the team, or a certain string needed to be pulled. There was always something.
When he asked for the number of a girl from a few weeks ago, there was an all-too-familiar twist in her gut.
“Tom, you know that information is confidential,” she whined, masking her fear, turning back towards her desk. It was infuriating how disarming, intoxicating, and how solid he felt behind her, how smooth his words felt on the shell of her ear.
“It’s for Benny, babe, he’s got it bad for her,” it was a lie, but she didn’t know it, and the knot in her stomach loosened a little. His hand slipped under her blouse and it came undone, submitting entirely to the façade.
“Let me help the little guy out.” For all his charisma, she wanted desperately to believe he was sincere, so she did. Her hands started steady as she opened a thick binder and began flipping through the glossy dividers. She moved as slow as she could, hopelessly savoring his touch, knowing when it was gone, the unpleasant feelings would be just as strong.
But it didn’t take long to find you number and hand it over, and exchange more heated kisses and half promises before he slipped out.
The woman settled in her chair again, fingers tracing the letters of your name, the knot reforming below her breastbone. She reached for her phone, telling herself it was a courtesy, to give you a heads up.
-
When a player was about to steal second base, you always wondered if Santiago Garcia could tell, without even looking. If he could feel it in his bones, or if the hairs on the back his neck rose, against his sweat.
If he could, that was exactly how you would feel now, walking into the bar to see only Tom Davis waiting for you. The building was dim, strategically chosen by Will, allegedly, so they could drink in peace. As before however, there was no hiding the silhouette of a man like him, not when he was oozing confidence like sap from a tree.
When he had called you, it had been so shocking you had agreed without thinking. It was surreal, but like following a trail of candy through a forest, not at all like the knights in shining armor of before.
He swung his arm around, cocky smile across his face, and you shook his hand.
There could not have been a more awkward boundary made, but he laughed it off as you considered turning tail and running. It was ridiculous, but you couldn’t help how guarded you felt alone with him, so you turned to the polished woof of the bar and ordered a lemonade. It would buy you time, anyway, to reassess.
You had always thought of baseball players as beer guys, but he had a short glass of something gold and expensive, as if he were trying to prove a point. Slipping onto the stool next to him, you set your bag in between you like a wall. He was broad and he pulled close, making you almost press against his side, giving you the opportunity to realize his skin almost cold. Slow sips reminded you that there was no basis for your feelings, and you were the one being strange.
It wasn’t bad, talking to him. You chided yourself internally, thinking you made unfair assumptions. Really, he was a nice guy. He talked highly of his friends, even defending their lateness, taking the blame for the mix-up. It felt like one of those interviews your grandfather would watch sometimes, the way he could go on about himself and somehow tell you nothing at all. Fighting your instincts to give short, guarded answers, you found yourself sharing about your life more than you expected. Not a lot, but not nothing either.
It was awkward and nice, not unlike a first date and when his large hand covered yours, it didn’t feel half as slimy as before.
A spider’s web was feather-light, so subtle it was almost impossible to feel until it was too late.
His eyes were sharp and deep and certain as he shifted closer, and you felt dazed, despite all the alcohol you hadn’t consumed.
When he leaned in, though, a thought struck you. With his deep hazel eyes, the perfect beard, and tanned skin, he looked like a prince. Not our prince, though, it was just someone else’s fairytale.
Clarity and your own confidence warmed you like a jacket one rainy day, and you touched Tom’s cheek, holding his face at enough of a distance. You shed the web before it stuck and something flickered in his eyes – doubt, maybe, or something like fear, as you spoke the most prominent thought on your mind.
“What about Molly?”
-
When he heard you, again speaking words that weren't meant for his ears, warm pride shot through his chest.
That’s my girl.
Of course you weren’t, but it felt like you were.
You turned to him like you knew he was there, hand leaving Tom’s stunned face to wave at the grinning catcher.
Frankie had been at war with himself across the bar as he looked towards the two of you, heart wrenching. He had seen from the far side the room first how close you were to the other man. It was unreasonably terrifying to see that you weren't immune, to see you consider his friend. Then he saw how non responsive you’d become to Redfly, how politely you regarded him as he lathered on the charm. By the time he reached the two of you, he found you fully awake, handling it yourself.
When the woman had called you, her voice had betrayed something. It was formal conversation, just admitting she had shared your contact information, and disclosing that it was Tom, and he’d made it clear you guys were friends. Her tone, however, told you she was territorial and jealous, but also desperate, longing. It felt right to get out of the way – that’s what you and she wanted and you sort of thought that’s actually what he wanted, too. He was moving away from you, still processing, trying to play off the moment, and even more than pity, you felt a touch sad for them.
Still, you were impressed you were able to manage yourself. It was the same confidence that had filled you when you stood up for James, a confidence that came from a feeling that whispered something good was coming, something well worth the boldness.
When you felt a warm presence at your side, you felt even more sure. It felt wonderful, the way Francisco was looking at you. It was too early to read into it, but you were sure you wanted him to look at you like that again - like you were capable of telling mountains to move.
You smiled up at him, relieved, and he couldn’t help but beam back, wanting to hug you. He wasn’t feeling quite brave enough yet, but there was a resolve settling in his heart. There was no way he was going to leave your side tonight.
The other guys came quickly. Each of them was excited to see you again, and you pretended not to notice them shooting confused glances at Redfly when he slipped outside to spit on the ground and stare at the sky.
It didn’t take long for him to rejoin you, anyway, and his shoulders seemed lighter, his eyes just a little more thoughtful.
The group as a whole accepted you into their fold like they needed you, like each one of them had missed you when you were gone, like you missed them, like you belonged there from the start.
You had no idea how long the daydream would last, but in that moment it didn’t feel like it mattered at all. Collecting stories for James even faded as a priority as you just enjoyed the feeling of the glass in your hands, the laughter in the air, and teasing the men like they were just boys. Even after the last half hour, it was easy to trust Will’s sincere tone, and Ben’s eager blue eyes. The others were grounded at your side, steady and comforting - you felt yourself open like a flower to the sun.
There was something about the shape of the catcher at your side, safe and warm, like his presence was reaching for yours, aching with yours. Through the stories and the jokes you relished it, and his eyes made it clear that you weren’t alone. And even though the universe made it abundantly clear that you had no idea what would happen next, you didn’t feel any need to hurry. Fate seemed to know what she was doing.
In the darkness of the bar, only Santiago’s eyes saw Frankie’s hand find the small of your back.
Ongaku to Hito 2018/11 - 京 interview
If anyone is curious as to why I do not post word-for-word translations usually, here you go hahah. It is so horrible but hey, it was a short interview and not all of the translated sentences are awkward, so perhaps you can still gain something from reading this. You can still sense the poignant nature of Kyo’s statements. Somebody asked me to expand on the notes that I had posted back then.
-          What have you heard from people who listened to the new album (The Insulated World)?
I haven't heard anything. In the first place, there are probably no people around me who have listened to it outside of interviewers.
-          Don't you care about how the listener feels or reacts?
These days I don't care. It can't be helped if you care about that one by one (?). I just consulted with Kaoru-kun and asked him when to work on the next single.
-          You're too quick *laughs*.
I want to move forward to the next (project).
-          You talked about the whole album in the latest PHY volume, but now I want to focus on the theme of the new album. I think this is the first time that your feelings are expressed so specifically.
It wasn't a conscious decision, but maybe this is the first time that the album has such a high concentration of those songs. Up until now, albums maybe had two or three songs like that, but it isn't a first.
-          Not only the words, but the content that you sing remains consistent.
Up until now, if an album had 10 songs, I would write them with different messages and perspectives. It was the story type and balance that I was aware of in the albums. Now, it's come to feel clever.
-          You wanted to leave more to the instinct?
That's right. I also like the pictures that I draw with more scrutiny, but isn't it more powerful to follow the momentum of a single brush stroke? Is that the kind of thing I want to do now?
-          Which type do you think is yours? Do you do it with concentration or do you leave it to the instinct?
I don't know, I can't view myself objectively. I defer to how I feel in the moment. Sometimes, I want to do it in detail and sometimes I want to do it in a single stroke. I don't know if it's a cycle or why it changes.
-          You can't control that sensation.
Or rather than saying that I can't control it, I don't think that I would do it. Usually, after such a career,  people in the music business think "that's my individuality" and they settle into things that they are comfortable with. But I don't like that. I feel like I'm alive by sticking to something called "my individuality".
-          I think that there are people who think that "the strength is consistent from beginning to end".
I think that it's cool if someone sticks to that personality, but I don't want to be that way, because I'm not satisfied with myself at all.
-          You also mentioned that in the previous interview.
Yeah. My anxiety towards myself only increases as I get older... I think that I would be very desperate if I met myself when I started playing in bands. Something like: "Huh? Seriously? Is that so?"
-          Is it that painful?
Maybe if I looked at myself now, I would think that I stopped being in bands. Saying: "It's that tough? Well then, let's find something else."
-          However, this new album contains poetry from a person who suffers from such anxiety and despair. If it were someone in their 20s, it could still feel  unripe, but it's a mature adult who is still suffering like that because he cannot recognize himself.
That's right.
-          So we can come to terms with ourselves somewhere, live normally. But since it's Kyo-kun, you can't.
That's right, I can't. For example, I think that a lot of our fans are also getting older together, everyone will grow up. Whether it's at work or in a home environment, growing up in such situations, we don't say that we are worried or that it's tough.
-          You simply start coming to terms with it.
Looking around, what I'm singing right now, I don't think that it can be understood very much. Like, "Is that person still saying this?" Actually, when I've overcome that kind of self-consciousness, the lyrics that I write are better. I'm sure that it will connect with adult fans. But I think... to me it remains impossible.
-          I think that it's understandable that fans sing here enough.
No, I think that there are various people. I think that those who can't connect will ever connect at all. So if I wanted to reach those people from the beginning, I wouldn't have written (those lyrics).
-          You're not looking for empathy, from the beginning.
That's correct. As early as the first phrase of the first song, could it be done for real? I couldn't do things such as aim at the bottom or seek for people to sympathize with me. You can only sell yourself. As that feeling passes through the years, it becomes sharper. It feels like my real self is getting cornered more and more.
-          How do you feel about people other than yourself who produce music and lyrics similar to yours?
I wonder... I don't know, but I'm probably happy. There are a lot of people who do what I do, but it's all fabricated or similar to lies. But if there's someone who really does it with pure feelings like me, I'd say "I wasn't the only one" and we would connect. Even if it's a misunderstanding.
-          Maybe if you find someone with an existence similar to yours, you won't deny yourself that much. But you haven't been able to find such a person. That's why you wrote those songs in the album (The Insulated World).
Isn't that so?
-          In other words, what's revealed in those songs is that you feel lonely within yourself. And you're giving up and coming to terms that it's something that will never go away.
The loneliness... It will never disappear. That's my biggest problem. No matter what I do or with who, I'm always lonely. I think that everyone feels some loneliness, but I wonder if everyone is living with loneliness like this? I'm always lonely like that.
-          You have many feelings of being the only one lonely like that?
I don't know. Everyone has felt lonely and I think that they may have experienced something similar. But, everyone... Do they keep living with such loneliness? Do you hide your loneliness and take a peace-sign photo or something? That, it seems that you have a strong heart. Because personally, I can't do it.
-          You think that this kind of person is strong?
I think that they're stronger. Even if they are lonely, they laugh and try hard to move forward. I really admire them.
-          I don't know if it's strength, because they might not see or feel that loneliness.
You can't pretend not to see it. It's in here *hits chest* all the time. Even if I try not to think about loneliness, right here *chest* that's the scene that can be found. It's tough.
-          To compensate these feelings, people could lean toward drinking alcohol, finding a girl, or going to live shows. In Kyo-kun's case, how do you fulfill this?
My job.
-          Hahahahaha
Since you know how much work I do, I think that you can see (what I mean).
-          But work... It can be lonely too *laughs*.
But at the moment I feel like I'm alive only by working, or being involved in bands and music. So I'm still happy with this kind of work.
-          It's really like you said.
When I say my work, isn't it remaining in shape and expressing myself? So only when I'm working, the loneliness is filled. I can't do that elsewhere. Even if I go hang out with someone or something like that, nothing remains... The feeling of emptiness afterward when I come back and am alone again is out of this world. Somehow all alone.
-          By the way, it's something that you said before. Even if you hang out or drink with everyone (in the band) after, you feel yourself becoming cold.
Right. By the way, I went out to eat with the other band members for the first time in a long time. We've known each other for a long time, but me, I didn't know what to talk about.
-          Why?
I don't know. But when I eat with a band member whom I've known for 20 years, it's like that. Everyone was talking in a friendly manner. Somehow... I'm jealous. In those times, when I see people who are having fun, I feel very sad. Like, why can't I just enjoy myself?
-          You can't force yourself to enjoy it?
It would be fun if that was possible. But I can't do it, at all.
-          What do you feel would happen to you if you didn't have a way to express yourself?
Hm... What would happen. I don't know at all. Would I not be doing strings of 100 posts on Twitter a day *laughs*?
-          Hahahahaha
I feel like I would spew out all the bad things. But I don't have to do that because of my work. I do almost everything from home. So, that's going in the right direction for me. I'd say it's not bad at all. But, the loneliness is here all the time. It will never disappear.
-          I was wondering if you would get some balance of mind by doing sukekiyo, but what would you say about that yourself?
Due to the wider range of expression (more songs and different atmospheres), I think it's really good because the songs can be released immediately. But... unlike in DIR, all the members beside me are juniors, so I bear a sense of responsibility, right? I found it a little difficult.
-          Right. I thought that you would evolve and find balance by carrying the band sukekiyo and find it easier to live.
It doesn't change.
-          Yeah. That's what you are trying to convey in this album, trying to find people like that, especially with the song Followers.
I agree. For example...  If I say anything about myself, I suppose that there is one person who understands everything. It seems like I'm going to be the least hurt by going to a place where no one knows me and that I live self-sufficiently, like with that person. I feel it's the only way to live the happiest though...
-          But I think that there isn't anyone like that.
I know that. Like the sense of unity in a live show, I'm always looking for something that seems to be visible and invisible. I knew it was an illusion a long time ago. Even though I understand that, I don't want to give up. If I give up there... I feel like I would break.
-          That's why you've got songs like Followers and Ranunculus here.
Right. No matter how much despair I sing, I still want to see the light. I want to sing towards that. If we stay only in the darkness, we wouldn't be able to move forward anymore.
-          Both songs are (laid) bare, aren't they? Up until this point, I think that you were getting ready to make songs on such innocent feelings.
But in order to make people believe, isn't it necessary for me to have laid myself bare so far? If you try to hide it even a little, it wouldn't be believable. Of course, by exposing myself so far, I'm scared to get hurt in the end. If I open the lid, then maybe only one person is waiting for me there. But for me, that one person is important.
-          You've really always been looking for that one person, isn't that right?
If really, I can convey 100% of my thoughts to that one person, then I don't mind if someone else attacks me. Feelings exempt of impurities, that's what's important to me.
-          That person is why... But I want you to be happy.
But if I become happy, there would no longer be an artist named Kyo. So... It's a cruel world. *laughs*
Showterview.
Elsy + Jessi
elsy appears on jessi’s showterview
hope you guys enjoy! please feel free to leave some feedback because it is always appreciated!
italics = english
[8th Member of Got7/Soloist]
Tumblr media
“Today we are here at the PNation building.” Jessi smiled as she spoke through her mic. She was reading off from her cards. “Someone we are going to meet is in rehearsals, but we are going to be interrupting. I’m sure this person won’t mind.” She let out a laugh, looking straight at the camera. “Let’s go!”
Jessi, plus the camera crew were now standing in front of the door of the dancing room. Giving it a few knocks, Jessi had opened the door, revealing Elsy in the middle of the room.
Elsy had stopped her movements, laughing once seeing Jessi. “Hello, hello.” She said, going in to hug Jessi. The two have met already, even before Elsy had joined the company, but now they saw each other a lot more often.
“Have you heard of my show called Showterview?” Jessi asked Elsy, the girl nodding in response. “Okay, well today you are our special guest.” Jessi grinned.
“Should I be nervous?” Elsy chuckled a bit. She knew Jessi had no filter, which Elsy had no mind with. She felt like she could really be herself around Jessi.
“No, girl. No.” Jessi flipped her hair back. “Who do you think I am?” Everyone, even the camera crew began laughing.
They now sat on two tall, directors chairs to begin the small interview. Elsy having her leg crossed over the other as she listened to Jessi. “Okay, okay.” Jessi began, reading her cards. “Elsy is one of the newest members of PNation after leaving your other company. What made you choose this company, out of all the other companies there is out there?”
Jessi paused for a moment. “I’m not saying this is a bad company!” She laughed out loud. “Sorry, Psy. I’m very thankful to be here.”
Elsy was laughing too before going in the answer Jessi’s question. “Many companies were reaching out to me but it was Psy that kept like pushing for me to join his company. Like he made an effort of continuing to reach out for me to join. He saw my potential as a solo artist, because you know me being in a group for the past few years of my life, it was going to be different and he mentioned saying I needed to show my true color and he wanted to be the one to help me.”
“We even got together one day before I signed and we just communicated about everything, he saw that I would fit great into the company. You know, he didn’t see me as someone who had just left a company and needed to find something rightaway. He saw me as someone who was taking a new step in my career which I really respected. And just talking to him, I felt at ease and felt like I could do a lot and find myself as a person too by joining.” Elsy finished.
“Yeah, I see that too. You’re very different now as a solo artist, but in a good way of course.” Jessi said. “When I first met you it was through Jackson, and you were more filtered about everything. But as time went on you showed me your true self and you kind of remind me of me just a bit.” Jessi laughed with Elsy joining in. “Now, I see that you are more open minded about a lot of things. Which is why I think we get a long so well.”
“Honestly, I feel more free.” Elsy said. “And I feel like I can truly be myself without having to worry about anything. I’m always telling myself I did the right decision.” She smiled.
“I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen you so serious.” Jessi put down her cards. “Everyone, I know the real Elsy. She is the complete opposite of this.”
Elsy couldn’t help but laugh some more as Jessi spoke about her. She was right, when Elsy and Jessi were together it was never anything serious and they would constantly joke around. They got closer than ever.
“She has become very unfiltered since joining this company.”
“No, no! Not true.” Elsy let out a laugh
“Where did you learn English?”
“Growing up, I went to an international school. But honestly I am much for comfortable talking in Korean than English. I just like saying small phrases.” Elsy answered. “Or I only speak it when needing to, like when I was in America for tour and what not.”
Jessi took a look at her cards, looking back up with a smirk on her face as she looked at Elsy. “Ah ha! Even I want to know this. What is your ideal type?”
Elsy coughed up a small snort, letting out a laugh after as well. “Next question please.”
“Nah, nah, nah! You have to answer!”
“No!” Elsy exclaimed. “I don’t really have a type, honestly. If I like you then I like you. Just have to be respectful towards me. And you know, love me for me.” She answered honestly.
“Mm, yes. That’s always good when looking into a person. Can’t change for anyone.”
Elsy nodded her head, agreeing with Jessi as the girl got comfortable in her seat again. She looked down at her cards then back at Elsy. “You live alone right?” Elsy nodded again as an answer. “How was the transition of living with nothing but guys to living alone?”
Elsy was about to answer until Jessi interrupted. “Wait, wait. How was it like living with nothing but guys? That’s what I wanna know first. Did you have privacy?”
The girl let out a small chuckle. “To be honest. It wasn’t that bad. At first it was a little awkward but I got used to it really quick and all of the members were very open with me. They were still themselves.”
“When you say open, do you mean they openly walked around naked?”
Elsy laughed super hard at the question, going forward. “Not exactly what I meant but there was times that did happen.” She chuckled. “But I was definitely not phased by it- I feel like I shouldn’t be talking about this. Such a TMI.”
“It’s okay, girl. In this show we live for TMI’s. Well I do.”
Towards the end of the interview, the two girls were now standing in the middle of the dance room, learning each other’s choreographies to their songs. They had started off with Jessi’s, Elsy already getting it down quickly.
“Be more sexy, Elsy. I know you can!” Jessi exclaimed. The music began and they began to start dancing to Jessi’s song.
Moving on the Elsy’s, Jessi had gotten the choreography rightaway. “Now in mine you gotta act tough, kind of like a boss bitch- op.” Elsy went to cover her mouth from her choice of word. “Are we allowed to curse on here?”
Jessi laughed. “Yes, it’s okay. I need to act like a boss bitch? Easy.”
Jessi had done with smoothly until she added her own flavor to it, causing Elsy to laugh and grab her arm. “That’s not how you do it!”
“Yeah, but this is Jessi’s way.” She said looking at the camera. “And that is a wrap, thank you guys for watching! I had a lot of fun with my good friend, Elsy. Is there anything you would like to say?”
“I also had fun today, so thank you for having me. Please invite me for next time, maybe.” Elsy smiled. “And as for everyone, thank you for supporting me on my solo debut and I can’t wait to come back.”
“See you next time, bye!” The two girls waved goodbye, ending the interview.
mind games [part eleven]
masterlist | part ten | part twelve
zuko x fem!reader fluff, angst smau (it has the social media elements, but not as much as the last series)
avatar: the last airbender
summary - being zuko’s best friend is the easiest thing in the world. until he gets a girlfriend and you realize you’re in love with him
warnings / includes  (this counts for any/all chapters) - fighting, suggestive, language, crying, alcohol, cheating, talk about injuries, making out, alluding to sex, talks about sex. you are sokka and katara’s older sister. you, mai, and zuko are seniors in college, sokka and suki are juniors, katara, aang, and toph are sophomores.
note - so for this one im gonna be switching pov’s. so for the first half it’ll be 2nd point of view with y/n and the second half it'll be like 2nd point of view but with jet (hope this made sense lol)
————
“so, how has living with jet been?” aang asked.
“really good,” you smiled. “he’s a really good housemate. he cooks, actually cleans. doesn’t mind that i had to take up a little more closet space.”
“wow, sounds like you have the perfect man,” suki smirked. “i do,” you sighed dreamily.
you and jet had been dating now for a little more than 4 1/2 months. you two decided that it was time to move in together. you two had already practically been living together so it seemed right to start the next phase of your relationship. you weren’t at jet’s, though. you were at an ice cream shop downtown with your friends.
living with jet was amazing, as stated, but you rarely saw your friends. college was coming to an end, too. with you and between that and looking for jobs and picking up extra shifts at the JD, it had been very busy. but you had just finished all your finals and was now ready to graduate in the next week, so you were able to relax, finally.
“how about you guys, how have you been?” you asked.
“really good! i can’t believe you won’t be at school with us,” katara frowned.
“yeah, i hate to admit it, but i’m gonna miss you,” sokka said.
you chuckled, “thanks, sokka. well, i’m not planning one really going anywhere. i’ll just be out of school, which thank the spirits for that.”
“must be nice knowing you don’t have to deal with finals anymore,” toph suck her tongue out in disgust.
“yeah, i definitely won’t miss that,” you snorted, taking a bite of your ice cream cone.
“have you found a job yet?” toph asked. ”i’ve found a few. i have yet get interviews, though. i’m waiting until the july to so i can enjoy there summer,” you explained.
“makes sense. we’ll miss you at the JD,” katara said.
“yeah, you’re the only one who makes good frappuccinos,” aang chortled.
“i know. zuko and katara just can’t grasp the recipe,” you teased.
“i can! i just prefer to make the tea. it’s a lot easier,” katara deafened.
“don’t worry. i agree,” you smiled. your phone vibrated on the table.
you turned it over, seeing that there as a text from zuko.
“is that zuko?” aang asked. “yeah, how did you know?” i asked.
“he’s been missing you lately,” sokka explained.
“oh, really? we hung out a couple weeks ago, though,” you said. “exactly. he knows you been busy so he hasn’t asked you to hang out yet, but we told him you’re less busy now,” aang said.
“oh,” you frowned. “well, he asked if we could hang out today. you guys okay if i go?”
“yeah, of course! we’ve been here for hours, anyways,” suki said.
“great. still on for the sleepover tonight?” you asked, getting up and grabbing your purse.
“you know it! have fun,” katara smiled.
“will do,” you smiled back, waving goodbye at them.
you walked to your car, getting in and driving to your friend’s and sibling’s house. you parked in the garage, going in and seeing zuko on the couch.
“hey, stranger,” you smiled, taking off your shoes.
“hey, long time no see,” zuko smiled, getting up. you hummed in reply, opening your arms out and hugging him.
“i’ve missed you,” zuko whispered.
“i’ve missed you, too. i’m sorry i haven’t reached out,” you sighed, pulling away.
“no worries. we aren’t kids anymore. we have our own life,” zuko smiled reassuringly.
“right. so, you said you wanted to talk about our plan?” you asked, walking over with zuko to the couch.
“yeah. so, how do i approach her?” zuko ask. “well, i wouldn’t suggest doing it over a date. do it at night so you can go somewhere else and sleep immediately. you two are living together, right?” you asked.
“yeah,” zuko nodded. “great, well, just tell her you need to talk to her. don’t hint at anything, be neutral about it all and break the news to her,” you explained.
“easier said than done,” zuko chuckled.
you furrowed your brows and studied his face, seeing the guilt and confusion in his eyes. you leaned against the couch and put your hand on his forearm comfortingly.
“are you sure you want to do this?” you asked. “i am,” zuko nodded.
“are you sure? like 100% positive?” you checked with him.
zuko chuckled, “yes, i am. plus, i…i like someone else.”
your eyes widened, “o-oh. this is new info. who is it?” your heart started to race and you began to feel very nervous thinking about who he could like.
“i’d rather not say just yet,” he said, averting his gaze from you.
“alright. well, no pressure,” you smiled softly. your phone then started to vibrate in your back pocket. you pulled it out, seeing that jet was calling you.
you answered it quickly. “hey, babe, what’s up?”
“hey, when’re you coming home?” jet asked.
“oh, um…” your voice trailed off as you looked at the clock. “tomorrow? i’m hanging out with zuko right now, and you know i’m having a little sleepover with the girls.”
“oh, right,” jet muttered. you furrowed your brows as he sounded annoyed and sad. you stood up off the couch, holding your first finger up to zuko to let him know you’ll be back in a minute.
you walked into the kitchen and leaned against the island counter. “hey, you sound sad. everything okay?”
“yeah, i just miss you,” jet sighed. you smiled, “i miss you, too, but i haven't seen zuko or my friends in a while.” “i know, i know. i wasn’t going to make you come home, don’t worry,” jet said.
“i didn’t think you were. i know you’re understanding.”
you and jet sat on the phone in an uncomfortable silence for a few minutes before you spoke up. you did a little awkward cough before speaking.
“so, um, i better go,” you said.
“oh, yeah, yeah, of course. i’ll see you tomorrow,” jet said.
“see you tomorrow. i love you.” “i love you, too,” jet smiled, hanging up the phone.
he sighed and gently threw his phone on the bed. he laid down, running his hands through his hair and down his face. he felt so jealous. so jealous of you and zuko. he knew it was silly since you have been nothing but loyal to him, but the unwanted thoughts of you and zuko still crept into his mind every so often. he was thankful you two didn’t live together anymore and that you lived with him now, but jet was beginning to think that wasn’t enough.
even though you and zuko weren’t living together and didn’t hang out as often, you two were constantly texting and calling. jet often found you downstairs late at night texting zuko, smiling and laughing at whatever he said. it made jet’s blood boil to see another guy making you happy, especially since it was a known fact - not between you and zuko, though - that you had a thing for zuko a while back. jet was positive that you still had a thing for him, no matter how much you denied it.
he sat up on his bed and grabbed his phone, getting up and going to the only person he knew would understand; mai.
he drove to her house, going up and knocking on the door. mai answered the door almost immediately, a surprised but pleasant smile on her face.
“hey, jet. what’re you doing here?” she asked.
“i was just seeing if you were free. y/n and zuko are hanging out, and we haven’t hung out in a while,” jet shrugged.
“right, right. well, come in,” mai held the door open for him. jet stepped in with a smile, walking into the living room.
“i like what you did with the place,” jet noted, looking around at the new furniture and decorations. there were a lot more brighter colours than he remembered.
“thanks. ty lee said i should make the place more lively,” mai chuckled.
“glad you took her advice,” jet smiled.
mai nodded, “are you hungry? i was just about to eat some leftover pizza.”
“yeah, sure. you got any beers?” jet asked.
“yep,” mai said, going over to the kitchen. “make yourself comfortable!”
“thanks,” jet said and sat down on the couch.
mai came in with a pizza both and a six pack bottle of beer. mai and jet watched tv for a while, getting drunk on the beer. after a while of silence, mai decided to ask jet about what he thought about you and zuko.
“so, you jealous of zuko and y/n, too?” zuko asked.
jet’s brows raised, “w-what?”
mai smirked and turned fully to him. “that’s the reason why you came here, because of zuko and y/n.”
jet sighed, turning to her. “yeah. you caught me.”
“they act like they’re dating each other,” mai rolled her eyes. “zuko is always like “y/n this”, “y/n that”, “look what y/n said”, “sorry, i’m talking to y/n”. god, it’s all so annoying.” “and they always stay up late talking to each other! like, i understand they’re each other’s best friends, but we’re here, too.” “right!” mai nodded. “i wouldn’t be surprised if they were making out right now.” jet frowned and looked down. “you think they are?”
“mmm, i wouldn’t doubt it,” mai shrugged.
jet looked up at mai, his eyes meeting her’s. he studied her face for a few moments, his eyes roaming her face and stopping at her lips. mai noticed his gaze and smirked, scooting closer to him. she put her hand on his thigh, her fingers snaking up his leg.
“m-mai, what’re you doing?” jet stammered. his heart was racing a million beats per second.
“c’mon, we both know zuko and y/n are in love with each other. plus, i’m pretty sure zuko is going to break up with me soon. let’s just have some fun, okay?” mai gave jet a flirtatious look, biting her lip and batting her lashes.
jet sighed, looking into mai’s eyes. he knew in his heart that you weren’t cheating on him with zuko, or anyone, but the just thought of you with zuko, kissing him, running your fingernails all over his back, moaning his name, it clouded jet’s mind with anger and fear. without thinking rationally, jet smashed his lips onto mai’s.
both melted into the kiss immediately, grabbing at each other and pressing themselves closer to each other. after a few moments of kissing, jet pulled away, looking a mai with wide, shocked eyes. the kiss with mai honestly felt amazing.
mai smiled at him, taking his hand into her’s. “wanna go upstairs?”
jet nodded furiously, getting up off the couch, mai leading him up to her bedroom.
milk + instagram live (t.h.)
I traveled to London (and Oxford), England in March of 2019 for my spring break my sophomore year of university, so some things mentioned here are entirely from personal experience, so please don’t hate me if you’ve experienced something different! I stayed at a hotel in between West Kensington and West Brompton (a few blocks away from West Brompton Station) and one day some family members and I decided to attend a local showing at a cinema nearby and it was SO. DIFFERENT. than the theaters I had been to in the States. IDK, maybe it was just me. The entire experience was like culture shock again in the few days I had been there, so I had to bring that up in this little piece. Also the thing about milk is something I have genuinely wondered about, cause I’ve heard it’s different in England than it is in the USA, but I may be wrong. Let me know! Anyways, I have big love for London (and supreme love for Oxford, sorry) and I’m looking forward to going back someday soon!
The reader is non-celebrity and American, so I’m sorry if that feels exclusionary to any of you, honestly! I thought this might be just a little fun jaunt because I don’t really write real person fiction. Just a bit of fluff.
Sorry for this long intro. Enjoy and let me know what you think! xo
+ + +
It’s some sort of exclusive interview for a magazine or something of the sort, you’ve been told; a collection of questions they want you to answer to publish somewhere, to print as something special for one of Tom’s things. That’s all you know. It’s just something you agreed to do after his publicist had asked a few weeks ago. It wasn’t like you did this for a living, so there was an attitude of nonchalance about it all because if they ended up not liking it one bit, they could scrap it all and no harm, no foul.
“Now,” the interviewer begins, a man in his 40′s with balding hair and a slightly crooked nose, sitting in the chair across from you, “I know you just announced that you got married, so congratulations, firstly--”
“Oh, thank you,” hands folded on your lap, smiling sweetly. You know people want their well-wishes to be heard and recorded, but sometimes it’s easy to imagine a completely private life, fame free, in which this isn’t the biggest news in the world (or just the biggest news for a day in the entertainment industry in the United States and England); a life where this is just a normal thing that normal people decide on, there’s a celebration, and that’s really it. It’s not splashed on newspapers and trending on Twitter, even though that can be a fun thing.
“I’ve been really happy these last few months since we got married and was excited to tell all of Tom’s Instagram followers,” there’s a break for a small laugh from you, “There’s been such an abundance of well wishes from everyone and I’ve felt so incredibly lucky because I know not every woman who has been in my position has recieved such a reception.”
The interviewer gives a move of his head in recognition of your words, but his eyes are already flying down the paper he holds in front of him, “There have been quite a few changes that have happened, I’ve been informed, and the first is that you decided to move to London!”
“Ha, yes,” you begin, nodding, “Not only did I just completely intertwine my life with another person’s, but I moved to an entirely new country. There’s definitely a lot of culture shock that has happened these past few months.”
The interviewer kind of chortles along with you, but the awkwardness has already settled in and you can feel it because you are the literal worst at small talk. And that’s all this interview is.
“Any cons you’ve listed already about residing here amongst us?”
“Oh no,” you groan dramatically, trying to lighten up the mood, a hand coming to cover your eyes for a moment, “you have to promise not to tell my husband, because I do have a few things actually.”
“I make no promises, as this interview will be completely up for grabs,” The man holds up his hands and you’re a little disappointed that he doesn’t seem to want to play along with the joke.
You brush it off, though, because he’s either nervous or he’s here for a few questions to be answered and then he wants to be out of here. You get it; you have a job, too, that sometimes squeezes the patience out of you.
“Well for one, the local cinemas are just set up so different than the ones I went to all the time in the States. I still have to prepare myself for the experience every time,” there’s a little bit of an awkward pause.
“We have different cinemas?” He asks, like he’s suspecting something more; something deeper. Maybe he wants something more scandalous? You nod along, though, smiling softly at his confusion. It has always felt funny trying to explain this.
“And I miss people smiling at me in public, on the tube or in the more crowded public spaces where I don’t really know anyone. People are literally so lovely when they invite me into their homes to eat with them and stuff like that, but I’ve only got one reaction from someone for smiling at them. Most of them just stare for a second or ignore me entirely! I don’t know, maybe it’s just me.”
He shrugs, not quite sure what to say to that, because he’s not at fault for it. It seems most people know what you’re talking about when you say this and you’ve garnered that it’s a cultural thing for the most part. You don’t fault anyone for it.
“Also,” your hand comes to scratch at a place above your left eyebrow, “I know this is weird, and I don’t even know if it’s entirely true, but I haven’t drank milk in the months since I’ve moved here because I heard in America that milk is made differently here or something like that. I haven’t been able to gather up the courage to find out if it’s true or not, and I mostly drink water or juice or whatever else so my husband hasn’t bat an eye yet. I just don’t want to ruin my previous experience with milk,” You shrug your shoulders and laugh. Your hands come unclasped and you hold them out in a surrender-like gesture.
Your final answer seems to startle the interviewer, because his laugh is surprised and maybe a bit shocked and leaves just as quickly as it came. The rest of the short conversation, lasting only a few more minutes, continues smoothly. After sitting around in the office for a little while longer, you are free from the place and from (hopefully) ever having to do this again without Tom. Your schedule is blissfully empty for the rest of the day, a Saturday, so you eventually make your way home.
- -
“What’s this I hear about your fear of English milk?” The door opens first and then the voice follows.
Of course, that would be the first thing he says to you after a whole day of not seeing each other.
“Good evening, darling, how was your day?” You quip from the couch, what’s left of your cup of tea gone cold on the coffee table parallel to it. “Oh my day was fine, Tom. I’m glad you’re the one who does the regular rounds with the press, not me, because I was so awkward today. How was yours?”
You hear his keys clink against something, probably the kitchen counter, and then the rustle of a bag. It takes a second but then you see his hands grip to top of the sofa as he leans down towards you. There’s a quick kiss that comes before he rights himself. The marital bliss has not faded away yet given that adoring look in his eyes. It is the same look he gave you standing right across from you the day of your wedding, the same one you saw four months ago on your honeymoon, and the one he gave you last night while getting ready for bed as he brushed his teeth.
“I got something from the shop on my way home,” He wiggles his eyebrows and you know some part of you saw this coming from a mile away.
You know now that the shop means the grocery store because a few months ago you had asked him what the term meant (“it’s so vague, though,” “darling, I’m not going to waste my breath calling it the ‘grocery store.’”). (There are still many British terms you have yet to learn.) You allow yourself to sit up and then turn around to meet him as your knees come to dig into the cushions. Now you both are almost at the same height.
“God, I hate you,” You chuckle, leaning towards him.
“The ring on your finger says otherwise, love,” You roll your eyes but then press an elongated kiss to his lips. There’s a few moments where he gets some in down your neck and behind your ear before he pulls away.
“C’mon,” He says, pulling your arms and almost vaulting you over the couch and onto the cold, hard floor, “to the kitchen we go! You need to drink some milk.” It takes a few more minutes for you both to actually get there, but then he grabs the carton from the bag and a glass from a kitchen cupboard.
He pours a little at the bottom of the glass, not even filling it up a quarter of the way. Part of you wants to shudder, part of you is feeling adventurous enough to be excited. But then he pulls his phone from the pocket of his jeans and asks if he can go live on Instagram. For a moment you consider saying no, simply because you’re not sure if you want to open yourself up to the world of Tom’s Instagram followers watching you try your first taste of non-American milk, but then you decide “why not?” It can’t do any real harm, right?
Tom hands the glass to you and you place it on the counter in front of you as you sit down at a stool. You can see the moment on his face the live video starts and a second later he quickly explains the situation.
It does not take you much longer to become a viral internet meme.
