#tag talk#I feel good cause a new friend at work said something about how my boyfriend hasn't talked much to him since meeting me#And I was like uh oh I do not want to be that bitch#and I know he's been trying to organize some kind of game might and I was like rip you can't get him to play stardew valley with you#and I don't like stardew valley so I was like hey what about minecraft? because if I get them playing together on a realm then It's fixed#so anyway now I might have a new server and friend group to play with and hopefully I'll be less in the way of the preexisting friend group#because I'm really conscious of when I'm the reason stuff goes poorly so I don't wanna be a reason friends don't hang out anymore.#cause that shit sucks. jealous girlfriend type can go die I ain't about hogging people I don't feel good about it.#I just want everyone to get along and be friends#I'm putting in the work to learn bedrock mechanics. that's how committed I am to this. I hate variations on an established base.#it's the autistic in me for sure. I loathe multiple versions of songs. there can only be one true version. one right answer. all else is bad#so the slight discrepancies between bedrock and Java drive me absolutely nuts bonkers up the wall#I read a really good twilight fanfic and it rewired my brain and now I'm forever mixing up which is cannon and which is fanfic#because my brain immediately booted the version I preferred less and installed the new fanfic version as the correct right version#anyway. I'm hunting tutorials that actually explain the mechanics and taking notes so I know how to adjust the designs for aesthetics#because you need the minimum mechanical base to work before you can ad lib a building style and design onto the structural framework#I figured out the iron farm mechanics so tomorrow I think I'm gonna work on gold farm stuff. and redstone I just want to learn myself

Icarus, and the Sunflower
A Desert Duo/Scarian AU about an avid player meeting his favorite, comfort character in a death loop video game.
I can’t write a fic, nor have time to draw comics like i used to, so we are doing bullet points on a tumblr post
PART ONE: BEFORE THE ALPHA TEST
PILOT: PART TWO
2.1k words below the cut
SOME BEGINNING NOTES: - This AU is only character shipping, and references a lot outside the life series events (evo, hermitcraft, empires, etc). This is not meant to ship the CC’s themselves and if anything alludes to it, it is purely unintentional. - This is not canon-compliant ermmmm i do what i want and i will put every idea i have into this - Tags for this part? Game dev AU, Grian is whipped for Scar, some characters are real and some are fictional, this is only the pilot, absolutely not beta'd i only have one impulsive braincell
A. Gria
Gria is a single man in his late 20s; he works at a game company called E.V.O. Games (Entertainment Virtual for Everyone). He was an architecture graduate who dabbled in game dev in his spare time during his undergraduate studies. Although he didn’t pursue that path, he utilized his skills in level design. He used to work in several indie game companies, one of which was a company founded with friends, before he was hired by E.V.O. Games. He was excellent at his job, and his ideas and inputs always improved whatever project he worked on. Because of this, after a few years, he was promoted to creative director.
His latest project was “The Evolutionists’ Portal,” a 3D pixel-style puzzle game in which the player has to navigate the world to find portals hidden in each level, and these portals progress the game. With each portal traveled into, the world becomes bigger and more complicated, making each portal harder to find. However, with multiplayer, this task is easier through working together (and doing fun shenanigans together).
It had a buggy release, especially for multiplayer, but it built a decent player fanbase; the story itself was short and simple, but it was replayable thanks to its multiplayer mode.
For visualization, it’s 3D with a top-down perspective like “Pokemon Diamond/Pear/Platinum” but has gameplay similar to “Stardew Valley”
Gria and his team get along well, and he is quite close to some of them:
Martyn: an audio engineer. This is the first game he’s worked on since he was first hired in the company.
“Big B”: a VFX artist. He and Gria joined the company around the same time and bonded over stressful deadlines and annoying seniors when they started out.
Jimmy: the project manager. Although Gria takes a lot of joy in teasing him, he is hardworking and great at keeping everyone in check with the calendar. Out of everyone, he is the one Gria is closest with. He also works on another game by the company called “Empires.”
Pearl: an environment artist. She joined the company a bit later in the development. It is her first time dealing with pixel graphics but she did it incredibly well. She also works on “Empires” with Jimmy.
“Empires” is a free-to-play fantasy open-world action gacha RPG. It is the biggest game of the company and their title game.
For visualization, it’s just “Genshin Impact” and “Honkai: Star Rail”.
Recently, there was a buzz around that their game, “Empires”, will have a collaboration event with another big name. Gria was too busy and overworked to take notice of this, though.
The fruits of his labor later came as game nominations for “Best Multiplayer” and “Best Audio Design.” Gria was happy their work was acknowledged by players worldwide, even if they didn’t win.
B. Hermitopia
After so long, Gria finally took a week off. It was foreign to have no obligations for even a day. He doesn’t use this time to travel; instead, he sits at home and lurks on the internet to keep up with gaming news and updates. He uses the username “Xelqua” with a red macaw as his profile picture.
He stumbled upon a “Redstone tutorial” post by the user ”Potatonutshell”. Curious and intrigued by how such a complicated contraption is possible in a game (and bored out of his mind), he asked this user what game it was for. Potatonutshell briefly, and over-excitedly, DM’d Gria with a huge wall of text about this game called “Hermitopia 6.”
In the beginning days of his break, Gria spent time messaging this Potatonutshell fella, named “Mumbo.” Mumbo named himself after a character named “Mumbo Jumbo”, who is one of the most skilled “redstoners” in the game. He related heavily with the character and took a lot of interest in the redstone circuitry game feature as he is a programmer in real life. Gria thought the game was interesting, but not enough to install a 36 GB game for $39.99. He changed his mind when Mumbo told him more about the game, especially its base-building mechanic.
“Hermitopia 6: Hermit Civil War” is an open-world fantasy action RPG known for its base-building core mechanic. It is the sixth game in the franchise, and each game starts in a brand-new world. The player and the lovable NPCs are called hermits, a band of humans, fae, hybrids, and other species who live together on an island and work together to live a sustainable life amidst the hostile creatures that roam the world.
For visualization, it’s like “Skyrim” with “Baldur’s Gate 3” graphics and dialogue UI.
Gria planned to try it for a few hours, only humoring his new internet friend, until he met this beautiful NPC named “Scar Goodtimes” — a human-vex hybrid with scars all over his “handsome face and carved body”, as Gria would personally describe him. He was also a builder who lived near Gria’s very odd underwater base. Throughout the remaining days of his break, and his weekends after that, Gria played Hermitopia 6 religiously.
Scar calls him “GRIAN”, which was a typo error — Gria pressed enter early in the name selection screen and he didn’t realize it until Scar first mentioned his name 3 hours into the game. He can’t be bothered to fix it, though (and he's grown fond of it.)
Gria continued to play the game in his free time, slowly falling in love with the game as he kept on playing. He also kept talking to Mumbo, who he fanboyed about the game with. He found out that Mumbo lived close by too, so they hung out frequently and bonded over the game.
Gria: I genuinely thought you had a big mustache, y’know, like Mumbo Jumbo. Mumbo: I do too! It’s... it's there! [he shows his very faint mustache] It's there! Gria: sure.
Xelqua started off as a lurker, to an active Hermitopia fan account. He was interested in the base-building aspect of the game and shared his designs online.
Hermitopia is not a dating simulator. There is no romance mechanic in the game. Anyway, Gria installed (and tweaked) a romance mod because no one can stop him from flirting with his fictional vex boyfriend.
Mumbo: Grian, if I hadn't met you personally, I would've pictured you as a crazy Scar fanatic. Gria: Wha— How— I’m not crazy. Mumbo: You downloaded a romance mod just to flirt with Scar and commissioned an artist to draw a scene from it, and now you have it framed on your bedroom wall. So, Grian, I think that’s crazy behavior. Gria: … I do what I want, Mumbo!
Gria's love for the game and Scar grew more as another hermitopia game was released (Hermitopia 7). Then, he, as Xelqua, became a notorious name because of a supposedly harmless poll about the sexiest character in the game. He was known as the insane Scar fan.
He's got every Scar merch, though there isn't much Hermitopia merch released in general. However, if someone posts about a new Scar fan merch, a certain username might appear in their notifications, like a hound trailing a scent. Haters and trolls are also dragged to hell and back because, if they aren't regretful after being berated by this insane man, they will not be able to surf through the web in peace as long as Xelqua holds a grudge.
As insane as this Xelqua person is, Scar had become a popular character within the fandom, compared to his old status as an underrated sweetheart without much attention or fanfare thanks to Xelqua constantly (for years without missing a day) talking about him. Xelqua also organized or helped some Scar fan events and constantly supported merch creators with hermitopia merch (especially if it involved Scar.)
User Xelqua, about Scar: He is my little sunshine, my precious sunflower. He might’ve killed some men, but he was hot while doing it.
C. The Collaboration Event
Back to Game dev stuff, Gria isn’t open about his current obsession with his coworkers. When the collaboration event with the “Empires” games was finally announced, two representatives from the other company came to visit. “Skizzleman” has been a writer for Hermitopia since the 3rd game. A character from Empires, Gemini, will become a new character in the next Hermitopia game, and there will be a DLC that will add a new small map with many biomes and new materials. In Empires, Hermitopia characters will be featured in a limited-run gacha banner and a limited-time story event.
Now a Hermitopia fan, Gria tried to interview Skizzleman about the game (while making it not obvious how obsessed he is with it). Skizzleman was the one who wrote the lore for “Impulse” as well as most of his dialogue throughout the games.
Another representative for Hermitopia, the lead designer Joel, came to visit for the collab event. He is a fanatic of Empires and a diehard “Shadow Lady” fan, which is why he is so excited to work with E.V.O. Games for the collab.
Accompaniment art for this here: link
Gria was never into gacha games, but with a mix of Pearl and Jimmy convincing him to try the game they worked on (not to mention the fact that it is free-to-play), and showing him an initial sketch of what some hermitopia characters will look like in the game (this isn’t allowed, but Jimmy and Pearl found the thought of their serious coworker playing a gacha game amusing), he finally caved. Little did they know, showing a topless concept art of Scar is more than enough to reel him in.
When the collab update was finally released, Gria grinded Empires just to get Scar. He practically paid his own salary back to his company just to get Scar to max level and his additional skins. (He loved his new “HotGuy” skin the most)
With the release of “Hermitopia 8: Moon Collision” and the introduction of co-op multiplayer mode, Gria invited Pearl to play with him with the excuse that they're only going to see how Gemini looks in the game. Gria successfully got Pearl hooked on the game.
D. The Watchers Studio
Before Gria properly applied to a game company, he developed small-scale games with his high school friends. They called themselves “The Watchers.” He met them in a small art club and they bonded over their favorite games. Gria’s favorite game growing up was an old zombie game with a title he can no longer remember.
One of their unfinished games was “The Life Game.” It was a battle-royal death game where the players had to gather resources and have limited lives.
Two of their old friend group recently reached out to Gria to catch up. They said they wanted to work on “The Life Game” again and wanted to ask Gria if he wanted to join again. Of course, Gria already had a job himself, so he declined. However, he hung out with the two and checked in with their progress, nostalgia hitting him as they relived their old game ideas.
The two invited Gria to do an alpha test and asked him to invite any friends who might find it fun. Gria invited Jimmy, Pearl, Martyn, and Big B, as well as Skizzleman and Joel who he’s been acquainted with. He also sent an invite to Mumbo, who was unfortunately busy with his job at the moment.
To Gria’s surprise, the two had turned their game into a VR game. All seven of them played in a medium-sized studio, and although the game was fun, it was nausea-inducing, especially for Joel. They all lost to the Computer-AI characters, which concluded their Alpha Test.
After the meetup, the two lent them their CD copy of the game with the VR Headset they used (which was suspiciously generous of them).
Skizzleman liked the game a lot and asked if they could do it again sometime, which Gria relayed to his two old friends. Pearl shared the same sentiment but is too caught up with work which makes her unable to join their next session.
The gang kept discussing the game they played and its potential to become a hit with a little more polish. This made Gria feel proud of his old team and his past self, reminding him of the time he was passionate about making games despite his lack of experience.
With limited coding knowledge and a little help from Mumbo, he made a server to host “The Life Game” online instead of LAN. He sent copies to Mumbo and Pearl in case they’d join later. According to the two, the game had more improvements to it since the last time they played it, which was months ago.
Gria had a small voice in his head telling him this was a bad idea— well, he did get a bit sick in the last session, but everyone had fun. So, he ignored the warning bells and hit “Join World.”
This marks the End of Pilot Part One Next Chapter > PART TWO: UNFIXABLE ERROR
ENDING NOTES: I've been brainrotting and hyperfixating on the idea for a while now, and I don't know how to let it all out so I'm going to try out this format. Hopefully I could add more to this! Thank you if you've read this far into the post. :) Made a spotify playlist too in case anyone is interested (I'm still working on this though)

season 10 really is the social season.
tango in a stream from a week-ish ago joked that this is the season of non-redstoners learning redstone but i think it goes deeper than that
first of all, everyones putting in effort to interact with others and not burn out and balance their episodes with building and work and just having fun with friends
then, theres all the skill sharing.
tango asked bdubs to critique his starter house build, pearl's doing the hermit tours and asking for critiques and things they'd add, bdubs and impulse are working on the cyberpunk city together, stress and iskall are building murder mystery lane together. a lot of redstoners are developing their building skills and styles
then there's armour stands, of course cleos messing with them as always but now joel is as well and she's not holding back with praise for his work and he isn't holding back any admiration for hers either. impulse did the little king kong because the scaling update to the armour stand mod has everyone inspired to play and learn and mumbos asked cleo to teach him about it as well (sidebar: cleo does really well teaching? like i know they used to be a teacher but the clips from mumbos video just convince me they were a good teacher. they give him tips and tricks and suggestions and hints without telling him what to do or how to do it. shes also just like... teaching creativity? almost? along with the skill of giving the armour stands life, shes giving tips on how to imagine and realize a scene etc.)
and ofc, last but certainly not least, more people are building games and using redstone in general!! pearl built a game and showed it off to everyone, cleos doing the same with guess the hermit and xisumas more than happy to help trouble shoot and problem solve to make everything work. and its not just games! grians actually building farms (even if from tutorials, in the past he mostly just goes to the shopping district) and pearl and skizz are both learning and doing the research and designing their own farms?!
im sure i've missed a bunch but i'm just so impressed with the hermits and im happy everyone's having fun with friends this season

i wasn't gonna tall about it but since it's relevant now i will say it just for general peace of mind. and i ask you to not post this on twitter please and thank you
the group ( and yes i say GROUP because it was various people who pushed it ) that really badly wants to accuse awesamdude of "stealing" minecraft designs, are well known for stirring up shit like this all the time in discord servers and whatnot
generally amongst the minecraft creator populace ( not video creator, but builders and modders ), it is perceived as a bad thing to attempt to claim ownership of an idea, a piece of code, a block palette, or a block pattern. specific structures and maps of course are okay to claim as your own. this group however thinks they own a redstone door setup
we jokingly call them the anti-tutorials because of a certain comment made trying to defend this gatekeeping, when someone chimed in and said "if i'm doing a showcase video i don't want someone using it as a tutorial". but that has always and forever been the basis of minecraft, to see and recreate, it's part of the game
nobody on the large scale mc community thinks badly of sam. especially the mcprison people, they really like what he did with pandora and how much it popularised the genre. he is just being poked at by well know bad actors. they will find something new to complain next week, it'll pass

I hate to say it, but Minecraft operates very much the same way as a JJ Abrams mystery box. I'm not talking about the Minecraft movie, I mean the game itself. The developers suggest a ton of deep lore questions that they have zero interest in ever actually answering, because Mystery Box, speculating at the possibilties is more fun than knowing for sure!
Who dug the abandoned mineshafts? Dunno, doesn't matter. Who built the strongholds? Dunno, doesn't matter. Do the endermen worship the dragon? Will the egg ever hatch? Who captained the flying ships with the elytra? What happened to the ancient cities in the deep dark? What is sculk and what is the Warden wardening over? Where did ancient debris come from? Who built the nether fortresses? Who built the bastions, how long ago, and why are they now just crumbling remnants? Why are there ruined nether portals strewn across the overworld? Jungle temples? Desert temples? Trail ruins? Ocean monuments? Sunken ships? Buried treasure? Dunno, dunno, dunno, dunno, none of it matters at all!
So many hints towards multiple different ancient civilizations, and all of it's just set dressing. They all exist for the Doylist reason of introducing, teaching, and encouraging the use of new game mechanics, but there are no Watsonian explanations and there likely never will be. Why is there a portal frame in the ancient city? Because it looks cool and the redstone underneath it lets new players know that the glowing dust they've been collecting has logical functionality (and even that's just a rudimentary hint; the game has no tutorials, no built-in instructions, everything important is learned via the Wiki).
I love Minecraft, it's my favorite video game of all time, but I think I play it for a very different reason than most people.

I've finished Etho's s7 hermitcraft so guess who's back with a slightly updated/slightly consolidated list of things about ethoslab I have noticed! or just enjoy!
(the previous list)
I have no idea when he learned to noteblock. I don't know if he knows. he knows how to noteblock tho. he's really good at it.
on that note, did you know that there is not a single piece of non-noteblock music in etho's s7 after the first episode? there might not even be any in the first episode. every single timelapse or montage is set to noteblock music
(he sang along to parts of his paper planes noteblock cover too. he was going shopping. I was entirely too delighted)
(also, there is some like...sitcom music theme that I don't know what show it's from. it's bothering me that I don't know. what you need to know is that throughout his s7 etho uses said sitcom theme as the transition before Shenanigans With Fellow Hermits clips play. his life is a sitcom. yes it is the noteblock version.)
I think that etho desperately needs minigames for enrichment. if he's not playing one he's working on one. he needs them and he will let them completely consume his life
the etho decked out 1 runs are hilarious, partially because it's funny to see him play it and realize how absolutely insane decked out 2 is, and how much of a madlad tango is. etho is still the same menace with great luck and skills. I had forgotten about the hole to the void in the middle out decked out 1 tho, that was a fun reminder
etho could make a career out of translating classic type games into minecraft. he kind of has, but it's a pattern.
he also keeps coming up with new games that are minecraft only and is good at figuring out how to balance them well.
again, king of minigames. he will in fact analyze them as much as possible. he caught on to the pattern of impulse's whack a mole game in like...2 rounds? maybe 3? he's good at pattern recognition and will put it to good use no matter the minigame
etho, I cannot stress this enough, is a little shit and enjoys being such. free glass is obviously an iconic moment, but I had forgotten about him scamming scar out of diamonds for "information" about the resistance, or about sneak-e-e's business model (you can't tax what you can't find!), or about how he kept being extremely ridiculous with beef in regards to record shop payments...the list goes on
etho is also very competitive. I mentioned this in the last list, but man...he joins like every single competition he can. he wants to win. he's not like, a sore loser, but he likes to win, and he'll get a little upset if he doesn't.
etho and beef have clearly known each other a long time and ngl I miss their interactions a bit. let them bother each other a bit more please. I want to see them trying to kill each other in ridiculous ways again please. or doing minigames together. they're so silly.
kind of similar, but etho loves getting a rise out of people and it is the best thing ever actually. it's fun watching him use dirty tricks to beat bdubs to sleeping for a prize. it's perfect actually.
that being said, I still really like when etho is just on his own working on stuff too. s7 has a lot of moments where etho will go "I'm gonna use this block palette!" and I will think "bro that's ugly" and then he will make an extremely cohesive build that I want to live in out of it. I think a good way to describe it is that for example bdubs is really good at detailed builds with texture and not much color, and a very realistic twist to them. etho is not afraid to use color at all, and embraces how the colors can work together or contrast. it's fascinating to watch and I love it.
he is also a redstone genius. I feel I am starting to understand how some things with redstone work. could I design something myself? absolutely not but I could work from a tutorial and not feel completely lost on why I have to use a dispenser and not a dropper now.
I think s7 etho is really experimenting a lot with style and how he wants to do things. he does a few more elaborate intros, for example, that are very planned out, but he also does a lot of the classic "hello everybody this is etho and welcome back to hermitcraft!" it's fun and it works, but I honestly feel he might be more confident in some ways now in s10, which is nice to see.
(side note—I think etho has some trouble with tone sometimes, where he really wants to make sure everyone's having a good time, but also he really wants to tease people. this works well with like Beef, who he's known a while, but especially in people he's known less he's quick to catch on if they take what he's saying too seriously, and clarify that he is teasing. it's nice to see tbh, just the clarity even with his audience)
speaking of llamas, I had not realized how recent some really big updates were. bamboo and pandas were new at the start of s7. the nether update came like halfway through?? I was more in the casual build side of mcyt at the time but man...I didn't realize how crazy that is to think about.
just...the way that etho visualizes builds is great. not just like, leaving space for farms, but filling in the spaces with a lot of details that make sense but also work with the space to cover anything it needs to AND to connect with the rest of the base. the sightlines thing is something I see a lot of other builders using but etho really uses them a lot in the Monstrosity in order to keep it from being Too Much as you walk through.
really just...he wants to have fun, and he wants to learn, and he wants to experiment and figure things out. if he can mess with some friends when he does it, that's a great bonus, yknow?
man. what a guy.
#ethoslab#hermitcraft#etho hermitcraft season 7#hm now do I watch his s8 now or rewatch s9.or do I write a fwhip analysis post because I caught up on his hardcore world recently.or do gem#...does this give me full ethogirl status now lmao

L&DS LI as Minecraft players!
Credits for the idea to @sizzlingtigerkitten! This is a little drabble, nothing really deep, just for the funsies! ₍^ >ヮ<^₎ .ᐟ.ᐟ How do you see them as?
Xavier as... the Nomad!
The kind of player that spends all of his time moving around the world, leaving little to no traces behind if not for the few torches and blocks randomly placed while he spends the night outdoors. You can expect them to have no bed, after all, they prefer to spend their time fighting against the hostile mobs just to get a good amount of EXP. He has been playing Minecraft for quite a while, but he has never paid extreme attention to the different mechanics on the game, just focusing on enjoying and exploring the world.
Zayne as... the Braniac!
The type of player that learns the wiki by heart. After all, you had told him you wanted to play together, wasn't he supposed to get a good grip on how Minecraft worked and what was or not possible? So he spends the little time he has to spare to read the whole wiki, learning all about the different mobs, potions, how to use redstone, the different crafting recipes... Gosh, you almost gasp after he told you just exactly how were you supposed to actually make the redstone work.
Rafayel as... the Builder!
I feel that since Rafayel takes such interest and pride on his creations, it would only make sense for him to become deeply interested on being able to build properly, even to the point of maybe creating his own building tutorials for those less... able to build. He would also probably become a modder, spending his time creating different mods that would allow him to actually paint in game, maybe creating small texture packs that would let him add his paintings to decorate your little house together... Or maybe even creating those cute mods of mermaid tails! He would probably love the roleplay ones, maybe taking the role of a merman and courting his lovely wife *coff coff*.
Sylus as... the Miner!
He would probably spend most of his time at the mines, after all, they had all he liked! Mobs to fight, riches to get... Just what he wanted to destress a little! In fact, he likes them even more because he gets to hear you scream when you get startled by the strange mine noises that were added to Minecraft. He knows he shouldn't laugh at you, but how could he not when you look like a little kitten trying to remain calm in front of a mirror? I do have to say that Sylus could probably also be a builder/redstone type of player, creating a huge and luxurious base for him and you, including strange traps and switches all over the place just to add some danger to the game. The type who would love adding random traps that could probably almost kill the players that even dared to try to enter his place.
Caleb as... the noob!
He only played because you told him to, so he simply follows you everywhere you go.
You go to the mines? he will be by your side, trying his best to not die from falling to the ground while going down the mines.
You go to a village? He's there, making sure to let you use his inventory to stuff all the objects you wanted to take from there but weren't able to.
It takes a while for him to get used to the game, often being seen dying on the silliest ways... how can someone die from a cactus? That's him for sure. But as soon as he gets accustomed, he becomes a great PvP player! Able to defend you from all the players that tried to get close to you just because of your materials... That of course included acting as a bodyguard for you, once again following you everywhere, except this time he's able to help you, killing all the aggressive mobs that kept following you, always carrying stuff you might need: wood? got it; stone? got it; coal? there; food? just say the word. He's so prepared that it's almost scary, to be honest, why would he have over 4 diamond pickages on his inventory?!

Sonic + Friends Youtuber headcanon post??
Tails is just canonically a youtuber. Sorry not sorry, look up TailsTube.
Sonic, when he's not guest-starring on Tails' channel, would have a tiny little channel of his own with approximately three youtube videos and all three of them are about how not to get lost in the jungle. He doesn't appear on camera once. Shitty MS paint overlays, Arial font crudely edited over the footage, but really, really solid advice.
Amy does youtube/tiktok shorts doing tarot readings! And sometimes talking about her own adventures, but mostly as sidenotes to the reading of the week. She will, however, use her platform to boost fundraisers and talk about political causes she believes in.
Knuckles doesn't have a youtube account, but Tails did do an hour-long feature where he followed Knuckles around his usual route on Angel Island and interviewed him. They covered a good variety of topics, like how Knuckles occupies his time, grows his own food, searches and records lost Echidna artifacts, etc. It was very casual, sort of like a podcast.
Rouge doesn't have a youtube but she does run a successful anonymous instagram shitpost account comprised entirely of blurry pictures of Sonic and Shadow from people's doorbell and dash cams.
Shadow? Motorcycle repair and gun-cleaning tutorials. He films using an old digital camera Rouge got for him. It took him a bit of experimenting to figure out how to use it, but now he's got the hang of it. His videos aren't the best quality, since he tends to set the camera down and forget about it, but his explanations are thorough. Some people find his voice soothing.
Omega doesn't do youtube- he does twitch. He streams through his own optics as the camera, giving a first-person view of the carnage as he destroys Eggman bases. However, this isn't what got him viral. After each rampage, he'll stand over the remains of his robotic enemies and do a Q&A with the audience. The internet has decided that his responses are the most hysterical thing. Part of him is pleased he has so many watchers, but the other part of him is pissed that none of them want to stick around for the actual destruction.
Vanilla doesn't want Cream to be on the internet at such a young age! Good call, honestly. Sometimes Vanilla worries about Tails in this regard.
Vector flopped on Youtube, but he was HUGE on vine when he was back in high school. And he will never, ever, ever let anyone know about it. Sometimes Sonic will quote one of his vines and it gives him a heart attack.
Espio makes cute little origami tutorials! His channel isn't very popular, but he is one of the top results when searching how to make some very specific origami patterns.
Charmy has expressed interest in being a minecraft streamer, but Vector does everything in his power to prevent this.
Blaze has wayyyyy too much stage fright to consider a private youtube channel, but she appears on the news often enough in her home dimension.
Silver showed up in one of Tails' videos once and has gained a cult following ever since. They keep asking Tails to bring him back.
Metal Sonic is a Minecraft youtuber who focuses on pretty little creative builds. He tried to do multiplayer PVP for a little but he quickly broke his controller. Sometimes he gets roped into a video with-
Sage is also a Minecraft youtuber who focuses exclusively on redstone builds with more computing power than the fucking apollo program. Other than her voice, her videos are entirely anonymous. She's gotten comments calling her the "Tails" of Minecraft, and she couldn't be more flattered.
Eggman runs a propaganda channel for his empire that quickly got banned, and he moved to one of those sketchy youtube knockoffs. And a certain. . . more explicit website. The one with "hub" in the name. Every video is your typical propaganda fair, all hail Eggman, death to the blue rat, etc etc etc.

Cafe Buddy

Synopsis: you were never a gamer nor interested in any games but when Karina forced you to play minecraft some things shifted.
Word Count: 1,150
Another Fluff from me today y’all! 💪
You were always the quiet, smart one — the kind of person people overlooked in a crowd.
Karina, on the other hand, was loud, famous, and impossible to miss.
But somehow, despite everything, you two became friends. Real friends.
“Hey, Y/N, where are you going?”
You barely had time to react before Karina’s hand landed on your shoulder, stopping you mid-step.
“I’m heading home to study. What about you, Karina?” you said, adjusting your bag.
She pouted dramatically, tugging at your sleeve.
“Aww, boring! Let’s go to the internet cafe instead. I have no one to play Minecraft with! My treat!”
Normally, you would’ve rejected an offer like that without a second thought.
But for her… you couldn’t say no.
“Uhh… sure?” you mumbled.
“Perfect!” she beamed, immediately grabbing your hand and leading the way down the street without waiting for another word.
The cafe had the faint smell of old wood and instant noodles, a hum of computers filling the air.
You both slid into seats side by side, monitors lighting up your faces.
“Alright, first things first: WASD to move,” Karina said like a pro gamer, winking at you.
“I know how to move,” you muttered, cheeks heating.
Within minutes, she had you building, crafting, and — after some chaotic first deaths — starting a hardcore world together.
The weeks blurred after that.
Every day after classes, it became the same comforting routine.
“Hey old man! Same two PCs please!” Karina called as you entered the cafe.
“Ya got it, Rina. That your boyfriend?” the old owner teased under his breath, making Karina splutter.
“N-No! No, he’s not!” she stammered, practically shoving you toward your usual spot.
You fought down a smile as you settled into your chair.
The world you built together was like your own secret little city — hidden farms, deep mines, endless adventures.
“Hey, do you have extra iron?” Karina asked one afternoon, leaning toward your screen.
“It’s in my chest,” you replied without looking.
She opened your perfectly organized chest and blinked. Coal neatly stacked. Iron. Gold. Diamonds sorted by type.
“Who organizes in Minecraft, you weirdo,” she teased, laughing under her breath.
“Beggars can’t be choosers,” you shot back, smirking.
Moments like this — easy, stupid, real — became everything.
You even caught yourself late at night studying Minecraft builds, redstone tutorials, and AFK farm strategies…
All just to make your shared world a little more magical for her.
Meanwhile, Karina kept expanding her chaotic sheep farm and obsessively collecting every axolotl she could find.
“I swear I’ll find the secret blue one,” she insisted, determined, as she dragged you across oceans.
One afternoon, Karina let out a loud gasp from beside you.
“AH! Y/N! How did you do that?!” she exclaimed, staring at the massive infinite iron farm you built.
You shrugged, biting back a grin.
“Just… watched some tutorials,” you said casually.
“You’re a genius,” she declared, genuine awe in her voice.
The compliment hit harder than you expected. You hid your smile by pretending to focus on your farm.
“Thanks,” you said quietly.
“Oh — and by the way, your axolotl killed my two salmons,” you added dryly.
Karina gasped dramatically, clutching her chest.
“It’s survival of the fittest, Y/N! My babies come first!”
A few weeks passed by in a blur of after-school rushes and Minecraft worlds.
You practically jogged to the internet cafe now, trying to keep up with Karina’s reckless pace.
“HEY! WHY AM I BEING ATTACKED?! I’M WEARING GOLD!”
Her scream echoed through the cafe.
You barely flinched, already used to it.
“You’re wearing yellow-dyed leather, dumbass,” you said calmly, not even glancing up from your build.
She blinked at her screen, utterly betrayed.
“Oh… that’s why my armor bar looks weird…” she muttered.
You snorted, reaching over to nudge her with your elbow.
“Genius.”
That afternoon was supposed to be the same — calm, stupid, perfect.
You both sat hunched over your monitors, cup noodles steaming beside you, laughter slipping between clicks.
Until the door jingled and a group of loud boys barged into the cafe.
You caught Karina stiffen before you even looked.
One of the boys peeled off from the group, sauntering toward you two like he owned the place.
“Fancy seeing you here, my Karina,” he drawled, voice thick with fake charm.
Karina didn’t even pretend this time.
She let out a loud, annoyed groan.
“Ugh. Great. This dude again,” she muttered, dragging a hand down her face.
She turned slightly in her chair to face him.
“What do you want? I’ve rejected you like, five times. Take the hint, man,” she said flatly.
The guy just chuckled like she was teasing him.
“C’mon, you don’t have to act tough. Everyone knows we’d be perfect together. You’re just playing hard to get.”
You leaned back slightly in your chair, hand resting casually on the back of Karina’s seat. A clear message.
“You heard her,” you said coolly, voice low but clear enough.
The guy’s eyes flicked to you, sizing you up.
“What, you her bodyguard now?” he sneered.
Karina clicked her tongue, about to say something, but the guy kept pushing.
“Come on, Karina, ditch the nerd. You deserve someone who’s not glued to a block game all day.”
That’s when Karina stood up sharply, chair scraping loudly against the floor.
“I don’t like you, idiot!” she snapped.
The whole cafe turned to look.
Her chest was heaving slightly, face flushed from anger — and something else.
She pointed directly at you without hesitation.
“I like Y/N, okay?!” she blurted out.
Silence crashed down around you.
The guy stood there, stunned, looking between you two like he couldn’t believe it.
Karina didn’t wait for a reaction. She just plopped back down in her chair, aggressively opening her Minecraft inventory like nothing happened.
You sat frozen for a second, brain short-circuiting.
Then slowly — carefully — you smiled.
Without looking at her, you reached over and bumped your shoulder against hers again, casual but deliberate
You stared at her, heart pounding, not sure if you even heard her right.
“What do you mean by that?” you mumbled, cheeks burning hotter by the second.
Karina shifted in her seat, playing with the hem of her sleeve before suddenly blurting out,
“Ah! I like you, Y/N! You’re the only one who actually cares about me… and I find that really sweet.
Your mind blanked. Completely.
You opened your mouth — then closed it again — no words coming out.
Karina just laughed softly, reaching over to pinch your bright red cheeks.
“You look so cute when you’re flustered!” she teased.
You swatted her hand away, face practically steaming.
“Shut up,” you grumbled, pouting.
“I’m not giving you any more Netherite.”
Karina only grinned wider, leaning her head lightly against your shoulder.
you can’t help but stiffen, its alright as long as she’s comfortable…
Head cannons !!
Actually the second attempt on a hardcore world, Karina hit an iron golem and miscalculated the amount of blocks she stacked up into and ended up getting fling and hitting the ground hard.
Whenever you were cooking the muttons and pork-chop she’d grab them all and give you 1/4 of it.
When she was almost killed by the piglins she smashed the table making the noodle broth spill over the mousepad (she spent an extra hour cleaning the setup)
Karina ended up getting the secret axolotl and posted it in her story but you were the only one who liked it, she insisted that her story was bugged. 147 views but only 1 like.
The two of you defeated the Enderdragon but Karina died because she raided a Mansion insisting that she can solo it, she later sabotaged your iron farm on your PC and killed your character ultimately losing the hardcore world.

okay there is this video on pornhub that i can’t stop thinking about with modern!eddie. it’s a minecraft redstone tutorial where this guy is getting head while showing how to make a daylight sensor lamp and automatic doors and it’s so funny but also i can’t stop imagining like eddie fucking reader while giving a tutorial on something so pleaseeeee i beg i beg i beg
it is 10 am and when i read this i could not stop laughing (bc it was quite unexpected) so obviously i had to go do some research and holy shit. that's all I'm gonna say. thank you for the request <3
warnings: smut 18+ only MDNI. oral (m receiving). slight bored and ignored vibes. sex work/on camera sex. pwp - we're getting straight to the point here.

Eddie sat the camera up over his desk, so when he sat down in his chair, the angle would pick up on most of his naked body and you sitting between his legs, hand already slowly moving across his length.
He shot you a quick smile and blew you a kiss before he leaned over to pick up his guitar. sliding a bit back in his chair, he placed the instrument over his stomach, strumming it a few times before looking up at the camera.
'Hey everyone, so today I thought I'd teach you how to...' As he began to explain, you wrapped your lips around the tip of his cock. As usual, when it came to these kinds of videos of his, Eddie barely reacted to the touch and just kept on talking about the kind of guitar he was holding, but a trained eye might just notice the flex in his thighs.
'So, what you gotta do...' he placed one hand on the neck of the guitar, showing the camera the placement of the fingers to play the right chords. Meanwhile, his other hand swiped gently over your hair, petting you encouragingly as you took him deeper into your mouth.
You both continued doing your own thing, enjoying the simple presence of each other's company practically. To you, the camera was long forgotten, and his words were just a low hum in your mind, the sound of it always putting you at peace.
At certain moments, Eddie would readjust his position in his chair, using it as an excuse to thrust into your mouth. You would mewl around him, exactly at the moment that he tried to play one of the more difficult parts of the song, and it would be one of the few moments he acknowledged you in the video.
'Shh, baby, not so loud.' He pushed some of your hair back, 'trying to film a video here.' You mouth a 'sorry' to him and continued on. As the video went on, you began to move faster, taking him deeper. It got sloppier, and any time he would thrust into you, he hit the back of your throat, resulting in a moan that went almost in sync with the melody he played.
'So, yeah, that's about it,' Eddie finished up the song, and from his indifferent expression, you wouldn't be even able to tell that his cum was sprayed all over your mouth and tits.
Just before he turned the camera off, he put the guitar back down and leaned down to kiss you, licking himself off your lips. 'You did so fucking good, baby. I love you.'
But that part wouldn't make the final edit. That was just for you and him.

People talking about it like “it’s hilarious that he was even considered the redstone guy on the server when the hermits could do better” gee, I’m sorry 25 year old Awesamdude isn’t as good as the minecraft YouTuber who was making videos when Sam was still afraid of cooties
also it's shocking yes but everyone starts out getting good at redstone by looking at tutorials. it's like being like wowwe I thought this guy was good at carpentry but he really just took a class😒 like yes girl did you expect him to invent the saw

the basics of this stupid ass minecraft server au:
john kramer is like 19 and hes got a moderately successful redstone tutorial channel. he was well known on the server for making community warp farms
jill is his minecraft girlfriend. she saw a video once about the dangers of gambling and lootboxes and now she tries to go to servers with especially bad crate gambling systems to get kids to play on this server instead
amanda is like 13 and she was one of those kids with a crate problem, straight up stole her dad's credit card to buy crate keys
lawrence is some autistic 14 y/o whos special interest is medicine
john starts creating player traps after some disillusioning incident (im thinking base griefing where jill's minecraft dog died, jill's little brother got banned from the server, something like that)
tapp is one of the older kids on the server and his dad is a cop so hes pretty sure he knows a thing or two about investigations, thank you very much, so he starts a "police force" to track down jigsaw
sing is his irl bestie who agrees to help
adam is a guy notorious for finding base coords and finding exploits on the server that he sells off to others
#emil.txt#obviously lawrence is minecraft cheating on his minecraft girlfriend#mark from the jelly trap faked being sick so people would pity him and give him in game money and items#amanda had to kill an afk player to get something from their inventory to escape her trap#lawrence and adam are blocked in in their trap and have mining fatigue#obviously john has an elder guardian#it belonged to william easton who had it to show off in his base but john stole it for this#its named piranha#sawtism#sawposting#saw franchise#saw 2004
