Yo-kai Watch: Spectral Dreams

The crossover AU of Kirby and Yo-Kai Watch.

A girl named Adeleine finds a strange gotcha machine out in the woods. Putting a coin in, she meets a strange creature called a Yo-Kai. The Yo-Kai explains to her that Yo-Kai can be found all over the place and cause all sorts of mayhem. She obtains a Yo-Kai watch to help see and befriend these ghostly beings. What sort of adventures await? Only time will tell...

I kind of figure this in the anime, but the manga version of the Matoba intro arc actually makes it extremely clear that Nyanko-sensei was way more upset about Natsume being hurt than the fact Matoba shot him with an arrow, literally showing him looking over at Natsume in pain before doing the "KID YOU'VE FORGOTTEN YOUR PLACE MEET YOUR FATE~" freak out. Like he was hurt way worse than Natsume, but that's still his main concern. Awww.

Which makes how easily he was talked down have an extra layer of awwww (and hilarity), hearing Natsume's voice and seeing that he's okay was probably the main thing stopped him from committing murder. "PREPARE TO MEET YOUR D--oh my kid's okay-ish and also I think he'd be traumatized if I actually ate someone in front of him so nvm".

If Matoba had killed or even just seriously hurt Natsume, even by accident, he would fully be dead right now, and I hope he knows that deep down in his heart (he definitely doesn't).

(also I always love that Natsume's main argument here isn't "killing Matoba would be wrong" but "omg you'll make your wound worse if you move so no murder today". Like I fully believe in that moment even Natsume was angry enough to be like "DOES Matoba deserve to die for hurting my beloved cat this bad, yes, would killing him be a good thing, no, can I bring myself to care about that more than Sensei opening his wound, also no)"

sooo basically when she was 14, her mom got some glasses custom made for her birthday as a sentimental special gift thingy :>

A few days later or something he was gonna spend the night with one of his friends and noticed that he was acting Weird. Night goes on for a while before Caspian goes to his room,,,

Her friend's freaky cat starts talking :O After a short plot-convenient explanation of what yokai are, Caspian gets him to stop inspiriting Friend (spraying him with a water bottle until he stops)

They Eventually becomes friends!!! Kinds begrudgingly and mainly because Baddinyan doesn't have a concrete place to stay without like. Threat of Yokai Exorcism (tm) so Caspian's like well I mean I have room in my house I guess just don't be a nuisance (he didn't listen)

After a while, and a yokai friend or two later, the topic of what to do with the weird medals he's been getting. Tldr;

"Do your glasses not come with a summoning feature? That sucks, nyan"

"Well im soRRY THE OLD GUY DIDNT PUT IN A YOKAI SUMMONING THING? How do I do that"

i wonder if anyone has ever made a danny phantom and the world ends with you crossover?

both series focus around death and how it affects people(moreso fanon in dp's case but i digress), so i think the concept of the infinite realms and the underground and real ground, plus the implied other layers(grounds?), could fit together nicely. infinite realms are called that for a reason after all, and a big reason why danny phantom (the concept) can crossover with so much other media.

and yes, obviously shibuya and illinois(?) are really seriously far apart, so how could the characters possibly interact? simple; the fentons go yokai hunting for the summer.

jack and maddie for some reason deduce yokai are real(debatable) and must be from the ghost zone. so they go on a vacation to japan to hunt them down, dragging their kids with them because it is a vacation after all.

through whatever circumstances, danny and jazz meet and interact with the twewy characters. danny definitely notes them as "dead-adjacent", while jazz clocks them as all needing serious therapy, which like "Yeah! We know! Our trauma is Special™!". but she has experience with dealing with her brother and his "death trauma"(which he vehemently denies having). also i think it would be funny if danny was able to bounce back and forth between the rg and ug, actively bullying reapers.

ellie could come too! she'd probably love making joshua's life hell (you go girl)

whether or not the drs fenton find actual yokai? who knows. danny probably.
