#this is a joke but it also isn't #i do believe the paywall was mainly his idea as a ceo + he was most definitely behind the decision to hire andrew and that other guy #if you're already having budget problems you don't just go around hiring new people just bc they were your buzzfeed buddies #and you want to go to fancy restaurants eating gold-covered truffle with them #that being said i'm not babyfying ryan and shane either bc even if it was his idea (big if there) they still agreed to it and >#that's just so yikes. i'm so disappointed in them #i've been watching them from the beginning. i've loved them from the buzzfeed days in 2015 and then from the very first episode of unsolved #(i even wrote fics of them they were That Big of a hyperfixation)#i've followed them from day one when they moved to watcher too #as time passed i distanced myself from their content a bit just bc 1) it became a bit too professional and lost that genuine cozy feeling :#and 2) they started pushing steven into most of the content and i always ALWAYS got such a bad vibe from him i literally couldn't watch any #> content he was in. i thought people liked him so i was convinced it was a me problem but now i see people agreeing #and i can finally live my truth. don't be shy throw him out #they'd still have to regain the trust of their fanbase after such a slap in the face but at least part of the trash would be taken out #watcher #ramblings

You probably get this all the time but just wanted to say I really appreciate the time and hard work you guys put into this mod. coding and implementing these things can't be easy and I'm sure it's very time consuming and tons of frustration in some instances. I heard there's an upcoming update? May you guys overcome any challenges that it brings. We will eventually reach our destination, All Aboard!

Aww thank you so much!! It's always nice to hear that our efforts are appreciated! It sure does take a lot of time. I believe we may be approaching a year since I first decided to implement Emmet as an NPC on a whim...

April 25th, 2023... It's getting close. And it won't be ready for release anytime soon! Especially since I'll have to go back and update the mod to be compatible with the 1.6 update (I did try updating their dispositions to the new format but well... It didn't load properly after that and I decided to put it off until later. Later is coming verrrry soon!).

But yes! The journey may be long, but we will eventually reach our destination! All aboard!!!!

actually used r*ddit for the first time in a thousand years just to comfort a self proclaimed 'grown ass man' regarding his feelings about feeling lost and grieving over the death of RT.

I usually stay away from commenting on public forums and the like, but he was clearly confused and didn't understand why he was hurting and it was frustrating him. it genuinely makes me so sad that a lot of cis men deeply struggle with allowing themselves to feel sadness if it doesn't directly relate to someone close to them dying.

and so I kind of said as much. told him that just because RT wasn't a real human doesn't mean that the decades of comfort it brought him didn't matter. that the brain doesn't differentiate between the loss of a person vs. the loss of something intangible that was still incredibly important.

told him to give himself the grace to grieve and be sad that something he loved was ending and that he wasn't the only one feeling that way. and surprisingly he replied and said he really needed to hear that, as did a couple of other dudes. which made me glad I said something. it sucks that they feel like they need permission or a reason to feel hurt/grief tho

there's definitely a strangeness to feeling grief over the end of media. but if it impacted your life for the better, then of course you're going to feel sad and lost. especially from folks you've been watching the better part of two decades.

#[static]#putting it under a read more because im being long-winded about it #RT was a big part of my life in the 2010s and i met a lot of great people because of it #i stopped watching around 2019-2020 due to life stuff and the controversies going on #but then f**ckface showed up and it's been one of the few podcasts that i genuinely enjoy and make me feel safe and comfortable #the content they made became too much for me to keep up with so i stopped for the most part #but f**ckface was the best of it all and brought me back to the good old days :) its hard to describe but it just felt magical #anyways i think ppl should be allowed to grieve even if there was 'writing on the walls' or whatever #RT is not without its issues for sure but a lot of them grew as people in to genuine good folks and that's awesome #and even though i only partake in a very small part of RT nowadays i too will be very sad to see it go #im going to watch the livestream in an hour and keep an ear out for if folks end up working on new projects

It's a bit funny that to parts of my circles I'm 'the fandom one'/'the fanfic one'/'the shipping one' as the person they know most prominently into such things

because as much as i love writing my fics and shipping my ships my interest in both of those things is, I think, very narrow and specific compared to most people who are into them? due to my habits being like. very particular

#i think some ppl think of me as ahh my buddy who is always reading fanfic and i'm like. look. i would LIKE to be that. but i'm not #it's comically difficult to get me to sit down and read a new fanfic. for no discernable reason #the fandoms i like to read for don't even have big fic scenes but i've still checked out such a narrow portion of them #(and these fandoms are like. just a few. leaving aside MiA's dead tag. LOGH + T&B + Vorkosigan + ...anything else here would be a lie)#(Queen's Thief + Temeraire + TMA are on the backburner rn for reading fic but they were faves before yet i read SO little of what existed)#(everything else i just check out very occasionally or when directly recc'd)#i think mmmaaaybe 'my buddy who reads tons of fic' would be the case if there were new fics about the sages coming out every day #they're sort of a unique hyperfixation for me lol #but there are NOT. instead there are ((checks))#four (4) english language belavue fics on AO3 that are not by me #AND two of them i would say do not actually have any ship content and were likely just tagged that to be safe #as far as non ship content there are ((checks again)) 21 English language fics tagged with Belaf and I wrote 13 of them ........#(and 17 for Vueko and i wrote 10. two of the others barely mention her and shouldn’t be tagged lol) …guys i'm starving............#ok you read to the bottom of the tags you get to hear a selfish wish #i kind of hope that someday...someone will...write some fic about the sages either because of me or for me #gen or ship it doesnt matter #but this kind of thing usually happens in AO3 exchanges though and there aren't ones in this fandom because the fic scene is so miniscule #i'm literally running one right now off AO3 but have a feeling it will end up being mostly art and also didn't put myself in as a requester #since the people participating have largely made stuff for me as gifts before and i have a glut of lovely work from them #and again that exchange will mostly end up being art i feel and not fic. but some other time... i still wish ... more fic... pleae..plaeabs #there are very specific reasons i don't want to host an MiA fic exchange through AO3. i can guess the kind of stuff some people will reques #(the kind of stuff that's already in the tag.) and it's not stuff i feel like moderating an exchange involving >_> so i won't #but god.. ... ..... someday......i hope....there can be an exchange where i ask for somethinga bout these people.............

okay wait I'm writing an actual post so I can start handling all these emotions

#in the tags #because I am extremely aware of the privilege involved in buying extra content and even getting it shipped so fast #if seeing madison/kickstarter talk bothers you feel free to ignore this post! it'll likely be my last one on the subject.#but the thing is: three and something years ago I was deeply depressed and confined to my house because of covid #I hadn't been active in any fandoms in 3-4 years at that point and I started to think I'd never feel this passionate again #and then I read omgcp in a fit of insomnia one night #and then waited with baited breath for the last episode to go up so I could write a completley canon compliant madison fic #I spent six months obsessively writing it.#it was my first long fic in 5-6 years and working on it honestly - genuinely - dragged me out of that bad place.#when I posted it I knew one day it'd be jossed by canon madison but I was so okay with it. I couldn't WAIT #and tbh I thought it'd happen much sooner than it did #but now we're finally here and it weirdly feels like a big moment for me #like a: look where we were and where we're at now kind of moment. like a: end of an era kind of moment.#by no means the end of my omgcp era #but I think a part of me just felt unfinished as long as this moment was still unfulfilled #anyway. if you were here when I was completely new to this fandom and just started talking about that 2015 summer nonstop #just know you were a major part of my mental health journey during covid and that I appreciate it so fucking much #rip madison fixation 👋 you've served me well #text

#girl help i went on the lotro forums by accident #and ended up on someones thread complaining about how we never get any new content #i think one of my big issues with this is like. do you not have a job? or any other hobbies?#like im not shitting on people who dont have jobs. ive spent my fair share of time unemployed #but its wild that you apparently have NOTHING else going on in your life except for ONE mmo #they said there was only about a weeks worth of new stuff #youre telling me you got through everything in a week? one week #i started sometime mid december and spent a good long time playing the game #because i had a lot of hours cut in late december and january. so guess what i did while i wasnt at work #and i just finished a few days ago??? it took me two months????????#like i dont know if theres anything that will entertain you if you insist upon blasting through everything so fast #this is a you problem and you are going to find it everywhere you go not just here #i also hate when people complain about this because i feel that the devs react to it by making endgame stuff more grindy #i dont want it to be more grindy #unlike SOME people i have a life outside this game but i would still like to succeed at it

Sch Tip: Soil in Dungeons (L78+)

At Level 78, Sacred Soil gets a very powerful upgrade: a regen! The total cure potency of this regen is 600, making it a stronger heal than Indomitability and equal to Lustrate. Paired with its 10% mitigation, Soil becomes one of your best Aetherflow uses.

In dungeons, you should use Soil every pull. Its 30s CD means you can use it at least once every pull and twice on longer pulls. I always throw it down as soon as the tank stops running.

Starting from L78, Scholar's Aetherflow use in dungeons will pretty much bounce between Excog and Soil. Between these two, use Lustrate to manage the tank's HP if needed and dump Aetherflow on Energy Drain if not.

#so soil actually heals upon placement so you get 6 regen ticks instead of 5 :) that's where the 600 comes from #i will most likely address this on a new post but soil is basically your best aetherflow heal from here on out.. however:#the major drawback is that people have to sit still for the 15 seconds. usually it's fine.. but sometimes it's not possible!#or your df group is allergic to stacking lol it happens #that last paragraph is a big simplification that only works out in pretty optimal scenarios! in leveling it's usually not so pretty lol #i do want to do a 'how-to dungeon heal as scholar' post one day... but it would be quite a long one lol #ffxiv #final fantasy xiv #ff14 #ffxiv scholar #healingwithcake #hwc:sch #hmm i may end up continuing this format? of kind of separating dungeon and raid tips #when i try to combine them.. that's when my posts get really verbose lol #i struggle to trim down the content and then at that point i feel like im cutting away useful info :/#if you've read this far u already know i can get wordy XD
