Wiping his tears because his own hands are too shaky and rough for him. He was used to the pain, should be. He's been through it all right, so why can't he just handle some weird fucking cut on his wrist, that he got when he fell off balance once he got off the heli, a sharp piece of loose metal slicing the side of his arm.

It really didn't hurt, or at least that's what he says. Not even going to the medics before he passed out in his room.

Tired, exhausted, and trying to fight frustrated tears because how is he so stupid? How could he miss a step? In front of all those people too? Oh how they would laugh at him if they knew. Shaky hands trying to wipe at his own tears only for more to overwhelm him.

Your hands gently wipe away his tears quick and efficient as he struggles to breathe through his crooked nose, feeling himself fall into that spiral of self hate even deeper. He knew he looked pathetic okay?

"I am no pretty crier please- leave me be", and yet even as he covered his own face your hands could slide between his palm and his cheek. Gently shooing away those salty tears while you try to comfort the poor man.

"we do not understand how you can stand us", he speaks hours later. Everything dried, even the stain of blood on his bed. Red and dry eyes staring back at yours as he curls up into your. Making himself smaller, hoping that you'll stay if he proves even a dog can be tamed. Even if his hands shake at the thought of you leaving. Even if he wants to shove you away into his walls and keep you in his corner.
