Nothing makes me cackle and kick my feet faster than when some entity that is supposed to be ominous and ooooh so scary is just. Doing its job. And complaining about it to whoever will listen. Ah, yes, I'm but a fledgling demon, I need this promotion, or I'll get sacked otherwise, help a friendly demon out! Death is my all-time favourite character in the discworld. He is so clueless but well-meaning! Also, the demons from good omens come on, that whole ass office vibe they have going on. Sure, there is doom and death all around, but what's worse than paperwork? Nothing beats that no torture they can come up with. But even Crowley and his way of messing with humans is so... endearing? In a really messed up way? Like he will just push people to do evil deeds, or sometimes is just a straight-up nuisance. Michael from the good place also falls into this category, and I just !!!! I love this archetype! It never fails to just make me wanna jump up and down like they did the thing!!! They humanised that entirely not-human being by making them be just as confused and just as annoyed about the system as the rest of us are! Love it!

Hello random stranger I don’t even follow! I grew up on Lake Erie and we have a storm hag and I am so excited to talk about her! Mostly she’s from like the war of 1812 and partially forgotten about, but she’s said to cause storms that take down ships so she can feast on sailor flesh. She has a spooky little theme song but by the time you hear it it’s too late and she’s already next to your ship about to pull you under. Which like, you’d think then that we wouldn’t know the song but it’s:

Come into the water, love, dance beneath the waves

Where dwell the bones of sailor lads inside my mossy cave

She’s said to live in a cave under presque isle, which does not make sense because it’s a sand bar full of swampy lagoons, but also there’s a rip current medium often on the beach side so arguably she’s still out there sucking down souls. I’m just saying there’s bluffs on the other side of the bay that seem more reasonable as a place to find caves. But like also historically during the war of 1812 (but really 1813) Oliver hazard Perry’s fleet spent the winter in misery bay, which is sort of toward the end of presque isle, and they were very cold and hungry. I do also like to think that the people that fall through the ice dunes and die in winter are her victims. Maybe also the people that snowmobile on the ice too far into spring and go under. Then again she probably can’t be blamed for every kind of stupid death that happens.

Anyway apparently her name is Jenny Greenteeth, which makes it pretty clear that she’s an English import at least in name, but I love her.

Also, in case you don’t already know, Lake Erie is shallow which makes the currents weird and there’s like, so many shipwrecks. It’s warmer than the deeper lakes so they aren’t as well preserved as the ones in Lake Superior or anything, but there are genuinely a nuts number of them. Also there’s at least one ghost ship, the dean richmond. There’s this whole area called the Lake Erie quadrangle that they’re thinking about protecting federally because there’s so many shipwrecks? Like, beyond a Bermuda Triangle amount. But on the bright side, it doesn’t have as much of a plane crash history as the Lake Michigan triangle!

Also there are some giant goddamned sturgeon in that lake, and if you feel the need to go mermaid tail/person body with the mermaid thing I recommend a long twisty sturgeon tail and body! I forgot what this was for in my excitement to tell someone about my girl Jenny Greenteeth, but have so much fun!

guys i was thinking about jancy and then my brain made it about byler lol but remember when nancy and jonathan fight in s3 and jonathan says, ‘i don’t live in a three story house off maple street!’? (or whatever it is, you get the point) and like, yes, the byers and the wheelers exist in two different worlds with this contrast.

but imagine teeny tiny will going over to mike’s house for the first time, and it’s HUGE, especially to a kindergartener. it’s like…really it’s like a castle! but mike doesn’t think it’s anything special. not in a condescending way, just in the way that he grew up there, and it’s familiar to him. not at all too big or intimidating. and so will, getting to know mike, who lives in a castle and is so smart and kind to him, starts to picture mike like a prince with a heart of gold. 

and as they grow up, he doesn’t really continue to idolize him like that. but little pieces of that adoration stick with him, especially when they start getting bullied and mike is the one to stand up for them, or comfort will afterwards. will sees him as a protector of sorts.

and so when they’re choosing roles for their party, it’s will who suggests that mike is a paladin. because knights live in castles! and mike is strong in a way will doesn’t see himself being, and he’s smart and good, exactly like a chivalrous paladin. 

bonus is that mike doesn’t think of himself that way, not until will says it. and he knows that will definitely suggested it randomly, but even subconsciously, there has to be something there, right? like mike just smiling to himself later that night thinking about will excitedly telling him that he has to be the paladin?? so freaking cute

Ok but... hear me out...

Mathias, instead of getting misplaced in time and ending up in CV3 era, ends up in LoS somewhere after Gabriel turned into a vampire. And so not only meets Dracul, but his Castle too. And the Castle feels a connection to Mathias because it can tell he shares a fate with it's master... :)

Am I considering LoS!Macastle and Macul? Maybe. A little bit.

(Thoughwe could also say that Mathias ended up in LoS when he was supposed to be sent back to his time... and that Hector followed him, so they're together.... and Hector is very, very protective of his Lord ❤️)

Ok, I'm hearing you out on this, because this is good. But like, considering the relationship that Dracul and the Castle have, poor Mathias being sandwiched between the two. Maybe Hector comes over a little later, and is determined to save his Lord, but encounters Trevorcard before he is killed and turned into a vampire. Imagine Trevorcard's rage towards Dracul when he witnesses him with Mathias.

Imagine Hector and Mathias being horrified at Dracul's actions towards Trevorcard, but even more when they see him attempt to turn Trevor. Maybe Mathias would attempt to comfort Dracul. Maybe Hector would see this as an opportunity to free his Lord.

The chaos that would unfold. Maybe Mathias would be able to convince Dracul not to destroy the village Trevorcard was from, making Simon have at least somewhat a normal childhood. Of course Simon and Sypha would go to live with the people in the mountains, as was Trevorcard's wishes before he left to fight Dracul.

Hmm... This is going to be in my brain bouncing all day.

Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me" kinda strikes me as like this guy, He's talking to his therapist or someone in high authority. (Mandated reporter or something, that's what came to mind first)

So, he's complaining to this guy, and he has to choose his words carefully. The start " I'm just an Average man, with an Average life". He's stateing that. He's trying to believe it himself. He knows he isn't average. He works from 9-5 and he pays the price. What's the price? He works for some shady ass business or something. Idk. Just roll with it. All he wants is to be left alone, in his Average home. He's getting tormented by someone in a higher position than him. And in his home, I feel like he'd be either a stalker, or a murder. (hence the repeated use of average!!) Yada yada.. he always feels like someones watching him. Maybe his boss or something set up cameras inside his house, to watch him and make sure he Does his Job. And he has no privacy, (the cameras again) yada yada yada, He comes home at dawn (weird, but whatever, jobs got weird schedules) He locks the bolt real tight. He does this for fear of someone breaking in through the door. People call him on the phone, he's trying to avoid. Who is he trying to avoid? I feel like he's being watched, in some sort of, stalker type way. He wonders if people can see him or is he just paranoid. (Hes not, he's trying to rationalize or whatever)

(paragraph break because I own the fucking post,) Hes afraid to wash his hair, Incase he finds someone standing there (going back to shady business from earlier and someone breaking in!!) .

They say he's crazy, because nobody's heard of this "business" he's working for, so they deem him psychotic.

Ada yada yada Doo de do.. he wonders if the mailman or neighbors are watching him because he doesn't know how far this shady business goes. He doesn't know who's working for it

Yada ye yada da.

Last few minutes of the song, he gets killed. " You hear the door slam and there's nowhere else to run.you feel the cold hand, and wonder if you'll ever see the sun." He gets taken hostage, or killed. The town finally realized he got looped into some shady shit™ and are now worried.
