Rock-hard fall

Prompt: Fracture | ”It’s just a scratch.”

There’s a yelp. Takuya turns around, worry gnaws in his stomach. Did someone get hurt? Would it be his fault? They are out here because of him after all. Kouichi and Izumi are already on the way down, Tomoki’s still clambering across the rocks. Junpei has stopped, the rock he’s standing on looks wobbly under his feet.

Kouji’s legs are visible between a couple of rocks. Takuya starts moving, jumping from rock to rock to get there as fast as possible. Izumi is faster.

”Are you okay?”

She leans down, offers Kouji a hand. Takuya slows his steps. Kouji groans.

”Yeah?” he says.

It sounds like a question. He’s still lying between the rocks. Takuya and Kouichi get there at the same time. Kouji’s right arm is bloody, he’s looking a little disoriented. He puts his left arm over his eyes.

”Just let me catch my breath”, he says.

Takuya sits down. Shit. They should probably head back.

”At least you missed the water”, he says and grins.

Kouji doesn’t even glare at him. The river splashes against the rocks. It’ll start rising in an hour. Not much, but enough that Kouji’s resting place will get wet. Kouichi sits down as well.

”Should I call dad?” he asks.

They’re not far from home, just half an hour on foot, but Kouichi must see the same thing Takuya is seeing. Kouji is not okay. He lifts his arm from his eyes, looks at Kouichi. Takuya notices the seconds it takes for Kouji’s eyes to find exactly where Kouichi is.

”It’s fine”, Kouji says.

He still doesn’t sit up. Kouichi gestures at Kouji’s bloody arm.

”Fine?” he asks and raises an eyebrow.

Kouji twists his head. Winces. Frowns when he sees the blood.

”It’s… just a scratch”, he says.

He doesn’t sound convinced. He lifts it from the rocks, closes his eyes and puts it down again. His breaths are loud despite the river. Kouichi pinches the bridge of his nose.

”I’m calling dad.”

Kouji finally sits up. Blood drains from his face, but he’s sitting. He puts his bleeding arm in his lap, leans his head onto his other hand. Junpei yelps as well. Takuya’s head snaps up, looks towards Junpei. He’s still standing, his hand gripping a tree that’s hanging out over the rocks.

”You good there?” Takuya asks.

”Yeah”, Junpei doesn’t look quite as good as he says, but Takuya’s sure it’s just fear. ”How’s Kouji?”

Takuya glances at Kouji again. Kouji hasn’t moved from his hunched-over position.

”He says he’s fine”, Takuya answers.

He tries to make it very clear how much he doesn’t believe that for one bit. Kouichi takes his phone out, starts dialing the twins’ dad. Kouji removes his hand from his face, grabs Kouichi’s arm. He’s going to say no, try to stop Kouichi. Takuya’s brain goes into overdrive to figure out how to stop Kouji from stopping Kouichi.

”...gonna throw up”, Kouji says instead.

And then he does. Kouichi and Izumi jumps backwards and Takuya quickly pulls his legs out of the way. When it stops Kouji tilts to the side. Takuya hurries to slide down next to him.

”...did you hit your head?” he asks.

”Hmm”, Kouji answers.

Izumi sits down, looks at them. Takuya gives her a one-shouldered shrug. Kouichi moves a few feet away as their dad picks up. Kouji leans heavier against Takuya and Takuya sighs. How does his ideas always end up with Kouji injured? Duskmon must have placed a curse on them or something. ...better not say that out loud when Kouichi is nearby. Izumi pulls off her backpack, grabs a bottle of water and a towel from it. Pours water over the towel and slides down into the hole as well. The hole is not big enough for three people.

Izumi starts washing the blood of Kouji’s arm. He winces, tries to pull away and groans. Curses and buries his face into Takuya’s shoulder. Grips his own shoulder.

”Just a scratch”, Izumi says and shakes her head.

Takuya watches. Kouji’s arm is swollen, bruises already forming between the scrapes. The scrapes start bleeding again and Izumi washes them clean.

”Might… have a slight concussion”, Kouji mumbles.

”We already figured that one out”, Takuya says. ”Your arm’s probably broken as well.”

”Bleh”, Kouji says.

”You’ll be okay”, Izumi says. ”We just need to get you out of here.”

The river is starting to rise, splashing harder against the rocks. Takuya looks around to see if he can spot Tomoki, but the rocks are in the way and he can’t move without disturbing Kouji.

”Tomoki?” he calls.

Kouji winces. Takuya puts a hand on Kouji’s thigh.

”He’s on the shore”, Junpei says, ”on his way.”

Junpei comes closer, sits down on a rock next to the hole. Watches them.

”Concussion?” he asks.

Kouji nods. Takuya pulls a hand across his face.

”Why do you still let me come up with ideas?” he asks.

”Well, it was fun until Kouji fell”, Izumi answers.

She wrings out the towel and throws it into the backpack again. Climbs out of the hole.

”I didn’t bring a first aid-kit”, she says.

She looks incredible guilty. Takuya doesn’t like it.

”I didn’t either”, he says.

”Me neither”, Junpei admits.

Kouichi ends the phonecall, turns around. Kouji nods towards him. Takuya’s stupid, but he’s smart enough to understand that. He looks at Kouichi as well.

”First aid-kit?” he asks.

Kouichi pulls his backpack off, pulls a first aid-kit out of it. Takuya stands up, climbs up from the hole to make room for Kouichi. Leans Kouji against the rocks instead. He can see water gathering at the edges of the hole.

Kouichi cleans the wounds with anticeptics, wraps Kouji’s arm with bandages and puts it in a sling. Kouji is pale when Kouichi leans back. Water’s splashing over their feet. Better get Kouji up before he gets wet and sick as well, Takuya decides. He wraps an arm around Kouji.

”Giddy up!” he says.

Pulls Kouji to his feet. Kouji’s whole body tenses up, his cheeks turn green. Takuya manages to lean him forwards just enough so the vomit misses his arm. It still splashes on both their shoes though.

”Absolutely disgusting”, Takuya says.

He sits Kouji down on the rocks. Stands in the hole himself and checks Kouji’s eyes. They still have trouble focusing. That’s a concussion. Kouichi sits down next to Kouji.

”Dad’s on his way, he’ll know what to do.”

”We should get to the shore”, Izumi says.

She’s watching the water. It’s rising. The rocks will get wet and slippery again soon. Takuya climbs out of the hole.

”Can you walk?” he asks Kouji.

Kouji looks at him. Towards him more than at.

”’s just my arm, legs are fine.”

He tries to stand up, but his legs doesn’t want to cooperate. Takuya and Kouichi grabs him, helps steady him. Kouji leans heavily against both of them. At least he’s standing. Now it’s just the dangerous part left – climbing over the rocks onto the shore.

They take it slowly. Takuya holds Kouji, supports him, and Kouichi helps guide Kouji’s feet when he doesn’t manage himself. Junpei clambers over the rocks instead of walking. Good choice, Takuya thinks, it would be bad if they got another injured person to help. Kouji is already one too many.

Grass under their shoes. Takuya lets out a sigh of relief. Kouichi does as well. Kouji starts sagging and Takuya wraps his arm around Kouji’s waist. Kouji’s dad is there, walks towards them with big steps. Puts his hands on Kouji’s shoulders. Kouji doesn’t look up, doesn’t move.

”Kouji? Are you…”

Kouji shakes his head. The movement is slow. Takuya changes his grip, makes sure it secure.

”He has a concussion”, Kouichi said. ”And probably a broken arm.”

Kousei winces. Puts his hand on Kouji’s back.

”Car’s nearby, come on.”

Kouji takes a few stumbling steps, then stops. His body shakes, tenses up. How does he still have more to throw up? Takuya puts an arm across Kouji’s chest, careful with his arm, and helps him lean forwards. It’s barely anything, but Kouji struggles with it for almost two minutes.

He’s crying, Takuya realizes. Kouji is crying. His body sags towards the ground and Takuya doesn’t know what to do. He lets him, follows him down onto the path. They just barely miss the vomit. Kouji hides his face in his hand, his shoulders shake. Takuya glances at Kousei, who looks just as lost as Takuya feels.

”Kouji…” Kousei starts.

Kouji shakes his head, presses his face into Takuya’s shoulder. Takuya wraps an arm around Kouji and Kouji grips Takuya’s shirt. It feels… nice? Not that Kouji’s hurt and tired and whatever else he’s feeling, but… that he trusts Takuya enough to seek comfort there. Takuya likes it. Or maybe it’s just the concussion. Takuya looks at Kouichi. Kouichi looks just as lost as the rest of them. Everyone is quiet. Even Tomoki. Junpei isn’t pulling any magic trick out of his pocket to lighten everyone up. Even Kouji’s sobs are quiet.

They sit there for a few minutes. Kouji’s sobs dies out. He sniffles, lets go of Takuya’s shirt.

”Okay”, he whispers. ”Okay, I’m…”

He’s not, Takuya can tell. Even before Kouji finishes the sentence. He wants to wrap Kouji up and let him rest until he’s feeling better.

”I’m ready”, Kouji finishes.

He starts standing up. Slowly. Puts a hand on Takuya’s shoulder for leverage and support. Kousei steps closer, holds Kouji. Kouji’s eyes are closed. He stumbles forwards, Kousei’s hands guide him. Takuya gets up as well. Glances at everyone. They all look down. Worried. Takuya doesn’t have anything to say that can chase their worries away. Can’t even chase away his own worry. He puts his hands in his pockets.

”Well, this was a shit idea”, he says.

”It was fun”, Izumi said, ”until Kouji fell.”

”Yeah”, Tomoki agrees. ”I loved it, climbing the rocks was exciting.”

”I’m sure Kouji agrees”, Takuya says, voice dripping with sarcasm.

Kouichi snorts.

”He wouldn’t have come along if he hated it. But we should probably do something less…” he gestures vaguely. ”next week.”

Takuya agrees with that. He’s sure the others are as well. Kouichi lifts a hand.

”I’m heading with them. See you later.”

”Keep us updated”, Izumi says.

Kouichi nods, turns his back towards them and hurries after Kouji and Kousei. Takuya kicks a rock. It rolls across Kouji’s vomit and Takuya grimaces. Not the best ending to the day. He’ll try to make it up to Kouji later. Bring him an icecream or something.

”Guess the fun’s over for today”, he says. ”Or are we going to my place for some games?”

”I promised mama to help her with dinner today”, Izumi says.

Takuya is pretty sure she just doesn’t want to play his games. He mostly owns fighting games and it’s not quite her style. Junpei scratches the back of his head.

”I have a lot of homework. Maybe next week.”

”Yeah”, Takuya says. It’s hard to hide the disappointment in his voice. Mostly he thinks he just really wants the company. ”Maybe next week.”

They wave goodbye. Go their separate ways. Takuya starts walking home, hands in his pockets. Kicks another rock. He’s never going to suggest another activity for them to do.

i think the entirety of niigo would be really interesting in a model au. mafuyu's whole. Deal translates really well into being a model. she's spent her entire life becoming this beautiful ideal model type that everyone around her expects her to be, only to find out that beneath the pretty face she doesn't know who she is. her mother in this au would still be the same but also like an izumi mom type. you know how izumi's parents see him as an object and show him off so that people might think they care about him but really they only care about the model side of him and not the person. yeah.

and i think mafuyu and ena can veryyy much relate to each other in that sense, but while ena has a creative outlet and a genuine passion for modeling, mafuyu has nothing.

and mizuki.. well their situation is a lot more complicated. i like to think theyre a newer model. started independent, just modeling their own clothes, but eventually got picked up by a smaller agency or something of the sort that allows people to have more creative freedom. or maybe they're really just an instagram influencer who models for small clothing companies i don't know. either way they're not out as trans obviously, which makes the stakes even higher for people finding out their secret, since it means not only losing their friends, but also their job

ena. Ena. i waaaanna talk about her it's such a downward spiral. maybe disguised as "improvement" and whenever she hits follower and achievement milestones they all feel like hitting rock bottom. that could be said about regular ena too but you know she'd have a modeling insta too

the fact they can't do anything they want to without fear of people finding out their identity is just. so real yknow. in a way it's like crafting a facade of "you know exactly who i am" Just so the 'finding out' never happens. if ppl are confident they know who mizuki is—but not Enough (they run away before that happens)—then it's safe, they're secure.

VI.) Is your MC combat proficient? Where or whom did they learn from?

I'm going in the order from best fighter to less good.

Yes! Erwin was born in the South (not the same part as Lucio's!), in a rough environment and his clan taught quite early to their children how to fight. Erwin is naturally good at fighting and is a hard worker, so he's been developing his potential since he was a boy. That, and after the murder of his birth parent, he was sold as a slave at 9 by their murderer; Erwin managed to escape the boat where he was imprisoned and was found in his small rowboat by a group of refugees and emigrants from the continent of Kai Shin. Most of them were women, and Izumi quickly got attached to him and adopted him. He had to fight for his life before becoming a mercenary, so he has plenty of experience with fighting!

The main fighting teachers in his life were: his birth parents, another member of his previous tribe, then Izumi (martial arts and fighting with staff) and several of his "aunties" such as Linh (archery), Katsumi (swords) and Lan Chi (shield and double swords arms).

Before death: Niamh felt the need to learn how to fight because she grew up in a period where Vesuvia suffered various attacks and invasions - under Count Spada's rule - especially after her parents got killed during one. Lucina found someone in her relations who could teach her, and she was the one who trained her with her magic. Niamh learnt a bit by herself how to use her magic to defend herself and to fight, then Izumi and Erwin came into her life and she was taught martial arts.

After her resurrection, Asra was the one to teach her back most of it, and body memory helped, as strange as it was. Portia taught her some of her tricks when she stayed in the Palace, and Mazelinka too - the latter liked that Niamh used some "domestic" items for fighting too. The fact that she uses fire and makeshift magical weapons also impresses some foes away.

Although Réamann despises violence and has a phobia of corpses, he does know how to fight. But you will never see him using a sword or "real" arrows when he uses a bow. His style is self-defensive, he knows where to hit and how to knock people out (an example), most of the time to gain time to leave or to intimidate. He also uses his magic of illusion to confuse his foes, blind them and is a very good support for his allies. He uses his Earth and Wood magic either to create shields or makeshift weapons/boosters/armors. Réa also knows a spell that could create some sentient creatures out of rocks/crystals/wood but he doesn't use it much because it takes a lot of energy and leaves him quite vulnerable afterwards.

Lucina and Linh are his teachers for most of it.

1. who do you currently produce?

Koga, Jun, Hiiro, Chiaki, Izumi, & sprinkle in Subaru too when I need Koga's help on song combos. But I mainly produce Koga of course!

2. who did you first produce?

Subaru was the first before I realized Koga truly was the one for me! Tho the first card I picked when I started the game was Hinata's leader card.

3. do you have a producersona?

I am Anzu & Anzu is me. Jk. I actually don't. I'm just myself. But according to you I am like Anzu, so maybe I'm not truly joking.

4. what got you into enstars?

I was just chatting with a friend, ya know who, Jay about enstars when the localization of the game dropped for pre-registration. I'd been itching for a rhythm game to play, so it fit the bill. I downloaded the game & played for a lil bit, but it hadn't quite caught me yet. Then another friend decided to play as well for a collab & at that point I finally got hooked on it completely. Seeing the boys I pick dancing around on the stage??? I was sold officially, especially since I was getting more cards of the boys.

5. what's your favorite headcanon about the character you produce?

Koga's body being a lil squishy. He's not overly muscular & has some squish squish to his belly. It's not full muscular abs. Also taking the fact that he's a Cancer to say that when he gets very emotional & starts crying that when he cannot contain it anymore he's just an absolute sobbing mess. Those are my headcanons.

6. how long have you been in the enstars fandom?

Tho I had my game account since June, I'd say I wasn't OFFICIALLY into the fandom until like August. I skipped a month of playing basically, so I wasn't truly into enstars until after.

7. what is your favorite unit?

UNDEAD, no big surprise

8. what is your favorite song?

Why you making me pick a favorite song??? If I have to pick one it'd actually be Fight for Judge by Knights, but Darkness 4 by UNDEAD is def catching up.

9. which unit do you think is the most underrated?

Every unit has its fans for certain, I can't really say exactly the underrated status. It's subjective since every unit has their own fan base that follows them out of love for the characters. I don't really think any is truly underrated. It just depends on what style people like. Tho if I HAVE to say a unit I think has good music but I rarely personally see, I would say Switch fits that bill.

10. which character do you think is the most underrated?

Considering I hardly pay attention to any character that isn't a boy that I like, I don't think I have any room to be thinking about who could be underrated. I can literally say right here & now that I think Koga is underrated since there's not often anything new in his tag on tumblr, but I find stuff for him everywhere else often. I could also say Chiaki is underrated because of how his personality is shaped, that he wants to be cool & dote on those under him, but his thoughts are very much to tokusatsu, hero stuff, & he has a very typical masculine MALE way of thinking, but he also hasn't taken any time to himself to work on himself, so he can be rather misjudged at times for this. But are they truly underrated?? I can't say, but it's possible. Also very very possible they are not, which is more likely. But I can say that Koga is underrated when compared with both Kaoru & Rei, Adonis even more so. Adonis might be the most underrated of the UNDEAD boys, tbh. I could base it off boys I hardly see, but again - I rarely look for them, so of course I'm not going to see anything.

11. do you have a least favorite character?

I'm not personally a big fan of Eichi & Hajime, even Tori honestly. Eichi I just question why so many times over, but I can tolerate him. I'm not a fan of shota girly-boys. Nothing against them, they can rock those looks. It's just not my forte when it comes to boy characters I enjoy. Their vocals just aren't my preferred.

13. which server are you on?

My main server is the globalized server for English!!! Recently in the past 2 months I did get a JP server account, but it has barely anything on it. Same goes for Basic too, only recently in the past few months did I start playing.

14. what card are you currently saving for?

My next card I'm saving for is Koga's Prison Breakers 5 star that drops in September~!

15. what is your favorite ship?

Koga has 2 hands for Rei & Adonis, but suppose Rei/Koga WAS my first ship, so I always holds more of a special place in my heart.

16. what is your favorite underrated ship?

S w e a t s........... Kuro/Shu. I could say all the same stuff that I said before about underrated stuff, & while I do still agree with all that stuff, I only find a small few stuff for them & I do actively look. I know one reason WHY I don't find a lot, & it is totally fair.

17. what non-problematic ships do you dislike?

Uhh...... I cannot think right now of one that isn't problematic I dislike. I'll get back to you on this one. I'm very tolerant to ships. I just ofc have the ships I prefer above others that I love.

18. what is your favorite shuffle unit?

Gimme more cute BLEND+ Koga pls n thanks. Cute Koga in his lil barista outfit for the Cafe is all that matters. He can serve out parfaits that are loved. Even bread.

hellooo! this is the first time i request something from a blog :D could i request headcanons of diluc, scara, kazuha and xiao when their s/o tells them they're pregnant and possibly how they'd get used to having a kid? tyy! dont forget to take breaks and relax!

Diluc

He's going to stop functioning the moment he hears the news from you.

Literally, he's still as a rock and completely taken by surprise.

He... can't say he'd never wanted children. He's pretty traditional and, since he has this beautiful relationship with you, he assumed it might happen sometime in the future.

But oops guess it will have to happen in the close future, since you're already pregnant.

After staring at you with widened eyes for a while, he speaks up: "...is... is it true?" You hold his hands on yours with a smile on your face, nodding. "Yes, Diluc. We're going to be parents." Hearing your words, he starts to tear up as he hugs you, his touch almost hesitant, as if you were so fragile he could break you if he wasn't careful. "...thank you." He'd whisper between silent tears, hiding his face from your sight.

Very supportive and very protective!

You will have the most comfortable of pregnancies. He will make sure you don't need to move a single muscle to get anything you want.

If the two of you aren't married or engaged yet, he's going to propose to you very soon, keep that in mind ><

He starts reading every book he can find on pregnancies and babies so that he knows what to do to help you when you give birth and how to take care of his child once they're born ><

You have to convince him that yes, you can go and eat in the dining room and you don't need to eat everything in your room or stay in bed all day and yes, you can still do most things and no, he doesn't have to worry so much.

But yeah, in later stages of your pregnancy he gets more overprotective because he doesn't want anything to hurt you or your baby :(

He couldn't be calm enough while you gave birth and had to wait outside of the room, which only made him more nervous </3

But when he finally held your little baby on his arms for the first time, he broke down crying.

You two had a boy! He looked a lot like him, too... with the red hair and eyes... so cute...

He's not sure of what to name him, he'd thought of some names before, but they all disappeared when he saw the little bundle of joy in his arms;;

So you two will have to think about a name again!

In the end, you settle for Felix; name meaning "happy" or "lucky"!

Diluc is a very busy man, but he still does his best to be there for you and his son as much as possible!

He's also not very sure as to how he should interact with him...

But he does know he LOVES playing with him as soon as he starts to understand how to play with his toys.

But... there are not so cute parts about having a kid, after all.

At times, he worries whether or not he'll be able to be there enough for him.

He wonders if he can be a good father, given how awkward he is with his emotions.

What if when Felix grows up he starts hating him for being absent? He wouldn't be able to stand it.

You always reassure him as you both put the baby to sleep on his crib.

All Diluc wants is for his son to have a happy childhood and a loving family, but worries he won't be good enough of a father.

However, when Felix's first word is "'iluc!" as he stretches out his tiny arms towards him, he thinks that maybe, just maybe, he can do this right.

Scaramouche

He thought you were joking, so he laughed.

When you didn't laugh along with him and was met with your blank face, he understood you were serious.

He never even thought he'd be with anyone in a relationship before you came along, let alone have a child with anyone... So he's obviously very shocked and confused as to how to proceed.

After an awkward moment of staring at each other, he cleared his throat and crossed his arms, looking at you with an equally blank face. "So? What do you want me to do about it?" "H-huh?" This man would do anything for you, really, and that's what happens.

He does anything and everything for you, because he's worried about you and not necessarily about the baby you're carrying.

It's not like he hates children- because you can't hate anything you don't perceive as equal or superior to you and a baby ceirtainly isn't either for him-

It's more like he doesn't know what to do with them because he's never been around children enough to understand them.

He's overall very indifferent towards the child ngl.

Then he sees you cradling your baby -a girl- in your arms and his mind just... goes blank. Huh, so that's what a human looks like right after being born.

Your little daughter looks more like him than she looks like you, sorry. But he can clearly see on her face some factions that will look like yours as she grows up.

But...

"Now what?"

He'll help you look after her however he can, since he doesn't want you to be too tired because he never knows when he'll have to leave for weeks or even months without notice.

He's not entirely cold or indifferent towards her, even if sometimes he might resent her a bit for taking away some of your attention.

But like when you were choosing a name for her, he gave a few suggestions and in the end you choose one of the names he thought of!

Her name is Hikari, name meaning "light"!

Due to the nature of his job, he doesn't want to be seen around either of you at the moment in public. It would only put a target on your backs.

And it takes a long, long while for him to warm up to her.

It disheartens you a little, but when you see him looking down at Hikari's sleeping form on the crib, softly poking her cheek with a strangely child-like curiosity on his eyes, you feel at ease.

And he thinks that he can probably handle this parenting thing better than he ever expected. Maybe it's not that bad, after all.

Ceirtainly, he thinks, as he holds her in his arms one day after she spoke her first word to him, this parenting thing is not really that bad.

(Her first word was "papa!")

Be ready, because once he gets attached to your daughter he won't stop spoiling her!

"Are you sure, love?" "Yes, I'm sure. We're having a child!" A smile painted itself on his face as he leaned in to kiss your forehead. "I hope I can be a good father for them."

So the Kaedehara family is getting a new member, huh!

Not that there's much left to his name, especially now that he's a fugitive... but he's excited nonetheless!

Although he's not one to settle down for long, he will make an effort for both you and the child, since it's not good for someone who's pregnant to wander around.

He's very protective, but not in an overbearing way! He simply wants you to take it easy and relax, he can take care of everything else on his own!

That being said, he's not rich like Diluc or Scaramouche, so he's also going to work harder than ever to get everything you or the baby need in advance so that neither of you have to stress out!

He's the one who takes it better out of everyone here, he's not extremely worried or outright indifferent, he's simply worried enough, excited and happy!

He already knew you were the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, so the idea of having a child with you didn't scare him or intimidate him in the slightest!

He's still a bit worried, though.

He is a wanted fugitive in his homeland, after all...

He can only do so much and wish for the situation in Inazuma to change soon, so that he can take both you and his child to see the places he loved to spend his time at when he was a child.

But for now, he's happy enough simply holding his child on his arms, sitting next to you in your small shared home.

You have a girl too! She has Kazuha's hair color and your eye color, she's super adorable ><

He wants you to name her, and you both agree on naming her Izumi, meaning fountain or spring!

"Kaedehara Izumi... it has a nice ring to it." He'd say, smiling down at her.

While Kazuha enjoys travelling more than anything in this world, he's reticent to leave you and your daughter alone or even bring you along with him. So he stays around for as long as you need it.

He will talk a lot to her all the time, so don't be surprised when she picks up very complicated, flowery words from a young age!

He wants her to grow up to be free as the wind and be able to do whatever she wants without fear, so he wants to do his best to be a good father for her!

Xiao

You can practically see the panic on his face when you tell him the news.

It's the most scared you've ever seen him be, and you've been there to help him through his karmic debt.

So yeah, he takes it the worst out of everyone.

"I'm not mad." He manages to tell you before disappearing to somewhere else in a panicked haze, he needs to sort out his emotions quickly before he can properly talk to you about it. The last thing he saw before he disappeared was your eyes, glinting with sadness. And that only made him feel worse if that was even possible.

It takes him the whole day to come to terms with his feelings on your pregnancy and finally face you again.

He's really, really afraid of hurting you and your child. Not to mention he fears he might've passed some kind of curse from his karma to either of you through the pregnancy :(

Like he said, he isn't mad. He's just scared.

He... he literally never, never thought he would get to be a father.

Family was a foreign concept to him, as were a lot of other things you've slowly helped him understand throughout your time together, so knowing he can have one of his own now... makes him happy, and scared, at the same ime.

He's worse than Diluc when it comes to protecting you and worrying about you.

He won't let you do anything alone, even if he doesn't want to be near you because he doesn't want the karma to harm you or your child in such a vulnerable moment of your lives.

Okay so that aside-

How do people care for babies?

What is he exactly supposed to do?

And- do half-adepti babies need any sort of special treatment in comparison to human babies?

He has no idea on what to do if it doesn't involve a physical fight with a tangible foe, so he goes asking for advice to everyone he knows that could have knowledge on that field.

Verr Goldet and Ganyu are a great help for him. Xiao listens with attention to everything they have to say and asks everything he doesn't understand.

Ganyu tells him about her own experience growing up as half-human so that he can understand what raising a half-human, half-illuminated beast baby might entail.

He also goes to Zhongli for advice and he gets more of the same advice he's already heard, along with many, many reassurances that sound like everything you already tell him every day.

He's very worried, but as the months go by and your child's birth comes closer, he can't help but feel a little excited about it.

Everyone who knows him is happy to see him openly happy for a change on those small moments when he gets excited about his new family with you.

When your child is born, Xiao doesn't want to hold him. It took too much willpower to stay as close as he was right now, standing next to your bed as you held your baby in your arms.

He was so adorable, so small, so fragile, so pure- Xiao was afraid of touching him and breaking or tainting him--

He was already crying, he'd started crying the moment he saw you holding your son for the first time.

He feels so... strange. He's crying, but this isn't a painful, or sad feeling. He feels... happy, but scared, but...

The feeling starts to make some sense to him when he finally convinces himself that it's okay for him to hold the little boy in his arms, when he stares with awe at his face.

The baby looks a lot like the both of you. Arguably, more like him, since he has the same hair and the same bright eyes, but in his face all he can see is you.

And he cries more.

You both named him Liàng, name meaning brilliant!

Xiao does his best to try and get used to parenting, and it gets hard at times.

But he tries, and that's all that matters. He tries to be a good father, and is always there to protect both you and your son from anything trying to harm you.

Even though he was so scared at first, you know he loves the new family you've formed together.

Especially when you catch him trying to hold a conversation with your son, sitting down on the bed next to him as he toys with a soft teddy bear, the two of them surrounded by pillows.

The soft look and smile he wears while he does so tells you that everything is going to be alright.

The three of you are going to be alright, and Xiao wants to make sure of it.

His son will never have to live what he lived or see what he saw. He will make sure of that, no matter what.

guess who got a little too excited and ended up making all the avatar for my digichildren headcanon.

in chronological order:

tsuyoshi yagami, taiora's oldest son. i've mentioned that sora would never let him have the same bushy hair as taichi, and thankfully tsuyoshi hated the big hair because it's itchy. still and all, he inherited the recklessness (and apparently the glutton) of his father⁠—but also his mother's wisdom. i read a shoujo manga called meganee, tokidoki, yankee-kun and i couldn't stop thinking about tsuyoshi every time i saw the male protag, ichikura-kun. AND YES HE USES GLASSES LATER ON, WHY NOT? perhaps uncle kou gave him too much video games and he literally glued himself in tv screen every time the soccer game is on.

tsubasa yagami, taiora's 2nd son. no, he's not the "goggle leader" of the group, but obsessed with the goggle ever since his father showed him. tsubasa said it makes him look like an explorer or a pilot⁠ (he wants to be either one someday). he loves going outside, observing nature⁠—birds, bees, flowers, you name it. also apparently they have a yellow t-shirt with PIYO written on it. what a chance.

reina ishida, the oldest child of mimato. the queen, just like her name. hot-headed, loud, but tsundere. a sweet tooth thanks to her mother's amazing dishes, but also has a high tolerance on spicy food thanks to her father. has this model/k-pop star aura, but more into rock bands like scandal (it's a japanese band, not that tv show...).

runa ishida, the middle child of mimato. actually i'm not fond of the hair but the picrew has a limited option. haven't thought much about her, but she's a sweet girl with a milder temper compared to her older sister. perhaps like princess kaguya because her name also means moon?

raiden ishida, the youngest child of mimato. the coolest among all the children. nuff said⁠—the genes don't lie.

makoto kido, jyoumi's only child. his clothes are always dandy thanks to the coolest momma ever. if there was a world where mimato and jyoumi could coexist together, i would say he has a crush on reina.

kouki takaishi, son of takari, twin brother of hinagiku. has this amiable charm that will make everyone (LITERALLY EVERYONE) loves him. hikari teaches him to play piano and he's pretty good at it. naturally good at sport. still searching for his weakness...

hinagiku takaishi, daughter of takari, twin sister of kouki. twins don't have to opt for a similar name, a'ight? little hina-chan's favourite bedtime story is alice in wonderland. watching too many ghibli movies growing up. probably writes fanfiction about uncle taichi and uncle yama.

satoru izumi, eldest son of koukari. he's more of a street smart rather than a book smart, so don't think of him as a nerd. uncle taichi doted on him before tsuyoshi was born. he can play soccer, but he chooses baseball. very observant.

akari izumi, youngest daughter of koukari. she always thought the only similarity between her and her father was the hair, but that's that. without her realising, she was actually pretty similar to koushiro; for example, in terms of getting petty over little details. avid tea drinker like her parents. highly competitive.

Bsd Baby caring pt. 1

25 post event. 13/25. -pt. 2 (Dazai and Chuuya)

General: headcannons and some slight scenario

Warning: slight cursing, mentions of killing, many switches to them/they to a specific gender within the headcannon

Atsushi Nakajima

-I can imagine Atsushi becoming a father of a little baby girl

(We'll call her *Himari Nakajima* but feel free to make up your own name)

-would you or your lover be holding your child the most? It's a mix. Sometimes he'll hold Himari, sometime you will hold Himari

-what would happen generally after the baby's born? Quite a bit has changed. like example, you come to the agency a lot to visit him. He absolutely loved it when you visited him with Himari, especially if you allow him to play with the child

-waking up the baby, once he's used to it. He would be the type to carefully place Himari in his arm as rocks her back and forth, while cooing her gently and playfully

-feeding the baby, would definitely be the type to always come to you so you could breastfeed her (but if you were to offer him to bottle feed Himari? He would overwhelmally feed her as he can't contain his smile)

-playing with the baby, I don't think he's the type to play with the child... But I know that he would read innocent bedtime stories with good morals behind them while tickling them slightly and reading with much passion and emotion (it's known that reading with more emotion is more interesting and exciting for children aka infants)

-walking around town with the baby, also another that would carry his child in his arms... He thinks it's a slight waste of money to buy a stroller and he finds himself way more comfortable with Himari in his arms then in a stroller (yes, he's paranoid that the stroller will break on him and Himari will be racing down the sidewalk)

-meeting close friends/family,

Osamu Dazai: I think he's seriously the type to enter the hospital just to meet the child. He's like "hello~where is the little munchkin at ?!?"other than that he's mostly a switch... I mean that by, one moment he's all buddy buddy with the child then the next he's so serious and cold and tries to stay away from the child without seeming rude

Kyoka Izumi: first person! First person to greet you and child (of course Atsushi too) obsessed with your child (not in a bad way) I can imagine her instantly claiming the child's hers (in a sibling relationship…no not like the Tanizaki siblings)

Doppo Kunikida: it's totally the type to make an appearance and say hello but then go back to work as if nothing happened (but he's secretly keeping an eye on the child)

Ranpo Edogawa: doesn't care. Perhaps secretly take a peek at the child. but other than that, doesn't care

Akiko Yosano: really calm about it (She's just like one of those characters in a movie that has so much confident and talks to a Lost Child with so much calmness to her character) back to topic, she's really calm and doesn't really pester the child much. She's the kind of person that makes an appearance and you don't see her much but she's there

Junichiro Tanizaki: probably the type to be too shy to even confront the child (yes, Naomi had to drag Junichiro to meet the child) but other than that he's probably the most calmest person out of the whole agency, when meeting the child. I actually meant that he would be the one to torture the child way less than the other (PS he doesn't torture the child, unlike others)

Naomi Tanizaki: really chill and over excited. I can seriously imagine the both of you bringing the child to the agency for the first time and Naomi is absolutely determined to hold the child and play with it as if it was her doll (her most precious doll to be exact)

Kenji Miyazawa: (has siblings) he's really chill and really good with kids but he has his moments when he's very "pestering". I can seriously imagine him being one of the only characters that would play with a child without torturing it

Kirako Haruno: she doesn't say much. She probably said oh cool welcome and probably never interact with the child afterwards (sometimes just sometimes she would interact with the child but that's very rare)

Yukichi Fukuzawa: he's probably the type to make a small appearance and welcome the child then back to work (secretly he's very overjoyed the child came over)

Bonus

Soseki Natsume: sometime the cat would hover... Or rather person. I can imagine him just doing his own business and he finds a child in the agency... He's like "..., That's unusual. A child" keeps an eye on the child to make sure there's no creeps around it...

-how do they act around the child and what type of person they act like? (Are they an Uncle figure or they act like a father or grandpa or Aunt etc...)

Osamu Dazai: the playful and in responsible uncle. He's always messing around and cuddling up to the child but sometimes he would absolutely disappear off the map for a couple days

Kyoka Izumi: quiet and protective older sister. She's protecting the child with her life... Not going to lie, she would sometime absolutely disappear off the map for a couple days as well

Doppo Kunikida: responsible and slightly a soft father. Even if it isn't his child, he wants to help properly raise it so it won't be like a certain someone AKA Dazai

Ranpo Edogawa: careless and in responsible uncle. I don't think you can fight me on this one, he would either just be so careless or he would be so in responsibly and give it too much candy (if the baby's lucky enough for Ranpo to have soft side for it)

Akiko Yosano: caring and quiet aunt. I don't think you can find me on this one as well, I think she would be a very caring and mature person around a child. Because she thinks it's unfair to hold the grudge against a kid, like a kid, what did a kid do to her? Only pulled her hair accidentally, people have done way worse to her then pull her hair.

Junichiro Tanizaki: just someone... I don't think you he would be the type to interact with the child much. But, I can definitely see him spiking up a conversation once in awhile. But I can definitely not see him platonically choosing a rule as a family member but perhaps an older brother... But I can see him as a type too also protect the child like how he protected Naomi, basically in the first few episodes in bsd

Naomi Tanizaki: overbearing and excited aunt. Honestly it doesn't matter if your boy or girl she's going to dress the baby up... Almost anything to nice dresses, nice cute suits, very adorable onesies and etc

Kenji Miyazawa: is definitely an older carrying Big brother figure... Like he has his own little siblings of course he's going to develop the habit of doing stuff to children's their age. Probably where you'll find your child playing with, most of the time

Kirako Haruno: just someone... I can see her as the type to once in awhile give your child a little lollipop that she's absolutely made sure that the child wouldn't get allergic reaction from or anything of the sort. But that's basically it

Yukichi Fukuzawa: Grandpa~. I can see him being like some sort of Grandpa to the child. But he isn't exactly the type to coo the child or anything like that (only behind closed doors and in private) he will definitely protect the child. Like if Mori is trying to approach the child, he won't hesitate to smack the shit out of him

Bonus

Soseki Natsume: actually let the kid pet him. It's his way of seeming natural while having a daily dose of children's laughter... He's happy that the child isn't pulling his hair or anything, that's why he's only allowing your baby to pet him

-crying baby, panicking mess. He's almost trying anything he could possibly think of that would calm the child down. He's like one of those fathers that would nervously Comfort the child saying stuff like shh... It's okay..! It's okay..! Or Wahh.! It's okay.! I'm right here. I won't let anyone hurt you.. (he's trying he's best but he doesn't know what to do)

-changing the child, will actually do it if you ask him. Sure he finds it gross but he wants to be a good father and a present father. He's not going to allow some dirty diapers to chase him away from his child

-making the baby fall asleep, sometimes he would make himself comfortable in the crib and activated his ability to transform his arms into tiger arms and wrapped them around the child. Literally the child falls asleep in less than 5 minutes (way to go Atsushi! ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧)

-waking up crying at night, is the type to instantly check on the child (mama tiger instincts) he tries whatever he can to calm the child. He would even bring the child back to the master bedroom to sleep with you and Atsushi

-soothing the baby, isn't an expert. But what he will do is hug the child. He will seriously englove the child in a ball while he came he occasionally coos them

-what does the child likes that makes them laugh, I can picture the child laying on the ground while Atsushi hovers over the child making faces especially cat ones. He can't help himself but fall in love with his daughter's smile (NOT SEXUALLY) and wants to make her smile more

-what does the child likes that makes the baby insteadly calm, tiger arms. Once he did it once, it became an addiction. Depend on how upset the child is he has no choice but to transform his arms into tiger arms to call her down while cooing them

Bonus

-sick baby, doesn't know what to do. So he's mostly their for comfort while he visits a doctor (if he can't visit a doctor, he visits Yosano)

-scared baby, as a child fear was his only friend and he remembers imagining scenarios where people would comfort him. So he knows what to do to try to comfort (because that's the way he would of wanted to be treated if he was scared) but he's still a panicking mess (it's his first child give him a break)

-separation anxiety, he understands in a way. Because he had some sort of separation anxiety with you at one point. Remember when I claimed that it's goal is to be an amazing father to for his child. So whenever he can he will stay with the child too comfort her about her separation anxiety (he truly wants to help)

-first steps, such a crying mess. The more achievements that his child does it gives him comfort. It gives him comfort because all those achievements he gets experience of a father... He's absolutely proud of himself that he's there as a father for the child and he's also proud that the child is growing into amazing person (yes, every achievement even the smallest one, is a huge mile stone in his eyes)

-first words, it doesn't matter which word except if it's sexual or violent but that's beside the point…it doesn't matter which word the child pronounces and he will start crying out of joy with a uncontrollable smile. He might even try to get the child to repeat the word many times before he accepts it

-if someone tries to harm the child and you? Reaction from close friends/family

Scenario: walking in pure daylight with (character's name) until suddenly a very drunk man try to physically harm you

Atsushi Nakajima: he's instantly blocking the hit, like he'll literally take the hit for you. After the fact he's completely blocking you and the baby from his vision and doesn't allowed that person to harm you in any way until the police comes along

Osamu Dazai: stops the attack instantly, you're in a position that allows you to completely shield your child from any physical harm until you noticed that the attack should have happened by now and opened your eyes to see the guy running from the scene. You could tell by the aroma that Dazai was pissed and disgusted by the ACT

Kyoka Izumi: I have one thing to say "goodbye~" demon snow is instantly attacking him or at least demon snow is covering you. She had the most deadly and frightening glare, the most scariest glare that she has done in the whole BSD series. Then she would make sure you're all right even though the attacker didn't even had a chance to touch you in the first place

Doppo Kunikida: you actually get hurt. He didn't notice there was an aggressor until he heard you collapse on the ground. Afterwards he's arresting the guy for assault and over drinking. After the guy was arrested by the police, he then devoted all his attention to you and the child, making sure the both of you were all right

Ranpo Edogawa: you get hurt. But that's slide detective recorded the whole damn thing and show it to the police officers. Boom! Problem solved, he has all the evidence he needs to send that person into jail or at least charge for assault. He isn't the best comfort so we'll just give you a bit of a snacks to make you and the child feel more better

Akiko Yosano: stops to attack instantly, you actually thought you were going to be hit so you instantly curled into a ball to protect the child. After a while you noticed the attack should have been delivered by now... When you open your eyes you found the man on the ground with a bloody nose and a raging define woman hovering above him. Afterwards she makes sure you and the child are complete fine

Junichiro Tanizaki: pulls you away from the attack, when he saw the arm of the aggressor about to hit you he instantly pulled you out of the way. So the aggressor only hit thin air instead of you. Luckily a police officer was nearby and saw the attempted act of violence and took the aggressor into custody for attempting simple assault

Naomi Tanizaki: you get hurt, afterwards Naomi shield you from the aggressor and started a heated argument if you're angry that the aggressor harmed you. Then the aggressive decided to hit Naomi. Oops... Junichiro saw the whole act... Bye, bye, aggressor! I'll let you imagine the rest...

Kenji Miyazawa: takes the hit for you, afterwards the both of you leave the scene and Kenji make sure you and the baby are all right even though he took the hit

Kirako Haruno: you actually get hurt, afterwards she would try her best to contain her fear and protect you by shielding you. Luckily a police officer saw the whole scene play out and arrested the guy instantly

Yukichi Fukuzawa: stops the attack instantly, when you saw the pair of arms coming towards your way you instantly curled into a ball to protect the child. You didn't open your eyes until you heard Fukuzawa tell you it's all right and the threat is gone. When you open your eyes you found the aggressor on the ground handcuffed while Fukuzawa only needing a single foot to hold him still on the ground

Bonus

Soseki Natsume: stopping the attack instantly, he finds it very disgusting that a person can easily harm an innocent young mother and her kid without any hesitation nor guilt. By the time you open your eyes you found the aggressor on the ground handcuffed and the cat hovering beside you

-something they probably did wrong, I can imagine that he would forget that a child doesn't have teeth... Sometimes just sometimes he's too tired to remember that infants don't have teeth meaning they can't eat chazuke... You can guess it, Atsushi tried to feed the baby chazuke. You have to low-key tell him that babies can't have chazuke while try to contain your laughter

-a funny turn of event, after that one time when the child gets to witness Atsushi transform into a tiger.... The child would now be upset if he doesn't do cat faces or noises, what can I say it calms her (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧

-what type of Dad is? Sentimental and nervous dad... Like no joke almost anything the child does is like a milestone and he has so many mental break downs out of worried ness... It's not a joke, you can't change my mind on this matter

Ryunosuke Akutagawa

-I can imagine Akutagawa becoming a father of a little baby boy

(we'll call the baby *Ichiro Akutagawa* but feel free to customize your own name)

-would you or your lover be holding your child the most? You. He's a very busy man, he doesn't hold Ichiro often but he does hold the child whenever he's around. Please allow him to hold Ichiro when he's home, he's rarely home and he misses you and the baby

-what would happen generally after the baby's born? Nothing really he's still protective and has his sister Gin check on you once in awhile. Other than that nothing has changed, he still goes to work like normal. but under the closed doors of your home he's a caring quiet father

-waking up the baby, surprisingly the baby knows when he's in the room. Like the baby will hear Akutagawa's foot steps knowing he's about to wake him up. Akutagawa we'll just hover in front of Ichiro as he wakes up. He won't pick up the child unless his son needs something or you asked him if he could bring Ichiro to you, so he'll most likely leave a kiss on his forehead and heads off to work

-feeding the baby, in the morning he just brings Ichiro to you so you could breastfeed him. At night, he simply grabs a bottle of your breast milk that was stored and feed Ichiro himself

-playing with the baby, I see him as the type to not exactly play with Ichiro... But I can definitely see him reading children's book with good morals to his son, depending on the child's age he might tone it down a bit to not dramatize the child... I can see him reading stories like (The Boy Who Cried Wolf) (The Lorax) and more... So he would most likely read some messed up story lines but with good morals! (You're just lucky that he didn't start reading the origins of sleeping Beauty *if you don't know what I'm talking about, research at your own risk, I was traumatized after reading that*)

-waking around town with the baby, would carry his own child. He thinks that is useless to buy a stroller, only to get rid of it in the near future. So why not carry his own child? It's not like he's multitasking. (My mind is completely going into aww as I imagine a smaller version of Akutagawa aka Ichiro and Akutagawa walking through town calmly)

-meeting close friends/family,

Gin Akutagawa: first one to meet the child actually. After a couple hours after you've given birth, she pays a little visit to meet her niece/nephew

Michizo Tachihara: it was probably the both of you were outside of work or rather he was outside of work... And you decide to showcase your child to him because he was just a coworker of your lover. Plays with the child because the both of you are technically in private

Ryuro Hirotsu: I can also imagine it was an encounter outside of work... He's very respectful towards the both of you even though the both of you are just innocent civilians that is secretly involved with the Port Mafia. If you were to offer him to hold your child, he would, for a couple seconds or minutes but then tries to give the child back to you with the excuse that he doesn't want the child to breathe in the smoke that he was smoking earlier

Ichiyo Higuchi: I can imagine the both of you were just walking around town and Akutagawa was being pestered by Higuchi... She wouldn't pay too much attention to the child because she doesn't exactly like you... But he thinks the child is adorable despite her very strong emotion of jealousy

Motojiro Kajii: probably outside of work... You were told that if he were to give you anything lemon shaped to throw it as far away from you as you can and take cover. Surprisingly he gave a confetti bomb not an actual bomb. He actually tried his best to not set up any bombs around the child but almost explodes the child's ear with overbearing science and technology information

Kyusaku Yumeno: outside of work too. He was walking around planning to cause mayhem until he saw you and took a break to say hello. The three of you ended up having a picnic together while Q was mostly admiring the child

Chuuya Nakahara: outside of work. I can imagine a scenario where to both of you got lost and luckily Chuuya found the both of you. He tried his best to keep his temper under control because he overheard that children have sensitive ears especially newborns

Koyo Ozaki: outside of work. I can imagine one day that she finished work early and didn't exactly know what to do until she saw you and a child? She's seen you on numerous occasions but has yet to meet the child. So she went over there and meet the child. You even allowed her to hold a child which made her very happy

Elise and Ogai Mori: outside of work. The both of them were doing shopping or something of the sort until Elise notice you and a child. She couldn't help herself but to immediately run to you. Mori's just in the background in deep thoughts watching the situation while Elise was fawning over the child

Osamu Dazai: outside of work. Okay, Dazai wasn't expecting to see him holding a child and having a girl by his side. So he went over there and introduced himself. Once the both of you confirmed that the child was Akutagawa's, he sort of had a heart attack, like him! The black fanged Hellhound has a family! He couldn't help himself but completely fawn over you and a child because the both of you are the complete opposite of Akutagawa and he thought the both of you are very cute

-how do they act around the child and what type of person they act like? (I get there and Uncle figure or they act like a father or grandpa or Aunt etc...)

Gin Akutagawa: caring and protective aunt. She's actually the aunt of the child, so why not protect her pride. I can imagine her being very quiet but also protective and sweet towards the child and you (but will definitely have words with her brother, if he were to say something or do something inappropriate towards you or the child)

Michizo Tachihara: just someone... Doesn't get mixed up into that sort of thing. Since he's since he's a spy for the hunting dogs of course he wouldn't get to attached. But if he were to try to arrest the Akutagawa siblings, he'd make sure you and your child are out of the way. Because the both of you are only involved with a criminal, the both of you are not criminals yourself, so he doesn't see why arrest someone so innocent (that probably doesn't even know they work for the port Mafia)

Ryuro Hirotsu: just someone... But will keep an eye on the child. He's like the grandpa but isn't... We all know he can be a ruthless man at any moment, so I don't see him at the type to be around the child much. But, will absolutely try his best not be cold towards the child, because it's just a child. Is normal for them to misbehave once in awhile

Ichiyo Higuchi: just someone... I honestly don't think Akutagawa would leave his child with her. Because she has an odd fit of hating the child then suddenly has loving it with all of her heart... (She's probably imagining the child's hers and not yours because she's very jealous of how you captivated Akutagawa's heart) but would never harm you or the child out of jealousy (because she thinks that's just wrong, even if she doesn't like you she shouldn't kill someone because of it)

Motojiro Kajii: never around the child. He's a walking time bomb what you expect. But when he's around the child he probably give the child like a confetti bomb it can set off at any moment

Kyusaku Yumeno: isn't allowed to be anywhere near the child alone... Almost everyone in the port Mafia has their doubts that he wouldn't harm the child. But he's actually just a protective brother, Like really protective. He'd even glare at Akutagawa if he was approaching the child in a unsettle matter

Chuuya Nakahara: playful and irritated uncle. In public he acts very irritated towards the child, but in private with maybe you in the room, he's a complete softee towards the child (he'd even let the kid play with his hair) but he would definitely have boundaries. He's also very protective, he won't hesitate to punch someone if they were to act suspicious towards an innocent child

Koyo Ozaki: proper and caring aunt... But it's also protective. Probably is the type of person that would teach your child manners... But we'll also beat the fuck out of anyone if they were to harm the child. Because he wants to protect the light inside of the child, like after she stared into your child's eyes... She saw light or at least in her opinion. So she tries her best to protect the child from the darkness that she was unable to protect Kyoka and herself from

Elise: attention seeking and slightly overbearing sister. They're both of them would always have playdates and stuff like that... She tried to be patient until the child's old enough, but in the mean times she visit the child a lot

Ogai Mori: fucking pedophile... He's not the type to 100% care about the child will being instead he's absolutely curious to know if the child will receive a powerful ability like his father. so please if the child has a powerful ability in the future don't fucking tell him

Bonus

Osamu Dazai: the playful and in responsible uncle. He's always messing around and cuddling up to the child but sometimes he would absolutely disappear off the map for a couple days. very warm towards the both of you but slightly cold per say to Akutagawa

-crying baby, okay at first he panicked (like how was he supposed to know that was normal) so he instantly thought that he had an injury or something. Just please tell him that is normal for a child to cry, even to describe it's needs. Once he's used to it, he's like one of those emotionless father's that is able to calm their child by simply holding them. Like no kidding, the child's in his arms and he simply rubbed their back and they calm down instantly

-changing the child, something you would do most of the time. But, would absolutely do it during the night time (he feels guilty that he leaves you with Ichiro to take care of all the damn time) and thinks you deserve a break (especially after trying to take care of Ichiro for a day)

-making the baby fall asleep, he's the type to allow the child to cuddle up to him. He's not moving an inch, and does not an exaggeration. Like perhaps he's sitting on the rocking chair or laying next to you in bed, holding his child to his chest and eventually the child fall asleep

-waking up crying at night, find it to be a nuisance. But, let's it slide because it's his child needing help. When he hears the child crying he quietly gets out of bed and checks on the child. He is the type to always have Rashomon activated just in case. Since he's a night owl, he said that he would comfort the child at night

-soothing the baby, hold them into his arms. If simply holding them and rubbing their back isn't enough he'll calmly coo them

-what does the child likes that makes them laugh, when he talks to the child like he would talk to Dazai (wan). Whenever he did that the child would be giggling while trying to reach up to his face. Surprisingly the child adores his voice since he doesn't use it often (the first time the child heard Akutagawa speak he was like (‘◉⌓◉’) he can talk?)

-what does the child likes that makes the baby insteadly calm, being in his arms. Heck the child will be throwing a tantrum and Akutagawa will just simply pick them up into his arms and the child tantrum is surprisingly gone like completely gone. Like if Akutagawa barely home and barely even hold him of course it's going to be a special thing for the child

Bonus

-sick baby, basically another normal day. But once he's home he tries his best to help. For someone that knows what being sick feels like, he absolutely hates seeing his son sick especially if he acts very frail. Please, don't leave him alone with a sick baby. He's very paranoid... Not only you have to comfort a sick baby but also a worried and anxious father

-scared baby, primal instinct, Who was it!?! If anyone were to scare a child they would get it (probably only exception is you, Gin and his superiors in the port Mafia) but don't suspect for a second that he won't be disappointed. I'm not exaggerating when you said he'll protect the child with his life. Like he would rather die than allow his child to be harmed in front of him. But other than that he basically attacked the one that scared Ichiro then he would try his best to comfort the child

-separation anxiety, doesn't know how to deal with that honestly. Like he doesn't want to go walking around as a Mafiaso carry his child in pure danger! But when he's home he tries his best to comfort the child

-first steps, so panicked. When he first saw his child trying to stand he instantly thought the child was going to fall. But to a surprise he was able to walk a few steps. He will literally sigh with so much relief and just go pick up the child before it collapse (once you told him that children's don't know how to walk automatically but they learn overtime) he quickly came to the conclusion that his child is growing

-first words, almost drops what he had... He's like did I heard that right? his head turns back to the kid to only hear the child saying mama. Depending what he was doing, he stopped and decided to keep an eye on the child. "I know you miss your mother, but their busy" "mama!" "I know"

-if someone tries to harm the child and you? Reaction from close friends/family

Scenario: the both of you were walking broad daylight with (character's name) until some lowly drunk thug decided to attack you

Ryunosuke Akutagawa: instantly kills, while he mutters many curse words under his mouth then proceeds to make sure you're all right while trying to hide the fact that he's absolutely pissed off

Gin Akutagawa: instantly kills, while shielding you. She doesn't even care if she isn't wearing her Port Mafia attires. Afterwards she makes sure the both of you are all right while trying to decompress herself from all the anger she had

Michizo Tachihara: protects, he thinks of you as an innocent civilian so he'll instantly protect you. Afterwards make sure you're all right

Ryuro Hirotsu: protects, he absolutely hates how they attacked an innocent civilian caring a barely an year old child in her arms. And ruthlessly protects you, because if they have the right to be ruthless and try to attack an innocent mother and her baby then he has the right to ruthlessly protect them

Ichiyo Higuchi: honestly pretend she didn't hear you, not exactly on purpose either. Because any noises you do, she ignores it. So when someone's attacking you she doesn't know because she's ignoring you. Luckily Gin was nearby

Motojiro Kajii: surprisingly protects you, he picks you up bridal style and throws a couple lemon bombs and runs away laughing like a maniac

Kyusaku Yumeno: takes the hit for you, that's literally how his ability works... All he needs is someone to harm him and he can curse them. That's basically what happened he cursed them instantly. Then he took you by the hand and took you somewhere else with that terrifyingly satisfied smile (you know he's absolutely pleased that he cursed the person because the person tried to harm you)

Chuuya Nakahara: stop the attack, he absolutely hates it when someone with power decides to pick on someone that doesn't even want to fight. He simply sends them to Oblivion and then proceeds to drag you away from the scene

Koyo Ozaki: stops the attack, she's not going to let some lowly thugs think they could mess with a high ranked Port Mafia members family members... This is how she's showcases her superiority over others, by showing the port Mafia isn't careless about anything

Elise: you get hurt, but when Elise saw the whole thing... She instantly attacked the aggressor with no mercy. Like with pure angry she demolished her opponent without a second of hesitation

Ogai Mori: doesn't do much at all, but is absolutely amused that Elise instantly attacked aggressor for harming a simple civilian. While Elise is aggressively attacking the aggressor he found this as an opportunity to speak to you

Bonus

-something they probably did wrong, I can seriously imagine him not knowing that baby shouldn't be exposed to the sun because they get sunburned so easily when they're 6 months or younger. So the kid is suddenly crying he doesn't know what to do. He doesn't know that the child's crying because his skin is so sensitive to the Sun. Who tells him? Atsushi! When he walks by and see that he's traumatized... "Akutagawa..." "I'm busy Jinko go bother someone else" "is the baby... Younger than 6 months..?" "Why do you need to know..!" "Just answer the damn question.!" "Yes my son is younger than 6 months" "you absolute idiot!" Thanks to the weretiger your child isn't grilled

-a funny turn of event, this is more of a oh shit moment than anything... I can imagine a situation when Akutagawa is just taking Ichiro to the park then someone decided to be an idiot and attack at the both of them. After the situation is mostly dealt with... Ichiro decided to try to touch Rashomon. Thank God, that Akutagawa notice the act quickly and stopped him (his ability can consume space itself imagine what would happen to the infant) this man has never received a harder heart attack than that

-what type of Dad is? He's a very protective father and an absolute workaholic. There's basically nothing that can change my mind

-Tsukasa Suou (A Knight from the Tsukinaga Kingdom. He's 21 and has always wanted to be a Knight. He's well rounded in Archery, Mounted Archery, Swordplay and Singing. He's also pretty crazy about horses so anything related to that gets him going. He values Friendship and Honesty above anything else.)

-Shu Itsuki (One of the founding Alchemists. He's about 26 in this AU and values creation and isolation over everything. He's amazing at sewing and adores taliorship over a lot.. more important things.)

-Mika Kagehira (Current Apprentice of Shu Itsuki... turned into a cat.. by accident. Shu hasn't got the energy to transfigure him back so for now-- a little angry kitty who'll protect Shu with his life.) (And fight Tsukasa... at all times)

-Nazuna Nito (Shu's very first doll, and first broken doll as well. She is nothing more than a reflection of his mistakes. She's free now, but when she was in Shu's grasp, she was nothing. Nito is nothing more than a mirror to Shu.)

-Leo Tsukinaga (The King of the Tsukinaga Kingdom, head of the Royal Guard and most annoying person ever. It’s rumored in the castle that he’s dating the captain of the royal guard, Izumi Sena, but that has not been confirmed by both parties.)

-Izumi Sena (Captain of the Royal Guard. Right hand man of the King and leader among all. It’s also rumored in the castle that he’s dating the King, but he refuses to admit it— also he punishes anyone in the Guard for confronting him about it.)

-Ritsu Sakuma (Strategist of the Royal Guard. His brother is the Alchemist of Destruction, fortunately or unfortunately, he practically bears the weight of his brother’s sins. Ritsu takes pride in his strategies— especially the ones on the fly.)

-Arashi Narukami (Member of the Royal Guard. Albeit, her position may seem like not much, but she plays a critical role in defusing situations and her quick work with make-up makes her an amazing cover for any future operations)

-Rei Sakuma (Alchemist of Destruction. Older brother to Ritsu, and leader of his own branch. Duh. Not much is to say about him, he simply takes pride in his brother and his branch.)

-Sora Harukawa (Apprentice of Balance. One of Natsume’s closest friends and second Apprentice. Sora can see “colors” [albeit hard to explain to other users] and traces of magic + runes. Thus becoming more of an aid to him than anything. Sora values friendship and discovery above all ^-^) [I love him dearly]

-Natsume Sakasaki (Alchemist of Balance. He lives in a tower with Tsumugi and Sora in the desert, where they study the Balance branch of Alchemy. He takes great pride in his friends work— and his own.)

-Kanata Shinkai (Alchemist of Potionology. He’s a healer and Scientist in one— Kanata values life above all and tries his best to preserve it.)

-Wataru Hibiki (Alchemist of Transmutation. In the day, a traveling performer. But when night falls, an Assassin for the emperor. But of course, it’s all in the script. And Hibiki will never stray from the script.)

-Eichi Tenshouin (The Emperor who started this horrid war in the first place. He who holds Transmutation in his fist… A love sick idiot, if you will. He who rules Ordin— higher than Tsukinaga.)

-Madara Mikejima (A secret third thing :)

-Ryuseitai (Kanata saves their leader— Chiaki, with one of his potions… and they swore to follow Kanata… Kanata swore to follow them !)

-Tsumugi Aoba (Apprentice of Balance. The first Apprentice of Balance, an ex-Holy Knight for the Emperor. In fact, he was their captain, but after the war, he too went into hiding. Natsume took him in though, reluctantly or not.)

-Nagisa Ran (Ex-Holy Knight during the war. Literally just a dude. He travels around with Hiyori to see the sights of the world… rocks… he’s all about discovery and adventure. He can still fight but rather prefers not to.)

-Hiyori Tomoe (Ex-Holy Knight during the war. #1 Eichi hater and if he could throw a coup— he would. He travels Ordin with Nagisa. Hiyori can fight but only uses it as defense rather than actual. Fighting y’know.)

-Tori Himemiya (Heir to head of Himemiya family. Trade merchant who acts like a literal princess. Childhood friends with Tsukasa and loves getting into fights with him just for the sake of doing so.)

-Yuzuru Fushimi (Tori’s Butler. Tori’s personal butler, and assassin. Not much is known about him… and it’s better that way.)

-Ra*bits (Nito’s new family— after she was free she found these three kids from different kingdoms— and cared for them as her own.)

Retirement was… nice.

You had spent your childhood fighting with the Avatar to end the Hundred Year War, a feat that was only made more difficult with your Fire Nation roots and connection to the banished prince. But all that’s well ends well, and you ended up getting your happy ending together — you had to fight hard for it, though.

You married Zuko at nineteen, three years after he ascended to the throne, and spent the subsequent years balancing your duties as Fire Lady and taking care of your daughter. Ruling the Fire Nation was a lot, but you knew you could get through anything with your husband at your side.

When he told you his plans to abdicate the throne, you were more than supportive. One of Zuko’s biggest fears was becoming his father, and by giving up his position willingly to Izumi, it guaranteed that he wouldn’t fall victim to the power-obsessed ways of his ancestors. It also gave him a well-deserved break after decades of being Fire Lord, and you were more than ready to get out of the world of Fire Nation politics. You had sat through enough meetings to fill multiple lifetimes.

But just because the two of you weren’t as involved in every day affairs of the world didn’t mean that you were completely out of it. No, that was far from the truth. You and Zuko were still some of the most important people in all of the nations, which meant it wasn’t a rare occurrence for your husband to be called off on some sort of mission.

One such mission was stopping the Order of the Red Lotus for the second time; Zuko had been part of the team that stopped them from kidnapping Avatar Korra as a child, so it was no surprise that he had been called to help for a second time. You knew even in his old age that your husband was powerful, but you couldn’t help but feel concerned about everything he was doing.

This concern was ultimately what led you to join Zuko on his trip to meet with Chief Beifong and Chief Tonraq in the Misty Palms Oasis. He had originally been against your involvement, claiming that the Red Lotus was far too dangerous, and he didn’t want to risk you getting injured in any way. You, of course, weren’t having it. “The Avatar’s in trouble, and I’d like to think I know a few things about getting out of trouble.”

One thing was certain after you arrived — it had been far too long since you had ridden on the back of a dragon. You truly adored Druk, and you felt bad for everyone that would never have the opportunity.

After conversing with Lin and Tonraq inside, you all exited to greet the new Team Avatar. If what you were told was true, then they had been through quite a lot since leaving Zaofu. For as long as you had been involved in foreign affairs, you had never met Avatar Korra nor her friends, so you didn’t know what to expect — an awestruck boy that could barely speak wasn’t at the top of your list though.

“Oh my gosh. It’s Lord Zuko and Lady Y/N. I can’t believe it!” He stared at the two of you with wide eyes, his voice getting higher and higher as he whimpered. He looked like he was going to fall over until another black-haired boy pulled him out of the way, his tone apologetic.

“Uh, forgive my brother,” he said as he put his fist against his open palm, his brother following suit. “We’re just really honored to meet you both.”

“It’s no problem,” you smiled as you and Zuko returned the greeting. It had been years since someone had reacted that way towards you, and you would be lying if you said it didn’t amuse you. “It’s a pleasure to meet you as well.”

The two boys straightened again as the taller one gestured to them each in turn. “I’m Mako, and this is Bolin. We’re Korra’s friends.”

“Ah, she’s got her own Team Avatar?” You inquired with a twinkle in your eye. “You know, I traveled with Avatar Aang years back along with my husband.”

“Of course I know!” Bolin exclaimed. “Oh, I’ve heard so many stories about your adventures, they’re all so amazing!” His eyes widened and you actually thought that he was going to fall over. “Oh, oh, could you tell us about some of the things you went through?”

“Bolin, we really shouldn’t bother them—” Mako started, but you laughed and waved it off.

“I assure you, there’s nothing to worry about. It’s not often I get to relive my journeys to such avid listeners. What would you like to hear about?”

He thought for a couple seconds then shot back up again. “What was it like when you escaped the Boiling Rock together? You guys were the first people to ever break out, right? That had to be amazing!”

You and Zuko both laughed as you shot him a look. “It was… interesting,” he said.

“By interesting, he means it was a complete disaster,” you corrected. “Everywhere something could’ve gone wrong, it went wrong. They had originally come there to rescue Sokka’s dad, but instead they found Suki and I. Then Zuko got found out and thrown into prison, our first escape plan failed, Sokka almost got found out, Azula showed up… it was honestly a miracle we made it out at all.”

“It wasn’t that bad!” he protested. “Getting thrown into prison was part of the plan, we wouldn’t have been able to get the cooler out if I hadn’t been found out.”

“I guess I can’t complain,” you chuckled. “I did get to punch you a couple times.”

“They are so cool,” Bolin whispered as the two of you went on in the background. He elbowed Mako in the shoulder and gestured towards the couple with his head. “Come on, ask them something! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity!”

“I’m not going to ask them something, Bolin—”

“Excuse me, my brother has something he wants to ask too!” Mako shot him a dirty look which quickly disappeared when you and Zuko turned to him attentively.

“Oh, um…” He coughed and scratched his head. “I guess.. is there any advice you have for us? With this whole Team Avatar thing, I mean.” You smiled at Mako and took Zuko’s hand.

“The friendships you forge during your journey are the most important thing — they’re the things that will keep you going during your darkest moments, and they will last a lifetime. There will be mountains and valleys, ebbs and flows, but no matter what, you will hold an unbreakable bond.”

You felt Zuko squeeze your hand and turned your smile on him as you returned the sentiment then nodded for him to continue. “Never take anything for granted, and trust in fate. You’re where you are for a reason — everything will end up working out in the end.”

You grinned and kissed him on the cheek, humming in agreement. “It did, didn’t it?”

After a few more minutes of talking with the two brothers, they went off to join the rest of their group. It was strange being on the outside of it all after how intense your childhood was, but it was… refreshing not to have the weight of the world on your shoulders anymore.

“The world’s in good hands with them,” you murmured as you leaned your head on Zuko’s shoulder.

“They all have that same fire you had when I first met you,” Zuko chuckled. You watched the four of them conversing and a smile graced your lips.

“Oh? Then I think the world’s in very good hands.”

“Behave yourselves,” said Katara, pointing at Tenzin and Lin.

“We will,” said Tenzin.

Aang was looking at his eldest, however. “All of you.”

Bumi leaned over to Izumi, who was standing next to him, and said, “I feel like I should be offended by that, but oddly, I’m not.”

“Of course not,” she replied, smirking at him.

The adults all turned and walked down the steps of the temple, dressed in their finery. There was a gala that they were all attending, and Bumi and Izumi were left to babysit the two younger ones. Kya was away at the South Pole with Sokka, so Bumi was spared having to watch all three of them. These two were enough trouble.

As soon as the adults were out of earshot, Bumi turned to them and jabbed a finger in their direction. “Listen, you two. No shenanigans this time. I mean it. Just go somewhere quietly, and read a book or something. No bending, and no noise! Got it?”

“Paranoid much, Bumi?” said Lin. “You really should talk to someone about that. It’s not healthy.”

“Just get lost, twerps.”

They both turned and walked toward Tenzin’s room. “Yeah, well, you don’t have to live with him,” Tenzin said in response to something Lin said.

“I heard that!” he shouted back.

Izumi grabbed Bumi’s hand and pulled him away. “Just come on.”

Bumi allowed himself to be led into the gardens, into a secluded spot where a bench sat under a tree. It had been ages since he and Izumi had had time to themselves, and he was looking forward to it. Apparently she was, too, because as soon as they sat down, she grabbed his shirt and pulled him in, wasting no time in reacquainting their lips. He reached his hand up around her neck, enjoying the softness of her skin.

He was enjoying their makeout session immensely until he remembered Lin and Tenzin. He had expected to be interrupted by now, and he was suddenly suspicious. He pulled away from her and frowned.

“Those little shits are up to something, I just know it!”

Izumi sent a controlled breath of fire in his face and he jumped up off the bench.

“What was that for?”

“For being an idiot. They aren’t planning anything. They’re probably just off somewhere being nerdy together.”

“You don’t understand, ‘Zumi! The last three times I’ve babysat those two, I’ve either ended up under a pile of rocks or wedged in a hole because they rigged up some kind of trap that I didn’t even set off until days later! And then when I try to tell Mom and Dad it’s them, they don’t believe me. But I’m telling you, when those two get together, their combined powers of monkey business are out of control!”

Izumi watched him give this very passionate speech, complete with emphatic hand motions, without moving an inch. “Will it make you feel better if we go and check on them?”

“Yes.”

“And then can we get back to this?”

“Absolutely.”

“All right, come on.” She stood and they set off together. “I will prove to you that they are the most boring children ever and are not up to anything.”

“You’re my favorite person, have I told you that?”

“You’re my favorite idiot, have I told you that?”

“I think that’s the nicest thing you’ve ever said to me.”

Izumi just smiled, giving him the side eye. Bumi was suddenly regretting his paranoia and wanted to get this over with so they could get back to the garden.

When they reached Tenzin’s room, they found them sitting back to back, each reading their own book silently.

“See?” Izumi held out her hand, emphasizing the fact that they were quietly sitting on the floor. “They’re just reading.”

Bumi walked in and narrowed his eyes at them. They looked up at him innocently, which only made his suspicions grow. “We’ll see about that.”

He took their books and inspected them, then handed them back. He inspected Tenzin’s room, then told Izumi to stay and not let them out of her sight while he inspected his own room, his parent’s room, the garden, and every spot that he knew of that they liked to play at. He even checked the bathrooms. He returned, fuming.

“Tell me what you did right now, or I’m throwing you off the cliff!” he shouted.

“Bumi!” shouted Aang in reply.

The adults had returned, and there couldn’t be a more intimidating line of gazes than Katara, Aang, Toph, and Zuko. Bumi, however, was unphased.

“They’re up to something! I’m telling you! You have to believe me!”

Aang looked over at his youngest. “Tenzin, did you do something to Bumi?”

“Nope.” Tenzin gazed back, unflinching.

“Lin?” asked Toph.

“Of course not, Mom.” Lin folded her arms in protest.

They all turned their attention back to Bumi, who was turning red. Izumi had come to stand next to him, looking concerned. She put a hand on his shoulder, and he jumped.

“Bumi, you really need to calm down,” she said.

“Just take him and make out with him,” said Toph.

Izumi blushed. “How do you know I want to make out with him?”

“Do you really want me to answer that?”

“No.” She grabbed Bumi’s hand and pulled him away, shushing him as he tried to protest.

“So what did you guys do tonight?” asked Katara, mildly suspicious.

“We just read our books,” said Tenzin.

The adults all looked at each other, clearly not convinced. There was definitely something up, but they couldn’t figure out what exactly.

“Did you deliberately do nothing to drive Bumi crazy?” Toph asked finally.

Tenzin’s face finally broke its stoic expression as he tried not to grin. “Yeah.”

“You’ve been spending too much time with your Uncle Sokka,” Katara said.

“Come on, Chief,” said Toph, sighing. “Let’s go. Say goodbye to your partner in crime.”

Aang was flying them back on Appa, so he followed them as they left. Tenzin closed the door to his room, and Katara walked to stand with Zuko.

“This is what I get for being so fruitful. I’m going to bed.”

Zuko nodded. “How did Toph know that Izumi wanted to make out with Bumi?” he asked.

“Do you really want me to answer that?”

He considered. “No.”

Katara smiled sleepily. “I didn’t think so. Good night.” She set off down the corridor toward her own room.

Zuko turned to find Tenzin poking his head out from his door.

“Don’t worry, Uncle Zuko. I have a few tricks up my sleeve if you need them.”

“I’ll get back to you on that.” Zuko turned and walked down the corridor toward the guest quarters.

Tenzin closed his door and smiled to himself. Another successful night.
