so like, I know my VA's. I know quite a bit about them.

overall agreement would say that Kamiya Hiroshi is the post popular male VA and Kana Hanazawa is the most popular female seiyuu

now I know which of the big VA's have been in YGO. but the thing is, a lot of what are considered the big VA's now weren't so big in the 90s or early 00s. in fact, it would be the mid 00's where they generally found a role that shot them to stardom.

so most VA's, if they are big now, were not big during the time they were in YGO (if they were in YGO)

and so I was like "I KNOW Kamiya Hiroshi was never in YGO" but then I remembered I actually only know off the top of my head, 3 VA's from YGO S!0. so I look it up and

so I decide to put on the ep and flick through it to scenes that would feature a police officer.

...no such luck. there was none. so I figured either a) the ep number was wrong or b) Kamiya isn't in YGO at all.

but I'm stubborn so I decide to actually watch the ep.

and yep, voice instantly recognisable, being mean to my boy

so its thanks to Kamiya Hiroshi's acceptance that I got my boy in drag

the ba director telling quintessa that maxine’s powers have a “dance like” aspect? i absolutely love. if you know what aerial silk performers are, that’s the best way i can describe how maxine moves while using her powers. also just any kind of acrobatic and contemporary movements.

decided to join in on @quezify’s eggtober again this year as a little art warmup and I actually ended up really enjoying it!! it’s obviously way outside of my usual comfort zone so I’m very happy that I was able to create an end result that I’m proud of :)

i think the thing that really gets me about pre-canon durge is their absolute sense of duty, and their utter isolation outside of the cult of bhaal.

most of the cultists seem eager to see durge upon their return, and one even says they were the first to feed him flesh. gortash tells them of an exhibition of a bhaalspawn's corpse and another bhaalspawn's creations and durge immediately plans to attack the hall of wonder to recover them. they then apparently entrust said bhaalspawn's corpse to sceleritas fel to "restore" through taxidermy. they deride orin for her artistry with corpses explicitly because "bhaal will never care" and because orin "[does] not understand lord bhaal".

even their infamous prayer for forgiveness is framed around their absolute submission to bhaal's plans, and the crime that requires forgiveness? admiring his rival's chosen. that's one line, and the next three paragraphs are swearing to carry out his plan exactly as they've been told to, all for his forgiveness.

hell, even their room reinforces this. orin has barely touched the place aside from installing her mother's corpse and her manifesto - and that is some of the only decoration. what was it before orin, an empty room with skulls, a bed, a desk, some chests and a wardrobe?

the durge didn't have any semblance of a life outside of bhaal, aside from gortash. and is it any surprise? the only other hint they ever had a life outside of the cult is the flashback of kid durge murdering their adopted family, all thanks to their father's urging.

bhaal even tries to force them back into isolation after they've been tadpoled by forcing them to kill alfira, and then trying to force a durge who resists him to kill their lover. if they continue resisting, bhaal kills them. bhaal will not allow them to have a life outside of him and, if it weren't for jergal, he would've succeeded.

actually i think one of the things i loved most about love and thunder was thor’s character journey and the healthy representation it is for young boys that are watching this movie. how thor shows that it’s okay to show emotions and to feel things even if it hurts. how thor fights alongside two women the entire movie and it seems like the greatest honor of his life. how thor outwardly loves and shares his feelings with jane and wants her to know how much he actually loves her instead of shying away from it. how thor showed that it’s a role of a lifetime to cook and clean and get your kid dressed and take care of them because that’s what a dad should be doing too. how thor didn’t clean off mjolnir after love put makeup on it despite being a traditionally feminine thing. how thor isn’t serious and closed off all of the time but silly and goofy and just wants to live life. he is such a positive role model for young boys growing up right now, and the movie even showed us that by showing how much the kids in new asgard admire him. idk it just makes me really soft and chris hemsworth truly should be very proud of what he has done to thor over the years and how he has become that role model for so many kids across the world. ily god of thunder
