is Coral Island good? What popular game(s) is it like?

I’ve really been enjoying it! The characters are cute and charming, the animals are nice and rotund like they’re meant to be in a farming sim, and there’s plenty to do to keep me from getting bored. I’m in late fall of my first year.

I’ve been loosely following the development of this game since they first announced the kickstarter and well before they had an early access. I feel like they were probably forced to release it earlier than intended bc while it is very fun and playable there are things that aren’t 100% polished / finished. Which is a shame, but it’s still very playable as is. The devs have big plans for 2024 too and I’m hopeful they’ll deliver on that. They’ve followed through on all the other things they’ve promised so far.

And in terms of what games it’s similar to it’s a farming sim, so the obvious answer is Stardew Valley if you’re talking recent games. And if you’re a long time farming sim fan then it’s similar to the old Harvest Moon games. I would say it reminds me a lot of Magical Melody just because of how big the world feels and how much there is to do.

Also there’s a marine biologist that blushes and can’t look you in the eyes when you give him a gift so that’s a huge bonus
