Hogwarts Legacy inspired me to draw and have fun joining fandom again 

Warning: Long!!! and this is just my random talk.

I've been using this account for 3 years now (may be 4, I don't remember correctly). I created this blog mostly for posting my The Arcana fanart, and get to know very talented artists/writers and their Apprentices. That time was super fun, joining a fandom helped my drawing/water-coloring skill improve a lots. And another reason why I was so active at that time is because I was in a long-distance relationship, I didn't have much to do after work except playing games and draw, haha, like everyday. 

And then after 8 years of dating we broke up, because I could not leave everything behind and come to Australia to live with him without marriage. I quitted my job at a travel agency after the covid 19 second outbreak in Vietnam. Anyway, that is when I lost my willing to draw. I still logged on Tumblr thou, occasionally, but I just didn't have the feeling to hold my brushes again. At the same time Nyx Hydra was acquired by Dorian, The Arcana is not the same anymore. I still love the original story but I refuse to play the new stories on Dorian app. The fandom friends I know on Tumblr also deactivated. So I stopped drawing & left the fandom for almost 2 years.

Still I was lucky, early 2021 I found a new job in gaming industry, and met my husband there. It didn't take us several years to decided to get marriage. Last year was super busy, and I still play games, like alots. Genshin Impact, Baldur Gate 3, Red Dead 2, Tiny Tina's Wonderland...They're wonderful, but none of those ignited my willing to draw again. I couldn't explain , I tried to make fanart but always left the piece unfinished...

Until last month my husband bought me Hogwarts Legacy.

I've known about the game since its release, but didn't purchase it until this year due to my personal schedule and I wanted to finish other game first. Playing HL is different, like I see my 15 year old self stepping into the world I wish I could be there but couldn't. I was so excited! So many time I ran around the castle (casting revelio repeatedly and) shouting to my husband about how beautiful the environment is. And I met Sebastian, I thought he's cool but still didn't pay much attention on him until he took me to Felcroft. And all the shadow questline, all the lost and tragedies, the unfinished ending (why Avalanche?). So it has been decided, I wanted to be a part in this fandom, there are so many things could have been added in the game but the dev decided to throw them away, I needed to pick up my pencil and brushes.

And I'm glad I did. It's been 2 years since I joined a fandom and I almost forgot how fun it is. I've met so many nice artists who warmly welcomed me, and whose fanarts are too good that push me to improve my own drawing. I've read many beautiful fanfics that made me sobbing and giggling. It's like I've found the feelings I lost, and I want to thank you all for that.

Damn this post is too long already....

What I tried to say is, I don't know how long I will be here until my personal life pull me away again. But right now I'm on fire and I'm happy HL took me back here. After all I appreciate seeing you guy's contents everyday, and your nice comments whenever I posted something on Tumblr. I hope you don't mind if I post everything on this blog not only HL but also abit of my personal life, I just don't see the need to create another side ones. Okay ! So, much less writing this year, uh. That being said, last year was very experimental and most of my working this year are longer fics.

A lot of things changed in my life, and namely two jobs (since I quit the first I've got in last January) and leaving my parent's home. It's exciting, tiring, confortable and frustrating depending of the days. But yeah, I've got less time as a whole, especially since my first job was so close to my apartment, I didn't have much transport. And less transport mean I can't get confortable enough to write (plus my mom was sometime in the bus than I, so I wasn't going to ignore her because 'I prefer to write, sorry' lol). At home, I bond a lot with my roommate with some silly things on TV (be it YouTuber or Disney movies), so I didn't have much time either...

BUT! With my new job who is farer, I should have much more time :) and it's already showing! I didn't include it because it isn't published yet, but I have a big strike of inspiration lately on Fire Emblem Fates and I have managed to write nonetheless than 6 chapters in less than two weeks, which is amazing. I hope I'll keep going like this before AO3 deadline of draft! :D

On the things I did, well. I continue my fic on Alistair's prequel but didn't manage to write the 5th chapter because I'm unsure of which POV I should take. I'm undecided yet, but I'll have to get it back eventually.

Mille nuits et quelques rêves may seems ambitious because I project to write 1000 chapters, but some of them are really shorts. It's easy to write, but I start to lack chapters. I must get going on it soon (and get to the most interesting chapters 'cause for now it's mostly atmospheric. The Darkrai didn't really show themself yet, but they are a protagoniste, I swear!).

L'odeur du sang is heavily related to Le Baron Rouge : Autodafé as it's a backstory of one of the futur characters Gvidon will met. And she'll have a huge impact on him. Speaking of him, I have actually a second chapter to deliver soon for BRA too. Things are going smoothly for it and I'm so happy. It's a huge project for me as it tag me along in my adulthood, and I want to deliver the entire story I have for my slavic Bisharp.

And the last fic is in anonymous lol, so I won't talk about it. I'll just said that I enjoyed the Slytherin boys and a lot of the game taste like wasted potential.

Biography:

Born a half-blood witch to the Belmont House whose family name derives from “Beautiful Mountain” which is said that their oldest ancestor came across the legendary Phoenix on a mountain and proclaimed the mystical bird as the Family Crest with the letter “B” in cursive.

The Belmont’s were once a distinguished house among the Wizarding World until tragedy struck when her father was in his seventh year at Hogwarts, the entire family was assassinated by Dark Wizards, making him the sole survivor of the once prestigious house. He gave up his reputation to marry her mother and was deemed a “Blood Traitor” from the other distinguished Wizarding Families.

Her father Quincy Belmont is an expert duelist that could rival even the best Aurors. He was placed in Slytherin and made quite the name for himself and gained reputation in his youth. A strong ambition for knowledge. He works as a magical theorist and because close friend with his senior colleague Eleazar Fig.

Her mother Flora is a muggle but can see magic but has no magical power prominent within her, unlike most Muggles who don’t see magic, Flora could see it clear as day but her family deemed her just seeing things and she was being punished for seeing things only the higher power should see.

She devoted a love of magic, when she first met a boy who could cast fireworks from a stick and transform a rock into a toad. She didn’t know at the time she met her future husband. When she became pregnant she was able to do magic for only a short period which baffled her and Quincy. She felt the bubbling of magic from her unborn child and believed deep down her child was going to do great things and she’ll give the whole world for her child.

From the moment Mirella was born, she had a strong connection to magic. When she was a child her ability to control Ancient Magic awakened and was too powerful to control. They didn’t know how she came to have such a rare ability since neither of them have any records of Ancient Magic in their bloodline.

Her parents wanted to focus on keeping it under control since it was volatile and unpredictable and would be dangerous for her to wield such strong magic and it would bring forth a target on her back, both knew certain wizarding families would stop at nothing to obtain the power their daughter wields for darker purposes. With heavy hearts they kept her away from attending Hogwarts. Mirella was saddened she couldn’t attend Hogwarts for her magic was too powerful for a child to wield at a young age. She wanted to attend the school her father talked about and learn all she can about magic and make friends.

She practiced small charms and spells especially used for dueling with her father who was an esteemed duelist during his time at Hogwarts. Even though she was using a borrowed wand for her training, her father was impressed by how strong she was. She was trained to be able to defend herself against foes she may come across.

On her 15th birthday she finally received her acceptance letter to Hogwarts which made her so excited to finally attend the school her father attended in his youth. She wasn’t sure which House she could potentially belong to. But her father told her that any House would be lucky to have her.

The ministry sent Professor Fig as her liaison to the school. Fig was a friend of the family through her fathers job as a Magical researcher and theorist. Her parents wished her luck and to have fun and learn all she can but also to be cautious of her surroundings and make plenty of friends.

Personality and Traits:

Mirella is a kind hearted but headstrong witch. A gentle heart with a strong affinity of loyalty. She has a thrill for adventure and loves to explore and learn all she can about magic.

Underneath her kind exterior is a raging storm with a force to be reckoned with. She can be quite stubborn at times but she’s always there for those she cares about deeply.

Harry Potter FRED AU (It could not be named anyhow else and you’ll soon know why)

Few days ago I was taking a nap and when I woke up my half-conscious brain thought about the name Albus Severus again because it’s a terrible name whether he is named after anyone or not. And I thought ‘did Ginny even get any say in it or what the hell’.

I really think that Harry should name their first child (he did) James Sirius, which is fine, Ginny would name their second son and together they would name their little girl (which I think they did).

But then I thought ‘what would she name him?’ Obviously my first thought was Fred, but I was like ‘nah, that one is for George’s kid... unless’

Here comes my AU, imagine it with me:

It is the first 1st of April after the battle, it isn’t very happy for someone’s birthday, then Percy gets an idea. He cannot forget how the last thing he said to Fred made him smile and he refuses to do anything on his birthday that would not achieve the same goal. So he looks at George and proposes this... what if every one of the siblings named at least one of their child Fred or any equivalent of that, if for nothing else than at least for the chaos it will create at Hogwarts. Everyone is silent for so long Percy just wants to take it back and obliviate everyone, but then Fleur stands up to it and gets really passionate about it and then it slowly dawns on everyone and they love it. It is the first time in all those months that George gives them a non-forced smile. Everyone is super into it. Mrs. Weasley is crying because a) she is happy because her boy is smiling again b) she knows she will be super embarrassed if she ever has to talk to McGonagall after she finds out about this and c) she thought Percy was better than this. Nevertheless if it makes George smile again, she won’t be too harsh about it.

It goes something like this (I’m kind of ignoring the cannon children, but whatever):

- Bill and Fleur name their firstborn daughter Frédérique. She had some mean kids try to laugh at her for it because they thought it’s stupid. She shut their mouths pretty quickly.

- Charlie doesn’t have kids. But he did discover a new breed of dragon, which main trait is that it isn’t violent at all, it’s just really mischievious and will mess up with everyone and everything. Charlie names the breed Island Trickster, for both the experts and amateurs the nickname Fred catches on pretty quickly even though majority of people doesn’t know why.

- Percy’s first child is also a girl but he refuses to let anything stop him from naming his child Fred, because a) it was his idea and b) he’ll be damned if anything keeps him from making this prank, that he created in honour of his brother, work. She gets the name Frederica. She hates it and demands her family calling her by her second name. They do and none of them mind, but before she departs for Hogwarts her parents take her aside and explain why they named her this way. Her prankster blood kicks in and from the moment she steps on the train she introduces herself as Frederica, Fred for short.

- George’s first kids are twins, boy and girl. There is no hesitation - their names are immediately Fred and Freda. When they have the second child, there is a mild discussion, but eventually his name is Fredrick. Proud of their legacy, at school neither will respond to anything but Fred. They become Fred & Fred and Fred.

- Ron, who through Hermione discovered Queen, decides to name their son Freddie. Hermione doesn’t see a reason to protest, she loves it.

- Ginny lets Harry name their first son. First, she likes the name James Sirius. Second, whatever happens that child will have prank as their blood type, so there is really no need to add onto that. Third, she is naming their second child and it will be a version of Fred. Harry does not protest at all, because a) he already has his son named after his father and godfather and b) he refuses to stand in the way of this prank. Also Ginny, being the undercover little shit she is, names their son Fred George... everyone keeps calling him Fred and George. They both also talk about naming their daughter Lily Luna Freda or something and they do, it’s just not that public so she can do with that potential whatever she wants.

It also happens that the whole former gryffindor quidditch team joins in on this (including Lee Jordan, who is considered part of the team) as well as bunch of other friends.

Mrs. Weasley is still a little sceptical but she can’t deny that her boy would be proud. Her job also gets a little easier, because now she just automatically makes her grandchildren sweaters with F. Sometimes she makes more of those that she should but the kids love it (cue later).

Meanwhile in heaven James, Sirius and Remus are both really excited and really jealous. Fred is waiting for the chaos to take reign.

As for Hogwarts, most of the professors are losing it sometimes with entertainment (they mostly enjoy it when someone else is in pain because of this and they love to watch it), sometimes with annoyance, sometimes with both and sometimes actually losing it about to break down and cry (especially when some of their colleagues would just watch and smile). Alltogether in all the houses there is about twenty Fred Weasleys (boys, girls, first names, second names) and the Potters (James Sirius, Fred George and Lily Luna) plus the other Freds - all of them there for two or three years, which basically translates into destruction of the highest level.

There are family gatherings frequently at the Burrow, where they all just sit around the table writing letters to their kids and all of them writing one howler.

The howler arrives to a random person, usually a friend of one of the Weasley/Potter kids and the whole Great hall hears, “FRED! WHAT DID YOU DO THIS TIME?!”

All the Fred’s look at each other, because they all did something they shouldn’t (which their parents don’t know, but the kids don’t know they don’t know). No one also knows which Fred it is meant for. No one knows if they are being scolded or messed with.

Very rarely the howler would yell, “FRED WEASLEY”, and in the fat pause after that, every single person in the room can hear, Fred George Potter say “oh, thank Merlin’s nightgown.”

Sometimes the howler would shout, “FRED. I AM SO DISSAPPOINTED IN YOU. YOU WERE NOT GIVEN THIS NAME TO KEEP PEACE AND TRANQUILITY AT THE SCHOOL!” Molly Weasley may or may not scold her children and children-in-law for this one. (Obviously if the kids weren’t into pranking their parents would never force them or out them like this, but since they are all openly on board this happens way too often for the professors’ liking.

Then there is christmas time. Most of the kids leave for home... most of them except for the Weasley/Potters and some of the other Freds, whose parents are friends with the Weasleys. The sweaters come and... every signle one has a F on it. None of the kids protest. They wear it proudly. There are attempts at making fun of them. It doesn’t work.

James walks around announcing to everyone repeatedly and very loudly that his name is Fames Firius Fotter. In the meantime, as long as Lily is wearing her sweater, she refuses to react to anything but Fily or Funa and that includes the teachers.

Everyone tries to resist, everyone breaks down eventually.

McGonagall wants to look stern, but she is loving it.

There is a relatively new professor trying to complain to the colleague sitting next to him. Neville Longbottom, who names his children Frank Fred, Alice Fredricka and Augusta Freda, nods sympathetically while sipping his tea. “I know,” he says. “Imagine if one of them named their kid something like Prank. We would call them a normal name now.”

That is the moment Minerva McGonagall loses it and actually chuckles. Every single one of the kids writes a letter to their parents about that one.

All hell loses all the breaks on April Fools. McGonagall wanted to go easy on punishing the pranks for several reasons and one of them is that it is the twins birthday. It takes one April Fools when the kids take it relatively easy for them to figure out the punichments are quite mild. The next year they go Wild and  McGonagall understands that her nostalgia is a dangerous thing. She stops it then and there, because she knows it won’t stop them, it might just stop some people from getting hurt.

Sometimes Peeves won’t have the mood to come up with something himself so he just goes with calling everyone Fred. Some teachers take from it, figuring that if they don’t remember someone’s name it must be because they decided they will deduce it later, which translates to “the name is Fred”.

Years later when the children leave Hogwarts there is formed a new quidditch team. The name is “Flying Freds”. They are all married and stuff, so their last names are all different, but all of them share the name Fred, which only increases the children named Fred, because who wouldn’t name their child after their favourite quidditch team, amiright?

People in both the wizarding and muggle world are astonished as to Why is there suddenly such a popularity to the name, while in the afterlife Fred won’t stop saying shit like “The students have surpassed the teachers.” and the Marauders are both upset they didn’t manage something like that, but also impressed and really loving it.

McGonagall once talks about it with George and he says it was Percy’s idea. Percy, always perfect prefect Percy, blushes as McGonagall looks at him and says: “All those years I was worried you aren’t an actually Weasley and you’ve just been hiding all that potential, hm.”

It is that moment they understand she might have always been strict, but she loved those little and big pranks simply because they were creative and smart and she was always so proud of the Marauders and the twins for it.

BACKGROUND / FAMILY.

Mae was born in Kinsale, Ireland to two pureblood wizards. Her mother ( Cara Boyle ) was the owner of a small bookshop in the coastal town of Kinsale, and her father ( Dahey Rosmerta ) was a sailor. They had a romance that only lasted while Dahey was in town over the summers, and they never married. Yet, their relationship resulted in a daughter, born out of wedlock. Kind of a surprise for the both of them.

Grew up mostly with her father, and only spent the summers with her mum. When with her dad, she lived alongside him and his crew on his boat. During the summers, when stuck in Kinsale, she spent most of her time just being bored out of her damn mind. Kinda longed for the ocean, wanted to get back. Felt like a fish out of water.

Her mother later married a muggle man, and had two more children. Her father never settled down.

HOGWARTS YEARS.

Kind of a hat stall between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw? Ultimately landed in Ravenclaw though.

Was DEFINITIVELY that™ girl who would jump headfirst into the great lake, having absolutely no fear of the repercussions. Probably made friends with whatever lurks down there too.

It’s cold or frozen? Doesn’t care, will still swim. Gained a bit of a reputation as someone with nerves of steel because of it. 

Missed life on her father’s boat, but was also really excited to learn stuff? She’s naturally curious, and can’t resist a challenge. Worked incredibly hard while at the school, made some friends... Spent most of her time by the water, studying or reading a book. 

At some point, she broke into the Slytherin common rooms, because someone dared her that she couldn’t do it. Also she wanted to see the lake. Doesn’t take a lot to get her to do something.

Was a lot more mellow than her Ravenclaw peers. Didn’t care about what anyone else was doing, and never resorted to backstabbing. Kinda just went with the flow, did her best work, didn’t pay too much attention to what others were doing.

Did however get into trouble a lot, but never for hurting anyone else. Were usually instances of her ACCIDENTALLY finding herself in the forbidden forest at night, or taking a midnight swim, or maybe accidentally breaking into empty classrooms to practice magic when no one was around. Or maybe breaking into the restricted section at the library. Mae tried everything.

Could however sporadically flame up when she felt that it was necessary, which was mostly when someone younger needed to be defended. Mae has pretty strong maternal instincts and can be highly protective. Will fight u.

She played on the Quidditch Team as keeper, but quit after three years on the team because it was taking up too much time, and she would rather focus on her studies ( and swimming ).

Started her own Great Lake Club at the school, which consisted of students that were ‘fans’ of the lake, basically. Club meetings were basically just them either researching the lake, swimming in the lake if the weather permitted ( everyone’s not into winter swimming, apparently :/ ) or just hanging out by the water. Wasn’t the most serious of clubs, but they had fun.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

AFTER HOGWARTS.

Mae graduated Hogwarts with top marks, and could probably have gone into any field she may have wanted, but she mostly just wanted to see the world. Wanderlust ingrained in her bones. Craving the sea.

So at the age of eighteen, she bought a shitty boat, and set off to see the world on her terms. 

She ended up doing some work in different taverns across Europe, picking up odd jobs as a barmaid whenever she was in a town. Always chatting up customers, laughing with patrons, cracking jokes and making sure that the night never ended.

After a few years at sea, she eventually started to settle down, but never quite committing to anything. Could never bring herself to completely rooting herself to land. If she’s stuck on dry land for too long, she feels like she’s gonna go mad.

Still, at the age of twenty four (1970), Mae used the inheritance from her parents to buy the Three Broomsticks, a decision which she mostly made on a whim. She had been working in odd bars for a few years now, and kinda wanted something to call her own? Start her own legacy. Have some place that she could call home. Somewhere to return to.

Boat was kept ( at this point, she had a nicer one ), and she still spends her off days there, and some nights as well. Sort of like an escape. Definitively shows up to the bar with seaweed stuck in her hair ( so has to shower in her apartment first tbh ).

One of the reasons why she loves having a place that she is now tied to ( aka Hogsmeade ) is that she has been able to acquire and actually keep more personal items. She has quite the impressive library in the inn’s attic, for one. Books were one of the things she could only keep a few of, when she was living out of her boat.

Disappears from the Inn for a few weeks every now and then, but makes sure that someone else is in charge while she is away.

When the war first started, she tried to stay neutral. Had just bought a bar, and didn’t wanna alienate customers. But as time went on and the horrors became worse, morals kicked in, and she joined the Order. Today, she’s a member on the down low, and her affiliation with them is not public knowledge. Most of her tasks within the Order is pure intell gathering ( or spying ), but she also spreads information and acts as a messenger when needed. She just... wants to feel like she’s doing SOMETHING.

Keeps most of what she hears under wraps, but will share anything of interest with the Order. Other than that, her lips are sealed.

Everyone is welcome at the pub, as long as they leave their bullshit at the door. She considers the pub a zone where sides shouldn’t matter ( yet she does... sometimes close the bar down so that the order can meet there if needed ). And is definitively brave enough to throw any death eater out on their ass if they fuck around. In her bar, she’s in charge. Can 100% confirm that Bellatrix has been kicked out a time or two. #nervesofsteel

AS A PERSON.

Loves telling stories and is very good at it too !!! Someone’s bored? Rosmerta will serve them a story of her travels.

KIDS LOVE HER !!! For varying reasons, depending on their age ( smh @ Ron ). But she’s great with kids.

Has a big, soft heart and is kinda known for taking in strays. A kid has been kicked out by their parents? Aight, you can stay at the inn for a while until we find you something more permanent / things calm down.

More of a cool aunt than a mom though?

LOVES COOKING AND BREWING MEAD. Is really good at it too. The menu of the inn has been designed by her, and though she doesn’t spend a lot of time in its kitchen, she does oversee everything that happens in there. The menu itself is pretty simple, Mae believes in quality over quantity. And good fucking mead.

Has a reputation of taking zero bullshit? People don’t get away with SHIT when she’s around. Will personally drag your ass onto the street if you stir up trouble in her bar. Or anywhere else tbh.

Her mannerisms are kinda harsh? She’s generally just little bit rough around the edges. Doesn’t shy away from telling people what she thinks either, but does it in a way so that she almost always gets away with it? The mead might be a contributor, but you know.

TEMPERAMENTAL AS FUCK. Has a good heart, but she’s not... the nicest person out there. Can be petty, overemotional, brooding, melodramatic and short tempered. Her moods are known to change with the weather, and depending on how long she has been away from the sea. Though she loves the pub, she gets a bit stir crazy when she’s there for too long. Usually she’s pretty warm though. 

So easily bored? Needs constant change to feel like herself, and to maintain some sort of happiness. That’s one of the things she likes with the bar, there’s always something new going on. 

Aaaaand she’s definitively wild. Was way worse when she was younger ( don’t ask me about Mae in her 20s, she was a mess ), but she can’t be tamed. Will always follow her next whim, so eager to see where it takes her next.

Has remained an optimist over the years, which has been hard to do? She really believes that everything will be okay, but she keeps this kind of on the down low.... for some reason....

Never stayed in one place long enough (when younger) to develop an accent, so it’s a bit all over the place. She has a noticeable Irish accent ( from her father ).

Is around alcohol all day, but doesn’t drink at work. Can drink anyone under the table though, and has a scary high tolerance for alcohol ( which she usually jokes stems from her upbringing as a sailor ).

Has a kind of odd sense of humor? Can be a bit dark at times. Usually laughs at her own dumb jokes.

Wants everyone to have a good time when at her pub, and is REALLY trying to be a good hostess at all times?

SO CURIOUS, but also very good at minding her own damn business. Mostly curious about people’s motivations and how things work so like. Doesn’t put her nose where it doesn’t belong. Usually. Also good at keeping secrets.

Always stands her ground and trying to sway her is basically like trying to move a mountain. Good luck with that.

She’s also a highly practical person? Doesn’t complicate things too much, doesn’t try to make anyone jump through hoops. Things just are the way that they are with her and she will usually give it to you straight ( aka no mind games, thank god ). Has zero patience or time for bullshit.

Working in a bar really fits her because she genuinely loves talking to people?

STYLE ( FASHION / APPEARANCE ).

Mae has ocean blue eyes and blonde hair that she usually wears down, or pulled back into a soft braid. Since she still spends a considerable amount of time on her boat, she always smells faintly of the ocean, and her hair is wavy from sea salt. Skin is freckled and sunkissed, and she usually looks a bit glowy.

Wears minimal makeup. Some smudged eyeliner and lipstick, but that’s it. Prefer softer colors when she does.

While at work, she dresses in low cut shirts and loose fitting pants.

Gravitates towards lighter colors and earthy tones. Wears a lot of white, grey, light blue, light brown....

Keeps her nails short.
