Hc: Loki's Nordic runes are really good, he writes them like they're stamped on, but his English is the most incomprehensible ancient calligraphy you've ever seen and his math is even worse.

Loki as the assassin poisoner prince who does the evil "feminine" type of murder would fix a lot of ambiguity in the Thor movies. They would both be murderers, but one would do so legally and "honorably" and the other "dishonorably" while doing Odin's dirty work under the table.

1. Why do they prefer the prince that nearly started a war over name-calling when they have no evidence of the other's involvement in plots against Asgard? Because Thor is the one that does things in the Odin-honoring way, to their knowledge!

2. Why do they trust an enemy king more than one of the princes? Because the prince is dishonorable and kills in the evil gay way and thus ranks even lower in their eyes.

3. Why is one prince so distrusted and challenged despite his position? Sif was ready to attack him as he sat in the throne. People gloss over that. It wasn't just "Loki got mad they looked at him wrong." Because they can't have someone like that corrupting the throne, so they can revile him.

4. It adds some extra fucked up context to Loki being so proud of his attempt to annihilate Jotunheim via means that don't involve Asgardian troops. He proudly proclaims it to Odin. I think this hints he has done stuff like this before but on a smaller scale at Odin's behest. How many political enemies has Loki assassinated?

5. It speaks to Loki's self-sacrificial nature in a very sinister and villainous way. Loki is being self-sacrificial but for evil! Loki is willing to be the scapegoat for the realm! Willing to stain his hands and reputation for the sake of Asgard, even if he is reviled in turn. Odin and Thor can remain being honorable as long as Loki does the dirty work. When Loki learns that it's not what Odin wanted. That he failed to be of use, he attempts suicide.

There should be some kind of sports festival for kids in Asgard.

Tiny Loki is still too young to participate, so he's mostly just there with Frigga as a spectator to watch Thor, but there's one event for the little brothers and sisters. The toddlers ride flying horses with their mums or dads to go grab bags which float in the air and are filled with small toys.

Why are the celebrations of this world so... asanine? In Asgard the festivities would be for tales of glories and battles. Stories that were passed down from generation to generation, and regarded in the highest esteme.

Perhaps in some ways these "traditions" were largely the same. And perhaps Loki was biased, but that did not change the fact Loki saw little to no interest in engaging with anything of this world ( lest another beast come after him and force him to do so. )

But something was softened in the Ice Prince's heart. Perhaps it was seeing sons with their mothers, brothers playing in fields... it reminded him of an older time. a simpler one. where war was only a story they celebrated and they could fight it all together. Maybe what he felt was jealousy, maybe it was anger that these lives were happier than his. Mischief had already lifted his heart, but... perhaps... just this once...

Loki had found himself in a secluded part of the field's. There were very few eyes that would be upon him as he strode his way among the freshly bloomed flowers. He saw the ones he was searching for. With a skilled and delicate finger, he took them from the ground and into his hands.

He had a sizable collection of flowers, which to any casual observer were nothing special. But to him, he knew them alone as his mothers favorite. He'd often spent hours collecting bouquets for her from the lush castle gardens. The light that shown on her face whenever she would recieve such a gift was something he always cherished. Her smile was the prettiest. He often wondered if she was ever truly happy.

Every stem weaved into the next. He lost count of the hours he spent on the field floor, while waltzing in his memories. Good memories. Happy moments with her... that was squandered. The wreath was only halfway done, by the time he became aware of approaching footsteps.

Loki had tried to keep to the outskirts of the cities for the past few hours. He knew full well the extent of the trouble that he had caused, but it was not the police that he feared hid from in that moment. ( Irony, it seemed, was required with the string that connected the events. He wanted his attention and now shied from it. )

He was not foolish enough to believe he would remain hidden for long. Even in the palace, as they played their childhood games, the light always revealed what was hidden in the shadows. Loki's only hope then was that perhaps Thor might be worn out before he caught up.

This was a fool's hope.

Loki stood now on the cliffs that overlooked the Quill Pillar Shores. He had been traveling through the forest for several hours by now ( no sign of the conductor to be found ) his anger reduced to a meager flame.

Quietly, Loki watched the newly formed turmoil of grey clouds, listening for the peals of thunder that marked the presence of the storm. Wind tossed his hair, but he stood firm with his hands behind his back. There was no dagger within them.

There was no greeting needed; Loki knew as soon as the grand figure appeared.

❝ I do not want to hear your reprehensions, brother. ❞ Loki grumbled, keeping his back to the warden. ❝ Nor will I be forced into returning to that place. ❞
