Forgive me for the rude swearing, but BOY, these pastries have been breaking my brain, just like so many things in S2, for weeks now.

Could they very well just be a completely random and unimportant thing/plotdevice (just like the Flaming Sword) we will never see again? Sure. Were they also extremely specifically and almost dramatically Chekov‘s-gun-ishly set up in S2E1? Yes. Which is exactly why my delusional self is frothing at the mouth over not being able to figure out what tHEIR DEAL IS-

Anyway, if someone knows, Do feel free to enlighten me. (Update: Hey, turns out someone does know, indeed! And that someone is @drconstellation who wrote this incredible meta about the theme of offerings in Season 2. And the Eccles cakes are part of it. Go read it!)

In the meantime, upon googling them, I did come across a fun little (possibly clue-y) piece of information, which is:

A Rose By Any Other Name:

a Romeo and Juliet inspired mascarpone and pistachio praline filled cream puff topped with raspberry-rose panna cotta, rose shaped raspberry-rose pate de fruit, candied Sicilian pistachios, and a chocolate dagger.

Sometimes, when it's slow, we get to practice our skills at work, and this is one of those times! today i was paired with a coworker to make a buffet portion dessert for a randomly assigned theme- ours was Shakespeare and we were inspired by Romeo and Juliet! We had 24 hours to plan and 4 hours to make everything start to finish, and this is what we came up with!

#this is the kind of stuff I do #if y'all are interested I can break down the components and tell y'all how/why we did what we did #it was so much fun to get to create something from start to finish #I even piped and painted the chocolate daggers!#also those puffs were HOLLOW inside I'm so proud #would've been so embarrassing to present to my chefs with dense puffs 🙃#my chefs really liked what we created !!!!#I was so glad #I was worried it wouldn't translate or they would think the dagger was silly #but they only had good things to say #it was awesome!!!#i hope I get more opportunities to play around and create more dishes #my work #work stuff #pastries #food #baking #idek what my tag will be for when I share more work stuff lol

#supernatural #spn #supernaturaledit #spnedit #spndaily #supernaturaldaily #tvedit #my edits #deanedit #deanwinchesteredit #dean winchester #spn season 10 #this show is so good at portraying PTSD. if only they were allowed to call it that #s10 dean dealing with the mark is such a uniquely fantastic bit of writing it's a shame s15 also exists #no joke between the purgatory flashbacks in s8 and the continued unfolding of dean's bloodlust arc I think they finally understood dean #not to mention this is the first time anyone's really had to deal with trauma aside from cop-outs and shortcuts #ofc dean remembered hell the first time and had some flashbacks but those were limited to a few episodes and some torturing #it's in s10 when dean wants to torture and kill and hurt that you realize he learned how to do that in hell #s8-10 masterful dean arcs. the layering of the trauma like a fine tiramisu or perhaps a nice pastry #oh the reason this is images is not because of artistic choices (that was only later I like this better actually) the gifs were stupid #by that I mean a 20-frame gif with not many colors was refusing to compress into anything less than 10mb. so stupid

Me when I was 18: omg imagine having a caffiene dependency and having withdrawal symptoms if you don't consume every day. I could never. It's gross how normalized addiction is in this country.

Me at age 22: Texting my friends "sorry for what I said to you before I had my coffee that morning"

#I get it now. You can buy 100 servings for less than 5 bucks. It pairs well with pastries. It gets me to drink milk; which has calcium #Making instant coffee only takes 2 minutes max. It's a soothing nightly/morning ritual. It's only *mildly* addictive #It can be used as an excuse to drink milkshakes at 7am. It enhances performance at work #Turning bitter coffee into a sweet beverage gives a similar feeling of satisfaction as making a good mixer. But caffiene is safer-#-than alcohol #Fuck energy drinks though. Istg; companies like Monster used Not Suitable For Children as inspiration #People talk about the vaping industry and how it preys on kids. But what do yall think energy drinks are doing with those-#-colorful labels and candy flavors?#If you're not an adult then you don't need to be drinking coffee or energy drinks #And if you are an adult then you still shouldn't be consuming energy drinks. Those things will give you kidney stones

would someone like to explain why i get such catholic guilt over calling out at work when i'm genuinely sick

#i was up till 3 or so with combination panic attack + foodbourne illness symptoms and i literally work with ovens and food #so exhausted+ working with food is not a good combo after having those things #and i called in as early as i could to tell them so they'd have plenty of time to find cover #and at the end of the day it's greggs it's not like i'm holding the fucking nuclear codes here #but i still feel like the worst person in the entire world and i will probably feel that way until i work again on sunday #they're mad at you!!! the pastry merchants are angry at you!!!!
