Here, you think that LAST fantasy was weird? Try this shit on for size. Imagine a ~* VillainCon *~, where supervillains expo their latest advancements in EVIL, including torture devices. Imagine a cute little sidekick getting kidnapped and used to demonstrate some kinda tentacle beast engineered specifically for rape, screaming as their costume gets ripped off and the thing fucks them in every hole. Imagine a famously badass heroine getting mind controlled into a grinning, bimbo housewife on a demo stage, her captor charging the audience for the pleasure of fucking her mouth. Imagine a small group of civilians getting turned into hypersexualized anthro creatures and auctioned off as henchmen/personal sex slaves.

The Renaissance Center doesn't invite VillainCon back for the next year and most of the presenters got their ASSES KICKED afterwards BUT by god did the convention itself turn a profit!

Wow! how did you learn to animate?? What program do you use? I’m trying to learn how to animate cleaner and your work is really amazing!

I started animating in paint and windows movie maker when I was a kid. Then flipnote studio, then sai and windows movie maker again. Then I went to study animation in college and got taught how to use Toon Boom Harmony and I’ve been using it ever since. (Almost 4 years now I think)

I still come back to movie maker to edit sometimes (the GET DOWN video for example)

god it's so disappointing. i genuinely loved the mcu movies and all of that back in their heyday - captain america until... hmmm, antman? maybe? i was a big fan. yeah there were some clunkers in there, but overall they felt fun and i liked the characters.

and then they just ran it into the fucking ground. i feel like them introducing spiderman was the real turning point for me (tom holland is a great peter parker, i just don't like how they've written him/what they've done with the character and that's not his fault. why is he a tiny tony stark why did they do that put him back in his natural habitat of broke normal teen). i'm all for different interpretations of characters, but it felt like that was the point where i realized "oh, they don't care, do they". and then it was a long slide from there, with the final straw being goddamn Endgame (fuck that movie, it's so bad, i'm still angry about it).

the most frustrating thing is how avoidable the slide was. they got too greedy, reached to fast, were more worried about setting up their next movie than making the movie you're currently watching good. on top of that, their insane rate of release and how unplanned all their shit is exasperates how shit they treat their animators, plus their ridiculous fear of spoilers so they treat their actors like shit. if your movie is going to fall apart because of One Single Spoiler, maybe write a better movie???? just a suggestion

it's absolutely insane. marvel really should have been the cashcow that kept on giving forever, but they milked it too hard and still haven't stopped and we're all begging them to either give the cow a break or shoot the damn cow and put it out of its misery, but here we are getting a new marvel movie every month and people are still going to them and making them shitloads of money. it's exhausting

i'm willing to watch bad movies, i don't mind bad movies (Venom, my fucking beloved), but i'm not going to enjoy bad movies that don't have any passion to them and actively make people's lives worse. if you're exploiting people to this degree and you're still turning out shit, what's the fucking point

:] I'll see what I can do! I might not have time to update my refs but to be fair my characters themselves haven't actually changed in design for a long time now -_-; graduating and university has been taking up all my time for a while now.

If I have the time, I will. I need to try to actually get a job in my field of study as soon as possible. Jobs in animation are scarce and competitive :') so I imagine I'm going to be intensely involved in my portfolio over the summer.

things i am thinking about... the way turlough talks to ileana both out of Jealousy and, i fear, bc he actually believes that the doctor might leave someone (him) behind if they make the wrong choice. how long have they been travelling together in planet of fire when he sabotages the tardis to stop the trion ship signaling & then blatantly lies to the doctor’s face about it? because he still can’t say anything abt his past? boy he FORGAVE you for the black guardian thing. he keeps choosing you even though he knows you’re a coward & a liar & a sneak. what are you still so ashamed of?? why are you running??? AND THEN! when he is forced to tell the doctor a very limited (& possibly sanitized?) summary of his past, he leaves even though he doesn’t want to go. do you think he’s preempting the doctor???? leaving so the doctor won’t tell him to? god. i know i’m way extrapolating here but it would explain why it literally looks like he’s walking off to the gallows even though he says the words ‘my exile has been rescinded’
