OK, fair warning to the few people I actually managed to convince to try the game??

Rain world does NOT play like hollow knight, and you'll get your butt kicked if you approach it like that.

It's really hard. Like, really hard. Instead of the game literally giving you abilities in the form of power-ups and damage buffs, the only abilities you gain is from what you learn and your own ingenuity. You're a rat from beginning to end. If you just beef your way through it, it's gonna suck and you're gonna be confused and frustrated all the time. But if you pay attention, take it slow, and learn how the ai works and how everything interacts with each other, you can consistently get through and dominate situations you thought were impossible to do so when you first began. Now get out there, kill some lizards, and bully some old computers!

Pearl's new ep has me like 🥺

In addition to just being so impressed & delighted by Wordle, it's incredibly heartwarming to see the amount of inspiration that cycles through the Hermits

The aspect ratio change during her montage feels very inspired by Bdubs. Calling it a montage like a tongue-in-cheek callback to Mumbo's last ep, where he insisted that despite technically being a montage, he'll always call what he does timelapses. Tango coming and helping add extra musical feedback to the game, an aspect of minigame design that Etho really focused on a few seasons ago. She plans on adding custom Cub fireworks to celebrate wins.

To be clear this is entirely Pearl's achievement, this isn't meant to give other people credit for 8+ hours of work and design. It has just really reminded me that Joe Hills' description of the Hermits as an artists' collective is Extremely Accurate. I'm eternally delighted to see the echoes of artistic inspiration every Hermit takes & gives back to the server

I understand WHY it's not possible in base game for Jas to move onto the farm with you, but it's also super frustrating and part of why Shane's arc kinda feels strange to me once you marry him. It's the one thing I hate. I can deal with the cursed corn chip dialogue, or the one ab the new species of mushrooms growing in his room. But the way that Jas just doesn't come with you REALLY bothers me.

It almost makes me wish CA didn't add him as an option on the poll for marriage honestly? Or that he just waited and made more changes to the friendship system first before adding his marriage route. Like there technically ARE ways to make Jas live on ur farm, the person that made the Adopt Leo mod figured it out, but bc of the way the game is programmed I don't see this ever happening in vanilla SDV. As a person programming my own first game, I understand that not everything you want to do will be possible on your first venture, but it's still just SO disappointing. Jas is such an important character in his story and the way she just gets left with Marnie breaks my heart. Shane is the LAST connection she has to her parents, she should be able to be considered one of your children if you marry Shane.

when I woke up, uhm - Two Time was still asleep, so I decided to explore. apparently we woke up inside some sort of apartment...? and in the front office there was Robux. there's not that much around here, just alot of construction signs...

south of the apartment there's a beach, and a store, it looks like some sort of supermarket. there was something in the store, but... uh..

... I don't know if I would consider that a person?? there was a bunch of food, way more than the cabin in purgatory has access to! and the. wood,,, thing, didn't stop me so I brought as much as I could carry back to my room.

if only Two Time didn't sleep in so late.. it's kind of boring waiting for them. I haven't found anyone else, so at least there's no killers..?

Aro culture is wanting to scream at your friend to just dump their hateful racist asshole boyfriend, while at the same time knowing that they won't listen to you because they are in love and apparently, that erases their ability for critical thinking

A "hateful racist asshole boyfriend" sounds ripe for a situation in which your friend could be dating someone actively grooming them for domestic abuse.

In those cases, individuals often already have poor boundary control, and it's not the critical thinking actually missing: it's the security that creating boundaries doesn't mean losing someone who they feel cares about them. Judgements on their ability to "think clearly" are both misplaced and encouraged by the abusers, as worsening self esteem leads to an abuse victim seeking comfort... often from the abuser.

I think it's very, very important to recognize that the best thing you can do for them is to be there, continually reaffirm that they can always tell you anything, and rather than pressure them to break up... ask them to tell you about the relationship. You can guide them to red flags, but also try to present possible communication elements. There are guides online by great resources talking about how to best support these conversations.

And, of course, it's always possible it is simply that your friend actually is racist and they put up with the behavior because of that. It's not hard for some bigots to find an in through less overt bigotry. But I strongly encourage folks to realize that "in love with no capacity for critical thought" is a very dangerous warning sign that someone may be unable to recognize healthy boundaries, and worse - to recognize unhealthy boundaries.
