Imagine you are Will Graham. Like. You spend years of your life trying to keep yourself out of murderers minds and running from this dark cloud that’s always been inside you and then one day you get asked to help on a murder case and (stupidly) you accept. Then your boss ALSO brings in this Hot Gay European Man who speaks exclusively in niche riddles and is like “hey he’s your therapist now” and you’re like “okay” and then Hot Gay European Man babytraps you with a teenage girl, refuses to tell you youre sick and oh. he also happens to be a prolific serial killer that you unconsciously come to admire to the point of obsession who goes out of his way to systematically destroy your life before you realize that it was all because Hot Gay European Man was in love with you the whole time

I absolutely love the “who’s crazier” Hannibal poll in which Will is winning by a landslide. I think Hannibal’s craziness is innate, it’s not just a part of who he is, it is the whole of what he is. And though he can mask it and control its output by killing in extremely careful, intricate, and methodical ways— he can’t repress it. He can’t help himself. Will is crazier because he can help it, he can repress it, and if he had never met Hannibal he probably would have lived out a semi-normal life and never succumbed to his own inner evils. But because Hannibal tripped the sleeper switch in him, and “set his brain on fire”—— he begins his descent, at first unwillingly, then still unwillingly but unflinchingly, with open eyes and clear cognition, and then slowly it BECOMES a choice. He surrenders to it the way you surrender to falling in love and he takes pleasure in it. Hannibal can’t help being crazy, but Will goes straight into the crazy with him, albeit with a little push, by choice. We will never ever ever see another fictional character like Will Graham he is truly one of a kind

We deserve a season 4 of Hannibal. We deserve to see them post-fall. We deserve to see them running around together avoiding Jack. We deserve to see them give each other a knowing look when someone is rude. We deserve to see them kill together. We deserve to see them cooking together in whatever kitchen in whatever house they find. We deserve to see Hannibal tenderly teach Will how to fancifully prepare a meal. We deserve to see slutty Will and sassy Hannibal. We deserve to see them give a maybe, maybe just a chaste subtle kiss on the cheeks. We deserve season 4. Pleassseeeee

"what do we do with this loser darling"

“Because any reservations I have about Abigail Hobbs don’t extend to Hannibal” is an amazing, amazing piece of visual and focal foreshadowing. The way we can, very briefly, see the moment the sensation of doubt towards Hannibal is placed into Jack’s mind, even subconsciously.

Even more so by the fact that the words have a double meaning. Alana is saying she explicitly trusts Hannibal but Jack hear the underlying implication of “any reservations towards Abigail’s innocence do NOT extend to Hannibal”. This isn’t the first time doubt is foretold, but it is easily the most notable example of it because it’s one of the few times Jack lets down his own reservations about Hannibal in connection to the capacity to kill or assist in killing (especially since this is so ‘fresh’ after Tobias Budge is killed).

it's interesting how in Fromage Hannibal sends Will to Tobias right after Will told him that he kissed Alana. He'd been probably wanting to "test" Will for a while, get him to kill again, but here you clearly see him hesitating (which he rarely does) to share this information and still choosing this moment to tell him. Could it be that he felt jealous and annoyed at Will, betrayed in a way that made him want to hurt him back? Or did this pinch of jealousy awaken emotions in him that scared him, so much so that he tried to bury them? Did he want to prove a point to himself - that whatever he felt for Will didn't matter, but his experiences on him did, and so he wouldn't care risking to send him to his death?

We all know what happens next: Will survives, and Hannibal looks utterly releaved, admitting to Will wih big, watery eyes that he was worried he were dead.

Sure, Hannibal kinda had a love at first sight moment from the very first episode of season 1, but I feel like Fromage really is the episode where Hannibal realized the true extent of his affection for Will.
