HSR: TJ’s Character Build Archive - Navigation
Hey y’all!
I’ve decided to post all my character builds for anyone who might find that kind of thing interesting or potentially helpful. While I’ve got a decent amount of HSR build knowledge under my belt, you should take everything you see with a grain of salt; I’m not a guide maker and I won’t pretend to be, but I’ll do my best to include my thought process/rationale for the builds that I’ve chosen to use.
If you have any questions about any of my builds or builds in general, don’t be afraid to drop them in my ask box! I might not personally be able to give you the most comprehensive answer about meta or statistical data, but I’m willing to look into it if you’re in need of genuine assistance.
Tumblr media
I'll be updating the linked path posts any time a new character or relic set has been announced. Updates will also be made whenever large upgrades have been made on my character's builds.
Changelogs are now in the pipeline (yipee!) Links for the logs will be added to the path posts as they are released; they are listed alongside the "last upgraded" notice at the end of each character's sub-section. You can also find the logs by using #character build changelog, or by text searching "changelog - [character]" on my blog.

TJ will come back to this section later because nihility is complicated, and I'll need to reread everyone's kits in depth to be accurate here.

Yeah, that was more detailed than I was originally planning to be. The yapping demons took over again, apparently. Navigation with a little side of education for your learning pleasure. Content disclaimers and credits under the cut. Thanks for stopping by!

Important things to note:
All my build showcases have been generated through Fribbels Honkai Star Rail Optimizer.
Fribbels automatically displays your characters at level 80 character and light cone experience so that you can preemptively evaluate their build at its maximum potential.
Fribbels relic scoring weight can be manipulated to meet your personal wants (this is especially useful for making non-damage dealers into true damage dealing characters) and those relics are notated with an Asterix (*). Most of my build showcases have been generated with the default weighting intact; any deviations will be notated accordingly.
Following the above point, some of my characters may have multiple different builds: e.g., crit vs traditional Sampo, break vs traditional Guinaifen, 4pc purity palace + keel vs 4pc pioneer + salsotto Aventurine, etc. Each build will be properly titled, and their functionality/niche will be emphasized for clarity’s sake.
If you're interested in generating your own build showcases but you’d prefer to see characters with their current in-game statistics, Enka.Network is an excellent platform to do so. Enka does not currently have a relic scoring feature so you will not be able to see the value of your pieces through their generated showcases. They do, however, have roll quality stat breakdowns that can be toggled on/off.
The quotes listed underneath the Path and Character headers are tidbits sourced from the game's plethora of loading screens. I pulled the text from Fandom's Honkai: Star Rail Wiki page on loading screens and characters respectively.
All the path overviews and kit summaries were written in my own words; however, I did use Prydwen's HSR Character's List to look over the kits of characters that I don't own, so here's their honorable mention.

What have been your favorite books from the years you've been posting your monthly reads? You read so much, and I'm always curious about what stood out to you.
Oh goodness I’ve read a lot of books each year, I’ll just speak on the ones that were new to me that have really stuck with me this year:
The Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa was one of those reads that went by quickly but the concepts stay in your mind for a long time.
The Halfling Saga (A Broken Blade) by Melissa Blair was everything I love from other fantasy books but from a queer, Indigenous perspective which made it even better. A series I’d recommend to any fantasy reader, each book is better than the last.
As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow by Zoulfa Katouh was just as good as I had heard, such an important read and had a plot twist I didn’t catch which is rare for me.
Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins added so much to the other stories and she only writes when more commentary is needed—which it was. I know many claimed it was fan service but that wasn’t my experience at all.
Both the Shades of Magic trilogy (A Darker Shade of Magic) by V.E. Schwab and The Poppy War trilogy by R.F. Kuang were series I’d read the first book of and then never finished the rest and this year I did, and I’m glad I stuck with them this time and also glad I didn’t force it years ago when they didn’t capture my interest.
I just finished the Burning Kingdoms trilogy (The Jasmine Throne) by Tasha Suri and very much enjoyed the worldbuilding and the conflict of different religions showing characters from both sides. Struggled with how often chapters jumped to random characters that were only featured in that chapter and never/rarely mentioned again—it would likely make way more sense during a re-read.
I also just finished The War of Lost Hearts trilogy (Daughter of No Worlds) trilogy by Carissa Broadbent and need more time to reflect on it but did enjoy it even if the plot twists were very predictable.
Honorable mentions:
The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong was a nice cozy fantasy, loved the concepts and the fact that it touched on racism in a fantasy setting but felt the characters lacked depth.
Void by Mandana Boroojeni is a really interesting short indie book covering survival in an inhospitable realm.
Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yamboa was an adventure through fantasy dream realms, each chapter felt like a whole new world.
A Gentleman’s Gentleman by TJ Alexander is perfect for anyone who loves historical romance, featuring a trans main character navigating life as a gentleman.
The Women by Kristin Hannah did a great job tackling the nuances of those involved in the Vietnam war from the perspective of a combat nurse.

Books With Queer Romance Reviews
Hello, welcome to the second addition of Muse and Reviews, this time over YA Queer Romance novels. Now these books will mostly be YA Romance, but there will also be books with romance as a side plot
1. Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas
Yadriel has summoned a ghost, and now he can’t get rid of him. When his traditional Latinx family has problems accepting his gender, Yadriel becomes determined to prove himself a real brujo. With the help of his cousin and best friend Maritza, he performs the ritual himself, and then sets out to find the ghost of his murdered cousin and set it free. However, the ghost he summons is actually Julian Diaz, the school’s resident bad boy, and Julian is not about to go quietly into death. He’s determined to find out what happened and tie up some loose ends before he leaves. Left with no choice, Yadriel agrees to help Julian, so that they can both get what they want. But the longer Yadriel spends with Julian, the less he wants to let him leave.
I adore this book, I adore Yadriel, I adore Julian, I adore Yadriel’s cousin Maritza, I just love this book. This book actually made history by being the first New York Times Bestseller List by an openly trans author with a trans character. Even though I am not Latinx, I related to Yadriel in such a deep way because of my own experiences with being trans in a fairly conservative family. I love the relationship between Yadriel and Julian and I personally envy the relationship between Yadriel and Maritza. When it comes to the urban fantasy aspect, I think it blends very well with the world. This book also talks about Latinx gods and goddess, mainly Santa Muerte, and Mexican traditions.
I think this book is a good introduction to YA romance since it’s not mainly just a romance.
2. Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender
Felix Love has never been in love—and, yes, he’s painfully aware of the irony. He desperately wants to know what it’s like and why it seems so easy for everyone but him to find someone. What’s worse is that, even though he is proud of his identity, Felix also secretly fears that he’s one marginalization too many—Black, queer, and transgender—to ever get his own happily-ever-after. When an anonymous student begins sending him transphobic messages—after publicly posting Felix’s deadname alongside images of him before he transitioned—Felix comes up with a plan for revenge. What he didn’t count on: his catfish scenario landing him in a quasi–love triangle.... But as he navigates his complicated feelings, Felix begins a journey of questioning and self-discovery that helps redefine his most important relationship: how he feels about himself.
This is another book that I really connected with due to the fact the main character is trans, and also that he's an artist that has been struggling with feeling like he is too complicated to love. This book focuses on self love, gender identity, racial identity, and social pressures. It has been awhile since Ive read this book but I do remember very much enjoying it, especially since Felix is not a completely perfect character
3. The Extraordinaries by TJ Clune
Some people are extraordinary. Some are just extra. New York Times bestselling author TJ Klune's YA debut, The Extraordinaries, is a queer coming-of-age story about a fanboy with ADHD and the heroes he loves. Nick Bell? Not extraordinary. But being the most popular fanfiction writer in the Extraordinaries fandom is a superpower, right? After a chance encounter with Shadow Star, Nova City’s mightiest hero (and Nick’s biggest crush), Nick sets out to make himself extraordinary. And he’ll do it with or without the reluctant help of Seth Gray, Nick's best friend (and maybe the love of his life).
I was recommended this book by my high school librarian about two years ago and it was a fun and fairly light hearted read (at least compared to what I usually read) Nick truly imbodies the super fan inside all of us. I mean who wouldn't write fanfic about actual superheroes? I love Nick, I love Seth, and the book does a wonderful job at showing Nick's ADHD. This book was absolutely adorable 5/5 stars
4. They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera
On September 5, a little after midnight, Death-Cast calls Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio to give them some bad news: They’re going to die today. Mateo and Rufus are total strangers, but, for different reasons, they’re both looking to make a new friend on their End Day. The good news: There’s an app for that. It’s called the Last Friend, and through it, Rufus and Mateo are about to meet up for one last great adventure—to live a lifetime in a single day. Adam Silvera reminds us that there’s no life without death and no love without loss in this devastating yet uplifting story about two people whose lives change over the course of one unforgettable day.
Of course I had to talk about They Both Die at the End. God damn you Adam Silvera, I love this book and hate it at the same time. It's amazing but horrifically sad. Obviously the ending is spoiled in the title but god does this book give you a sliver of hope. Thoughts and prayer (in a nonchristian way) to anyone who reads this book, bring your tissues!
5. Godly Heathens by H.E. Edgemond
Infatuation. Reincarnation. Damnation. Gem Echols is a nonbinary Seminole teen living in the tiny town of Gracie, Georgia. Known for being their peers' queer awakening, Gem leans hard on charm to disguise the anxious mess they are beneath. The only person privy to their authentic self is another trans kid, Enzo, who's a thousand long, painful miles away in Brooklyn. But even Enzo doesn't know about Gem's dreams, haunting visions of magic and violence that have always felt too real. So how the hell does Willa Mae Hardy? The strange new girl in town acts like she and Gem are old companions, and seems to know things about them they've never told anyone else. When Gem is attacked by a stranger claiming to be the Goddess of Death, Willa Mae saves their life and finally offers some answers. She and Gem are reincarnated gods who've known and loved each other across lifetimes. But Gem—or at least who Gem used to be— hasn't always been the most benevolent deity. They've made a lot of enemies in the pantheon—enemies who, like the Goddess of Death, will keep coming. It's a good thing they've still got Enzo. But as worlds collide and the past catches up with the present, Gem will discover that everyone has something to hide.
I just finished my second read through of this book and god do I love this book with my whole heart and soul. Complicated main characters, interesting romance, old gods, and queer people in small towns, what more could you need. If this book had zero fans I’d be dead. If this book at one fan it’s ME. It’s a why choose romance with a fight between fate and creating your own life. I want to do a whole deep dive into this book and doing an in depth analysis. This book is not for the faint of heart or only wants perfect main characters. No one in this story is perfect, especially Gem, Willa Mae, and Enzo. (And anyone who says Willa Mae is perfect hasn’t ACTUALLY read the book and I will die on this hill)

disclaimer: i’ve edited none of these pics beyond removing the gettyimages (or other stock site) watermark , and i don’t own them obviously. they’re as the photographers edited/posted them, and i’ve copied and pasted the legitimate captions from the site entries as a way to provide the context and allow you to go back and find the source image if you’re interested. i’ve also weeded out some pics that felt redundant or lower quality, but other than that, the entire 1.1k+ photos tagged with mitch marner and auston matthews from getty are posted on this blog, as well as a couple hundred from other sites like usa today and the canadian press. i will try to continue to update this as seasons go on as well. the tagging system is listed below! enjoy!!
first and foremost: for randomized fun, click this or the ‘random’ link in the bio to get your 1634 pic of the day
tagging system:
if you’re looking for a specific date, the posts are tagged as ‘mm.dd.yy’ (i.e. april 10, 2021 is tagged as ‘04.10.21’) (yes, the american way, it’s habit)
if you’re looking for a specific leafs player that isn’t auston or mitch, they’re tagged by just their last names (i.e. william nylander is tagged as ‘nylander’).
if you’re looking for a specific opponent, they’re tagged by just team name, not location (i.e. pittsburgh penguins are just tagged as ‘penguins’).
pro tip: if you’re wanting to search multiple tags on mobile or on the desktop blog, just put a comma between them in the search bar (i.e. if you want photos of 1634 with morgan rielly from the year 2019, search ‘rielly, 2019′)

if there are any other specifics someone would like tagged, feel free to shoot me a message on this blog or my main. i’ll be revisiting and tweaking this blog lots in the future (potentially making it more than just a picture archive but we’ll see), and i’m not opposed to retagging for certain things that would be helpful to all the web-weavers and narrative tellers out there.
hope a single other soul gets some use out of this! ❣️❣️❣️

sorry for being annoying, I've read your entire pinned post but it's difficult for me to get to actually read the rest of your page because of the length of it and my laggy phone, sorry, and not saying you need to cater to me because of this, I wish the post was like how is kinda was before with the 'keep reading' button to expand it. -autistic anon
(( You're not being annoying don't worry. If you're talking about some of the buttons not working in the card that is because some of them aren't set up yet as I'm still working on a more indepth file for TJ, Sarah and the rest. I'm probably going to be messing with it a lot as I get more ideas and figure out how best to organize it so right now it is a lot of trial and error and I'm sorry about that. I will probably be messing around with it some. The main reason why I added the card was made and replaced was because of how long the introductory post used to be I wanted to replace it with something where you could read more if you wanted to but woukd have a short version of basic info. I'll try to mess around with it some more when I have the time and make it easier to read and navigate.))

Back To The Future
The last two things I did in Oklahoma City this weekend was grocery shopping? Two? How’s that, DrG?
Simple. After I had a delicious lunch at Flower Child, I ventured across the street to Trader Joe’s, and then back down the street to Whole Foods. The two stores, both of which carry a slew of organic foods and target upper-income customers, could not be more different from one another.
I spent a fair amount of money at both, buying the things I cannot find in Amarillo. But it was at Trader Joe’s that I spent the most money. It’s the store with less—far less, to the tune of only about 4000 SKUs—and a vibe that screams 1970s. In contrast, Whole Foods is high tech, with both F2F and self-check, as well as the ability to wave my palm to pay.
Tumblr media
Yeah, I know. We’ve discussed some of this before. It’s just that Trader Joe’s just dropped a podcast episode in which they unashamedly affirmed their opposition to all things tech—aside from bar code readers at the checkout stand—in return for a very social, old-school shopping experience.
It is hard to imagine any supermarket, especially in the post-COVID era, that does not have online ordering, curbside pickup delivery, self-check, and in-store media, but that’s Trader Joe’s. They don’t want them. They want shoppers to engage with employees. In fact, on a recent episode of the Freakonomics podcast, the host interviewed someone who found employment at a TJ’s. He told the story of how all job candidates were herded into a room, only to find the leader stirring discussion. The company, it turns out, was looking for extroverts, and they wanted to see how the candidates would perform in a room full of strangers.
TJ’s even eschews much of the social media landscape. It has some token accounts, with the majority of its efforts going into Instagram and YouTube. Their podcast is massively popular, especially among loyal shoppers. And their printed newsletter—the Fearless Flyer—is a fan favorite at a time when hardly anyone ever reads a newspaper.
It was a madhouse at TJ’s. Sure, it was Sunday noon, and there was a combination of heathens (I use the word jokingly) and after-churchers pawing over fresh fruits and veggies, frozen and canned items, beer and wine. The carts are smaller than what you find everywhere else, and the modest physical footprint of the store meant there were traffic jams in every aisle, not to mention long lines to get out.
There was a buzz in the air. You just knew this was the highlight of many peoples’ week. Oh, and flowers anyone? That’s got to be one of the highest margin items in the store, because you can’t even go 10 feet inside before tripping over them.
In contrast, Whole Foods was moderately crowded but decidedly more sedate and cerebral. I didn’t have to navigate through mazes of people and carts other than once. The aisles are wider. Shoppers have the choice between a traditional large cart, or a tiny one. There are many thousands more items than at TJ’s. And, as per usual, I just waved my palm over the scanner, scarcely a word of interaction with my checker. At TJ’s, though, my checker engaged me in conversation as if we were old pals.
Trader Joe’s is not interested in customer data. They only analyze what flies off the shelf, or languishes there. Whole Foods, owned by Amazon, knows every last thing I have purchased, at which store, and how much I spent. One store is in the 1970s, when bar code readers were just becoming popular. The other is firmly rooted in the here and now, with an eye toward tomorrow.
And both are doing well. It’s just that TJ’s is doing better, with an industry-leading $2100 sales per square foot. In comparison, Walmart, the nation’s leading grocer, only averages about $400 per square foot, while While Foods comes in at $1000.
The nostalgic in me kind of likes the throwback experience of TJ’s. They don’t have everything I want or need; hence, my visit to Whole Foods. But they always get the lion’s share of my out-of-market grocery shopping. It just resonates, and while I am adamant about using self-check at Walmart, I would never think of using one at TJ’s. I will never have to worry about that, though, because they will never install any.
What a contrast! Give a listen to that TJ’s pod, as well as the one from Freakonomics. There’s a lecture or two in there that is best given by those closer to the source. Just remember that there can be a future in the past. In Oklahoma City. Dallas. Albuquerque. Or wherever you do like I do, my cooler and reusable shopping bags always packed and ready for the task.

New 66-foot-wide antenna dishes will be built, online, and operational in time to provide near-continuous communications services to Artemis astronauts at the Moon later this decade.
Called LEGS, short for Lunar Exploration Ground Sites, the antennas represent critical infrastructure for NASA’s vision of supporting a sustained human presence at the Moon.
The first three of six proposed LEGS are planned for sites in New Mexico, South Africa, and Australia.
LEGS will become part of NASA’s Near Space Network, managed by the agency’s Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) program and led out of Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.
NASA’s LEGS can do more than help Earthlings move about the planet.
Three Lunar Exploration Ground Sites, or LEGS, will enhance the Near Space Network’s communications services and support of NASA’s Artemis campaign.
NASA’s Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) program maintains the agency’s two primary communications networks — the Deep Space Network and the Near Space Network, which enable satellites in space to send data back to Earth for investigation and discovery.
Using antennas around the globe, these networks capture signals from satellites, collecting data and enabling navigation engineers to track the mission. For the first Artemis mission, these networks worked in tandem to support the mission as it completed its 25-day journey around the Moon. They will do the same for the upcoming Artemis II mission.
To support NASA’s Moon to Mars initiative, NASA is adding three new LEGS antennas to the Near Space Network. As NASA works toward sustaining a human presence on the Moon, communications and navigation support will be crucial to each mission’s success. The LEGS antennas will directly support the later Artemis missions, and accompanying missions like the human landing system, lunar terrain vehicle, and Gateway.
“One of the main goals of LEGS is to offload the Deep Space Network,” said TJ Crooks, LEGS project manager at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. “The Near Space Network and its new LEGS antennas will focus on lunar missions while allowing the Deep Space Network to support missions farther out into the solar system — like the James Webb Space Telescope and the interstellar Voyager missions.”
The Near Space Network provides communications and navigation services to missions anywhere from near Earth to 1.2 million miles away — this includes the Moon and Sun-Earth Lagrange points 1 and 2. The Moon and Lagrange points are a shared region with the Deep Space Network, which can provide services to missions there and farther out in the solar system.
The LEGS antennas, which are 66 feet in diameter, will be strategically placed across the globe. This global placement ensures that when the Moon is setting at one station, it is rising into another’s view. With the Moon constantly in sight, the Near Space Network will be able to provide continuous support for lunar operations.
As a satellite orbits the Moon, it encodes its data onto a radio frequency signal. When a LEGS antenna comes into view, that satellite (or rover, etc.) will downlink the signal to a LEGS antenna. This data is then routed to mission operators and scientists around the globe who can make decisions about spacecraft health and orbit or use the science data to make discoveries.
The LEGS antennas are intended to be extremely flexible for users. For LEGS-1, LEGS-2, and LEGS-3, NASA is implementing a “dual-band approach” for the antennas that will allow missions to communicate using two different radio frequency bands — X-band and Ka-band. Typically, smaller data packets — like telemetry data — are sent over X-band, while high-resolution science data or imagery needs Ka-band. Due to its higher frequency, Ka-band allows significantly more information to be downlinked at once, such as real-time high-resolution video in support of crewed operations.
Further LEGS capacity will be sought from commercial service providers and will include a “tri-band approach” for the antennas using S-band in addition to X- and Ka-band.
The first LEGS ground station, or LEGS-1, is at NASA’s White Sands Complex in Las Cruces, New Mexico. NASA is improving land and facilities at the complex to receive the new LEGS-1 antenna.
The LEGS-2 antenna will be in Matjiesfontein, South Africa, located near Cape Town. In partnership with SANSA, the South African National Space Agency, NASA chose this location to maximize coverage to the Moon. South Africa was home to a ground tracking station outside Johannesburg that played a role in NASA’s Apollo missions to the Moon in the 1960s. The agency plans to complete the LEGS-2 antenna in 2026. For LEGS-3, NASA is exploring locations in Western Australia.
These stations will fully complement the existing capabilities of the Near and Deep Space Networks and allow for more robust communications services to the Artemis campaign.
The Near Space Network is funded by NASA’s Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) program office at NASA Headquarters in Washington and operated out of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

I adore Grogu and Din's bond, but I thought they wrapped up the story of him finding the Jedi and reuniting them with Grogu well. I know a lot of people were upset about it but I just hate that I didn't care as much as they did? I know I'll enjoy Din and Grogu's dynamic again but I was okay with moving on from it. Do you think their bond is important to the success and core of the show?
This is hard to answer because I don't think that the show has really been given the chance to establish what its identity is outside of Grogu and Din's connection. Their story has been the key feature of the series since the first episode and I'm not entirely clear on what a show that isn't about this would look like.
Part of the reason why I genuinely liked "The Return of the Mandalorian" in The Book of Boba Fett (despite it completely abandoning its title character) is that it seemed to establish something of a new status quo for Din. He basically gave up his whole life and culture to protect this child and on the other side he's at a loss for what to do. And it certainly doesn't help matters that he now owns a weapon that's an ancestral indicator of power and rightful rule. So it was it was fun to see him attempt to make sense of this and try to establish what a life post-Grogu could be. And frankly, I would have been completely down for watching Din attempt to navigate the complicated world of Mandalorian politics with other factions also jockeying for control. That may still be what we get, but it's not a story that naturally lends itself to the inclusion of Grogu who honestly just feels like he's going to be floating around being Din's cute little sidekick. Which is a bummer because the quiet tension between the two was always part of what made their relationship the core of the series. The strongest arc of the first season is seeing Din decide that Grogu is something that is worth him abandoning his culture for and the best arc of the second season is him coming to terms that he must let Grogu go. I'm not sure what the thrust or challenge to their relationship is now that Grogu just seems to be around for the long run.
And maybe I'm being cynical, but part of me wonders if Grogu's return is a corporate mandate. It's no secret to literally anyone that's walked through a Target or TJ Maxx in the last three years that Grogu is an absolute merchandising titan and not having him be a regular on a Star Wars show likely isn't something that Disney corporate would be comfortable with.
But, maybe I'm wrong. I've been wrong before and while I've been routinely let down by the Favroni side of Star Wars, they do occasionally get things right. So we shall see.
