ok whats yalls take on cecilia? obv something with interdimensions, but assumingly not replacing a double bcus she says 'its not quite the same/useful'. she has a kid, we dont know if its biological or adopted, just that a father is out of the picture. for some reason, she visited oxford, the same place of the statement and where jon and georgie went to college, and was reluctant to share it with sam whom shes relatively close to.

the actual institute doesnt exist nymore, but from what i ynderstand the 'outreach' centers or whatever arent the same, so they could very well still exist. this doesnt even get into the opening lines of the statement about a status as a catalyst, tho cecilia didn't seem interested in that aspect, purely the clone thing. the fears seemingly work a bit differently in tmp, at least for now, so the eyepocalypse ritual may not be the same (tho thats what 'catalyst' reminded me of, and 'agent' reminds me of avatar), but im willing to bet its the same overall concept of bringing them all in.

patient implies ppl seeking help, specifically for something supernatural in regards to the institute. yet theres obv something behind the scenes bcus the whole status thing denotes smnth, we just dont know what, or how ppl r evaluated. personally, i think that gerry will come back into play, similar to tma introducing key players early on and expanding later, especially in regards to what those statuses mean. we have another mention of a jmj error, specifically to alice after she witnessed a statement giver irl. i cant think of nyothers who have actlly gotten a jmj in the podcast that we have explicitly seen. colin is still NA tho cecilia is saying shes seen him around, so hes either sneaking in or shes lying for some reason.

we also dont have nything on the bonzo front, which is a bit worrying considering that gwen 'already knows' whose name was in the envelope. we thought maybe alice, but idk bcus shes been alone w/o defense like at the bar where bonzo couldve gotten her. so its either someone gwen knows that we havent met yet or another basement dweller. i dont think its cecilia given that we still dont know much about her and she seems very plot relevant. idk man

I'm so oblivious, I thought The Magnus Protocol episode 17, "Saved Copy," was like a Dorian Gray thing. I thought Rich!Darrien was somehow making human copies of himself to take on all his miseries and pains, a la the painting in the novel, and he was going to show Narrator!Darrien how to do it and have him make a copy...

I just glossed over Narrator!Darrien slipping into another universe, I was like, "He just blacked out and forces took him something something hospital."

I was waaaaaaay off lol. So far off I didn't even notice the significant cameos!!! (Though I did think, bet these guys come up later...)

As always, thanks to Reddit for this one. Maybe I should get an account there. I bet they'd find this Dorian Gray thing funny.

So of course, I love my healthy dose of what the fuckery. This is one of my favourite episodes so far, I’m obsessed with the idea that this could happen irl.

I love the fact that Darrien had to grapple with the fact that this person was “him.” It wasn’t him, but it was. This man in front of you is acting out an idea you’ve had in the back burner and is now asking you to do the same. In the back of your mind, you’re capable of this level of revenge.

Something happened in therapy gave me Wonderland / MAG 177 vibes which I adore and is one of my favourite Spiral episodes.

Also I saw a post by someone talking about how Martin Norris wasn’t gonna budge and let Alice work unless she and Gwen at least considered talking about their feelings which I also love.

Overall, love the episode.

The new episode is just basically the cask of amontillado, i called it the moment he said there's a reinforced heavy locked soundproof basement. I mean srsly ever since reading the damn thing I've always been wary of being buried alive jesus christ. What makes it even scarier is that the other dude never broke eye contact. "You're what I could've become." "I'm all you could've been" just two identical looking dudes looking at each other as the other fell to his demise. UGH

So anyway! I was going to say, the statement giver in TMAGP 17 reminds me a bit of Tova McHugh from TMA 155, The Cost of Living. That was the Avatar of the End who killed other people to keep living but justified it by how much they donated to charity and such.

Here we go again.

Celia almost gets hit by a train? Apparently again? Was late for a date with Sam I think, he was alright with it, it's okay.

Uhh.. statement(?) wise? One guy has like a brother apparently same name, just richer? And their dad left them both and like his brother keeps their dad in a basement? Darrien(1) accidentally(?) kills(?) Darrien(2) and closes the door, basically just leaving him down there to rot.

Don't remember if Celia said anything after the statement besides like "Christ" or something, which they always do

Alice's computer shuts down, the woman NEEDS to stop eating at her computer, crumbs in her keyboard like there's no tomorrow. Gwen fixes it, miraculously, and.. Colin is mentioned?

Celia told Alice she saw Colin.

Celia's acting all weird. If she actually saw Colin, why? If she didn't, why would she lie to Alice about it?

Why was she in Oxford? Why was it bad? Why is Celia so invested in the institute? Because yes, while she might be Celia from Georgie and Melanie's cult, but I doubt the two told everyone about the institute? Or maybe they did, or maybe Celia just knows. But why? Celia?

Why is Colin on such a long mental leave? It's been like weeks, literally. All he did was attack Sam, was he really that like- unstable?

Also, I looked at the wiki, Darrien(1) accidentally traveled forward(?) in time and I think Darrien(2) is actually just Darrien(1) but neither know because Darrien(1) doesn't know what the hell he did.

Does Darrien(1) have something to do with the Magnus institute? Chester mentioned the Magnus institute at the very beginning, I think it's just a log thing, or like from emails if they get emailed stuff. Last episode, it had videos, I think it might be like emails or maybe the OIAR has its own site?

Also Dyhard is... I feel like it's slowly developing. Gwen is just stubborn.

I don't know, Sam. Why don't you ask Celia, she seems to know a lot about it.
