Mark Hoffman. Let's get this out of the way: I don't care about his actor. I'm talking about the character from the Saw series. Do you know how good it feels for a fat transmasc person like me to see a fat guy be such an important character in a film series, and to see how the fandom reacts to him and his fat tits (with a lot of lust)? He's the best, he's the worst, he's babygirl, he's a slasher character, he's, brutal, he's sensitive, he's dumb as nails, he's dangerously clever, he has a sad backstory, he's vindicated, he has no excuse. He has an obsession with another man that flirts with the homoerotic.

I lust for him, yes, but I also relate to him (take that as you will), and it does me a lot of good to watch that character on the screen and read fanfics about him (and I love him as much in the original material and the fics, which is rare).

A sweet interaction today--an elderly Thai man held the elevator for me when I got off the Skytrain. As we rode down, he asked in English where I was from and if I'd come to Thailand alone, so I replied in Thai that I had moved here with my wife, who is Thai. He assumed I had used the wrong word for spouse and tried to helpfully correct my Thai, so I explained that we are lesbians and his eyes lit up, he shook my hand excitedly and said "Oh!! Oh congratulations!!" 🥹😭💗🏳️‍🌈

Today I love...

Poldark, the books and the BBC adaptation with Aidan Turner. It's such a beautiful, well-written series, with an actually complicated and sometimes toxic main relationship. Here is a marriage that's undoubtdedly right, because they love each other, but it's not easy, it's not always pretty, and they hurt each other, but they're also the ultimate power couple. I'm not a romance fan, but man when it comes to Poldark I am.

Also, I love historical novels. At sea, the best historical series is the Aubrey-Maturin series, and on land it's Poldark.

i dont know who needs to hear this but you do not need to go on a diet. you do not need to lose weight as a new year revolution. you do not need to feel shame for gaining any weight over the holidays and for enjoying yourself and the food. you do not need to tolerate diet talk after setting a boundary and if someone cant respect that then theyre being the asshole. you already have a summer body. you already are hot. theres no moral failure or shame in being fat
