the reason why bejeweled feels very calvin to me still is how it parallels high infidelity. in general, the 3am tracks seem to explore a darker, more explicit side of a storyline that’s already present, if only in the form of subtext (like we don’t have a direct parallel for wcs, but we do have two songs exploring formative past relationships vaguely sexually, and wcs is the darker example), on the main album, and bejeweled/high infidelity is perhaps the best example of this. its similarities to tolerate it, which is about something she felt ‘at one point in her life,’ back this up. HOWEVER, I do think it’s exploring a potential outcome of the then-current state of her relationship with joe. like, this is how things could go - I have forgotten that I have a man in the past, and I can do it again.

Hello. And what is the secret? It seems to me that this is a completely neutral phrase about a nephew/comrade "Laenor was a loyal companion. I loved him well». or will there be more detailed scenes later, for example in episode 7? Do you think daemon really missed laenor, not rhaenyra, and was in love with him? To be honest, I think this ship is completely inappropriate in this show and it's good that it wasn't included, I don't think it was even filmed. I think daemon's bisexuality needed to be demonstrated in the first half of the season, and the affair with laenor really looks ridiculous, as an option they could create a new character of daemon's lover on the steps
i wasn't going to reply to this since i did on twitter, but honestly this reads as insanely homophobic to me.
the scene went like this: laena comes to see daemon and he sees him stroking the hair of a squire. it's described as an intimate scene. (in episode 4, we saw him kiss both a man and a woman in the brothel in a cut scene). then laena, looking at the squire, says, "i miss my brother, as, i think, do you." daemon then replies that laenor was a loyal companion and he loved him well.
if you switched out the squire to a maid, and switched out brother to sister, and laenor was rhaenyra or some other woman, everyone would be screaming that it is romantic. because IT IS.
i never said that laenor and daemon being together threatens daemyra. nothing does to me. it's so clear that the writers like writing daemyra as destined lovers who are both very very similar. laenor doesn't threaten the ship, neither does laena or harwin. it's when people insist the opposite that it's annoying.
they clearly filmed some of daemon's bisexuality, but i think cutting it does the character a disservice. it explains what happens in episode 7, why daemon would go through the lengths he did to ensure that laenor got away safely. it wasn't just for rhaenyra but also for someone he cares about.
calling a relationship inappropriate presumes there's something taboo or bad about it. laenor was an adult at the time, what's wrong with him and daemon having sex? just say you don't like mlm relationships and move on, honestly. because as someone who clearly loves daemyra and someone who ships them primarily, this is not a threat to me at all. good for laenor and good for daemon!

still cackling/crying about having invented an incredibly Autistic-Coded Alien (classic archetype) species in my sci fi LARP but nobody clocks this immediately because two of its most visible traits are
1. friendly and sociable
2. good at, and desirous of, ‘fitting in’/‘belonging’ socioculturally/as part of groups
edit:
3. it is not mechanically or culturally particularly geared towards playing a ‘Nerd archetype’ such as a Scientist; rather its mechanics easily make for a good (somewhat unusual) combat build.

Do you have any Thomastair WIPs? If yes, can you share a snippet? If not, do you have any headcanons about them to share?
Thomas found himself running his hands through Alastair’s hair, warmed by the beating midday sun, and let himself be pulled closer and closer, until there was no closer to go, before finally breaking the kiss.
“You were right,” Thomas pulled back just enough to speak, still so close he could see his own adoring gaze reflected in Alastair’s keen eyes “The limes are good.”
“Yes. Excellent. Just as I said they would be.” Alastair replied very matter of factly, as if they weren't hidden behind a citrus tree, tangled so closely in each others arms you would struggle to tell where each one ends “Kiss me again.”
- Thomastair WIP snippet, @alastairstom
pretty sure I wrote this part at like four am so my bad if its terrible lol

Mondo Grass
Of course, it is not actually a grass.
The thick clumps of evergreen grass-like foliage of mondo grass, Ophiopogon japonicas, make a nice lumpy ground cover for small spaces. Because it is rather tolerant of shade, and actually prefers partial shade to full sun, it works nicely under Japanese maples or highly branched overgrown rhododendrons. It gets only about half a foot deep. Narrow stems…

I was listening to a podcast the other day and they were talking about how goldendoodles are actually the worst family pet if you don't specifically need a hypoallergenic super smart dog because they're half poodle, which are Like That because they're Too Smart For Anyone's Good.
And like I knew goldendoodles were part poodle but I hadn't thought through the implications, and I was immediately struck with the realization, oh my god that's why the neighbors' Murder Dog is the way he is.
