Anthony J. Crowley and Aziraphale Fell are just two typical at-odds doctoral students fighting over a university library study room, when they get caught up in an illicit science plot with mind-controlling formulas brewed by an evil chemistry dean! There are Potions! Science labs! Creepy Surveillance! Corporate crap! Libraries and librarians! Sushi! Audited classes! GRADES and FINAL RESEARCH PAPERS! Wheee! Mwhaha!

Anyway: will Aziraphale and Crowley stop fucking long enough to beat the devil and save the day? Or will the formulas change them in ways they never dreamed possible? A Human AU (but also a monster/creature AU).

CHAPTER EXCERPT:

Yeah, a cool snake wouldn’t worry about a confrontation with Aziraphale, soft English Lit toff who probably only slept with old books, or maybe only old book characters. A snake would only long to sink its teeth into a calf — or maybe a shoulder, or forearm, or how about one of those tempting thighs — no! Not biting! Doing something else snaky, like attempting to crush the life out of his prey. By winding around those broad shoulders or that belly and squeezing…wait, that wasn’t better. That was worse. Crowley cut off all thoughts of snakes. And broad shoulders. And bellies and thighs, damn it.

because I wanted to review them like I’ve seen a lot of people do, but I am simply not strong enough to rank them by how much I like them (I love them all dearly). these are all my opinions so please don’t come at me 😇

Self-Titled (1971) (I often wonder how they came up with such genius stuff as their first album, but then again, it’s the Maels and of course they did) Bops: SLOWBOAT!!! 💞💖💗, Saccharin and the War, High C (and many more…)

Flops: Biology 2 :| it's fun sometimes but I usually skip it (as many people do). Sorry not sorry Earle Mankey 🫢

A Woofer in Tweeter’s Clothing (1972)

Bops: Girl 👏 from 👏 Germany 👏 (far beyond the rest of the album imo), Whippings and Apologies

Flops: The Louvre (it’s actually ok but I never feel like I need to listen to it), Batteries Not Included 👎

KIMONO MY HOUSE (1974)!!!!! MY BESTIE!!!!

Bops: Amateur Hour (this is everyone’s favorite but it’s the best song I have ever heard in my life), Barbecutie, Talent is an Asset, and more!

Flops: literally none this is a no skip album. Sometimes Here in Heaven can be a little grating but I never let myself skip it (out of loyalty) 💪

Propaganda (1974)

Bops: B.C. (I am a HUGE B.C. enjoyer), Something for the Girl with Everything, Marry Me, and bonus points to Propaganda because it's cool

Flops: ummm Who Don't Like Kids I guess? or Achoo? but both of those are actually really good, they just have annoying endings so I don't think they count

Indiscreet (1975) << LOVE her

Bops: Looks, Looks, Looks!!! (SLAYS SO HARD), Hospitality on Parade, How Are You Getting Home/Happy Hunting Ground/The Wedding of Jacqueline Kennedy to Russell Mael/Get In The Swing/Under The Table With Her

Flops: Indiscreet is OOPS ALL BANGERS!!! No flops here :)

Big Beat (1976) ok if I thought I loved Indiscreet I REALLY love Big Beat. It was the first Sparks album I liked and it gets a lot of hate but it's my good time boy

Bops: Confusion!!! Screwed Up!!! I Like Girls!!! (The amount of exclamation points in this post is getting appalling‼️)

Flops: White Women I guess?? It's my least favorite but it's still very well produced in terms of music, I just get squeamish about the lyrics (which is funny bc I'm fine with Throw Her Away And Get A New One). I know the song is ironic but still........

Introducing Sparks (1977) (also my good time boy)

Bops: I looooove Occupation, Forever Young, and Over the Summer and those are just the ones I would rank 10 out of 10!!! There are a lot of other ones that are also fabulous

Flops: Those Mysteries .... I know a lot of people like it but it just does not hit for me. I'm not a huge fan of I'm Not either but it's still a solid 7 out of 10

NUMBER ONE IN HEAVEN (1979)! aka number one in my heart!! ok maybe number three but no one's forcing me to rank them

Bops: La Dolce Vita, Beat the Clock, The Number One Song in Heaven...... but I hate picking favorites.....

Flops: my other voice 😶 it's good but the rest of the album is incredible, show stopping, fantastic, amazing, and other adjectives that describe how my mind was blown when I first listened to it. I think My Other Voice is nice as a lead up to The Number One Song in Heaven but it is my least favorite on the album

I've been running this writing experiment lately to cut out phrases like "I felt" in my fiction writing. Like I was looking at a sentence in a draft that said, "he felt as if character's eyes were pinning him in place." And then I was like, "well, does he think that or is it true? As a result of this person watching him, he's froze. It's not like a thing, it is that thing."

Oh and "almost"! I'm always going, "He felt almost relieved that it hadn't happened." Well, did he feel better that it didn't happen or didn't he? Or "somewhat", I'm always going, "she felt somewhat perturbed."

And like none of that is wrong, to be clear. I don't know if it'd improve your writing, I don't even know if it'll improve my writing, but I use this sentence structure all the time so every viewpoint is from a voice that thinks about what it thinks, hedges its statements, and offers the same ability for wry little jokes formatted in the exact same way. And I have a lot of writing like that and I think (!) that they're good, but read as a whole, I'm like, "god, they all sound the same." Like there's one melody that I write songs to, so even with different lyrics, it's almost (!) the same song. Something I've been struggling with in regards to my writing and why I've felt so blocked is how boring I found writing my usual way. I'd read something and enjoy the individual parts of it, but then I'd step back and I didn't like the whole. And I got good at this enough at seeing that I didn't like it to do it in real time as I was writing, which as you can imagine didn't improve the process of writing because now I was bored AND dejected about being bored.

There's this sentence-level structure fact that I use unconsciously. A pattern I find easy is short sentence, short sentence, short sentence, long sentence. So I write that. "He [verbed]. He [verbed]. Then he [verbed]. As he [verbed] to his [consequence], he [verbed] that [noun] was [statement of condition]." Which could work, it often does make for a nice rhythm, but it's something I reach for often because it's easier for me.

Just last sentence, I originally typed, "I find it easier for me." But if what I mean is "using this pattern is less effort than another pattern," then it's easier for me. One voice is hedging its bets and the other asserting. Either is fine! But they're different! And, again, GOD you would not believe how many words I've cut out of this paragraph as I write it. I'm so chatty. I love using twelve words when six will do. And that gives my writing a specific tone to my ear.

So if I am bored of that tone, why not try using just the six words? Why be understated? Why be afraid of stronger opinions? So right now with my fiction, I'm experimenting with cutting out as many self-reflective words as I can. Sometime you do need to draw attention to the face that this is the character's interpretation, but like you definitely don't need to do it as much as I naturally want to do it. You don't need to always go out of your way to allow the possibility that the narrative voice is wrong. During editing, I trim the weaker ones (I originally typed, "what I consider the weaker ones" Is that more accurate?). But I think them being there in the first place shifts my language which shifts my character's which shifts my plot. It's sentence structure all the way down!!

(this barely applies to my writing on here, btw. i try to do good but yknow this is a tumblr blog. i'm not trying to get a lit mag to accept it.)

Anyway blah blah (chatty!) the point is I've been trying to write in a way opposite of my interests. Something that doesn't take itself too seriously, that emphasizes EMOTION and ACTION instead of minimizing it, and that clips through scenes at a good pace. Doing this been amazingly fun. I've been having such a good time doing it. I am writing so much because I really enjoy doing it. The process of writing is so fun again.

This post is about two things. One is my new mood stabilizer and therapy day camp. The other is about the benefit of pretending to be MXTX.

This is the most bots I've gotten ever, even more than both times I've been reblogged by Haiku Bot, and it started when I sent an ask to a blog asking if they were real or not. Have you interacted with one recently, or do you think it might have to do with the Owl House tag, maybe?

We're all strugglebussing together with these bots. My strength and patience goes out to you.

The devil says edge, to cut even a knife itself if pointed your way, while the angel claims a dress and fancy clothes. Both she likes, neither she can decide on. What event could it be? Thank you for much for the message, the hug, and the cup of coffee! All are welcome! Also, please forgive the SUPER LATE response to this message, but I was unable to write everything out sooner. So, if you're still around, I hope you can still enjoy reading about these two! Hope you are having a beautiful day, as well! ^_^

Now, onto my answers!

1. I actually haven't decided yet on exactly how or when they meet, though I can tell you that takes place in June 1756, after Shay has recovered under the care of Constance's parents-in-law, the Finnegans. That being said, before they meet proper, Constance DOES spot Shay in town, sporting her late husband's Templar coat - and let's just say, she immediately decides to have some strong, choice words with Barry and Cassidy!

2. Slow burn, ABSOLUTELY. Each can't deny the other is physically attractive, but with the still-grieving Constance initially unhappy with Shay inheriting her late husband's coat, and Shay still emotionally recovering from defecting from the Assassins, the sparks don't begin to fly until much later on! (Y'know, once they've had a chance to talk like actual adults? lol)

3. I haven't written any one shots yet, actually! But once I get things more solidified with them, I might! Maybe if I ever open up requests for ficlet prompts again, I'll offer them as an option!

4. My current faceclaim for Constance is the lovely Dominique Devenport!

5. And I do currently have a playlist for them, that I'm still adding to! But one song I will mention that ALWAYS reminds me of them is "Sirens" from the "Jane Eyre" musical. With all the references to the sea, the passionate frustration, and the underlining pining, I think it's just perfect for them! (Especially given some of the obstacles that come later on that prevents them from getting together just yet.)

okay this is now like the third time i had an experience at work where i was like Maybe Unemployment Is Good, Actually! Maybe I Will Quit Tomorrow! & then went to my boss and shared my grievances & felt heard & more optimistic about my job, but i am not falling for it! my managers are not good at management and their clumsiness makes them unkind, irrespective of their intentions! i expect no improvement & must not count on it!

Next is Mr. Big, he’s so big and fluffy, and his belly is really squishy! 

Then there’s big sister Amy, she always smells like strawberries. 

Mr. Tails’, um, tails are so fluffy they make me really happy! He gets super shy when I tell him that, which is really cute!

And of course Mr. Sonic, but I’m jealous I didn’t get to see him when he was a werehog. A hug with all that fluffy fur would have been really nice! 

Oh, and Mr. Vector and Mr. Espio! Their scales always tickle, though. 

Charmy, too, but he always plays in dirt and it gets on my dress. He smells like flowers and honey, though. 

I don’t want to hug Mr. Eggman because he’s mean and bad, but his does belly looks squishy. Hmm...
