Ah, two fascinating questions, my friend. I shall address them with the utmost seriousness, as one must be prepared for anything, especially with unusual inquiries such as these.

Question 1: What would I do if I found a dead body in an empty room?

Now, first things first: I would not panic. Panic is for amateurs. The first thing I would do is check to see if the body is, indeed, dead.

One cannot simply assume anything, especially in Rivendell, where a great deal of people look like they might be dead but are in fact just very very sleepy or, more often, caught in deep thought.

A thorough examination is necessary.

Are there any signs of injury? A pulse? Is the body cold to the touch? I would check—thoroughly—before coming to any conclusions. If the body is dead, then I would take careful notes for the record, of course, as one does in the event of unscheduled fatalities. But what would I do next? Oh, I would inform the proper authorities—such as Glorfindel, who would undoubtedly have some remarkably dramatic theory about the situation. Or Elrond, of course, who would take the matter with such seriousness that everyone else would undoubtedly become incredibly nervous.

As for what I would personally do next? I would, naturally, make a mental note not to leave any room unattended in the future. If anything, this could very well be the perfect opportunity for an extra bit of cleaning and checking on the state of the door locks.

Question 2: If you punch yourself in the face and it hurts, are you weak or strong?

Ah, the eternal dilemma. I shall approach this question with the seriousness it demands.

If you punch yourself in the face and it hurts, that simply means you possess the rare and exquisite gift of self-awareness. You are clearly capable of suffering from your own actions. How sensitive of you!

It could be that you are weak, but, on the other hand, it could be that you are too strong for your own good.

After all, have you ever met anyone capable of truly delivering a punch to the face—whether to themselves or to others—without it leaving an impression? This is a matter for philosophers, or perhaps even counselors, to ponder. But I, for one, would not recommend testing this theory again, for the sake of your being, naturally. The results could very well surprise you—or at least lead to bruises or worse.

(Side note: Please, do not try this in any official capacity. A punch to the face is best left to those more suited to handling such things—namely, Glorfindel. He loves dramatic displays of strength.)
