Trickster is an elf, that much is well-known to you all, but he never knew he was an elf, let alone where elves came from. He had heard fairy-tales, watched plays and performances, but he was not magical, and he did not live far, far, far from humans. He knew how to fly, and he knew how to write, and he knew how to read, and he knew how to solve puzzles. But he was not magical. Which means he was not an elf.

But humans did not wings, and they did not have tails, and they did not have horns. They could not fly, and they didn't mind that he could. They did not mind that he was very strange, and they not mind he was very different. But not many would talk to him, and not many would humour him.

His parents loved him so, even though he was very strange, even though he was an unruly child, even though he was a quiet teen. His parents loved him, and that was all he could ever need. But love did not make him human. Love did not make him any less different. Love could not ask him to stay when The Call came. It understood. It let him go. It prayed he would come home, someday.

Notes:

Compared to the classic!UT, TUN!Gaster died in the core, but was not scattered across space and time. Instead he fell in the games code, acting more like a parasitic corrupted game file. Eating at everything in his way. He uses monsters eyes to be able to see in the AU (quite literally has eyes everywhere), he was not forgotten as Tox and Papyrus know their father is dead, but are unaware of what happened after his "death" and what became of him.

He is mentally unstable and sees himself as some type of "god". He is insane, literally stealing monsters eyes for his own selfish needs.

When he takes an eye (he does so literally) the game glitches, causing the affected monster's eye to be there but not work as it should (slightly blindness/twitching). They are unaware their eye was stolen, most monsters resort to using eye patches or feel their eye itching. But he is seeing through that stolen eye.

Okay, so new day; new insane lore history theory.

Looking at the tapestry from ToX again more closely, after my very quick scan this morning, there are actually five distinct types of soldiers shown:

Based on careful examination of the contemporary armor/uniforms used by the Pentarchy armies, I landed on this breakdown:

I could explain in great detail how I made those distinctions, but honestly it doesn't matter and people don't care. Just trust me, I thought hard about it.

Originally I misidentified there as only being three types of soldiers, because the Katolis/Evenere and Neolandia/Del Bar designs are very similar. Also because the tapestry shows three cities:

Katolis is obvious, and I still think the other two are Berylgarten and Neolandia. The map helpfully tells us there are five known cities in the human kingdoms, complete with little pictures:

I've left out Hinterpeak because it's very obvious none of the tapestry cities is Hinterpeak, Hinterpeak is literally inside a mountain. Del Bar's secondary city, Serpentongue, looks like a candidate based on its map drawing, but ToX tells us that Serpentongue actually looks like this, which is... less representative of what the tapestry shows:

We see Berylgarten briefly in s2 during Viren's flashback sections, where it's a sort of tiered city with towers around a central dome:

I think that's closer to the top tapestry city than Serpentongue is, though it's still fairly abstracted. It also makes more sense for the "capital" city of a kingdom to be represented.

Finally, we have Eboreus, which is a bit of a problem child because we have no long-distance views of Eboreus that I can recall... there are depictions of the inside of the city, but nothing that would characterize its silhouette for us. However, ToX does have another piece of "old" artwork, meant to be probably some kind of fresco, depicting the founding of Neolandia and Eboreus:

(This is the latter, Eboreus half, the right half just shows the people migrating from the east and going through a nomadic tent-based civilization period.)

It doesn't help a ton, except that construction of the city wall is given a pretty dramatic place in the visual narrative. I would definitely assume, from this, that Eboreus is a walled city similar to the bottom tapestry city. Combined with the many-spired depiction on the map, I feel okay about that identification.

It's interesting that they geographically represent only three of the five kingdoms, but if the tapestry pre-dates parts of the kingdoms' formations... well, the kingdom that's a swamp infested with magical megagators and the kingdom where they still choose the next monarch by having a literal melee free-for-all are honestly the ones I'd say probably took the longest to establish like... actual government.

However, something to keep in mind is that while I've been talking about this tapestry like it's a super-old historical document within the setting, it may actually not be from all that far in the past. All we really know is that it shows a conflict between humans and elves, divided by the Border, and that's not exactly a historically unique scenario. The main things that suggest it's showing an earlier time than "now" are that it includes only three cities, and that it clearly depicts mages being heavily involved in warfare. If that was something that was expected at series time, a lot of things would be very different. I could, however, see it being a thing as late as, say, the time of the Orphan Queen. I mention all of this because the tapestry is one of several "old"-looking art pieces in Tales of Xadia, but we have to keep in mind that one of those literally depicts Harrow killing Avizandum, so. It could be very old, it could be not-very old. (I mean, 300 years is still pretty old, in the scope of known human history.)

Really, though, what I wanted to talk about is this:

We have our "Katolian" soldier, but the heraldry on their shield is not the Katolis uneven towers, even though that's already a distinguishing feature of the kingdom (as seen in the city depictions). Instead, it's a layered uh... thing. But it's a thing we've seen before:

The guards at Allhaven Hill have their own heraldry, presumably because they're supposed to be neutral regardless of their kingdom of origin... but it's almost exactly the same overlapping geometric design as we see in the tapestry.

We also have Blondie McKatolis, in the flashback scenes during Zubeia's account of Aaravos's imprisonment, strongly implying that we are seeing representatives of the human kingdoms at the time of the Orphan Queen:

We pretty clearly also have Neolandia, Del Bar, and Evenere at this table. Also Duren, I just always get confused by her since they gave her those purple-y pink accents instead of blue. Why? No idea. What is this, Sleeping Beauty?

Anyway, Blondie up there also does not use the modern Katolian uneven-towers heraldry, nor the crown that matches it. Depending on how long the Aaravos bullshit had been going on, it's not surprising that the Orphan Queen would try for a clean slate when taking the throne. Having just averted devastation on both sides of the Border by working together with Xadia, "finding strength in our differences" is a pretty good choice for new logo inspiration. (I don't actually know how you adopt/change heraldry. But I do know logo design and branding strategy!)

Given that all five kingdoms technically appear in the tapestry, the "Pentarchy" heraldry could already be a united human kingdoms symbol... except then why isn't it on any of the other soldiers? Some of them have shields almost exactly the same as the Katolian soldiers, but no heraldry.

So here's a thought: what if it actually is the Katolian heraldry of the time, or a symbol of the kingdoms united under Katolis?

Katolis is one of the older and larger kingdoms, it's implied to have had a larger and more organized military for a long time (holding most of the Border), and Blondie is the one with Aaravos whispering in his ear. It wouldn't be super weird if Katolis at one point held a higher position than the other kingdoms, whether as "first among equals" or an actual system of vassals with a "high king" or whatever. The center, frontmost piece of the overlapping geometry, so to speak.

We have occasionally gotten weird little hints/implications that the current era of peace between the human kingdoms, even the entire concept of the Pentarchy, is fairly recent. What if that's not because they were all squabbling amongst themselves even after the mage wars wound down, but that prior to the Orphan Queen, they were all varying degrees of vassal states to Katolis? If part of what the Orphan Queen did was reset the human kingdoms as equals, doing a "this symbol now belongs to all of us, not just Katolis, and Katolis will adopt new heraldry" could be a nice gesture.

But yeah, that's how my brain has been spinning today.

We are two creators who started up a long project of rewriting and redesigning Hazbin Hotel based on the pilot. This project is for fun!

Why does this blog exist?

Me and Rena have been working on this project behind the scenes for awhile now. I’ve been posting my redesigns for this project on my art account, and thought it’d be a good idea to make a blog dedicated to this project! That way we can post art, story snippets, and eventually, a fully written project (hopefully). Also, I thought it would be fun to give people the chance to interact with our version of these characters.

My stance on Vivziepop and canon

This is purely mod Tox speaking for a moment here. I do not like Vivziepop, I think she's a transphobic, immature thief and a sellout, and as it stands I'm kinda exasperated with the show we got. There's potential there, but as it stands I am just, so disappointed with the end product. I do not support Vivziepop in the slightest, and have not given her a cent, and will continue to do so.

That being said, there's too much potential for us to ignore, and that's why me and Rena have started this project, focusing on the missed potential and showing instead of just telling. Plus I made some fun designs that I wanted to use for something.

Personally I never really had an opinion of Viv for the longest time and that's mainly because I have a weird thing about shows where I don't really follow what the creator does?? So for years I never really cared for her, only the pilot and the VAs/HunCast because they are what brought charm into the Fandom. (I didn't watch every single one only a few). So eventually when I heard of bad things about Viv based on videos on YouTube and seeing her behavior to criticism on Twitter clearly shows what kind of person she is? Along with then few other things I've heard about from Tox since they're more in tune to what happens around the internet. So overall, I didn't care for her and now I care for her less.

Wilder Girls Ch. 5

Today, I got through Ch. 5 of Wilder Girls. Below is my summarization and thoughts so far.

Hetty is finding it hard to forget about all the food they threw out. She feels guilty.

Welch confronts Hetty. Telling her she needs to snap out of her funk pretty much. Get her friendship with Resse back and go back to normal, p3ople are watching. Welch doesn't wanna hear that it was Reese who started it, and why should she be th3 one to fix things. Still, Welch pretty much tells her to do it or else. Why does Welch care so much? Does she think Hetty will slip and say something? does she think people will wonder? If so, who cares.

As Welch is walking away, Hetty says, "Doesn't it bother you? Lying to everyone? Hetty says it looks like Welch wants to say "yeah it does," but all she does is shrugg and say, "So?" Is Welch really so cold? Is she hiding her emotions trying to stay tough?

When the Tox first started, they didn't really have a name for it. Hetty remembers watching Mr. Harker; Reese's dad, get sick th3n one day he's throwing up black sludge, grainy like dirty. The next day, he runs past the fence. Never to be seen again.

Hetty goes to make up with Reese. Reese asks her what's wrong. Hetty must not hide emotions well. Saying she's okay, they start talking. Reese asks if Hetty saw him, any trace of him, or their old house. Hetty tells her no. What did Reese expect? Hetty to go out there, and oh shit there's Reese's dad?

Hetty says she's going to find Byatt that she was supposed to come out and talk with them. On her way in to find Byatt, a girl comes running out to tell her that Byatt is having a flair up. Hetty is so confused she was just with her, not even 10 minutes ago, she says.

Hetty runs through the school looking for Byatt. Finally, in the kitchen, she finds Byatt on the ground almost seezing with pain, but she can't tell what's wrong, and Byatt can't speak. Someone goes to find Welch to come help. Hetty goes to tell Byatt that Welch is coming, that she'll take care of her. Byatt goes to say something, but Reese puts her hand over her mouth. Telling her to save her voice and strength. Why would Reese do that? Are her and Byatt suspicious of Welch?

Welch has the Boat Shift girls, minus Hetty, take Byatt up to the infirmary. Apparently, the Boat Shift girls are in charge of helping with stuff like that. As they are taking Byatt up, she smashes something into Hettys' hand. Hetty sees its the crackers Byatt had when she found her. Welch sees these and tells her to put them back in rations. Food is food. Hetty can't believ3 what she just heard. Reese tells Welch nah we'll keep it. Welch doesn't argue. Is there a message in the crackers? Why the hell does Welch care so much about these, yet just tossed a shit ton of food into the ocean.

Reese and Hetty are worried about Byatt so much so that there beef they had is squashed. Using all their focus on worrying about Byatt. They end up not being able to sleep. Hettys worried Byatt won't come back down from the infirmary. Seeing as most girls don't. Resse says she will, hetty says don't promise something you can't keep. Reese then says I didn't promise.

What's ur issue with edizzy?

Any relationship that ties Izzy with Stede or Ed, I am not a fan of. I live by a ship and let ship philosophy but I will curate my timeline so I don't have to see ships that I personally don't like.

I don't like Izzy with Ed because it is clear to me in canon that Izzy doesn't actually love Ed, and he realizes that at the end when he gets to grow and start to become his own person that isn't clinging onto the persona of BB and the strict masculinity Izzy has been holding onto.

To Ed, Izzy is just another father-like figure that is part of his trauma response. (Captain Hornigold, the fisherman, etc are also part of this.) And at least twice, we see Ed react negatively to any affection offered to him from Izzy. He is not in love with him. And I will even argue that while Izzy loves Ed, he isn't in love with the real Ed. He does wish him well though.

I think a large part of Izzy's season two journey is finding out he isn't in love with Ed. And even if Izzy wasn't killed at the end (I think there were plans to bring him back in s3, there's a lot of foreshadowing in the story, just like there was foreshadowing of his death) Ed and Izzy needed to be apart to grow out of their toxicity.

The Discomfort in a Married State episode seems to be peoples biggest evidence of a sexual edizzy. But I think that's a baseline reading of what that episode is trying to communicate. It is not about sex/romance, it is about the societal expectations that are causing the discomfort. For Stede, it is about living in this married state and the societal expectations in it, while he is incredibly unhappy. So unhappy, he runs away, and is even suicidal, but would rather live a short life as a pirate then continue living in "discomfort." For Ed, it is the societal pressures of being Blackbeard. He is also suicidal and trying to get away from it and we see him tell Izzy this directly in this episode, and Izzy's response is basically, buck up and pull yourself up by your bootstraps. (Now there is a whole thing of Izzy as the middle manager trying to keep his bad boss and the crew in check, which is why he responds like that reading. But also, I will say Izzy constantly lies to the crew, to Ed, to whomever, and I don't think it's always to "try to keep everything working" or however you want to phrase it. A lot of times it's to his own advantage, and the show also shows that he's in the wrong. It may be done in a funny way, but throughout both seasons, Izzy continually makes the wrong choices by the narrative.)

Years ago, Ed and Izzy may have gotten along but not anymore. That's why Ed and Stede work so well, they are confined by society and those societal norms being put up on them by outside forces, but together, they can just be themselves.

I haven't even touched upon the abuse side of things because I know that's a tricky subject, but I don't want Ed or Stede to be with their abusers.

You did not ask about stizzy or Steddyhands, but I'm on a role, so here goes.

I read Stede as demisexual. I think there is also a very clear canon reading and support of that theory. And it is also clear he wants Ed, and only Ed. Doesn't mean he hasn't had dalliances with others in the past, but once he's set his mind on Ed, that's who he wants. Because it's Con playing the character, he has sexual vibes with everyone, and that can be easy to play into if you want to ship Izzy with anyone. It makes sense. Especially cause Con will repost any Izzy art, including any Izzy ships, because he is a great man who wants to support art and support us.

But stizzy just doesn't make sense to me, for reasons stated above.

And for Steddyhands, I have found that most people who support Steddyhands are usually using it as a way to heal Izzy. Or that Ed and Stede are too "whim-prone" and they need Izzy to balance them out. And that is clearly taking away both Ed and Stede's agency, which could be a whole other discussion. Also, Izzy has represented the toxic masculinity of being a pirate, and he gets to grow away from that, but not completely. So teaming that person up with the two men, whose entire journey is to get away from societal norms, and not fitting into society because they aren't playing their masculinity right, to become themselves and live by their own rules, takes away the entire thesis of this show and their relationship.

Now having read all this, you may think that I hate Izzy. And the thing is I don't. I love canon Izzy. I don't particularly like fanon Izzy, and quite frankly his more extreme fans have tested my patience on my love for him, but I find him intriguing. But Ed and Izzy's relationship in canon is absolutely fascinating and I loved seeing Izzy's journey over the two seasons. I just don't think it being tied to Ed and Stede sexually/romantically is it. Not for me. But as I said, ship and let ship.

Ight lore dump under cut 'cause I have A LOT of lore about this lil' guy already

In an alternate universe parallel to Darcy's, there are four bishops: Maple the Rosy Maple Moth of Cherry Meadows (that universe's Darkwood) (she's the goddess of order), Bes the Lavender Axolotl of Eukaryota (that universe's version of Anura) (he's the god of the harvest), Tako the Giant Pacific Octopus of High Dive (that universe's version of Anchordeep) (she's the goddess of health), and Tox the Emperor Scorpion of Starkiss Sands (they're the god of peace). These bishops are 4 out of 5 siblings. What happened to the fifth? Sera (a golden retriever), the goddess of life (Nardiner's counterpart) accidentally sealed herself in some strange realm. According to a prophecy, one lamb (or goat) can enter this strange realm and save the goddess of life. In order to be deemed worthy, they must prove to the bishops they are a worthy warrior. After going through every lamb and goat in the land, with all of them dying during the trials, only one remained: Malic, a goat that's said to have angel's blood in him. After finding an odd-looking crown on the steps of what used to be the entrance to Sera's domain, Malic gained new powers, however he used them for evil at first. Instead of approaching the trials as the bishops first intended (by just knocking out enemies and fighting the bishops until they deemed you worthy of progressing), Malic decided to reign hell upon these other realms, mostly because he was mad about the bishops making his kind do these stupid trials. However, it isn't until Malic encounters Tox towards the end of his journey that he decides to use his powers for good. After being deemed strong enough to enter Sera's prison, Malic discovers he has Sera's crown and it has been influencing him to be super violent. Why? Well, the crown is still connected to Sera and the realm was corrupting her, and in turn was also corrupting the crown. So, in order to save Sera and free her from the realm, Malic has to fight Sera. And so he does. Sera is saved, her prison destroyed, and she revives her fallen siblings. Everything is happy-go-lucky, at least until some time before Darcy's execution in their universe. When Darcy is killed for the first time, Malic's crown gets all weird and he's transported to Darcy's universe. Seeing Darcy after being revived kind of made Malic grow interested in Darcy's journey, so he followed them on their crusades in secret. It isn't until a few months after the events of Sins of the Flesh that Malic decides to actually step into Darcy's narrative by saving them from certain ass whoopin'...

I'll go more in detail about Malic whenever I make his toyhouse page but yeah that's Malic :D

A new term: "Toxship"

First, here's how you say it: "tox" is as in "toxic", "ship" is pronounced the usual way. It's a combination of "toxic" and "relationship", and thus it's said that way! Someone who supports or ships toxships might call themself a "toxshipper", if they so choose.

"But what is a toxship?"

It is exactly what it sounds like: A ship (character relationship) that could be read as "toxic". This may include...

abusive ships

ships with age gaps

interspecies ships

ships that contain graphic or heavy content

But that is not all that a toxship may be, and not all that it implies! Please, continue to read, lest you miss the point utterly...

"Isn't this covered by 'comship' already?"

It is not! I was actually inspired by "comship" to make an alternative term that better suits me. You can read about comship from some of its coiners here: 1, 2. Notice in particular these quotes from those carrds: "all ships are valid and reasonable to enjoy" and "don't like, don't look". These are crucial to comship, and are to welcome in stealth proshippers to the term. These ideals are not inherent to being toxship.

"So toxshippers can be ship haters?!"

That's correct!! A toxshipper is allowed to vent their frustrations with ships they dislike and be choosy in what they support. Think of it like a real middle-ground between proship and anti. Everyone always says ships are valid, but what about squicks and NOTPs? Have your cake and eat it, too!!

Some expansion on what toxshipping espouses:

A toxship need not necessarily be "romanticized", it can just be an abusive dynamic you enjoy exploring.

Shipping discourse is stupid, but complain if you must.

Toxship art should be tagged and flagged appropriately so it can be avoided by those who might complain, or else otherwise somehow made harder to find without intentionally seeking it out. A toxshipper who puts themself out in the open should prepare for whatever ire they may draw.

Toxship leans 18+, unlike comship. Exclude minors, even if the toxship in question is "worksafe".

Toxship does not hold the same ideals as proship, like comship does. It is not meant to be "unknown/stealth" for "ease of mind" of anyone, toxship knows exactly what it is and how upsetting it might be, and it is content with this. It is simply for those who spend their time exploring unhealthy dynamics in fiction, people who are mature enough to think about such things critically but still have some kind of fun picking it apart.

"Does toxship necessarily include incest, underage, zoophilia, etc.?"

I'd say no, because I dislike these themes and think people should try harder to make their darkfics disturbing before pulling out the big guns in gruesome detail, even if they are under the "abuse" umbrella. But I can't physically stop you if you do try and include them, can I?

"Is there a flag for toxship I can use?"

Not yet! I want to make one eventually, though. Hopefully one that's not just some stripes with an emoji slapped on.

"Is there an emoji combination for toxship that I can sneak into my bio?"

Not yet! I think it'd be fun to have symbols for it, but I haven't decided on any at this moment.

Fair warning, this is going to be very romcom like, because I thought it would be fun to write something like that. This is very dumb and goofy, I understand.

So, basically it is a movieverse fic (for those of you who don't know, that means it takes place in the ninjago movie, which is basically a high school au but I can give them powers). Debating on whether or not it should be post movie or not, but that's mainly for Shade's story. Paleman and Shade are in high school, probably sometime between 16-18.

Now I am going to preface and say I have very little idea how school work outside of the US, and not much idea of how they work in a private setting, so we're going with public school. Also, this was somewhat based off of Drama by Raina Telegmier, specifically the ending.

Also, this is probably going to be written with Paleman's side of the story, but I have a lot of stuff for Shade.

Putting the rest of it under a read more because it is really long. Apologies for typos.

The background is that Paleman is your everyday stereotypical nerd. He's in all advanced/accelerated classes, he has a few nerd friends (who in this case are Tox, Neuro and maybe Karlof), and he likes to play video games.

Unfortunately, he is also very bad at working out a schedule, and has come to the conclusion that he has to take a fine arts class that year due to needing a fine arts credit. The issues is that the only available class is acting one, which is resigns himself to taking.

On the first class of acting, Paleman notices Shade Darkley sitting at a desk, reading a book. Shade and Paleman have been in classes together for years at this point, due to going to the same elementary and middle school togehter, and Paleman knows some things about Shade that are always true.

He gets one of the highest grades in the class on everything

He is never seen without his book, and

Since fourth grade, Shade has essentially become non-verbal, only speaking when absolutely necessary.

So Paleman is very confused why Shade is in an acting class, where one assumes you have to talk a good amount, but he assumes that Shade is in a similar situation as Paleman.

Imagine Paleman's surprise when he sees Shade not only willing engaging in conversations with the other students, but starting a conversation with their teacher (who's name is Chamille Oppenheimer).

Paleman is just very confused, but he can't really dwell on the discoveries that he made because class started. After class ends, he tries to talk to Shade but can't find him. Therefore, Paleman decided to talk to his friends about what he discovered.

It turns out that none of them care about what Shade does, but they tell Paleman that if it really means that much to him they will let him do some investigating, as long as he doesn't do anything like stalking Shade or forcing him to talk to him. Paleman agrees.

This starts Paleman trying to figure out Shade (because he is confused about him, not for any other reason haha). He observes him closer in their shared classes, and he realizes that he for some reason is polite to Lloyd Garmadon. Which is weird, because Shade's parents were killed in a Lord Garmadon's attack but whatever.

Eventually they get to doing partner stuff and scene work in acting class, and Shade is paired up with Paleman for some of it.

And it's weird. Because for some kids and Ms. Oppenheimer, Shade acts more like how he used to as a kid, open and smiling and talkative.

But with Paleman and a few other kids (specifically a guy named Chad), he is even more closed off than he usually is, barely saying his lines. Paleman isn't hurt by that, that would be ridiculous.

Eventually, the semester ends, and with it so does acting class. It means the end of Paleman's view into a side of Shade that he may never get to see again. It doesn't help that his previous distractions of scholastic bowl and science Olympiad had just finished their seasons.

Thankfully, Paleman finds a distraction in the school's musical, which is looking for crew members. He decides that if he does it, then he can get his mind of Shade.

Paleman manages to get the role of the head of costumes, probably because he is the oldest person who is willing to do it but he'll take it. His friends are very glad that he isn't obsessing over Shade as much (which he wasn't, no matter what his friends say.)

However, this proves to be a very bad thing. Because guess who the male lead of the musical is, and the first two don't count.

If you guess Shade, congratulations! You will be correct.

Unfortunately, Paleman actually has to deal with Shade a good amount because apparently the guy is so short the rental company they are using for costumes don't have his characters costume in a small enough size. So Paleman has to deal with that.

This means that Shade and Paleman have to be around each other for long periods of time to deal with Shade's costume, with Paleman having to be vey close to him. This is not doing anything for Paleman's crush which he only admitted to himself because he didn't think he would ever have to confront it.

Thankfully, Shade seemed to be determined to be as professional with Paleman. He still joked with the other cast and crew members, but he was as cold with Paleman as he was with anyone else.

Eventually, the time had finally had come. The showings of the musical was to begin.

The first two days went fine. The microphone of one of the characters had went out halfway through the first act one night, and they almost dropped a light on one kid, but overall it went as well as expected.

That was, until the final night. Apparently the main female lead, Shade's love interest, had broken up with her boyfriend in the middle of the show and refused to continue to continue on stage. Her understudy can't be reached, and intermission is over and they only have 10 minutes until she goes on. None of the ensemble can stand in for her, due to her either being too tall, having too high a voice, or them not knowing her lines. Cue the pandemonium.

There is only one person who can be her.

Paleman. Paleman, who had sat through enough rehearsals with her and Shade. Paleman, who is only an inch taller than her. Paleman, who can pass off as a girl well enough for this.

Paleman grabs the backup of her costume (it cost them extra money, but they have heard enough horror stories to understand the necessities of keeping back ups for at least the leads).

When it was time, Paleman steps onto stage and starts singing. He ignores how his heart flutters when Shade sings about his supposed love for him.

Eventually the act ends, and they all bow. Everyone applauds for Paleman, much to his surprised. But he tries to take it in stride. He eventually gets to hide in the backstage area, but then he realizes that he has to go change. In the smae room as Shade.

Paleman grab his clothes and the make up remover and goes to the classroom that was designated as Shade, and now his, dressing room.

Shade is sitting on the desk when Paleman walks in. He wants to him.

Shade asks him why he did it. Why did he have to be the one to do it. Paleman tells him it because he is the only one who can.

Shade is on the verge of tears when he asks if he did it because of his crush on him. Paleman is taken aback, which Shade takes as disgust, and tries to apologize. This is the most emotion Shade has ever shown Paleman.

Shade runs out of the classroom and outside of the school, bag with his stuff slung over his shoulder. Paleman throws his stuff in his bag, and runs outside after him.

It's rainging outside. Neither of them are wearing of jackets, and Paleman's barely wearing sleeves. But neither cares.

They yell at each other more, and without thinking they move closer together, and they are grasping at each other. One of them asks if they can kiss, and suddenly they're kissing each other. It's not like the movies. It's not perfect. But it's with each other.

Shade explained, after they break apart, that he had a crush on Paleman since they were 11, and that's why they avoided him, for he believed that would get rid of his crush. Unofrtantely, it seems to have done the opposite.

Paleman admits to having a crush on Shade for almost a year at this point, and Shade just laughs and it is a beautiful.

Eventually, they have to go inside. Thankfully, the door they excited out of is unlocked and they go back into the classroom and try to not look like they were just in the rain. They are unsuccessful.

They don't know how this will end. But that's okay.

And that's it! That's the basic plot from Paleman's point of view. And if I ever go into Shade's view (which is much more angstier and less romcom) I will explain the deal with Chad is. Also, who is friends are and stuff (including why he is in acting class). Let me know if that is something people want.

Bonus fun facts:

- Tox and Neuro think it is hilarious when they get together. - I based off of Zolita's "Single In September", specifically, "Romcom girl with a bouquet/Its would be just like 90s/Kissing you in the pouring rain" (Note if you look this up it does have swear words in it) - Jay does theatre pre-movie, as well as Cole, both crew (Cole can't dance for the life of him) - This was vaguely by "Forged In Fire" by @/legonerd, specifically Shade's side
