The Response Of Love That Man Is Called To Give To His God
Tumblr media
Photo: Rise Above - Copyright 2013 Frank J Casella
As a child, I remember my Father teaching us the importance of living out the Ten Commandments, and attending Mass weekly for the Eucharist. He was an excellent example to me until his death.
It was through the Blessed Sacrament that I was able to see the love of God for me and for every person on this earth. And even more importantly, it was through the sharing of the Eucharist that I was able to receive His love and forgive others.
As Catholic men, The Commandments are a part of our Catechism that help us to better lead our family and be a leader in our community. But it is easy for us to take this for granted I am afraid, especially with all the noise and distractions of our digital and divided world.
Moderation in all things is key! The Commandments provide us with a guide to lead a holy and fulfilling life. We must remember to live by them Christ-like, by moderating our passions and living our lives with prudence. Just as importantly, we must teach our children to do the same. Living by the Commandments will help them to have a strong moral compass, learn responsibility, and be good role models for their friends and families.
So, I’d like to share some excerpts about The Commandments from around the web, and then end with them for you to meditate, study, and live out as the Holy Spirit directs:
"The Ten Commandments are God’s gift. The word “commandment” is not in style; it reminds people today of something negative, of someone’s desire to impose restrictions, to put obstacles in life’s way. Unfortunately history, even recent history, is marked by forms of tyranny, ideologies, types of logic that have imposed and oppressed and have not sought the good of people but, on the contrary, power, success, and profit."
“The Commandments, fulfilled in Jesus, form the “skeletal structure” of Christian morality. Our virtuous response forms the muscles, sinews, and flesh. But we remain in conflict with ourselves because of our sinful inclinations, while the Commandments provoke conflict with the world—and within the Church.”
From the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
2075 "What good deed must I do, to have eternal life?" - "If you would enter into life, keep the commandments" (Mt 19:16-17).
2081 The Ten Commandments, in their fundamental content, state grave obligations. However, obedience to these precepts also implies obligations in matter which is, in itself, light.
2082 What God commands he makes possible by his grace.
God has loved us first. The love of the One God has recalled in the first of the 'ten words."  The commandments then make explicit the response of love that man is called to give to his God.
The Ten Commandments
1. I, the Lord, am your God. You shall not have other gods besides me.
2. You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain.
3. Remember to keep holy the sabbath day.
4. Honor your father and your mother.
5. You shall not kill.
6. You shall not commit adultery.
7. You shall not steal.
8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.
10. You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor.

Tradchristians are like "I will pray for you all" and it just reminds me of the fact that none of them got anything better to do in their lives than stick their noses in other people's businesses and invade other people's personal spaces.

i’m actually really curious (and so sorry if this seems ignorant)- people who don’t live in canada/usamerica/uk, are you experiencing a resurgence of tradcatholic-to-fascism behaviour? what about fundamentalist lutheranism or scandinavian protestantism? i’m certain i’ve seen things about this but conversations about extremism are very much dominated by the anglo west unfortunately

Pray the Rosary; Satan Hates It
And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars: And being with child, she cried travailing in birth, and was in pain to be delivered. And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads, and ten horns: and on his heads seven diadems: And his tail drew the third part of…

Catholic Manhood Nuggets - Everyone's Invited: Not Everyone Is Accepted
October 15, 2023 Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time
The Parable of the Wedding Feast
Mt 22:1-10 "The king said to him, "My friend, how is it that you came in here without a wedding garment?" But he was reduced to silence. Then the king said to his attendants, "Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the darkness outside, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth." Many are invited, but few are chosen (Mt 22:12-14)."
In the parable of the wedding feast as recorded in the book of Matthew, Jesus issues a solemn warning against repeating the foolishness of the Pharisees. Although we have been granted the privilege of receiving the invitation to the heavenly banquet through our baptism, it is imperative that we adorn ourselves with the wedding garment of virtue and grace. It is incumbent upon us to remain cautious and vigilant against the allurements and pleasures of the world which can dangerously impede our journey towards salvation. We must earnestly engage in the daily struggle against our sinful inclinations, whilst cultivating a genuine love for God and our fellow human beings. This may appear to be an arduous endeavor, but let us not forget that Christ Himself has led the way, inspiring countless individuals to strive for eternal glory. Our benevolent Lord, in His infinite wisdom, has endowed us with plentiful graces and assistance through His Church; hence, it is our own responsibility to diligently employ these divine aids. Should we neglect to do so and find ourselves devoid of the wedding garment, we shall have none but ourselves to hold accountable. Let us recognize that we have been called alongside many others and endeavor to be counted among the chosen ones.

Never over the fact that Jod could have literally done anything with his new eternal life and he chose to recreate the catholic church but creepier with his time.
Bet you the bitch is on tumblr right now running one of those weird tradcatholic blogs that follows one too many white supremacists for it to be innocent.

The rounds are split between sides A and B based on the characters' feelings about being gay, which they obviously all are. *nod*
Side A thinks they're the progressive catholics and Side B is the tradcatholics, side B thinks they're the progressive and Side A is the tradcatholics. No one has communication skills.
Tumblr media
I'm still thinking about the "throw out the tournament, lets run a monastery instead" anon. Imagine how awkward everyone would be thinking everyone else is homophobic and they're the only queer person. Who would be the first to just come out and say they're gay? Who is still in denial?
