OOOO, 👀 Well, I certainly have some songs that remind me of a few ships!

Would anyone of you believe me if I said the song “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston is a Louigan song?... Okay, I’m lying, it’s not a Louigan song; it’s a Boblin song. 😌

Okay, the real two songs by Halestorm here are songs that remind me of Louise and Logan’s relationship. “Private Parts” and “Hate It When You See Me Cry.”

I don’t care if this is cringe, but “Waiting for Superman” by Daughtry is a Zekina song hands down. 🥺💕💕💕

I’ve always loved the song “The Reason” by Hoobastank, and honestly, the more I thought about it, it’s the perfect song for Tinimmy; it’s just a cute emotional song, and it makes me go “Aw” whenever I think about this for Tina and Jimmy Jr.

2. A ship that might surprise others: Older!Lisa Simpson x Bill Cipher (I call the ship name Billisa). My sister and I have been obsessed over these two for a long time. Call it crack, call it a crossover, call it whatever you want, but I love the ship. 😂💕💕💕

3. last song: I already said this, but “Unholy” by Sam Smith and Kim Petras. I’ve been listening to it nonstop.😂

4. Last film: The Watchers.

I was engaged to an active duty service member who on top of the physical toll on his body, had severe anxiety and PTSD that interfered with sleep and eating and self care because of things he'd seen that he refused to even divulge to me. So, to that anon, be aware that it may be a story based on a video game that you're giggling at, but the way the writer depicted the trauma and the detachment and the photographic memory of the trauma is all very real. Take that into account next time you decide to make an insensitive comment and that someone with real experience may see it. Some thoughts are inside thoughts that need to be picked apart by a shrink. Have a nice fucking day

Idea for Captain from Mobilewashing. What if he never takes the astronaut suit off, because he doesn't have a life outside of the space ship. He's just the Captain. Only the Captain.

older ask but here we go: When I got this ask it actually made me consider that idea for him. And is a major inspiration for my later characterization of him as being a man who cannot separate a multitude of concepts, places, people and things from one another. He cannot separate himself from his role as captain, because That cannot be separated from Canary Cargo. And CC is where he has his “family” aka his crew. He cannot separate those two concepts from each other: he cannot separate himself from his family, his life.

A concept I’m thinking about right now, in contrast between him and Curly, is that we never get to see his face; not his full face at least. I have to figure this one out a little more with symbolic meaning and what have you. Right now though I’m still in a rough stage where I’m trying to come up with design ideas for him, I don’t want him to have the Total astronaut look but maybe CC freighter captains have different uniforms to distinguish themselves from the others. As for the helmet itself I’m still unsure of its purpose or place.

One idea I have is that it’s a childhood item: This could connect to how Captain is still tethered to childish outlooks on the world which includes people

Another idea is that the helmet itself is a piece of technology provided by Canary Cargo: This could connect to Captain’s inability -and even disregard- to separate himself from the company

I’ll still have to work through some things though so I’m always open for suggestions

I have a lot of connections with Captain and space in general which came from the astronaut thing. I think he was a kid obsessed with the stars and space

personally fascinated by the genres going on here. it's like hurt/comfort, comfort/hurt, wholesomeness but also very much blood. like you were given the options to either do one or the other but you dumped them in a bowl and drank them both when no one was looking

Why settle for one when you can put your little guys in all sorts of situations.

Luke unknowingly cussing at Ik is absolutely hilarious. Poor boy has no idea what he said but he can probably tell from IK's reaction that it wasn't good.

Also, two fun facts that I think could cause interesting interactions between IK and the others.

There's a creature in the game known as the Leviathan which is, as that one high-quality Rain World review I watched a while back stated, a "sentient, aquatic, hydraulic press, with enough crush force to liquidize the local avian wildlife." Which are much larger than, but still fully capable of eating, the slugcat.

Slugcats are able to store non-food/non-digestible items in their stomach as long as it isn't too big compared to them, and they can easily spit it back up later when it's needed.

now that i think of it, would ik understand the others?? maybe she somehow only understands the ones that can understand her, even though everyone else speaks the same language. it makes satan so upset that HE can't communicate with her, he HAS to ask belphie, and even then belphie will do it incorrectly just to mess with him

diavolo is on the 'can understand' list though, so when he introduces the brothers to the little slugcat and gets to levi, ik responds by flattening herself on the ground and yelling at him for putting her in the same room as a predator (all levi hears a very long very angry very cute 'waaaaaaaaa')

lucifer brings home some cursed artifact that diavolo wanted him to investigate and leaves it in the common room for a moment. when he gets back the artifact is gone and ik is very suspiciously sitting right where it used to be. he has a dog-ate-something-it-shouldn't moment and he just seizes her like "WHAT DID YOU DO SPIT IT OUT SPIT IT OUT RIGHT NOW"

they'd all be very curious about how exactly this creature works, so for a while they have a scheduled 'creature time' where they all gather at the house of lamentation to just Observe ik as she goes about her very important slugcat business. it's actually very therapeutic (even if she spends a concerning amount of time hitting things with her knife)
