My mom is very proud of the cynical pragmatism I've displayed re: interactions with the government but it's actually a personal philosophy I invented at age 10 which revolved around a Romulan character's strategies for evading the surveillance state in a Star Trek beta canon novel from 1997. All roads lead back to autism

Cold!reader who defends Spencer when’s someone’s making fun of his autistic traits, and the teams like “what?????”
Tumblr media
STAGNANT — SPENCER REID!
why would someone ask spencer a question if they didn’t want to hear the answer?
late s8!spencer x cold!reader 1.2k fluff? cold!reader masterlist.
main masterlist.
a/n — the cold!reader roster i have atm has me kicking my feet and twirling my hair, stay tuned
Tumblr media
You step into the cramped precinct in a town that barely makes the map, the smell of stale coffee and old paper immediately hitting you.
The air hums with tension—murder cases tend to have that effect on a room. Your team disperses, each member diving into their respective tasks like clockwork.
You stay near Spencer, keeping an eye on the board he’s already scouring, his sharp mind undoubtedly miles ahead of everyone else’s.
It doesn’t take long for the local officers to start asking questions. You’ve seen it before: their curiosity morphing into disbelief as they’re confronted with Spencer Reid in full form.
This particular case involves a peculiar type of soil found on the victim’s shoes, and when one officer, a grizzled man named Officer Moore, offhandedly asks about its significance, Spencer lights up.
“It’s fascinating, actually,” he begins, his voice picking up with enthusiasm. “The soil contains traces of montmorillonite clay, which is common in areas with volcanic ash deposits. This specific type is unique to the western side of the county, and based on the composition—” He gestures to the samples bagged on the table, oblivious to the officer’s quickly fading interest.
Spencer continues, lost in his explanation, his words flowing like water over smooth stones. You watch the officer shift uncomfortably, his expression hardening into impatience. The moment Spencer pauses to breathe, Moore cuts in, looking at you with a smirk.
“Is he like this all the time? Never shuts up, huh?”
You freeze. The room, bustling moments ago, seems quieter now. Your team is too far off to hear, but you’re right here. Close enough to feel the sting of the comment.
Spencer doesn’t notice. Or maybe he pretends not to. Either way, it doesn’t sit right with you. The dismissive tone, the condescension dripping from the officer’s words—it sparks a heat under your skin that you don’t bother to hide.
“Are you stupid?” Your voice is sharp, like a knife scraping metal. Moore’s smug expression falters.
“Excuse me-?”
“You heard me,” you continue, stepping closer, your gaze fixed on him. “If you can’t keep up with what Dr. Reid is saying, that’s your problem. He’s giving you answers—solutions—that you clearly wouldn’t find on your own. So maybe try listening instead of running your mouth.”
Moore blinks, taken aback. His hand hovers near the cup of coffee on the table, forgotten. “I didn’t mean—”
“Yeah, you did.” you interrupt, crossing your arms. “And for the record, if he’s too much for you to handle, then stay out of his way, you’ll murk his IQ into single digits.”
The room is quiet now, the subtle hum of computers and distant voices the only sound. Spencer finally looks up, his expression unreadable. There’s a hint of surprise in his eyes, but mostly he just seems... confused.
Moore mutters something under his breath and stalks off, clearly not willing to press the issue further. Good. You watch him go, your blood still simmering.
“You didn’t have to do that,” Spencer says softly, his voice carrying a note of uncertainty.
“Yes, I did,” you reply without hesitation. “He was being a jerk.”
Spencer tilts his head, studying you. “People say things like that all the time.”
“Well, they shouldn’t,” you counter, your tone firm. “And if you wont put your foot down about it then I will.”
For a moment, he just stares at you, as if trying to decipher some hidden code in your words. Then, unexpectedly, he smiles—small and fleeting, but genuine. It feels like a victory, however minor.
Later, when the team regroups, the tension in the precinct has eased, though you can still feel a few lingering stares from the local officers.
Hotch gives you all the rundown of the next steps, his voice steady and commanding as always. You nod along, but your focus drifts to Spencer, who’s scribbling something in his notebook, seemingly unbothered by the earlier incident.
As the team breaks off to get to work, Emily sidles up beside you, her dark eyes alight with curiosity. “So,” she begins, drawing out the word. “What was that about?”
“What was what about?” you reply, feigning ignorance.
“That little showdown with Officer Grumpy Pants earlier,” she says, smirking. “Word has it you tore him a new one,”
You shrug. “He was being disrespectful.”
Emily raises an eyebrow. “To Reid?”
“To all of us, honestly,” you say. “But yeah, mostly Reid. He didn’t deserve that.”
Emily studies you for a moment, her smirk softening into something more thoughtful. “Awe how sweet,”
“Don’t start,” you warn, but there’s no real bite to your words. Emily laughs, raising her hands in mock surrender.
“Hey, no judgment,” she says. “It’s just... very human of you.”
“I’m not a robot.”
She gestures vaguely toward you. “Oh hush you know what I mean,”
You roll your eyes but don’t bother arguing. Instead, you glance across the room at Spencer, who’s now deep in conversation with JJ and Rossi. The earlier exchange seems to have rolled off him, as if it never happened.
But you know better. You’ve seen the way comments like that stick, the way they fester in that moment f hesitation before he speaks. You’re not sure why it matters so much to you—why he matters so muchbut you don’t dwell on it.
The case drags on into the evening, the pieces of the puzzle slowly falling into place. By the time the unsub is in custody and the team is preparing to head back to the jet, exhaustion hangs heavy in the air.
As you gather your things, Morgan claps a hand on your shoulder. “Hey, Ice Queen,” he says, his tone teasing. “You did good.”
“Thank you? I was doing my job.” you reply, shooting him a bemused look.
He chuckles. “Not with the case, sweetness. Word is you went full gladiator on one of the locals earlier.”
“Word travels way too fast in this team,” you mutter.
Morgan grins. “What can I say? We’re a nosy bunch. But it’s nice to know you haven’t lost your bite now you’re saddled up to boy wonder.”
He gestures with his head towards where Spencer was sleeping on the jet’s couch, wrapped in a cheap blanket like baby.
You fight back the urge to smile.
“I never changed,” you say dryly.
Morgan laughs, but there’s a glimmer of respect in his eyes. “Sure you did,”
“No I didn’t,”
He nudges your shoulder, a whisper of “You’ll admit it one day,” before he walks off.

handy checklist of why you shouldn't watch the new lilo and stitch movie (even hatewatching it. don't do that. do something fun instead)
completely destroys the entire moral of the movie by making nani leave lilo alone at the end. holy shit.
most if not all allusions to colonisation being harmful to hawai'i is gone or changed to be more "palatable"
beloved character got turned into a shallow villain who doesn't even get redeemed all because they COULDN'T AFFORD TO ANIMATE THE ORIGINAL VILLAIN???????
the gay-coded couple get completely destroyed (one of them turns out to be evil and irredeemable. and we don't get the drag scene anymore. they killed their queerness entirely)
lilo's autistic traits are extremely toned down to make her more "likeable"
the pacing is abysmal and they've removed a lot of important plot points (stitch's ugly duckling scenes for example)
a lot of characters have been completely rewritten. agent bubbles is no longer a deep and interesting multifaceted character. he's now just kind of mean and unfunny for no reason???
stitch's model isn't even faithful to the original movie. THEY PUGGED HIM!!!!!!!!
all the beautiful lighting and compositions from the original movie got put in a WOODCHIPPER. boy I sure do love bright white lighting instead of gorgeous pink dusky hues for the surfing scene
the actor for nani isn't native hawaiian. she's white and filipino and also WAY paler than nani in the original movie. she seems lovely but I think maybe for the movie about native hawaiian oppression they could have cast a hawaiian actor
stitch's character is flanderised and toned down too. he STARTS OFF loveable and less violent and antagonistic. instead of how he was in the original movie- an aggressive creature that BECOMES loving and caring as the movie progresses. his entire arc gets squashed flat so that he can be cute and cuddly for marketing
lilo's whole thing about photographing tourists as a coping mechanism for feeling like a novelty attraction to tourists is just Gone. they make the guy she takes a photo of hawaiian for no reason when he was originally a white tourist
disney made it
disney has a resort on hawai'i that spans 21 acres of hawaiian land with close to 400 rooms that costs over 600USD a night for the cheapest room. this movie is a one hour and forty eight minute advertisement for a resort that contributes to hawai'i's struggles with over-tourism.

super soldiers!141 x new to the unit!reader | this is dumb and poorly written, i'm sorry, just needed to get it out my mind
Tumblr media
thinking about a sci-fi, future-ish au where human soldiers became sort of a social experiment on a large scale after machine soldiers have proven to be inefficient against certain “threats” because of their lack of motivation, incentives. purpose. machines needed things to make sense, they couldn’t be encouraged to do some tasks. they would follow orders, of course, but they – for themselves – were not ethical at all.
machines didn’t care if it was a child, a man, a woman or an animal, if it was their target they were going to put it down at any cost and that caused problems. a lot of different problems throughout their years of usage. especially if a mission needed fast changing of target. but they were a single mind distributed in countless bodies of wires and hard plastic, and that was their biggest strength. if one knew, they all knew. if one was given an order, all the others knew what it was and what should be done to reach it. it was visceral, a core knowledge that no human was capable of achieving by natural means – of course.
so the government started to support the return of human soldiers on field, with the exception that they required new training, one to make them more united, more like one living force. they also had to work within a task force – the fewer people in a group, the better. in the first two years of this change of scenario, higher ranked soldiers started making their own task forces in order to choose the people that they worked more in sync with, and proceed through training to get them all to feel in synch as well – until the whole group felt like there was no doubt ever, just pure certain and mutual understanding.
after a sufficient number of task forces were completed and started to act on the field again, it became clear that intense training wasn’t enough. they kept running tests to understand exactly what these soldiers were lacking to improve their performance. after a few months scientists developed a new device, one that should answer their remaining questions. it was an extremely small piece of technology that was injected into the soldiers and that allowed them to communicate better – they needed fewer and fewer words to understand one another. of course, that didn’t really last long until they became obsolete and were replaced by new ones.
that technology kept on evolving until, a few years after, a special type of “device” was achieved. it half worked like a hormone in the human body – heightened senses mostly, that allowed an insane capacity to deeply understand things in a visceral matter. some people suspected it was made from specific DNA traits of animals highly skilled in things that mattered in the military – like hunting –, but in reality no one really questioned what it was. the results were all very natural – as far as they could possibly be in human terms. it worked, and that was all that mattered. it was almost totally customized, the injectable liquid had a different composition depending on what it was that the task force needed to improve as a whole. everyone in the same group received the same sample, they weren't repeated because it changed accordingly with the task force.
the truth is that task force 141 never really needed any of this shit, since day one they were a highly effective unit in all matters. with a total of five years in and out of test devices, they one hundred percent relied on their personal interaction – as any other unit should do. to say that they had each other's back was a total understatement, they completely trusted each other in an extremely vulnerable way. of course it required a deep amount of reliance to reach that, but they had come a long way anyway – with all the training plus the training with the previous test devices. but as time passed and it became law that “all working units shall have a dose to optimize their performance on field”, they had no other choice but to accept. which they were silently glad for, but they were never going to admit it. 141 was the best unit since new training began and human soldiers were a thing again, they were the very proof that human connections were necessary to certain tasks. but after they took their dose? oh boy, they were the best of the best. no questions asked, they all became more sensitive to nature itself. gaz started knowing all significant changes on the weather two day before it happened even if he was in blindfolds, soap somehow managed to always calm stray animals with his mere presence on the empty concrete forests that they had to visit every once in a while, ghost could tell how many people were inside of a room even several floors apart and captain price stopped needing to bark orders, he simply acknowledged them and then the boys seemed to simply know what to do.
they slowly morphed into one consciousness, not like the artificial intelligence prior to them, but like a new evolved version of themselves. suddenly ghost understood every sensation gaz ever talked about, gaz just knew what went through soap's mind, soap didn't even need to touch price to feel his tense shoulders anymore because everytime their captain got worried, they felt it. not like they felt their own feelings, but it was there. like they understood the very idea of their emotions.
eventually, they grew used to their new form, an emotionally charged bond that held them together. if they felt something hard enough they made the others feel it too. it wasn't always nice. one time kyle and johnny fought and that created an atmosphere where they all kept feeding off their anger, until captain told them to knock it off already and then he was mad at them like he felt both their ire – he did feel it, and it sucked. but then sometimes it was outstanding, like when ghost was so horny on a random ass tuesday and he kept horny for the rest of the week and the week after. when he finally managed to get his sweet, sweet relief, he dragged all his boys with him – even though he was alone in his room and they were all doing their respective chores. they all felt that knot loose in their lower half and just knew exactly what it was – who it was. after that they all tried to rile each other up with only their weird telepathic bond.
things were fun and enigmatic, they didn't need scientific explanations to things they simply knew. and understood. it wasn’t a problem to be solved by any means, they all simply embraced this new scenario and tried to make the most of it. and it worked, they got to a level that some things didn’t even have to be said because they would know from the moment that the others acknowledged it as well.
until one day they were chilling in the living room of their house, watching tv when a small pang of anxiety sparked somewhere low in their chest. cap furrowed his brows looking at johnny for an answer but he was just as confused. he turned to simon to see his visible discomfort at the foreign sensation. simon turned to kyle, the only one who seemed rather unbothered by it, although just as confused, and asked “what is it?”, even though he knew it wasn't kyle, and he knew kyle didn't know either.
kyle simply shrugged, “dunno, but it's weird as fuck.” it was his way to cope with the strange feeling, trying to not let it consume him. he wondered where it was coming from, since it wasn't from any of the others.
“we will know soon enough,” john said, the soothing tone a bit unusual in the captain's voice, but it was welcome nonetheless. it managed to work the boys' nerves, and soon enough none of them felt the small, irritating poke of anxiety.
it wasn't four days later that realization washed over them. it was price who received the news – of course, like always – but they all immediately knew that something was up. they wordlessly gathered at john's office door exchanging glances until his voice cut through the silence. they didn't knock but he knew that they were standing there, “come in already, will you?”
johnny opened the door, simon and kyle stepped in first as he held it open for them. he closed the door behind him, watching john's expression. they all knew they needn't worry, but they also knew it wasn't easy news. no one said a word, simply watching silently as price lit up a cigar and rubbed a hand down his face, then his hand scratched his beard. he sighed, taking a few seconds to find the right words, he took one final drag and settled his cigar down.
he wasn't stressed, just tired – and that said a lot, it also soothed the boys. they could help him relax in their own way if he was tired, but if he was stressed he never really allowed them close – that required a great deal of work, he never wanted them to feel stressed too. john took a breath, opened his mouth to say something more elaborate, but he couldn’t, he was just as surprised as the boys would be. so he just spilled the words out.
“we are getting an addition to the unit.”

Reader, it has happened already. Less than a month after it debuted, the Black Mirror episode Joan Is Awful has already become the unlikely figurehead of the strike. It's the story of a woman who, at the end of each day, realises with horror that her actions have been folded into a Dropout-style biographical drama, where all her bad traits and regrettable decisions are played out onscreen by Salma Hayek. Except, as the episode goes along, we learn that it isn’t Hayek at all; it’s an AI-generated likeness of Hayek, commissioned by unethical executives working for a monolithic streaming platform. It couldn’t be more timely. A sticking point of the Sag-Aftra strike is the potential that AI could soon render all screen actors obsolete. Chief negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland laid bare the AMPTP’s so-called “groundbreaking AI proposal,” which holds the potential to wipe out an entire pathway to breaking into the industry, as well as a reliable source of income for many. The reported proposal hinged on the ability for background actors to be “scanned, get paid for one day’s pay” and for that company to “own that scan of their image, their likeness, and to be able to use it for the rest of eternity in any project they want with no consent and no compensation.” It’s a similar line to the one currently taken by the striking WGA writers. Eventually, they claim, technology will advance enough to make an AI-generated script that is indistinguishable from one created by a human. These scripts would be cheap and instant, and – even though they’re essentially composite jobs, made by scraping existing scripts – they would immediately put an entire profession out of work.
fellas, we're really in it (a black mirror episode) now

Astrology observations 🏕🚐⛺️

🚐🏕 Pisces Juno can outlive their committed partner, marriage spouse.
⛺️🚐 Libra MC might be well-known for promoting self-love, wellness and well-being. These are the natives that remind those around them to take care of themselves in a caring, compassionate way.
🏕🚐 Wherever there is Gemini over your Natal chart is very duality is present. If you have Gemini over the 5th house, you could crush or develop a romantic interest on two people. If you have Gemini over the 7th house, you could feel tempted to be in a partnership with two people. If you have Gemini over the 4th house, you could have two mothers or mother figures. If you have Gemini over the 3rd house, you may not be able to choose between two best friends to make one your true best friend, so you could have two best friends instead. If you have Gemini over the 9th house you could have 2 marriage partners in your life. If you have Gemini over the 1st house, you could be consciously or not put in situations in your life where you are the second person in some scenario. If you have Gemini over the 8th house, you could have 2 people you are physically intimate with or/and you share a deep trusted bond. If you have Gemini over the 11th house you could belong to two friend groups. If you have Gemini over the 2nd house, you attract people that could date two people at once.
🏕🚐 Libra Chiron or Chiron in the 7th house, even some Venus Chiron aspects are sometimes trying to “buy” love by overextending themselves, such as doing acts of service, giving gifts in attempt to win a romantic interest over.
🚐⛺️ Sagittarius Ascendant either is overdoing it in a romantic partnership or »underperforming«. These natives either give a lof attention, affection, care, gifts to their partner or they are withdrawing that energy and not doing enough.
🏕🚐 Based on real life patterns, I noticed that often you make fun of your Jupiter sign, house, degree, even Jupiter aspects to other planets. So if you have Jupiter in the 2nd house, you may try to mimic words, gestures, actions in a humorous manner and make fun of Taurus Sun.
🚐⛺️ If you have Taurus Juno, you could attract a committed partner, spouse that collects things just in case they will use it later. Huge »hoarder spouse« placement.
🏕🚐 I mentioned before in answers to mailbox questions, but 4th house Synastry really is much more clingy than 12th house. With 12th house Synastry there is occasional ghosting, you're ignoring each other due to misinterpreted actions or words, you forget to answer the other person or you pretend you didn't see them or you are just a bit oblivious or unaware. But with 4th house is non-stop clingy energy. People you have 4th house Synastry will want you attention, be in your energy or around you daily. So it can really get tiring, much more than it is with 12th house Synastry.
⛺️🚐 I think it's not talked enough how Libra Chiron people attract a lot of people who abuse substances or/and narcissistic romantic partners.
🚐🏕 Gemini Juno people get very, very quickly embarassed by something their partner did or said. But to be fair, Gemini Juno natives quite often do or say something to embarass themselves too.
⛺️🚐 Pisces North Node and North Node in the 12th house people often sacrifice their own health and well-being by being dedicated to something, which can in the long run cause them ilness or health issue, condition.
🚐🏕 In Composite charts, the woman and how she feels about the connection, acts is represented by the Moon placement. The man, the more masculine energy is represented by the Sun placement. But the second thing I noticed interpreting Composite charts is also that Venus placement serves as »a second Composite Moon« which also shows further the traits of the woman, feminine in the connection. And Mars placement is »the second Composite Sun« which shows the traits of the man more in-depth.
🚐⛺️ I think Juno house really shows more the location of meeting your partner rather than their traits. Juno house shows circumstances, where you meet them, what was happening around. So Juno in the 6th house would point to meeting at work. I would say Juno sign more so indicates traits rather than getting along with person who has planets in that sign. For example, you could have Gemini Juno and wish for a talkative partner who is active and present in conversations, but you may prefer more stability than person with Gemini placements can offer. Most often I think people don't really like the typically personality of their Juno sign, but more so just bits of it. So if you have Gemini Juno, you may not like someone who gossips, but more so you like that they are able to keep the conversation going with stimulating topics.

hey you!! i wanted to ask what you think are the beste synastry or composite aspects for platonic relationships since i think there’s not enough attention around that. thanks and take care <3
Hello love! I will share some with you! 🤍
Platonic Relationships
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Small note: the aspects that will be mentioned can apply to both synastry and composite charts.]
🤍 Sun-Mercury aspects facilitate the flow of conversations. You may feel similarities with each other and that some aspects of your personalities connect well with each other's. You may have similar ways of expressing yourself and feel at ease when chatting with each other. Fun conversations occur in which you feel the other is interested in truly getting to know each other.
🤍 Sun-Jupiter aspects naturally evokes feelings of joy, motivation, and positivity. They see themselves as lights in each other's lives, and may even feel more comfortable when the other person is present. They feel they can truly be themselves, that the other person roots for their success, and that they feel the joy you feel when facing your achievements.
🤍 Moon-Saturn aspects are excellent, as they not only provide durability in the relationship, but also make you see in each other a refuge, someone you can trust, and someone you know will not let you down. You are there for each other; you support each other through storms or existential lulls. You feel safe expressing your emotions and that if you break down, the other will hold you up.
🤍 Moon conjunct Rising or Descendant evokes feelings of tenderness. Both are concerned about the other's well-being and are capable of doing things to make the other feel comfortable, without it feeling like an obligation; rather, they genuinely care about the other's well-being. There's a lot of trust and emotional openness; affection and kind gestures that mean the world to the other.
🤍 Mercury-Pluto aspects facilitate the possibility of discussing complex topics with each other, including those that weigh heavily on us. You feel deeply understood by each other, a little exposed but always seen. You listen to each other and support each other through tough times. With these aspects, you're the classic duo, where you both share such eye-opening and meaningful phrases that you always keep them with you.
🤍 The aspects between Mercury and Vesta make you enjoy sharing with the other. This aspect fosters sincerity and respectful communication. Your secrets are safe with each other; trust is gradually built and remains strong over the years. You can chat about your hobbies and passions with this person, and even if they don't share them, they will listen attentively and with a smile.
🤍 Venus-Uranus aspects make being with each other feel less burdensome. You love the time you spend together; not only is there affection and love, but there's also that freedom to show yourself as you truly are and never feel less loved. It's a friendship that blends sweetness and patience. You can make time for each other and plan many outings together.
🤍 Harmonious aspects between Mars-Jupiter/Uranus can have a motivating effect on the relationship. When fear sets in, all it takes is the presence of the other person. Between lectures and intense hyping, they'll remind you of your ability to achieve, the value of your skills and efforts. "I got your back." They'll always be there to support each other and give each other the push they need to go after what they want.
What about stelliums in the composite chart? How do they help in a platonic relationship?
Stellium in the 1st house: The feeling that they shed light on traits about yourself that you didn't value, motivation, and acceptance of who you are.
Stellium in the 2nd house: Reliability when facing problems, stability, and closeness (both emotional and physical).
Stellium in the 3rd house: Fluid and constant communication, many things in common and similar opinions.
Stellium in the 4th house: Warmth, feeling of comfort and the sensation of found family.
Stellium in the 5th house: Fun, playful teasing and competitiveness, feeling your inner child is happy when you’re with them.
Stellium in the 6th house: Unconditional support, someone who pays attention to your little details, and an attentive listener.
Stellium in the 7th house: Ease of coexistence, complementary opposites, and fair treatment where both are worth the same.
Stellium in the 8th house: A deep emotional bond, a ride-or-die relationship and both won't run away from your downs or darksides.
Stellium in the 9th house: Meaningful learning, experiences that will expand your mind, and both of you will guide and learn from each other on many issues.
Stellium in the 10th house: Mutual admiration and appreciation, a profound respect for the other's goals and image, being showed off by the other.
Stellium in the 11th house: Aspirations or dreams that are validated, the relief of finally being understood and a loving friendship.
Stellium in the 12th house: Sanctuary of the other when breaking down, ease of reading each other, the reflection of the other.
