I got the idea to make some 'knock-off' sonic cast members from the RTVS sonic sub marathon, which was only a couple weeks ago! Everything about Rocket and her friends are still very in development and subject to change, but everything as follows is as best I got so far!

✨- How did you come up with the OC’s name? How do any of us do anything? I thought it sounded cool!

🌼- How old are they? (Or approximate age range) General young adult age range? Old enough to join the military, not old enough to rent a car. May change as I develop the world more, but I tend to prefer having adult characters when developing them.

🌺- Do they have any love interest(s)? Rocket has a few crushes, mainly on Frost the Chinchilla, but nothing she's ever acted on anything. The real scoop is that her rivalry with Powder the Rabbit tends to be very flirtatious at Rocket without really being reciprocated. She gets really flustered about it and then fires her lasers haphazardly, which makes her easy to dodge to beat in a fight, which was always Powder's plan. Syrup the Fox, the only member of the team that is younger than Rocket, might also have a small crush on the rat and tries to get her attention from time to time.

Zip and Sonic are always butting heads over who's the fastest, Posie and Amy are gossiping, Boomer and Knuckles can go head to head in a yelling match, but as far as the parallels go, Zip and Tails are the most obviously different of the counterparts, and any time she needs to work together with him to solve some sort of problem (because they're both the smartest ones in any room), she always feels out of her element. He's a baby, why is he so smart? This is horseshit.

❤️- What is one of your OC’s best memories? After her very first fight with Zip, she really thought he'd have just finished her off and been off on his day, but he let her go and promised to be friends if she ever stopped being evil and junk. She really assumed she'd never amount to much more than a henchman, but Zip showed her she was capable of so much more than that.

✂️ - What is one of your OC’s worst memories? Being a henchman. Feeling like a cog in the bio-machine that is the Deville empire. She's glad she got out of that.

🙌- How many sibling does your OC have? Two! Rumble and Riot the Lab Rats, two more of Dr. Egg Head's experiments. Rumble fought Zip in Stage 2 and Riot fought Zip in Stage 3, both of them in special vehicles that did a poor job of stopping him in his tracks. The three of them also fused in Stage 5, Freaky Franken Labs, where Zip had to fight them as the Ratmalgam King. After Zip's first adventure, when Rocket became his sidekick, those two kind of faded into side character obscurity, but they were seen in the audience of the Grey Airzone stage of Zip the Fighters, cheering with a few Devil Eggs and Impiz.

🍎 - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like? Biological parents? No idea. Dr. Egg Head is kind of an adoptive mom, though, and Rocket hates her! They fight all the time and try to shoot each other with lasers.

🧠 - What do you like most about the OC? She's very funny XD. Sometimes she acts as the straight man (ironic) to Zip's antics, but other times she can break down into a little neurotic mess over her own self image. I like imagining her in scenarios and seeing if she's the cool head who solves the problem or the only one in the room screaming her head off.

✏️ - How often do you draw/write about the OC? She started off as a one-off joke doodle and I have not shut up about her and her setting since. So.

💎 - Do you ever see yourself killing off the OC? No, this group of OCs is supposed to be fun and silly and I don't see any of them dying for real. Zap might die for one panel of a comic and then come back on the next page as a send-up of SA2 -> Sonic Heroes, but other than that no one dies.

💀- Does your OC have any phobias? Thunder.

🍩 -Who is your OC’s arch-nemesis or rival? Her enemy is Dr. Egg Head and her various goons and schemes. She's also sometimes enemies with characters like Zap and the Spooky Squad and the Retro Bandits, but her Rival is Miles Tails Prower. She is constantly compared to him, by both the framing device of the story and herself, and he's not even fully grown yet, so he could only ever get smarter from here. She is determined to outpace and overcome his influence, even if it involves some… underhanded methods.

It’s disappointing when art depicts Fem Naruto or Fem Luffy wearing skimpier versions of their iconic outfits or with their hair long, or when their canon personalities are switched to more submissive or “feminine” ones in fic, or when they’re written to be blatant self-inserts, but when I encounter the rare art or fic that leaves their canon outfits and personalities intact with the only difference being that they were born female and are indifferent about being female, it makes me so happy and I wish more fans created content like that. I think if we had more (or any) shounen manga with well-written tomboy protagonists, especially hetero tomboy protagonists, there would be less genderwoo in fandom. Being weird, gross, and unfeminine is considered unremarkable in a man but repulsive in a woman, so I think one reason for all the straight TIFs in fandom is that they’ve never seen a man—real or fictional—show any love towards a weird, gross, unfeminine woman (whereas lesbians love women like that) so straight TIFs who are weird, gross, or unfeminine believe that identifying as gay men is the only thing that will make their natural personalities acceptable, thereby making them worthy of a man’s love. But a boisterous GNC straight woman will always be cooler and more subversive to me than a “gay trans man”. And why are there no sweet, joyful tomboys? I can’t think of the last time I saw a tomboy character who wasn’t angry, depressed, or alone. They make it seem like turning your back on femininity means giving up all your positive emotions and relationships. It’d be nice to see a tomboy actually having fun and being loved for once. It’s exactly why characters like Naruto or Luffy would be so much better as females.

no but everything you said is spot-on. i remember when i still had my fandom tumblr in high school seeing the first debates about genderswapping being ""transphobic"" and thinking literally who cares. they're not real. i was a ~trans ally~ in that i defended trans people's pronouns irl but i thought most fandom gender discourse was stupid bc there were like, actual problems in the world lol. but now that you mention it yeah, genderswapping quietly went away after that for the most part and was replaced with trans headcanons :/

but that's my big problem with shounen anyway. i don't care about male narratives and male characters. if a manga goes too long without a girl doing something meaningful, i get bored. couldn't keep up with naruto, one piece, or fairy tail bc of that. whereas like you said, these protagonists would be totally compelling if they were female.

maka albarn from soul eater was an incredible shounen protagonist imo, but every single solid concept from that manga was ultimately overshadowed by the mangaka's degeneracy and misogyny (seriously do not even talk to me abt "boob madness"). if a woman had written soul eater it would've become a classic (and if u read soul eater fanfic like i did in high school, u can see average women writing circles around that basement-dweller ohkubo hfsjkgkg) bc men just cannot write! their work only encompasses the male half of the human experience, and reading it is like trying to enjoy a 3D movie with only one eye.

shounen does an incredible disservice to boys and girls by refusing to show female characters as classic shounen protagonists. loud, gross, a little thick, nonsexualized, single-minded, everything you described abt naruto and luffy. if they made female characters like that i would actually read shounen. lol.

Ivory tightly squeezed his eyes shut as he drew his knees up, pressing his face into his thighs to completely shield out the light and pressing his hands to his ears, trying to block out the voices.

He knew Alan was going to be back soon. But he needed him now. He needed to be held. What if somehow, some way, they hurt him. Sure, they had no physical body, but it didn’t stop him from wondering, worrying.

He risked moving his hands just to pull the sheets up over his head like a little tent, pausing before pressing his hands to his ears once more as he heard the voices resume their incessant lecturing.

“No, no no, stop..” he whispered, pleading to a being that wasn’t even there. “He, he does love me, he does, he he’s just busy.” This was more to reassure himself then as a response to the constant, slightly muffled noise of a voice he still couldn’t recognise to this day..

He didn’t hear Alan’s car pull into the drive, or the front door opening and the pitter patter of the dog’s feet as it zoomed to greet Alan. He also hadn’t noticed the multiple texts and missed calls from Alan trying to reach him for the last 10 minutes.

He didn’t notice Alan at all until he was pulling him into his arms, wrapping his arms around his neck and looking up at him with teary eyes, noticing the once bright light now flicked off snd replaced with the warm glow of a rock salt lamp he himself insisted they buy in place of a nightlight. “..Alan?”

“Shh, hey, buddy, I’m right here” he said softly, brushing hair out of his face that had stuck to his skin from tears. “I’ve got you, it’s not real. Deep breaths, like we practiced.

Ivory rested his head on his shoulder, trying his best to control his breaths and eventually, by nature, his body copied Alan’s deep, even breathing, sinking into his chest as the voices faded.

“I missed you” Ivory mumbled softly after a quiet moment. Alan smiled, kissing his forehead.

“I’m here now, baby” he said, voice gentle and silvery. “I’m not going anywhere. I love you so much.”

Ivory let out a happy “mmh” in response, kissing Alan’s cheek. He grinned softly, subconsciously tracing small patterns on his back.

“I got take out from that place you like” Alan said after a while. “You’re probably starving, hm?”

Ivory’s stomach growling at his words was enough of a response. Alan chuckled softly, making his way to the kitchen, turnings lights off and turning on dim battery candles as he went. “Alright, we can eat, then we can go get some sleep, okay?”

Ivory nodded, his tail wrapped gently around Alan’s arm. “Mkay.”

Alan kissed his forehead, smiling. “I love you.”

“How much?”

“To hell and back, sweetheart.”

unless otherwise stated i have not seen any concrete historical/material ramifications of this kind of thing. sorry for my words as well, english is not my first language. i mean well :)

i mean, i guess it really depends what area of alterhumanity you're looking in.

truly recognized alterhumanity reaches back to the 70s, with the Elf Queen's Daughters being the first Otherkin and Fictionkin group. They still exist as far as I'm aware, just off the internet and in smaller real-life groups. The Silver Elves are somewhat active online I believe as well, but hard to find. Alterhumanity more as we know it - using forums, identifying as nonfictional animals and mythical beings - started happening in the 90s and 00s on forums like Alt.Horror.Werewolves.

but if you want to get into actual Alterhuman history? boy do i have some shit to tell you!

everyone in Alterhuman spaces is well-aware of Clinical Lycanthropy. the way it's thrown at many Otherkin in such a spiteful, malicious way, only to be followed by "but i say this because i care! get help!" -- yeah right /s. but did you know that Clinical Lycanthropy dates back to the middle ages in Europe, when Lycanthropy as a whole was becoming very popular?

so.... we know that trans history is often hard to find, because much of it's been erased. a lot of it is not documented because many trans folks in past generations were institutionalized almost immediately, or they had to hide it for their entire lives and die with their deadname. so, why hasn't anyone put it together that the same thing has been happening to Alterhumans for, probably, just as long? and we see similar things happening to cis women, no less than a couple decades ago. a man doesnt like you? aww, that sucks. you'll either be tried as a witch and killed or diagnosed with hysteria, be sterilized against your will, and live in an institution for the rest of your life. mental illness being weaponized against minorities is extremely well-documented. of course this form of sanism and alterhumisia has largely ceased, it still exists today, only with more social weight than life-threatening. being told that a stranger thinks you're severely mentally ill, and then maliciously told to "get help" is not a positive experience, and has historically (more recently but still documented) made many alterhumans hide their true selves - which is also not a positive experience.

i won't be talking about conservatorships and psychosis in this post, but rest assured that the diagnosis of Clinical Lycanthropy in modern day can still be life-threatening. it's just less likely to be diagnosed these days.

although the threat of Clinical Lycanthropy has less weight than it used to, there is much social weight that this has. sanism is rampant wherever we look. the idea that Alterhumans have existed since the 70s is just incorrect. we have existed since the dawn of humanity in many different ways, through many generations. but Alterhumans have been silenced, killed, unable to be our true selves until the last few decades. and even still - self-expression is a risk. i love to wear gear that helps relieve species dysphoria and make me feel more like my true-self, but wearing a tail and dog collar/etc in public often gets glares and really rude comments (which, as an afab fem-looking person, are really terrifying because i don't know if this person wants to hurt me. i also have persecutory delusions so it's kind of my worst nightmare.) lest we also forget the furries who've taken their lives because of bullying as well. but back to a slightly lighter topic - wearing gear isn't just a risk of personal safety out in public, but can you imagine if an alterhuman person wore their gear to work? or hell -- many of us also want "extreme" cosmetic surgeries as well. do you think that it will be easy to get a job after i get the bottom of my nose tattooed black to imitate a dog nose? being our true-selves often means risking our careers and livelihood. sometimes even our lives.

as for literal politics, Alterhumans have consistently been used by many conservatives as a scapegoat to spread anti-trans propaganda; "transgender? whats next, identifying as animals?" - shit like that. sadly i can't find any articles of actual politicians talking about this (im just not typing in the right buzzwords i guess. but rest assured this has happened... just.. a lot. anyone who can find these articles, please link them in a RB!) but i can find 1 blaire white video. CW obviously for transphobia and extreme alterhumisia. either way, obviously Alterhumans don't perpetrate transphobia, it takes about 1 working brain cell to figure out that anyone who blames their transphobia on Alterhumans clearly wasn't trans-friendly in the first place (because honestly, what an embarrassing excuse!)

Okay first and foremost: if this flag is wrong lemme know! I have been googling but obviously, it can only go so far in trustablity since pages can be boosted.Anyway, heres my crew of lesbian OCs,

other than Lith none of these women were born on earth, or even lived on it, so they don't have the exact same gender and physical sex rules we do, so this is more the closest term that fits all of my ladies who love ladies&enbees.up in the top left we have Lottie, she's not really into sex that much, but shes all about the romance, shes a very loving person, but deeply scared from several events leaving her with intense PTSD. She's a Frenrar native would was recruited as a demon, she was much more anthro as a human, but lost some of it on the transition to demon. She starts her story being rescued, while greatful, within a few months of world trecking she realised that this isn't what she wants to do anymore, she decides to hang out at Valentino, Skye, and Pipers traveling bar, called The Turkeys Tail. There she studies endlessly to solve a few magic issues on Franrar with the help of Valentino, it takes time but she ends up being the demon to be able to break the Elders curse, in the form of cuffs binding all lower (Hokey) demons, which prevents them running of flying away. She's a pacifist & would really like if there were no wars going on, but since she can't stop them herself, she tries to do so with her experiments. She's growing a lot as i write her and get to know her which is cool, I love when you can just almost hear a character coming together in your mind. all the inspo! Sorry for the ramble! it's good to get this stuff down when I'm in brain storming mind! Across from Lottie, top right, is lith! If you've followed me for years you know lith a bit, she was once a middle aged woman from earth, she made the transition over to demon at the end of a long fight with respiritory illness. Shes very busy lady being one of the two first primary protagonists, while she has some time to adjust to demon life, it didn't come with its own issues, and she ws soon through into a resistance for a place she arrived in not that long ago, she works it out over time. She also works out her sexuality, as a human, she pretty much burried her sexuality but the freedom of a while new world, one filled with many more queer people like her, haha.below her the giant elder Galo stands, due to her bullish attitude and hard headed focus, she struggles with this and the power battles in the Demon realm, often failing to see the wider issue as rilo refocuses her everytime she get close to figuring them out. Shes a bit new so a little under developed but shes going to be apearing quite a lot at the start of the story, then return later, so I'll have some time to get to know her. that tiny lil green triclops like thing, is Shihosu, my most precious and special baby, I wanna protect her even thou i'm the one writting the conflict in her world. She actually dies before she even apears, but shes brough back by octo ( the gold and purple octomaid lady.) and this essentially makes her speicies see her as some blessed chosen one, she has a big repuatation and after seeing and hearing other members of her speices die, she goes on the hunt for octo to find out why she was chosen...she has plenty of fun nights out during  this, so she has a good life work balance.   Shihosu is checking out Elviras butt. Elvira is basically an effigy brought to life by her father Emesh, She's a romantic at heart and can't help but coo and awe at any acts of love. Her father is very over protective and it takes a long time for her to be given true free reign of her life, shes thousands of years old by that point, so she gets out and finds the area outside her home is a semi-apocolyptic waste land filled with strange speicies and creatures, she quick decides she has left because she's to help. Her father is actually aware that he was to let her go off on her own as soon as she'd ask. He was inspired to create her while tripping hard, and the voice told him how to make her, and why he should....*mystery music.*Lastly we have the aforementioned Octo, and her wife, Beefy. By the time we meet them, they've been married a few years and they are obnoxiously in love. Beefy was earth child some how snatched onto Frenrar, she doesn'y know who did it, why, or even how, even though she meets others like her over time, none of them seem to know who did this, and no one on frenrar seems to know who could even do that. She was found in a box in the woods, no older than a year, and the Fleetfoots, a rabbit like spieces with multiple varients across frenrar, the spieces are known for strength, mentally and phsyically, hardiness, and determination, which ended up feeling perfect for Beefy, until Octovar arrived, Not immediately though. Octo was there over a summer at her father request, as she had gained a reputation for making scenes at big public royal family events, so as it is so oftem the rebelious princess is sent off out of daddys way, while he does his old boring bussiness. Beefy spent a lot of her time building and training physically, and Octovar would often be around. She's very curious as someone who lives mostly in the sea, being so far from the ocean, the lifestyles felt completely alien to one another. Over time awkward stares and little comments evolved in to longing looks and full on flirting. Always very opinionated, Octovar opened up to beefy about why she was here, why she was fighting them, and why she needed to leave before her father came back to collect her, Beefy agreed and talked about a Fleetfoot called Piper who had been here, but left after a visit from a powerful mage, beefy had kept contact via letters, so was now aware, Piper was an active member of the resistance. Beefy said her goodbyes, their culture never saw one set of parents, everyone raised everyone basically, so it was scary, but the elders reccomended beefy go try it out, reminding her, her burrow will always be there for her when or if she ever comes back.While we meet them at wives I'm 100% planning a prequel comic on them from meeting each other, to when they meet lith landon and the crew.OOf woops sorry these are meant to be silly cute lil pieces but I get all focused on lore! I'm still planningon doing more even though pride is over, I'm planning on doing one with gay men, then aro/ace. I may also do one with other mspec idnetities, but I do not have many ocs in those categories, YET! I will defo have more as more characters are created, I gotta make a whole planet of people. so theres gonna be variety.I may try and put all my trans characters together for a trans flag, but i may use the art I already made of them! tut on how to look more masculine for all your trans masc followers out there? ( nb, genderfluid, trans men )

Hi, my friend! My contour is different for every character I do, but I made a tutorial for my Ron contour, which you can find here. It's very long though (I think it's worth it personally) but here is a short little summary of the most important stuff (with gifs).

Your goal is to make your face look bigger and more square.

You want to keep your forehead contour on your temples, and pull it down and out, because you want your forehead to look big.

In terms of cheek contour, start high under your cheekbone and drag it all the way down to your chin, and shade in the space under that. Make the shading under the initial contour a little lighter. 

When doing nose contour, drag it down the sides of your nose, making sure not to get too far up the bridge. The goal is to make your nose look bigger. 

The goal with your jaw is to make it squarer, so apply the contour in an L shape. For me, this means placing the contour on my jaw instead of just underneath.

Then with your neck, take it in a v shape, from your chin to your collarbone, and then do a little u for an Adam’s apple. 

Those are the basics. I do also extend my eyebrow tails a little and make them slightly bigger, make my lips look smaller (via concealing my cupid’s bow and the bottom of my lower lip), and contour in between my lip and chin, but I don’t know how those things would read in real life, so experiment.

This makeup is intended to be used with gif quality, so it’s heavy, keep that in mind. For character reasons, I change my eye shape, do much more extreme nose contour, and generally the contour is a lot darker than I would do if I wanted to wear it out, so be aware of that. Those things really wouldn’t be needed in daily wear.  

Don’t forget blush! It makes your contour look a lot more natural. Highlight will also make it look more natural, but go lighter than you might in fem makeup. Setting spray will melt the contour into your face and make it look more natural too.  

I hope this was helpful! Keep in mind that learning how to contour takes a lot of practice, don’t stop trying! Find out what works for your face. Just remember, in masc makeup, you’re almost always go to go bigger and squarer, whereas in fem makeup you’re almost always going for smaller and softer :)
