I didn't know that was a thing, but as a trans person, I am happy it is. I usually headcanon Tails as nb, but I read one fic once that had Tails as trans femme, and that concept has not left my brain since. So occasionally, I doodle trans femme Tails. I think it would be an interesting one-shot to write as an exercise for myself.

(And Sonic in the back! I love adding hidden details to a painting. Also I did not realise Tails had the trans colours on their clothes until now. That was completely unintentional. I just like that colour palette for clothes)

Also, the tablet looks normal as hell because I remembered Tails had a tablet, but I couldn't find a reference for it until way later, when I saw an old article with promotional art with Tails on it from Sonic Colours. I now know to look up that game for reference, but it was too late.

I made the illustration irl on the train to relax and finished it at home. I did the background on my drawing tablet today because I wanted to paint. The Galaxy print leggings were a colouring mistake I turned around. Initially, they would be just black leggings, but I'm glad I made the mistake because those Galaxy print leggings came out so well!

Design notes under the cut:

For Draculaura I couldn’t really think of any way to improve on her design (can’t improve upon perfection!) so it was less of a redesign and more of a possible alternate look

I looked at a lot of different goth and sweet Lolita dresses for inspo and ended up landing somewhere in between

I shortened her pigtails and tried to make them imitate the shapes of bat wings

Her umbrella I pretty much kept as is

I ended up mostly borrowing from her gen 1 design, but referenced gen 3 here and there as well

Her figure is obviously more petite, I also wanted to make her a bit chubbier but it isn’t really that noticeable. If I go back and do revisions I’ll have to fix that

This Draculaura is a trans girl and is either straight or bi, I couldn’t decide so let’s say she’s questioning! I haven’t seen the new series but from what I hear she’s half Thai so I’ll keep that

For Frankie I wanted to take the more modern design of gen 3 and add a bit of the edgy, Avril Lavigne-esque pop punk feel from gen 1

I kept gen 3 Frankie’s side shave but changed the shape of their hair to be a bit more dynamic

I also kept gen 3’s metal leg because I like it :)

I brought in some more of the red accents that gen 1 Frankie has, plus the yellow accents from gen 2 (which ended up being the only thing I borrowed from gen 2 LOL)

Asymmetry and mismatching lengths were key!!

My Frankie is pan, non-binary, and femme-leaning in their presentation but uses strictly they/them pronouns. Also they’re Jewish because I’m Jewish and I say so

Clawdeen’ s outfit I ended up struggling with the most. I wanted her to be fashionable in the way gen 1 is, but in a slightly more modern alternative kind of way

I wanted to give her a bit of an art hoe aesthetic, which only really ended up showing in the pants, which I imagined she painted and patched up herself

Besides that I gave them curlier hair, more akin to gen 3, and a tail (I was going to add more wolfy features, like a dog nose and fur tufts on the cheeks and elbows, but I didn’t like the way it looked so I took it out)

My Clawdeen is a lesbian demi-girl and uses she/they pronouns :D they’re also Afro-Latina obv

stone femme: stone butch/femme are just describing gender presentation but also how they participate in sex. stone butches only give sexual acts/do not allow their genitals to be touched, and the opposite for stone femmes. do not use this term to describe minors oh my god

they/them pronouns: this is about how people were saying that because eggman and shadow used they/them to refer to past/future pronouns, they're canonically bi. wrong and infuriating for several reasons. I explain here more but basically: you know that gay men and lesbians can and do use they/them for partners, too, right? you know that gay men and lesbians use pronouns that don't "match" their gender exist, right?

re: tags on prev post, i lied about not having any internally felt sense of gender. i feel gender euphoria when:

- engaging in faggotry (love seeing my angular hairy body in femme clothing, and feel significantly more masculine in the context of my attraction to men)

- when it's funny to be a man

- when i get to scare the shit outta cis men by unexpectedly & abruptly dropping the masc mask to fuck w/ their gender hangups

- when meeting Softboys, cause often there's this muscle of kneejerk performativity cis guys have had drilled in since childhood that unclenches around me when they learn i'm trans and it's beautiful. it's hard to explain but for example; my housemate's boyfriend, an absolutely jacked 6'3" woodworker who wears big clompy cowboy boots, sometimes shyly & politely asks me gender questions and we bond over how fucked up and pointless the Intricate Rituals™ are. or my dad, early in my transition, earnestly asking me if he was a woman because he's always felt more emotional and nurturing than he was supposed to as a man. i asked him if he felt like a woman at all, if he wanted to be one, explained dysphoria to him for context. he thought about that for a long moment and said no. so i was like well then i think that just means you're a man with a big heart.

- when i get to be a gentleman and/or model healthy nurturing supportive masculinity, especially rewarding with kids & old ladies (shout-out to the grandmother & grandson who flagged me down on the street once because "his mama told him boys can't have long hair, but look at you! that's just not true")

Description: A cozy lakeside single story wooden cabin in a large forest in rural Michigan(pulled from a childhood memory). Slightly whimsical, think Cosmo Sheldrake. Do you have any LGBTQ+ headcanons for pride month? :)

I do, so many! Let's see how many I can list! As we all know, gender and sexuality is a spectrum, and there's no one way to classify just everyone into little bubbles. That's what makes us as humans so amazing. I made "groups" below for those interested in certain "categories", but if anyone has particular asks, I can try and assist.

I mostly stuck to notable cats people would recognize rather than getting a bit more obscure, so do ask if you want specifics. If I have mistakenly used wrong pronouns in the past for certain characters, I apologize as it may either be old, or I sometimes slip because no nonbinary cats are really in the books using said pronouns, but I get used to them nonetheless.

He SUCKS at expressing his emotions. He does not know what he is feeling. Ever. This leads to misunderstandings with everyone, especially Bdubs since he is very vocal about his own feelings.

He's nonbinary and gender-non-conforming in a way :333

He sometimes chases his own tail when he's in a silly mood and forgets that he in fact has a tail. He falls over and whimpers because he got dizzy. (sometimes the fault of too much redstone)

HE IS 100% A SCENE KID. Perhaps even an emo kid. He had raccoon tails as a teenager and wore heavy eyeliner and homemade tripp nyc trousers since his parents wouldn't buy him a pair

There's always something off about his construction work. When he lived in the monolith basement he sound proofed it, but somehow it only soundproofed it to him, Bdubs could still hear what he was doing down there. Etho has no idea how that is even possible.

He got his face scar as a child, but doesn't remember how he got it. All he knows is that it didn't heal properly so now he has a semi-split lip which he is very self-conscious about, hence why he wears the mask. Bdubs is most likely the one of the few people who have seen him without his mask since he trusts him the most.

You know, he could get his lip fixed via surgery, but he is afraid of doctors and needles and syringes and the idea of someone putting him under anesthesia, so he'd rather not.

Oh and also he has dust and pollen allergies. Because of course he does. :) Good luck with that Etho!!! The mask does help.

His sleep schedule is awful. He goes to sleep in the middle of the night if not the morning, sometimes he forces himself to pull allnighters which end up with him being out of commission for an entire day -- he hates it. He needs to be productive and do things.

This also means he eats redstone for extra energy. It makes his heart race and sometimes makes him shaky but he doesn't care. He thinks it tastes quite nice. But again which redstoner doesn't consume redstone for the fun of it...

HE'S SEASONAL. He sheds fur on his ears and tail in spring and grows a thicker layer on during autumn.

AS FOR MY OC.... Let's do June because I've been thinking about him a lot lately :heart:

He goes by all pronouns, he doesn't care what you call him since he doesn't know what gender is. If he was born into genZ he would ID as non binary or a trans femme, but since this is the 80s he does not know if to call him that or not. He's just June <3

June isn't his legal name, his legal name is Julian. Boys at his school would call him Julia because of how feminine he was. That same group would become his close group of friends who would drag him everywhere. He did not know if they were doing it out of malice to make fun of him and put him in weird situations or because they genuinely liked him. One of the boys 100% had a crush on him.

His dad was a college professor teaching English, his mom was a nurse. This meant that they were barely home as his dad had work quite far from home and his mom did long hours. Since his parents were quite distant, it also distanced him from them. He'd rather call his beloved Nanny his family than his actual parents.

He developed an eating disorder in middle school which has carried out throughout his life, with recovery and relapse over and over and over again. Age 40 his heart gave out and he had a cardiac arrest. Luckily he could be resuscitated but it left him with short term memory problems and other issues.

June loooves her band mates. He'd do anything for George and Lydia. He and George would share the bed if possible and cuddle together since they were both severely touch starved. This continued after they both found life partners since everyone was ok with it.

She has autism that was undiagnosed till late adulthood when his partner forced him to therapy for his eating problems.

June has insomnia, so when he finally did fall asleep during tour Lydia and George would make sure to be as quiet as possible to not wake her.

He met his life partner Lawrence on their american tour in late 80s. They met at a bar and June dragged him back to the tourbus afterward. June was instantly starstruck with him and refused to let him go so they spent a few years sending each other letters and meeting up every now and then till Lawrence moved to the UK to live with him. Law calls June his 'girlfriend' and 'wife' infront of his friends which makes June melt inside. He will never get enough of kissing Lawrence. <3 They're disgustingly cute together. George doesn't get how Lawrnece is so patient with him... George also didn't like Lawrence in the beginning bc it felt like he was stealing his best friend. Lydia couldn't stop teasing him about how ''ohhh you like your little June <333 you love himm<333" which pissed him off. Anyway. I'm getting carried away T_T

June can be very annoying and stubborn. She needs to get her way always and forever, and gets upset when she doesn't. When he's upset with someone he tends to just ignore the other person, giving them silent treatment, even if he's still cuddling up to them. Sometimes when he's very overwhelmed he does simply shut down and loses speech for a bit until he feels better.

He has always carried his childhood teddy along with him everywhere -- to tour, to new homes, on trips. It is his comfort item that is always with him, even if hidden at the bottom of the suitcase.

Ill be honest, I have disliked Spot from day one of playing the game for calling their squad full of women (and midnight I guess) clowns. If Spot was trans fem maybe my opinion would change. But yes the game needs more hyena girls.

Also I’m not a furry and tend to not really like most of the characters that have full on animal heads, but I do think the game should have more of them, especially women. It’s bizarre and kinda disappointing going through Archosauria visual novel sections where the men have crocodile heads and the women are just humans with tails
