Transformers: Mercy shows the best and the worst of both the Autobots and the Decepticons. Some characters are purely horrible while others have justifiable reasons for their actions. The messiness exists to show why the War has gone on for so long and why making peace is still difficult.

These are key characters in the Space Adventure storyline!

Sixshot became very lax out of all the generals and lowkey started to like Star Saber whom he was meant to fight. So he doesn't provide the raw Decepticon rage!

Because TFOne has put the subject on my mind (and because Hasbro's finally making proper toys of the Thirteen), I've been having thoughts about how you might do a Transformers series about the age of the Thirteen Primes

I think to do it you might have to lose the "divine first creations of Primus" origin

Like that works for when the 13 are just backstory to present day characters, but when the 13 are the focal characters, I would go with the idea of the 13 being normal (but powerful, maybe even later being rebuilt/empowered by Primus) bots who are leaders of various states/tribes/clans/nations/kingdoms/bands/gangs/factions of Cybertron, and the focus being on unifying Cybertron against a common enemy

Specifically it is the bot who will become Prima who is charged by Primus to unify Cybertron (I picture it in a very Moses speaks to God in Prince of Egypt type way)

And as for villain, rather than going with Unicron or the quintessons, I'd like to make a lore deep cut

See I feel those to are too obvious as big bad especially if the story is about bringing Cybertron together, they're both big obvious otherworldly threats, a story about unifying Cybertron needs a more subtle threat, something that doesn't immediately and urgently force the Cybertronians to drop all their feuds and unite

I think our villain, in a sort of sauron esque role, should be Trannis, the ancient Decepticon leader from 5 faces of darkness

And maybe have Megatronus initially be a warrior servant of Trannis, but Prima's kindness and mercy leads him to switch sides

Liege Maximo on the other hand will be initially a servant/ally of Trannis only to betray him when he sees the winds blowing in Prima's favor (which also serves to hint at his own future manipulations of and betrayal of the Primes)

Other minions of Trannis could be Jhiaxus-his science guy, Strika and Obsidian-tie into their status as legendary generals thats brought up in Beast Machines, oh and because Nexus is here, Trannis will need some kind of combiner/giant monster servant for Nexus to fight, so I choose monstructor

Sometimes, as an old fart Transformer fan, I remember that Strika had a different Conjunx Endura before Lugnut was invented. His name was Obsidian and he was dignified and brilliant.

Now don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against Lugnut, he’s entertaining and his endless love, admiration and loyalty to his Wifey are all commendable qualities, but sometimes I miss and feel sorry for Obsidian being majority forgotten by the fandom.

He too was a great spouse for Strika, just as devoted and respectful towards her and her abilities. They were true equals as well as life-partners.

Personally, I think they’d make a fantastic thruple! The dynamic would be epic, all three of them a powerhouse on the battlefield and an inspiration to others as a family unit. They’re enemies trembling at the very thought of facing their teamwork, their compatriots sighing in envy of their relationship “I want that someday!”

And all three are devoted to Cybertron’s well-being and future. Obsidian even says in Beast Machines that his loyalty is to Cybertron and it’s citizens, whatever is best for the planet and it inhabitants is who he will follow, and he had come to the conclusion that that was Megatron (of that series). So in a way, he and Lugnut already have a lot in common but are different enough that they could work so well as both comrades and spouses.

In addition to this, David Kaye, is the voice actor for Beast Wars/Beast Machines Megatron, and he’s the actor for Transformers Animated Lugnut. I just find this a delightful Easter Egg for fans of both series since Obsidian found the first of these two characters a worthy leader.

Strika could have two hubbies! She should have two hubbies! Motion carried, head canon accepted, meeting adjured.

Transformers Rock Lords Reimagining Concept

I had a fun idea that may or may not become a short fanfic, but expect art in the future. Remember how in another post I mentioned the Botbots which are Transformers who came to be due to a blue moon case and they inanimate objects? Also, this is an obscure fact in Transformers lore, but it is not the first time such Transformers existed. There were the Rock Lord back during the run of the GoBots who were Transformers whose alt modes were rocks, metals and gems.

I think that considering the success of BotBots, maybe a reimagining of the Rock Lords could work! Here's mine...

My Transformers: Prime version of Beast Machines Obsidian for my game Transformers: Mercy. He is a very noble-sounding Decepticon who flips the script on the Autobots during his trial with Strika. My trial? Nope, your trial now. He rips apart the Autobots, letting them know their faction's faults.

Design for omega doom

A vehicon designed after famous decepticon air commander obsidian and the xenomorph, he is loyal only to the dream of a vehicon nation and his wife alpha strike, he wants to get nightbird's head for practical purposes, using her programing to upgrade the vehicon computer mind

Omega doom is very similar to his decepticon inspiration. A logical strategist although obsidian had a similar level of fame that strika did, he often would work behind the scenes and try to stay out of sight, traits that carried over to omega, a quiet loner who only speaks when spoken to, he issues out orders from the comfort of the sky, while providing air support to his troops down below

Omega doom was made with the sole duty to serve the interests of the vehicons, and as one of their new leaders alongside alpha strike he wants them to achive their full potential and eliminate any would be threats before they emerge, as such he targets the autobots and decepticons for covert attacks in hopes of crippling their offensive abilities and stealing resources to upgrade the vehicons with more advanced tech

While he is cunning and brutal, alpha strike is brutal and cunning and leads full frontal assults on the same targets as any of omega's infiltration mission to distract their enemies and draw out their forces. The two of them are a well oiled machine and can only be defeated when separated or overpowered, because they can out do pretty much everybody else in, any other scenario.

"Monster" from Distant Lands: Obsidian works so well as a Cygate theme

It works especially well for my headcanoned version of Cyclonus—who is the one singing if it wasn't obvious.

In my version of events, he was a cybertronian from the golden age, a crew member of Nova Prime's ship, the Proudstar. When the Proudstar was sucked into the Dead Universe, Nova Prime sent Cyclonus to bring the Matrix back to Cybertron because he was the fastest person on board. Unfortunately, one of the Proudstar's engines was damaged as it got sucked in, and the resulting explosion badly damaged Cyclonus and sent him and the Matrix hurdling through space in different directions. A search party would eventually find the Matrix and return it to Cybertron, but Cyclonus's body was already long gone. His floating corpse eventually crossed paths with Unicron, who restored Cyclonus's spark and upgraded his body in return for becoming his herald.

Eons later, Rodimus Prime uses the Matrix of Leadership to destroy Unicron to save Earth and Cybertron. As a side effect, the heralds of Unicron (including but not limited to Nemesis Prime, Galvatron, and Cyclonus) are all freed from his dominion. Cyclonus begins to try to reintegrate into Cybertronian society after so many years. The Great War is newly over, and Cybertron is still rebuilding. The details of what goes on next are yet to be worked out, I'm not sure if Rodimus Prime will stay on Cybertron or set out on the Lost Light, but in any case, I know that Cyclonus and Tailgate will meet soon after Unicron's destruction and their relationship will play out from there broadly the same as it did in IDW.
