They’re not Tattoos! - Yang Jae-Won x Reader
— F! Reader | Soulmate Au! | Baek Kang-Hyuk’s nickname for reader is ‘Gentle Hands’ | 1.7k+ words | I’m sorry for not posting! End of year projects & test are hard. | Enjoy!
Request!: hi! I read your most recent yang Jae-won fic, and I really like your writing. by any chance, could I request a oneshot (not headcannons though) where yang Jae-won and reader have soulmate marks and when they meet for the first time in the hospital, they find out that they're each other's soulmate? @falsedivide
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The place Dr. Baek had dragged Yang Jae-Won to wasn’t all that bad, considering it was located in the heart of Seoul. Unless it was near the hospital, there was no way that Dr. Baek would take anyone out. Normally no amount of bribery or guilting could make him voluntarily dress up and go out to eat with his pupil, but today was not normal.
It was Yang Jae-Won’s twenty-first birthday.
Meaning that by 23:59 tonight, if a name, string, or anything, didn’t appear somewhere on one of his arms, he was destined to be alone. Yang Jae-Won knew what it meant, of course. He knew soulmates existed, and everyone had a different type of bond.
Park Gyeong-Won and his soulmate had a phrase written on their shoulder. He couldn’t even think about how nerve-wracking it must have been for him. To listen carefully to make sure no one says the words written on his shoulder blade. Making sure no one saw it and tried to say it back to him.
Only for him to meet his soulmate as he administered anesthesia to her during a surgery. Yang Jae-Won remembers the face he made under his mask. The horror and fear that struck the anesthesiologist when he saw the phrase written on her skin. The same words he said to her as she passed out on the stretcher.
Dr Baek and his soulmate shared a red string of fate, something visible to everyone. He said when he was in the Black Hawks, he didn’t see his string when he turned 21. However when he came to the NHUH, he noticed the string during a surgery. Pulling slightly as he worked. Following it after work, he met his soulmate at a small café. It felt so simple, but perfect for them.
But back to Yang Jae-Won and Baek Kang Hyuk, if Dr. Baek’s idea was to get Yang Jae-Won to be comfortable in every way possible. Then.. he was doing a horrible job at it. A few empty plates of appetizers sat on the table, along with the savory aroma of Jajangmyeon and Japchae sat in front of the both of them. Yet, Yang Jae-Won couldn’t help but glance down at the clock every few minutes, mentally preparing himself for the biggest disappointment of his life.
It’s not like he didn’t think he had a soulmate, he just didn’t think that he or she would be interested in him.
Considering the fact that he never had a consistent schedule, never knew when was going to get home or leave for work, hell sometimes he didn’t even come back home for 3 days straight. Sure he had money, but that definitely wasn’t enough. And that’s not how he would want his relationship to be built off of.
“Stop glancing down at it” Dr. Baek’s voice rang out suddenly, his chopsticks pointing at his pupil. “The more you look at it, the more you’re going to get nervous” He laughed.
“I just.. want to see what I get. Hopefully it’s a string like yours. Then I don’t need to constantly be living on the edge of what if I meet them during a surgery or something.” Jae-Won muttered, looking down again. Turning his arm slightly to look around for any changes.
His superior only sighed, reaching over and flicking his forehead, “Anus, the red string of fate sucks. If anything, just pray for a countdown. Also, your food is getting cold so eat.” Baek Kang-Hyuk muttered, jerking his head towards his bowl in front of him before going back to eating. Glancing at the flat screen TV behind the bar across the room.
Yang Jae-Won sighed, eating slowly before glancing between the man in front of him and the screen. “You know.. I wonder what they’re like. Quiet, gentle? I’m not sure anymore. Fuck.. I don’t even want to think about how they’re going to react to my schedule. It’s not even a schedule anymore.” He pauses, to stuff his mouth with Jajangmyeon. Grabbing a napkin to wipe his mouth. Running a hand through his hair and beginning to ramble.
“Yang Jae-Won-”
“I barely have time to eat some days! Just imagine they’re a like a CEO and wants to spend a lot of time together- I don’t think I’ll even be able to see them during the day,” He mutters, running a hand down his face as he groans. Leaning back in his seat and sighing.
“Jae-Won!,” Baek Kang-Hyuk puts a hand on his pupil’s shoulder, gripping him like a vice. His eyes never left his arm. “Your soulmate.”
Both of them are silent for a moment. Then Jae-Won sighs, shaking his head leaning back further in his seat. “Damn, you’re good at this. Yeah it’s about the soulmate thing” He chuckles looking up at the ceiling with a chuckle.
“You fucking idiot. No wonder why I call you Anus,” Baek Kang-Hyuk sighs, slapping him on the back of the head and forcing him to look at his arm. “Look at your arm dumbass!”
Watching as Yang Jae-Won stopped to look at him in the eye, his brain clearly trying to catch up with what his superior was insinuating. But when he finally followed his gaze, his eyes blinked once, then twice, then let out a exasperated laugh. Watching as a tall rectangle etched with delicate florals, their lines dancing against the dark backdrop. Small branches woven between the flowers and ending at the edges of the rectangle.
Jae-Won looked down at the tattoo in disbelief, “I.. it’s beautiful.” He chuckled softly, looking down at it with admiration. Before he coughed and looked around. “Fuck.. I wonder what hers looks like.” He mumbled.
Baek Kang-Hyuk quickly slid his card to pay for the dinner towards a waiter before looking back at the tattoo. “Must be the opposite of yours, the flowers filled, and a blank background?” He guessed before ruffling Jae-Won’s hair. “Good luck finding her. I bet she’ll be happy to meet you.”
Tumblr media
3 Months Later
It’s been 3 months since Yang Jae-Won has seen his newest tattoo. It’s been.. a problem. Considering the fact that Tattoos aren’t naturally accepted in Korea. But it helps that it was on his forearm, usually covered by his coat. No news about his soulmate though, sometimes he would sit on a chair and just look up at the sky and wonder if the gods were playing a trick on him or something. Giving him a tattoo with no match, laughing at him every time he glances at a patients and their relatives forearm and sighing every time there was nothing or something different there.
That’s what he was doing right now. Sitting on the floor of his room, staring up at the ceiling and mentally preparing himself for another disappointing day. That is.. until a call rang out. His phone buzzing repeatedly as a familiar but dreadful chime played. Baek Kang-Hyuk has two reasons why he would call. One. Emergency Surgery. Two. He’s giving him more work to fill out. Sometimes he called for both.
Except.. when he picked up the call, news that he wasn’t expecting to hear left his superiors lips from the other side of the phone.
“I found your soulmate. I suggest you run to the presentation hall. She’s waiting for you. And I think you’ll like her. I mean, I like her that’s why. Not in that way, but she’s a good fit.” Dr. Baek announces, before hanging up the call. Making sure to text him the presentation hall room number.
And for the first time, Yang Jae-Won ran through NHUH, not to save a life, but to meet his soulmate.
Tumblr media
Out of breath and thoroughly exhausted, Yang Jae-Won almost slid past the doors of the presentation room. Tripping slightly as he hurried over to Dr. Baek as he laughed at him from beside the door.
“You need to work on your stamina. But anyway, she’s a nurse that I’ll be bringing into the Trauma Center. I’ll put her under your watch for the first few weeks. But anyway. Don’t freeze,” He hums, opening the door and looking inside. “Yo, Gentle Hands! Come here. I have someone I want you to meet.” He yells, watching as you jump at the sudden command and quickly grab your notebook and jog over.
As you walk out of the room, you meet eyes with Yang Jae-Won. Instinctively glancing at his forearm and gasping when you notice a near replica of your own. Glancing between his eyes and his arm, you smile. Waving with a polite smile.
“This is Yang Jae-Won. He’s a fellow Trauma Surgeon and you will be working with him during your first weeks at the trauma center. And, as you can see. He is your soulmate.” Dr Baek explains, motioning towards both of your tattoos. “I’ll leave you two to become more aquatinted. And please, get to know each other before making it official.” He nods before patting his pupil on the shoulder with a wink and walking away.
“So.. I look forward to working with you!” You smile softly, looking up at him and reaching out to shake his hand. “I’m ( Name ), if you’d like, we can go out and get some food? You look like you need it,” You chuckle, nodding towards the exit door across the hall.
Yang Jae-Won only lets out a soft chuckle followed by a shaky breath out and reaches out to shake your hand. Blinking in surprise when he felt how gentle your touch was, followed by admiring the silky sweet voice you had. Fuck.. he had it bad already. “Y-yeah, I could go for some food. Any preferences?” He smiled, slowly pulling back but still savoring the feeling of your touch on his.
“None that I’m aware of,” You smile, beginning to find your place aside him and walking towards the door.
He only nods, and quickly opens the door for you and subconsciously moves to gently place his hand on your lower back. Before realising what he was doing and flushes, looking away from you and towards the street ahead.
“Go ahead, I don’t mind.” You laugh, reaching out to grab his hand and beginning to swing it slowly between the two of you. “I look forward to getting to know you more. Just try not to be so shy.” You chuckle, sending him a wink before beginning to follow his lead. “Wherever you think is good. I don’t mind.”
Yang Jae-Won only quietly nods, setting path towards a nearby ramen restaurant. And oh gods. He’s so happy that he was blessed with this tattoo on his arm.

Trauma Code: A Hero in Love
Tumblr media Tumblr media
genre: workplace romance, comedy, mutual pinning, slow-burn, banter, suggestive
A series of one-shot stories between Dr. Baek Kang Hyuk (Ju Jihoon) and Dr. Song Hye Joo (Song Hyekyo)
When Dr. Baek’s former med school rival, Dr. Song Hyejoo, joins the trauma center team, his usual composure is shaken—just a little competitive, and maybe a little shy. As they face emergencies together, they learn to work in sync, and they rediscover something they never dared explore before.
This will be a series of one-shot stories between Dr. Baek Kang-hyuk and Dr. Song Hye-joo (my OC; played by Song Hyekyo, because why not. Also I badly need the casting directors to pair them for a romcom or melo drama together 👉🏻👈🏻).
It’s not a story where everything is in chronological order or a continuation of what happened to the previous chapters. It’s like a series of moments.
Might include a chapter with their backstory in university and when they met again after many years when Dr. Song is introduced as the new addition to the trauma center team before I upload a series of chapter moments between them ><
I tried to keep Dr. Baek Kang-hyuk’s character as similar and accurate as I can, but you know what, 🎀 I’m just a girl 🎀 who wants to see him be a little clumsy and shy around his (secret) crush. So if it’s a little inaccurate or if you think it’s out of character, then I’m so sorry asdfsghjkg ;—; but isn’t it fun to imagine the cool (sexy) hot-tempered doctor become a fool in love for someone? Like a total loser. Frankly it’s my favorite character trope. He’s all mean and scowly with other people, and then he absolutely melts and malfunctions when a beautiful, strong, and intelligent woman (a.k.a his long-time crush) comes near him.
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy it!!🥹 I’ve already written A LOT of random chapters. And I might also include a little bit of nsfw, or maybe just suggestive, IDK I have no experience in writing sensual scenes, I feel like it’s gonna sound cringey when I do it wish me luck🥲👍🏻
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter List:
1.1 Early Symptoms of Trouble 1.2 Side Effects May Include... 1.3 Cardiac Complications
Flashback 1: Brief Encounters at Med School Flashback 2: Reunion in the Trauma Bay Flashback 3: Check His Vitals— She's Back
2.1 Diagnosis - Obvious 2.2 Late Night Consultations - Catching Up
3.1 A Prescription for Lunch 3.2 White Coats & Warm Blankets
4.1 The Mom & Dad of the Trauma Center 4.2 Code Blue - Parental Unit 4.3 When Dr. Dad Noticed 4.4 When Dr. Mom Noticed

I just watched Trauma Code, because it was short and I wanted something I could zip through.
Fun Kdrama. Zippy and fast paced and the stories and characters were nice. The medical effects were good too. They looked real enough that I told @abarero I didn’t think she could do this one. The show didn’t skimp on the level of blood and guts you’d probably see in a trauma center, and none of it looks goofy. Also the sounds ew lol.
ML is kind of an impossibly prodigious Gary Stu, but no more so than someone like Gregory House, and less so than someone like Shen Yi from Under the Skin. That’s just pretty typical for this genre. He was enjoyable to watch!
I liked the nurse lady best.

Trauma Code
Tumblr media
This is an 8 episode netfilx series.
I finished watching it in 2 weeks ( i was super busy). But the series was good. The Characters were very different from what i have seen in other dramas.
Tumblr media
I also enjoyed watching the mentor - student dynamic that they have, gave multiple learnings and comedic moments.
Tumblr media
As the episodes went on, I felt more and more close to the characters and hoped for their success. Keep in mind there are many wtf moments, that make you question your sanity.... but sometimes you need such kind of content and then again, there is only so much you can do in an 8 episode series.
It was fun and fresh, If you are a fan of hospital dramas this one should be on your list.

I'm going to be critical for a minute because I would like to talk about kdramas' most prevalent disease: the overexplaining. You've heard of showing instead of telling? Get ready for showing, showing again, telling, telling again, and showing while telling!
I'm unsure whether it helps with the runtime (gotta reach that 60 minute mark somehow!) or if it's just laziness on the writers/directors' part but the following have become my biggest pet-peeves:
repetitive flashbacks
obvious and unnecessary dialogue
off screen narration
info dumps
characters talking to themselves (this one is not expanded on below lol, it's too specific)
Sometimes, the same points are hammered in so many different ways, it truly feels absurd. Do they think we can't understand basic parallels?
I started watching Trauma Code and The Witch, and I think they both are perfect candidates to use as examples to illustrate my argument. Note: to be fair, I've seen way worse, but they're the two most recent shows I've watched with these issues, so my memory is fresh, that's all.
It's very easy to pinpoint the exact moment a scene goes overboard in terms of storytelling. In Trauma Code, most of the key scenes where character development happens are not allowed to just simply play out without being bogged down with one, or several, of the pet peeves mentioned above. It saps any subtlety and lightness out of the scene—thus impacting overall pace and rhythm.
EXAMPLE 1 - TRAUMA CODE, EPISODE 2 (around 30min mark)
The two titular doctors, Dr Baek and Dr Han are fighting over Jae-won, a junior doctor, who they want as their protégé. Jae-won is overwhelmed about having to make a choice and can only stand by and watch as the two seniors battle it out childishly.
Tumblr media
This is how the scene unfolds (and where it should have ended):
The seniors are verbally arguing
Cuts to the nurses gossiping about who Jae-won will choose between credentials (Dr Han) or skills (Dr Baek)
Cuts back to the office where Jae-won has trouble choosing and his gaze drifts to all the diplomas, success photos, and other achievements hanging on the wall of Dr Han's office
Dr Baek, the trauma expert, quietly notices Jae-won being swayed by all that.
Tumblr media
Pause! This is where I think the scene should have gone differently. No more dialogue on the subject, just have Dr Baek scoff and leave, seemingly disappointed in Jae-won for hesitating; straight to the next scene, this time in Dr Baek's office. Why? Because in Dr Baek's office, he has his own "success wall shelf," with his photos and memorabilia, which we've seen him start to unpack a little bit before in the episode. And his photos obviously tell a very different story, and paint a different picture. The juxtaposition of the two scenes (actually, the three scenes, if you count the one with him unpacking) would have been enough to SHOW why Jae-won—who has followed Dr Baek out of Dr Han's office—would choose this doctor instead of the other one. But they chose the opposite of being subtle.
Instead, this is how the actual scenes goes - before he leaves, Dr Baek:
loudly and superfluously remarks, à propos of the wall, "Not one photo with a patient..."
then, follows a brief dialogue exchange where he berates Jae-won for having trouble choosing—Dr Baek prefers a doctor who will not waste precious time like that when life is on the line.
That first point is completely superfluous, as we've already seen Dr Baek's unpacking the photos AND we will see him reminisce about the people he saved right after, when he's in his own office with Jae-won. The second part—the dialogue—can easily be transposed to the next scene for better flow, in Dr Baek's office, where he goes over his achievements and Jae-won can relate to him, finally.
It's hard to explain, but if you watch the two scenes in their entirety, I think it's pretty clear how they could be edited differently to make sure the extra stuff doesn't hinder the story, and to avoid being so heavy-handed, almost "didactic." The audience naturally infers things; the "clues" are there. I GET IT. Don't explain it to me, this is a TV show, not a school presentation.
EXAMPLE 2 - TRAUMA CODE, END OF EPISODE 2
Tumblr media
This scene was a nice way to (almost) end the episode and signify the beginning of Jae-won's start as a trauma surgeon, following his new mentor's lead.
Tumblr media
The problem is... the scene doesn't end there. It continues with the double combo of off screen dialogue over flashbacks of scenes we've already seen—to really make sure we UNDERSTAND what we are seeing, I guess.
Because we've seen Jae-won sprint several times, in different scenes, long enough and with a focus on Dr Baek (via reaction shots), it is shown that Jae-won has the potential to be a good trauma surgeon and that Dr Baek notices it. The running is used, judiciously, as a signifier for his readiness for action, and his understanding of urgency. As the audience, we understand it's a core characteristic for Jae-won: he cares. And when Dr Baek plainly replies, "Cause you run well," it made sense! Because we have context; we can make the connection easily. A simple reaction shot of Jae-won having the expected emotion (surprise, or understanding, or whatever the script calls for) would have sufficed before moving on to the next scene. It would have been perfectly clear, and they would have kept the impact of that one-liner effect.
Instead, we get:
flashbacks with no added perspective (i.e they use the exact same shots from earlier in the show, slap a filter on it and call it a day)
Dr Baek's off-screen dialogue, "Every time I saw you, you were running." spoken directly to Jae-won and as we literally re-watch the aforementioned running flashbacks.
Right after, we get actual the closing scene for that episode: Jae-won internally monologues over a shot of him strutting behind Dr Baek as they walk through the trauma department, looking proud and ready for a new chapter in his life: (paraphrased) "Since then, I had a deep conviction in my heart. If I continue to do as I do now, and follow Dr Baek in his footsteps… I'll also become a doctor saving lives." I swear; remove that voice-over and nothing is lost: we understand exactly what is said, because we watch the action happen on screen, with NO WORDS SPOKEN. Because actors… are acting...
How tedious. How unnecessary. You know that feeling when someone says something and somebody next to them repeats the exact same thing? It's like... they just said that, damn.
EXAMPLE 3 - THE WITCH, EPISODES 1 & 2
Honestly, these first two eps were a mess of overexposition, bad pacing, and clumsy editing. They could have been condensed in one episode easily, making it more palatable.
They decided to start in the present only to spend 95% of ep1 and 2 in the past, through giant flashbacks. Why not just start your story in the past, and THEN, flashforward to the present? All the background info on characters and initial mystery can be set up in the first episode to create enough curiosity for us to watch more.
In episode 2, there is an entire flashback sequence where the female lead, Mi-jung, is experiencing shitty things (rejection at school, loneliness, fear, etc...) and Mi-jung's voice-over narrates... exactly what we're seeing on screen. Straight up, a shot of her crying over a student's death and her voice very helpfully explaining to the audience, "I felt guilty." Come on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(By the way, this scene? Already shown in episode 1, in its entirety, but from the male lead perspective. What's that? Do they use different shots? No, the same ones.)
Or a scene where classmates are gossiping and suspicious of her because it seems like bad things keep happening to boys around her + her "helpful" voice-over going, "Unusual accidents kept happening at school." Yes... we just saw that... they just said that...
Or a montage of her at school being ostracized and boys keeping a wide berth, while she drones on that, "The guys who got hurt started avoiding me..." Wow, such insight.
And the funniest moment: when her classmate tells others that Mi-jung has to be a witch, and her voice-over goes, "Someone started a rumor about me being a witch..." OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!! Who is this off-screen narration for??????
In fact, they pushed the redundancy to its extremes to the point where ENTIRE scenes are repeated (with very little extra info) from one episode to the next. Same shots/angles and everything, just pure copy/paste. There is a slow-mo scene towards the end of episode 1 that is so unnecessary long (I timed it, it's FOUR MINUTES!!!!!) I have to suspect they were short of a few minutes to fill the episode. Watching the two eps back to back left me with a profound sense of emptiness. There was a lot of fluff and no substance, in terms of story telling.
ANYWAY.
Rant over. Sometimes, a character's thoughts should remain just that, thoughts. Voice-overs are absolutely valid, but they have a place and time (just like flashbacks). They only work when used in very specific instances, and I really think they should never ever be used as a "subtitle" or "caption" for the actor's work. I don't need translation. Same thing as when the writers make the characters talk to themselves so they can explicitly voice their thoughts/feelings...
This isn't theater. I'm not sitting all the way in the back, in the dark, unable to see the stage actor's expressions, unable to hear if they don't project their voice enough. I don't need loud asides to follow along. The camera is a storytelling tool in and of itself! It doesn't need much more, I SWEAR. It doesn't even have to be the best acting lol, as long as the emotion/meaning comes through—I'll take it from there. Anything added after or over that to "clarify/explain" feels tacked on, heavy, awkward, and imposing.
Sometimes, the watching experience for a drama is akin to the creative team pulling on my arm like crazy to shove me around like a reluctant child, so I go exactly where they want me to go; whereas to me, good writing and directing strives to be subtle enough to gently pull back the curtain on its characters and story, and leave some room for interpretation. Let me explore. That's it.

Hello! I'm searching for a roleplay in the Trauma Code: Heroes on Call fandom!
I have a plot in mind, many ideas and headcanons, so I wouldn't want it all to go to waste! I search for someone who searches for a long-term roleplay partner, writes quite long replies and would like to play Dr. Baek Gang-hyeok. It would be a oc x cc roleplay, but I do double!
I can play some of the characters (including Dr. Bake himself), just ask which ones!
I roleplay both - romantic and platonic relationships. Here, for this plot I stick to platonic since my oc and Dr. Baek are a family. I do not mind writing a romantic plot for your side, though!
If you're interested - please dm me!
See you! ❤️

Love Triangle!? - Park Gyeong-Won x Reader x Yang Jae-Won
— F! Reader | Established Relationship between Park Gyeong-Won & Reader | Dr. Baek took Reader as his pupil before going to the NHUH | 1.6K words | Enjoy!
Request!: Hello! I stumbled with your blog asking some requests for you so here I am!!! Can I request a Park Gyeong Won I think his name? (The anaestheologist) with a doctor reader where they're in a secret relationship. The reader is an acquaintance of Mr. Baek because he was her mentor so she frequently visits the Trauma Center. Then, Anus (sorry I forgot his name) secretly have a crush ( not really a secret because it is so obvious ) on her. Then because of this, Gyeongwon try not to get jealous but he can't take it anymore when anus try to ask her out. That's all in requesting. You are freely to add what you want as long as you're comfortable with it. Thank you in advance already!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yang Jae-Won stood at the office door of Dr. Baek’s office at about 15:19, having an early lunch and jogged half-heartedly towards his superiors office. He hesitated, mentally running down a list of potential reasons why he may or may not get a lecture of yelled at from the man himself.
Then, the door suddenly opened, an half-amused, half-annoyed expression on Baek Kang-Hyuk’s face. “We’re you going to come in or not? You’ve been standing there for.. 3 minutes now.” He scoffed as he glanced down at his watch. Opening the door fully and glancing both down and up the hallway before tugging Yang Jae-Won into his office.
Yang Jae-Won only stuttered and nodded. Swiftly taking a seat in front of Dr. Baek’s desk. “Is this about the patient from that train incident a few weeks ago? Or morning routine this morning?” He guessed, mentally going through potential issues with routines or treatments.
“No, none of that. You’re not in trouble.” Dr. Baek laughed, watching as Jae-Won calmed down at the assurance. “Am I really that intimidating, actually. Never mind, yes. I am.” He shrugged.
Then, there was a moment of silence between the two surgeons.
“I know.” Dr Baek, suddenly said. Obviously not looking to beat around the bush.
“Huh?” Yang Jae-Won blinked in confusion. “Know? Know what?” He reached for his pen in his pocket. Proceeding to nervously click it a few times.
”You have a fat crush on our anesthesiologist and my former pupil.” He answered matter-of-factly. “If you need names, Park Gyeong-Won & ( Name ).
Yang Jae-Won dropped his pen at the sudden answer, quickly grabbing it as it clinked on the floor. “What are you talking about?” he tried to play it off. “I don’t— I mean,” He tried to retort, but the blush on his face was a dead giveaway.
”Please, don’t be embarrassed. Everyone sees how you look at them.” Dr. Baek waved his hand. Leaning back in his chair and laughing as Jae-Won shook his hands lips parting to try protest. “You think I don’t notice how nervous you get when ( Name ) helps you during morning checkups? Or how you seem to be in a daze, whenever she, or yourself, talk about Dr. Park? Not to mention you have a terrible habit of staring.”
Yang Jae-Won could feel his cheeks growing warm. He hid his face in his palms as he stared at the ground. “Is it that obvious..? I mean—I thought I was being discreet.” He muttered.
Dr. Baek laughed, leaning back in his chair before he looks back at his pupil. “No, you’re very wrong. Horribly so.” He answered, chuckling as he couldn’t help but be entertained by his flustered state. “Why don’t you just tell them?” He inquired, leaning closer to Jae-Won with a smirk.
”Are you crazy?!” He shot up from his seat, “There’s no possible way that either of them would want me!”
“Why not?”
He sighed, slumping back down on his seat again. “What chance does someone like me have with someone as kind and thoughtful as ( Name )? Or as focused and diligent as Gyeong-Won??” He whimpered, “Plus, they’re perfect for each other, which is why they’re dating already. I refuse to be the reason why they break up.” He explains, leaning back and glancing at the white ceiling of the office.
“Hm.. alright.” Dr. Baek mused, getting up from his seat and walking over. Sitting next to him, he set a comforting hand on his pupil’s back. “Even if you don’t, there’s no harm in trying. Who knows, maybe they’re open to it. Come on, we got work to do.” He shrugged. Getting up from sofa and walking towards the door.
”W-wait what!? Did you hear nothing I just said?!” Yang Jae-Won stuttered, following his superior and awkwardly stumbling out of the office.
“Yep, and personally, I don’t really care. Come on. Let’s go!” Dr. Baek shrugged, pushing Jae-Won out of the door.
If only you knew Jae-Won.. unbeknownst to Yang Jae-Won, Park Gyeong-Won and ( Name ) had confessed that they harbored the same feeling towards him. But they didn’t know how to tell the surgeon.
Tumblr media
The NHUH’s trauma center was buzzing with the usual chaos that came with a high speed collision. Worried parents or relatives flooding the center, trying to check if their loved one was okay; Screaming patients who refused to do something that they said they had to do. The usual.
Park Gyeong-Won was not paying attention to most of it.
Instead, his eyes were locked onto the far side of the trauma center, where you were busy helping Yang Jae-Won with a struggling man who refused to get a shot.
Specifically where Yang Jae-Won had his hand.
On your waist.
Out of everywhere he could of put it, it had to be there.
It was going on for way too long now—every time he glanced over, you both were still struggling. Eyes focused but obviously Jae-Won was somewhat distracted. Not knowing where to help hold him down and it didn’t help that Jang-Mi were trying to keep relatives out of the trauma center.
He could practically see the bright red blush on his cheeks and tips of his ears from space. Snapping his attention back to Dr. Baek, he nodded along as his superior ran down a list of potential anesthetics to use for the next operation. He really tried to pay attention, he really did, but then—Yang Jae-Won grabbed your hand and hip.
He knew it was for good reasons, trying to get you away from the sudden outburst of the patient who attempted to lunge at the both of you. But couldn’t he have done it a little less.. intimately?
With zero hesitation, he snapped his head and glared just in time to catch Jae-Won’s eyes.
And he could swear he was about to murder the surgeon.
“Ahem. Are you even listening?” Dr. Baek snapped, instantly grabbing the anesthesiologists attention.
“No— I mean yes. I’m sorry.” Gyeong-Won apologizes, looking up at the older man with a frustrated scowl.
“What’s up? Your girlfriend flirting with someone?” Dr. Baek laughed, quickly picking up speed to head towards the operation room.
“No, someone flirting with my girlfriend. More specifically, your pupil.” He growled, the moment replaying in his head over and over again. “I know he means well but.. fuck.”
Dr. Baek only nods, mentally beginning to take notes. “Why? You scared he’s going to steal her?” He prods, leaning closer to Dr. Park.
“No, I’m scared she’s going to crack and tell him about our feelings. She’s not the strongest when it comes to confessions. I should know.” Gyeong-Won reasons, quickly opening the door to the operation room with his identification card.
“Hm. So you both like Dr. Yang?” Baek Kang-Hyuk laughs, walking inside and quickly beginning to scrub in.
“Yeah.. just don’t know how to tell him yet.” Gyeong-Won admits, looking away from the older man as he stood next to him to scrub in. And that was that. No more questions. Just the confession out in the open.

Hey, bring your girlfriend. Meet me in Jae-Won’s room. I’m getting him to confess. Dr Baek texts Gyeong-Won in the elevator. Leaning against the wall as he glances at an increasingly nervous Yang Jae-Won, causing him the scoff.
Honestly, Yang Jae-Won has known the two of you for.. a little over a year now. The most honest and consistent people when it came to operations. ( Name ) who was always there to help compose or listen to anyone’s troubles about their life. Not to mention their scary experience in surgery and nursing . And Gyeong-Won who is a great study buddy and someone he could rely on for almost anything.
He couldn’t help but feel he was stuck in the middle. Mutually attracted to the both fo you but stuck and drowning in his feelings as the thought of confessions to either one of you would ruin the carefully crafted relationship you had between yourselves.
No matter how many times he tried to suck up his courage and confess he just. Couldn’t. Until now. Where he was forcefully dragged towards his room and placed inside. The door shutting closed with a loud thud.
Inside his room, was exactly who he was dreading to see.
“I- hi. So uhm.. Hi.” Yang Jae-Won stuttered. Looking nervously between the two of you. Did Gyeong-Won’s arms get bigger? And holy heavens, you looked drop dead gorgeous in that color. Already making a note to thank Jang-Mi for gifting you that new color of scrubs.
“Hi Jae-Won. We just wanted to let you know that.. we know about your crush. And we like you too.” Gyeong-Won shrugged matter-of-factly. Like it was the most normal thing in the world to confess as you both stood cornering your crush against a door.
“I thought we weren’t confessing like. So bluntly?” You huff, walking over to Jae-Won and tugging him close. Hugging his pliant body like a mother would to her son and running a hand through his hair. “I mean look at him! He’s basically turned into a strawberry!” You huff, gesturing to Yang Jae-Won’s face that actively kept growing hotter and hotter as he processed your words.
“Well, it was easier than telling him indirectly.” Gyeong-Won sighs, stepping closer and trapping the surgeon between the both of you.
“I- I- I like you both too! So please take care of me!” Jae-Won almost yells, his face hiding in between your chest and shoulders before he abruptly dropped all of his body weight onto you.
“Fuck! Help!” You yelp as you stumble backwards as he leans forward. Gently picking him up and watching as Yang Jae-Won had probably passed out from the surprise and also the amount of intimacy.
“I guess a love triangle might be a little too much for him..” Gyeong-Won laughed as he moved to pick up the man from your arms and rested you against the couch. Sitting Jae-Won on your lap then himself.

4.4: When Dr. Mom Noticed
It was a quiet afternoon in the trauma ward—well, as quiet as it could get. Hyejoo had just finished reviewing a patient chart and stepped into the nurses’ station to grab a cup of coffee when she noticed something curious on the whiteboard.
There it was again. The doodle.
Stick-figure Dr. Baek: perpetually scowling, arms crossed. Stick-figure Dr. Song: beaming, a stethoscope drawn around her neck. Above them, in bold, slightly messy handwriting:
“TRAUMA MOM & DAD”
She blinked.
Jangmi, standing nearby, tried to cover it quickly with her clipboard—but it was too late.
Hyejoo tilted her head, suppressing a smirk. “Trauma… mom and dad?”
Jaewon, unfortunately passing by with coffee, nearly choked on his drink.
“Ah. That… might be a thing,” he admitted.
Hyejoo turned toward Jangmi with a raised brow. “A thing?”
Jangmi sighed, already grinning. “You and Dr. Baek. You’re like the parental figures of the trauma team. He’s all tough love and intimidation. You’re the calm and comforting balance.”
Hyejoo stared for a beat. Then, unexpectedly, she let out a soft laugh.
“I kind of like that,” she said, leaning forward to get a better look at the doodle. “Though I should be offended. My hair is way better than this.”
Jangmi looked relieved. “So you’re not mad?”
“Mad? Jangmi, I’ve been called worse,” Hyejoo said, picking up a marker. With a few quick strokes, she added earrings to her stick figure and a little heart between her and Kanghyuk’s doodles.
Jaewon blinked. “Wait, is that… a heart?”
Hyejoo just winked.
Later that day, Kanghyuk walked past the whiteboard again. His eyes narrowed at the heart. “Who drew this?”
Jangmi looked entirely too pleased with herself. “Ask your wife.”
Kanghyuk opened his mouth to protest—but then Hyejoo stepped into the hallway, coffee in hand, casually brushing past him.
“What? It’s accurate,” she said over her shoulder. “I even gave you hair this time.”
Kanghyuk stood there, bewildered.
And maybe just a little flustered.

Okay, spoilers for Trauma Code but, during the flashback with the director in last episode, who else was reminded of the flashback at the end of Ratatouille?

I'm LITERALLY addicted to Bromance Kdramas that give off that bl vibe and I think I've finished most of them
I've searched for other Kdramas but couldn't find anything I feel like I'll cry I'll settle for crumbs as long as it's good one PLS (More dramas will be added to this list constantly based on what I watched)
