In celebration of finishing five of my six shawls for my wedding I have released the pattern for my "on the fly" bridesmaid shawl.

It's made of Bamboo pop on a US 6 needle. Because I hate knitting the same thing twice I did attempt to make this pattern customizable. The lace is both charted and writen out for convenience.

Made for my goth niece! Pattern: Virus shawl. Made from an OOAK cake from my stash (from Etsy). She picked the pattern and yarn. It is massive, iirc the cake is 1000m. I'll probably never do a virus shawl again mainly bc my brain is frizzled and I am so bad at counting/repetition lol. The one on the starry background is closest to IRL

Giratina ripping gashes in the spacetime continuum just to get Arceus's attention and drag the alpha beast out of its den seems like a very silly, cat-like thing to do...

But to be honest? Great, giant dragons with god-like powers but with the territorial aggression and temperamental attitude of a wild beast is kind of terrifying. There is no 'divine authority that acts in mysterious ways' like what we think human deities would be like. A rampaging Giratina, Dialga, or Palkia getting into a scuffle is like... Two lions fighting each other atop an ant hill, kicking up dirt and sand and ants flying off and not caring if they're ok or not.

Arceus is known as the ALPHA Pokemon, but perhaps in the sense of being the 'Apex Animal' or highest of the pecking order over the four divine dragons (if we count arceus as a dragon)

Each has their role to play and their niche in their celestial ecosystem... But each is also arrogant. Palkia and Dialga take on forms that mock Arceus's figure, and Giratina does a bold move to challenge Arceus for alpha status.

Arceus... Really wants these lizards to leave it the fuck alone and to stop fucking up its divine patching and knitting of the fabric of reality.

Found a few (14) brown and tan fat quarters and decided to try Jordan Fabrics Churn Dash.

Too tired to figure out what size it’ll end up being, but the pattern says 47”x65”.

Also? Ugh. HST trimming.

But, I can’t help but feel like…

SJM solidified Elriel when she decided to write Nessian. Two sisters are with two brothers. The third brother not ending up with the third sister is like a puzzle missing it’s final piece. A disruption in the pattern deeply prevalent throughout the entire series. Three trials. Three mountains. Three Death Gods. Three feet to the Cauldron. Three is a number of fate. A holy number. A pattern. And tell me, does this match said pattern:

Two brothers and two sisters.

One brother and [insert red-head of choice].

It lacks balance. And, interestingly enough, we learn about a symbol of balance in HOSAB:

“A six-pointed star,” Ithan said […] “It is a symbol of balance,” She explained, moving away… “Two intersecting triangles, male and female, dark and light, above and below… and the power that lies in the place where they meet.”

Now back to the world of ACOTAR. Where can we find two interesting triangles [see: a set of three, three “points”]? The three Archeron sisters. And the three batboys.

Feyre and Rhys: The Leaders, or top of the Triangle. High Lady and High Lord. “Love me.” Night Triumphant and the Stars Eternal.

Nesta and Cassian: The Warriors, one side of the triangle’s base. Lady Death and the Lord of Bloodshed. “Touch me.” The General of the Illyrians and the Commander of the Valkyries.

Elain and Azriel: The Spys, the second side of the triangle’s base. The Seer and the Shadowsinger. “Sing me.” Death and the Lovely Fawn.

Together they are the foundation of the six-pointed star. They are a part of balance. An intersecting of power. Elain’s story is tied to her sisters. It’s tied to the third mountain. To the Night Court whose sigil is literally three stars. It’s tied to her transitioning from the trembling fawn to the fang beast. And her story, like both her sisters, is tied to a bat boy.

SJM made the bed with the three brothers x three sisters trope with Nessian. It only makes sense, or shall I say is rather obvious, that she will move forward and complete the pattern, achieving balance.

That’s all, your honor. I rest my case.

what better way to celebrate our beloved boy ephemer than recreating his most iconic wardrobe choice? Red scarf my beloved!!!

it was my hubris that made me try and complete this crochet project before christmas day, but in my defense, i almost did it! everything except the design on the other half is finished, so just fill in the mental blank on the left hand side.

i couldn't get the colors to capture very well in the pictures but it really is the perfect red for ephemer's scarf.

the swirl design is just me free-handing it, it is definitely a bit sloppy and i need to work on my sewing skills but! i had so much fun with it
