On 7 October, Hamas carried out an unprecedented surprise attack on Israel. Under the cover of a barrage of rockets, fighters from the Hamas military wing, the Qassam Brigades, broke through the Gaza border fence to attack nearby military bases and settlements (kibbutzim).
Israel claims that during the attack, Hamas fighters massacred some 1,200 Israelis, the majority civilians, while committing unthinkable atrocities.
A close review of events on 7 October shows that Hamas fighters instead carried out what amounted to both a military assault and mass kidnapping operation to break Israel’s decades long siege on Gaza, which many view as the world’s largest concentration camp.
In the process, they did kill hundreds of Israelis, including soldiers, police, and civilians, while taking hundreds more as captives back to Gaza.
At the same time, many of the claims made by Israel about the scale and nature of Hamas atrocities, including the most horrific, have proven to be fabrications.
Shockingly, many of the Israeli civilians and soldiers who died that day were killed not by Hamas, but by Israeli forces themselves, both as a result of friendly fire and the controversial military policy known as the “Hannibal Directive.”
The policy dictates it is better for Israel to kill its own soldiers or civilians rather than allow an enemy to take them captive.
As detailed below, the Israeli military unleashed overwhelming firepower to reconquer the military bases and kibbutzim near Gaza that had been taken over by Hamas.

Israel had the Hamas attack plan for the music festival in 2022 and called it "Jericho Wall".
When Hamas attacked Israel October 7, 2023 I was suspicious that it really was a surprise to Israel.
I hope this war comes to an end soon.

Juneteenth is a Black American holiday.
We call Juneteenth many things: Black Independence Day, Freedom Day, Emancipation Day, Jubilee Day. We celebrate and honor our ancestors.
December 31 is recognized as Watch Night or Freedom’s Eve in Black American churches because it marks the day our enslaved ancestors were awaiting news of their freedom going into 1863. On January 1, 1863, President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation. But all of the ancestors wouldn’t be freed until June 19, 1865 for those in Galveston, Texas and even January 23, 1866 for those in New Jersey (the last slave state). (It’s also worth noting that our people under the Choctaw and Chickasaw Nations wouldn’t be freed until April 28, 1866 and June 14, 1866 for those under the Cherokee Nation by way of the Treaties.)
Since 1866, Black Americans in Texas have been commemorating the emancipation of our people by way of reading the Emancipation Proclamation and coming together to have parades, free festivities, and later on pageants. Thereafter, it spread to select states as an annual day of commemoration of our people in our homeland.
Here’s a short silent video filmed during the 1925 Juneteenth celebration in Beaumont, Texas:
youtube
(It’s also worth noting that the Mascogos tribe in Coahuila, Mexico celebrate Juneteenth over there as well. Quick history lesson: A total of 305,326 Africans were shipped to the US to be enslaved alongside of American Indians who were already or would become enslaved as prisoners of war, as well as those who stayed behind refusing to leave and walk the Trail of Tears to Oklahoma. In the United States, you were either enslaved under the English territories, the Dutch, the French, the Spanish, or under the Nations of what would called the Five “Civilized” Native American Tribes: Cherokee, Creek (Muscogee), Chickasaw, Choctaw, and Seminoles. Mascogos descend from the Seminoles who escaped slavery during the Seminole Wars, or the Gullah Wars that lasted for more than 100 years if you will, and then settled at El Nacimiento in 1852.)
We largely wave our red, white and blue flags on Juneteenth. These are the only colors that represent Juneteenth. But sometimes you may see others wave our Black American Heritage flag (red, black, and gold).
Juneteenth is a day of respect. It has nothing to do with Africa, diversity, inclusion, immigration, your Pan-African flag, your cashapps, nor your commerce businesses. It is not a day of “what about” isms. It is not a day to tap into your inner colonizer and attempt to wipe out our existence. That is ethnocide and anti-Black American. If you can’t attend a Black American (centered) event that’s filled with education on the day, our music, our food and other centered activities because it’s not centered around yours…that is a you problem. Respect our day for what and whom it stands for in our homeland.
Juneteenth flag creator: “Boston Ben” Haith
Tumblr media
It was created in 1997. The red, white and blue colors represent the American flag. The five-point star represents the Lone State (Texas). The white burst around the star represents a nova, the beginning of a new star. The new beginning for Black Americans.
Black American Heritage Flag creators: Melvin Charles & Gleason T. Jackson
Tumblr media
It was created in 1967, our Civil Rights era. The color black represents the ethnic pride for who we are. Red represents the blood shed for freedom, equality, justice and human dignity. Gold fig wreath represents intellect, prosperity, and peace. The sword represents the strength and authority exhibited by a Black culture that made many contributions to the world in mathematics, art, medicine, and physical science, heralding the contributions that Black Americans would make in these and other fields.
Tumblr media
SN: While we’re talking about flags, I should note that Grace Wisher, a 13-year-old free Black girl from Baltimore helped stitched the Star Spangled flag, which would inspire the national anthem during her six years of service to Mary Pickersgill. I ain’t even gon hold you. I never looked too far into it, but she prob sewed that whole American flag her damn self. They love lying about history here until you start unearthing them old documents.
In conclusion, Juneteenth is a Black American holiday. Respect us and our ancestors.

Not so Small Now? P2
~AGED UP Neteyam x Na’vi reader
~Explict content, p in v, degradation, size kink, dom Neteyam, sub reader, semi-public??
~Proofread- yes
~Summary-The time has finally come for Neteyam to pick a mate.
***
Tumblr media
You were scared. No, you were petrified, a better way to word it. The week leading up to Neteyam’s ceremony was straight pain. Neteyam acted as if he had already claimed you, forcing you to stay away from any males. The sweet boy, who would do anything for you was long gone. You were always a helping hand around the tribe, which pissed Neteyam off.
You were his. You couldn't fight it, the way you always looked for him in a room. The way your body yearned for the boy’s touch. The more the week went on, the harder it got. It the harder for Neteyam to not bend you over and fuck you so everyone knows who you belong to.
“Can you get me more bandages?” Kiri asked as you both helped injured hunters. “Of course!” you quickly got up and headed to the supply room, but were quickly taken by surprise when a hand covered your mouth. “Don’t scream,” Neteyam said as he manhandled you against the table.
“Neteyam!” you squealed as the boy smirked down at you, his hand trickled down finding a home on your upper thigh. “Neteyam, anyone can walk in,” you attempted to be a voice of reason, but God the way his hand circled your leg you couldn’t deny you weren't turned on.
“You're so sensitive,” he couldn't but laugh at the way your body shivered, even though he barely touched you. His lips grazed your neck before he started leaving little kisses, “don’t leave a mark,” you said finally giving into the pleasure the boy gave you. His hands traveled under your loincloth, his fingers finding a way to your clit. A soft sigh left your mouth, “Kiri is w-waiting for me,” your words went in one ear out the other as he applied more pressure.
“One more day, my Nova,” he smiled big as two of his fingers dipped inside of you. “Before I’m gonna fuck you for everyone to hear. And nobody can stop me.” The moan you let out was music to his ears, he sped his pace up chasing for you to become louder. “Already so dumb and it's just my fingers. Can't wait to see how stupid your gonna look on my dick.” His words made you wetter as you tried to hold your moans down.
His fingers, which we stuffed deep in you, found a rhythm as you felt an orgasm approach. “Teyem, slow down.” you tried slowing his pace but with his other hand he grabbed your wrists so easily. Tears pricked up in your eyes as you reached your high, and you threw your head back as moans escaped.
Neteyam helped you up as you tried catching your breath, “you're so gorgeous,” he kissed your forehead, and you blushed hoping off the table and grabbing what Kiri asked for. You didn't know what you were going to tell the poor girl. “See you later,” you said as you kissed the boy, who kissed your hand and walked away.
“Nova! I asked for these almost an hour ago! What happened?” you crossed your legs as you felt slick roll down your leg. “I'm so sorry there was no more I had to run and get more,” the lie slipped off your lips. “Are you okay?” you nodded, “yea I just need to go pee.” you ran out of the room saving yourself from any further embarrassment.
Tumblr media
Neytiri smiled at the boy, she was so proud. Neteyam had truly proved himself to be an amazing warrior, sibling, and son. She watched as the boy got ready, Tuk asking him questions while Kiri placed the traditional paint on his face. This was all she ever wanted, to be at peace with her children and husband. Jake was off making sure everything was going well for his oldest son’s ceremony.
“When will you mate?” Tuk asked the boy, while Lo’ak and Kiri erupted into a laughing fit, Neteyam simply smiled. “Tuk, Neteyam is going to die alone! The girl he loves doesn't love him back,” Kiri laughed loud at Lo’ak’s words. “You two know nothing,” Neteyam muttered under his breath as Kiri finally finished.
“You're telling us, Nova has chosen you? Brother, you are younger than her!” Neteyam let their words go in one ear and out the other. He was completely entertained by their words, he knew you were nothing but his pretty little toy. How in the next few hours, he’d have your cunt sore. Having you mewling on the floor, like a bitch in heat.
“Leave Neteyam alone, hurry on, and take your place by your grandmother.” Neytiri calmly pushed everyone out of the room before smiling at Neteyam, “my baby boy is no longer a baby,” she hugged the boy, “do not let their words get to you son, if you believe you and Nova are meant to be, you will be.” Neteyam nodded hugging her back, but he knew for sure, him and Nova would mate.
You stood next to your family as you watched Jake talk. He spoke highly of the boy and that he’ll make an amazing hunter and warrior, and you stopped listening after that point. I mean you couldn't, not with Neteyam starting deep into your soul. You shifted from foot to foot, his glare was doing things to you, and your mother hit you lightly to stop moving. You couldn't help it, it was almost like his stare knew exactly what you were thinking. How you knew he was going to fuck you.
“Let us celebrate!” Jake’s words brought you back, and you felt your stomach do a flip. Everyone began clapping and screaming, and you felt Kiri grab your arm lightly, “let's go!” you smiled softly before letting her drag you away.
It had become dark, and no sign of Neteyam. Your heart raced as your senses became heightened, “what’s got you so jumpy?” Kiri asked looking at you funny, “nothing!” you replied quickly as you stood up, “shouldn't Neteyam be here?” Kiri was going to answer before a deep voice startled you, “right here.”
If you could pass out, you would. He walked up hugging you from behind, “where have you been off to?” Kiri asked as his hand crept up your back leg. Your breath hitched, “I've been off with dad, just messing around,” his hands kept rubbing up and down. “Nova, I’ve been meaning to show you something! I’m gonna steal your friend, sister,” he said as he quickly walked off with the girl, not letting Kiri get a word in.
“You are unbelievable! What if she saw us?” you said once you two were a good distance away from the group. “The embarrassment! I could never speak to anyone again!” you kept ranting until he stopped walking, “hey why’d you stop walk-” you stopped as you took in the scenery, he brought you to the tree of souls.
“Nova, you are the most beautiful thing I've ever laid my eyes on.” he looked you in the eyes, “I’ve told you many times my plan on mating with you, but ultimately it is not my choice. Let me be the one and I promise, that I will protect you, love you, and always do right by you till my last breath.”
He held your face, “I see you, Nova. Always have, always will.” you stepped on your tippy toes and kissed the boy on his lips. He returned the favor, deepening it. He softly placed you on the grass before breaking the kiss and connecting your foreheads, “I see you, Ma Neteyam,” he smiled big as he reached for his queue to which you follows after him. “I promise you, Nova till the day I die I will never stop loving you,” you both connected your queues, and you let a small moan leave your mouth.
Suddenly, Neteyam pushed you down-climbing on top of you, “I told you I was gonna fuck you,” his hands ripped off the clothes separating him and you. He kissed your neck before slowly finding your breasts. “Teyem,” you let out a moan as his fingers found their way inside you, “such pretty moans,” his pace quickened, “gladly I'm the only one who can make you like this,” you were too gone to understand his words. “I’m the one who makes you cum,” he groaned, sucking at your breasts. He took his fingers out leaving her dry, “the only time your cumming tonight, is on my dick.”
You watched him as he rubbed his dick up and down, you tried to go grab it but he stopped you, “not tonight baby, today's about your pleasure,” he laid you down once more before aligning his tip to your entrance, “this might hurt baby, tell me when to stop,” you nodded as he continued. He went slow, whispering praises in your ear as your moans found speed. “Go faster! Please, Teyem faster!” His hips picked up pace quickly, watching as you lost yourself to pleasure. Your eyes were glossy, and your hair was a mess, but to him, you were the most beautiful thing.
“I’m gonna cum!” you carved your nails into his back but he could care less, the pleasure was rendering you speechless. You moved your hips, chasing for release, “cum for me.” You felt yourself let go, and an instant relief covered your body, making you moan loudly. Neteyam couldn't help but cum along with you, the scene was such a turn-on for him.
He watched you attempt to catch your breath, smirking at your body, “do you remember the bet?” you looked at him as if he was crazy, “what bet?” you tried to sit up but Neteyam pushed her back down, “when we were younger you always used to bully me about being short,” his handheld your hips down, “Teyem,” he couldn't be serious. You felt his tip rub your opening, “but look at you now, a bitch in heat,” he pushed himself back in, watching you choke a moan back, “wonder what they’d say if they saw you so fucked out,” Neteyam pushed his whole body weight on you, to hold you down. Your thighs trembled, “they’d be so shocked to see it was me who has you in this state,” his pace picked up, “you're going to cum again,” you gripped the grass, “no, please, Teyem,” you became overwhelmed as you felt yourself near.
“There you go!” you came all over, harder as Neteyam finally slipped out, “my pretty baby,” he kissed your forehead, and he laid beside you kissing your hand, “I love you,” you said scooting into his embrace, he smile brightly, “I love you too.”

cw: atla au. fem!reader and a named female oc are both pro benders. fighting-focused without overt graphic descriptions. a/n: the pro-bending here is not exactly the same as in lok, i've taken a lot of liberties. this part focuses a lot on reader's friend to set the stage but a subsequent part will be more about reader.
Pro-bending is a terrible use of your time, and yet you’re here, checking the straps of your helmet and making sure the oversized gourd that hangs between your shoulder blades is well-affixed to your person. You catch a glimpse of yourself in the full-length mirrors placed along the wall as you move through the lockers to find your friend and shake your head. Ridiculous.
When you finally find your friend, she’s still finagling with her wristguards and you can see a small cloud of steam leave her nostrils as she breathes out sharply in a huff. She’s both frustrated and shaking with anticipation, and yet she doesn’t look as ridiculous as you feel you do in her own gear.
“Don’t burn down the locker room, Nova,” you tease, moving closer to help with the straps. Her left hand shakes a little as you secure them, and she sighs. You pretend to duck and the sigh shifts to a pout.
“Stop making fun of me!”
“Stop making it easy and I won’t.”
She rolls her eyes, but her typical cheer returns shortly as she jumps up from her bench and puts her hands up into fists.
“I can’t believe we’re finally doing this!” she says, and giving herself a wide berth from you showcases one of her winning combos, a jab-hook and roundhouse kick, flames ablaze and disappearing as quickly as they appear.
You also cannot believe you’re doing this and twist your mouth to the side, but Nova is extremely convincing when she wants to be, and you’ve been her sparring partner for long enough that it wouldn’t make sense to let her go into this venture alone. You’re not as good as her, but you’ve been decent at your amateur club, and your mentor has pushed for you to show up together.
“Can’t wait to lose the first match,” you start, making your way out of the locker room. You can feel the water in your gourd sloshing away with every step and wonder if you overfilled it. In truth, however, you can never have too much water, anyone from a Water nation tribe knows this, even if your ancestry is what one would call dilute.
“You say this every time and have your opponent begging for mercy.”
You roll your eyes. This time will be different, you can sense it, and you tell her just that.
“This is the rookie contest. They can’t be that good.” Nova says. She’s moving up to the main arena faster now, her legs carrying her closer and closer to the promise of glory, and you have to take longer strides to catch up to her. The two of you end up spilling into one of the openings, where there is still a match taking place, and from the look and sound of it, reaching its final stage. Nova is easily transfixed, while you lead her by the shoulders to a spot to sit down that’s a few bleachers up, almost tripping over a step when she stops suddenly and you slam into her.
“Nova!”
“God, did you see that?”
You didn’t see it, but when you turn, there appears to be a repeat exciting move, a fire bender who blasts off into the air and appears to dive back down in a cyclone of fire. You frown, wondering why that’s legal, and wince as he makes impact with the air bender who’s decided to protect themselves in a ball of wind energy. It doesn’t work – the impact multiplies and the whole pit seems to erupt in blinding light; and then it recedes, and there’s one clear victor.
The blonde-haired firebender isn’t even panting when he’s announced victory and you grimace while Nova holds onto your arm, clearly smitten. It’s unsurprising, because even you can tell he’s conventionally attractive, and knows so, tall and athletically built with sharp crimson eyes and a cocky grin flashed at the crowd. You eye the opponent’s injuries which seem mild, although he seems clearly dazed, and you realize that the gloating young man is particularly skilled, if he’s able to minimize injury in such a powerful blow.
That being said, you won’t let go of an opportunity to tease your friend. “Stop slobbering and get ready for your match,” you remind her, before patting her shoulder. “I can’t wait to see you wipe the floor with them.”
Nova’s grin is wide and she promises to make you and herself proud.
You find a seat quickly near the bleachers while the arena is cleared and you watch Nova shrug her shoulders and roll her neck as a woman is placed before her. A waterbender like you, but her rain of hailstones is not particularly impressive, and Nova clears them quickly into rain and then steam before they touch her with flames fanning towards the sky. You lean forward, watching carefully for any identifying features. You should have studied who exactly was in the scene and who was famous before you got here, but it would only have stressed you out more.
Nova completes the match quickly with a ring out. It’s more merciful than her predecessor but the opponent has a similar dazed expression on their face by the end of the match. Nova comes out quickly and waves at you excitedly, glee on her face.
It’s your turn next.
Your first match is easy, thankfully, your opponent, a particularly agitated airbender whose bursts of air pressure are easily dodged or deflected with your water used as a fortified shield. He loses when he slips on a patch of ice right out of the ring, too slow and surprised to suspend himself in the air. The crowd laughs, and you feel a little bad, a sheepish expression on your face.
You clear the arena quickly, your heart pounding from the exhilaration of the fight, and Nova gives you a high five. Another match takes about ten minutes to end, and you’re barely paying attention to the two earthbenders throwing rocks at each other in a manner akin to apes, still trying to catch your breath and calm your nerves before your next match. You control your breathing. Across the lowest rung of the bleachers where you sit, you can see the blonde from earlier staring directly in your direction, and then you realize he is staring really at your friend, and look at the match rundown on the projector. Two and two add up.
“Nova, your next opponent is the guy from earlier. Bakugou.”
Nova blinks then leans in closer.
“Which guy?”
You press your lips in a thin line. "Mr. Hot and Sexy.”
Her eyes widen, and it almost irritates you that the designation helped. You try to point discreetly in the correct direction, and he’s still staring with red, practically glowing eyes at her, as though trying to mildly intimidate but not threaten her. Nova stares back just as fiercely, and you’re thankful that at least she won’t let a boy win just because he’s cute.
You do notice besides him, there’s another pro bender who’s staring at the match that is in no way interesting far too intensely, leaned so far forward he might as well fall off his chair and once you squint closer, you realize he has a notepad before him and is scribbling something quickly. Just from the way his pen moves, you figure his handwriting is messy and disorganized, but his green eyes are bright and clearly intelligent. His shoulders are broad, not unlike the young man next to him, but he seems just a bit wider and more relaxed. Gentle even, like the dark-green curls of his hair, like he’d much rather give you a hug than lay a finger on you.
And yet, he’s here.
“Nova, don’t you dare lose to him,” you warn her when it’s her turn to go up. She bumps fists with you, grinning, and you see Bakugou do the same as they both approach the arena from the stair-rails.
They acknowledge each other and you find your hand tensing up around the water gourd now sitting in your lap for comfort.
It’s for good reason, because their first bout is fierce to say the least. Nova’s flames are fast and many, and Bakugou responds to each with a dodge or even fiercer fire. At some point, your jaw drops as he practically inhales a blast, then returns it larger, and more focused, and for a moment you wonder one, if the referee has vetted that move, or two, if he’s a combustion bender in addition to simple fire bending, given that the blast, when dodged, practically destroys a corner of the arena. Nova, a little startled, propels herself to one side of the arena, then looks at the destruction, then back at Bakugou. Sweat beads visibly on her forehead.
“Is that all you got?!” Bakugou taunts. Nova grits her teeth, and then she’s back at him, a running start into a fire-filled windmill kick her next attack. Bakugou dodges, then his hand closes around her ankle which makes you gasp, and a throw nearly gets her out of the ring in an uncontrolled somersault that stops just short of the edge of the platform.
She’s back up and at him yet again in a second, and the crowd, also holding their breath, cheers loudly. Fists ablaze, she punches, one after the other, many of which are dodged, but the last one he has to block with a cross of his arms before his face, and he’s pushed back. Revitalized, Nova kicks one more time but she’s tripped suddenly, and in seconds falls flat on the ground, staring at the ceiling.
You watch in shock as he takes the immediate opportunity to pin her down, and one blast that is a bit more than fire charges from the palm of his hand, but then before the referee can blow their whistle, he slams into the ground next to her head.
“You’re done,” he mouths. Nova looks shocked, biting her lower lip in anger rather than concede an embarrassing defeat.
The referee ends the match and the crowd claps, giving a standing ovation to both for their fight. You stand too and clap enthusiastically, even though Nova looks both flustered and angry by the time she makes it back to you after being checked out for injuries.
“This is so embarrassing,” she murmurs under her breath, twirling a lock of her hair. You offer her a reassuring smile.
“You did a good job.”
She sighs and takes your gourd from you and puts it in her own lap, tapping nervously at the sides. She doesn’t seem too banged up so you’re thankful.
“You’re fighting someone named Midoriya next,” she says now, after glancing at the updated projector. Your faces aren’t displayed against the projector.
You take a deep breath, then take your gourd back from her gently.
“If I get my ass beat too it’s fine, as long as it’s fast. Then we can both go home.”
Nova pouts and she’s so puppy-like you find yourself stifling a laugh.
“Fine, I”ll try.”
A few more moments pass, and you’re called to the arena.
The curly haired man with Bakugou looks at you and smiles, an action that disarms you, before he prepares to face you too.

The question I keep coming back to is, of all the places that it could have been held, why did the festival producer move the Supernova Sukkot Gathering to this location? And why was the festival location changed two days prior?

Why would anyone come up with the Functionist caste system?
Dear Caste Castigator,
As many ideas do—be they dangerous or benign—it began as innocent curiosity. Every generation inevitably asks itself the same question: “What is my purpose? For what reason was I created? What part do I have to play, in our society?” Our alt-modes are important to us, and throughout history, many have looked to our forms for the answer. “Why do I turn into this, and not that? If I was designed this way, then what for?” And as we find that our own bodies have precious few answers to give us, we turn to those around us: “Why are there more cars than particle accelerators?” At the dawn of our civilisation, even my siblings wondered about these mysteries.
It was during the rise of Nova Prime, in response to the war of the Primes, that these philosophical questions morphed into the ideology of Functionism. Nova Prime decided that the tribes had gone astray—that each had their own divine purpose to fulfill, which they had forsaken. He recruited twelve bots—one from each of the original tribes, excepting Onyx's—who formed a council to comprehend and expand this list of functions, forming the first Grand Cybertronian Taxonomy.
Having arrived at what they believed to be a complete set of categories, they thus set out to fit the planet’s population into these categories. At its basis, this meant that Solus’ followers were assigned to work in the forges; Alpha Trion’s followers to the archives; the Darklanders to the barracks. Few at the time considered this societal structure to be asserted unnaturally. Rather, it was seen as codifying the existing cultures of the tribes, unifying them in its view of Cybertron as a single people collectively working to a divine mandate. The dissenting voice of the Beasts was easy to disregard, given their defeat at the Citadel of Light, and most abandoned Nova’s society to live in the wilderness.
As the Golden Age continued, the Taxonomy grew more and more complicated. The original set of castes was expanded, coinciding with the introduction of ratioism: the more unique your alternate mode, the more important you were believed to be. Castes believed to be “important for society” were heavily subdivided into hyperspecialized classes, allowing the Prime and his followers to be seen as blessed. Meanwhile, laborers remained in larger, more generalized castes, where they were treated as interchangeable.
Naturally there were objections to this—but with the weapons held by the newly-formed military classes, the rebellion was halted in its tracks, and society was forced to accept the caste system wholly, even as it grew ever more byzantine and oppressive.
It may be surprising, given his later reputation, but Nominus rose to become Prime mostly on the back of his promises to loosen the caste system. This was supposedly implemented through the introduction of the intellectual classes—those who were judged to be valuable for their minds, not their alt modes. This was a huge development at the time, bordering on heresy... but in truth, this progress proved to be a fantasy.

AP’s ubiquitous photographers — the prolific bunch churns out 1.2 million images annually — also don’t manage to capture the shocking scene of Pasternak’s home defaced with what amounts to a murder threat. Instead, the cadre of photojournalists suffice with an image of the German consulate, which was vandalized with red paint, apparently applied in an abstract arrangement, sans red triangles. Like Marcelo’s article, the photograph’s caption also paints over the pro-Hamas imagery, referring to a random splashing of color:
Red paint covers portions of the entrance to the German consulate building, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in New York. Pro-Palestinian protesters have vandalized locations associated with the Brooklyn Museum and United Nations in New York City, throwing red paint across their entrances in opposition to the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. (AP Photo/Sophie Rosenbaum)
Not only does the caption neglect to note the Hamas-linked graphic, it also ignores that the “locations associated with the Brooklyn Museum” were private homes.
It’s not just Hamas graphics which are subjected to AP’s scrubbing. A pro-Hamas organization also gets sanitized. Here’s how AP’s Marcelo whitewashes the pro-Hamas Within Our Lifetime group:
The protest group Within Our Lifetime and other organizers of that demonstration said the museum is “deeply invested in and complicit” in Israel’s military actions in Gaza through its leadership, trustees, corporate sponsors and donors — a claim museum officials have denied.
He says not a word about the organization’s support for Hamas. According to ADL, Within Our Lifetime
has hosted or co-sponsored at least 78 anti-Israel rallies many of which included explicit support for violence against Israeli civilians by U.S. designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations  Hamas, The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Hezbollah, the Houthis and affiliated individuals such as Leila Khaled and Hamas’ military wing spokesperson Abu Obaida. WOL also expressed enthusiastic support for Iran’s unprecedented April 13 drone-and-missile attack on Israel.
Marcelo similarly sluices down Within Our Lifetime’s horrifying and deep embrace of terror at the demonstration outside the Nova Festival massacre last week. His censored account states:
The paint attacks came the same week that Within Our Lifetime organized a large demonstration outside a New York City exhibition memorializing victims of the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on the Tribe of Nova music festival. The group called it “Zionist propaganda” and dismissed the music festival, where hundreds died, as “a rave next to a concentration camp.”
AP spares its readers from the most disturbing aspects from the event. As Times of Israel reported:
On June 11, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer denounced the antisemitism of the pro-Hamas crowd outside the Nova Festival exhibit, twice citing those most heinous lines:
What was even worse, or at least adding salt into the wounds was that just a day or two after I visited the exhibit, protestors gathered outside the exhibit chanting repugnant antisemitic phrases, donning banners that read “Long Live October 7th” and “The Zionists are not Jews and not humans.” How low can you go ? Having visited the exhibit and seeing those young people and then knowing and seeing on film what happened to them at the vicious hands of Hamas, and then having people come outside and protest and say “Long Live October 7th” and “The Zionists are not Jews and not humans.” How repugnant. How despicable. How terribly unnerving that humanity could sink that low.
And yet, at this low point for humanity, AP has relegated these repugnant slogans glorifying mass murder to the dustbin of history.

Me, seeing amongst dust breathing souls: ooh this looks cool let me check it out!
Me finishing chapter 1: ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
This looks cool, I will eagerly await next week's update, and that is one hell of an intro.
;)
“Sir,” Ponds says, and A'Sharad touches his helmet, the rich brown paint that makes A'Sharad think of the Jundland Wastelands in early spring. His fingers leave a smear of red, patchy across the brown and white plastoid, but he can't apologize, can't offer comfort, can't speak. There's nothing in his lungs and a ringing in his head, and the world is getting darker even though the suns are rising.
A gauntleted hand wraps around A'Sharad’s before it can drop, and Ponds leans in, other hand on A'Sharad’s cheek. A'Sharad thinks how none of the tribe in the valley had this, this comfort, and he closes his eyes against the burn of guilt and grief, feels the Force open around him like a nova, or maybe welcoming arms.
