Since I'm sitting here, I'm gonna unload a little.

This has been a very stressful period at work. I'm in the middle of trying to get an entire film crew of people here (more than 40 people). I got the first major part complete. The second part is a process that we typically farm out to outside counsel, but since the dual strikes hit our bottom line hard and it's such a huge group, we can't let that work go.

The problem is that it's a relatively new process to me. I've done it a few times before just not on this scale and not regularly. Like all government systems, it's a pain in the ass. So I'm teaching it to myself so that I can eventually teach it to my staff, but in the meantime I'm pretty much on my own.

And trying to get this many people to respond on a timely basis and to communicate extremely relevant information is like herding cats. I think I streamlined the process down to three email steps per person, assuming they read and follow the directions. And then I have to monitor the process and make sure they didn't mess anything up and make sure they timely pickup their documents. I have 4 weeks to get these done and they typically take 3 weeks assuming no delays. Pray for me.

I was still sending out the first emails yesterday and then my secure internet stopped working and I had to stop. So I have more to do when I get home.

No matter how hard I try I feel like I haven't really rested or relaxed in a long while.

All I want to do is get home, finish my work, and play Stardew.
