Cofetaria "Lira" - "Lira" Confectionery

Hi Dears,
I've tried to revive a historical building from my hometown that now, unfortunately, is also in disrepair. It's 90% inspiration and 10% worked with what I had, cause 'sims limitation', but I chose to recreate it as an oldies confectionery with a top bookstore / library. Purely inspiration tho, no idea what it looked like back then, although my dad remembers it as a fond memory of grandma taking them there when they behaved.
Looking ok, might put it up for download later, idk.
Bit of history below:
The building displays the year 1882 and the initials P.N. on the balcony guardrail and is listed as historical monument, however, given that the owners did not invest in its renovation and neither did the authorities, it sits in a degradation state.
The ground floor seems to have always housed commercial spaces, with the earliest proof I could find showing that it functioned as a taylor's shop and then as a confectionery during the Golden Age of communism. Post-communist business expansion showed no mercy on the structure and façade of this building (and many others on the same street), with the original elements being taken down and replaced by hideous paint and plastic windows.
The first floor survived the butchering, with the original architectural elements and wooden window panes still in place, however it housed tenants of different kinds throughout the years, that allowed it to succumb to the test of time. 2023 brought the building back into the attention of the authorities, but only to assess its state as high-risk for seismic activity and to have the first floor tenants evacuated.

Translation: there was a law in 1790 regarding wood savings due to shortage of wood. Therefore from 1870 - 1920, cheaphalf-timbered residential houses were built in Siegerland and surroundings, characterized by omitted intermediate horizontal beams (so | | instead of H beams)

Uploading Old/Unavailable TS2 Exchange Items, Part IV
Disclaimer: These lots were originally uploaded to the now-defunct Exchange back in 2004 or 2005 by inactive creators. I do not claim them as my own, rather I am uploading them in their original state to preserve them.
211 Meadowlark Lane by lrussim2 (4x4 lot, $205,594)
I usually like to upload some lots as part of my followers gifts, so here are the last two lots that I have by former TS2 Exchange builder lrussim2. The other houses (Green Gables, my favorite, and Sunny Glen) can be found here, and Southern Comfort can be found here.
I played a version of this lot many years ago, and loved how it was set up on a shallow hill and surrounded by lrussim2's trademark beautiful landscaping. She snuck in a few tricks that were ahead of their time when decorating, including using walls and floors that weren't originally in the catalogue, and the low roof trick for the patio on the right side of the house. The interior has 11 rooms and can sleep 4-6 sims, but the real highlight in the back patio and offset pool. This house was made for summer parties, so I think it will be a blast to play with Seasons and the rest of the EPs.

Easy Livin' by lrussim2 (3x4 lot, $173,342)
This house reminds me of the south, though I wouldn't say it adheres to a particular style of southern architecture. Something about its symmetrical shape and gentle contrast between the white windows and yellow siding contrast makes it feel inviting. The landscaping is, once again, extensive and beautiful (I couldn't landscape like this if I tried, and now it feels of a very different TS2 era). The first floor keeps the symmetrical layout (you may want to add a back door). Upstairs the three beds, three baths, and nursery allow you to cram a lot of sims in here. The big backyard will give them plenty to do.

I think taken together, lrussim2's style is clear. Lots of hardwood floors, stucco walls, large kitchens with plenty of windows letting in daylight, more ceiling plants than you thought possible, and extensive, lush landscaping bringing your sims outside to garden or lounge around the pool. These lots look wonderful around each other in a neighborhood, and demonstrate a high-point of TS2 traditional architecture using just the Base Game tools. If you like playing houses in this style, I think you will have a blast whether you update them to 2025's standards, or play them in their original conditions.

Tylopodian Society
Historically, some organizations like masonic lodges leave subtle hints like certain symbols and shapes in documents, books, architecture, etc. So I thought it would be funny to make a llama themed secret society, since the llama appears in so many places in TS2, especially in university items and clothing.
The architecture is inspired by Owers Manor by Seba569003 at MTS. I ran out of ideas for the third floor, so I just placed some cardboard boxes and stuff that won't be too attractive to sims.

What I'm Doing With The TS2 Universities: The Best-Laid Plans
So because my darling @uberhood teens are starting to go off to school, I'm starting to remodel the universities! Right now I'm thinking about how to make them distinct from each other-- especially since I overdid it and accidentally added every fucking campus in the game and a few modded ones.
So, I'm making this post so I remember wtf I was planning to do with all of these unis. What architectural styles was I planning to use? What mascots was I planning to give them?
Sim State University
Elevator Pitch: Rub elbows with SimNation's best and brightest-- or get invited to their epic ragers-- at SSU.
Inspiration: The College of William and Mary. An old, red brick campus that's split into the Old Campus and New Campus? That's Sim State U if we ever saw it.

La Fiesta Tech:
Elevator Pitch: The truth is out here! Unlock the secrets of the universe at La Fiesta Tech.

I guess we can consider this something of a mini world overview, which is something I want to get back into doing one of these days.
This is Qornenthus, an alien world by @risastorm. So far as I can tell, it's only available on their Exchange account, not on their Tumblr blog, for whatever reason. It's a world that I've had on my radar for a long time, wanting to create an alien society on it. So, I've decided to have a stab at it, to create a homeworld for these guys, whom I'm considering to be sort of mostly-post-technology. Not in a disastrous/apocalyptic way but rather as a society that mutually agreed to screw it all and "return to monke" -- Or in their case, "return to archosaur-ish" -- while still retaining some technology and such.
Anyway, I haven't really done any kind of "technical" building in Sims games since my early, pre-sharing-on-the-internet days of playing TS2 back in the mid-aughts, mostly because I generally don't enjoy playing the resulting kind of lots. They tend to be more complex and multi-level than I like to play. But for some reason, I've been itching to do some more "technical" building, and want to build something here. It will involve large lots spanning peaks, valleys, and bodies of water, with some elevated architecture, maybe some treehouses, so it's going to involve some terraforming, both temporary and permanent, if I can get it to work like I want at all. So before I tear things up, I thought I'd try out some lighting mods and take some "before" pics, with no Reshade or any image editing.
The lighting I landed on is Brntwaffles's Dystopian lighting, which is what's shown in the pictures on this post, though I edited the mod to make the moon unnecessarily enormous. It has the "feel" I want for these aliens and, as a bonus, it makes the water look suitably swampy, though I'll be adding fog emitters and more plants to make it more so. Then I'll need a suitable rainy/stormy alien Tempest preset. Oh! I should also mention that I have defaults for the game's "fantasy" trees, to make them a bit less fantasy-looking. For some reason, it lops off the heads of the mushroom trees; I can't remember if that's what it's supposed to do. LOL
Anyway, here are some more pictures because I took a lot of them at various times of day and in various conditions…

I'm calling this an "overview," but really there's not a lot to say about the world. It's extremely cool-looking, if you like alien-swamp sorts of environments, as you can see in the pics. But, it has no roads, no lots, and no flat building areas at all, anywhere, so if you want to use it, you have to place lots in Edit Town. Lots will place just about anywhere and, as far I saw, sims can route pretty much everywhere, too. Once you get lots placed, you'll need to do some more technical building for yourself because downloaded pre-built lots aren't going to fly here.
The world does have lots of spawners, especially insect and rock ones, except that it has no fish spawners at all, which is kind of funny given the amount of water. It doesn't have spawners from Island Paradise or Into the Future, either, but everything else is there. I'm not really sure what EPs it's going to need, and anything it's going to need is going to be vegetation-related because there's literally nothing else here. I do know that those bamboo trees come with World Adventures, and I'm pretty sure the rainbow eucalyptus trees come with Pets and the banana trees and alocasia come with Island Paradise. So there's that.
And that's about all there is to say, really. The rest, as they say, is silence pictures.

Oh! The one and only thing that I'm not fond of in the world is that it has a lot of rainbow spawners. And by "a lot" I mean a riotously excessive amount.

Sims State University: University Way Shops

Good evening. Tonight, I bring to you the University Way Shops. This is a large lot 40X40 with much to do.
The University tried to keep as much of the architecture as possible, however there was much deterioration to the buildings. However, this reconstruction does compliment the theme that the rest of this university town is trying to maintain.
Of course, you can come here and purchase clothing, however this is not all you can do here anymore. There are so many opportunities to skill on this lot. The skills acquired here can prepare your college sim to increase their study grade and graduate college with a nifty little hobby. I tried my best to cover everything, but I am sure I missed something. Anyway, I truly hope you enjoy this lot..oh I forgot to mention there is also a park in the back. There is something for everyone here in addition to a testy kitchen for your culinary sims to make meals and receive prizes and criticisms. Enjoy!!
As always, my lots are very modestly furnished, feel free to add or remove whatever you like.
Always make a backup of your game before installing this or any DLC into your game to prevent permanent loss of all your hard work in your game.

Hi. Sorry to bother you, and thank you for all the amazing cc, sorry for spaming you with likes. I feel really dumb because I don't know why or how, but my game has a problem with (most of) your cc and this roof by C&K: https://crispsandkerosene.tumblr.com/post/87921581132/ts3store-century-manor-roof-stuff-for-ts2
It crashes when I click on these roof pieces in game, they work if I remove your cc and I've been using them for years.
I've checked GUIDs, they are not the same but some are similar. I'm sure it's something only with my game, as I have way too much cc. I don't expect you to fix it or anything. But just out of curiosity, could you download that set and click on it in your game, to see if it crashes for you too or to confirm that it's just me. Only when you have the time! And if not, that's okay too, feel free to ignore this message. Take care!
Hey suratan-zir, you're not bothering me at all, I'm happy if I can contribute to straighten things out. And you can spam me with likes as much as you like. 😁
Unfortunately, I think I cannot help you in this specific case. I put the century-manor-roof pieces into my download folder and ran everything through SimPE's GUID scanner. There were no duplicates, meaning there is no GUID conflict either. Besides, a GUID conflict wouldn't normally crash the game, it would only prevent an object from appearing in the game. Things that have been crashing my game in the past mostly had to do with the CRES, GMND or BHAV.
After checking the GUIDs, I booted the game, visited a lot in Belladonna Cove and went to the architecture category. I clicked on all the roof pieces and neither of them crashed my game.

After closing the game again, I opened some of the roof piece files and (at first glance) couldn't detect anything that could somehow conflict with any of my files. So I really don't know why my CC is causing you trouble. As far as I can remember, I've never cloned anything from the architecture menu until now, the only overlapping "data" would be the windows.
I'll post your ask for everyone to see, so if anybody reading this has any other idea for me to check or test, please step forward. Thank you in advance!
