I'm a sims 3 girlie and I'm gonna make a long post abt my experience as a NEW sims 2 player. I know nobody cares about this but this is my blog I can do whatever I want!!! And I wanna write appreciation for sims 2.

Ok so first of all, playing ts2 from ts3 is HARD. I underestimated sims 2. Before playing it, I already have prejudice that it will have less content than sims 3 & that the experience of playing sims 2 will be boring bc there is less lifetime goals, no traits, and less gameplay. And I was right. The first time I played sims 2, I found myself getting bored playing with Strangetown. My first gameplay was playing 1 rotation with all of sims 2 strangetown households & I thought to myself "damn i really have to force myself playing with so many households so everybody age up." I closed my game & think so myself "yep. I'm never gonna play sims 2 again." Don't get me wrong, the story of Strangetown is AWESOME. But the lack of gameplay makes me feel like i'm stuck with doing the same mundane tasks again and again for a week with every household (ex: making sure my sims got promoted, taking care of needs, socializing). I admit that going on dates are more fun in sims 2 but it isn't enough to hook me.

Tbh I can't play sims 4 bc it feels like dollhouse simulator. And sims 2 feels a little bit like dollhouse simulator too at first. The reason why I love the sims 3 so much is because of the sims 3 skill challenges. I love that if you play the guitar in 10 parties you will get a bigger tip every time you perform for tips in public. Or if you do an interaction for a certain amount you will get special perks. This is the same reason why I love playing stardew valley and feel so much joy when my character fall asleep & level up their farming/foraging/fishing & unlock new craftables/abilities/gameplay.

But then I tried giving sims 2 a second chance, and this time I play with open for business & this EP CHANGED MY LIFE. OFB is the best sims EP ever. The gameplay is SMOOTH & I've never felt so much joy from playing ANY sims games. It's so awesome bc we can make any business we want! And I eventually fall in love with sims 2 rotational gameplay when I do a BACC challenge & made my own hood with 4 founding families where each family have a role & businesses. Farmers in my hood own a grocery store & my restaurant owner buy his ingredients from them. I also make my 'mechanic' sim service sims, meaning that when I'm playing with another family & their plumbing broke, my mechanic sim (who also run a business where he restore junk cars) will come & fix their plumbing for them. Everyone's life is intertwined and they all need each other. My mayor sim also collect money from the households, and once the mayor have enough money to build a new park, the townies will have more places to visit. So I'm always motivated to make each rotation counts & tried to make as much money as possible.

After playing TS2, i'm not sure how I can go back to playing sims 3. Climbing the corporate ladder with sims 3 job now feels meaningless and sims 3 outings SUCKS. But I am still frustrated with the lack of gameplay sims 2 have compared to sims 3. I just want sims 2 to have all of sims 3 gameplay & it'll be my ultimate dream game😭 (yes now i prefer sims 2 graphics + rotational/aging system + loading screens + the freedom to decorate the hood + etc.) I just need sims 2 to have more skills, opportunities, skill challenges, interactions, and traits & I won't even look at any sims games that are being developed like paralives/inzoi😭 I really do think sims 2 found the formula for the perfect life simulator, but it's flawed. Anyways if you're a sims 3 girlie who only ever played sims 3, do give sims 2 a chance :D You won't regret it!

My favorite aspect of TS2 is that it feels like a life simulation, not just a digital dollhouse. Nothing wrong with dollhouses per se but they aren't my thing.

I played TS1 a lot as a kid! It was actually the reason I whined to get my first PC lol. I had all the EPs and loved that game to pieces.

But I've never played TS3 or TS4, no. I enjoy building my own neighborhoods and playing them as a whole, so the later installations have never appealed to me.

@memoirsofasim ~ This is like a favorite kind of simblr of mines. Cozy and cute! If you make a cozy and cute simblr like this one then I want to be there to give it love!

@specter-dollhouse ~ I just LOVE the room decor and the sims, especially the alien sims! I have not played much with alien sims oddly enough but these do inspire me some!

@autonomousllama ~ First of all, I do have a weak spot for Llamas and second of all I also enjoy TS3 simblrs and third of all I enjoy a simblr with a sense of humor!

@simsstuph ~ Another simblr where the aesthetics are just perfect and it's always fun to read! I think just one look at these posts and you'll see exactly what I mean!

@joannebernice ~ Ok, where do I start?! Well, her stories are amazing and I do love simblrs that write about serious topics and conflict, of course nothing wrong with those that keep things light but since I can get dark at times I do like a story that can go dark places. Also, her poses are AMAZING! If you are looking for poses, especially action kind of poses, I lead you here!

As always, these are just for fun and in no order! It's just a weekly appreciation of simblr and promoting people in the community that I personally feel deserve it!

Hello murfeel, I don't know if anyone ask you this before but what do you think about the news of sims 5 being planned by ea?

Hi! I see we're starting 2023 on a positive note, getting me triggered by EA's shenanigans! 🤣

Yeah, so far I've only commented briefly about TS5 in this post, when EA did that stupid Summit thing where they showed off how much they're trying to one-up Paralives. 🙄 OOoOoo~! They're bringing the color wheel back after swearing on a stack of bibles that CASt was the worst feature in TS3 and TS4 didn't need it and their wacka** LACK of customization was the FUTURE of gaming--zomg lemme get my wallet ready~~! 🤡

Like, EA, everyone knows you're good at Build/Buy mode and CAS--people don't call TS4 a DOLLHOUSE SIMULATOR for nothing. But where is the EFFING GAMEPLAY? I feel the same way about Paralives--I don't need to see anymore of their builds or Paras--I want to follow sims INSIDE their places of work and school (no more EFFING rabbitholes); and see how they act come rain, snow or shine; and I want pets aside from just cats & dogs and RODENTS EA. And different cultural representation, so it's not the same generic American suburban cookie-cutter crap all the time--give me simulated life of the islands, the tundras, the equator, the poles, the Nth/Est/Sth/Wst hemispheres, the cities, the farms, the jungles, the corporate ladder, off the grid--in fully fleshed out EXPANSIONS with living breathing WORLDS, not watered down Game Packs, for crying out loud. Do y'all even remember what Expansion Packs are, EA? If only every pack was given HALF the content and attention to detail that Seasons always gets! It's a sad state of affairs when the best pack y'all ever released was for VAMPIRES. 🤦‍♀️

I get stomach ulcers every time I hear about how people spent over a THOUSAND DOLLARS on TS4 and are clamoring for the torture to be over already so TS5 can hurry up and screw them over instead. The biggest complaint simmers have been screaming at EA about is how dang BORING TS4 is, because

the game is too easy, and people have to cheat to make the game HARDER wtf

the game is too buggy and none of the fancy "features" effing WORK, releasing ENTIRE PACKS BROKEN, with patches that make everything worse

the features TS4 does have that actually work are shallow AF and a lot of them are repetitive/redundant or they don't carry over to other EPs/GPs/SPs to make the gameplay deeper and richer you had one job EA

TS4's worlds are too small and we don't even have CAW, but EA promised us that smaller non-open worlds with no CASt and no Story Progression would make TS4 run so much smoother than TS3--gosh golly, now if only my save would stop laaaaaaagging 😩

where are the skills where are the careers where are the hobbies other than streaming/blogging where are the NPCs where ar--

the sims' emotions & action queues are out of control, but the EMOTIONS were the MAIN thing the dev's pitched when TS4 was announced over a decade ago; why are my sims acting like crack heads when you said they'd be so much smarter?

the kids are totally ignored, where the teens are basically young adults with curfews--but zoinks! they're finally going to update the bassinet-babies after TEN YEARS so the legacy players can actually PLAY WITH LIFE and interact with babies! Maybe if we're lucky, they'll patch in some frikkin preteens so the life states in a life simulation game actually make sense!

Look at everything Sims Freeplay has--it's monetized to hell and back, but at least they have COOL stuff! WHERE IS IT in TS4? Will that stuff be in basegame TS5???? EVER? Or will EA just keep showing us how many throw pillows we can rotate on couches in rooms full of clutter that aren't even interactive objects? 🙃 Paralives has Paras ziplining off of rooftops into their pool--will basegame TS5 even launch with pools and swimmable water, or will that feature be locked off behind another lukewarm paywalled EP where you can only ever swim in ONE (1) world? 🏝 And now that EA making basegame TS4 free to play, they have carte blanche to microtransaction people to death with useless Kits full of DECOR and mess in TS5, too, huzzah!

And they keep bringing up MULTIPLAYER--THEY BETTER NOT. 💀

GOD, I hope the TS4 simmers go off on EA and tell them that TS5 CANNOT be TS4 2.0. Don't have EA walking around thinking TS4 was the right way to do life simulation gaming. TS4's enormous player base means diddly squat if people don't play the game to PLAY the GAME, only using it as the base for their Blender renders -- quantity does NOT equal quality, EA!

I'm not even staying on top of TS5 news anymore, listening to Lindsay Pearson lie to my frikkin face; promising me the moon only to have it turn out to be made of government cheese. The proof is gonna be in the pudding once the game actually LAUNCHES in a zillion years; I refuse to get hyped.

But I am PRAYING EA does TS5 right. Or at least that they make something better than TS4--it's a low bar, I know, but baby steps. Believe it or not, but I'd actually like to play a sims game that isn't TS3 sometime this decade. 🙏 TS4 had so many red flags; everyone knew it was a mobile game port, we're not THAT dumb, EA. Plus, TS4 was just too effing ugly for me. I hate the cartoony playdough look, and the lack of CASt and customization was an IMMEDIATE dealbreaker; so at least EA learned ONE lesson in all this time. *slow claps* Now we just have to see what they'll do about the actual GAME, the part that MATTERS.

Lemme stop, before I pop a blood vessel.

Wake me up when TS5 has more gameplay than Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley.

ty 😭 yeah when i first started playing 3 in like 2020 (so long ago i know /s) i was a bit turned off by the lack of active community and cc that i liked. i mean the first place i looked was TSR and i was immediately hit with war flashbacks to my dan and phil emo phase. awful. ( tbh that fashion will probably come back again in like 10 years, but for now lets keep it in 2014)

but yeah i realllly want there to be more people creating or at least converting for sims 3. So many creators that used to create for 3 stopped after 2019 or so and switched to 4 completely. it just makes me sad. it sounds weird but i feel like i enjoy consuming media more when i know there's other people who actively enjoy it too.

the only things i miss from 4 are the vampires, wicked whims, lumpinou's mods and extreme violence. the rest can LEAVE

No one's forcing you to buy Kits and it's better than in TS3 where they'd show you DLC items in CAS as like in in-game ad to get you to buy stuff Kits are just like little packs of items you can get for your dollhouse but can also very much ignore if you want to

This is a big improvement from TS3 where the kids eat the dolls in the dollhouse...or maybe these two are just sweet and gentle when they play.

im doing the 100 baby challenge on TS3. left image is Thirtynine (39), the former matriarch. she had a whopping 17 kids!!!

could've gone for 20 but she got a lot of single boys because she had been eating apple pancakes, which apparently influence the baby's gender to be a boy. and for some reason she only had single boys!!!!! all her girls were twins or triplets. wtf?

anyway, the next matriarch is Fiftyfive (55) (her twin brother is 56), pictured on the right. i'm so glad shes dark haired, i was tired of blonde matriarchs.

55 is a couch potato and a light sleeper which are pretty Nothing traits, but after her grandma who was Neurotic, clumsy and inappropriate, i'm counting my wins. i think im never getting as lucky as i got with 39, who was family-oriented AND nurturing.

poor 39 wanted to get married this whole time and i think i'm finally letting her do it, i just don't know to whom though, since her fiancé, Elmer, died of old age... IN OUR HOUSE.

here's the grim reaper playing with the kid's dollhouse after taking Elmer away. also grim reaper has lvl 10 in kama simtra (iykyk) and kept exuding the orgasmic aura which killed me. i tried putting Elmer's grave in our private family graveyard but it disappeared. oops?

The weekend arrived and after 5 straight days of being stuck in the house these two can’t wait to get outside. It’s still a bit cold, but it’s no longer below freezing.

They head to the new playground to check out the new spring rides. Of course Erlea chooses the honeybee!

Phillip jumps on the horse and rides until the poor thing is blowing steam from his nostrils.

Erlea proclaims herself Queen for the Day and decides they should go to the library and get warm.

The twins plop down at the dollhouse and have a great time.

It does looks like a dollhouse ha ha ;) We can imagine, that first, it was the house from the mirror, and then, when Alice moves to Wonderland she stays there...
