Heyyy sorry im kinda answering this a little late but id love to expand on it!

I’m glad you asked I was kinda waiting for someone to comment on that and I was going to expand on it and then… forgot- I actually had like a whole fic planned for it and never followed through because idk life happened or smth BUT

Just want to clarify that I have done research to the best of my ability and although this may not be the most medically accurate hc, it is a hc so don’t take it too personally

So manic episodes can happen regardless if the person is bipolar or not, someone doesn’t have to be bipolar to experience manic episodes. Sometimes highly stressful situations and trauma and cause manic episodes (both of which Nico very much has and if Nico is bipolar I wouldn’t be suprised but anyway-)

I don’t think the headcanon of Nico being manic is too far-fetched because have you seen him??? Like I just think it fits because he is pretty impulsive and I feel like there would be times where Nico just has really high energy levels (which is a good and a bad thing) and when it first starts Will is like “oh yay- are you okay?” Nico dismisses it as like “I’m getting better” and Dionysus is just staring at him like “I have news for you-“ and ruins his day

With the help of Dionysus he learns to manage it and Will helps out too by noticing the signs. Mania has different levels so maybe his might not be a high extreme so maybe hypomania or smth but it’s there.

ok but the percy being a descendant of venus by mother headcanon does make sense Hear me out

it would explain why percy is more fluent in latin than most of the other greek demigods and also how he is described as straight up GORGEOUS. gorgeous enough for hazel to think he was a roman god. A roman god in disguise (which, by the way, is confirmed to be a huge compliment considering that percy said in the calice of the gods that you could recognize a god in disguise by the fact that they tend to make themselves look a little too perfect)

how sally is also "strikingly beautiful" in canon and i do not remember where but im pretty sure she has also been described to look like a "warrior princess" or something along that and descending from a goddess of love would explain how she managed to attract poseidon despite not having any characteristic related to the stuff poseidon is the god of (most gods chose their mortal partners based on that; ex. wills mother being a singer or annabeths dad a professor) also apollo in the trials of apollo saying that he understood why poseidon was attracted and if he were still a god would have tried hitting on her too

Also! the swan being one of aphrodites/venus sacred animals but at the same time a symbol of loyalty. and whats percys fatal flaw? loyalty

most people don't know he's from texas, but when things get rough in the infirmary his southern accent comes out so strongly even his fellow CAMPERS can't tell it's him

i truly believe that nico would be a smoker. now ik rick can’t write that bc it’s a series for children/younger audience but i just KNOW that if he could nico would be a smoker or stoner or both. now let me explain, nico came from a time where smoking was very socially acceptable and common. so who’s to say that he wouldnt be chill with smoking. i think he would’ve grown up around smokers and didn’t think anything of it. like that’s just normal and how it is. im not exactly sure what age or time nico would’ve gotten into it but if i had to guess it would be probably during that time he was away from camp doing who knows what. and also you mean to tell me that nico went through all of that trauma without at least trying a substance and possibly getting addicted??? lies. that man has unhealthy coping mechanisms and i believe that smoking would be one of them. it just seems to fit his character ykwim? it’s not like he would care that it’s bad for you… i mean the man barely has any self preservation. however that’s not to say that his friends or will wouldn’t voice their concerns about the smoking and how it’s bad for you and blah blah blah. i just really think nico would be a smoker whether it’s nicotine or weed or both. (it’s probably both)

Btw I firmly believe that Nicos love languages are physical touch and acts of service🙏🏻 there’s nothing you could tell me that would make me change my mind and HERES WHY.

1) physical touch

“Oh but Nico canonically hates physical touch🤓” well yes! And let’s think about it for a second here, because him being touch adversed for most of the time AND having physical touch as his love language actually makes a lot of sense!

For most of the series Nico feels uncomfortable, inadequate, unaccepted. He hates himself, he is scared of his own feelings, of his own self. I think it’s extremely fitting that he doesn’t like when most people touch him, because he doesn’t feel accepted by most people, he doesn’t trust them. Its extremely fitting for him to absolutely refuse physical touch, because he doesn’t feel like he can show the part of him that is full of love, or more so he doesn’t think he has one at all.

Hes canonically always searching for physical contact with people he loves, after he starts healing! We see this with Hazel, though not a lot since NicoHazel content is regrettably in hoo only, with Jason, WITH WILL!!!! He’s literally CONSTANTLY touching Will. Holding his hand, kissing him, sitting beside him and scooping closer to him. He loves physical touch guys he just does…

2) acts of service

Well this is actually extremely obvious😓

He’s The Helper. He’s literally the helper. In the whole series. He’s just helping everyone constantly.

He does this with people he doesn’t like or trust, I think it’s clear he would do even more with the ones he love.

He loves doing little gestures for his loved ones, like cooking for them, or bringing Will a snack while he’s in the infirmary, bringing Reyna some water when she’s training… THATS JUST WHO HE IS!!!
