Dear Sir My friend Mr. Gleeson White (who called on you in November), I think mentioned my name to you as one fond of reading your books. —& he sent me a [flower?] you had picked, with a message of love besides. Perhaps you have forgotten the incident, but he also tells me, if I send you 25 shillings (or 6 dols.), you would send me the complete edition of your works, with perhaps a little autograph note in the fly-leaf. SOPHTEMBER: Ordinary Life by Sokin

Sophie in the style of the Nichijou anime, by Sokin Naganon! In her civilian life, Sophie is more or less a snarky dork who likes music and nerdy things like movies and video games, and she dresses in a way that's ostensibly not "girly" by most standards, but otherwise unremarkable. Even after becoming a Bendy with a rubbery body, she still blends in fairly well since her body holds its shape! There's little twists, bends, twists, stretches, and bounces that are a bit beyond normal human range of motion, but nobody really notices unless Sophie does something really stretchy. She isn't so much keeping a secret, since her classmates call her "stretch" anyway, but just not drawing attention to herself all the time. She does keep her suit under her clothes sometimes, especially when the weather gets colder, just in case she'll need it for some reason, which is usually the only unusual thing about her daily getup. Flannel shirt, cargo pants, chunky boots, fingerless gloves, tuke, and a phone she makes drum loops on while waiting in line at the university cafeteria - she's perfectly content to live her ordinary life when she can! I've actually been friends with Sokin for a few years now, and I have been thinking of how Sophie would look in the style of Nichijou for most of that time, especially since Sokin is so good at replicating the style. This month I finally made it happen since he opened commissions, and he did an amazing job! If you like this, you should check out his other stuff! : D Hope you enjoy! ~ Bonkie

Tuke immediately threw a punch at the person in front of them, not bothering to hesitate or worry about who they were. Lucky for them, their hit wasn't very strong, but they still stared at the other with wide eyes. They couldn't believe what had just happened. They didn't even know if it was the other that had caused their lack of breath but if it was, they were ready to fight.

Selected Works from Henry Scott Tuke

Henry Scott Tuke was an English painter renowned for his maritime scenes and depictions of young men, often in a naturalistic and intimate style. There is something nostalgic about many of Tuke's works — his vibrant use of color and light perfectly captures the idyllic and carefree essence of youth.

In his personal and professional life, Tuke met and befriended many fellow artists such as John Singer Sargent, and talented poets, including Oscar Wilde and John Addington Symonds. He traveled often in circles with other Uranian — the term in use at the time for gay men — artists. While Tuke's art prominently features nude young men, his works aren't sexually explicit. Most of his works show young men in the foreground but the star is clearly the sea.

Tuke's legacy is celebrated for its artistic merit and its subtle challenge to the conventions of his time, particularly posthumously. Around the 1970s, his body of work was rediscovered by gay artists, art collectors, and art historians — including Sir Elton John!
